I will never enter this restaurant again because of a certain Mr. Dirk Siebentop! His behavior was unacceptable. I could barely enjoy my meal because he was so loudly criticizing his employees. That seems truly disrespectful to me. 0 stars, ideally.

Birthday at the Wellington, not recommended! I've eaten at the Wellington many times and celebrated birthdays, but this time my 70th birthday was less than enjoyable, while dining with many friends at this place. The reserved seat in the conservatory, which I had confirmed twice over the phone, was not granted to us and was supposedly unavailable. Later walks through the restaurant toward the restroom confirmed this; there were six seats available there the whole time. The seat assigned to us directly by the entrance turned out to be very noisy, which made conversation difficult. Apparently, you could only reserve a table, but not claim a specific seat. I would certainly have chosen another restaurant if I had been told this when making the reservation. The service staff changed repeatedly, three times in total. The water bottle was placed on the table, but no one was poured. The whipped cream served with the ice cream turned out to be whipped cream, which collapsed more quickly. When I paid, I encountered an extremely unpleasant situation: My bill was over €120, which I noticed and immediately complained about. It was changed, but there was no apology. There were no small concessions for the error, such as an extra drink or something similar. I've already been presented with incorrect bills twice at Locks, which is part of the group. I still have the feeling that guests are treated carelessly here, or perhaps even intentionally. My birthday guests handled this unpleasant situation with humor, but were also clearly disappointed by this restaurant, which calls itself a gourmet restaurant. I will not be holding another birthday party or any other celebration at this restaurant, nor at Locks. I can only strongly warn every guest to check their bill carefully. To do justice to the restaurant and the chef, the food was overall fine for all of my guests.

The three of us ate there and were really very satisfied. The steaks were medium and medium-rare, as ordered. The side dishes were also okay. The baked potato had a very slight taste, as if it had been from the day before. The sour cream could be even better. Overall, though, it was good; the waiters, especially, lived up to the "open and friendly" concept. Good white wine! It was fun! We'd gladly go again.

Four of us were there for our high school graduation. The ‘Wellingten’ invited this year’s graduates to dinner, a very nice gesture!

Ate with friends. Asparagus soup was watery, scami pan was hard. Beef fillet wasn't a fillet. The burrata starter was definitely mozzarella. Service was good. But that's not why you go out to eat. Too bad, it used to be better. I won't be back.

Everything was perfect: delicious food, friendly staff, and a cozy atmosphere. We'd love to come back.

We went there for the lunch and sat in the patio with glasses. It was so beautiful. The lunch menu was worth it and the food was delicious.

This restaurant offers cozy and relaxing atmosphere with lots of delicious dishes. 1. Pan-fried Fillet of Apple-fed Pork with Calvados-Cream Sauce, Colorful Carrots, Green Asparagus and Rosemary Potatoes : Nice sear on the pork. The inside was succulent. All of the vegetables were naturally sweet, crisp and buttered. The Calvados, stock and cream were in perfect balance. However, the potatoes could have maintained the crispy exterior though. 2. Pan-fried Fillet of Winter-Cod with Tarragon Velouté, Apple Sauerkraut and Boiled Potatoes : The fish was firm and it flaked so well. It could not get any fresher than that. The skin was seared to perfection. The sauce paired so well with the delicate texture and taste of the fish. The presence of apple rounded off the acidity of the Sauerkraut and the creaminess of the sauce. The waxy texture of the buttered boiled potatoes was such an irresistible side dish. 3. Lemon Tart with Blueberries and Salt-Caramel-Ice : The custard filling could have been more velvety. The shortcrust pasty was too moist. The caramel in the ice-cream was not “butterscotch-y” enough. This could be observed from the color and taste of the sauce. The good thing was that the ice-cream was not overly sweet. The meringue was sweet enough to balance the acidity of the filling.

I've always enjoyed going to Wellingten over the past few years – unfortunately, the quality has recently declined significantly. The food tastes good, but is just average and too expensive. You can't really get enough to eat it anymore. Recently, the prices have been raised significantly. When I found out today that they don't even serve bread beforehand (only for an additional charge), I lost all sense of value for money… what a shame!

