We were so impressed with the Syrian restaurant Damascus that we ate there two days in a row. The food is incredibly delicious, fresh, and authentic – you can really taste how much love goes into each dish. The service is also incredibly warm and attentive; you immediately feel welcome. The atmosphere is cozy, and you can truly relax and enjoy yourself. We can wholeheartedly recommend Damascus in Andernach and will definitely be back! 🙌🏻😊 P.S.: The rice is highly recommended!!

The food was incredibly delicious. The ambiance is stylish and very cozy. The overall concept is very cohesive; only the service could be a touch faster and more attentive. But otherwise, everything was top-notch and highly recommended at good prices.

The restaurant doesn't offer what it looks like, not to mention what's on the memory card. And it's far too expensive.

We had a very good meal here while passing through. The service was very friendly. Unfortunately, the feta cheese was out of stock, so I didn't get to try it. The flatbread and the food were freshly prepared.

My husband and I were here for the first time today. We waited about half an hour for our order, but our drinks arrived quickly. The portions were large. The food wasn't just delicious, it was absolutely delicious. We definitely recommend this place.

The food was delicious. The service gets fewer stars because one waiter was terrible. When we ordered drinks from him, they simply didn't arrive; we had to keep asking for them.

Okay. Das war es aber dann auch. Essen mittelmäßig. Das bestelle Gericht war, nach Nachfrage, nicht wie von der Bedienung beschrieben. Auf dem "Grillteller" fehlten Dinge die am Nachbartisch ( gleiches Gericht ) vorhanden waren. Auf Nachfrage erfolgte eine lapidare Entschuldigung!? Mehr nicht ! Bei den Preisen nicht wieder !

We ate Syrian food for the first time, and we were both absolutely thrilled! We ordered a mixed grill plate for two people. The meat was very tasty and plentiful, and the saffron rice was delicious. We also enjoyed the ambiance. The service was very friendly and attentive. Our only minor criticism: the lettuce leaves were pre-cut and already had edges. A tip: prepare them fresh and perhaps tear them instead of cutting them. Otherwise, everything was great! Unfortunately, we don't live in the area, but we would come here often! We can happily recommend this restaurant.

Nach 15 Minuten hat sich noch niemand für uns interessiert, auch Aufforderungen und Bitten wurden ignoriert. Das Restaurant war knapp halb voll, Personal hatte wohl gerade Betriebsversammlung. an der Theke. Preise erscheinen etwas hoch, ist aber bei diesem grottenschlechten Service egal.

great oriental food with great service, if Andernach then Damascus

The starter and meal were very good. It was quick and easy. One server was very friendly and attentive. We had the chicken skewer and the grilled plate. As a Syrian restaurant, it could have a more traditional atmosphere. We'd be happy to come back.

We had dinner with friends at this restaurant and ordered starters and main courses. Unfortunately, the food was terrible—it had a bad smell and was inedible. We could only take one bite before deciding not to eat any more. The next day, we experienced symptoms of food poisoning. We informed the manager about our experience, but he claimed there was nothing he could do. In the end, we left without eating and still had to pay €200. Definitely not recommended.

The kebab smelled so bad that we even didn’t finish our meal 😐

Came to visit Andernach Geyser and stopped at the city centrum. I was pleasantly surprised with the warm welcome and got promptly seated. The staff were always happy to serve and the food was quickly served. I will strongly recommend their falafel and their main vegetarian dishes served with spiced rice was excellent. Every main dish was served with a generous quantity of hummus. The portion size was very good as well.will definitely visit when I am back.

Three of us went there for dinner. A very polite waitress immediately made room for us by the window. Everyone in the restaurant was very friendly. We chose the various tapas. They were very well prepared (you eat with your eyes) and tasted wonderful. We would love to come back and highly recommend this restaurant.

Wonderful restaurant with great food. Everything is very well-maintained. The staff is incredibly attentive… you wish they were more often! I had the chicken strips with saffron rice and bread… it was a dream. But I was full and had to finish it!

I came to Andernach for the first time and had dinner with these wonderful people! The place is amazing, the service is at the highest level, we came to a guy who approached us and did everything for our convenience, the girl who also served us was smart, there was a language barrier, but they treated us with understanding and decided everything through a translator (she tried to understand and explain us so that we could understand) In general, what can I say about this place, the service 💥👍🏼 the prices are affordable, the location is great) we had dinner there every evening) Thank you for such a welcome!! We'll definitely be back!

Very tasty food & extremely friendly staff

Unfortunately very bad service. First of all, we weren't served for a while. And then we were told that the kitchen wasn't keeping up so quickly at the moment and so we had to wait. But instead of being given information about when we can order, nothing came. Only when we asked did we receive any information and we still couldn't order after 45 minutes. So we just had a drink and then left. Very unfortunate.

