Cocktail-Café Regie in Heidelberg

I rate establishments less and less, but this is a must for me. While staying in the charming city of Heidelberg, we stumbled into this establishment somewhat randomly. It's everything I love: simple, well-executed traditional brasserie cuisine, an impressive selection of cocktails at reasonable prices, and a pleasant atmosphere. It's definitely worth doing again and again.

Very nice location for a drink before the theater evening or dinner in a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately very full, so it's better to reserve.

Very inviting restaurant that offers cocktails from lunch to evening. The title says it all, the drinks menu is a DVD case. The restaurant invites you to linger and have a great time. “Poutine (fried fries), green falafel and polled beef” are great, and at the end we had a raspberry mole cake. Price is a little higher but worth it!

We went here back in September 2024. My boyfriend craved some burgers. We ordered some beer, my boyfriend misheard me and ordered that big glass of beer. We ordered some burgers, obviously. I am not a fan of burgers, but boy, oh boy. I was in for a treat. I don't know if that was the burger or the beer. Or the burger with the beer, but I felt so happy 🤣. ♡ I have absolutely no complaints about the place, the service, and the food. I will for sure recommend this place to people.

We tried a few of the delicious drinks at the bar (recommendation: Parasite and honey) and had a very nice evening!

Easy reservation, good area demarcated. Service a bit slow, drinks were okay. We'd love to come back, overall it's great and there's a nice new atmosphere in the store!!

How are you supposed to evaluate a shop where you sit down at a table, wait, wait, wait, look for the waitress, wave now and then, then, when she comes a little closer, ask if you can order something and then she answers : "Yes, I've already seen you," but in a tone as if you were trying to do something that really wasn't part of your job. Then she still doesn't come. You look at the counter quite perplexed.... The waitress is standing behind a guard at the back, hiding... from what? In front of the customers? She sees that I saw her and looks away. The whole thing is extremely strange. We asked ourselves what we had done wrong... We stayed there for another two minutes and then when nothing happened, we left again. Very professional, the whole thing. Never again. That's how fast it goes. The 14.1. at 3 p.m

Nos encontramos con este restaurante, ya que parecía convincente y casual. No decepcionó. Tienen un menú de bar enciclopédico, y el lugar obviamente atrajo a personas de todas las edades. El restaurante estaba lleno y animado, sin embargo, no tuvimos problemas para conseguir una mesa inmediatamente. Probamos varios cócteles excelentes, pero también estábamos muy contentos con la comida. El menú tiene una variedad de opciones, incluyendo opciones vegetarianas. Very nicely decorated bar based on the theme of "movies" The menu is a DVD case and the drinks are named after films. Special detail that didn't escape me: the non-alcoholic cocktails are named after children's films :) Very well thought out concept, really tasty and unusual cocktails with great service There are special promotions depending on the day of the week, just take a look.

Nice cafe with lots of interesting signature cocktails. 🍸🍹a pretty aesthetic and good cake. Service very friendly! Unfortunately we had to enjoy our cake without the coffee because it took a while to arrive. The waitress apologized on her own because it was busy. (Maybe one person too few for peak times) So all in all a very good cafe. 🙏🏻

Nice coffee, chill place with lots of space to relax after walking through the square. Excellent customer service, staff are really nice and attentive. I really appreciate the female hygiene supplies provided in the women’s bathroom. Shows the owners care for customers. Writing this review just for that one thing. Hard to find such hospitality in Germany. Hope to be back soon!

A very nice, quiet restaurant in the old town of Heidelberg. Great labeling of allergens on the menu - eating gluten-free is possible here! A really tasty meal and good service made us really enjoy the evening! We'll be back :)

Die Bar liegt in der Altstadt und bietet auch im Sommer einen schönen Aussenbereich. Innen ist die Bar gemütlich gestaltet. Es gibt eine gute Cocktailkarte. Auch die Speisekarte ist recht vielfältig. Von Burger über Bowls, Rösti bis Flammkuchen. Wir hatten Burger welcher sehr gut war. Service war freundlich.

