Côdô in Dresden

Very tasty, large selection with a view of the Zwinger. Whether sushi, curry or bowl we were very satisfied. Great value for lunch too.

Very good and tasty Asian restaurant. In my opinion, better than the original (at least it was first in Dresden) in the Neustadt. Delicious food, friendly and quick staff.

The Codo used to be really good, but has now deteriorated considerably. The service is underground. We ordered a starter and main course. Less than 5 minutes after the starter was served, the main course was crashed onto the table, which was much too small for it. You get the feeling of mass processing. In addition, despite the empty glasses, no one even asked if we would like another drink. The food itself tasted okay, nothing special. The toilets and the coffee machine at the bar were dirty. We won't be coming back again.

The food was very tasty, appropriately seasoned and arrived quickly after ordering. The portions are large. The staff was very eager and friendly, and the price-performance ratio was appropriate for us considering the large portions.

A waitress never showed up to provide any service. When we finally paid she refused to give us change and said she thought it was a tip.

Unfortunately, the Codo has deteriorated significantly when it comes to the quality of the food. I've now tested several dishes on several visits, and it's consistent: udon noodles with vegetables taste completely burnt (you can even see black traces on the vegetables), curry is tasteless, banh mi lacks the delicious sauces and crispy salad that used to be on it, instead there are now two slices of cucumber and boiled (!) carrot. The delicious sweet potato fries have been taken off the menu, and the normal fries taste worse than average oven fries. The Codo used to be a very nice bistro in the new town with solid food - the expansion has done a lot of damage to it, and food of this poor quality (burned!) should not be offered - and especially not at this price.

Good restaurant with a very good location, but I don't think it's often the case that the wrong thing or nothing at all is served, for example when it comes to drinks. Still delicious sushi 🍣👍🏻

You must wait until you are invited to a free table. Mothers with small children are busy with their own things and children are busy with their own 😂 Screaming, noise, shouting🤯

A must visit, large selection from beef and duck to sushi and sashimi to vegetarian and vegan. All the dishes I tried were very tasty.

Worth a recommendation without question. The one star deduction for the fact that we were asked to pay after dinner and after 2 hours because our table was only reserved until 8 p.m. What we didn't know was that it wasn't that nice, especially since it was a family celebration.

The portions are generous and the food is always delicious. The service could be better, but the value is good.

Very good food, highly recommended. Filling. The only downside was the summer roll. While not bad, it had too many noodles. I highly recommend the Ga Chien and the baked dim sum.

We come here to eat every year when we visit Dresden. We are highly satisfied every time, the food is super tasty, the service is very accommodating and super friendly and a great price/performance ratio. You never have to wait long for food.

Great restaurant with good cuisine and friendly staff. However, I would have liked vegetarian and vegan dishes to have been better marked on the menu. We'll still come back 😊👍🏻

Food-wise, this is one of my favorite restaurants (and the best Asian restaurant) in all of Dresden. You can also order meat as a vegetarian option relatively easily. Unfortunately, the service, especially after the food arrives, is sometimes a bit slow and not very attentive. Also, the interior can be quite cramped at times. But the incredibly delicious food makes up for that.

The sushi was very tasty. I love tempura rolls with salmon and these were particularly great here. The portion for around €14 consisted of 10 huge rolls - mega! The toilets were clean, there was a changing table and an accessible toilet.

It was an incredible experience. We arrived to Dresden and immediately started searching for lunch place. Found this and didn't doubt about going there. Food and staff were both amazing, even tho it wasn't the cheapest place where we ate the food during the trip. Wonderful cuisine and atmosphere

Friendly and attentive staff. The food was delicious, with large portions at fair prices. There is a wide variety of food such as sushi, rice dishes, noodle dishes and pho. The drinks are also super tasty. The restaurant is located right in the old town, close to attractions.

Amazing and huge portion size for one person. I had coconut curry with rice with crispy tofus. The food was fresh, the tofu was soft inside and crispy outside. Vietnamese coffee is also great!

