Aposto Mainz in Mainz

The location and the ambience itself were quite well done. Service was nice and courteous. What really irritated me was that there are QR codes at the tables with the menu, but it doesn't have any prices. I first had to ask for a physical card where the prices were. The cocktails were good in terms of price/performance, but the pizza was unfortunately a bit too hard and dry, especially on the edge.

Hello dear community, I don't usually write reviews. Only in very special cases. The above-mentioned restaurant earned this one star, at least during our stay. I took a spontaneous trip to Mainz with my wife and relied on the Google reviews. When we entered the restaurant, we waited almost 5 minutes at the reception to assign us a table. Despite afternoon hours and very low occupancy! When we then independently looked for a free seat, the waitress came and reprimanded us for choosing a table ourselves on the narrow board. When ordering, we asked in advance for a decent portion for an additional charge. We received two small portions ;@(. The service was very brisk. We then changed the restaurant one to the left to Alex. Everything was good again. Maybe that was just a thing Snapshot, but one waiter was actually sitting at a table facing the toilet and eating a burger from MC 🙈 Never again for us.

We had dinner there with a larger group on a weekday evening. Unfortunately it took a very long time until a service person reached us. Although hardly anyone was there. Everything went very slowly. The food was good. Some glasses not clean. The prices are okay. The atmosphere was nice, but we didn't feel really comfortable. The overall package was somehow not right. Therefore, unfortunately, it can only be recommended with reservations. Maybe we just had a bad day.

The food was so-so. I was there in the evening with a group of 7 people and if some unemptied plates go back, then I think that's a shame. The prices are also sporty. The sinks in the men's room were out of order. I reported this to the counter and was told that this had been going on since the morning!?!?!?!?!? I don't have to go there anymore.

We were there on Saturday lunchtime and had a gourmet block with us. Nevertheless, we received excellent service, the food was delicious and even special requests were no problem! Portions were large and definitely sufficient Was a perfect lunch!

Pizza calzone was really very tasty, but the price was rather high. The service also did its job well 👍

My friends and I were seated at a table that was not listed as a reservation. They brought a menu to order. Less than 5 minutes later the manager came and said, "Get up in 2 hours, this spot is reserved." At that point the place was empty. "Let's take it to another table." He didn't say anything like that or apologize. It was completely rude. We were shocked by the treatment and left without ordering anything. We couldn't get the name of the manager (the person we thought was the manager). I want to complain. They are not friendly.

Really great atmosphere, large portions and good cocktails. Maybe you can do some work on the climate, at least in the basement, but otherwise it's really great. Edit 2024: Hardly any staff, long waiting times

Ordered 2 pizzas 45 min later server said our pizzas were served to another table by mistake , she said they are making new ones however we got the food literally 2 min later and it was cold , so they served us the food went to another table and didn’t even bothered warming it up Not good

The food tasted very good. It is possible to put different toppings on the pizza halves. Both tasted great. Our server Andi was one of the warmest waiters we have ever served. It can be difficult to get a seat outside on warm days without a reservation - although we were lucky this time. Nevertheless, the restaurant is huge inside and has a very individual structure, so that would have been fine. On your next trip to Mainz, definitely worth another visit!

The food was OK, but relatively expensive. However, we had to wait 1 hour and 40 minutes for our food, even though it was quite quiet and other guests who arrived after us received their food earlier.

Super delicious food, unusual pizzas that are very tasty. Service from Andi is excellent. He is very attentive and has a very good overview of everything. He is very friendly and open-minded.

Delicious pizza! Nice restaurant and staff was relatively friendly. The pizzas are really delicious, but unfortunately the price is a bit high. With the gourmet block it was reasonably priced and a lovely evening.

The pizza was so delicious, I started eating it before I could take a picture. I also had two MaiTais that were quite yummy. The bartender and wait staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend!!

We were warmly welcomed and served. The judge took great care of us and I felt very welcome. It was great.

The pizza was perfect, exactly how I wanted it. The service staff responded to all of my requests in a friendly and competent manner. I have to expressly thank Mr Richter and the service staff, charming and yet professional.

Both the service and the food were top. We were served very nicely by the waiter Mr. Richter and can only recommend eating there.

Employees are always nice. The food is delicious and not too expensive either. On Thursdays from 8 p.m. you can dice your cocktail for €2-7, which is the best Mainz has to offer on Thursday if you want to drink cocktails.

After a little shopping in the city, we arrived at the Aposto hungry. Unfortunately, we were allowed to spend an eternity at the table unnoticed until one of the employees took pity on us and asked us if we would like to order something. We had already found the cards ourselves using the QR code, but unfortunately we didn't get any. The taste of the food itself was OK. We had 2 pizzas and 1 pasta. We weren't convinced about the price/performance issue, 15 euros for a pizza and 5.50 euros for a handful of pasta for the child (which a 6 year old child will never get enough of) are a bit excessive.