We ate there on December 27th, 2024 and were warmly welcomed at the entrance, the waitress was very nice, the food was OK, pasta with truffles was more so-so, you can't go wrong with the fillet, roulade was good. What I have to expressly mention now is the employee at the bar. I have rarely seen such an ignorant, arrogant bartender. I actually wanted to order five cocktails to finish, but then ordered the bill straight away after his derogatory behavior. The reason we were at the Wellington that evening was actually because we wanted to book a table for a birthday event for 20 people, but then actually decided not to because of the unfriendliness - definitely not again

Nicely decorated restaurant. Service ok, overly funny and sometimes arrogant. Not very friendly and warm. You didn't feel welcome. Food average. Not great quality for the price and too expensive. For example, the Bread salad, carelessly prepared from an excessive number of bread cubes and a few tomatoes. Otherwise very little basil, hardly any dressing or similar. Furthermore, with the outside temperature at minus 1 degree, it was clearly too cold inside.

A very nice and quiet atmosphere with very tasty food. Unfortunately, there is a risk of contamination for those affected by celiac disease. Before making the reservation, I spoke to an employee on the phone where I was assured that there were gluten-free options and that contamination was being monitored. However, it was only when I ordered that I found out that there was a risk of contamination in the kitchen from flour, for example. I would have liked this information on the phone beforehand.

From my memory, a great restaurant with fine, tasty dishes. Service friendly and accommodating. In summer you can sit on a cozy terrace, just a few meters away from the Alster hiking trail. I bought a meal voucher there for the second time, without any problems and can be redeemed in another 4 restaurants. The recipient is happy again

Super nice service staff, Food a bit disappointing. The porcini mushroom soup was too salty, the duck wasn't cooked through, the dumpling was just rubbery and watery, the red cabbage and the sauce were a dream.

We waited 1.45 hours for food without anyone stopping by to report that it was taking longer. Our empty glasses weren't interested either and the waiters preferred to talk about their leisure activities instead of paying attention to us. 30 minutes after dinner someone even came to clear the dishes and 15 minutes later they wanted to know if we wanted another desert. Absolute impudence how guests are treated here and at the prices.

Seven people made reservations for a goose dinner at Wellington. We left the Wellington disappointed. We didn't find the reception particularly friendly. We found the room at the back to be atmospherically cool (in contrast to the “main rooms” with more pleasant lighting and decor). The staff who looked after us were untrained and therefore understandably a bit helpless at times, but very friendly. Therefore, no criticism is aimed at these people, but rather at those who are authorized to give instructions to these staff. In my opinion, it is a no-go for a "head waiter" or whoever that was to reprimand a waiter in the presence of guests for alleged minor inadequacies. This is a humiliation of the staff, which is unworthy of a "superior" and shows his unqualification. The staff, who are desperately needed, should be treated with patience and respect and not humiliated! In my opinion, respect for guests requires professional behavior, especially from trained staff. The others are still learning, and you shouldn't scare them away by humiliating them. And by the way: This also scares away guests. The catering industry can hardly wish for both!

A very nice restaurant in Wellingsbüttel. The food is extremely good and tasty. The service is also very attentive, unfortunately a point was deducted this time because there was around 1.5 hours between ordering and serving, which is unfortunate for lunch.

We were there with the family for our birthday. We were forgotten. The service came briefly at the beginning for the order and then not at all. Our food was completely forgotten and served after over TWO hours upon request. The table was not cleared in the meantime. The candle stayed out the evening. The potatoes were forgotten in the roulade - when we asked, we were told the potatoes were not part of the dish. After we showed the waiter the menu and there was roulade WITH potatoes, they were brought... Unfortunately, the food wasn't good in the end - the sauce was over-seasoned and the red cabbage was also inedibly over-seasoned. We left the store angry and stunned. Really a shame.

A good steakhouse and restaurant with a comprehensive selection of different dishes from home-style cuisine. The welcome was nice, but the service staff were poorly coordinated and a little disillusioned in their demeanor. Especially if you order something in person and the waitress turns to the wrong guest at the table several times that evening. The fake jokes don't fit in either. We weren't offered bread, only the somewhat condescending note was that it would be charged extra at 2.50 euros per person. The starter, tagliatelle with truffle, was okay, but tasted monotonous. The beef fillet, on the other hand, was grilled to perfection, the side dishes were also well prepared and the portions were generous. The wine list can definitely be expanded, and the bottle of wine I ordered was not in stock. There's no doubt that the Wellingten can be recommended, but I felt there was a lot missing in terms of service and atmosphere that evening.

