I've been looking for an original carbonara for a long time (without cream) and I finally found it here. Beautiful ambience, warm and welcoming service and even better food. By far one of the best Italian restaurants in Germany! I recommend everyone who has the opportunity to stop by here.

We booked for dinner tonight as a four and one us has a very severe nut and egg allergy. We explained all to the waiter in German and in English, everyone understood and they promised this would be fine. The plate was brought out and the server told us the dusting around the plate was pistachio and then quickly changed his mind to spinach! As this allergy would kill her we of course did not consume the food due to the uncertainty and told the staff this. Another member of staff as well as the server both came over to the table and were rude and in our faces that we hadn’t eaten the food! They also then brough pistachio dust over and put it right in front of the girls face to prove it looked different to the spinach which also could have caused anaphylaxis if she hadn’t have been quick enough to move away. All staff including the manager on shift were rude, shouting in our face, and very argumentative as we said we wouldn’t be paying 33 euros for her meal due to it being such awful service that ultimately could’ve caused death. From working in hospitality myself, I am outraged how such carelessness is allowed to operate every day as this could have caused somebody to end up in hospital or dead. We paid for the rest of our food and left swiftly however I would appreciate if somebody higher up could get into contact with me regarding this complaint as the response we received to it tonight was disgusting.

We came here on a Saturday night without a reservation and asked if they had a table for two. They let us know they could squeeze us in in a few minutes and I really appreciated that since we did not have a reservation. Our waiter was great. He spoke so many languages and we were able to converse with him in several of them. The restaurant was full but the service was good and our food came out within a reasonable amount of time. The food here was amazing. We shared the Pizza Parma, the spaghetti gamberetti, and both of them were perfect. For the spaghetti, they used a small shrimp and personally I think a larger prawn would’ve been better. The pizza was the star out of the two though. You could taste how good the ingredients were. The pizza crust was perfectly crispy with a nice bite to it. We ended the night with some tiramisu and espresso. The tiramisu was light and delicious. We really enjoyed this restaurant for the service and food. I definitely would recommend this restaurant and would come back to try some of their other items. They accepted card or cash so that was convenient.

I was out and about in the old town in Mainz again on Saturday. This time there was delicious pizza and a cold Hefeweizen. The service was super friendly. Here too you can eat and enjoy outside. The only thing I have to complain about is that the pizza should have been baked a little longer then it would have been perfect.

We visited the restaurant because they offered gluten-free options on their website and we are dependent on it due to illness. The staff and the ambience in the restaurant were really great. The gluten-free pizzas we ordered were also simply fantastic. Just feeling normal was an incredible feeling. Our trip was only marred by a large Italian family at the next table with several small children who were screaming extremely. It's a shame, because otherwise it would have been a perfect evening.

Schöne Location mit Plätzen auch draußen an der Fußgängerzone. Sehr freundlich und herzlich wurden wir empfangen zu unserem reservierten Tisch im Außenbereich geleitet. Es gab leckere, italienische Küche, perfekt zubereitet (Verschiedene Tortelloni, Trüffelpasta und Pizza). Perfekt durch den Abend begleitet hat uns Juri (hoffentlich haben wir uns den Namen richtig behalten), es war sehr lustig! Auch die Inhaber waren um die Göste sehr bemüht. An zwei Nachmittagen waren wir noch zum Eisessen, hausgemacht! Ebenfalls sehr zu empfehlen.

Very unfriendly employees!!! Overpriced

We came as a couple, everything inside was empty, but it was pleasant to sit. Waiter a bit impatient. Three types of bruschette came. "Tuna cream" was simply canned tuna, not "cream", "olive cheese crust" was soft and not crusty, the bread was floppy, not crispy. Tortelloni came with the wrong sauce. I drank Pinot Grigio, boss rolled his eyes because I asked for ice cubes. The wine didn't need that, he noted. Please leave this to your guests! Service is everything for a good deal, you believe that only location is enough...

Best Italian far and wide! We had a wonderful evening at “Da Vito” with excellent food and service. Rarely have we eaten such good pasta and received such a warm welcome and advice. It's just a dream on the terrace in summer. We can highly recommend the tortelloni variation, the lasagna and the fettucine with veal cubes in brandy sauce (most likely every dish here tastes excellent, but we really liked these 3 dishes). Thank you very much for the hospitality, the excellent food and the beautiful ambience. We were here for the first time, but we are already sure: “Da Vito” will be our new regular Italian restaurant! Even if we have to take a longer journey to get there - it's worth it!

