Good pizzas and salads. Friendly service.

The meat was very tasty. The vegetarian pizza could be better. The service is very good. Unfortunately you now have to pay for parking in the underground car park: 4 euros. It could be solved differently for guests. It is better to add the money to the tip. So now fewer stars.

Parking fees are not reasonable outside of the city center.

NEVER EATING SO BAD ITALIAN BEFORE!!! First I have to say that I love Italy and Italian cuisine, eat Italian food at least once a week and spend at least 4 weeks a year in Italy. Since the restaurant was right next to our hotel in Mainz and the atmosphere made a good impression, I went to eat there with my wife the day before yesterday. The service was beyond bad!! We had to wait 10 minutes until we got a menu and another 15 minutes passed before we could order. Every now and then a waiter would walk by, but no one felt responsible. We heard “someone is coming soon” several times. As a starter I ordered a beef carpaccio with lots of parmesan and half a lemon. I have to say that I have eaten several hundred carpaccio in my life. But I have never been served such a bad one, both in terms of taste and ingredients such as oil and balsamic vinegar. The lemon was only brought to me after I complained and placed directly on the table. I asked the waiter if he could perhaps bring a small plate with it. That was then possible. I've always had grated Parmigiano on a carpaccio; The one served here had slices of about 4x8 cm on it and they didn't taste like Parmigiano at all. I was tempted to return the dish, but I was hungry so I ate it. By the way, I only received bread with it after I asked. My wife had tomato soup. It was ok, but there was no napkin with the spoon that was brought. For the main course I ordered tortelloni with shrimps in curry cream sauce. The tortelloni tasted bad and the sauce was a mixture of water, fat and some curry powder. I complained about this and the answer was that the chef had run out of cream. I've never heard such a stupid excuse! At the beginning of a week, a restaurant should probably have the ingredients for every dish on the menu. Otherwise you would have had to say, unfortunately we can't make a curry cream sauce! My wife had tagliatelle with salmon in tomato cream sauce, but of course there was no creamy sauce because of the lack of cream. The salmon was probably an inexpensive frozen product with little taste. We were offered a free dessert for the inconvenience. We accepted this, but we would much rather have had a good meal there. Overall, the food and service were disastrous!! That's why I can only advise against visiting this restaurant. I can't understand the partly positive reviews at all, but everyone may have different or not so good taste. Since you have to give at least one star here, I did that, otherwise I would have only given 2 stars for the ambience. That's the only thing worth mentioning about this restaurant!!

Never been disappointed. Yummy. Attention: Parking garages have recently started costing 2 euros per hour, so far free.... No more cozy meals...

The food was great! It felt more German than Italian. Generous portions! Cozy restaurant and outdoor seating. But the service was so-so. Possibly they had too many guests at the same time.

Today we were in the mood for Italian cuisine. And since the restaurant is within walking distance of our hotel, we ended up here. We were able to get a spot on the terrace. You could do more with it in terms of design. The view is very beautiful. The staff is friendly and attentive. My wife had ordered water with gas, but it was still. But it was exchanged without any problems. But unfortunately the silence also made it onto the bill. Unfortunately I only noticed it too late. My wife had spaghetti bolognese and a small mixed salad. Both portions were large. The Bolognese was good. Likewise the salad. I had a calzone pizza. Unfortunately the dough wasn't quite cooked. But it was rebuilt without any problems. Taste okay. Even just once on the invoice. I had another Hefeweizen. All together for €42.50. The price is okay. Conclusion: recommended

Nice view on the terrace. Eat good. Prices reasonable. Service professional and pleasant.

Very nice restaurant. Very nice service. The portions are large and the food tastes very, very good. Everything is fresh and very nicely presented. We'll be back tomorrow and try to decide from the great menu what we want to treat ourselves to.

There were 5 of us there. Just bullet points because I still find this restaurant to be a disgrace. Starter: Bruschetta: Bread soft, little taste Pizza bread served incorrectly Rest OK Main course: Pizza is a complete impudence Dough soft, sausage without taste, cheese light and tastes like nothing In summary: I ate better at the buffet in Egypt Service: Drinks took 15 minutes and the restaurant was not very busy! One starter was forgotten One main course was forgotten Neither the main course nor the starter would be brought to the table together All in all, I have rarely experienced anything so bad The 2 stars are only for the ambience and the noodles, which weren't bad but also a rather small portion for the price Once and never again

I've enjoyed going there for many years. Unfortunately now one star less because the bread and the pizza base no longer have much in common with an Italian base. Reminds me more of Turkish pizza. Also overfilled with onions, hardly recognizable as Italian :( Pasta dishes are still top.

Had dinner here today with work colleagues. Everyone ordered pizza or pasta and I ordered a salad with chicken strips. Everyone got their food almost at the same time, but my salad didn't come. Apparently it was forgotten. The salad was okay when it arrived. The atmosphere is a bit old but the staff is friendly.

