Cocolo in Berlin

This used to be once so good....there are great places to eat Ramen in Berlin...this isn't one of them anymore...the wooden seats are so uncomfortable ... Just an unnecessary experience all together

So as an older semester the atmosphere is not really good and the tea was the worst thing I have ever drunk "lukewarm water"

Way to expensive and totally overhyped

The Tantan at Cocolo Ramen was excellent – ​​flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles and flavorful toppings. A must-try, gladly again!

Amazing!!! Friendly staff, great selection of food and combination of flavors. We ate everything and also ordered takeaway. I will definitely come back again.

The food was good, the service was very nice and the location was ok on the inside. Nothing new or fancy, but you feel comfortable. The smell that day was a bit unpleasant.

Food is absolutely delicious! Very good ramen in Berlin! I had the Tonkotsu ramen and Karage as an appetizer. They were both delicious! The Karage is crunchy and well served, which is fair for its price. The ramen was very tasty. The broth is good condimented and the noodles, although probably not self made, are very good. I was not the biggest fan of the ginger added to the ramen though. My friend had the miso ramen and was fascinated from it. Atmosphere is quite nice. I loved the decoration to make it feel very japanese. Beware that you’ll be sitting next to other people and the seats are not the most comfortable ones. Service is fine, from time to time faster or slower depending on the time of day I guess.

I had one of the lunch donburi with pork, which was very bland. I also had the fried aubergine as a starter, which also lacked seasoning. The waitress was also very unfriendly from the start, on the edge of being aggressive. All I wanted was to finish my mediocre meal and leave. I was really disappointed, will not come back.

I had the Tonkatsu ramen and it was blend and tasteless. The broth was not creamy and no layers. The Gyoza was too oily and soft. Nothing special.

Be aware that you're sitting together with other people. Pre-dish with the gherkins was an absolute joke. Prices rather high, but taste was good.

Since no more « german bouncer » Cocolo is back. Now you can enjoy tasty ramen recommend Tonkotsu or Niboshi Shio…but never forget my bad experience about Entrance : Not admitted …. » bouncer » did not accept people without vaccin even if they announced at the door 2G +meaning genesen or geimpft. It was not possible to enter inside with an official proof of recovery (genesen). Do not understand this situation, disappointed behavior from this bouncer… Almost fighting..Saf cause o was Coming as very regular customers….

I went there yesterday, I informed them multiple times that I’m allergic to sesame and if the ramen can be made without it, first they said yes and then came back and said that only a few of them can be made without it and showed me on their tablet which ones exactly. So they said that if I take the miso ramen vegetarian i will be fine. The first time they brought it, it had sesame seeds all over it so I called them and said they are sorry and they will make another one. They brought me another one and I didn’t see anything and I started eating. In my first bites I realised it had sesame in it and I also found one inside and showed it to the waitress. Food allergies are not a joke, if you can’t make something just say it. And they also asked me if I’m ‘very’ allergic to it. I couldn’t argue at that time because the only thing that mattered was to find the nearest hospital. This is unacceptable, I had to spend the night at the hospital in a different country alone. I will also make an official report and I hope the restaurant can take responsibility.

Very good food but we had stomach problems after it

Ramen here has special attention given to detail. The broth is well balanced and each dish adds the perfect amount and texture of toppings. Perfectly cooked eggs, pork so tender it pulls away with chopsticks. Loves the shrimp dumpling soup, no need to add condiments. Taste is vibrant already.

Always came back to Cocolo while in Berlin

Both the ramen and the appetizers were completely boring and way too expensive. It was quite loud and not particularly comfortable. The service was very nice, but the overall experience was unfortunately disappointing.

The food was very tasty even if the service took a long time. Waiting times are quite ok considering that the place is completely full. In any case, I recommend it.

Feels authentic, delicious ramens

Very decent Tonkotsu Ramen for €15. It went quickly and was very crowded.

