Côdô in Dresden

We had reserved (!) and were asked to pay after staying for ONE hour because the next guests would be waiting. This was NEVER communicated when making the reservation and upon arrival at the restaurant! Impudence!

We were delayed by less than 15 minutes due to a traffic jam on our long journey, the reserved table was given away and of course nothing else was available. The new guests were already sitting comfortably at their seats, so they arrived at the restaurant at least 5 minutes in advance. That doesn't work at all. When making an online reservation, you had to leave your cell phone number and email address. You can call before you reassign the table (after 10 minutes!)

Very tasty sushi. Delivery always on time and always very nice drivers. The food was always nice and warm. I will continue to order from you. Thank you :-)

I believe the dish is delicious to Germans. Rarely does any restaurant have to wait in line for a seat like that. The owner was very smart to set up a Germanized and successful Vietnamese restaurant in Dresden. However, I do not recommend Vietnamese people go to this restaurant. I think the shop owner is not Vietnamese at all. No greetings, no Vietnamese smiles and no Vietnamese spoken (even though perhaps 80% of the staff were Vietnamese). Cold and harsh towards my family of 4 (German restaurant is not that cold), but the waiter is quite open with German customers. The dishes are skillfully prepared and abundant. All the ingredients of the bun cha bowl are in one bowl, including the broth, but the grilled pork of the bun cha is not and the broth is bland. Don't expect to find Vietnamese flavors (at least 2 dishes of bun cha and spring roll) and Vietnamese warmth here. But I think German guests will like it. I deducted 1 star because of an unpleasant dinner.

I don't care about reviews but in this case I should have. Food was mediocre, dry and served carelessly. Not recommended was a failure. By the way, if you only want to give one star, the review cannot be posted.

We were guests this evening. Due to planning, we were there about an hour before our reservation, but we were still happy to be able to go to our table, even though the restaurant was very full. The selection on the menu is large, there is something for everyone here. For starters there were baked wontons and wakame salad. Both were really delicious and (very surprisingly given the price) a huge portion. The main courses also lived up to it. My only criticism: these came while we were still in the middle of the appetizer. At best, this needs to be timed better, as there wasn't much time difference. Nevertheless, overall a very successful evening with plenty of delicious food and see you next time!

The Codo in the old town, like the other restaurants in the chain, impresses with very good Asian food. I stopped here for lunch and was not disappointed with my dish from a culinary point of view! The dish was very tasty and fit seamlessly with my experiences from the other Codo restaurants. The ambience of the restaurant, located in Dresden's old town, is very modern and inviting. In general, for me it is one of the best Asian restaurants in Dresden's old town. Prices are appropriate for the location and the quality of the food. Finally, the reason for the point deduction: I understand that the dishes are used but especially in view of the high price level to serve such chipped plates - well...

Ordered an hour ago it said delivery takes a maximum of an hour, it now says it takes another half an hour at Lieferando. I called the store and got no answer. I can't recommend it, it's a cheek and it's also the last time I'll order from this store

We had lunch here during our visit to Dresden. Soups, starters, main courses, sushi... Everything was delicious. Also the homemade lemonade. Absolutely within the price range. The waitresses were quick and friendly. We would be happy to come here again if we are in Dresden again

Unfortunately, the food wasn't the best choice. We've eaten Vietnamese food many times, but this was like a takeaway in terms of taste, preparation and appearance. My friend had pasta with vegetables and duck, the whole thing was totally dry. From halfway through you just stuff the dry pasta without any sauce or dip. My meal of salmon was really disappointing. Fried to death, dry, crispy, what a shame about the food! If I had known that it wasn't fried or grilled as shown in the photo on the page, I wouldn't have chosen it. Plus just onions, sprouts, rice and a few pods. Here, too, I was only able to eat with limited enjoyment after half of it, as everything was very dry in combination. I also find the sweet chili sauce dip from the typical plastic bottles that you know from the Chinese snack bar to be inappropriate with the starters. There are such great creative sauces in Asia, why this one 🤔 The staff was friendly but stressed. Without a reservation, it's hard to get a seat before 5 p.m.