Unfortunately, the first visit was also the last. From the beginning all the service employees were very unfriendly and incompetent. The waiter knocked over the tray of drinks, which got a friend's clothes wet. No apology and no compensation in any form whatsoever. After we placed our order, we were told that some things couldn't be ordered (don't we know that when we placed the order?). We then waited over 2 hours for our food, even though the restaurant was only very lightly attended in the outdoor area. The food didn't save the overall impression.

It's just a shame what the waiter does. As if he had a system-relevant job. I came with my mother (who wears a headscarf) and my husband, we wanted a table for three. Four tables were free outside. He looks around half-heartedly and says you can sit inside, everything is occupied. He has done this before where everything outside was really empty. It may be that he would like to act out, but seriously, please don't exaggerate your role. We like to leave the money at the great ice cream parlor next door. You will be served with a smile and also quickly and politely.

I didn't expect to find a place that had delicious gluten free tiramisu alongside gluten free options for both pizza and pasta. Lovely atmosphere as well , and service was nice and friendly. The menu also has English descriptions next to items so I didn't even need to use a translator app.

Very tasty food at rather high prices, but the food is worth the money! Handmade pasta! Nice ambience. Most dishes, including pizza and pasta, are available gluten-free for an additional charge and are suitable for those with celiac disease. There is even gluten-free tiramisu. Cakes and many different ice cream creations are also available. You can sit on the terrace or nearby under the trees. We would like to come again!

The restaurant only benefits from the location. The food was actually quite okay, some portions are a bit cheeky but compared to the service it's good. I have to say I have never been treated so unkindly by a restaurant manager. We just walked in and her demeanor was outrageous. If it hadn't been a reservation for 12 people, I would have immediately turned around and left the restaurant. It's only because of her that I will never come back and tell everyone around me how unfriendly she was and how she made very unnecessary, slightly provocative comments, which she later labeled as fun. She then attacked us as to why we didn't understand how to joke.

A very family and child friendly restaurant! We really enjoyed the pizza. Were in Mainz as tourists and ended up there by chance.

The service was super unfriendly and hectic, we asked for an appetizer and were told in a totally rude manner that it wasn't available today, only pizza bread... (there was bruchetta on the table next to us). We waited over an hour for our food, the pizza was delicious but my truffle pasta was simply a scandal! They advertise truffle butter and freshly grated truffles, but I ended up with more of a truffle mush on my plate with cans of Champions (which wasn't in the description). The pasta was absolutely hard and definitely not al dente. All in all, I'm pretty disappointed and dissatisfied. If I ever set foot in there again, it would only be to get something to drink.

Not recommended, a lot of hype about nothing. •Service: Waiters were unfriendly & out of touch. A drink fell off the tray, my companion and the table was wet. No greetings from the kitchen or anything like that as an apology. Our service was interrupted in the meantime, regardless of whether it was assigning a table, bringing food or paying. •Waiting time: If the shop is empty and you're still waiting for food, it's stupid. When there's a lot going on, it takes time, no question. But that was an imposition. •Value for money: I had 6 tortelloni/tortellini for a good €17. I say nothing more about this.

Unfortunately we waited almost 2 hours for our food. In the meantime, the waiter poured beer over one of our guests. There was no compensation, either as an offer from the operators or upon request. Unfortunately, the meal itself was very small and unspectacular for the rather overpriced price of almost €20. Unfortunately the waiter wasn't particularly friendly.

We've been there several times, only once was the service friendly, the other times it was super rude and unfriendly, we had to wait forever until someone from the service came, even though there was hardly anything going on and the waitresses were standing around. The pizza for €18 is a joke and an outrage, small with a hard edge, none of us were happy and we won't be coming back.

It was nice, probably the first house on the site. On the first evening, when there was a lot of free time, we were treated excellently. On the test evening we just wanted wine and cake...we weren't so welcome because it was full. I didn't want the street space either...or I would have had to pay less 🤔

Absolutely not recommended for eating ice cream. There isn't even a scoop of ice cream in the iced chocolate and that's for the price of €7.40

My last visit was very disappointing. I've been there a few times before and everything was fine. This time I ordered a lasagna, but had to send it back because the minced meat was still half raw, which the waiter was reluctant to accept. The piece then went into the oven for a few minutes and was served to me again. By now, however, I had lost my appetite, so I didn't finish my dish. The waiter commented on this with: “Was that still not right?” I don't think I have to justify it. I didn't want to give a tip for the reasons mentioned above. However, the waiter simply kept it for himself and didn't give me any change. I found that very bold!

