Augustiner am Dante in München

Excellent food served by very friendly service women. This restaurant is absolutely recommended.

The Augustiner am Dantebad is a typically traditional Bavarian inn, and also has a slightly smaller beer garden-style outdoor seating area. The food is hearty, home-style, and the menu offers a wide selection for every taste. The service and waitresses are warm and attentive, fitting the atmosphere—simply typically Bavarian, rustic, and cozy. The best place to find parking is on Dantestraße, which isn't always easy. I go there several times a year, and if you enjoy typical Bavarian inn tradition, then this is the place for you.

So the food is very tasty. I would like to highlight the very tasty warm Bavarian potato salad and the mega Kaiserschmarrn. Unfortunately we had very bad luck with our waiter. He didn't bring a children's menu, ok, not bad. We simply asked. Upon request, everything was available with a choice of fries. Children ordered food and drinks. Well, he probably had a bad day. The wrong drinks, ok that can happen, then the children came to eat and no fries. Although ordered with it. No problem, ask and get a succinct answer, as it says so on the children's menu. (I'm sorry that the children wanted these and were looking forward to them all day) We never got them. No matter ordered extra fries. Wishes we could have told the wall about our food were not taken into account. We just left it like that, he was either overwhelmed today or didn't care. Us too. After asking for the fourth time, we were allowed to order dessert, but of course it didn't come together. But each child received individually, parents and everyone else with sense knows what kind of war we had at the table. Ok, he can't know and he can't care. Funnily enough, it works elsewhere too. Doesn't matter. Dessert for the adults also came, but without plates and cutlery for 3 but for 1, although it was specifically mentioned and requested. We didn't ask anymore about the drinks we had ordered. But we looked at the bill to see if there were any bonuses. Luckily they didn't say no, otherwise I don't know if it would have turned out so well that evening. We had visitors from another city and the other family really wanted to stay in Augustiner. Because it was recommended to them. Well, rarely have we felt unwelcome. If the food hadn't been so delicious, we would have asked if she was serious. Well, I think we'll still go somewhere else the next time we visit Munich. Oh well, our children were all quiet, thanks to the tablet and the Lady Bug series. Sorry, we didn't want children crying and arguing in the restaurant in the evening.

What a shame! My 75th birthday was celebrated with many other guests I didn't know in the smallest, adjoining room. We were 15 guests, the other table had 14 guests. It was very, very loud! Neither group could have a conversation, just shouting at each other. Some guests left immediately after dinner. It had been agreed otherwise, even for the other group. It's a shame for both groups, the shouting. Does the Augustiner really need to charge as many guests as possible? What a shame, the birthday is over, and I'm sad and appalled by this treatment! It was supposed to be a beautiful and harmonious celebration that we'd all remember fondly and I'd gladly pay for. Luckily, I've never experienced anything like that. So, for me, this restaurant is over.

The food was delicious and the portions were large enough to fill you up even without a starter or dessert Unfortunately it gets a bit loud in the next room with two groups, but I think it's better in the restaurant itself. Service is friendly and food comes quickly

We had pancake soup and pretzel soup with beef broth and spices. ordered. Unfortunately the 'beef broth' was just thickened water and didn't taste like anything. The two waitresses only responded to the criticism with a nod. Well, I guess they don't need it or need to save 🤷🏼

Good place, the right beer, the classic after funerals

The restaurant has good cuisine and very friendly service. The service is quick and attentive. However, you shouldn't come to the restaurant hungry. I paid 19.90 euros for a schnitzel with pumpkin panade with fries and was really very disappointed how small this portion was! The customer should be full for this money but I think that was not the case. For this reason, I will no longer stop there. Price and performance should be right, no one should leave a restaurant hungry for the money they spent, right?

Everything worked well and fit so far!

Went to Augustiner am Dante for dinner and then breakfast. We made reservations online and everything worked out perfectly. The dishes were all very tasty, the portions were sufficient, only the soup was a joke. A small plate full for this price is not possible. Therefore 1 star deducted for the food. Food was ok servings on the smaller side. For the price I would recommend maybe Augustiner Spieglwirt better ambience better food quality and size with the same price. Overall was bit disappointing experience. The beer was great and is served in smaller sizes aswell.

The visit to the Augustiner am Dante was a complete success. Despite a packed house and numerous reservations for a TV broadcast, the team managed to organize a place for us straight away - that's what I call perfect service! The Bavarian cuisine was, as always, excellent. The dishes are not only authentic, but also incredibly delicious. The Augustiner Hell non-alcoholic was particularly impressive, as it tastes simply great and goes perfectly with a cozy evening. A big compliment to the entire team for their hospitality and the fast, courteous service. We would definitely like to come back!

