Zum Sollner Hirschen in München

We've been here several times in the last few months and have always enjoyed ourselves, especially the food. The wait was sometimes a bit too long, particularly in the summer when sitting outside, but otherwise there's nothing to complain about. The food selection is very good and varied, the taste is excellent, the portions are good, and the price/performance ratio is also solid.

We ordered two roast pork shoulders. One had no crackling at all and was hard and rubbery, while the other had a hard crackling. When we pointed this out, the best excuse was "the cook was out of crackling" (we were there at 3 pm). It was obvious from the sight and taste that it wasn't fresh and that this was what was left over. The price of €16.50 is absolutely unjustified, but oh well, at least the dogs are happy with the meat. TOTAL €71!!!

We had a wonderful time at the restaurant. We enjoyed excellent food and mulled wine, and even had the opportunity to chat with the waiters in our own language – especially with Agron, who was exceptionally friendly. All in all: our highest praise and warmest recommendation! ♡

We had a wonderful evening with extremely friendly service, and the food was almost perfect for us. Especially the fries 😉 We prefer the small room with the fireplace and had a very nice table. We'd love to come back!

Typical dishes prepared to order, generous portions, good service... the atmosphere is not typical.

We visited the lovely Hirschen again on Friday after a bit of a break. After one or two less-than-ideal experiences in recent years, we decided to give it another try after the restaurant's recent changes. It was fantastic. Excellent service, a beautiful atmosphere, very good food, and great value for money. Everything was top-notch, including a beautifully redesigned outdoor area, now featuring curling and a fire pit. Great! 👍

It is an exceptional place to see real Bavarian care. Traditional, but with very good hospitality. Starting with customer service, table service, including only people who wanted to have a beer only. The place is without a doubt, one of the best in Solln, to eat Deer & Co. Both the winter lounge, as well as the dining areas, are a surprise of good taste and tradition. I will definitely come back with clients.

Nice restaurant. The roast pork was delicious and plentiful. The potato dumplings, on the other hand, were even worse. It goes without saying that you can't get freshly grated dumplings, but you could definitely choose better ready-made products. It's a real shame about the meal. The service wasn't particularly friendly! It's been better.

The beer garden is small and cozy, partly shaded, partly sunny. The food is appealing, but rather upscale. Friendly service and child-friendly. Unfortunately, no meals for children or seniors. Bread is extra, including salads. The restrooms are clean. Pleasant ambiance inside.

"Back chicken salad" is on the menu, but what I got was a small salad with a thin, breaded chicken schnitzel. It had nothing to do with back chicken. The waiter was overwhelmed; I ordered my second beer three times before it finally arrived.

Quaint, homely fare with a taste for fine dining, a great terrace, and a lovely beer garden with a playground. Top location near the S-Bahn station. The price/performance ratio is top-notch, including the food: zander fillet, veal schnitzel, and Kaiserschmarrn (sweet pancakes). It was excellent.

Truly soooo delicious! The horseradish schnitzel is a dream! I was still thinking about it days later. The portion was perfect, the service was very attentive. And on weekends, they even broadcast F1 on the big screen 😁

A very pleasant beer garden. Friendly service. The food could be improved; they serve frozen schnitzel instead of fried chicken, which I find completely unacceptable.

We ordered the salad with fried chicken and got a salad with pressed chicken as a schnitzel. The waiter, who wasn't the fastest anyway, didn't care. The chef does that, not me. Bread with both salads; mine with goat cheese was also quite hard. The waiter made us wait a quarter of an hour to pay; it wasn't busy. It's a shame to get such a meal with good Augustiner beer. I wonder if the venison will get another chance... We'll see.

Great service, unfortunately always too cold in the winter garden, that's ok, unfortunately the menu changes very rarely. A little more variety would be nice.

The food is good, but was significantly better a few weeks or months ago. We were thrilled back then, but this time the quality has noticeably decreased, especially with the cheese spaetzle and the burger. Therefore unfortunately only 3 stars. The ambience and service are top.

Started very well, but unfortunately didn't stick with it. If the playground in the back got a little more love and finally new trampolines that are not dangerously broken and are still there, and the garbage wasn't piled up at the playground, then more parents would certainly come to the beer garden. It's a shame that no work is being done on it yet. There isn't that much on offer here, and it would certainly be a great opportunity!

