Cotidiano Gärtnerplatz - Frühstück, Restaurant & Bar München in München

It was one of the breakfast spots we had saved for our Munich trip, and we chose this branch because it was close to us. I went with the “Le American 🥐” and my husband chose the “Avocado Toast Deluxe 🥑” The croissant was soft, and the flavor of the cheddar scrambled eggs was really nice. Combined with bacon and chipotle sauce, the overall taste was well-balanced. My husband was also satisfied with his avo-toast. It was a filling and tasty breakfast. After breakfast, we ordered a banana bread and some tap water. The banana bread was a bit drier compared to others I’ve had, but it still tasted good. The total for two breakfast plates + 2 americanos + banana bread came to €43,5. However, we ended up paying around €46–47 when the bill came (unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo of the receipt). I’m not sure if we were charged for the water even though we asked for tap water?? If so, that’s quite unreasonable, or they should at least inform us beforehand if there’s a charge for tap water 🙄 Other than the pricing issue, there was nothing else to criticize. The interior of the place is nicely decorated, spacious and airy, and it’s centrally located. The breakfast was good.

The Cotidiano is a solid breakfast café on Gärtner-Platz. The service is really very friendly. The food was average in my opinion. I had the “Egg Drop Guacamoly” But maybe I chose wrong. I paid €21 for a café and the above-mentioned breakfast.

Very nice restaurant with friendly service, good food and drinks. Good quality bowls and burgers. Ambiance is modern and cozy. When we visited, the music was uncomfortably loud, but everything else was fine except for the (un)cleanliness of the toilets.

Hype over, experienced the same thing for the second time... Watery smoothies with fruits that have obviously seen better days - disappointing in taste. Sandwich was drowned in dressing, the “chicken breast” sliced ​​paper-thin like carpaccio. The service was annoyed and overwhelmed, which further spoiled the overall experience - busy because of the location.

We waited 40 min for the food that never arrived. After being in the sun and hungry we asked if we can move to inside and they refused with very bad manners. never again.

Food is decent, nothing special but also not bad. I personally don’t like the coffee here but that’s just my personal taste. It’s always very packed and loud here. All in all I think it’s over hyped

I loved the food at Cotidiano. The place is beautiful, the staff was friendly and the food was amazing. The price is not the cheapest, but it is worth it for the quality of what they deliver. I highly recommend it for a delicious breakfast.

One specific waiter is extremely rude and told us explicitly in our face if we don’t like it we should not come again (when we said it took very long to get the food). This is also not the first time he’s rude, I hope the management of this branch does something towards this cause he’s pushing people away explicitly :)

We had brunch this afternoon. It was a really good time. Very pleasant and efficient servers. Various dishes, and reasonable value for money. I recommend without hesitation!

We were there for brunch today from Cologne in Munich. The location was recommended to us by a friend. The food was very varied and very tasty. Our highlight was our waitress Fitore, who gave us very good advice and her funny and relaxed manner. She made our stay perfect! Gladly again! Thank you Munich!

We asked if there were still seats inside, but unfortunately there were only seats outside. However, we were not served and had to order our drinks ourselves at the ToGo counter. These were then given to us in one Plastic cup handed over. For the price and the ambience of the store, that's not possible. The quality has decreased significantly over the years. What a shame!

Delicious burgers, brownies, drinks and espresso ok, service nice and attentive, prices just like Gärtnerplatz, conclusion: you can do it. We sat from 5-10pm, so obviously pleasant atmosphere.

Nice cafe with very good location, especially When the weather is good it's nice to sit outside. The café is good and the cakes are also tasty, although it is a chain, it is still recommended in terms of quality and taste!

Interesting location in the heart of Munich

I was at "Cotidiano" for the first time last night and was impressed from the first second: very friendly and attentive service staff, tasteful decoration and the classic chicken burger with fries were also very tasty. The music was a little too loud at the end and the Red Passion Ice Tea was a little too sweet, but overall a 5/5. I can absolutely recommend a visit to this restaurant.

The taste of the food was really good, but unfortunately the service was quite disorganized in one situation. We had ordered our dish with fries and therefore thought that it would come later. Instead, we were simply served our plate with some salad without anyone telling us. We were expected to notice on our own that something was wrong and fix it on our own - but how can we if no one explains anything to us? Despite the misunderstanding, nothing was adjusted in terms of price, even though fries alone cost almost €5. A little more communication and accommodation would have been really welcome. Unfortunately I cannot recommend it due to the poor service.

