Augustiner am Dante in München

Went here with colleagues for a Weißwurst meal. There was nothing to complain about. The beer and white wine were very good. The specials on the menu were also appealing and very reasonably priced, especially by Munich standards. Service was courteous, and the atmosphere is typical of a Bavarian pub.

One member of staff is truly outstanding (this lady has also been in the service department for a long time), very friendly, courteous, and service-oriented. Unfortunately, the other ladies in the service department can't keep up: even the difference between 0.2 and 0.25 liters is unclear, and to top it off, their tone is rather unfriendly. There were also problems with the food: our dishes didn't arrive at the same time, and my duck wasn't cooked well. This significantly spoiled the visit. We used to enjoy being regular guests, but in the future we will look for other Bavarian restaurants; there are some very good alternatives in Neuhausen.

Disappointed visit – Unfortunately, not like it used to be… I still remember my visit in 2018, when the restaurant was truly a delight – the food was excellent, the ambiance was perfect, and the evening was a great success overall. Unfortunately, the disappointment on my last visit was all the greater. The food wasn't quite as convincing. The goulash, in particular, was unfortunately very tough and didn't live up to the high standard I remembered. The spices could have been better balanced, which spoiled the taste experience. The ambiance also seemed less inviting, which not only dampened the atmosphere but also impacted the entire experience. Another point I don't want to leave unmentioned is the service. The waitress served us friendly, but it took a long time before she noticed that we wanted to order something else. Unfortunately, I continued to struggle with stomach pain until the next day after the visit, which further dampened the impression. I hope the restaurant returns to its former glory, because the potential is definitely there. I would like to have a better experience in the future.

A "homemade" Kaiserschmarrn in just 10 minutes – incredibly crispy (!🫣) and obviously not very fresh. What a shame.

Bavarian home cooking—plenty, tastes OK, but nothing more. Due to the proximity to the cemetery, larger groups are served, which requires appropriate catering. Service can be slow at times.

Two of us went there for lunch on a Saturday around 2:00 PM. We received extremely friendly and prompt service. The food was very good. The coffee and cake are also highly recommended. We'd be happy to come back when we're in the area.

Several smaller, very cozy dining rooms. Fast, friendly service and excellent food: duck with dumplings and red cabbage, followed by perfectly cooked "Kauserschmarrn" (smoked pancakes).

Not recommended! I ordered one beer and one Obatzda with crusty bread. The beer was good, and the bread basket contained two crusts and two half-small slices, more of the "farmer's bread" type than "crusty bread." The bread was stale and dry. Since I like crusty bread, I remained silent. The Obatzda was quite thin and watery—I can get better elsewhere. Then I discovered salt crumbs from a pretzel I didn't have in the empty bread basket, and the napkin used to cushion it was wet in the middle. So, the bread was from the day before, and the bread basket was from the previous customer! Unhygienic! Unbelievable! The waitress: "Don't tell me that!" The waiter takes the cash. I hand over a bill. He: "Is that right?" I: "No!" He: "Go to the manager." I went to the manager and voiced my complaint. She grinned, "I'm sorry. The bread is baked fresh every morning. I'll pass this on." I won't check whether the quality has improved since then, as I'll never go there again. I wouldn't recommend it!

Quite nice, but there are much better Augustiner restaurants in the city. Service was very friendly.

I was part of a group at the restaurant. We sat in the covered outdoor area behind the restaurant, not directly on the street, which was very pleasant. The service was prompt and friendly. I particularly want to mention the Kaiserschmarrn. I haven't had anything this delicious in a long time! The only drawback: smoking at neighboring tables. I should also mention that the restaurant is a short walk from the Westfriedhof public transport stop.

The food is very good! But the waiter is a disaster. He takes 20-30 minutes to even come over and ask me what I want to order. He sometimes even serves guests who arrived after me before me.

We ordered three light beers and a water today. We got a water (water was correct) and three light beers in a 0.5-liter non-alcoholic glass (which we got but didn't order). When we asked the waitress, she said that was just the glasses. Unfortunately, it was non-alcoholic beer. This shouldn't happen in an Augustiner pub. We paid the manager's friend. He said it was just a mental thing for us. We won't be going there again. What a shame.

