I had a really disappointing experience at this restaurant. The service was completely unprofessional. The waiter was rude, ignored our requests and seemed annoyed every time we wanted to reorder something. In the end it got even worse: when I paid with a card I was shouted directly in my ear and the receipt was simply thrown in my face. Such behavior is completely unacceptable! I definitely cannot recommend this restaurant

Our food and drinks tasted really great! Unfortunately my main course was very small for a price of 22.90 euros. I came into the restaurant hungry and left hungry. That shouldn't happen. :/ Service was great and the ambience was great too.

I am giving 1 start they don't even deserve that, Chicken was not cooked, had one of the bad experience, at the end staff was forcing to give tips and staff member was sound drunk and nearly had argument with them and such a shame for people to ask for tips after such a bad service. The location is nice, as is the service. Personally, I think €7.90 (even now after inflation) for a 0.75 liter bottle of water is a bit too expensive, but you don't have to order it. Unfortunately, the vegan burger was as dry as it looked, but the fries were very tasty.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed on my last visit. Unfortunately my burger was completely cold. After a complaint, the burger was warmed up again. Unfortunately, the burger for 20 euros could no longer be enjoyed because the meat was completely cooked through and the salad was also made warm. You have to pay extra for ketchup. I just can't understand! The atmosphere wasn't that great either. The main area had six tables, but we were seated in the side room, towards the toilets. We were the only guests there and were often not noticed by the service. Just a shame. Charge high prices but don't deliver good service or good food.

Sensational Juicy Lucy Burger, meat quality + taste top, everything fits. 2 points of criticism: - Fries portion costs extra - that's still ok - but the portion is very small! and not fresh / hot :( - Ketchup / mayo each extra 0.90 cents is borderline :(( Let it pass, given the burger taste ;-)

There was very little “espresso” in the cup of espresso I ordered, not only in my opinion but also in the opinion of my companion. It was apparently the equivalent of a ristretto. However, when asked, the waitress confirmed that it was not a ristretto, but an espresso. There was no consensus here.

That's for sure: one of the best burgers 🍔 in a long time!!! Fresh, cheeky, groovy!! Even though the outside area was full, the service went above and beyond! My orders still all arrived promptly and with a friendly message! Yes!! I'll definitely come by again!!! THANKS

We did not eat at the restaurant but went back every evening for the wonderful gelato. They offered two vegan options we just loved - a dark chocolate and a raspberry- got one scoop of each and this made for a great combination. And, great pricing.

We spontaneously went there to watch football during the European Championships (without food). Great service, super nice, friendly and relaxed. Nice 'draft beer' selection. We were very happy to have found the Cubo!

The best cocktails ever, great food and great service with consistently friendly and competent staff. The Cubo has become a second home for me, where I come regularly and always with pleasure.

We sat outside for 10 minutes. Two waiters just stood there and talked, saw us and neither of them even had the idea to at least bring us a menu. Then they left again.

A real insider tip in Mainz. A must ! And there are finally pinsas (pizza) again 😀.

We went to Cubo Negro twice in a row last weekend for cocktails. Highly Recommended!! Friendly welcome, great atmosphere and the cocktails are first class. The customer's wishes are asked and implemented in a delicious way, even if it's not on the menu. Many thanks to Dennis, the Mai Tai was top class!!

Unfortunately, the vegan burger is not recommended. It was totally dry, especially the bun, and the price for a probably thawed pattie was not justified. Either the chef should try harder or take it off the menu. Switching to "Beyond Patties" would be a good step in the right direction. Service was courteous. Ambience pleasant.

The place looks good, but I haven’t met boors among the waiters yet. At first he didn’t like that he had to clear the table since the guests came. After dissatisfaction with the request to add extra to the dish, something that is already written on the menu. He came to pick up the plates and said: “there’s no need to behave like that here, we’ve gathered very serious people.” And at that moment I was sitting and looking for a place to relax for the weekend... None of the service staff smile at all. I don’t recommend it and I hope that rudeness will no longer be welcomed here.