The Codo impresses with its cozy atmosphere and an extensive menu with many delicious specialties. The service was very friendly for us. We made a reservation online and were immediately shown to the seat and served without long waiting times. With a starter, two main courses and four drinks, we ended up with a fair 50 euros. We can recommend the Flying Noodles, as long as you don't feel embarrassed if the food is a little harder to consume. So it's better not to choose on a first date.. 😂

Unfortunately incredibly crowded. But the food was great, the waiters were very nice and overall it was a very good dine.

The food is not like it was before. Unfortunately I didn't like it this time. The drinks don't either, before the drinks were really good, but now it's just syrup and water.

Went there very hungry, ordered Bánh mì with marinated chicken. The photo says it all. It was just a dry baguette with tasteless chicken, a lot of carrot, and cucumber. Barely any sauce, not even from the meat, which was dry too. Service is unfriendly too. The atmosphere is fine but where is it not fine?

It's certainly a great shop. Only we had a bit of bad luck with the service and were forgotten. Well, it happened. Curry was intense in spiciness, so not for the weak palate. Otherwise delicious.

I don't understand the glowing reviews, the food is mediocre and just okay. What I have never experienced in over 30 years of visiting restaurants: They wanted to charge me an extra euro for more spiciness - i.e. chili. This is not appropriate customer service. Unfortunately, no recommendation and in Dresden you can eat better elsewhere - both in terms of the quality of the food and the service. The atmosphere is modern and hip, but everything could be a little cleaner.

The place is very quiet and the food is very delicious. Very generous dishes and their service is fast.

It's really worth a visit. We can only recommend that the food is delicious, rich and at a great price compared to other restaurants. And with the great weather you could also sit outside.

I very rarely leave comments but the pho I had was extremely bad. The meat was of poor quality and apart from onions, noodles and coriander, there was nothing in the soup to make it taste delicious. Definitely not a recommendation.

Best Vietnamese restaurant in Dresden! Even though I no longer live in Dresden, it's a MUST to eat at Codo every time I'm there again. Everything is delicious, especially the sushi but also the other dishes are great. Never been disappointed. The ambience and furnishings are super nice and all the employees are always friendly and you get good service. 100% recommendation!

Were there around 8 p.m. and was well filled. From ordering to eating it only took 6 minutes. The food was very fresh and sufficient, price performance is good. We can recommend it!

Very nice atmosphere, you can eat outside or inside. The food is also incredibly beautifully prepared. If you want to eat hot pot you have to order in advance!!! We waited a really long time for the food, even though we ordered in advance and when we wanted to pay, no one came after 20 minutes. But the service was nice. Otherwise really good food.

If you’re tried of German pub food or just don’t like it, then definitely try Codo. Also this is one of very few places in Old town, where you can find chicken. Despite place was so full, we got our food very quickly!

Ich bin öfter in Dresden und war meist auch im Codo etwas essen. Die Qualität der Speisen war anfänglich noch sehr gut. Leider hat diese extrem nachgelassen. Beim letzten Mal hatte ich eine Bun mit Rindfleisch, wo das Fleisch sehr sehnig und durchwachsen war. Dieses Mal war die Sommerrolle sehr trocken und lieblos mit wenigen Zutaten zusammengestellt. Die vermutliche Fertigsoße dazu war sehr kräftig und hat das Gericht dominiert. Diese Kombi kenne ich so aus anderen Restaurants nicht. Das Sushi war genauso lieblos erstellt, egal ob Nigiri oder Rainbow Role. Der Fisch war trocken und von minderer Qualität. Thunfisch und Lachs sahen nicht mehr frisch aus. Der Service war okay, aber auch schon mal besser.

The view of the Zwinger from the terrace creates the basis for an atmosphere that is crowned by delicious food. Excellent Asian food from soup to wok to sushi - in my opinion also freshly prepared. The dessert with sesame balls in coconut soup is particularly recommended.