I would honestly prefer to give 2.5 stars but that's not an option. All that is gone primarily because the space is EXTREMELY loud. It is all made of brick and to add insult to injury, the bathroom which is in the middle, has a totally open door which means you can hear the hand dryer and everything. Have you ever heard of curtains? doors? sound insulation? interior design for public spaces? not to go as far as Feng Shui since that's Chinese and not Japanese but I bet the lack of bathroom door is a huge red flag. I'm also normally not too bothered by sitting on tables with strangers but the people next to us were also not helping. The food was good, especially the karaage, but the wontons had an onion garnish that was not even mentioned in the menu and was not obvious that it was onion at all. This was very alarming since I'm intolerant and I nearly accidentally ate the whole thing thinking it was pickled cabbage or inoffensive something like that. I much preferred the previous location by the canal. It was at least spacious enough to not be so loud and the bathroom was far away. I would've not even bothered to leave a review to be honest if the atmosphere wasn't so intense because the rest I could forget about or focus on the positives but they're far from enough. You really need to invest in some kind of sound absorbency if you want to keep being popular I'm afraid.

A very cozy restaurant that presents Japanese cuisine with very good ramen. very nice staff and very nice cooks who work with a lot of motivation. highly recommended! I would go there several times without a doubt.

The food is absolutely delicious! The only minus is that for service we had to make sure to catch waitresses eye to order and to pay. Also, you have to share long tables with other people, which wasn’t a problem for us but I could see how some people wouldn’t enjoy this.

As a vegetarian, maybe not really a choice, but the miso soup was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is very nice and you can also feel comfortable alone and watch the men cooking at the counter.

Excellent Ramen place in Berlin. But gets really crowded over the weekend and during dinner time. Loved the TanTan Ramen and the Kaarage. Friendly staff and a great place!

Apparently the Cocolo Ramen in Kreuzberg was published by an influencer saying that she had some delivered and then had life poisoning. She complained that she no longer received the money back. Now she is agitating against Cocolo Ramen on her side. Dear haters, if it were food poisoning, then 200 people or even more guests would have food poisoning that day... It was delivered... How long did the food sit at home? Did she eat it straight away? Or was it perhaps lying around for a few hours? Was it really the food? Stomach flu? Corona? A cold? If it is food poisoning, this should also be confirmed by a doctor. And... Before you rate this store, please be aware of the consequences it can have for the restaurant. Everyone knows it from school that when someone points the finger at someone and they are the next victim... The best ramen in Berlin. It's all homemade and it's nice to taste it. The space is also very nicely done and the service is attentive and kind. Price-performance ratio is also right.

Very tasty ramen in different variations. It can be very crowded at lunchtime and in the evening.

Good ramen spot! I would definitely eat here again, but in my opinion it didn’t stand out that much. The tonkotsu broth was a little bit too intense for my liking but still enjoyable. The portion sizes for the ramen are perfect if you just want to have the ramen. We ordered the chicken karaage and potato salad starters to share, so we were too stuffed to finish our bowls!

The ramen itself was excellent - well-balanced flavors, fresh ingredients and a tasty broth that was simply convincing. The noodles had just the right consistency, and the accompaniments were generous and well chosen. What is particularly noteworthy, however, is the service: incredibly friendly, attentive and fast. Despite full tables, we never felt neglected and the recommendations were spot on. An all-round successful experience – I will definitely come back here!

Service fast and good, ramen also great, basic but good!

The food and tea were delicious. However, the seats are quite tight. The restaurant is very busy, so much so that there was even a queue in front of the door.

This is ramen for foreigners🍜. The portion for 15 euros per bowl is too small. The tonkotsu ramen is bland and greasy. The eggs are not Japanese soft-boiled eggs and the noodles are not authentic and too soft.

Excellent ramen. Medium orange wine, to leave in the open air. Very good green tea iced mochis.

I had tonkotsu ramen. Broth was good, noodles a bit too soft for me. Toppings were not very good (normal hard boiled egg, ginger inside which wasn’t mentioned on the menu, chashu was a bit chewy). The place and atmosphere is nice though.