Although I think the food and prices are good, I would like to see a little more choice on the menu. The soup was extremely tasty 🍲

It was tasty, the service wasn't super friendly but it was OK. The sushi wasn't that tasty here and there - because of the fatty sauces on it, I didn't like it and it didn't taste good either. If you like it, this is absolutely the right place for you.

We had green curry, very good. Ambience OK, service a bit slow but friendly, we got the tickets ourselves.

Unfortunately the Aperol was a disappointment - completely tasteless, almost like water. The sushi and duck, on the other hand, were delicious. The service was okay, but the waitress seemed a bit irritated. Overall mixed experiences.

It is always hit and miss. I order to take away quite often, mostly around lunch. Sometimes the sushi is to die for and sometimes flavourless and badly constructed. I wish I knew who is staffing the kitchen when and when it’s a good time to order!

Côdô is still one of the Asians in Dresden, which are top value for money! The food is very good, you get reasonable portions for your money. The lemonades are homemade and very fresh. The staff is also super friendly!

Ordered online. More than 15 minutes waiting time on site after the stated pickup time. The employees who were asked about the pickup simply referred other employees. The food we ordered was ready to be picked up for the entire waiting time.

The food tasted good. The price-performance ratio is okay. I found the space a bit cramped. Reservations are a must, otherwise you won't get a seat at peak times. Staff is friendly. It's also quick. Would go again.

Pho was disappointing. Personally for me there was little to no flavor in the broth. My wife said the same thing despite her having a more sensitive palette. Seemed like they just filled the bowl with water instead of an actual pho broth. The appetizer with the fried assortment of finger foods was good however. Portions are large which is nice.

A Vietnamese eatery in the very center of Dresden. Very large portions. Prices - normal. Expect around 15-20 euros per person.

Sushi was great with !, fried vegetable rice with chicken was very dry and almost inedible. Was the first and last time. It's a shame, our children are regular guests here, unfortunately we are not.

Despite a large group (9), we quickly got a table even though the restaurant was completely full. The food came relatively quickly and the service was nice and attentive. The ambience is simple and beautiful. After we could hardly make up our minds about the fantastic offers, the food arrived and it was a dream.

Not so good for eating sushi… unfortunately it fell apart. The salmon was also a bit dry, but the noodle and rice dishes are great. The waiters are super nice too :)

We ate 5t and all 4 dishes were sensational in terms of taste, quality and presentation. Service was attentive, asked questions and cleared away discreetly. Great experience…recommendation!

The Codo in Dresden is an absolute highlight for lovers of Vietnamese cuisine! The dishes are authentic, fresh and incredibly delicious. I can only recommend the baked platter (No. 28) as a starter. Here you get a great selection of different Vietnamese specialties, all of which are very tasty. Another highlight is the crispy duck with vegetables in hoisin garlic sauce (No. 89). The duck is fried to perfection and the sauce is to die for. If you like sushi, you should definitely try the salmon and avocado roll. The fish is of excellent quality and the combination with the creamy avocado is simply unbeatable. The Codo not only impresses with its food, but also with its friendly service and cozy atmosphere. You simply feel at home here and can enjoy Vietnamese cuisine to the fullest. Conclusion: Codo is an absolute must for anyone who loves Vietnamese cuisine. Whether starters, crispy duck or sushi - everyone will find what they are looking for here.

Friendly staff. The meat in my Pho soup was inferior with gristle and fat and didn't taste convincing either. The summer rolls with tofu were good and tasty.

Very friendly service, we got a table spontaneously, although it's better to reserve. The food was very good and really plentiful. The prices are ok for the good quality you get. Always my pleasure!

Our lunch at Codo was average overall. The dish was simple in taste, but the portion was generous and very filling due to the carbohydrate side dish. Unfortunately, the vegetables were rather rare, which gave the impression that the restaurant was focused on optimizing profits. There are definitely better Vietnamese restaurants that we would prefer.

Delivery times of almost 2 hours for cold food within a 3km radius Tried it twice - unfortunately never again. Either excessive demands or poor planning. Unfortunately I can only advise against ordering here. The food would certainly be delicious if it didn't arrive cold and completely late. Unfortunately absolutely NOT recommended.

