Restaurant rating: The food was excellent and is really recommended. Unfortunately, the positive impression was marred by the service: immediately after eating we were asked to pay the bill, even though there were still full glasses on the table and we had no intention of leaving. The reason: you need the table for other guests. Our reservation was for 7 p.m., the “eviction” took place at 8:30 p.m. However, there was no mention of a time limit when making the reservation. It's a shame that the evening ended so abruptly - it leaves a bad aftertaste despite the good cuisine. Super delicious food at fair prices, cozy atmosphere and nice staff!

We were in the restaurant with a group of eight people and felt completely at home. The service was excellent - the staff were very friendly, attentive and always tried to accommodate our needs. What is particularly noteworthy is that despite the larger group, our order was served quickly and without delays. The waiters were always there without being intrusive and gave us very good advice with recommendations about the menu. It was a pleasant atmosphere and we felt really well looked after. An all-round successful evening!

We were at Moma today with a group of five people. We got a table by the door that was set up for four people. We were a bit irritated and secretly hoped that our table would be different. I asked the young waitress in a completely neutral tone. She then explained that otherwise they would have added a table next to it. Understood. But then she said I shouldn't talk to her in that tone. I was neither loud nor snarky, but completely orderly. Of course I questioned whether everything was correct. That probably upset her. There was also a free finger raised. Conclusion - food was delicious, but such an attitude really ruins the evening. Addendum - Thanks for your answer, comedy is fine!

The service was super friendly. It was our first time in the restaurant because it was recommended to us and everything was perfect! The food was delicious and the restaurant is also beautifully decorated. We were able to totally enjoy the evening.

Best pizza in Giessen! Simply bomb!

I would also like to comment on our visit on St. Nicholas Friday, as we were a group of two (+baby) and I am also disappointed with the service and staff. The pizza is edible, that's for sure - I can't recommend the rest of this place based on our subjective experience in the shop. Unfortunately the staff are very unfriendly, not to mention the owner. You might think that as an innkeeper you have mastered how to deal with customers in a polite manner. Unfortunately we were treated very unfriendly and inhospitable here. Our baby, who was present, was probably the problem for the boss - so we were apparently "at the bottom" from the start and this man could no longer be persuaded to be friendly. The icing on the cake was that we were charged 5 euros for a PAPER card that arrived at half past eight, already completely filthy from the start and just hanging on a paper clip, because the baby in an unnoticed moment left it hanging at half past seven PAPER card in hand and the last office clip has come loose. It seems like things are going very badly for the restaurant if they charge for paper tickets. As if a baby would do something like that on purpose!? This is simply incomprehensible to me. Apparently you couldn't talk about it politely like civilized people and get rid of problems - instead you thought you had to give up all friendliness - although that was already very sparse from the start. Friendliness is different and so of course you don't want to go to this restaurant anymore. Incidentally, the owner's answers to any critical reviews are only a reflection of how customers are treated! You can get a nice picture there.