The rice in my bowl was hard, the avocado wasn't ripe and the sauce was forgotten. The service was good.

I actually always liked going to Cotidiano. Today we spontaneously went by and there were a few tables available. We waited at first, the waitress was busy with other tables, saw us, but then disappeared back inside without a word. We then sat down at one of the free tables. It wasn't until a few minutes later that another employee appeared, who asked us who had seated us and then asked us to get up again, saying that we were waiting here and "you also have to get in line at the back", and then first distributed the guests to the free tables who had arrived in the meantime and were only there after us. This could have been solved differently and we left. It's a shame Cotidiano, the service was much friendlier, or to put it another way: unfortunately it wasn't hospitality.

You have to consider yourself lucky to get a seat here and the service afterwards is really bad. The staff is overwhelmed and therefore in a bad mood/unfriendly… plus the tables are so close to each other that you have to squeeze into your chair. The food is standard, the drinks could be better. Hardly/none in the Aperol Sour? Feeling alcohol. You've come to the right place if seeing and being seen is more important to you than anything else 😉

Had reserved in advance as there were 7 of us, which was definitely good as it was well attended. But we had a great place away from the action. We were served very well and the waiter was always attentive and very nice. The food and drinks were also very good and personal wishes were also taken into account. I can recommend the burger and the iced coffee from my own experience. We were also allowed to bring our own cake for a very reasonable extra charge because we were having a small private party. All in all, we girls were completely satisfied. Great evening and great location 👌

So anyone who gives 5 stars here is not seriously evaluating it. 🍽️ Food: I found the drink prices to be normal for the location and the area. However, I had a tea - and the price was absolutely ridiculous. A hot chocolate for €5? Okay, milk + chocolate, that costs something. Coffee for €5? Sure, coffee + machine maintenance etc. But a tea that's just a slightly higher quality bagged tea for €5⁉️ That's just audacious. I chose a Caesar chicken burger. You might not expect the best burgers from a cafe, but if it's on the menu it should be at least mediocre. What came next: cold microwave fries that weren't even cooked through, and an equally bad, thawed burger with stale bread and an industrial schnitzel with breading that was just warmed up. No chicken patty, no freshly fried meat - just a defrosted microwave schnitzel! 😡 🚻 Location: To top it all off, I wanted to go to the toilet - and was confronted with the smallest, filthiest toilet in the world. Zero privacy, acoustically completely open to the café. And if that wasn't bad enough, there wasn't even a coat hook in the tiny cabin. It was virtually impossible to keep my coat from falling onto the filthy floor when I sat down. 🤢 Service: I had to wait 25 minutes before I was allowed to pay despite repeated requests. Actually, I should have just stood up ❌ Conclusion: Grotesque gastronomy. Never again! 🚫

Good place for brunch. Had the French toast with chai cream and fruits, it was really good. The portion size was quite small though, so keep that in mind. Would go back again, but it does get quite busy so consider booking.

A great place to have a light dinner and a drink before visiting Gärtnerplatz Theater - that's what we enjoyed. I missed the Flammkuchen, that used to be on the menu though.

Cotidiano Gärtnerplatz was the venue for our first SAP Social Club event in Munich and we were not disappointed! Many thanks to the Cotidiano team for the excellent service as well as the excellent food and drinks. We'd love to come back!

The Caesar salad with crispy chicken was disappointing. The lettuce was wilted, the chicken tasted off, and the chopped paprika was stale. On top of that, the service was slow despite the restaurant not being busy. Overall, a letdown from Cotidiano this evening in terms of both food quality and service.

Cotidiano isn't what it used to be either... The food unfortunately tastes incredibly greasy and bad these days, whether it's eggs or just fries. The pretzel croissant wasn't a pretzel croissant, but a butter croissant, and it tasted three days old. The service was excellent, but it's no use if the food doesn't taste good.