The Swabian pan didn't satisfy me. The mushroom sauce was thin, like a soup, and almost overflowed. I'd rather go back to the classic roast pork.

Cozy restaurant with good food. It was pleasantly busy on a Thursday evening (not too crowded, not too empty). We were there for dinner, there was fresh asparagus. The portion could have been a little larger, but there was still room for dessert. Everything tasted very good! The side salad was particularly good, as it was very fresh and tasty.

The Augustiner am Dantebad is a typically traditional Bavarian inn, and also has a slightly smaller beer garden-style outdoor seating area. The food is hearty, home-style, and the menu offers a substantial selection for every taste. The service and waitresses are warm and attentive, fitting the atmosphere—simply typically Bavarian, rustic, and cozy. The best place to find parking is on Dantestraße, which isn't always easy. I go there several times a year, and if you enjoy typical Bavarian inn tradition, then this is the place for you.

So the food is very tasty. I would like to highlight the very tasty warm Bavarian potato salad and the mega Kaiserschmarrn. Unfortunately we had very bad luck with our waiter. He didn't bring a children's menu, ok, not bad. We simply asked. Upon request, everything was available with a choice of fries. Children ordered food and drinks. Well, he probably had a bad day. The wrong drinks, ok that can happen, then the children came to eat and no fries. Although ordered with it. No problem, ask and get a succinct answer, as it says so on the children's menu. (I'm sorry that the children wanted these and were looking forward to them all day) We never got them. No matter ordered extra fries. Wishes we could have told the wall about our food were not taken into account. We just left it like that, he was either overwhelmed today or didn't care. Us too. After asking for the fourth time, we were allowed to order dessert, but of course it didn't come together. But each child received individually, parents and everyone else with sense knows what kind of war we had at the table. Ok, he can't know and he can't care. Funnily enough, it works elsewhere too. Doesn't matter. Dessert for the adults also came, but without plates and cutlery for 3 but for 1, although it was specifically mentioned and requested. We didn't ask anymore about the drinks we had ordered. But we looked at the bill to see if there were any bonuses. Luckily they didn't say no, otherwise I don't know if it would have turned out so well that evening. We had visitors from another city and the other family really wanted to stay in Augustiner. Because it was recommended to them. Well, rarely have we felt unwelcome. If the food hadn't been so delicious, we would have asked if she was serious. Well, I think we'll still go somewhere else the next time we visit Munich. Oh well, our children were all quiet, thanks to the tablet and the Lady Bug series. Sorry, we didn't want children crying and arguing in the restaurant in the evening.

What a shame! My 75th birthday was celebrated with many other guests I didn't know in the smallest, adjoining room. We were 15 guests, the other table had 14 guests. It was very, very loud! Neither group could have a conversation, just shouting at each other. Some guests left immediately after dinner. It had been agreed otherwise, even for the other group. It's a shame for both groups, the shouting. Does the Augustiner really need to charge as many guests as possible? What a shame, the birthday is over, and I'm sad and appalled by this treatment! It was supposed to be a beautiful and harmonious celebration that we'd all remember fondly and I'd gladly pay for. Luckily, I've never experienced anything like that. So, for me, this restaurant is over.

We had pancake soup and pretzel soup with beef broth and spices. ordered. Unfortunately the 'beef broth' was just thickened water and didn't taste like anything. The two waitresses only responded to the criticism with a nod. Well, I guess they don't need it or need to save 🤷🏼

The restaurant has good cuisine and very friendly service. The service is quick and attentive. However, you shouldn't come to the restaurant hungry. I paid 19.90 euros for a schnitzel with pumpkin panade with fries and was really very disappointed how small this portion was! The customer should be full for this money but I think that was not the case. For this reason, I will no longer stop there. Price and performance should be right, no one should leave a restaurant hungry for the money they spent, right?

Food was ok servings on the smaller side. For the price I would recommend maybe Augustiner Spieglwirt better ambience better food quality and size with the same price. Overall was bit disappointing experience. The beer was great and is served in smaller sizes aswell.