The pizza is delicious, but relatively expensive - and since you somehow not only “pay” for the food, but also for good service, I can only say: ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMENDED. The service is UNDERGROUND; really out of this world! Except for a very nice middle-aged Italian waiter, all other employees - and especially the boss - are unfriendly and inhospitable. You simply shouldn't treat your guests like that... About our 45 minute experience in this restaurant this evening: We stopped by spontaneously, the two of us with a baby, and asked if anything was available, otherwise we would move on. They said yes and gave us a tiny table for two in the hallway - but okay. That wouldn't have been a problem at all. The “problem” in the form of a boss came two minutes later, we didn’t even order the drinks, with the words “that shouldn’t sound negative (but it sounded like that 😅, very negative!!!) but that has to be here now “Go quickly, I need the table straight away.” Apparently the place thinks of itself as a more “upscale” restaurant, but the menu looks like it’s from a snack bar – simply on paper. So does the wine list. Unfortunately, my little 13-month-old daughter got one of those tattered and creased paper wine lists in her hand and used it to loosen the second paper clip that holds the pages together in the middle. We were then charged 5 euros(!) for the card. This was told to us in a very flippant and arrogant manner by the waitress, who had never heard of the phrase “the guest/customer is king” because we had never been served so unfriendly and simply badly. You can only wish this restaurant had friendly staff, it's really a disgrace. I actually wanted to try out the place in advance for a celebration - now I'm very, very happy to have gotten a feel for the place and to be able to look for a friendlier atmosphere with nice waitresses. Going out like that is just not fun. Addendum: Unfortunately, you can wait in vain for “good nature” and “hospitality” here. The owner's answers to legitimate criticism, which are immediately personal and baseless (see also all the previous critical reviews) show more of a picture of the "mind" of the owner - just like the answers here on Google, by the way Guest treated. The restaurant is certainly appropriate for a quick, impersonal business lunch if you like the atmosphere and the “hospitality” of the staff - but I would definitely not recommend a romantic dinner or a get-together with friends based on the experience with my family last night . This is our completely subjective opinion. As I said - the answers and the treatment of the guests in general says more about the owner than about his customers - fortunately we are not the only ones who legitimately criticize the service and gaslighting in the answer format doesn't help either. The perception of being unwanted that was there from second one did not deceive us and was real. It's unfortunate that you still "take money out of the customers' pockets" instead of telling them that the place is too full or whatever - there are soooo great places on the entire Plockstrasse that we would have used - Within walking distance there is a great Italian who has really made hospitality a sport and has high expectations of himself to be friendly to customers! You can have an excellent experience there - whether with children, as a couple, with family - you will be welcomed. We would have liked to have been spared yesterday evening, Gießen definitely doesn't need this place and given the movements in this place before, it certainly won't last long with such impulsive, completely unreflective answers (and of course the behavior in general).

Very nice atmosphere and friendly service. Really pleasant. It's a shame, however, that we didn't like the pasta. Bland. Hardly any spices. And anything but truly Italian. There used to be a Persian restaurant in the shop that I liked, but this ristorante has as much in common with Italian cuisine as ghormeh sabzi (a Persian meal) has with pork knuckle, namely nothing. The pasta was supposed to taste like lemon 🍋...well, it was floating in water and somewhere I found three small lemon zests. My friend had ordered the pasta with fillet tips, but she was desperately looking for fillet in the dish. All in all, not a culinary highlight for us.

During a visit six months ago, the boss of this restaurant noticed me displaying uncivilized behavior: He absolutely didn't want me to ask one or two questions to the counter worker and even make some small talk with this person. He also accused me of approaching the two people at the next table in the next moment and disturbing their conversation. That wasn't my intention at all. Is the boss crazy, is he angry with some guests (see also his comments on various reviews)? The boss of this restaurant definitely comes from a less educated background!

Super nice evening. Service was very pleasant...always there but not intrusive. The menu isn't too full but everything is so good that it's hard to decide. Price-performance ratio great. We'll be back.

A very big recommendation! I've never had such good gluten-free pizza. A very warm boss who cares deeply about customer contact and well-being. Great team, cozy and modern furnishings, very good food - what more could you want?

We were there with a large group and we all got the food at the same time and it worked out very well! Pizza and home-baked bread were very tasty!

This lunchtime we had dinner at MOMA and were able to try different dishes. You can tell that no finished goods are being served here. Especially with a pizza or the pizza rolls, which are served as a side dish to the starter at the extremely plentiful and delicious lunch menu, you immediately notice that the dough is homemade and extremely digestible! All dishes are freshly prepared here with a lot of love! The furnishings are really cozy (not overloaded and tasteful) and what should be particularly highlighted is the extremely friendly and competent service! phew, well I have to say, the type of answers to criticism is really not okay and doesn't suggest a good character. That's why I won't visit this restaurant and certainly won't recommend it - on the contrary!

