Sharing is forbidden! The four of us wanted a cozy meal and ordered a platter for two people (€24.90 per head) as an appetizer, as well as a main course each. Shortly afterward, the waitress returned: "We made a little extra." Translation: extrapolated to four people without asking. Our repeated explanations that we had only ordered for two people bounced off us like water off a non-stick pan. Finally, the "compromise": only pay for three people. Then the manager came – as friendly as a downpour at a wedding – and explained to us that if four people are sitting at the table and eating from it, four people have to pay. Logic à la MoMà: "No sharing, or you'll pay." We paid for the drinks, left the appetizer untouched, and left. Accordingly, we can't comment on the quality of the food, as we didn't have a single fork in our mouths. Conclusion: If you want to eat here, you should bring one thing above all else – no desire to share anything.

Two polite eleven-year-old boys – my son and his cousin – wanted to share a pizza at MoMA around 2 p.m. They had €30 in cash. Actually, that was enough – we thought. This behavior unfortunately confirms what many have already experienced: Anyone who expresses criticism here is not taken seriously – but attacked. Online and offline. My meal was solid. My companion had specifically requested no chili. The pizza came with chili. Instead of making us a new pizza, we were given a voucher for a Prosecco on our next visit. Mistakes happen, and it's not a big deal, but I think not simply making a new pizza is bad. Especially for a €20 pizza, customer service looks different to me. (Only lowered the two stars after the owner's response.) Edit following the owner's very unprofessional and insulting response: We were not offered a replacement pizza. We were offered to have the chili and salami removed in the kitchen. For €20, I find that unacceptable. We communicated all of this directly and clearly to you and your staff. This was the best gluten-free pizza I have ever eaten. Unfortunately there is only gluten-free pasta available. Very unfortunate and sad. According to the accompaniment, the normal pizza also tastes great. I also think the unusual toppings are great. Not always just Tuscany etc.

The food was very, very tasty. There was Neapolitan pizza and pasta with meatballs which were also excellent. It's a cozy restaurant. The waitress was very friendly, but she took away my plate where I had just taken the last bite. That surprised me a bit. I would also like to comment on our visit on St. Nicholas Friday, as we were a group of two (+baby) and I am also disappointed with the service and staff. The pizza is edible, that's for sure - I can't recommend the rest of this place based on our subjective experience in the shop. Unfortunately the staff are very unfriendly, not to mention the owner. You might think that as an innkeeper you have mastered how to deal with customers in a polite manner. Unfortunately we were treated very unfriendly and inhospitable here. Our baby, who was present, was probably the problem for the boss - so we were apparently "at the bottom" from the start and this man could no longer be persuaded to be friendly. The icing on the cake was that we were charged 5 euros for a PAPER card that arrived at half past eight, already completely filthy from the start and just hanging on a paper clip, because the baby in an unnoticed moment left it hanging at half past seven PAPER card in hand and the last office clip has come loose. It seems like things are going very badly for the restaurant if they charge for paper tickets. As if a baby would do something like that on purpose!? This is simply incomprehensible to me. They said yes and gave us a tiny table for two in the hallway - but okay. That wouldn't have been a problem at all. We were then charged 5 euros(!) for the card. There used to be a Persian restaurant in the shop that I liked, but this ristorante has as much in common with Italian cuisine as ghormeh sabzi (a Persian meal) has with pork knuckle, namely nothing. The pasta was supposed to taste like lemon 🍋...well, it was floating in water and somewhere I found three small lemon zests. My friend had ordered the pasta with fillet tips, but she was desperately looking for fillet in the dish. All in all, not a culinary highlight for us.

During a visit six months ago, the boss of this restaurant noticed me displaying uncivilized behavior: He absolutely didn't want me to ask one or two questions to the counter worker and even make some small talk with this person. He also accused me of approaching the two people at the next table in the next moment and disturbing their conversation. That wasn't my intention at all. This lunchtime we had dinner at MOMA and were able to try different dishes. You can tell that no finished goods are being served here. Especially with a pizza or the pizza rolls, which are served as a side dish to the starter at the extremely plentiful and delicious lunch menu, you immediately notice that the dough is homemade and extremely digestible! A great place to stay and relax on a Saturday evening. Even though we only went there for a nightcap and dessert (after we unfortunately weren't served as planned in the restaurant next door - another review ;-)), the service and quality were really top! I have rarely experienced such a delicious tiramisu - served really quickly and courteously. The waitresses there were very attentive and always friendly. The mood and ambience were very relaxed and left us looking forward to more. Thank you for bringing our evening to a lovely conclusion. We would love to come back! The pizza was excellent. The service was unfriendly and disastrous. A salad with grilled vegetables as a vegan option was not possible. Just grilled vegetables on a pizza plus a side salad. We should keep the cutlery after the starter. Here, too, a separate invoice was only possible upon request - there were discrepancies in the billing. The “create your own” pizza was not calculated with the base price and ingredients - as advertised in the menu - but as a modification of a regular pizza. The boss could only answer questions - in a tone and with a sharpness that no restaurateur should use to the customer. Customer service - impossible!

