I've had the best pasta in ages, the Fettuccine alla Vecchia Romagna was incredibly delicious! The pizzas I tried from the other vendors were also great!

Very good Italian restaurant at the end of Mainz's old town where you can always eat well and drink a good red wine. The menu is very varied and there is something for every taste. A selection of good wines also invites you to linger longer. The service is nice and competent. In summer you can also spend the evening on the beautiful outdoor terrace with homemade ice cream. Definitely worth a visit. Price performance okay.

Totally normal good, no wow effect. Pasta was not hand made, sauce was quite ok. Not expencive, dinner for 2 - 48€

The food was very good and reasonably priced. However, the prices for drinks and the side salad were unreasonable. A bottle of water cost €7.70, a glass of Primitivo €8.10, and the side salad €9.50. It's a shame, we would have loved to come back!

November 18, 2025, lunchtime: The lasagna reminded me more of a designer object than a classic Italian lasagna, or what is generally prepared and served in this style. Creativity is generally welcome, but here the lasagna, what was under the cheese topping, seemed rather old, dry, and leftover, as if it had been pre-made in a stockpile, perhaps even taken from the freezer. The creativity was well-intentioned, but in my opinion, poorly executed to the detriment of the dish. The accompanying, very good tomato sauce was also rather meager. I will avoid this lasagna in the future. The second dish, "Combinazione al Forno," was very good. The service was also very attentive and typically Italian – warm and welcoming!

Yesterday, the two of us had lunch at Da Vito and were delighted. An authentic Italian restaurant with great service and excellent food. Highly recommended!

Certainly, not everyone eats ice cream on a foggy autumn day. But our vanilla ice cream wasn't good. It tasted bitter afterward and wasn't very creamy, so we ended up throwing it away.

Great pizza and pasta! Been here twice now and it’s easily my wife’s favourite gluten-free pizza. You have to come here if you’re celiac. The waiters are great and knowledgeable about the ingredients in the food. The atmosphere is a mix of after work people and tourists.

Despite a very short notice reservation, they managed to find a seat for us in the restaurant. We came for the gluten-free pizza and were not disappointed in the slightest. For us, it was the best gluten-free pizza we've ever had in a restaurant. The server was also very knowledgeable about the topic. For the first time, we were also able to enjoy a gluten-free dessert: they offer tiramisu and gluten-free cake. The staff were very nice and friendly. Unfortunately, we don't live nearby, but when we're back in Mainz, we know where to go!

We had a wonderful meal. The wine was excellent, and the service was excellent: prompt and friendly. All the dishes were delicious: bruschetta classico; the main course: squid, fries, and vegetables; and the dessert: a delicious cassation. Delicious!

So, after 20 years of excellent hospitality, warmth, superb quality food, and my favorite waitress, Hussein, I can recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to experience and taste the Dolce Vita.❤️

We spontaneously stopped by today while strolling through Mainz to enjoy ice cream and desserts and a coffee. The extremely attentive waiter showed us a lovely spot on the terrace. The spaghetti ice cream with Amarena cherries was excellent, and the tiramisu was also delicious. The cappuccino was delicious, too. Everything was perfect. We'll definitely try the hot dishes soon. A very well-kept restaurant in the center of Mainz.

We stopped by for a quick coffee and had a tiramisu! The coffee was particularly delicious, and the tiramisu was even enough for two. A random find, but absolutely recommended!

I can't comment on the food or service, but I wanted to use the restroom with my son because it was urgent, and then I was told I had to pay a euro. I did, so I did. We had previously considered eating there, but then decided against it.

This was our first time at this Italian restaurant, and our last. The service was friendly, but that in no way justifies the exorbitant prices for poor quality, which is completely out of proportion. This wasn't your typical homemade pizza, but rather pizza dough blanks that were both quite small and tasted very mediocre. We had ice cream sundaes for dessert. Also very expensive for subpar quality. My bill last night was considerably more expensive than for any other dinner on a trip to Tuscany. And that despite the fact that the quality here was light-years different. It was a real shame; it was a bad investment.

Came to have a coffee, but what i recieved was too bitter and tasted burnt. To top of this bad experience, we were ask to leave on after 15min because they over book their reservations. Never coming back to this place.

The pizza Parma was okay, but I've had tastier. The ambiance is nice, and the service is very friendly—that somewhat makes up for the experience.

If you buy ice cream in a cafe, they won't let you sit at a table to eat it 🤣This is the first time I've seen this. They asked for 7 percent for service, and that's for what I bought myself, and brought myself 🥲I'll never buy ice cream from them again. I don't recommend it to you.

This Italian cafe serves delicious pasta, we had seasonal Asparagus Ravioli and pizza. We started with a very fresh salad paired with a crisp Riesling. We spent about 68 euros for the two of us.

The food is really good. It tastes excellent. The tortellini are very tasty and you can really taste the different fillings. The service is nice and friendly. The waiting time isn't very long either. I can only recommend the restaurant.

The truffle pasta and the tiramisu were extremely tasty, the service staff were slightly stressed but super friendly, only our table was right in front of the entrance door despite a reservation and therefore not so nicely located.

Overall we liked it, especially the option to order gluten-free pizza and pasta. Unfortunately, the gluten-free dough was quite dry, especially the edge - I've tried better alternatives. Solid Italian, nothing special. Salad good, pasta dishes okay. The menu is very nicely written, but unfortunately the food can't keep up with what's special. The home-made pasta specialties are a nice detail. Depending on your requirements, we can recommend it to some extent.