Great place, good atmosphere and the Ramen was good. Not blow your socks off though and the meat was a little dry, but good.

We came here because it had a lot of good reviews, but honestly this was a total disappointment. I normally love Ramen, but this one was if anything mediocre and for what you get totally overpriced. The vegetables didn’t taste fresh and the portions are not big. Also, me and my friend wanted to sit and talk a little longer after the meal, but the waitress made clear she wanted us to leave. Thus, it wasn‘t a relaxing atmosphere and we felt pushed to get up. Definitely not coming here again.

Only rating service 4 because it's very expensive and these reviews do not allow a price value rating. For the rest it was great, tasty food, kind servers, nice street and interiors.

Always amazing ramen, but the barmen at the Terrasse with the shirt “barmen 7” was very very grumpy…

Unfortunately we had a very disappointing visit to this restaurant. First of all, we were charged in advance before we even got our food. To make matters worse, two guests smoked right next to us. When we asked to sit further away, we were told that the area was reserved, even though the entire restaurant was almost empty. In the end we had no choice but to pack our own food and go home. Unfortunately we cannot recommend it.

They must have bought reviews! Terrible staff forgot to give us all the purchased foods but still asked to come back for self pickup!

This is ramen! There's nothing more to say about it! The best Berlin has to offer and we have tried several! A must if you are in Berlin! We were there twice in one week! Great soup And the starters were also great with homemade miso etc… Thanks for the great hospitality! We would have liked to have had a few more sakes on the menu! Next time! Very boring waiters. The food is served quickly, but nothing special. Miso Ramen half cold and too salty with no character. There are many better restaurants in Berlin.

Tantan was almost tasteless, maybe because it’s served with chicken instead of pork. Tonkotsu was good, but still I wouldn’t come back here. Plus for very quick service

Disaster, disappointment. The quality of the food wasn't really there. No interaction with the waitress, they weren't interested in helping us with order or asking about our experience at all. For this quality any place is too much

Lunch menu very poor and expensive. Some rice, corn and minced chicken for €10. Extra paid egg was forgotten.

Tried the miso ramen here. It was okay, but nothing special. My partner has the shoyu ramen and that was very disappointing - far too salty and one-note. Karagi chicken was undercooked and not tasty. Not worth the glowing reviews as I'm sure Berlin has far better options on offer for anyone looking for a proper Ramen lunch or dinner in Berlin!

Gorgeous place to eat. We ordered the vegan ramen but it was too spicy for my wife and they were kind enough to prepare another one at no additional cost.

I once became aware of it through a YouTube post because it was highly recommended. Ramen (with wonton and chicken) was ok, but nothing more. Unfortunately the broth completely lacked spice and sophistication, just salty. The price of €15 was clearly too high for that. Plus point: you can sit outside very nicely with a view of the Graefekiez. Maybe it was good years ago. I can't explain the many positive reviews here any other way. Or the “hip factor” of the restaurant, as is unfortunately so often the case in Berlin, clouds the taste buds here. Conclusion: no recommendation. Taste and quality of ingredients below average, price too high.

Ok, it's really expensive all the starters and really small. The ramen itself is nothing outstanding, I think it's a bit expensive for what you get. But the size it's ok. The service is fast accept card.

Almost four stars, but you know: I'm strict... appetizer great, ramen was too basic for us and to be honest... nothing to look at. In terms of taste, the main course wasn't anything overwhelming, but it was ok. Then why the deductions? The prices. Crazy, how expensive. 3.5€ for 0.2l Cola (!!!)? So for two people, one main course and one starter each: around €50. In my opinion, too expensive for absolutely normal basic noodles. Service, hygiene and ambience: TOP! If you love ramen, you've come to the right place and you can't go wrong.

This place sets the scene for a good experience in Japanese cuisine. There selection of Ramen is absolutely perfect and the atmosphere in the place is cozy and relaxed. I got their Tan Tan which was good spicy.

