The food and the value for money are very good. The service, however, has deteriorated significantly recently.

Really good food. Good selection, very tasty and authentically Italian. The service was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant itself was small and cozy. Well worth a visit!

Delicious food. However, it gets too noisy in the evening when it gets too crowded. Otherwise, a very nice restaurant, and in summer you can sit outside.

A lovely Italian restaurant in the heart of Bockenheim – on a side street off Leipziger Straße. The food was absolutely fantastic. Great pizza and delicious salads; it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening! The prices are also reasonable – quite low for Frankfurt. Unfortunately, card payments didn't work – apparently a technical issue with the connection. Therefore, two stars deducted for service.

A beautiful restaurant from the looks perspective, a suitable location for a romantic evening. The service, okay, could have been better. When we came in, I mentioned that we didn't have a reservation, and the waitress replied in a rather snippy tone that they had expected it if there were only three of us. We had taken a photo of ourselves, and the waitress came to the table (of course we paused our photo). She immediately said we had to quickly say what we wanted (there was only one other table occupied in the restaurant at the time). We asked for our salad and soup to be combined to make the main course, but this was waved away. Of course, you could say that each restaurant decides for itself, but we think that if that is what we, as paying guests, want, then it should be fulfilled. Now for the most important thing, the food... Without exaggerating, the pizza tastes just like the frozen pizza from the brand yes, really, exactly the same... a shame. The soup/pasta was good, but unfortunately nothing special.

I'd like to give it more stars, but there are only 5. Super delicious and plentiful food. Plus, great service and extremely good value for money.

We had a delicious meal. The small antipasti plate was very filling and perfectly sufficient for two people. The pasta portions were also large and delicious. The waitress was very friendly and attentive.

We were regulars for many years and always enjoyed going there. Delicious food, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere. But since the very young girl started working there, we've lost interest and won't be eating there again. She's so unfriendly, arrogant, rude, and incompetent. We've never experienced anything like it before. And this is the second time. I think the young girl is part of the family, but this is really unacceptable. She complains, has no desire at all, snaps at you... it's no fun. It's a shame.

A real insider tip for Italian cuisine! The dishes are fresh, lovingly prepared, and authentic in flavor; you can taste the quality of the ingredients. The pasta was a particular highlight! The service was warm and attentive; you immediately feel welcome. The ambiance is also very pleasant and clean; the whole package is just perfect here. We'll definitely be back. Highly recommended!

Delicious food, friendly service - gladly again

I had ordered the salmon, but I think the portion was too small. other than that, all great.

The food is solid, you even get bruschetta as a greeting from the kitchen. The food was hot and tasted good, the only drawback is that you only get Parmesan sprinkled on it and you can't put some on it yourself, the waitress does it and then takes the Parmesan back with you, even if you ask if you could leave it.

Actually a very good Italian with good prices. However, we have had the experience for the second time with several people that they quickly become overwhelmed. After a quarter of an hour: still no greeting, no card, no drink. When you go to the bar to take this into your own hands, there is a lack of understanding and even ignorance. When it was clear that a bottle of Prosecco would be ordered, this was implemented promptly, but there was still no menu, no individual drink orders. During the speech at the table, while all the guests are holding a glass, the waiter comes and wants to take away a table in order to seat more guests in the completely overcrowded shop - thereby drawing the guests' attention away from the celebratory moment and towards his concern to shorten the table because not all guests could be there on time. When they came, even after ordering three times, no glasses were brought for them, so someone from the group had to go back to the bar. By the time we had the food it was 9:45pm - we had gotten there hungry at 7pm. The bill ended up containing incorrect beverage items. A quarter of an hour before 00:00 a.m., the remaining guests were surrounded by clean-up work instead of politely asking if they could still have a nightcap and when it would close. Overall, the service seems unprofessional and overloaded. We had the impression that it would be better to serve 40 dissatisfied guests than 30 satisfied ones. We won't be celebrating there anymore, it just seems to overwhelm the restaurant team and in the end it's a shame because the food is really, really tasty.

Very nice atmosphere. The service was very accommodating, but it is not Italian and therefore half a point is deducted for authenticity. In addition, although I enjoyed the food, the other two people found it too bland. The Lugana was very good.