I ended up here while passing through and wouldn't go here again, one of the most outrageous restaurants I've been to. After a while we were actually thrown out as a group (despite reservations) because the table was still reserved for other people. I've never experienced anything like that. In addition, you cannot pay individually, but only as a group, which was only revealed to us during the payment process. An exception could not be made here. The prices are definitely overpriced for the service and do not correspond to those in the pictures that other guests have already posted here, you should be aware of that. Overall, simply unprofessional handling and not a recommendable restaurant Update on the extremely friendly reaction: Your reaction alone shows how unprofessionally you treat your customers and that you cannot accept any criticism. We were there for 2.5 hours and each ordered something to eat and drinks. Nobody told us that the table was only free for 2.5 hours. We certainly didn't wait for a train. There is obviously a mix-up here. In any case, it's very polite the way you talk about your guests... ("Stupid saying"; "that you can't read") That says it all. The main thing is that you have invented a few negative facts about (supposedly) us so that you don't appear in such a bad light (the ability to criticize wouldn't be entirely a disadvantage in the catering industry either). But don't worry, our friends in Giessen won't come by your place anymore either.

A great place to stay and relax on a Saturday evening. Even though we only went there for a nightcap and dessert (after we unfortunately weren't served as planned in the restaurant next door - another review ;-)), the service and quality were really top! I have rarely experienced such a delicious tiramisu - served really quickly and courteously. The waitresses there were very attentive and always friendly. The mood and ambience were very relaxed and left us looking forward to more. Thank you for bringing our evening to a lovely conclusion. We would love to come back! Next time with a full dinner - next date night :)

The pizza was excellent. The service was unfriendly and disastrous. A salad with grilled vegetables as a vegan option was not possible. Just grilled vegetables on a pizza plus a side salad. We should keep the cutlery after the starter. Here, too, a separate invoice was only possible upon request - there were discrepancies in the billing. The “create your own” pizza was not calculated with the base price and ingredients - as advertised in the menu - but as a modification of a regular pizza. The boss could only answer questions - in a tone and with a sharpness that no restaurateur should use to the customer. Customer service - impossible!

We sat outside at Momà's - very comfortable at a beautifully decorated table with friendly service staff. The Aperol Spritz went wonderfully with the summer evening and we had pizza and pasta - the pasta dishes are not run-of-the-mill like you see in other restaurants, but there are a lot of innovative things that I haven't seen on any other menu. Very very tasty! The pizza was nice and thin and well topped, baked just right. For dessert we had panna cotta made by the boss himself--- and to be honest: none of us had ever had such a fantastic panna cotta! We were only in Giessen to visit a friend and now we envy the locals for this great place to go out! Definitely a recommendation!

Finally a great Italian restaurant on Plockstrasse again. In addition to fantastic pasta and very good starters, the pizza oven is also impressive. Even though pizza offers are currently sprouting up like mushrooms in Gießen, the selection and quality of the pizzas here is really highly recommended. I also particularly like the lunch offer. You can currently choose a main course plus starter or main course plus dessert for €15.50. The selection here follows a reduced menu, which also includes vegetarian and vegan options. The outdoor area is very nice to sit on Plockstrasse. Inside, the back part of the restaurant could be made a little more inviting. I would like a little more hospitality. Then you'll feel twice as good alongside the fantastic food. Overall, a great asset to Giessen.

I was there with my daughter and tried the 3 course lunch menu. All the dishes were delicious, very lovingly prepared and there were large enough portions. The service was excellent and attentive. We also really liked the ambience. We had a nice conversation with the chef and the owner. We will definitely come back.

There were three of us in the restaurant and we ended up here quite by chance. Just the discovery that gluten-free dishes are offered made me very happy. The food was good too. Apart from the fact that one pizza was really extremely black on parts of the edge and when the waitress was asked about it, she simply turned around and walked away without comment, and the other person's plate was almost cleared away while she was still eating, it was ok. The gluten-free pizza was actually too tasty to be gluten-free. Unfortunately, the service person was very annoyed and made you feel that she actually didn't want the job. It wasn't extremely crowded when we were there either. When we wanted the bill, the box was slammed on the table and told us that we had to pay €60. To the question “everyone” the only answer was “together of course, you can pay it among yourself and divide it up.” Since this was of course not what she wanted, she turned around and just hissed, then I have to get a calculator. We've never experienced anything like this anywhere. I got the correct receipt as soon as I got home. I haven't felt as dirty as I have in a long time. I had to vomit several times and was in extreme pain. It was then clear that the pizza was anything but gluten-free. I spent the whole night struggling with the worst gluten accident of all time. So I will definitely never go to this restaurant again. And if you rely on gluten-free and don't see it as a “fad”, I can only advise you to stay away from it.