There are only 2 stars and that's only because the service and the ambience were ok...out of 8 pizzas there wasn't a "normal" one. I've never seen so much free space on a pizza (mushroom pizza with 9 thin slices of mushrooms... 😡)

We had booked a place on the terrace. That worked well. Unfortunately, due to the spontaneous cloudburst, all the guests went into the restaurant where there was already a large party. So all the guests were lumped together, which is completely okay. However, there was no new coordination of the service, so none took place for a long time. Food was okay but not what I expected from the reviews. For us there is no reason to visit the restaurant again.

We go here often with the family. The restaurant also offers space for larger groups in the side room or in the main dining room. The terrace at the back is fantastic and you have a great view of the Taunus from there. The atmosphere is pleasant and friendly. The menu offers a manageable selection of pasta, meat and fish dishes and pizza. There is also a lunch menu and always a seasonal offer. I have always been satisfied with the food, both the taste and the portion size were good. I particularly like the pasta; in addition to the classics, there is also a selection of unusual creations that are worth trying. The service is friendly, but unfortunately it often doesn't show up for a long time. We always paid at the counter, but maybe that's custom there and intended.

I would like to write something about the food, unfortunately we weren't served. The menu was handed out, but nothing more was possible, despite repeated requests.

On the way to an Italian concert we got in the mood in style. As an aperitivo there was Spritz Campari and Spritz Limoncello, even if these were not on the menu. Great starter “Antipasto Misto” with, among other things, eggplant rolls, bruschetta and vitello tonnato. The main course included fried cod with lemon and risotto and farfalle with liver. Perfectly balanced in taste. A Verdicchio from Abruzzo was a suitable companion. Totally recommended.

The chicken that my companion received turned out to be almost completely raw after the first bite. So not just half way through but really pink, like freshly bought. When we pointed this out to the waiter, he commented "Ouh!" and carried the plate away. We then shared my schnitzel, which was delicious. A while after we finished eating and drinking, the waiter came back with a new chicken. That was through. None of the three waiters present asked us if we wanted anything else to drink. It was a Wednesday evening and there was very little activity. After the new chicken was eaten, we waited for a while and then decided to go to the counter to pay. Here the waiter asked us if it had been OK. We confirmed that the chicken was done. We didn't hear a "sorry" for the inconvenience, nor a free drink or anything else you get on such occasions. Oh well. Overall, the service was so rude and short, even before the raw chicken, that the schnitzel didn't warrant a second point.

Nice restaurant with great service. The pizzas are very good, although a bit small. What was disappointing, however, was the salad, which was served without any real dressing and was therefore bland.

Memorable Birthday celebration with family and friends, plenty of space for 50 persons, easy coordination and communication, friendly , accommodating, and helpful staff, had video presentation, music for dancing, etc. Buffet options and drinks at very reasonable price Everyone had a wonderful time. Unfortunately the pizzas didn't come cut. Otherwise staff was nice and helpful. We came as a spontaneous group of 6 and it was no problem for us to get a table.

Large hall, quite loud when full, window seat with a beautiful view. Service was good despite the full house, food came very quickly. Portion is large enough, pizza dough has a good consistency, a little low in salt. Red wine (cabernet sauvignon) flat and not recommended. Clothes don't smell like food, great. There are enough parking spaces in the underground car park. Price level slightly above average.

We forgot something in the restaurant. When we called, they said it was under the sink and could be picked up at any time. When we were there, they couldn't find the things and they wanted to get rid of us as quickly as possible. They would send it to us. It's been three weeks now, I think they threw away our stuff :(

My favorite Italian at the moment. The food is simply delicious. The atmosphere is nice and, above all, the service is always very friendly. I would love to come there.

We had dinner at Trattoria Da Arnaldo last night. It is our favorite Italian restaurant where we also celebrated our wedding. The service was very friendly and helpful. The food is super delicious 😋 and there are exceptional recommendations that you haven't eaten before. The atmosphere is just right. We'll definitely be back. Carmen and Uwe

Das Essen war gut und bekömmlich und der Service außerordentlich freundlich. Auch die Innenausstattung sorgt für ein gutes Ambiente. Gerne wieder!

Freundliche Bedienung, leider etwas unaufmerksam. Essen ist durchschnittlich, Ambiente schön,wenn auch etwas sehr laut. Großes plus:ausreichend Parkplätze

Geschmacklich waren die Speisen in Ordnung. Das Verhältnis Menge zu Preis hat mit dem heutigen Besuch allerdings nun die Grenze meiner Akzeptanz erreicht. Die Servicemitarbeiter waren, anders als bisher erfahren, heute weniger aufmerksam. Die Sauberkeit und die Ausstattung mit Hygieneartikel der (Herren-) Toilette war wie gewohnt gut. Leider ist, wohl baulich bedingt, der Geräuschpegel im Gastraum sehr hoch.