Although the restaurant was completely full and new people were constantly coming in, the gentleman at reception was incredibly friendly, helpful, confident and relaxed. The food was really tasty, very tasty and fresh. By far the best of all the restaurants I tried in Dresden. Without a reservation it is really difficult to get a place. (Attention: I thought the restaurant with the same name in Dresden Neustadt was really bad.)

Nice atmosphere with delicious food at fair prices. Were there for the 3rd time and were very satisfied… can only recommend it!!! A little tip for the staff: If there is a reservation, the table should also be reserved and we find it a bit inappropriate to immediately ask how long you plan to stay. Just a tip as it has happened repeatedly....😉 otherwise thumbs up keep it up

the noodles were a bit tasteless and had a boring texture. The broth itself was quite tasty and the meat had some flavor. It was ok.

What a great place it is! Absolutely adored it! Maki sushi were delicious. It was the first time i tried ones with mango and well, they were fantastic. I'm not a sushi expert, so i don't know how accurate these actually were, but what does it matter if they tasted splendid, yeah? Furthermore, vietnam coffee was to my convoy's liking. Overall, a nice place with great location

We were there for dinner on New Year's Eve! Food came on a plate for the three of us even though we hadn't ordered it that way (everyone wanted their food on a separate plate)! But the crowning glory were the toilets, they were totally filthy and there was paper everywhere. I've never seen anything like that before. I was disappointed across the board, not recommended!

Wir sind Dresdner und waren schon sehr oft zu Gast im Codo und meist zufrieden. Aus diesem Grunde hatten wir uns entschieden, an Silvester dieses Jahres dort zu Abend zu essen. Wir haben mehrere Wochen im Voraus bestellt. Als wir ankamen wurden wir von einem recht mürrischen Kellner begrüßt, welcher uns als erstes fragte, wie lange wir bleiben möchten. Wir sagten, dass wir das nicht genau sagen können, da es ja auch von der Dauer der Bestellung und der Wartezeit auf die Speisen abhängt. Er schlug uns 2 Stunden vor, damit waren wir einverstanden. Wir haben durchaus Verständnis, dass an so einem Tag auch mehrere Durchgänge geplant werden. Kaum hatten wir gesessen, wurden wir schon gebeten, unsere Bestellung aufzugeben. Wir mussten 2 x um Aufschub bitten, da wir die Karte doch durchlesen wollten. Schließlich bestellten wir Vorsuppe und Hauptspeisen. Die Suppen kamen sehr schnell. Wir hatten noch nicht lange begonnen, die sehr heißen Suppen zu essen, standen die Kellner mit den Hauptspeisen am Tisch. Unsere Bitte, uns doch erst die Suppen essen zu lassen, wurde ignoriert, die Teller wurden auf dem Tisch platziert. Die Qualität der Speisen ließ auch zu wünschen übrig. Wem Quantität über Qualität geht, derjenige wäre zufrieden gewesen. Alles in allem waren wir dann nach einer knappen Stunde (unfreiwillig) fertig und haben uns ziemlich geärgert. Aus dem erhofften gemütlichen Abend wurde ein gehetztes Abendessen. Am Ende erließ man uns 5 Prozent des Preises, das wog aber das entgangene Erlebnis nicht auf.

We were delayed by less than 15 minutes due to a traffic jam on our long journey, the reserved table was given away and of course nothing else was available. The new guests were already sitting comfortably at their seats, so they arrived at the restaurant at least 5 minutes in advance. That doesn't work at all. When making an online reservation, you had to leave your cell phone number and email address. You can call before you reassign the table (after 10 minutes!)

I believe the dish is delicious to Germans. Rarely does any restaurant have to wait in line for a seat like that. The owner was very smart to set up a Germanized and successful Vietnamese restaurant in Dresden. However, I do not recommend Vietnamese people go to this restaurant. I think the shop owner is not Vietnamese at all. No greetings, no Vietnamese smiles and no Vietnamese spoken (even though perhaps 80% of the staff were Vietnamese). Cold and harsh towards my family of 4 (German restaurant is not that cold), but the waiter is quite open with German customers. The dishes are skillfully prepared and abundant. All the ingredients of the bun cha bowl are in one bowl, including the broth, but the grilled pork of the bun cha is not and the broth is bland. Don't expect to find Vietnamese flavors (at least two dishes like bun cha and spring roll) and Vietnamese warmth here. But I think German guests will like it. I deducted 1 star because of an unpleasant dinner.