We sat outside at Momà's - very comfortable at a beautifully decorated table with friendly service staff. The Aperol Spritz went wonderfully with the summer evening and we had pizza and pasta - the pasta dishes are not run-of-the-mill like you see in other restaurants, but there are a lot of innovative things that I haven't seen on any other menu. Very very tasty! The pizza was nice and thin and well topped, baked just right. For dessert we had panna cotta made by the boss himself--- and to be honest: none of us had ever had such a fantastic panna cotta! We were only in Giessen to visit a friend and now we envy the locals for this great place to go out! Definitely a recommendation!

Finally a great Italian restaurant on Plockstrasse again. In addition to fantastic pasta and very good starters, the pizza oven is also impressive. Even though pizza offers are currently sprouting up like mushrooms in Gießen, the selection and quality of the pizzas here is really highly recommended. I also particularly like the lunch offer. You can currently choose a main course plus starter or main course plus dessert for €15.50. The selection here follows a reduced menu, which also includes vegetarian and vegan options. The outdoor area is very nice to sit on Plockstrasse. Inside, the back part of the restaurant could be made a little more inviting. I would like a little more hospitality. Then you'll feel twice as good alongside the fantastic food. Overall, a great asset to Giessen.

I was there with my daughter and tried the 3 course lunch menu. All the dishes were delicious, very lovingly prepared and there were large enough portions. The service was excellent and attentive. We also really liked the ambience. We had a nice conversation with the chef and the owner. We will definitely come back.

There were three of us in the restaurant and we ended up here quite by chance. Just the discovery that gluten-free dishes are offered made me very happy. The food was good too. Apart from the fact that one pizza was really extremely black on parts of the edge and when the waitress was asked about it, she simply turned around and walked away without comment, and the other person's plate was almost cleared away while she was still eating, it was ok. The gluten-free pizza was actually too tasty to be gluten-free. Unfortunately, the service person was very annoyed and made you feel that she actually didn't want the job. It wasn't extremely crowded when we were there either. When we wanted the bill, the box was slammed on the table and told us that we had to pay €60. To the question “everyone” the only answer was “together of course, you can pay it among yourself and divide it up.” Since this was of course not what she wanted, she turned around and just hissed, then I have to get a calculator. We've never experienced anything like this anywhere. I got the correct receipt as soon as I got home. I haven't felt as dirty as I have in a long time. I had to vomit several times and was in extreme pain. It was then clear that the pizza was anything but gluten-free. I spent the whole night struggling with the worst gluten accident of all time. So I will definitely never go to this restaurant again. And if you rely on gluten-free and don't see it as a “fad”, I can only advise you to stay away from it.

We ate there with a group of 20 people. The meal was excellent. We had the starter platter and three different pasta plates as the main course. The Bolognese is highly recommended. The staff was very friendly and attentive as was the boss. Overall a very good experience and we would like to come back.

We went here for lunch for the first time. The service was very friendly, the location was cozy - inside and out. The food was brought to the table quickly and was really great. We recommend this location and will definitely come back.

You have to forgive 1 star... There were still a few tables available when we (2 adults and two children aged 2 and 4) sat down at a free table right next to the entrance. The waitress came, walked past, took a dessert order two tables away. The waiter came, looked at us, walked past and greeted guests who came after us. Waitress again, had seen us, passed us at another table and asked if they wanted any more drinks. This went on for a good 15 minutes and each time they HAD to walk past us... When my husband got up because we decided to leave because we weren't even greeted and apparently weren't good enough to be served, the waitress came running. My husband just said that we don't want to eat here anymore, to which the lady said, "well, your decision" I can't tell you whether the problem was the children, my husband's work clothes or the casual clothes and flip flops I was wearing... But at least a "Good evening, I'll be with you in a moment" would have been enough for us to... feel welcome!

New pizzeria in Giessen's Fressgass with beautiful outdoor dining. Very good stone oven pizza, delicious starters and decent wines. Reasonable prices.

We got our drinks very quickly, but the food took an hour to arrive. Another couple who came 10 minutes later than us and had chosen a starter received the starter and the pizzas after only 15 minutes. The waitress then told the other waitress that these were our pizzas, which was not the case. No apology was offered, nor was any small thing offered as compensation. There was also no reduction in price or any other goodwill shown. After we were a little upset when paying that there wasn't an apology or accommodating, we were compulsively apologised. It was really very disappointing and I expected more. Nevertheless, the pizzas were delicious.

We went to Momà Ristorante for the first time today because of the good reviews. We were welcomed very warmly at the beginning and took a seat outside. The chairs in the outdoor area were very comfortable and ensure that you can linger comfortably. The menu has a small but fine selection. We decided on pizza and absolutely loved it. The dough is nice and thin and crispy. The tomato sauce and cheese are very tasty and that's what makes a pizza so special. This address is definitely high up in Giessen and the surrounding area. We thank you for the great food and will definitely come back 🙏🙂