Personal unfreundlich, Essen okay Defekte Toilette wissentlich nicht gekennzeichnet (Türschloss von innen defekt sodass man im Keller auf der engen Toilette eingesperrt ist)! Panik! Meine Freundin hat mich nach 20 Minuten gesucht und befreit. Kellner lacht beim informieren über den Sachstand und sagt, dass sie am heutigen Tag schon öfter Leute befreien mussten. Auf meine Frage warum kein Schild mit „Defekt“ an der Tür ist wir wieder nur kommentarlos gelacht. Ein kurzes „Entschuldigung“ kann man auch nicht erwarten. Absolut katastrophal!

Overall it was a nice place with pretty good food, but even though the restaurant wasn't nearly full, we were constantly being subtly encouraged to leave. Even while we were still eating, and even later when we had ordered more drinks, people asked us every 15 minutes if we wanted to order something else. This created a very unpleasant and, above all, uncomfortable atmosphere. Not recommended if you also want to chat instead of eating and leaving straight away. The food itself was quite good, especially the vegetarian Bolognese was great. However, it's a shame that the atmosphere was so unwelcoming.

There were 2 of us in the Aposto and everything was fine with my companion, but in my case the cheese was forgotten on the pizza and when I spoke up my pizza was baked again and the result was of course that my pizza tasted burnt and the edge was harder than that the dish. And when I paid I was told that I wouldn't get a receipt because I was charged for the wrong table. When I wanted to speak to a manager he was able to help me with the receipt and he gave me 2 vouchers but only so lock vouchers buy 2 cocktails get 1 free is unfortunately a great offer for me as a pure water drinker. Since I was only told good things about Aposto Mainz, I was unfortunately very disappointed. But please let everyone take their own picture, it's definitely a great invite.

New to the gourmet block and yes it was worth it. The food was delicious in a nice atmosphere. Andy, our waiter, looked after us very well, he came with a smile and underlined the good service. We would love to come here again, even without a gourmet block

Menus are worn out, new menus would make sense and Dan doesn't have something printed in white on black that can be read Read! Because the ambience is relatively dark due to the lighting. But the ambience is OK/pleasant👍. Unfortunately there was food for two people😐. But food itself was OK. The toilet floor could be wiped at least (I say every 3 hours). It's not nice if the floor part has white glue on it. And there wasn't much going on and I don't think it was cleaned yet today 😑.

Very nice restaurant with an excellent selection of food and first class service. I'm here at least once a month. Unfortunately, today I had a less than pleasant experience with the Grumpy pizza (with tuna, olives and sun-dried tomatoes). The olives on the pizza were pitted. The waiter explained to me that the recipe was changed 15 days ago and now pitted olives are used. This doesn't make sense to me - should I enjoy my food or keep fishing out the seeds? I really hope that the recipe will be changed again. Otherwise this might have been my last visit here.

I've eaten here many times and I'm always satisfied. Yesterday I tried the “Wilde Kuh” pizza with burrata and it tasted really good. Staff is always friendly.

We come here regularly and are always satisfied. The pizza is one of the best in Mainz in my opinion - especially the one with meatballs! It always tastes good and sometimes even particularly good! Sharing pizza or adding different toppings is no problem either. The pasta al forno hasn't really impressed me that much and some pasta dishes are a bit too small. The selection of desserts and starters could be more extensive. The range of cocktails here is very large and they are usually very well made. The service is generally always friendly and very accommodating. The design is very unusual and the decoration is nice to look at. One star deducted because the music is often a bit too loud and it gets much too dark late at night. That makes it a bit tiring sometimes. ++++ Was here again yesterday: The online reservation didn't work because the store was supposedly fully booked at the time, but the problem was easily solved over the phone. An empty restaurant awaited us there at 6 p.m., which only slowly filled up after 1-2 hours. It was mostly empty downstairs. If I hadn't called, we would have gone somewhere else and sales would have gone down. After a long time, I gave pasta a chance again: I got a rotten mess of pasta in tomato sauce, poorly presented and boring in taste for a whopping €13. The promised parmesan was not served as usual. No idea if anything was charged for it. We were able to sit comfortably outside, but the waitresses constantly forget about the tables on the sides and don't make eye contact. Sometimes you were simply overlooked for 20 minutes.

Here on Sundays we had probably the best brunch in all of Mainz. The finest freshly prepared breakfast offerings in Italian style at a really attractive price. Top price-performance!!! Unfortunately, the emphasis is on gab (past tense), because the majority of Mainz chic prefers cheap ready-made products and the standard selection of bread, muesli and scrambled eggs etc., which is available at E., W., etc. She probably has tomatoes on her eyes for handmade bruschetta and caprese. Unfortunately, Sunday brunch was canceled because not enough guests accepted these delicacies. It's a shame, we were regulars.