What can I say about this location? Food 1 with an asterisk Service 1 with an asterisk Ambiance 1 with asterisks If you want to eat hearty and delicious food, you should visit this inn. Absolutely recommended.

A quaint Bavarian restaurant with a traditional menu.

The staff was very friendly, quick, attentive, present and open to requests for changes. That's why the star. As a main course I ordered the salad bowl with beetroot buffer for €16.90. A bowl came the size of a small side salad. Inside are a few barely dressed lettuce leaves, 2 slices of cucumber and 4 cherry tomato halves. Then a beetroot patty in two halves. Maybe ok for a small starter for €8.50, but an absolute disgrace for a main course at this price!! My husband is usually of the opinion that in a Bavarian restaurant you eat roast pork and nothing vegan. But the crust of his roast pork was limp, the portion was also very small and the taste was below average. Too bad! Because the restaurant is very cozy and since it is close to us, we have been going there every now and then for many years. But there is also the good Augustiner with a crisp roast pork elsewhere.

Food was very good, roast pork with dumplings and crust...a weekly dish! Nevertheless, the selection was large, I felt very comfortable, everything was beautifully decorated and decorated (December) The restaurant was busy and a bit noisy. The only drawback was that the waiter often forgot about us and the glasses remained empty for a long time…

After my obligatory visit to the cemetery, I like to go to the Augustiner am Dante. The food there is usually good to satisfactory. But unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not always right if the food is served carelessly, overcooked or fried. That shouldn't be the case, it's a shame. Because the atmosphere here is cozy. Because if I'm paying so much as a guest, I would also like to be lovingly served a correspondingly good meal, just as it used to be here.

Very loud, portions extremely clear, but also salty for Munich prices. For a Viennese schnitzel it can be around €30, but unfortunately you won't find great culinary art. In my opinion, one rests on the name Augustiner and the neighboring large Westfriedhof. Staff really friendly, but they can't be bothered anymore. No reason to come back.

Unfortunately we were a bit disappointed with the food yesterday. There were a total of four people and we invited our friends there to eat because we have always been satisfied. The portions were very clear and not commensurate with the price. At least it tasted very good. The service seemed very lackluster to us. As always at the Augustiner: well-kept beer, a very tasty roast pork and very friendly service. In particular, it's not as crowded here as in the city center, so you can have a good time. Always my pleasure!

I ate schnitzel and sausage. Water sausage? 😂🤣 I don't know the name, but it was delicious~ I tried schnitzel out of curiosity, but it just tasted like fried pork haha. It tastes like pork cutlet without seasoning? So I think it's a good idea to try it at least once when you're just curious. The beer was delicious too.

Neptune Bowl ...no mention of bowls. The chef should read up on what a bowl is. A subpar, medium-sized salad plate lacking any sophistication. Then a pike-perch fillet the size of your palm with a thimble (really!) of mango chutney. It tasted really good and was eaten straight away with a small spoon. Too overpriced at €19.90 + you don't get what is on the menu, but quickly. The waiter was nice + professional.

I can rate this restaurant as average at best. We were there yesterday and reserved a table inside. As soon as we arrived, we moved our seats outside because the smell of cooking was noticeable throughout the entire dining room. The food and drinks were ok so far, but when it got dark we went back to the dining room, especially since the first impression was that the smell of the kitchen was no longer noticeable; After a good 1 1/2 hours we left this restaurant and when we got home, all of our clothing smelled strongly of that kitchen smell. A prescribed, professional ventilation system cannot consist of allowing the kitchen smell that always occurs to escape into the dining room, especially since regular, thorough cleaning of the ventilation system in the restaurant kitchen is essential anyway. What a shame actually!

A maximum average restaurant. The staff is listless and seems annoyed, a smile was too much to ask for the entire duration of our stay. After looking at the menu, I wanted to order a Oktoberfest pretzel as a side dish, which was followed by the answer that it wasn't there and if it was, it certainly wasn't at the price stated on the menu (€3.50). Maybe you should check the menu for accuracy before putting it on the tables. The wait for the food was almost an hour. The taste of the food was okay, but the side dishes were far too few. The prices are on the upper level. The cleanliness of the toilets and the tables was particularly positive.

We had a Wienerschnitzel and a salad. Both tasted very good. Salad was fresh and the Wienerschnitzel was mostly crispy. The potatoes were very, very good. What struck us as somewhat unpleasant was the price of natural water at €6.90 for 0.75 liters. If this hadn't been the case, the fourth star would definitely have been given.