We ate there with a group of 20 people. The meal was excellent. We had the starter platter and three different pasta plates as the main course. The Bolognese is highly recommended. The staff was very friendly and attentive as was the boss. Overall a very good experience and we would like to come back.

You have to forgive 1 star... There were still a few tables available when we (2 adults and two children aged 2 and 4) sat down at a free table right next to the entrance. The waitress came, walked past, took a dessert order two tables away. The waiter came, looked at us, walked past and greeted guests who came after us. Waitress again, had seen us, passed us at another table and asked if they wanted any more drinks. This went on for a good 15 minutes and each time they HAD to walk past us... When my husband got up because we decided to leave because we weren't even greeted and apparently weren't good enough to be served, the waitress came running. My husband just said that we don't want to eat here anymore, to which the lady said, "well, your decision" I can't tell you whether the problem was the children, my husband's work clothes or the casual clothes and flip flops I was wearing... But at least a "Good evening, I'll be with you in a moment" would have been enough for us to... feel welcome!

New pizzeria in Giessen's Fressgass with beautiful outdoor dining. Very good stone oven pizza, delicious starters and decent wines. Reasonable prices.

We got our drinks very quickly, but the food took an hour to arrive. Another couple who came 10 minutes later than us and had chosen a starter received the starter and the pizzas after only 15 minutes. The waitress then told the other waitress that these were our pizzas, which was not the case. No apology was offered, nor was any small thing offered as compensation. There was also no reduction in price or any other goodwill shown. After we were a little upset when paying that there wasn't an apology or accommodating, we were compulsively apologised. It was really very disappointing and I expected more. Nevertheless, the pizzas were delicious.

We went to Momà Ristorante for the first time today because of the good reviews. We were welcomed very warmly at the beginning and took a seat outside. The chairs in the outdoor area were very comfortable and ensure that you can linger comfortably. The menu has a small but fine selection. We decided on pizza and absolutely loved it. The dough is nice and thin and crispy. The tomato sauce and cheese are very tasty and that's what makes a pizza so special. This address is definitely high up in Giessen and the surrounding area. We thank you for the great food and will definitely come back 🙏🙂

The two of us went there around 2 p.m. and ordered a pizza. After we placed the order, 2 minutes later the waitress said the oven was broken. What kind of argument is this? If the oven is broken, why is the store open? The statement was so obvious that you wouldn't want to turn on the oven to make a pizza! I have rarely experienced anything so unfriendly! So the next time the oven breaks down, you'll know why!

We came with a group of girls and had reservations, which is especially important on the weekend. What's particularly worth mentioning is that gluten-free pasta is finally available here - a win for everyone! And the food tasted excellent and we were very satisfied. Only the service could have been a little more attentive. However, she was always very friendly and polite, but took her time clearing things up and didn't ask about the food and actually didn't ask for drinks or anything else and only came over when we wanted the bill. A pity. Despite everything, we would love to come back. A lot of things often still have to fall into place and when there's a lot going on, you can't be everywhere at the same time.

Underground service. We waited over an hour for the food. Food was ok. The next day the “nice” owner calls and says we paid for the neighboring table. Apparently the waitress didn't manage to assign the tables. Threatens us with legal action. If you treat customers like that, the store will soon be empty. Absolute mistake.

Because I was traveling to Giessen for work, I wanted to eat Persian food with my family. When we arrived at the restaurant, the waitress said that this restaurant does not serve Persian food, even though the menu is still online!

At Kish Resturan in Frankfurt for 17 € you can get 2 large lamb skewer kebab kubideh + more rice + larger tomato + free tea + halva (sweet) before starter (cheese + bread + herbs) and dessert. Compared to other Persian restaurants in Germany, this is incredibly expensive even though it is in a smaller town!!!! I recommend the restaurant manager to make better offers and serve more customers to collect more customers. Persian cuisine is the best when there are good food offers like Kish Resturan in Frankfurt.