You can't describe the Cubo in just a few words. I always arrange to meet my friends here for an evening, usually with dinner from 7 p.m. and off to the lounge until closing time. In my opinion, the food is of high quality, but if you expect huge portions of high-quality food for the money, you may not be in good hands here. But a Juicy Lucy fills me up even without fries :) The staff with character makes you feel right at home. You quickly grow beyond the usual distance, start talking and laugh together. On top of that, there are the great people behind the bar who mix cocktails by hand. The cocktails also have character and if you go there often you will even notice who mixed the cocktail. In addition, Cubo stays up to date and the owners like to try out new cocktails and put them on the menu. So if you want to get away from Caipirinha or Pina Colada and get a little more exotic, this is the right place for you. I hope that the Cubo will stay with us in Mainz for a long time and that it will continue to expand its character with the two owners!

Very tasty food, The ambience was really nice and simple. Price-performance really 1A, The good man who served us seemed very arrogant and looked at us and made a face. He also came across as very arrogant when serving. That was quite unpleasant. Nevertheless, I recommend the restaurant/bar/lounge to everyone. I will also visit the Cubo Negro again. I would like to give myself a new impression.

My friend and I had dinner at Cubo Negro today. We chose bruschetta as a starter and the Juicy Lucy burger and rump steak with fries as main courses. The passion fruit lemonade, like the dishes, tasted excellent and the lava tart with vanilla ice cream rounded off the evening very well. The atmosphere was pleasant, the service was super friendly and the food was extremely good. We would definitely recommend it as an insider tip for Mainz and would be happy to come back.

The best thing about this restaurant is the people who work there. Exceptionally friendly, attentive, accommodating, in a good mood... it couldn't be better. I would go there even if the food wasn't quite as delicious, but it was. Pasta is highly recommended. We also found it very good that the tables are not close to each other, as is otherwise the case in many restaurants, especially Italian ones. Pleasant lighting. I would like to thank the team for a very nice and delicious evening. We will come back in any case.

Known more for cocktails and burgers- nice, spacious place which is apparently livelier on weekends. Happy hour at 8 pm(atleast in the week) for a limited cocktails to be 10.90 eur

Not cheap in terms of price, but: Absolutely excellent service that paid attention to even the little things. Delicious food where special requests are no problem. And very good cocktails - upon request, cocktails that were not on the menu were also mixed, and these were then even charged at the happy hour price. Overall, it's more of a bar with very good food, so it's a bit louder and "dimmier". But very suitable for small groups and fun evenings.

location - nice, on a small square, next to a preserved ruins of church after the bombardment of allies interior - nice, themed with dark colours service - confusing, waiter attending to my table did not understand German nor English very well, I think he was Italian. food - I asked for gluten free option, I was overjoyed when waiter told me they will do it, they have gluten free buns. BUT... 5 minutes later I learn they ran out of buns, so I told them, ok without bun. Then I received the bun-less burger patty with cheddar, salad, french fries, tomato ketchup, mayo. But the burger was sprinkled in fried onion pieces. These were not gluten free, so I had to return the dish and wait for a re-worked order. Which I then received. Will I go again to this restaurant? Most probably no. I had a good company, but I do not want to spend money somewhere where I get "downgrades of service on-the-go". In general, I am fed-up with restaurants in Germany, after living here for 4+ years and travelling the country and trying to get something gluten free for eating.

The Juciy Lucy is still one of the best burgers around. Unfortunately, the current price is no longer affordable. A pity

We've been there several times with a group of >10 people ("Christmas party") and every time we were impressed by the food and the selection of drinks - but especially the service and the kitchen, the food always came for the whole group at the same time and there was none There were no mix-ups and everything was on point as desired!

Leckeres Abendessen an Silvester gehabt. Toller und sehr aufmerksamer Service, sehr leckeres Essen, dabei hatte ich dieses Mal gar nicht "Juicy Lucy", sondern gefüllte Teigtaschen - mega. Klare Empfehlung!

Das Selbstverständnis passt m.E. leider nicht zur Leistung - der Kunde erhält ein durchschnittliches Essen mit fehlerhaften/ungelernten Service für einen Preis, der in dieses Segment nicht reinpasst.

Leider war das Essen absolut nicht empfehlenswert, Garnelen im Tempura Mantel waren alle mit Darm und ungeputzt, sehr unpassend. Das Steak war von einer riesigen Vene durchzogen und geschmacklich enttäuschend, die Pommes waren kalt und die Knoblauchbutter war nur Butter ohne Knoblauchgeschmack. Der Sevice war sehr gut!Insgesamt aber KEiNE Empfehlung meinerseits!