We came on a Sunday and yes - it was full. We agreed that we could only have the table for an hour (okay, it was very loud anyway, not exactly an environment you would want to stay in forever). But then the waiter comes after 30 minutes (my drink was still half full) and asks us if we could pay (unless we order more?!): Sorry, that's not possible!! You don't go to a café to down your drink as quickly as possible and keep running?!

great food, the Alpenglück and American food were excellent. The price is high and we had to wait a bit but it was really worth it

Very busy, but after a short wait we still got a table without a reservation. A bit noisy (acoustic measures would be helpful) and the tables are quite narrow, but you can still sit comfortably. The food was good, everything tasted good. I have to deduct one star: the five crumbs of herder's cheese on the avocado toast cost 2 euros extra. I didn't think that was appropriate. We would still like to come back.

Our best breakfast experience in a long time. Attractively decorated, the coffee tasted very good, and the two meals were first class in terms of taste and appearance. We felt very well looked after. The prices are okay for the location on Gärtnerplatz. Cologne says: Two thumbs up and would love to come back 👍

Very tasty food. There is a large selection of coffee & cakes, a great selection for breakfast/brunch and even salads, bowls and burgers for lunch/dinner. Overall, a very great and tasty selection, the only negative point is that it is really quite expensive.

The pancakes were good. American style croissant is actually very good. The Belgian drinking chocolate was good, but not exceptional. Nice and creamy, but rather sweet. The cold matcha latte was very good. Only the fruit salad was disappointing: it consisted mostly of melon pieces, which had very little taste. The highlight was the Dubai cuts. The combination “works” very well as a pastry, perhaps even better than the table version.

I used to love going to Cotidiano, but in the last 1-2 years the prices have been raised so much, it's beyond rude! Absolutely shocking what is required here for small to normal portions. It's just become a hipster shop and, in my opinion, has completely lost what's good about it. Service is still friendly but the ambience loses its flair due to the prices and the so-so food. 🥲

This place blew us away. My bf and I are visiting Munich via Los Angeles, where good breakfast spots abound (in fact, I’m pretty sure LA is where ‘brunch’ became a verb) and we haven’t been this impressed in a while. The food was incredible — healthy, delicious, flavorful, and beautifully plated at a very reasonable price. Despite the place getting busy, our flat whites came out minutes after being ordered. In fact, all of our food came out quickly, which we were very happy with. But the real star was Mikaela, our server. It’s clear that this spot is beloved by the community, because from the moment we walked in to the time we left, the restaurant completely filled up. We watched Mikaela greet people, seat people, take orders, run food and drinks, and close out tables, all with a big smile and the warmest demeanor. I’ve worked in restaurants for ten years and served for a good chunk of that time and know how hard that is. AND she helped us in English! We will absolutely be back next time we’re in Munich, and are already recommending this location to our Munich-based family/friends.

Service was very unfriendly and not welcoming. On top of that: Matcha latte is some sugar non original mix which they agreed on. But argued I should have asked and made sure it's non original Edit after their reply: Very funny, they asked us to not come back after I asked about the matcha, and wanted to make us pay for extra water that we didn't consume as it arrived after we finished eating.

Very tasty "Golden latte" and the banana bread was also very good. Service was alone so it wasn't too quick, but quick enough and he was still very accommodating.

There is no queue for brunch on a Sunday, this is for good reason.

My experiences: The often extremely disinterested service, who likes to look right through guests or roll their eyes in annoyance at the simplest questions, outshines the otherwise beautiful concept.

It was strange that you had to follow the two employees and the chef out the door to order drinks and disturb them while they smoked. However, people there enjoyed smoking cigarettes, but were fair and honest and said clearly that they were all unskilled workers

This was simply the best breakfast I have ever had. Many choices available for every taste. Orange juice was more a smoothie than juice but I love it. I had Avocade toast de luxe containing two eggs. Super good start for the day. Opened on Sunday 8am which was one of the few open places.

There are delicious food and drinks here. Healthy food and milk alternatives are also available.

A wonderfulky warming Glühwein (could've been a tad tangier) and a wonderful raspberry cocktail creation. Fun vibes inside and on the terrace.

Very nice staff and helpful, unfortunately the burger and fries were cold and then everything was supposedly remade, which was unsuccessful because the meat was still cold and the fries had already been seen by the hairdresser several times. My wife's pastry was great for that.

The waiters are very nice, but local cafes usually leave immediately after finishing the meal. It is recommended to follow local customs so that everyone can have a good time.

Despite having a reservation, we had to wait almost 20 minutes. The table was free but the service was so stressful that we weren't seated. The service was very friendly but unfortunately it took a long time for the food to arrive. Unfortunately the food was a total disappointment. It looked really great but the taste was just boring and bland. That was definitely the last time.