The visit to the Augustiner am Dante was a complete success. Despite a packed house and numerous reservations for a TV broadcast, the team managed to organize a place for us straight away - that's what I call perfect service! The Bavarian cuisine was, as always, excellent. The dishes are not only authentic, but also incredibly delicious. The Augustiner Hell non-alcoholic was particularly impressive, as it tastes simply great and goes perfectly with a cozy evening. A big compliment to the entire team for their hospitality and the fast, courteous service. We would definitely like to come back!

Food was super tasty. Our group of 40 people had drinks after 10 minutes and everyone had their food within 20 minutes

The staff was very friendly, quick, attentive, present and open to requests for changes. That's why the star. As a main course I ordered the salad bowl with beetroot buffer for €16.90. A bowl came the size of a small side salad. Inside are a few barely dressed lettuce leaves, 2 slices of cucumber and 4 cherry tomato halves. Then a beetroot patty in two halves. Maybe ok for a small starter for €8.50, but an absolute disgrace for a main course at this price!! My husband is usually of the opinion that in a Bavarian restaurant you eat roast pork and nothing vegan. But the crust of his roast pork was limp, the portion was also very small and the taste was below average. Too bad! Because the restaurant is very cozy and since it is close to us, we have been going there every now and then for many years. But there is also the good Augustiner with a crisp roast pork elsewhere.

Nevertheless, the selection was large, I felt very comfortable, everything was beautifully decorated and decorated (December) The restaurant was busy and a bit noisy. After my obligatory visit to the cemetery, I like to go to the Augustiner am Dante. The food there is usually good to satisfactory. But unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not always right if the food is served carelessly, overcooked or fried. That shouldn't be the case, it's a shame. Because the atmosphere here is cozy. Because if I'm paying so much as a guest, I would also like to be lovingly served a correspondingly good meal, just as it used to be here.

Very loud, portions extremely clear, but also salty for Munich prices. For a Viennese schnitzel it can be around €30, but unfortunately you won't find great culinary art. In my opinion, one rests on the name Augustiner and the neighboring large Westfriedhof. Staff really friendly, but they can't be bothered anymore. No reason to come back.

I ate schnitzel and sausage. Water sausage? 😂🤣 I don't know the name, but it was delicious~ I tried schnitzel out of curiosity, but it just tasted like fried pork haha. It tastes like pork cutlet without seasoning? So I think it's a good idea to try it at least once when you're just curious. The beer was delicious too.

Soup a bit too salty, roast pork dry, dumplings and sauce taste bland. The place was full. Food is pre-cooked and you can taste it.

Neptune Bowl ...no mention of bowls. The chef should read up on what a bowl is. A subpar, medium-sized salad plate lacking any sophistication. Then a pike-perch fillet the size of your palm with a thimble (really!) of mango chutney. It tasted really good and was eaten straight away with a small spoon. Too overpriced at €19.90 + you don't get what is on the menu, but quickly. The waiter was nice + professional.

I can rate this restaurant as average at best. We were there yesterday and reserved a table inside. As soon as we arrived, we moved our seats outside because the smell of cooking was noticeable throughout the entire dining room. The food and drinks were ok so far, but when it got dark we went back to the dining room, especially since the first impression was that the smell of the kitchen was no longer noticeable; After a good 1 1/2 hours we left this restaurant and when we got home, all of our clothing smelled strongly of that kitchen smell. A prescribed, professional ventilation system cannot consist of allowing the kitchen smell that always occurs to escape into the dining room, especially since regular, thorough cleaning of the ventilation system in the restaurant kitchen is essential anyway. What a shame actually!

A maximum average restaurant. The staff is listless and seems annoyed, a smile was too much to ask for the entire duration of our stay. After looking at the menu, I wanted to order a Oktoberfest pretzel as a side dish, which was followed by the answer that it wasn't there and if it was, it certainly wasn't at the price stated on the menu (€3.50). Maybe you should check the menu for accuracy before putting it on the tables. The wait for the food was almost an hour. The taste of the food was okay, but the side dishes were far too few. The prices are on the upper level. The cleanliness of the toilets and the tables was particularly positive.