Der Servicr war nett u aufmerksam, und das Essen (Gambas,Tagliatelle mit Trüffeln ,ein Lavatörtchen) ausgezeichnet.,die Cocktails hervorragend. Wir kommen mit Sicherheit.wieder

Hervorragendes Black Angus Rumpsteak, auf den Punkt gegart, schneller und hervorragender Service, leckere Classic Cocktails in der Happy Hour, das hausgemachte Schokotörtchen war das I-Tüpfelchen

Gutes Essen, freundliche Bedienung.

Die Angus Rumpsteaks wurde Medium bestellt. Auf dem kalten Teller angerichtet mit Speckbohnen die schnell kalt wurden war das eine Steak fast durch das zweite gerade noch Medium. Für fast 30 € gibt es bessere Lokale in Mainz. Steak sollte man eher Mediumrare bestellen wenn man dieses liebt.

Cocktails waren sehr gut. Aber ein Cocktail wurde vergessen und derjenige konnte nicht mit anstoßen und es dauerte trotz Entschuldigung sehr lange, bis ihr Getränk kam. Das gleiche bei jemand anderem in unserer Runde am Tisch beim Essen und seine Hauptspeise kam erst, als andere schon fertig waren. Und dann fragte der Service mindestens dreimal, ob das Essen und alles okay sei, was uns ein bisschen viel der Störungen war. Zum Essen: Das Wiener Schnitzel war gut, aber beim Burger mit Tintenfisch mit Garnelen war das Brot nicht kross und saftig und der Tintenfisch zu hart. Die Gnocchi mit Tomate Mozarella waren gut, aber die Tagliatelle el Pistaccio schmeckte fad und trocken, da hätte man mehr daraus machen können. Die Maispoularde war okay, aber der Hauptgang war im Vergleich zu den anderen viel zu klein. Die Gambas als Vorspeise hätte man schöner präsentieren können. Das Restaurant ist sehr schön eingerichtet, für Cocktails würden wir auch noch mal kommen.

Na ja,Essen war OK aber die Pommes doch arch abgekühlt. Getränkepreise bei Bier, Cola und weitere leicht Alkoholisierte und nicht Alkoholisierte in Ordnung. Stärkere Getränke ein wenig zu Teuer😌

Schönes Ambiente mit guter Musik und angenehmen Service ! Die Pasta war etwas trocken und ungesalzen.

Tolle Atmosphäre und mal was ganz anderes. Service ist sehr gut und Kellner nett und zuvorkommend. Wir waren 7 Leute und dennoch wurde unser Essen immer zusammen und frisch serviert. Es gibt manches auf der Karte, was man nicht an jeder Ecke bekommt. Habe im Endeffekt das Carpaccio di Salmone und den Pulpo Burger genommen. Beide Gerichte waren unheimlich gut, auch das Brot was mit dem Carpaccio kam. Der Burger mit Garnelen und Octopus war mal was ganz anderes und das Seafood wurde extrem gut gegrillt. Die Auswahl an Cocktails und Drinks ist sehr gross und haben einiges probiert. Habe mich sehr gefreut den Pisco Spur auf der Karte zu finden.

Perfekter Service und sehr gute Qualität. Da zahlt man auch gerne mal die etwas höheren Preise. Auf jeden Fall eine Empfehlung!

Der vegane Burger war gut. Die Pommes nicht knusprig genug. Das Personal war sehr aufmerksam.

Essen sehr unterschiedlich. Rumpsteak super, Tagliatelle schmecken nach nix. Saßen im Nebenzimmer, direkt neben der Küche. Daher dauern Essensgeruch. Service war mit einer Gruppe von 30 Leuten überfordert. Essen kam in einem Zeitfenstern von fast einer Stunde, bis es bei allen da war. Das darf nicht sein.

Wir waren dieses Mal nur für einen Cocktail dort. Diese sind aber auch sehr zu empfehlen. Wir hatten einen London Mule und einen Lillet Berry. Beide Cocktails waren sehr lecker. Das Essen ist aber auch sehr zu empfehlen. Besonders der Juicy Lucy Burger.

..das Lokal bzw. die Location ist zu empfehlen, wir waren eine große Gruppe (13) und alles hat zu unserer Zufriedenheit gepasst. Die Qualität Service und Speisen war sehr gut.