We had reserved (!) and were asked to pay after staying for ONE hour because the next guests would be waiting. This was NEVER communicated when making the reservation and upon arrival at the restaurant! Impudence!

I don't care about reviews but in this case I should have. Food was mediocre, dry and served carelessly. Not recommended was a failure. By the way, if you only want to give one star, the review cannot be posted.

We were guests this evening. Due to planning, we were there about an hour before our reservation, but we were still happy to be able to go to our table, even though the restaurant was very full. The selection on the menu is large, there is something for everyone here. For starters there were baked wontons and wakame salad. Both were really delicious and (very surprisingly given the price) a huge portion. The main courses also lived up to it. My only criticism: these came while we were still in the middle of the appetizer. At best, this needs to be timed better, as there wasn't much time difference. Nevertheless, overall a very successful evening with plenty of delicious food and see you next time!

The Codo in the old town, like the other restaurants in the chain, impresses with very good Asian food. I stopped here for lunch and was not disappointed with my dish from a culinary point of view! The dish was very tasty and fit seamlessly with my experiences from the other Codo restaurants. The ambience of the restaurant, located in Dresden's old town, is very modern and inviting. In general, for me it is one of the best Asian restaurants in Dresden's old town. Prices are appropriate for the location and the quality of the food. Finally, the reason for the point deduction: I understand that the dishes are used but especially in view of the high price level to serve such chipped plates - well...

Ordered an hour ago it said delivery takes a maximum of an hour, it now says it takes another half an hour at Lieferando. I called the store and got no answer. I can't recommend it, it's a cheek and it's also the last time I'll order from this store

We had lunch here during our visit to Dresden. Soups, starters, main courses, sushi... Everything was delicious. Also the homemade lemonade. Absolutely within the price range. The waitresses were quick and friendly. We would be happy to come here again if we are in Dresden again

Unfortunately, the food wasn't the best choice. We've eaten Vietnamese food many times, but this was like a takeaway in terms of taste, preparation and appearance. My friend had pasta with vegetables and duck, the whole thing was totally dry. From halfway through you just stuff the dry pasta without any sauce or dip. My meal of salmon was really disappointing. Fried to death, dry, crispy, what a shame about the food! If I had known that it wasn't fried or grilled as shown in the photo on the page, I wouldn't have chosen it. Plus just onions, sprouts, rice and a few pods. Here, too, I was only able to eat with limited enjoyment after half of it, as everything was very dry in combination. I also find the sweet chili sauce dip from the typical plastic bottles that you know from the Chinese snack bar to be inappropriate with the starters. There are such great creative sauces in Asia, why this one 🤔 The staff was friendly but stressed. Without a reservation, it's hard to get a seat before 5 p.m.

The Codo impresses with its cozy atmosphere and an extensive menu with many delicious specialties. The service was very friendly for us. We made a reservation online and were immediately shown to the seat and served without long waiting times. With a starter, two main courses and four drinks, we ended up with a fair 50 euros. We can recommend the Flying Noodles, as long as you don't feel embarrassed if the food is a little harder to consume. So it's better not to choose on a first date.. 😂

The food is not like it was before. Unfortunately I didn't like it this time. The drinks don't either, before the drinks were really good, but now it's just syrup and water.

Went there very hungry, ordered Bánh mì with marinated chicken. The photo says it all. It was just a dry baguette with tasteless chicken, a lot of carrot, and cucumber. Barely any sauce, not even from the meat, which was dry too. Service is unfriendly too. The atmosphere is fine but where is it not fine?

It's certainly a great shop. Only we had a bit of bad luck with the service and were forgotten. Well, it happened. Curry was intense in spiciness, so not for the weak palate. Otherwise delicious.