This is the best cafe in Munich. I visit Munich once or twice a year and come here every time. Great location, especially in the summer outside on the square, just wonderful. The food is great. I've tried a lot of things and everything is delicious, even great for vegetarians. The drinks are great too, just a bit too much ice. The prices are normal for Munich - OK, so totally doable. Avocado toast, muesli or tight max, it's all there, especially for everyone and it's really the best.

It's actually nice and I'd love to come back, but you just have to work through it and have a time frame after which you have to leave. It's not quite as relaxed. Nevertheless, everything is good and the service is nice despite the busy restaurant and the stress.

The worst service I have ever had, we came in three people with reserved table at 12 pm on 02.01.25. An extremely unprofessional, racist, xenophobic, non professional guy with tatoo, long hair treated us so badly, as we informed that we had a reseservation, but he kept letting other local clients going inside without a reservation. He just started screaming with us arguing we did not have a reservation, telling us to leave the place, however his behaviour does not match with this place, that seems to be good. This guy is not prepared to deal people, his stress management should be improved. Considering that I work in the high end segment (luxury) in Zurich Switzerland, that I deal daily with people from everywhere, I must stay calm at any circunstances even woth demanding clients. Therefore I feel obliged sharing this experience that hurted me a lot. I toke a picture from outside only the name COTIDIANO. This guy who mentioned being the manager came outside touching my body...How it ended I will not share, but if you are a foreign avoid this place. We ended up after calming down in another very nice coffee Glockenspiel, with an awesome, #mature and prepared team.

Very wonderful restaurant for breakfast

The food is so delicious and flavorful. It’s a must when you’re in town. They have so many branches, check which one is closer to you.

Since we have a 3-year-old child, I wanted to visit a place that offers a kids’ menu for breakfast, and I found just that here. The interior is spacious, and the staff is attentive. Contrary to some reviews, the service was reasonably quick. The location is easy to find, situated on a roundabout and just a 5-minute walk from Marienplatz.

5 star food, service and atmosphere. One of the best brunches in Munich. Definitely try the Amerikanicher Croissant - incredible & cooked to perfection. Lovely staff who spoke multiple languages and were super helpful and kind. Good relaxed atmosphere and a nice vibe overall. Will definitely be back!

A perfect brunch spot with so mouthwatering sandwiches, delicious cocktails, and a cozy vibe. The food is so much tasty and it is also a perfect Instagram spot, making it the ideal place to relax and capture the moment 📸. The place is usually full, but we were lucky to get a table without a reservation and a long queue.

The food tastes very good, maybe. A bit expensive for the portion sizes, but unfortunately going to a restaurant has now become a luxury... The service is very friendly and always has a smile for the guests, even when the workload is high. What I think is a shame is that you can only make a reservation for breakfast for 1.5 hours, after which you can only occupy the table for one hour. This can be really tight when there is a lot going on and you have to wait a long time for your food and is probably not intended for comfortable sitting together, but is just about quick, high turnover of guests. In addition, the tables are very closely spaced so that everyone can follow the conversations of the other guests without being disturbed. This gives the whole thing a somewhat rushed, uncomfortable atmosphere. It's a shame, because the food and service are actually great...!

This place had the best brunch I’ve tried. Perfectly cooked everything: eggs, cakes, bacon etc. Such a cozy place, full of light and plants. Beware: Reserve in advance if you do not want to wait for long (we waited about half an hour). Also, the bagel bread isnt really a bagel, just a soft bread. Otherwise service was great and I would suggest this to everyone. Ps. Best pistachio cake I have tried 💚

An absolute tip for all breakfast lovers! The café is beautifully decorated and exudes a cozy atmosphere. The breakfast was a dream - fresh ingredients, lovingly prepared and the taste was simply perfect. The service was super friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The restaurant is very easy to reach by public transport. The service is quick and friendly. The food was brought to our table relatively quickly and tasted very good. Gladly again.

Everything is right here: nice location right on Gärtnerplatz, the sunny terrace is lively, a little more quiet inside, friendly service and a diverse selection of food and the most important thing: it tastes good. A safe bank in the Glockenbachviertel.

The most value for money brunch in Munich. Portions normal, quick service. The only negative thing is that people keep coming in and there are several tables inside, so it gets busy.