Very nice atmosphere and nice service. Food is okay but hopelessly overpriced. Children's schnitzel for €15.50 and fried chicken salad, which doesn't deserve its name, for €17.50, the burger for €17.50 was good, but a bit expensive. Unfortunately, nothing has improved with the change of tenant. I think it's gotten worse.

ADDENDUM March 2025: Augustiner has been running the Hirschen for almost a year. The service as well as the taste and quality of the food have improved significantly since then and we don't even need to talk about the beer... We now enjoy going to the Hirschen again and often stop by the beer garden, especially in summer!!! Old review: Beautiful building, nice interior, nice beer garden. Service was very attentive and friendly but TOTALLY understaffed, therefore a very long wait for service, drinks and inevitably also for food. Kitchen probably also understaffed. Food prepared carelessly, probably under stress. Entrecote with fried potatoes was okay at best. Käsespätzle is definitely a ready-made convenience product (I come from the industry and can judge that), but the taste is okay... We haven't been happy twice recently with our decision to go to the deer and we'll leave it alone in the future... It's a shame, it used to be great!

Das ist ein supergemütliches Restaurant mit einer sehr freundlichen, witzigen Bedienung und einem prima Essen. Besonders schön ist das Stüberl und sehr empfehlenswert ist das Hühnchen mit Salat, aber auch die vegetarischen Spezialitäten schmecken super. Mein Mann liebt die Roulade.

Der Service war ausgezeichnet, die Küche zauberte ein großartiges Geburtstagsmenü und der Nebenraum (Zirbelstube) war festlich und einladend eingedeckt. Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis war absolut in Ordnung. Ein rund um gelungenes Fest. Danke an den Betreiber, die Küche und den Service. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Delicious food and good service with good, home-style, Bavarian offerings. We had lunch there and the inn was busy, but the service was still great and we were served quickly.

Thank you for the excellent evening at Hirschen. We had our Christmas party afterwards and it was really perfect. From the food to the service. A big compliment from everyone to our waiter Vince, who sweetened our evening even more.

Unfortunately the music was a bit too melancholic for me but the Kaiserschmarrn, goat cheese salad and the service were great. Unfortunately, the deer was a little dry. Overall, an absolute recommendation, everything I asked for was addressed.

Very good food, service…can be improved. The (possibly) Italian, older waiter rarely showed up, hardly thanked him for the tip and apart from carrying the food, there was... nothing. It's a shame because the rest was really good!

A brownie with very delicious hot chocolate. A good Bavarian cream And according to my mother-in-law, a good schnitzel. In short: good all around. Gladly again!

Der Internetauftritt ist dringend zu überarbeiten. Die Onlinebuchung über Open Table kam gar nicht an, so dass gar kein Tisch für uns reserviert war. Die Option soll Relikt aus Zeiten der vorigen Besitzer sein. Es war aber nicht voll, daher bekamen wir auch so einen Tisch. Gut gegangen. Der Gastraum sehr ansprechend und schön renoviert, großer schöner Biergarten, zu dessen Betrieb wir saisonbedingt nichts sagen können. Das Essen war reichlich und hat allen geschmeckt. Der Kellner war sehr erfahren, hat die Stimmung des jeweiligen Gastes sehr gut aufgenommen und war sehr gastfreundlich. Allerdings gibt es die im Internet angegebenen veganen Optionen gar nicht. Auch wohl so ein Relikt. Hm. Es wurde mit beiderseitigem Entgegenkommen aber dann doch ein leckeres Gericht daraus. Wer in Bayern vegan unterwegs ist, weiß, was hungern heißt. Aber hier war das alles, obwohl unvorbereitet , gar kein Problem. Vielen Dank an die Küche dafür! Insgesamt wurde das jeweilige Essen von allen als gut, die Käsespätzle als hervorragend befunden. Wir haben uns insgesamt, nicht zuletzt auch wegen des super Kellners sehr wohl gefühlt.

We came on Saturday evening and the restaurant was full. But the waiter took care of us and sat us down at a longer table. This wasn't a problem for anyone and got us a seat without having to wait. We chose cheese spaetzle and Cesear salad. The spaetzle was great and the salad was also plentiful. I ordered a pretzel just to be on the safe side, but it wasn't needed. Even though all the tables were occupied, the service worked smoothly and you had the feeling that someone was living their calling here. Thank you for the hospitality and the nice evening!

