Codo in Dresden

This was our first time at this location. Luckily, we had booked in advance, as is typical for the Neustadt district, the restaurants and pubs are quite busy on Saturday evenings. The table for two was nice enough, but unfortunately, there was a constant draft coming in from the door, and our feet were freezing. The door doesn't close properly, and the curtain could have been longer. It got quite cold in the hallway after a while. The food was quite good and nicely presented. We had freshly prepared sushi as our main course. The edamame appetizer was very firm; they could have been a bit softer, but tastes vary. The service was friendly, but they didn't make eye contact while we were taking our order. The dessert was delicious (unfortunately, no photo), but three small pieces of fried banana and a mochi (halved) for €7.90 was a bit steep. We will definitely come back, though, because everything else was great. Except for the women's restroom—it really needs to be cleaned more often!

This vietnamese restaurant serves a variety of asian food. The sushi and sashimi are quiet authentic, the fish is fresh and excellent.

A huge thank you to the gentleman at CôDo Schauburg Dresden: He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and warm. Upon arrival, you're greeted with a genuine smile and immediately feel welcome. His calm, professional manner makes you feel completely at ease. Combined with the delicious food, this makes the visit a truly wonderful experience.

We've been going to Codo for many years and always enjoyed it. We know the location on Brüderstraße and the one across from the Schauburg cinema. Today we went to the Schauburg location. It wasn't very busy, and the food arrived relatively quickly, but was significantly delayed, so some people were almost finished while others still hadn't eaten. On top of that, the waiter wasn't friendly and gave the impression that every word was one too many. The food was okay, but not as good as it used to be. Reading the other comments here, it seems we're not alone in our experience. It's a shame, because we always enjoyed going there; now we'll have to find another Vietnamese restaurant. The final straw was when I paid, I was told three times that no tip had been left. I then had to very clearly state that I deliberately didn't want to leave a tip that day. The server then stood persistently at the table and practically forced me to leave a tip. I've never experienced anything like it.

The food was absolutely delicious. Service was quick and the drinks/food arrived promptly. Excellent value for money!

I've been going to Codo for many years. However, today I found the service and the food so bad that it will be the last time for me and my family. First, the wrong drinks were delivered, and the server offered no way to change this. They claimed the incorrect drinks weren't supposed to appear on the bill, but we were charged for them in full. Second, the food arrived so late that we had already finished eating by the time the last dish arrived. Third, my daughters are now sitting over the bowl. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this place.

We ordered peanut curry with tofu and realized at home that it contained chicken. It was practically empty, so it couldn't have been due to stress. The food is now going in the trash – what a shame.

I know your restaurant from Brüdergasse and was always delighted with the service and food there. My tea cup wasn't quite full, and half of it spilled onto the saucer on its way from the kitchen to my table. I ordered tea with kumquats and received a tiny piece of orange (1!), a tiny mint leaf, and three-quarters of a strip of ginger for almost €4??? Seriously??? The porcelain was chipped. The food was blandly seasoned. During my visit, the staff repeatedly turned the music up to an unbearable volume, blasting Whitney Houston and Celine Dion right in my face.

Fair prices, great food and a good atmosphere!

Absolutely disappointing. Even the menu was misleading: dishes were labeled as gluten-free when in fact they weren't. We almost ordered the wrong thing, which could have been quite dangerous. When we asked about it, the waitress showed no expertise, was rude and unprofessional, almost as if asking for more information would be a nuisance. On top of that, we had to wait forever for our food! The food itself was also poorly prepared and lacking in flavor—unfortunately, not recommended in any way.

We had dinner at côdô, and I'm honestly quite shocked. The menu specifically states that there are gluten-free options, but the staff had absolutely no idea. We almost ordered a dish with gluten because the waiter said it was "naturally gluten-free." Only when we asked did we find out that it wasn't. This is really dangerous for people with intolerances or even celiac disease. Instead of really helping us, the waiter was rude and not at all helpful. If you're going to advertise allergens, you should at least know what you're talking about. And the food itself was no consolation: bland, hardly any flavor, and really weak for Vietnamese cuisine. We had hoped for much more, but you really don't want to put yourself through that again. Definitely not a restaurant I would recommend. A definite letdown for us—and certainly not a second visit.

Wonderful decor, good, affordable, and delicious food. The service was friendly, but could be a bit more responsive. The sushi has a lot of salmon, or rather, a lot of filling, and isn't mostly rice. That's great! You can even pay with American Express. I would come again!

I ordered and paid for sushi three times and only received two. Unfortunately, I realized this too late and didn't bring a receipt.