We decided to visit this restaurant and were initially very satisfied. Everything went smoothly and we waited for our orders in a pleasant atmosphere. But when the food was served, my husband was told that he would have to order a drink with his meal on his next visit - that's the custom here. We have never seen such a regulation anywhere. Why should someone have to order a drink if they're not thirsty? These idiosyncratic “rules” surprised us and left a strange aftertaste. Despite the beautiful location in the middle of the historic old town, we unfortunately no longer feel the desire to visit this restaurant again.😔

Gluten-free - including absolute know-how on this topic. By chance we noticed a new employee being trained. She was strongly instructed about gluten intolerance vs. celiac disease with every precaution. The service was professional, friendly and courteous. The food was really incredibly tasty! So much love, you can taste it. We're 50/60 km away, but we'll definitely be back! Promised. Then also with reservation (highly recommended). War ganz nett.. Die Senior- Chefin bewacht den Eingang, man bekommt seinen Platz zugewiesen. Man muß sich nicht wundern, bei DER LAGE und das, seit über 30 Jahren, das ist eben ein "schnelles Restaurant" für Touristen. Ferttig! Der -wie man mir sagte- SELBSTGEMACHTE Kuchen sah auch so aus, war aber ganz lecker. Die kleine Tasse Capuccino zu 4,20€ ist eher heftig... (Aber man hat nebenbei die Möglichkeit in der Stadt, dort auch mal das -saubere- Klo zu nutzen!)

Excellent food in a top location in Mainz! Handmade pasta! We ate a pizza calzone and spaghetti gamberetti and it was so good... very good taste, super friendly service! For dessert, a panna cotta, which also tasted excellent. I can only highly recommend Vito! A real pleasure!!!

We haven't eaten so badly in a very long time!!! We ordered a starter and three main courses, Starter was really funny see picture, main course spaghetti arrabbiata, served cold, it really didn't taste like anything!!!! My husband ordered spaghetti di mare, the food was not acceptable, there were two mussels... and no tomato sauce as it says on the menu, and pizza wasn't good either! That hasn't happened yet that we gave food back! Overpriced, unfriendly... Too bad!

The world's best gluten-free pizza! And the other dishes leave nothing to be desired. The service is terrific. Where else can you find something like that today? In the end, all of this justifies the higher prices.

Caution!!! We just wanted to eat something and order 1 large water for everyone, but the waiter said that wasn't possible. “There’s a restaurant here! Every guest is obliged to order food and drinks.” Since we didn’t want to drink overpriced wine, we were shooed away like homeless people. “Otherwise you have to leave.” I've never experienced anything like that. I don't know if this is due to an unfriendly employee or the store's motto. Not normal

Italian restaurant with excellent food. The homemade pasta was excellent. You will be introduced at the entrance. The tables are close to each other, be prepared to hear everything from the neighboring table. Toilets in the basement. It is possible to buy a pastry to go. Beer and wine, both German, were good.

Netter Service, aber Essen nicht gut: Gleiche Pastagerichte in der Größe extrem unterschiedlich. Combinazione lieblos, keine Variation (1 Tortellini, jede Nenge Fettucine), langweiliges Saucengemisch. Insgesamt schlechtes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis.

We booked for dinner tonight as a four and one us has a very severe nut and egg allergy. We explained all to the waiter in German and in English, everyone understood and they promised this would be fine. The plate was brought out and the server told us the dusting around the plate was pistachio and then quickly changed his mind to spinach! As this allergy would kill her we of course did not consume the food due to the uncertainty and told the staff this. Another member of staff as well as the server both came over to the table and were rude and in our faces that we hadn’t eaten the food! They also then brough pistachio dust over and put it right in front of the girls face to prove it looked different to the spinach which also could have caused anaphylaxis if she hadn’t have been quick enough to move away. All staff including the manager on shift were rude, shouting in our face, and very argumentative as we said we wouldn’t be paying 33 euros for her meal due to it being such awful service that ultimately could’ve caused death. From working in hospitality myself, I am outraged how such carelessness is allowed to operate every day as this could have caused somebody to end up in hospital or dead. We paid for the rest of our food and left swiftly however I would appreciate if somebody higher up could get into contact with me regarding this complaint as the response we received to it tonight was disgusting.

I've been looking for an original carbonara for a long time (without cream) and I finally found it here. Beautiful ambience, warm and welcoming service and even better food. By far one of the best Italian restaurants in Germany! I recommend everyone who has the opportunity to stop by here.

We came here on a Saturday night without a reservation and asked if they had a table for two. They let us know they could squeeze us in in a few minutes and I really appreciated that since we did not have a reservation. Our waiter was great. He spoke so many languages and we were able to converse with him in several of them. The restaurant was full but the service was good and our food came out within a reasonable amount of time. The food here was amazing. We shared the Pizza Parma, the spaghetti gamberetti, and both of them were perfect. For the spaghetti, they used a small shrimp and personally I think a larger prawn would’ve been better. The pizza was the star out of the two though. You could taste how good the ingredients were. The pizza crust was perfectly crispy with a nice bite to it. We ended the night with some tiramisu and espresso. The tiramisu was light and delicious. We really enjoyed this restaurant for the service and food. I definitely would recommend this restaurant and would come back to try some of their other items. They accepted card or cash so that was convenient.

So the ice cream is water with flavor... the finished powder is still in the ice cream itself. The waffle costs 3 cents at Metro