The pizzas are a little more expensive, but the toppings are generous and taste very good. There are classic Italian drinks and a good selection of food on the menu. The employees are attentive and quick.

We had lunch there today and were seated in a friendly manner at our quiet table. The service was very polite and quickly read our every wish. We can particularly recommend the carpaccio and bruscetta but also the classic carbonara, which all tasted excellent. With a total of €100 you have everything covered from starter to dessert. Small request for improvement; Offer salt and especially pepper at your free disposal on every table so that you can season it as desired. Otherwise, big praise!

Ich war zu einer Jubiläumsfeier eingeladen und muss sagen der Service war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Die Speisen leider nicht. Das Antipasti wenn man es überhaupt so nennen kann bestand zu Hälfte aus gerollter Wurst. Die Lasagne war für ein Restaurant das mit selbstgemachter Pasta wirbt unterirdisch, von al dente keine Spur und von Gewürzen auch nicht ( einfach geschmacklos ) . Die anschließende Pizza konnte man essen, der Belag war allerdings sehr dürftig.

Food seemed very tasty, which is why we sat down there (we were assigned a table). When after about 15 minutes no waiter came to us, we started waving to the waiters. But they were not taken into account. After over 25 minutes of no attention (the waiter was nearby and cashed in others, but didn't come to us afterwards) So in the end we left without eating any of the delicious looking food.

If you want to eat here, you should take some time. We had a reserved table and had to wait about half an hour for our drinks and then a little longer for our food. Most of the noodle portions weren't very large, although they aren't exactly cheap. The spicy pizza wasn't spicy, which is a shame because the menu said it was very spicy.

The food was ok but very overpriced considering the portion size. With one exception, the older gentlemen, the staff were irritable and impatient. We had had something to drink shortly before and just wanted to eat something. The waitress said that we wouldn't get anything to eat without ordering a drink. “This is a restaurant.”

One of the best restaurants in the Rhine/Main area. My personal favorite spot for good Italian cuisine. The pasta dishes are great every time you visit. The operation alone deserves its own review (of course a very good one). The price-performance ratio is also good. A clear recommendation.

The food is delicious, the service is very attentive and courteous. It's relatively loud in the restaurant, but that's because Germans don't know anything about conversation and always have to shout. It is therefore advisable to eat outside if the temperatures allow it. Then a star is added for enjoyment.

No matter whether it's a starter, main course, dessert or whatever... there isn't a dish that you wouldn't recommend. Warm host family and great service staff who anticipate your every wish. I can't understand negative reviews. Please always book your table in advance, it makes things a lot easier. Always a pleasure, and for us it is “the” address for Italian food!

Today we were at Da Vito for the first time and certainly the last time. We made reservations 3 weeks ago for 7 p.m. The reserved table was free, but we were not allowed to sit there. Apparently the table was reserved beforehand!!! When we left the restaurant the table was still not occupied (between 7:00 p.m. and 9:15 p.m.) That's very annoying. The fake friendliness of the Service isn't good either. The wine prices are very expensive 0.1 red wine partly for €6.90 Spaghetti with prawns (they were just dry mini crabs) for €19.90 etc. That's definitely too expensive and the portions were relatively small. There was no salt or pepper on the tables. When we asked, the waitress came with a huge pepper mill and was given a plastic salt shaker - an absolute no-go. It's a shame we expected more from the DaVito.

Das da Vito is a very nice Italian restaurant. The employees are very helpful and courteous. We had very tasty starters (vitello tonato, artichoke hearts, seafood). The main courses were also great. The pasta dishes are particularly recommended. The homemade pasta is really delicious.

As a boss, I'm a complete idiot and very unfriendly and not nice. The food isn't even homemade as is claimed and the kitchen and the counter are very unclean, the toilet is a miracle that you don't get any illnesses, the taste of the food is a failure and the prices are way too expensive

I spontaneously visited this restaurant today (Saturday around 12:00) and got a seat straight away. As a single guest, I was assigned a spot at the entrance next to a drinks machine. Not necessarily the most comfortable place... I chose a pepperoni salami pizza. It tasted good, but the bottom was completely soggy. I expect more crispiness from a stone oven pizza. The ambience is ok, the staff attentive but not intrusive.

The staff were very obliging here. They squeezed us in because we were Aussies, ;) on a night full of people there for office Christmas functions. Our food was delicious, carbonara and fettucine with mushrooms and parma ham. I was distraught because I couldn't fit dessert in and had to watch all these amazing concoctions go past. The waiter was a hoot and super friendly. Recommend this.