I was there the day before yesterday and the food was A1. Then there was a young man with long hair who was always attentive and his service complemented the whole thing with ease. I would like to come back…

Nice restaurant, right next to the Solln S-Bahn. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed. There are some vegetarian options that are delicious. The Kaiserschmarrn is also good!

Nos recibieron amablemente, pero no muy amable. Nuestra mesa estaba en una zona que parecía una cafetería de la estación de tren en lugar de un buen restaurante y las sillas eran muy incómodas. La camarera parecía tenerla libre - día y también el cocinero, al parecer. El «ofenfrischer Krustendschweinebraten» no parecía ser «ofenfrisch» y ciertamente no tenía «Krust», pero estaba muy empapado. El plato estaba tibio como mucho y la ensalada de col no era nada agradable. Uno de nosotros tenía una hamburguesa con papas fritas; estas papas no eran comestibles; aceitosas, grasas a través y a través! Le mencionamos todo esto a nuestra camarera, que se encogió de hombros. Este no va a ser nuestro restaurante favorito a la vuelta de la esquina. Pitty.

We have eaten here several times in the summer. The ambience is really appealing and the area outside has a pleasant atmosphere that invites you to linger. The service is also worth highlighting: The staff were friendly, attentive and always tried to ensure that the guests had a nice evening. Unfortunately I can only rate the food as mediocre. The dishes were attractively prepared, but the taste was not really convincing. The onion roast was done, instead of medium rare, and lacked a bit of seasoning. I was more than disappointed with the Caesar salad, it was a simple salad in a bag and there was still a piece of the bag in it. Given the already overpriced prices, I simply expect better quality and taste. Overall, the restaurant has potential, especially due to the great service and beautiful ambience. Maybe I'll give it another chance in the future in the hope that the cuisine improves.

Especially in the beer garden: Relax and feel good

Everything OK. But Vincent, who served me, deserves special mention: Fast, attentive, friendly - simply great!!! I think both the boss and Vincent himself should know this. He is an absolute asset to this restaurant!

The restaurant & beer garden has a new ownership and staff, the place has undergone renovation and the changes have been to the better in all aspects. Food is now of very good quality and portions are now generous & right for a "Bavarian Wirtshaus". So far, we've been there twice after the owner had changed and the place re-opened. We've had the Münchner Schnitzel, Schnitzel Wiener Art, green side sales, soups and Kaiserschmarrn. All was really well made and served, and the Kaiserschmarrn was a very nice surprise, extremely well prepared, "fluffy and eggy" as it should be. The beergarden is now cleaned up with new furniture, everything looks contemporary and cozy now. The inside appears much, much cleaned up, modern, tasteful and worthy of the "Augustiner" brand it carries. I gave it a 2,5 star rating five years ago with the previous owner, and it's now solidly a full five stars for me.

We were there for the first time in May and have been there many times since. In my opinion, the change of tenant and reopening were very successful. We ate very well every time, the service was great and I like the redesign. Augustiner is now being served 👍🍻

A beautiful oasis near the Solln S Bahn. A magical garden and outdoor area. It is now possible to bring a snack with you and is very friendly and helpful. We like it and would love to come back.

The restaurant “Zum Sollner Hirschen” is a true pearl in the Solln city area and offers an incomparable experience. As soon as you enter the restaurant you are greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The furnishings are tasteful, elegant and immediately create a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. The service is absolutely first class. The staff is attentive, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the dishes and wines on the menu. They manage to make you feel like a very special guest without seeming intrusive. Thank you for this unique experience and see you next time. It's 5 stars from me.

Great service and great food. I can only recommend it to everyone!!