Stopped by here by chance on our first visit to Heidelberg. Very cozy. All in all a bit expensive, especially the water.

We like to visit the Direkt cocktail café, today we enjoyed our lunch at 2 p.m., of course the tarte flambées are also delicious. When we have visitors from outside, we love going to the Direkt and our visitors are also very satisfied, which is also a pleasure for us prepared. The service was very nice and the food or our lunch came very quickly today and smelled heavenly. House lemonade is always recommended. We'll be back and soon.

The film theme is beautifully implemented with attention to detail; the drinks menu, for example, is structured like a DVD and the cocktails are named after films. It was exciting to be able to try out the “flavor” of certain films. The cocktails were delicious, the service was friendly and quick and the overall atmosphere was super pleasant.

This is a cozy and relaxed atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a night out with friends. They have really delicious flammkuchen with fun names and a good variety of classic and creative cocktails to choose from. The service is friendly. While the interior is simple, it feels intimate, making it a great spot for casual drinks.

Excellent place to hang out. Cool theme that teleport you to cinema flavour. Highly recommend!

A thoroughly positive experience! The food was super good, the service was quick and friendly, and reasonably priced too! What more could you want? I would love to come back!

Wanted to order cocktails. Had to wait over 40 minutes after ordering. Politely asking about the cocktails, only to be told that it's full and, if we don't like it, that we can leave. Since our order, several tables have been served with their orders. That's why we left because the waiter was visibly heated when he told us that and we don't tolerate this kind of disrespect and Reggie should be ashamed of it. We weren't used to this kind of treatment from the cocktail waitress from Reggie. We know the service better. So it's a shame, but it deserves a 1-star rating because we wanted to have a good time at the Reggie, but were ruined by the only option offered: "just go".

The staff was friendly, the food came in a reasonable time, there was a large selection and the food was tasty. It wasn't the first time we were there and definitely not the last time either.

Ein netter Ort um zu essen und zu klönen. Sehr nette aufmerksame Bedienung. Witzig gemachte Speisen- und Getränkekarte. Das Essen war lecker ! Wir haben draußen gesessen, für drinnen ist sicherlich eine Reservierung zu empfehlen.

Were there a total of 3 times, always ate cake and drank different coffees in the afternoon and were always very satisfied. Friendly, fast service, cakes always good quality.

Mi esposa y yo estuvimos aquí ayer y tomamos un par de cócteles cada uno. La elección y calidad estuvo muy por encima de la media, aunque el pisco sour no tuvo nada que ver con lo que debería ser (estamos en sudamérica la mitad de nuestro tiempo). Sin embargo, volvimos hoy y pedimos otros dos cócteles. Como había en el menú notas pequeñas para comer con las bebidas, sacamos una bolsa de patatas fritas que compramos en una tienda. Inmediatamente la camarera se atrevía a decirnos que esto no se apreciaba lo que hacíamos y que podíamos conseguir algo de ellos si queríamos comer algo. Terminamos nuestros dinks y no pedimos otro aunque todavía estamos en la ciudad para el resto de la semana. ¡Oportunidad perdida! De todos modos, está permitido tomar su propia botella de coca o agua si pide algo de comida. Vimos esto en muchas mesas, sin comentarios.

I dined here a year ago and am still thinking about this meal- one of the most satisfying stops after 25,000 sightseeing steps.