I was there with colleagues last night after a long day at the trade fair. We received a very friendly welcome and the first drinks didn't take long to arrive. To bridge the time and initial hunger until my colleagues arrived, I ordered a Bianco pizza bread with herbs and garlic. That came after quite some time together with my colleagues. But the wait was worth it. Rarely have I eaten such good and tasty pizza bread. The colleagues ate the delicious appetizer platter so quickly that there was no time for a photo. The spaghetti carbonara was very good even if it wasn't quite classic. We treated ourselves to the tiramisu just for the taste and shared it among four people... This restaurant can be recommended without hesitation. Price and performance are right....👍👍👍

Il titolare che è tutto fuorchè italiano,ci riempie di chiacchiere ma alla fine i primi erano a tutta panna e insipidi,però i prezzi alla fine erano abbastanza salati, esperienza totalmente da dimenticare,attesa lunga per il cibo abbastanza deludente,c'è molto di meglio

Great cozy Italian place, the owner spoke little English and we spoke no German but we got by. We were a big group and the sitting arrangement (even with a reservation) was a bit tricky in this cute little place but we also managed that. The manager was a bit anxious at first but slowly eased into taking our orders and providing excellent service. The appetizers were very good, our group shared a margarita pizza and some house shared plates. I tried the veal & spaghetti for the main course which was very average, borderline not so great. Those who got pizzas were very happy. It's a cute dim place suited for date nights or small groups and I would visit again just for pizza and wine.

Nice Italian restaurant in the heart of Bockenheim on upper Leipziger Strasse. Delicious pasta and taglieri, wine and other drinks. Very warm service. That's why I'm a regular. Food is also available late after 10 p.m. As a further treat, a cat occasionally comes to the back door shortly before closing :-).

Had the lasagne, which was super tasty because it wasn't overloaded or too heavy, just light and tasty and the tiramisu, super recommended.

Very friendly people and very delicious

Oh no… Außer dem italienischen Namen und italienische Weine, ist hier nicht viel authentisch. Der Service war nett und bemüht. Das Ambiente ist in Ordnung. Zum Pizza- & Pastaessen geht man aber lieber in ein anderes Restaurant.

Unweit der Bundesbank in Frankfurt gelegen. Trotz Innenstadt keine Probleme einen Parkplatz zu finden. Herzlicher Service, immer präsent. Wir sassen aussen an der Strasse. Im Innenraum typische italienische Atmosphäre. Mein Kalbfleisch war zart mit einer würzigen Sosse. Keine Überraschungen, aber wenn in der Gegend sicher eine Reise wert.

Super leckeres Essen und sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis :)) bin immer wieder gerne da!

Sono stato in questo ristorante per cena con amici; saremmo stati volentieri fuori ma non c'erano luci e non si vedeva, quindi ci siamo accomodati dentro. Come antipasto ci hanno portato gratuitamente una bruschettina piccola ma buona, poi abbiamo preso delle pizze che erano anche discrete, anche se spesso questi ristoranti italiani in Germania alla fine non è che siano chissà che cosa... Spiacevole dover insistere per avere un conto separato: senza chiedere nulla, il titolare ci ha fatto un conto unico ed ha insistito per farci pagare in un'unica soluzione anche quando gli abbiamo detto che la cosa per noi era scomoda. Alla fine, dopo che io ho fatto notare che come clienti avevamo diritto di pagare nel modo a noi più comodo, siamo riusciti a pagare dividendo per 3, non senza che il titolare scocciato ci abbia detto che avremmo dovuto chiedere in anticipo se potevamo pagare divisi con carta: spiacevole e scomodo. Per il resto, come detto, il solito ristorante italiano in Germania (col solito menù scritto male...).

Sehr nettes Lokal mit freundlicher Bedienung, da wir unsere Pizze nicht ganz schafften, packte man uns den Rest unaufgefordert ein. Wir finden das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis sehr gut und die Qualität des Essens auch. Die Atmosphäre ist angenehm und es ist nicht laut, es gibt auch genügend Platz zwischen den Tischen, so dass man sich ungestört unterhalten kann. Im Herbst gab es übrigens eine ausgezeichnete Pizza mit Steinpilzen und Salsiccia, auf Anfrage auch mit Rucola, wenn man nicht auf Schweinefleisch steht.