After a long time we were once again guests at the Sollner Hirschen. The service was hospitable and eloquent, the ambience was good. We were mostly disappointed with the food. We ordered a fried chicken salad. Breaded chicken breast fillet was delivered. But chicken breast fillet is not fried chicken. There were also some greens in the form of a ready-made salad mix, two slices of cucumber and a piece of tomato. There were also a few slices of avocado, which is quite unusual for a fried chicken salad. The salart “creation” was literally drowned in a very salty tasting, sweet and sour dressing. There is no trace of a potato salad or pumpkin seed oil, both typical of a good fried chicken salad. At least the chicken breast fillet tasted okay. We find it unacceptable to charge €18 for 5 pieces of breaded chicken breast fillet and some ready-made salad mix (the latter with an estimated material price of a few cents). But we had ordered a second dish: fried fish with potato and cucumber salad, also for 18 euros. A very manageable piece of fried fish was served, an equally manageable portion of potato and cucumber salad (which would have looked good with the fried chicken salad) and some tartar sauce. The fish tasted okay except for the fact that the breading tasted sweet. It was freshly fried and juicy. I don't need to say much about the potato salad: as I see it, it was industrially produced potato salad from Kugler Feinkost. The chef then made this product his creation with a few slices of cucumber. When asked about this, the waitress completely confirmed my suspicions. He stated that there wasn't much going on at the moment and that otherwise they would make the potato salad themselves. Whether this is lip service is beyond my knowledge. In any case, he explained that there was no mention of “homemade” potato salad on the menu. He's actually right about that. Our conclusion: The price/performance ratio for the dishes we ordered was not right for us. In addition, you should not make sense of traditional dishes such as a fried chicken salad and you should not delight the guest with factory-made potato salad at a restaurant with obviously fairly high gastronomic standards.

Wir waren nach längerer Zeit wieder einmal beim Sollner Hirschen zu Gast. Die Bedienung war gastfreundlich und eloquent, das Ambiente gut. Vom Essen waren wir größtenteils enttäuscht. Wir hatten einen Backhendl-Salat bestellt. Angeliefert wurde jedoch paniertes Hähnchenbrustfilet. Hähnchenbrustfilet ist aber kein Backhendl. Dazu gab es etwas Grünzeug in Form einer Fertigsalat-Mischung, zwei Salatgurken-Scheiben und ein Stück Tomate. Zusätzlich befanden sich auf dem Teller, für einen Backhendl-Salat reichlich untypisch, einige Scheiben Avocado. Die gesamte Salat-"Kreation" wurde förmlich in einem sehr salzig schmeckenden, süß-sauren Dressing ertränkt. Von einem Kartoffel-Salat oder Kürbiskernöl, beides typisch für einen guten Backhendl-Salat, weit und breit keine Spur. Wenigstens war das Hähnchenbrustfilet geschmacklich in Ordnung. Für 5 Streifen paniertes Hähnchenbrustfilet und etwas Fertigsalat-Mischung (letzterer mit einem Materialpreis von schätzungsweise unter einem Euro) einen Preis von 18 € aufzurufen, finden wir in Bezug auf das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht akzeptabel. Aber wir hatten aber noch ein zweites Gericht bestellt: Backfisch mit Kartoffel-Gurken-Salat, ebenfalls für 18 Euro. Serviert wurde ein sehr überschaubares Stück Backfisch, eine ebenso übersichtliche Portion Kartoffel-Gurken-Salat (der dem Backhendl-Salat gut zu Gesicht gestanden hätte) und etwas Remoulade. Der Fisch war bis auf die Tatsache, dass die Panade süß schmeckte, geschmacklich in Ordnung. Es war frisch gebacken und saftig. Über den Kartoffelsalat brauche ich nicht viel berichten: Es handelte sich meiner Wahrnehmung nach um industriell hergestellten Kartoffelsalat aus dem Haus Kugler Feinkost. Der Koch hat dieses Produkt dann mit ein paar Gurkenscheiben zu seiner Kreation gemacht. Darauf angesprochen, bestätigte die Bedienung meine Vermutung vollständig. Sie gab an, dass zur Zeit nicht so viel los sei und man sonst aber den Kartoffelsalat selbst herstellen würde. Ob es sich dabei um ein Lippenbekenntnis handelt, entzieht sich meiner Kenntnis. Jedenfalls führte sie aus, dass auf der Speisekarte ja auch nicht die Rede von "hausgemachtem" Kartoffelsalat gewesen sei. Damit hat sie sogar recht. Unser Fazit: Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis hat für uns bei den bestellten Gerichten nicht gestimmt. Zudem sollte man traditionelle Gerichte wie einen Backhendl-Salat nicht sinnfrei verfremden und den Gast bei einem Gasthaus mit offensichtlich halbwegs hoch gestecktem gastronomischem Anspruch nicht mit Kartoffelsalat aus der Fabrik beglücken.

It actually has a nice self-service beer garden, but it was closed when the weather was nice. The dishes are too expensive.