Being new to Germany and visiting Heidelberg for the first time, I was excited to experience the local hospitality. Unfortunately, our evening at this bar turned into a disappointment due to the unprofessional behavior of the staff. After my friend’s birthday dinner, we decided to wrap up the night with some cocktails. I'd like to remind here that I am a cinephile -so, the menu was quite attractive- and I love sour cocktail - yet, not sour hospitality. The evening started off well, but things took a sour turn when my friend -the driver- was served a stronger cocktail he couldn’t drink. Although the drink was eventually replaced, the waiter’s attitude was noticeably unfriendly. Things escalated when another friend accidentally dropped a glass as he was leaving. He left 5 Euros to cover the cost of the glass. When the waiter came by, my friend offered an apology - only to be met with a muttered response and a cold shoulder. The waiter later accused us of not apologizing despite our efforts to make amends. Around 11:30 PM, the atmosphere had become increasingly uncomfortable. My friend tried to calmly explain that the incident was not intentional, but the waiter continued to argue that we hadn’t apologized properly - "Just say sorry, man". Repeated this like 5-6 times. So, we decided it to leave. We waited for the waiter to clean up, handed him the 5 Euros, and paid for our drinks, even though we hadn’t finished them. While we were trying to pay and leave, the waiter continued to argue, even after my boyfriend asked if we could just settle the bill and go. His attitude was unnecessarily confrontational, turning what should have been a joyful evening into a frustrating experience. As a first-time visitor to Heidelberg, I was disappointed by the lack of hospitality. Good service involves understanding and respect, qualities that were unfortunately missing here. I would recommend exploring other bars in Heidelberg where the staff is more professional and welcoming, so you don’t have to end your night on a sour note.

Here we drank delicious cocktails and ate tarte flambée and a citizen's burger, which was nothing special. Unfortunately, the Greek-style tarte flambée with dried tomatoes and olives. Super mega tasty, the cocktails were good and the waitresses are very, very, very friendly. Thank you

Were there on 8/3/24. There was too much alcohol in the Black Forest Torte for my taste, but tastes can be debated. But what didn't work at all was the service. It was relatively full outside, which is okay if the waitress can't take her time and can't be super polite. But she gave stroppy short answers when asked about the cake selection. In the end my bill was €19.40, I gave her €20. I didn't want to tip this time. Annoyed, she pushes €0.50 into my hand and says rudely, I DON'T HAVE 10 CENTS and walks away without saying goodbye. It's only 10 cents but for me the principle is that you actually ask if you can change or ask a colleague who still has change!

We got scolded by the waiter over a broken glass, in front of my wife and my guests from abroad. Not okay at all. Went there as a group of 8 for a few cocktails with our colleagues, some friends from abroad, and my wife after her birthday dinner. The waiter misunderstood my cocktail even after repeating 3 times. I pointed out, it was replaced, but the waiter was displeased. I felt the need to say that I’m the driver, so I couldn’t drink the heavier cocktail he brought me. No positive attitude or anything, he went and brought my cocktail. When my colleagues decided to leave early, one of them accidentally dropped a glass. We kissed our goodbyes nevertheless, he looked around for the waiter who was nowhere to be seen, and then he left 5 Euros to compensate for the glass. I picked up some large broken pieces with my hands to make it easier for the waiter. Then we sat down at our place again. A few seconds later the waiter came and saw the broken glass. I pointed it out to him and said I’m sorry. He muttered something and left, I couldn’t even hear him. Then he came back and I asked what he said. He said “The glass is broken and you’re not even saying anything, not even apologizing or saying sorry”. I’ll start positively, it was a late hour (around 23:30) so I guess he was tired. But we are not friends, you cannot scold me in front of my guests over a broken glass, which I already even tried to clean up, and apologized over. Immediately after his remark, I said “we are leaving” and we stood up. Then we proceeded to wait for him to finish cleaning up, an uncomfortably long wait. Then I tried to explain to him, it wasn’t even me who broke it, and yet I already apologized, but he was so busy with his own thoughts that he wasn’t even listening. He kept repeating “You could at least say sorry”. Someone else in my place could have put him in his place for being so inhospitable, but I worked as a waiter growing up and I know how a long day feels like. So I just gave him the 5 Euros my friend left, to compensate at least partially, paid for the cocktails we didn’t even have a chance to drink due to his passive aggressive attitude, and left. Hospitality is all about communication, and if you cannot even communicate with the customer, you should not be working in this line of business. Long days happen, but you cannot ruin my wife’s birthday with your attitude, scold me in front of my guests and colleagues over it. There are much better places with more deserving staff. Avoid it unless you accept the chance that the guy simply had a long day and he’ll decide to take it out on you.