Schnitzel and beer! The first time I’ve tried Augustiner Alcohol free and I was blown away. An all free beer that tastes like real beer? Oh yeah! The schnitzel was very good too. A bit more sauce would be nice though.

Seit Jahren besuchen meine Frau und ich mindestens einmal pro Jahr das Dante. Ab jetzt nicht mehr. Mittwoch, den 12.06.2024 ist laut Menükarte ein Schweinebraten mit Knödel für 10,80€ von 11:00 - 14:00 Uhr zu bekommen; nicht schlecht, denk ich mir und will um ca. 13:15 Uhr bestellen. Der wirklich nette Ober antwortet: "Der Schweinebraten ist eben ausgegangen." Ohne zu fragen: "Wohin?", bestelle ich ein Schweineschnitzel Wiener Art mit Kartoffelsalat und Augustiner Hell und meine Frau ein paniertes Fischfilet mit Remoulade und Kartoffelsalat, sowie Johannisbeerschorle. Schorle und Helles waren gut, der Kartoffelsalat sehr wenig gewürzt und insgesamt zu wenig, das Schnitzel war vielleicht handtellergroß, der Fleischanteil 2, maximal 3 mm dick mit jeweils 1 mm Panade unten und oben. Der Fisch meiner Frau war sehr klein, aber gut frittiert. Nach dem Essen hatten wir beide noch Hunger. Für dieses kulinarische Erlebnis zahlten wir 46,30€. Der Augustiner am Dante sieht uns nie mehr. Das Preis - Leistungsverhältnis ist äußerst schlecht, zu kleine Portionen, völlig überteuert, scheinbar Lockangebote.

The two of us were there outside on a Wednesday afternoon. Among other things, we ordered an “Obatz`n”. In my life I have never met someone so abnormal and especially "Obatz`n" that was so carelessly served. I found this to be a complete disgrace towards guests. No idea what happened to the person who brought this dish out of the kitchen. The person should also be treated the same way if they go out to eat, provided they can afford it The complaint: Three hemispheres with a diameter of 4.5 cm and max. 4 cm high, peppered with each three saltlets The decoration: A wilted lettuce leaf from the day before yesterday and say and write half a cherry tomato with 1 cm diameter. This person who does this to his guests understands absolutely nothing. This economy is definitely not recommended and is doomed in my opinion. But to be fair, the service was the only good thing.

There were two of us and we ate several courses. The asparagus cream soup was fresh and delicious. The Bratenröschtl was very well seasoned. (More!) The crusty roast was on point. Buttery tender, juicy and still super crispy rind. The onion roast is a culinary delight! Rarely have I had such a perfectly prepared onion roast. The Kaiserschmarrn was fresh and melt-in-your-mouth. Are big fans of the new chef :)

Evening in a larger group. Unanimous opinion: Food was great, although it was commented several times that the portions were a bit “narrow”. (Hence 1 star deducted) I had the beer goulash with about 6 really large pieces of meat and a large bread dumpling. For me it was enough.

We have been going here for many years and are always satisfied. I also understand that the prices have increased, but then reducing the portions or leaving out side dishes completely is a bit outrageous. Paying more for less on your plate is no longer understandable.

I ordered a baked spleen sausage as a senior's plate, one spleen sausage instead of two with potato salad and gravy. Standard price 12.90 euros, I was charged 11.90 euros when paying, 10.90 euros for a spleen sausage and an additional 1 euro for the gravy. I've never experienced anything like this and I've actually been a guest in other Augustinian restaurants.

great atmosphere, (super) fast service, sufficiently large portions, unfortunately there was no red cabbage, the white cabbage served was a bit sour, always worth a visit.

We were here for our birthday and wanted to eat together as a family of five. Unfortunately, the waiter wasn't very professional and didn't give us time to arrive and choose. He was also very pushy and not nice when cleaning up. The food was quite good - just average Bavarian food. Overall the visit was okay, but unfortunately I don't think we'll be back.

Sehr nette und zuverlässige Bedienung. Wir kommen seit vielen Jahren und waren immer zufrieden, das letzte mal am 11. Jan. 2024. Bei unserem heutigen Besuch, 05.03.24 mit 8 Personen haben wir durchwegs schlechte Erfahrung gemacht. Die Pfannkuchensuppe schmeckte wie warmes Wasser, Krustenbraten sehr dünne und fade Soße, Fleisch sehr fett, Krautsalat ohne Geschmack, Kartoffelknödel wässrig, Kruste ok. Gebackener Fisch war gefroren, Kartoffelsalat aus dem Eimer. Rahmgeschnetzeltes ging so einigermaßen, Kaiserschmarren und Apfelkücherl waren sehr gut.