I really have to highlight the worst customer service I’ve had so far. Taking out seasoning, cutlery because they are closing soon (in 1 hour ???!!!), same for our place, and finishing by being yelled, insulted because we are not giving tips????

Sadly this place is not what it used to be. The quality of the food is regular to bad and the prices are super high. Went to be my fav place to never want to go again.

so, this is the second time I’m trying this place, it’s the second time I’m not liking the food. But, it’s only me. I came here for lunch today, trying to snag a €10 cheap lunch and to see what it’s worth. I ended up getting a huge bowl of rice, which was covered in, canned corn and the other half consistent of minced chicken meat. In fact, the chicken was so minced that it kind of grossed me out because who knows what was actually in there? ew. 😂 Basically, my lunch consisted of a huge pile of carbohydrates with some protein, and one small green little vegetable. Either way, doesn’t matter, Cocolo is very popular and I’m sure they’re not gonna run out of business because of my Little impression. Add more veggies 🥗

Worst Ramen ever! The miso ramen was super salty I asked kindly to change the dish and the waiter suggested to add more broth obviously I didn’t go away. I feel super nauseous and sick after this dish. Never again in this horrible place. Enjoy the 13 euros you got from me.

Not very popular with the residents due to the noise and the queue in front of the shop, but once you're seated it's fine. A little hint: from the soup, pick out the noodles, then ask for a second helping.

The food is fine. Broth was missing a bit of flavour (tantan).

Consistently solid ramen. I've eaten much worse, but also some better ones, so one star is deducted. For me the broth could have had a little more depth. Personally, I prefer the pak choi to be pre-cooked a little, otherwise it is a bit too firm for me and still has too many bitter substances. Otherwise the noodles would have needed a little more.

The best Cocolo in Berlin - definitely try it out. Favorites: Karaage, Tantan, Tonkotsu.

Kind of disappointed with the lack of vegetarian options. There's one vegetarian Ramen and it's nice but not super special. Only veggie protein option is egg.

Overhyped, waaaay too overpriced. Too loud. Tonkotsu broth was tasteless and thin. It should be boiled for like a day and surely this wasn’t. Staff is extremely rude and I was forced to leave a tip. The karaage chicken was raw inside, a step closer to food poisoning. Never again. Surely there are better and cheaper places in Berlin for ramen.

We were looking for a good ramen and this turned out to be one of the best. We arrived there at 8:45 PM and were seated quickly, with friendly service Our order was also taken quickly and the starters arrived very quickly and one after the other. Gyozas were tasty but not fried and on the lukewarm side. The meat inside was just barely raw. Karage chicken was great. We had the Tonkotsu ramen, it was OK but not very tasty + not much garnish in… When we finished eating it was 10 pm and the staff were already clearing the terrace by turning off the lights and tidying up everything. They then asked us to leave while we were waiting for our taxi which arrived in the 5 minutes. This is a downside and not very customer friendly.

We ordered two different ramens and both tasted not fresh and very salty. One ramen gave a food poisoning! The worst ramen experience, unfortunately

I've been here repeatedly over the last few years. At first it was my favorite restaurant for ramen after Mori Mori. Unfortunately, the quality has continuously declined and at the same time the prices have increased significantly. This lunchtime the ramen was well below average. The broth was thin and bland, the noodles were not cooked through and about half as many as a year ago, but the egg was cooked through and fridge cold. I was served nicely in the spirit of a hipster bar, but I noticed how a male guest was treated absolutely unacceptable, apparently because of his gender. He had the same concern as me, wanting to sit at a table, but in contrast to me, he was snippily relegated to a table next to the open door with a roll of his eyes. He kindly asked for another table as he was sitting in the freezing cold breeze. He was rejected with a harsh no. Subsequent female guests were again allowed to choose their tables. Conclusion: It's a shame chocolate... I really enjoyed being here.

The people serving are super friendly, and we didn't wait long for the ramen to arrive at our table. The place was full that day, a little uncomfortable to talk but we were comfortable anyway. The tonkotsu was exquisite.