The staff ripped it out positively. Apart from that, there wasn't a single vegetarian dish on the lunch menu. After an endlessly long wait, delicious but completely cold truffle tagliatelle follows. When these were already half eaten, some Parmesan was quickly added. All in all, not a catastrophe, but clearly not enough for your own needs.

A restaurant to feel good! The food (beef roulades with red cabbage and potatoes) was a delight and the ambience invites you to stay longer. Our aperitifs were also delicious. We look forward to the next visit. Really highly recommend the address.

There were six of us and we had lunch. The first but definitely not the last time for us. We had the boisterous duck, rump steak and crispy pork belly and were all delighted with our respective dishes. For us, definitely a restaurant for a nice occasion.

I haven't been there to eat for a long time, last time I wasn't impressed with the dish but now I was more than satisfied. Taste and portion would be very good. The dish was ribs****. My group was also very fond of the food.

The wine came 20 minutes later. One of the two bottles of water I ordered arrived exactly 80 minutes after I asked four times. The second never arrived. The starter had already been eaten and we were on to the main course. By the way, he left the main course for us and immediately disappeared. The amateur hadn't given us any cutlery, so we couldn't start. I had to take care of cutlery myself. We still didn't want to let it ruin our evening and later asked for a dessert menu. He gave us cards without content, as a joke and laughing. That finished us off. We refused and wanted to pay. He ignored us for twenty minutes until we got up and went to the door to pay with the card, without a tip of course, I thought. We looked in the car and thought that couldn't be right: the waiter had debited us €27, or 10% too much, without mentioning it. I don't know where they found this guy, but he did everything wrong. Not my shop...there are better alternatives. The penne with chanterelles was extremely bland and devoid of any flavors. Draft wheat beer 0.5 liters €7 is unfortunately the famous “touch too much”. Draft beer has not risen in price so brazenly in the past. It's more about maximizing profits. I will be using my Block House again in the future and will enjoy the best quality at fair prices.

We were initially enthusiastic about the Wellingten around 2018, but each time it lost quality. Today we were there at 6:15 p.m., ordered shortly before 6:30 p.m. and, thankfully, the starters and children's games arrived at around 7:00 p.m. - but then nothing happened until around 8:25 p.m. Neither the waiters paid us any attention nor did our food come.. The menus could also reflect the allergens. Thankfully, dessert was taken on the house.

Very tasty food, attentive service and a great ambience on the terrace too. The price category is upscale but overall absolutely reasonable. There is a lunch menu at lunchtime. There are around 15 parking spaces next to the restaurant.

The food is very good. There is little parking at the restaurant. But you can park for free on the surrounding streets. It's a 10-minute walk to the Wellingsbüttel S-Bahn station. There is very good seating in the restaurant. The table service is very good.

The food is freshly prepared there and the selection is very large, the service is very good, everything happens very quickly and everyone is very friendly. I can only recommend it to anyone who likes to go to nice, tasty and nice restaurants

Today unfortunately only mixed...asparagus soup much too thin...like water...addressed...but still charged in full???!!! Schnitzels were small, but okay

We celebrated our daughter's confirmation in the green salon and it was a completely successful celebration. From the good planning and varied menu suggestions, to the very friendly and attentive service, to the delicious and plentiful food, everything was absolutely perfect. We can fully recommend the Wellingten for celebrations. Thank you very much for the great celebration.

Wellingten is simply one of my favorite restaurants! Everything is perfect here: the location, the very friendly and courteous staff, the ambience especially in the winter garden and the excellent food and drinks! The prices are not cheap, but performance can also cost something...