Das Cube Negro ist direkt an der Altstatt gelegen und von außen fast unscheinbar. Es gibt einen Restaurant-Teil, in dem wir aber nicht waren. Wir saßen gegenüber der Bar im Loungebereich. Die Barkarte ist sehr umfangreich. Besonders beeindruckt war ich von den eigenen Kreationen, die wirklich gut geschmeckt haben. Preislich gibt es nichts zu meckern. Der Lage durchaus angemessen. Das Publikum ist überwiegend jüngeren Alters, genauso wie das Personal. Alle waren freundlich und bemüht. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Außergewöhnlich gute Gerichte und trotz des Troubels sind wir schnell bedient worden. Die Grundlautstärke dort ermöglicht maximal 4er-Gruppen eine Unterhaltung ;-) Schön war's

Toller Laden. Haben extra für uns geöffnet und eine Speisekarte erstellt. Alles war sehr lecker und mit Liebe zubereitet. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Die Planung war sehr gut und einfach. Ich kann es für ein Firmen Essen absolut empfehlen.

Das Essen war gut, die Lautstärke im Restaurant ist ziemlich laut, der Service war eigentlich gut. Eigentlich allerdings deswegen, weil beim Bezahlen der Rechnung dem Personal das Trinkgeld nicht ausreichte und sie mehr verlangten. Das fanden wir eine erhebliche Frechheit, da es nach wie vor die Entscheidung des Kunden ist, ob und wie viel Trinkgeld man geben möchte. Sowas haben wir noch nie in irgendeinem Restaurant erlebt.

Also, wo soll man anfangen? Zu dunkel, zu laut, zu teuer! Das essen schmeckt gut, aber die Portionen sind zum hungrig essen. In vier gleichzeitig bestellten Pina Colada fehlte die Sahne. Bei Cocktails sind Pappstrohalme ein absolutes No-Go - bei den Preisen könnte mann erwarten das mal Strohhalme aus Glas oder Metall angeschafft werden. Es war eine Erfahrung, aber es bleibt bei einer...

Burger sehr lecker. Bedienung freundlich und zuvorkommend. Lokal voll besetzt sehr laut.

Es hat alles damit angefangen, dass wir auf der Suche nach einem Laden in Mainz waren, in welchem man einen White Russian bekommen kann. Jener Abend endete damit, dass jeder vom Barkeeper einen auf ihn persönlich zugeschnittenen Cocktail bekommen hat, der auch noch absolut die Geschmäcker getroffen hat. Giuseppe und alle anderen an der Bar haben ein überragendes Know How bzgl Cocktails und Talent dafür Gaumenfreuden zu mischen. Die Qualität der Speisen steht dem Ganzen in nichts nach. Meine persönliche Empfehlung, sofern man nicht auf die schlanke Linie achten muss, die Juicy Lucy, ein Burger der Extraklasse. Auch wenn die Preise einen erstmal etwas abschrecken mögen im Vergleich zu 0815 Cocktail Bars, man zahlt einen an sich sehr kleinen Aufpreis für eine massive Steigerung an Qualität, Ambiente und sehr netter aufgeschlossener Belegschaft. Meine absolute Empfehlung ist es jedoch ganz ohne Erwartungen herzukommen und einfach zu sehen wohin der Abend sich entwickelt.

Hatten einen Salat, Burger und Pommes. Alle Speisen waren mittelmäßig. Nicht schlecht, aber eben auch nichts Besonderes. Bestenfalls Durchschnitt. Der Service war genervt und nicht freundlich. Das Ambiente hat uns ansonsten gefallen. Nachdem wir die Rechnung verlangt haben kam eine „Zwischenrechnung“ ohne ausgewiesene Mehrwertsteuer. Erst nach erneutem Nachfragen wurde uns dann eine richtige Rechnung ausgestellt. Hier sollte vielleicht das Finanzamt mal näher hinschauen….

Gehe schon seit Jahren immer wieder gerne hin. Freundliches Personal, schönes Ambiente und eine Karte, die nicht überfrachtet ist, in der aber jeder etwas findet. Preislich etwas gehoben, aber dafür bekommt man meiner Meinung nach auch die besten Burger der Stadt. Wenn voll ist, ist es relativ laut, aber das ist fast überall so. Hervorheben möchte ich auch, dass speziell die Palette bei den Burgern auf drei fleischlose Alternativen erweitert wurde, das kommt Gästen mit entsprechenden Ernährungsgewohnheiten sicherlich sehr entgegen. Alles in allem eine sehr gute Adresse!
