L'Osteria in Mainz

The pizza is simply delicious. The dough, the ingredients, the toppings – everything is top-notch. The crust is thin but crispy, and of course, it's also quite large. It's lovely to sit outside in the summer, and the inside is nice too. The service is incredibly friendly. Ask about the lunch menu at midday!

The food is good and not that pricey. I loved their pesto pasta. But remember to make reservation, because the restaurant is not that big and is usually completely full at dinner time.

I had already waited several minutes at the reception, yet guests who arrived after me were shown to their tables ahead of me. After a 40-minute wait, a pizza arrived that was burnt on one side (according to the waitress, "a bit dark"), which I refused. The waitress said "no problem"—she wasn't hungry, after all. The second attempt wasn't good either. When three waitresses repeatedly walked past my table with my empty glass for 20 minutes without asking if I wanted anything else, that has nothing to do with service, and it's hardly business-minded. Consequently, I didn't leave a tip. In return, the waitress refused to give me a bill. That, in turn, is against the law.

Ordered pizza and tiramisu for delivery, the pizza wasn't even lukewarm and the tiramisu wasn't delivered without comment despite having been paid for.

It's a place I always enjoyed going to, it's a bit narrow inside and the passages are not easy. But I still love it.

Delicious pizza and pasta with fast service. Unfortunately, it's so noisy inside that we voluntarily moved to the terrace after eating. Anyone sensitive to noise should probably sit on the terrace in the summer. Otherwise, the food was delicious and everyone was happy. My zoodles, in particular, were a pleasant surprise and something different.

Great shop, gluten-free options would have earned it 5 stars.

It was very loud and actually looked rather uncomfortable; the last free tables were marked reserved, so we left without eating anything.

Unfortunately, the quality of the food has been declining each time, which is a real shame. We actually enjoy coming here. The pizzas are always delicious, but I can't say the same for the pasta dishes. For the past few times, the pasta hasn't just been cooked al dente, it's practically undercooked. Last time, it tasted like rubber and was difficult to chew. The reason I'm leaving a review this time is that I got terrible stomach pains after eating the pasta with Gorgonzola, and they lasted for hours. I hope the quality and preparation of the pasta dishes will improve. Also, the music is much too loud, which makes the atmosphere unpleasant. The service deserves five stars; the staff is very polite, attentive, and always smiles.

The restroom was clean and presentable. 😉 I have absolutely no complaints. We were there outside of peak hours, though.

Unfortunately, as is often the case, it's too loud, or the acoustics aren't good enough for a larger group to have a conversation. The food is worth the fourth star.

After a long absence, I returned to L'Osteria, and unfortunately, it was disappointing. The pasta (Orecchiette di Manzo al Limone) was barely seasoned, the beef had a noticeable bacon flavor, and the pizza was only mediocre. It's a shame—I remembered the visit as being much better.

The only downside is the smell from the toilet...

Very tasty food. Huge portions and a children's menu. Not for a spontaneous visit. You need to make a reservation unless you're coming as a couple. Dogs are allowed, and dogs are provided with drinks on site, even indoors. 🤗. Quick preparation, really tasty, and generous.

I went to L'Osteria in Mainz today to order takeout – and unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. The reception was unfriendly and irritated, which is completely unacceptable for a restaurant of this size and fame. We then had to wait over 40 minutes for our order (for 1 pizza and 1 pasta), while several tables that ordered after us received their food much earlier. When our food finally arrived, the only response was a succinct "Your food is already ready." – a phrase that probably more accurately describes a fast delivery. An apology for the long wait? None. And the best part: The packaging even states that a pizza at L'Osteria only takes 3-5 minutes to prepare. So how could they make us wait over 40 minutes? Once we got home, the next disappointment followed: The Pizza Salsiccia Piccante was burnt on the edges, extremely oily, and the salami was partially dry. The spaghetti chitarra ragù alla Bolognese was bland, completely unseasoned, and disappointing in taste – it doesn't match what you'd expect here. I find this particularly annoying when you look at your website's claim: "The best pizza, pasta d'amore, and a unique atmosphere – an unbeatable recipe." Unfortunately, there was no sign of that today. Neither quality nor attention to detail was evident. Even standard airline food tastes better – and that really says it all.

I ate there with colleagues last year – the pizza tasted fantastic, it was even my favorite. This time we ordered two pizzas to take home: BBQ Chicken and Hawaiian. Unfortunately, we were completely disappointed. There was so little topping on the pizza that you almost had to use a magnifying glass to find the ham – it felt like less than 50 grams, even though the pizza looked huge in diameter. Pros: Thin, crispy crust Cons: Extremely few ingredients, almost no cheese BBQ pizza practically without meat Far too large, dry crusts that you don't even want to eat The price-performance ratio is completely wrong: €18 per pizza is simply too much for what you get. You get the impression that the pizza has only been made larger visually, while the amount of toppings has remained the same. For that price, you can get something much better at almost any other restaurant. Conclusion: Never order pizza here again.

Simply delicious! The pizza at L'Osteria Mainz is a delight – crispy pizza base, fresh ingredients, and generous portions. Beautifully presented and a true feast for the palate! The service is attentive, friendly, and fast. And very easy to reach. The ambiance is cozy and pleasant.

Very disappointed in the customer service and the food, in particular my salad. This is the second time i had to pick out welk old old old salat leaves out of the salad. A quarter of the salad wasnt edible and as i adressed this to our waiter he said, thats how our salads arrive lately. So i said „ then the cook should make sure to pick out the welted leaves and not the customer. No sorry, no offer to replace it or anything in this matter. I was charged good 20 euro for my salad with mushrooms that were also untasty with no flavor and lots of water retaining. The beets also had lost their color. Last time for me going there.

We ate here the day before yesterday. The food came super quickly, and we all enjoyed it. The tortellini were a bit expensive for the amount, but they tasted very, very good! Highly recommended!