If you enter “Wellingten” into the smart navigation system in Hamburg, “Wellington” in Great Britain can be suggested as a “destination”. The navigation laugh of the evening, barely manageable in 35 minutes to make the reservation. Luckily, we quickly noticed the mistake and made it to the restaurant at exactly 8 p.m. The outside area is already inviting. A lot was lovingly invested. The super attentive service staff quickly guided us to our table. The interior decoration is a real eye-catcher. Stylish, but relaxed and comfortable. This establishment has managed to get a large number of top service staff on its team over the years and they feel really comfortable here and clearly enjoy what they do. The same goes for the food, always delicious and to the point. The goat cheese gratinated with lamb's lettuce delights vegetarians and the burgers - a real classic - are always a joy. The fillet steaks are a hit, home-made fries are crispy but not dry and some people here have become “addicted” to the cucumber salad. We made our way home full of great impressions and an all-round good feeling. We are looking forward to the beautiful terrace outside with a view of the greenery being open again in the evenings.

Nice service and nice ambience. But the food has already worn off quite a bit. The prices have gone up quite a bit. We used to like staying here but the price-performance ratio is no longer right.

The first time I was disappointed with the Wellingten. I had a tarte flambée that was topped with tomatoes, tomato paste, rocket and drizzled with balsamic vinegar... the taste was too sour for me and at €19.90 it was already expensive. My girlfriend had a Ceasers salad, which was quite soggy due to the dressing, tasted okay but visually it was pretty messy 🙈. Although it was very empty, the waiter wasn't particularly attentive and we had to pour our own wine from the bottle. Unfortunately, he didn't ask whether it was tasty, but only when he cleared the plates and saw that we had only eaten two-thirds of our food, he realized that the ladies were probably full. Otherwise I would have commented on the food again.

I'm pretty disappointed and also horrified. I was in this restaurant last week with my uncle (90 years old) and my aunt (81 years old). Reception was OK. We had reserved a table in the winter garden. The cellar who accompanied us to the table behaved in an impossible way. (he sang, whistled and made strange, impossible, disrespectful noises). None of us were satisfied with the food either. I was very embarrassed in front of my uncle and aunt, who I that evening, even though I had been there a lot back then and was enthusiastic. I recommend that the managing director take a closer look at everything.

Been to the Wellington for the third time today: very overpriced, poor service and the food was more than just plain and bland. Nowadays people only live by their reputation, for whom this is enough... A lovely evening in nice surroundings, delicious food and attentive service. Very happy again 😊

Nein, war leider gar nicht gut. Der männliche Servicekraft fand sich äusserst lustig, war aber einfach nur unfreundlich und teilweise unverschämt. Das Essen war leider maximal mittelmäßig. Die weiblichen Servicekräfte waren übrigens alle freundlich. Nur deswegen 2 Sterne.

long story short: ich habe das Kohlgericht gegessen, also Hausmannskost. Die Größe der Portion war eher bescheiden. Geschmacklich okay, etwas zu salzig für meinen Geschmack. Was allerdings meinen Unmut auslöste war der Umstand, dass die Fleischbeilagen mikroskopisch klein waren. Die angebliche Schweinebacke war maximal ein kleines Stückchen der selben. Leider habe ich vergessen ein Bild zu machen. Beim Stück Kassler sah es ebenfalls katastrophal aus (Bild). Was soll das? Dünner kann man Kassler kaum schneiden. Nochmals es handelt sich hier um klassische Hausmannskost. Preis-Leistung stimmen schon lange nicht mehr, aber jetzt ist leider Schluss, obwohl wir um die Ecke wohnen. Ein Glas Wein 0.2 für 9.70 Euro ist dann auch nicht mehr akzeptabel. Und ja, ich habe diese Kritik auch beim Zahlen geäußert - rechts rein, links raus. Wellington, ade! Last but not least. Service besteht aus mehr als nur Begrüßung und Kassieren.

Man wird beim Reinkommen gleich höflich begrüßt. Das Personal ist dabei höflich und aufmerksam. Gleichzeitig deängen sie sich auch nicht zu sehr auf. Die Preise passen zum Ambiente, alles ist etwas gehobener ausgerichtet. Vor dem eigentlichen Essen wird noch ein kleiner Brotkorb mit zwei verschiedenen Brotsorten und Frischkäseaufstrich serviert. Das Essen schmeckt dabei sehr gut, unabhängig davon ob es Steak, Fisch, Hausmannskost, Burger oder was sonst noch auf der Karte zu finden ist. Dabei gibt es bei der Karte auch saisonale Unterschiede. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall gerne wieder.

