Great restaurant, friendly staff, food was very good, I'd gladly come again.

Great menu with dishes that are truly delicious and...the presentation is also beautiful.

We went to "das Lokal" in Schwerte and were more than pleasantly surprised. We had read that it's best to reserve in advance, and this proved to be true. Almost all the tables were occupied. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table. We all chose the homemade raspberry-rosemary spritzer – what can I say, it was absolutely delicious. Fresh bread with aioli was served on the house. The men had the baked feta as a starter, and I had the tomato soup. Both were very tasty. The baked feta was a generous portion, easily enough for two people, as the main course was more than ample. Despite being hearty eaters, the men, who both ordered the mixed grill, couldn't finish it. The arrangement of the meat on the plate alone was a feast for the eyes, and every piece was cooked to perfection and incredibly tender. Our request to swap the fries for fried potatoes was no problem at all. My girlfriend had the penne with strips of beef fillet, and I had the pan-fried calf's liver with mashed potatoes and braised onions—I've rarely eaten such delicious mashed potatoes. Perfectly seasoned with nutmeg—amazing! To finish, we were offered a complimentary liqueur. What can I say? A fantastic, cozy restaurant in the heart of Schwerte. It's definitely high on our list, and we'll be back. Top-notch!

The restaurant has a very calm and pleasant atmosphere. It's best that the chef serves the customers himself, but he's really sad when BVB loses. 🤣 And the food here in Schwerte is the best you'll find anywhere.

Completely satisfied. I've been here several times and it's always been good. The food is very high quality, a bit more expensive, but in my opinion, it's within reason. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. It's clean and tidy. It's always been quite busy during my visits, so it's naturally a bit noisy, but that doesn't bother me personally. I can recommend a visit to everyone.

We live in Ergste and unfortunately didn't know the restaurant until last Friday. We'll be eating there more often now. Great atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious food. We were there from 5:00 PM until closing time, and at the end, the owner even sat down with us for a chat. A great evening.

Last night I had a fantastic experience at "Das Lokal." The food was absolutely delicious and the service was first-class. Everyone in the waiting room was very attentive and gave excellent recommendations. The ambiance was perfect for a relaxed evening. I can't wait to come back! And not just for the all-you-can-eat schnitzel evening. I haven't had such a pleasant evening in a long time. Unfortunately, I couldn't take a photo because I was too hungry 😁 but trust me, the food is amazing 👍🏻. Enjoyed great food and a lovely atmosphere in the beer garden again this evening. Everyone will find something on the menu and it is simply delicious

It should be somewhere in the middle as we meet in a restaurant several times a year. Randomly selected...or oriented towards the recessions. We were completely thrilled and made reservations again straight away. Our regular restaurant is now quarterly (sometimes a 50km journey). We are always more than satisfied! The food is TOP, the staff is almost family friendly. Guests' birthdays are celebrated with all local visitors.

We were in the restaurant on a Tuesday. It was a really pleasant atmosphere and the staff was great! Everyone was very friendly and attentive to the guest. This is very rare to experience in this day and age. A big thank you 🙏 for that. The great ambience with real cloth napkins and chic setting was an eye-catcher. A 🙏 for that too. The food was very tasty and visually appealing, and the wine selection was sufficient. For us it was on the way through with the motorhome a very pleasant evening in a cozy atmosphere. It certainly wasn't the last visit while on vacation.

Great, cozy restaurant with great cuisine.

Delicious food and friendly service

Spontaneously got a table without a reservation on a Friday evening. This is not a given as the restaurant was basically fully booked. The service was very courteous and attentive. The food came very quickly and was hot and delicious. A side salad was served with the schnitzel and there was also some bread with excellent aioli. Gladly again and again!

The Wiener Schnitzel and the rack of lamb as well as the dessert were amazing! The last time I ate such good quality Wiener Schnitzel was in Ulm. As always, accompanying entertainment and nice conversations with the boss. A restaurant in Schwerte that you like to go to because the food on offer varies. Keep it up and THANK YOU also to the service team!

We went to the restaurant again last night and had a great evening. The food was simply amazing!!! We will definitely repeat the prawns in combination with the antipasti. The steaks were very tender and definitely top quality. The service is exemplary! The store was full but everyone was very attentive. Nothing was missing. I can recommend the restaurant 100%. Hvis du er i nærheden af Dortmund, eller rejser i autocamper og benytter det fine camperstop i Schwerte ved Ruhr-floden, så spis aftensmad på Das Lokal. Virkelig frisk og veltilberedt mad, men måske ikke så lokalt... Hyggelig og inkluderende atmosfære. Prisen modsvarer fint måltidets kvalitet.

I discovered the restaurant last year and have been a guest several times since then. I think everyone will find something on the menu. Although you can't put the restaurant in a box, which isn't a disadvantage here! Ambiance, service and quality - everything is FINE! I'd love to come back! Keep it up...and please don't stop, many people make that mistake...:-)

It was our first time at “das Lokal” and we enjoyed our visit in every way. That's why we'll add "the local" to our list for future visits.

I've eaten here several times and it's always been very good, but I have to write a review for the next visit. We were there for Christmas dinner with work colleagues (approx. 20 people). The place was packed and that too on an all you can eat schnitzel day. I asked if there was also chicken schnitzel (I don't eat pork) and I was told no. Then the boss came and told me that he couldn't guarantee that the chicken schnitzels would be fried in separate pans if they came one by one and asked if he could bring several schnitzels straight away, then he could serve me chicken schnitzels. I have never experienced such good service as here. I can blindly recommend the restaurant to everyone. Keep it up…

Nice restaurant in Schwerte with extremely friendly service. The prices are really quite high, but the quality is good. The apple crumble for dessert was also very tasty.

Endlich haben wir es mal geschafft auf einem Donnerstag einen Tisch zu reservieren. Jeden Donnerstag gibt’s Burger vom Grill und diese waren super lecker. Leider haben wir kein Foto gemacht, aber ich kann es jedem empfehlen, ich hatte Süßkartoffelpommes mit Chilli-Mango Dip und mein Mann hatte Kartoffelchips mit Parmesan Aioli. Im April waren wir nochmals dort und haben a la carte gegessen, diese Bewertung folgt noch.

"The Local" is worth a visit! Nice staff, special dishes, modern atmosphere. Price is good too. For dishes with a side salad on the plate, there could be a little less salad. The shrimp are prepared differently than you are used to, but I would have liked a little more salt. The feta cheese is super delicious. In summer, as in winter, the lemonade raspberry or lemon is highly recommended! Will definitely come back.