Codo is known throughout Dresden because of its long history. The menu is consistent but varied. You can sit inside or outside. Even when it's very busy, you'll receive prompt and friendly service, and the food still arrives quickly. I highly recommend Codo.

The dishes were poorly prepared, the rice noodles were a mess, and the Bun Nem takeaway didn't come with any sauce.

The food was really tasty, including the non-alcoholic cocktails. Unfortunately the service wasn't that great. Hardly a smile and we were left stranded for a long time. We then had to go to the counter to order drinks and pay, but unfortunately the waitress didn't come to our table.

So we've been there three times now... unfortunately the last visit wasn't as nice. What was due to the service... they seemed listless or annoyed But as usual, the food was great.

I'm thrilled. The food is really excellent...a delight. The homemade lemonade was excellent. Service was all super nice. Really worth it. I'm not a fan of sushi, but what was served...looked really tasty!!

Service ist hier fehl am Platz, haben 20 Minuten gewartet, bis endlich der Keller kam, um die Bestellung aufzugeben. Wir waren die einzigen Gäste. Essen eine Zumutung, war auf keinen Fall frisch zubereitet, geschmacklich schlecht. Das Codo am Albertplatz kann ich bestens empfehlen, dort passt alles. Vom Essen, Service und der Gast fühlt sich wohl dort

So we went there for lunch today, Codo opposite the Schaumburg, Koenigsbruecker Str. Not recommended. You sit there, are ignored, service is bad, food seemed like it was warmed up and not fresh, just bad! We experienced the complete opposite at Codo on Albertplatz, everything was great, the food was delicious, the service was great. So just go to Codo on Albertplatz and you won't get any nasty surprises.

Food is good, but has been better before. Service is good, but nothing special. The space is used very effectively. So something for quick hunger and smaller wallets.

A nice atmosphere. We have ordered takeaway several times and this was the first time we ate there. It was very crowded, but the food came surprisingly quickly. There's nothing fundamentally wrong with the food, but there's always a little too much sauce for my taste, or the sauce is too watery. On our last visit, there were also significantly too many vegetables in two dishes, compared to the total portion. The staff is very nice. All in all, definitely a recommendation for Asian food in Dresden Neustadt.

Despite the fact that it was very full and the two free tables were marked with a reserved sign, the friendly waiter invited us in. The four of us were able to order straight away. The menu consists of Asian dishes, some of which are vegetarian. Everyone can find the food that suits them. The taste, freshness and quality are right. We had to wait a bit but this was due to the many other guests. The service is attentive and friendly. We will visit again...

⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ Always delicious! I've been eating lunch or taking something to go here regularly for years. The food is always fresh and tasty. A small downer: Unfortunately, in winter it is often cold in the restaurant, which spoils the experience somewhat. In addition, card payments are only available from €10, which can be a bit inconvenient for smaller orders. Nevertheless, it remains my favorite place for a quick and tasty meal!

There were two of us and we got a place straight away. The ambience in the room is very nice, even if you wouldn't expect it from the outside. The staff is polite and attentive. The kimshi is truly a delicacy and the spring rolls and soups are fresh and delicious. But the sushi surpassed everything. Super tasty. We'd love to come back.

We were disappointed. Ordered summer rolls with lemongrass tofu. But the summer rolls contained almost no herbs (e.g. mint, coriander, basil...). The lemongrass tofu didn't taste like lemongrass either, the mango it contained was unripe and tasteless. And unfortunately there was only 1 tablespoon of sauce instead of a bowl. It's a shame and quite disappointing! You're probably making savings in the wrong place. I would have preferred to pay a little more and have a delicious meal in return.

The Codo is a nice restaurant with good food. You should make a reservation for the evening. The reservation via the website is active and you receive a confirmation, but the staff on site has no knowledge of it and points out the telephone number.

We were guests for lunch. Selection of food and drinks very good. The staff was always friendly and attentive. The prices are really fun 😃 😃 😃 The one star deduction is for the quite small toilet. You shouldn't be too fat. You should travel by public transport as the parking situation is poor.

The food was really bad I went with my group no one was satisfied the rice was dry in taste it didn't say much. It seems like they are not experienced and just serve you the service without a smile and a good mood I wouldn't go again bad food! only good thing was that the prices were low

The rice is undercooked, the sushi just breaks apart, so are other meals. One should eat noodles here since it is delicious.

Very unpleasant smell of frying in the entire restaurant, which completely settles on the clothes and everything else. Small portions, we were missing some ingredients. Long wait for food. Too bad. Very dingy toilets. More of a snack bar.