Wir hatten hier ein Weihnachtsessen mit Geschäftspartnern, das sehr gut geschmeckt hat, Service war super, Ambiente sowieso. Die Parkplätze in der Tiefgarage sind ein absolutes Plus. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Im Innenbereich sehr laut, wenn viele Gäste da sind. Dafür sehr leckeres Essen, guter Service und passendes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis.

Super Essen! Akkustik ist nichts für Schwerhörige! Das Essen war sensationell lecker und der Service wie immer gut! Leider ist die Akkustik dort sehr schlecht. Wir waren mit einer großen Gruppe dort und das Unterhalten war maximal mit dem direkten Tischnachbarn möglich. Daher ein Sternchen Abzug. Aber immer wieder empfehlenswert!!

Wir haben auf einem Samstag spontan noch ein Tisch bekommen. Sehr nettes Personal , mussten nicht lange Warten bis wir bestellen konnten. Getränke kamen sehr zeitnah danach und das Essen auch. Essen war super lecker. Jederzeit wieder sollten wir wieder in Mainz Sein 😊👌👌👌

Als jahrelanger Besucher der Trattoria war zuletzt eine nachlassende Höflichkeit und Professionalität bei der Bedienung eine enttäuschende Erfahrung. Lange Wartezeit, Fehllieferung, vergessene Bestellung und Drängen wg. Ladenschluss gab es früher nicht. Schade! Essen ist gewohnt sehr gut!

Ausgesprochen zuvorkommenden und freundliches Personal. Wenn es voll ist, tut man alles, damit Gäste ohne Reservierung noch Platz finden. Wir wohnen nicht weit weg und kommen sehr gerne her.

Eines vorweg, ich komme nicht aus Mainz und kann das Restaurant nicht mit anderen in Mainz ansässigen Restaurants vergleichen. Mein Vater hat mir immer von Arnaldo vorgeschwärmt, als ich also wegen einer Fortbildung mich in der Hauptstadt von Rheinland-Pfalz ging ich am Abend zur Arnaldo essen. Laut meinem Vater, der in Mainz vor Jahrzehnten studierte war damals die Calzone besonders hervorragend. Auf der Speisekarte sah ich jedoch ein Gericht dass mich noch mehr ansprach. Hirschgulasch mit Bandnudeln. Dies war einfach nur vorzüglich. Dazu kommt, dass trotz vollem Haus und ohne Reservierung ich schnell und unkompliziert einen Tisch bekam und das Personal ausgesprochen freundlich und zuvorkommend war ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Ich fühlte mich zu jeder Zeit überaus willkommen. In dieser Preisklasse ein hervorragendes Restaurant.

Essen war sehr gut. Bedienungen waren sehr freundlich . Der Geräuschpegel war viel zu hoch man konnte sich fasst nicht unterhalten.

An der Speisekarte hat sich seit Da Arnaldo auf dem Hartenberg ist nich viel geändert, allerdings sind die Speisen geschmacklich okay. Nach so langer Zeit wäre mal eine Überarbeitung der Speisekarte angebracht.

Selten so eine schlechte Pizza gegessen! Der Teig von der Pizza war labrig und die Champions waren einfach nur ungenießbar. Service ist wenn der Kunde mehrmals winken und nachfragen muss ? Wirklich schade da das Ambiente ganz schön ist. Zum Nachtisch noch, so wurde die Crema catalana serviert. Leider fehlte die festen Karamellschicht.

Ein schönes Lokal mit sehr gutem Essen und sehr freundlicher und aufmerksamer Bedienung. Preis -Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt. Kommen gerne wieder hierher!

Was soll man sagen…es war okay. Linguine mit Grillgemüse hätte ich zu Hause 0-8-15 genau so hinbekommen. Einfach, langweilige Tomatensoße dazu langweiliges Grillgemüse dür 11,50€ sxhon stolzer Preis (dafür wenigstens gute Portion). Bruschetta (7€) leider genauso langweilig. Begeistert waren wir jedenfalls nicht. Terrasse mit Blick war schön. Service solide.

Ausgefallene, gerade Wochenkarte, wie auch die üblichen italienischen Gerichte, auf der Karte! PIZZA wie in Italien! Professionelles, höfliches Personal ! Im Innenraum, gerade wenn voll besetzt ist, halt es einwenig, was dem guten Essen keinen Abbruch macht ! Im Sommer auf hinterer Terrasse, eine guten Blick über Mainz ! Immer einen Besuch wert !!

Wir sind oft in der Trattoria unterwegs. Die Carbonara ist eigentlich super. Heute wurden Sahne-Nudeln mit Speck serviert, obwohl Carbonara bestellt wurde. Eine herbe Enttäuschung! Schade, das nächste mal bitte wieder echte Carbonara!

Ottima location ad angolo stradale in piazzetta dedicata con tavoli all’aperto. Piatti ottimi anche fuori menù come linguine al burro e salvia…!