Very personable waiter. I've never been asked whether I'm right-handed or left-handed so that they can put the glass on the right side 🙈 The food was delicious, we were surprised at how varied the menu is and offers good dishes for vegetarians.

Unfortunately, the waitresses were inflexible and unfriendly, which is why we changed restaurants before we could order.

I was recently at the Aposto in Mainz and unfortunately I have to say I really didn't like it. The waitress was very annoyed and behaved that way towards us. Unfortunately, I didn't think the quality of the food was very good either. The noodles really left a lot to be desired. Maybe it will be better next time...

The restaurant was very nice and the staff was very friendly :) The portion of wedges for just under €5 extra was very small. They weren't included with the burger but had to be bought separately. The burger tasted very good. The men's thing pizza with pulled pork had chicken in it. It should actually be called pulled chicken😅

Delicious food and friendly service in a pleasant environment. Prices were slightly above average. The reservation was easy via the Internet. Would love to come back.

We were there an hour before closing and were greeted with an unfriendly “Can I help you?” When we asked for a table for two we were told the kitchen was closing soon, making it clear we were unwelcome. An hour before closing time I just find it cheeky. And since we received an unfriendly welcome anyway, we left.

The atmosphere is quite nice, but at 1/3 capacity you still wait 30-40 minutes for your beer! This store is completely poorly managed. The pizza wasn't a highlight either, although while waiting it felt like it was brought straight from Italy. So, with all my love, no recommendation…

Reservation went very well online. (Even if you requested an extra seat) the food was delicious and the price was good. I just wish there were a few more traditional pizzas. Unfortunately, the individual pizza composition was not explained further on the paper menu; the QR provided only led you to the general online menu, which did not explain anything about it. What we liked best was the professional and friendly service. We'd love to come back.

Although the Sunday break is still available when making online reservations and in the gourmet block, it no longer exists. When making an online reservation, it is stated in the field below both before and after the reservation that brunch buffet is offered on Sundays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This no longer exists. However, this is only pointed out when you stand hungry at the door of the restaurant. Very disappointing! Furthermore, the service leaves a lot to be desired: when my partner and I drank cocktails there, we were only brought one cocktail. The other was forgotten. We sat at the table with just one cocktail for at least 10 minutes before anyone noticed us. The second cocktail was brought at some point without any apology...

The atmosphere is more like a fast food restaurant. But the food is very tasty and the prices are reasonable.

Food great! Andy in particular can tell from afar when the drinks are empty and he always keeps an eye on the little things. The restaurant is definitely recommended!

Our server was very attentive, helpful and funny. The food was good. There is a happy hour on cocktails 🍸. The atmosphere was relaxed.

Table for two people was very narrow and uncomfortable. Service was great. Pizza was actually good, but with the knife there was carnage on the plate because the plate was too small and the knife wasn't suitable for cutting.

Booked brunch for 10 people and left the restaurant without having accomplished anything. There is no brunch there at the moment. This could have been communicated to us earlier. Clueless staff. It's a shame, but that's probably the rule there.

Unfortunately I was disappointed with the food, but I think that's a matter of taste. Unfortunately the knife was too blunt and you couldn't cut with it. The cocktail, on the other hand, was great again, as always. Unfortunately, the last round of orders was placed really early, even though the Aposto was still open for almost 2 hours according to Google opening times.

schönes Lokal, großer Außenbreich schön zu sitzen, flotte und sehr nette Bedienung, hatten eine Vorspeise für 2 Personen (wahr sehr lecker und ausreichend ), Preise normal, WC-Brereich über Treppe nach unten

The food is very good and sometimes very imaginatively put together. We tried out a lot in a small group. It was entirely positive. Very good service. One limitation is the acoustics. It gets very loud. Here you should think about suitable noise measures.

Good pizzas with unconventional names - so you have to get your bearings. “Homemade” lemonade and iced tea are very tasty. There is also a lunch offer with a drink and a small salad. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Large open rooms, but unspectacular "garden chairs" spoil the ambience a bit - ok for lunch, but I wouldn't go out here.

It's been a long time since I went to an Italian restaurant with the family and was disappointed. For the prices that Aposto charges, there is definitely still a lot of room for improvement when it comes to the food. Rarely have I had such a bad pizza. The bottom is like chewing gum on the edge and like a cookie in the middle. The sauce tastes like nothing and you can count the spices in the middle. Our pizza delivery service can do this 10 times better. Tastes vary, but it didn't convince me.

The pizza tasted quite solid, the spaghetti carbonara was seasoned quite boringly. The service was extremely friendly.