Hier bin ich Gast hier will ich sein. Die Speisekarte haben wir bald durch😉 Ob Grützwust oder die tollen Steaks, dass leckere Brot als Vorspeise, alles Top. Auch die Hochzeit meiner Tochter wurde professionell gestaltet und natürlich wenn einmal im Jahr die Familie zusammen kommt. Die Mitarbeiter freundlich und zuvorkommend. Danke und bis zum nächsten mal.

Ich kann die guten Bewertungen nicht verstehen. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passt hier gar nicht. Meine Frau und ich hatten jeweils ein Rumpsteak mit Beilagen bestellt. Meins sollte medium und ihres medium-rare sein. Bei mir kam eine trockene Schuhsohle an und bei ihr war im Ansatz noch etwas rosa zu erkennen. Das Fleisch war absolut versalzen, sodass ich keinen geschmacklichen Unterschied zwischen einem Aldi 5 Minuten Steak und diesem feststellen konnte. Zusätzlich wurden meine Pommes vergessen. Diese kamen dann 5 Minuten später, aber man merkte dass diese hastig fritiert wurden, denn sie waren noch halb roh. Die Vorspeise, ein Flammkuchen Bruschetta, war gut. Ich war dieses Jahr in Texas. Hier konnte jedes mittelmäßige Restaurant für keine 20$ inklusive Beilage ein Angussteak perfekt medium braten. Hier hat das Steak mit Beilagen etwa 60€ gekostet. Da es der Geburtstag meiner Großmutter war und wir aufs Essen schon 1,5h gewartet hatten, habe ich meine Beschwerde nicht geäußert. Der Service ist okay, wobei man beim Kellner das Gefühl hat, dass er unter dem Main Character Syndrom leidet. Für mich ist guter Service eine hohe Aufmerksamkeit, Freundlichkeit, aber dann unsichtbar im Hintergrund. Immer wenn der Kellner im Raum war, musste er einen halbwitzigen Kommentar machen. Wenn man das mag, okay, aber nichts für mich. War es das schlechteste Essen, was ich jemals gegessen habe? Nein! Aber für diesen Preis war es miserabel.

Gutes Essen aber eher teure Preise

War dort zum erstenmal und es war super ich konnte online ganz bequem ein Tisch reservieren und wurde Vorort super freundlich in Empfang genommen auch der Service war super nett und sehr zu vorkommend. Das Essen war auch spitze! Ich kann es nur empfehlen wenn man jemanden nett ausführen möchte.

Sehr gepflegte und gehobene Gastronomie. Der Service war sehr gut, das Essen war sehr lecker.

Auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert. Habe da meinen 50ten gefeiert und auch sonst sind wir des öfteren dort. Leckeres hochwertiges Essen und ein sehr aufmerksamer Service. Wir sind sehr gerne dort. Das nächste Mal am zweiten Weihnachtstag mit der Verwadtschaft.

Sehr gemütliches Restaurant im herzen von Wellingsbüttel. Das Essen wie es sich für ein Restaurant dieser Klasse gehört hervorragend. Beim ersten Besuch mussten wir knapp 2 Stunden auf unser Essen warten, beim 2. Besuch gab es keine Probleme, das war also wahrscheinlich nur ein versehen. Die Gegend lädt noch zu einem gemütlichen Spaziergang im Alstertal nach dem essen ein

Nettes Lokal mit freundlichen und aufmerksamer Bedienung. Die Speisen und das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist allerdings eine glatte 6. Preise angesiedelt an die Sternegastronomie, nur leider ohne Sterneessen. Es hat uns leider überhaupt nicht gefallen. Portionen überschaubar und wirklich nicht besonders gut. Das Fleisch war zäh und die Gerichte ingesamt sehr lieblos angerichtet. Kein erneuter Besuch von uns.

Essen perfekt, Service aufmerksam.

Leider nicht mehr so gut … Preise angezogen. Portionen deutlich kleiner, Service wenig aufmerkam - insgesamt zu wenig Grund für „regelmäßig“. Super schade. Waren früher sehr oft hier. Und sehr schade, dass Ihr Euren alten Wellington Burger gegen einen sehr gewöhnlichen geopfert habt.