Absolutely excellent cuisine!! Cold soup a real hit, grade one plus with stars!! Great starter plate, interesting selection, Ghorme Sabsi is a dream, even vegetables exceptionally good! Very charming service too! Similar to tapas, there is a large selection of small treats to put together yourself. The Daloon is an absolute recommendation if you want to taste a little more exotic. - - - - Currently, as of October 12th, 2023, unfortunately temporarily closed. We hope that it can be reopened at some point if staff can be found. We always enjoyed the food and the atmosphere and would be very happy if we could see each other again in 2024. - - - -

I've been there several times, the food is absolutely amazing and can easily compete with Frankfurter. Try it yourself and you'll see.

We waited 15 minutes for the menu, drinks didn't arrive for over 20 minutes. The restaurant was at most half full. The food doesn't taste particularly good, there is far better Persian cuisine. The price is also quite high. The service could be much more accommodating, Persian hospitality looks different. The toilet is very small, only one for many people on the men's urinal right at the same height next to the sink. 🫣 No recommendation from my side. The ambience is quite appealing and the selection of drinks is not bad. There could be a lot more here, what a shame!

Wie eine kulinarische Entführung in 1001 Nacht: Ein Dinner voller duftender Gewürze, fein abgeschmeckter persischer Köstlichkeiten und authentischer, sehr zuvorkommender Bedienungen. Es war die reinste Geruchs- und Geschmackspalette mit sehr liebevoller Atmosphäre. Es war perfekt!!!

Wir waren am Wochenende zum zweiten Mal im Daloon und unser positiver Eindruck vom letzten Mal hat sich wieder bestätigt. Das Essen ist sehr gut, von den verschiedenen Vorspeisen über die Hauptgänge bis zum ausgewählten Nachtisch (Tipp: Der Granatapfel-Walnuss-Dip ist ein Traum ebenso wie die hausgemachte Limo mit Chiasamen!). Das Ambiente ist stilvoll und gleichzeitig gemütlich, aber am meisten hat uns auch dieses Mal wieder der Service beeindruckt. Herzlich, beinahe familiär, unheimlich aufmerksam ohne aufdringlich zu sein - schlicht perfekt. Keine Frage und kein Wunsch bleibt offen. Man fühlt sich einfach wohl und hat einen tollen Abend. So muss Gastronomie sein! Schön, dass es in Gießen wieder so einen Laden wie das Daloon gibt.

Ich war vor ca. zwei Wochen mit meiner Mutter im Daloon essen. Das Daloon ist mit Abstand das beste persische Restaurant im ganzen Umkreis. Der Service war super freundlich, das Essen super frisch und lecker und obendrein war das Essen auch noch super schnell zubereitet. Wir hatten wirklich rein gar nichts auszusetzen. Die Preise sind meiner Meinung nach vollkommen angebracht, gerade wenn man bedenkt, dass das Daloon mitten in der Stadt liegt und die Lebensmittelpreise seit der Inflation enorm in die Höhe geschossen sind. Da mein Vater Perser ist, kennen wir die persische Küche sehr gut und dementsprechend möchte ich nochmal ein ganz großes Lob an das ganze Daloon-Team und vor allem an die Küche aussprechen! Das war definitiv nicht unser letzter Besuch und ich kann jedem das Restaurant nur wärmstens empfehlen! :)

Rundum verdiente 5 Sterne. Sehr freundlicher Service. Das Essen ist sehr gut, ich habe den Eindruck man legt Wert auf Qualität statt Quantität, es gibt auch eine gute Auswahl an vegetarischen Gerichten. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Das Ambiente ist sehr schön und einladend. Auch das Personal ist sehr freundlich und serviceorientiert. Leider hat uns das Essen überhaupt geschmeckt. Die Karte ist sehr überschaubar, sodass wir alle Gerichte einmal bestellt hatten. Das Fleisch wirkte als wenn es auf einem Elektrokontaktgrill zubereitet wurde und war kaum gewürzt. Die Teller waren mit wenig Liebe angerichtet und es fehlten zu den Fleischgerichten etwas Grillgemüse. Die Preise sind leider ok Vergleich zu türkischer Gastronomie sehr hoch. Unsere Teller gingen halbvoll wieder zurück.

Das gesamte Personal war so freundlich, wir haben uns wirklich sehr wohl gefühlt und das Ambiente ist auch toll. Wir werden definitiv wiederkommen und können es jedem empfehlen.