Wir sind mit dem Wohnmobil hier und hatten heute keine Lust selber zu kochen. Eigentlich sollte es ein italienisches Restaurant werden, aber nach einem Blick ins Damaskus und dem ok, dass wir unsere Hündin mit reinbringen dürfen, haben wir uns spontan umentschieden. Das war definitiv eine gute Entscheidung. Die junge Frau, die für den Service zuständig war, war aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Wir haben uns überhaupt direkt sehr willkommen gefühlt. Das Essen war sehr lecker, gut gewürzt und reichlich. Ich könnte mir vorstellen, nur für einen Besuch im Damaskus nochmal nach Andernach zu kommen. 😉

We were in Damascus yesterday for First Friday. The wait for food was a little longer because it was really busy. But that was ok. What absolutely didn't work were the toilets. Very dirty, the toilet lids were completely broken and it smelled very bad. Therefore only one star for the ambience. Personally, I always judge a restaurant by the cleanliness of the toilets because, for me, that reflects the kitchen, so I will think about eating there again. The service and friendliness of the staff was very good, no question. The taste of the food was also good. Conclusion: Needs improvement

Latest: Very nice atmosphere inside, great Christmas decorations, fresh flowers. Service was very friendly and very attentive. The menu has changed a bit and been reduced, but there is still enough that is appealing and it was again very tasty! Overall just great! Update: Food was extremely tasty, the portion was large. I think the mix of vegetables, salad, rice, bread etc is really great. The employees are attentive, ask questions from time to time and are very friendly. I think it's a little nicer to sit outside than inside, as it can quickly get louder inside. Older: We had it delivered to Neuwied with several people. The food was delicious and it was well packaged!

Nice service, good service. The only drawback: we ordered grilled plates that didn't meet our expectations. 4 relatively small pieces of meat, 2 strips of grilled minced meat, 1 cutlet? There are 2 tiny bits of meat on it. Absolutely overpriced for €24.50.

Overall impression, quite OK... Staff is very friendly, really very nice!! The selection of dishes is very small. The food overall was OK, but nothing special. Choice of desserts far too little. Alcoholic mixed drinks were very strong. Reservations probably aren't necessary as there was very little going on on Sunday.

It tasted good. However, it took a very long time until we got the food. Unfortunately there were problems with communication. We wanted a different side dish, that was not taken into account. The chair I was sitting on was jostled twice and no one apologized. 🫤

A restaurant that is definitely 100% recommended. Ambience, service, friendliness is great. The quality of the food is unbeatable. From the delicious starters to the main courses, you can get fresh and regional food of excellent quality. Also worth highlighting is the open kitchen and the really great cleanliness and hygiene. Ordered food from the restaurant twice and ate it. Falafel top. Grill plate flop... meat was dry, seasoning wasn't right... the "smoke aroma" had a strange note. I'll be back for falafel to go, but unfortunately I won't be sitting down and ordering anything larger from you anymore.

Were now there as a repeat eater. The quality is still very good, but the price performance has suffered somewhat since the last visit. The service was a bit spotty, but perhaps this was due to the significantly higher crowd at the same time.

The range of food on offer has reduced significantly since our last visit and prices have risen sharply. The service in the outdoor lighting was only mediocre, after one drink no one asked for another. I know things differently in Damascus.

Delicious Syrian dishes. We ordered the grill plate for 2 people. There was plenty of meat and side dishes on the plate. We were served thinly baked bread with two dips beforehand. Delicious. The service was outstanding! Very friendly staff! We recommend!

Delicious food in Germany, but in my opinion the waiter is a bit overwhelmed and inefficient in his way of working... The food was delicious again for the second time today... however the football game wasn't live but from the day before ;-)

The location is nice in the middle of the market, but the price and performance of the food on offer somehow don't go together for me... Look at the photo and see for yourself at over 30 euros

We ate there a month ago and it was bad. We sat right by the window and had to watch as an employee kicked 2 small rats half to death, but only so that they lay there convulsing for 10 minutes. I understand that rats are a problem in the catering industry, but to half-heartedly get rid of them in front of customers who are eating and then leave them lying around is simply disgusting. Never again!!!! Furthermore, the portions were for a hollow tooth.

Very tasty food, it's nice that oriental dishes and regional wines are offered. The dishes were really well seasoned and so very tasty. Inside there is very nice music playing and it is well decorated, outside it is normal. A recommended restaurant.

We came back because of the good feedback. We were very disappointed with the food, we chose different starters. Tasteless and overpriced what balsamic reduction has lost in Syrian cuisine? No fresh herbs, just pomegranate with no taste. Waiting time without words! Not recommended! We come from Cologne and are very spoiled!

Syrian cuisine right on Andernach’s market square. Tasty and well attended (reservation is an advantage). Tip: mixed starter platter for two people. Dishes are consistently delicious. Service is friendly and quick (even though all tables were occupied). Price deducted. Still okay, but at the higher end of the scale, what I would consider adequate.

Waiter was very nice. However, the grill plate for 2 people for 48 euros is a joke. Little meat and lots of fries. The vegetables were only delivered to us when we asked. 70 euros for the platter, 2 drinks and a parsley salad, not again. I'm happy to pay more, but then it has to be right.

Mezze starter for 2 people was tasty and sufficient. For the main course we had hummus with falafel, saffron rice and salad as well as a chicken skewer with fries. Unfortunately, the falafel had been fried for quite a long time, so they were dry and very hard on the outside. Meat was tender, fries a bit weak but ok. The price was okay but the taste could have been better.

The food is super delicious. And the staff is very, very nice. The only thing that bothers me is the smoke/smoke coming from the kitchen. Afterwards you smell very strongly of food. Otherwise only recommended.