Ein Hervorragendes Essen eine tolle Atmosphäre und ein Gastgeber wie er im Buche steht!!! Wir hatten die Karte kreuz und quer gemischt - von fleisch über Fisch , Pasta , Pizza und Vorspeisen. Alles war sehr sehr lecker und ist mit Herzen weiter zu empfehlen ❤️ wir werden bei unserem nächsten Besuch in Frankfurt mit Sicherheit wieder vorbei schauen 😍 danke für das tolle essen und den angenehmen Abend sagt das Shisko Team aus Stuttgart 😘

Erstklassiger Service und köstliche Speisen. Von der Vorspeise über die Hauptspeise und Nachtisch war alles 1A. Wir waren als Firma vor Ort und werden bei der nächsten Messe in Frankfurt wieder hier speisen. Wir danken den gesamten Team von Da Giovanni.

nettes kleines Lokal mit sehr leckeren Spaghetti alla puttanesca... mehr habe ich noch nicht probiert, aber die waren wirklich sehr lecker und sogar schön scharf. Das hatte ich so vorher noch nirgends. Auch die kleine Bruschetta vorneweg als Gruß aus der Küche war lecker und eine nette Aufmerksamkeit. Auch nicht überlaufen, daher volle Empfehlung.

Sehr leckeres Essen, ein sehr aufmerksamer Service und ein sehr schönes Ambiente haben diesen Abend abgerundet. Das Essen kam sehr schnell und heiß an den Platz, trotz sehr gut gefülltem Restaurant. Viele kamen auch zusätzlich und haben sich das Essen abgeholt. Die Pizzen kosten 10 Euro und die anderen Essen 8-15 Euro, was qualitativ absolut angemessen ist. Eine sehr schöne Empfehlung für jeden, der die italienische Küche mag.

Ein ganz tolles Restaurant. Der Besitzer ist sehr zuvorkommend und sehr gründlich. Das Essen schmeckt sehr gut und die Preise sind nicht übertrieben wie in vielen anderen Restaurants. Ich kann es nur empfehlen.

Sehr gute italienische Küche, sympathische und freundliche Bedienung, ein wunderschöner Raum, insgesamt gutes Ambiente. Hatte zuletzt eine gegrillte Dorade, Tiramisu zum Abschluss, köstlich. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Giovanni wirklich bester Mann! Empfehlung von meiner Seite die Pizza mit Gorgonzola!! Absolut nice dieses Teil. Für einen Absacker bin ich auch des öfteren nebenan in der Pilsstube Dali anzutreffen. KUSS. Tip Top!

Goede pizzas lekker op loopafstabd

Bodenständiges italienisches Restaurant mit ehrlicher Küche im Herzen von Bockenheim. Die Karte bietet eine sehr gute Auswahl an italienischen Klassikern, aber auch die Tageskarte kann sich durchaus sehen lassen. Zu meinen absoluten Favoriten zählt die Pizza Salmone mit roten Zwiebeln. Alle Speisen sind super frisch, werden zügig serviert und sind liebevoll angerichtet. Sonderwünsche werden auch gerne erfüllt. Der Service im Da Giovanni ist entspannt, herzlich und familiär, das Team angenehm aufmerksam, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Selbst im größten Messetrubel behält der stets gut gelaunte Chef den Überblick und hat für jeden Gast ein freundliches Wort. Im Sommer kann man sehr schön draußen sitzen. Die Atmosphäre dort hat was von Urlaub. Man hat fast das Gefühl, man befindet sich tatsächlich im Süden. Ich freue mich sehr, dieses sympathische Restaurant entdeckt zu haben und besuche es inzwischen wöchentlich. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt. Wenn ich könnte, würde ich 10 Sterne vergeben. Klare Empfehlung!

Pizza war ok, leider hat man den Blauschimmelkäse nicht geschmeckt.

Wir waren häufiger im Vorgänger-Restaurant zu Gast und wollten daher auch diesem Italiener eine Chance geben, zumal sich die Eröffnung Corona bedingt wohl verschoben hat. Insgesamt waren wir zufrieden, der Service ist sehr freundlich, vielleicht sogar etwas zu schnell beim Abräumen, was mit dem eher geringen Andrang zutun haben könnte. Unser Salat zur Vorspeise war frisch und mit einer - für uns - genau richtigen Menge Dressing abgeschmeckt. Die Pizzen waren „solide“, wir hatten in Frankfurt schon bessere, aber auch schon deutlich schlechtere und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis war auf jeden Fall ok. Dazu dann noch ein schönes Gläschen Wein. Alles in allem ein gelungener Abend beim „Italiener um die Ecke“. Wer sich momentan nicht ins Lokal traut, Abholung scheint auch zu gehen.