The new ambience is nicely done, the service is nice but the food could use a little more spice. Went here with a large group and it was bland on every plate.

I've eaten here many times over the years, and it's always been nice. Since my last visit, however, the beer garden area has been nicely improved. It looks nicer and is more convenient. Tables with tablecloths have wait service, those that don't are self service from the outside counters. Located directly next to the Solln S7 station.

A decent place to vibe and have some local food, be aware it's next to a train station which can impact the atmosphere a little. Good varies from really good to good. A lil bit more sauce would be nice sometimes depending on the dish but extra requests are always met.

We were there last night. A very nice beer garden. I ordered a Caesar salad and got a Handel salad. He was drowned in ready-made sauce. We've tried it several times now, but they definitely need to step it up in the kitchen. Very unfortunate.

Unfortunately, it is still a problem to recruit sufficient staff. After half an hour we were only able to order the food after being asked. Another 40 minutes of waiting until the food (roast pork) came to the table. So, more than an hour until you get to eat. Unfortunately this is the second time it's happened, it's no fun

Super nice place and really well done. We were there for the round of 16 for the first time since the reopening. Ambiance and mood great. But the caprese salad is already a proud price at €18.90... ok, I knew that when I ordered but 3!!! Slices of tomatoes, a mozzarella and a little rocket is cheeky... well... you can't see me anymore and everyone at the big table said the same thing...

Been there a lot lately and the food is good. But unfortunately the service staff were very unfriendly, especially a man with a glaze and a beard, he treated me disrespectfully and canceled orders without telling me.

Absolutely the lowest level!!! I've never really experienced a store like this. We were there recently with the gang and I would say we are a really relaxed group but the way we were treated there was really unacceptable. At the beginning my friend had to wait outside. The reservation was only found when the person who actually made the reservation arrived... but not in the beer garden as reserved but was directed inside. Then it took about 25 minutes until we got our drinks. We also wanted to eat something, but after the cards were thrown on the table we were no longer considered in this regard. When my other friend approached the waiter for the first time about ordering food, we were clearly turned away with a cold, ignorant shoulder. However, when I saw the prices in combination with the size of the portions, I lost my appetite and was quite happy that I didn't eat anything there. I'm also surprised why a salad costs more than a roast pork haha. Then we wanted a second drink at the end, which came quite quickly. I then ordered the receipt directly with the second drink. I was then taught with a hand gesture that I should stay cool and calm down. When we left the waitress apologized to us which made the experience just a little bit better. I was really shocked and I absolutely cannot recommend this store to anyone!

Wir waren hier mit Freunden. Der Laden wurde erst vor Kurzem renoviert und ist unter neuer Leitung. Die neuen Inhaber sind freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir saßen im Selbstbedienungsbereich und ich habe ein alkoholfreies Augustiner getrunken. Das gibt es noch nicht lange, ist aber gut und man merkt, dass es Augustiner Bier ist. Die Nachfrage ist so hoch, so dass es das Bier nur in der Gastronomie gibt. Der halbe Liter kostete 4,60 €, der Liter 9 €, egal ob mit oder ohne Alkohol. Dazu hatten wir keine große Brezel, ein kleines Hähnchen ohne Beilage, was ich teuer fand, und einen Obatzten. Das Ambiente war in Ordnung, das Personal auch freundlich.

Finally a cozy place again where beer garden friends and friends of the cultivated pub culture can meet again! To accompany the freshly tapped Augustiner beer (€4.50) there is a rich snack board or the Viennese style schnitzel. Both are freshly made and beautifully presented, and there is also wonderful bread and pretzels. We were particularly impressed by the freshly prepared Kaiserschmarrn with apple compote and plum roast, served in a Bratreindl: wonderfully fluffy and dusted with plenty of powdered sugar (by the way: without raisins). The new, young boss and his husband and wife are doing everything right - fast and extremely friendly, empathetic service. Please keep it up - the people of Solln have had to wait long enough!

Modern Bavarian inn in a turn-of-the-century villa with a cozy pub garden. Beer specialties from “Augustiner” are served and guests can enjoy typical beer garden snacks in the small self-service area. My wife and I decided on a “Sollner Hirsch” snack board, which was nicely put together with ham, meat loaf, meat patties, egg, Obatzda and other things. Only it would have included a slice of bread. But we definitely spent a pleasant Sunday afternoon at “Zum Sollner Hirschen”.