Had dinner there again for a long time today. And I completely forgot to leave a review back then. The food was great and the service was great too, of course. Of course, sushi is also amazing and not only looks good but also tastes great. Can only be recommended. :)

The food was dripping with fat, full of glutamate and tasteless. But it came very quickly, maybe only took 5 minutes. Unfortunately, the quality was corresponding. The food was presented carelessly. The service was hardly noticeable.

Despite making a reservation in advance, there is no table available and you are asked to wait. A reservation basically means something different...

We were there on August 8th. to 1o People in the restaurant. There are no complaints about the food. So far everything is ok. What bothered us, however, was that the service brought everything to the table quickly after the first order. But that was it. We often had to ask when we could order and get something to drink again. Simply ask more often whether the guests would like to drink or order something else... And keep an eye on the toilets. This is the image for the kitchen.

Nice atmosphere and delicious food, although the dessert menu could be expanded. The service leaves a lot to be desired. You literally have to call waiters over and spot them in good time because they walk past you or do their thing. Not once was we asked if everything was ok or if we needed anything else. We had to call a waiter for each process, i.e. to order, to order the desserts, to clear the dishes and for the bill. The empty dishes were sometimes left standing for 20 minutes without being cleared away on their own. All in all a good restaurant but you should really work on the competence of the employees. After all, we are in a restaurant and not a fast food joint.

Unfortunately for me not a second time - seating distribution was catastrophic. When you're finally seated, you feel like you're sitting in the counter hall - pure canteen flair. Mass processing. Eating is therefore really quick - you want more class... instead of just quantity.

Had vegetarian and salmon sushi, very tasty and beautifully presented. As drinks, homemade lemonade, one good (passion fruit), one not so much (peach). Very friendly staff, food came very quickly, despite the store being almost fully booked. Overall we felt very comfortable.

Hello, we ate at Codo for the first time and we thought it was fantastic. It was so good that we didn't try anything else in Dresden and ate there two evenings in a row and everything we ate was really very good. The service was very nice and the price performance ratio is really good. Unfortunately, we discovered that this chain only exists in Dresden, so if you're ever in Dresden you should have eaten here!!!

The food is very tasty, whether sushi or other dishes. The service is generally great, the guys are very nice. It was just a challenge to get a new drink because no one came to us and saw that a glass was empty. There's just a lot going on. We recommend ordering especially on weekends. It's not possible to eat outside when it's raining and it's very loud inside. The room is very poorly soundproofed or absorbent, which makes staying there stressful at times. Otherwise great.

The food was dry and the noodles under all criticism. Tasted like a bad home cooked dish and no one in the party could bring themselves to eat the food. The curry was disgustingly sweet and tasted more like sugar than food. The other chicken stew had a curry that was slimy and geléig, not good at all.

Delicious food, great ambience, but reservations are definitely recommended. Otherwise you can expect some waiting time.

Nicely located place, unfortunately the food is bland and boring. Dry and uninspired tastes. I’ve been spoiled by the fantastic Vietnamese food in Berlin, unfortunately Dresden doesn’t deliver. Shame on me for choosing to eat in an Old Town - mistake I always regret making.

I ate there twice and was really impressed. Slightly Germanized dish but super tasty. One day I had a dish from the menu and the next day I had 2 hot pots with 4 colleagues. It was an experience worth repeating. Card payment possible. Price performance more than great. Service was consistent. I'll be back.

Were here for the first time. Very tasty food and friendly staff. Best sushi I've ever eaten.

In my opinion, there is the best sushi in all of Dresden here. Nigiri and maki are always filled with plenty of toppings/filling. I've ordered sushi in many other restaurants, but none come close to the portion sizes of Codo Postplatz. In contrast to most other sushi providers, they don't skimp on fish here. The taste is always at least good, but often very good. Even after numerous orders, there were never any serious problems with the quality. The restaurant is represented on Lieferando, Uber Eats and Wolt. I always like to order from Codo, especially from Codo Postplatz.

The drivers who deliver the food are a disaster. The car and moped drivers cut across the busy footpath on Wilsdruffer Straße when traffic was at a standstill and when asked about their misconduct they were not aware of any guilt.