Côdô is always a great choice! Both suhsi and curry were very tasty.

Best Vietnamese cuisine in Dresden!

Unfortunately, the food wasn't what we would have liked. Not seasoned, too greasy. The waiter doesn't come to the table after handing out the food.

Absolutely not recommended, waiting time for the drinks was 20 minutes, sushi was dry and fell apart immediately. We had to wait 45 minutes for the main course with the sobering result that it tasted like run-of-the-mill curry. The service team is not well-coordinated and acts as if it were in slow motion. (shuffling waiter says it all) The walls are covered in food splatters and give a dingy impression. No comparison to the Codo branch on Albertplatz/Alaunstr. There are worlds apart!

We ordered something to pick up here and the curry dishes were very tasty and fresh.

A cozy restaurant if you want to try something different. Large selection of dishes, including vegetarian dishes. The food didn't take long to prepare and everything was delicious. Staff very accommodating, I can recommend it with a clear conscience.

In groups larger than 10 people it will be tight because the location on Königsbrücker Straße is small. The service was okay, only the waiting time from ordering drinks (10 minutes) and food (30-40 minutes) to being served was long. There are no car parking spaces directly in front of it, so you have to look for a space on a side street. Price and quality match.

Preparing the order took forever because the counter staff were poorly coordinated and didn't pass the order slip to the sushi maker or he simply overlooked it.

The food tastes great and the prices are also reasonable. However, in some dishes like 87, in my opinion there is not enough rice for the whole dish. House lemonade is recommended.

Wir wollten nach einer Stadtbesichtigung eigentlich nur etwas erfrischendes trinken und sind hier gelandet. Zum Glück. Spontanes Mittagessen der Extraklasse. Tolle Auswahl... nettes Personal...wunderschön gergerichtet und einfach nur lecker. Preislich super in Ordnung. Besuch lohnt auf jeden Fall!

When visiting Dresden Neustadt you should definitely eat at Côdô. The menu is varied and not too big. The food is freshly and deliciously prepared and comes to the table quickly. The prices are very affordable for the high quality. Always worth a visit.

Very good food. Sushi comes in many varieties and Vietnamese cuisine is at least as delicious as it looks. That's 5 for food. It would be nice if all guests at the table could receive their food at approximately the same time. Otherwise we would like to come back.

We were quite disappointed in our experience here sadly. We ordered between others the vegetarian curry and a Nudel dish with „ginger“ and „tomatoes“. The curry was extremely salty and the Nudel dish was not tasting ginger at all and the sauce was very weird in consistence and with zero taste. My friend could not eat it. We also ordered some other food that took a lot of time to arrive. Maybe there are some other dishes that are better than the ones we got! Service was good though!

I had my first Ban Mi and lived it. The pho was great, and my girlfriend got some veggie tempura rolls that were amazing. I can't recommend it enough.

Leider hat dieses CODO-Restaurant keine Burger auf der Speisekarte(welche sind in online Menu), was uns bei unserer Ankunft etwas überrascht hat. Die Suppe mit Hühnchen, Zitronengras und Kokosmilch ist die beste Tom Kha, die ich je gegessen habe, das Pho meiner Begleiter war riesig, das Tempura-Sushi und die Kokosbällchen waren köstlich. Insgesamt ist das Essen wirklich großartig. Der einzige Minuspunkt ist der unklare Service, die verwirrenden Bestellungen, Tische, die Reihenfolge der servierten Gerichte usw.

Essen ist wirklich top, aber wenn man zum Abholen bestellt nicht zu empfehlen. Trotz Vorbestellung muss man dann noch ewig warten bis man sein Essen tatsächlich in der Hand hält. Ärgerlich! Wofür wird einem dann überhaupt eine Abholzeit genannt!? Da wir dieses Problem jetzt mehrfach hatten werden wir hier kein Essen mehr bestellen.

Ich bin total enttäuscht. Wir haben 2 Essen zum Mitnehmen bestellt. Nach 20 Minuten haben wir das Essen bekommen aber eines war falsch. Also reklamiert. Wir mussten dann noch 30 Minuten warten bis wir das gewollte Baguette bekommen haben. Sorry aber das geht garnicht. Wenn man bei einer Reklamation 30 Minuten warten muss bis man ein "Baguette" bekommt was in kürzester Zeit gemacht werden kann ist, dann ist das unter aller Sau. Werde es vermeiden da nochmal zu essen auch wenn das Essen Ansicht gut war.

Die Getränke waren lecker. Das Essen war ok. Schade ... da die Räumlichkeiten schön gestaltet sind.