The situation was uncomfortable, especially as it was late, around 11:30 PM. The waiter's attitude felt unwarranted, considering the circumstances. My friend, who has experience working as a waiter, remained calm and tried to explain that the incident wasn't intentional. However, the waiter kept insisting that we hadn’t apologized properly. This continued until my friend decided it was best for us to leave. We waited for the waiter to clean up and then my friend handed him the 5 Euros our other friend left and paid for the drinks we couldn’t fully enjoy due to the tension. We just wanted to pay and leave, even though we hadn't finished our drinks. The waiter kept arguing with my friend, and when I tried to intervene by saying, "Can we just pay and leave?" he continued to argue with us, displaying a really bad attitude. This experience was disappointing, especially since it marred what should have been a pleasant evening celebrating a birthday. Good hospitality requires good communication and respect for customers, something this establishment failed to provide. As someone who values good service and a welcoming atmosphere, I would recommend seeking out other places with more professional and courteous staff. I don't think you should have to end a big night feeling upset just because the staff were tired or unhappy and decided to take it out on you.

Although the decoration is 100 points, it is more like a bar. You can only drink coffee and eat cakes in the catering. The catering also has salad burgers. It is a restaurant worth stopping in Heidelberg.

Quality of drinks good, normal price, I liked the vibe of the place. However, the waiter (or waitress) was rude which does not fit with the concept of the cocktail -bar.

This restaurant with its adjacent terrace is in a beautiful location in Heidelberg, just outside the hustle and bustle of the main shopping street, but still with plenty of people watching. The service is also friendly, and they have a large cocktail menu here

Large choice of cocktails (the Hamlet was a good alternative to Aperol Spritz) and the specialties were excellent.

we had a vegetarian burger and the Messy Meatballs Bowl (vegan). The bowl was super tasty! And the burger too. Lots of vegan options! However, rather expensive there. Food is around 5-8 p.m. per dish, but large portions and as I said, very tasty! Very nice service and lots of seating options outside too!

Lovely place and amazing food!!

We went here for dinner, even though Director is more of a cocktail bar. There is a large selection of dishes that we found to be consistently good (6 people = 6 different dishes). Prices are quite high (Caesar salad for €19), but the portions are really big. We all thought they could have been smaller. There was nothing wrong with the taste. Alcoholic drinks were also good, only my flat white could have been stronger.

Super cozy little cafe/cocktail bar. The cocktails, cappuccino and banana cake are to die for. The service was not very friendly and interested. The menu is exceptional and the dishes are very good. There is truly a huge selection of cocktails. The prices are high (cake 5.00 euros, water 3.80, food between 18-30 euros). But we are also in the city center of Heidelberg.

Movie concept place. Menus in sticky DVD casings. Men make the drinks and stand around talking in the bar while young girls run around on the floor looking completely overworked. I waited 30 minutes to pay after asking for my bill. Walked to the bar and asked to pay. Bartender said: "That's really not my problem". What an inconvenience I was, for wanting to pay my bill. I left. Drinks were good but the guys at the bar - way over the line obnoxious, arrogant and entitled. It's fair to mention that venue has intense acoustics- it gets loud. But drinks are apparently free if you have the patience.

Today we were in the “director’s office” for the first time. The atmosphere was very appealing and charming, we immediately felt at home. The music selection was great and at a pleasant volume. The drinks and menu has something for every taste. When it comes to the dishes, it was noticeable that the selection wasn't too sophisticated and wasn't run of the mill either. We had the asparagus burger. Delicious!!! The toilet was also clean and it smelled good! The service could be a little more attentive. However, everyone was friendly. We would be happy to come back the next time we visit the city

We will never go there again. It was quite a hot day and we were traveling with a small infant who needed to be breastfed. Since all the shady spots were already occupied, I asked a waitress to please open another parasol so I could breastfeed the baby. With a very unfriendly tone it said,,NO!!!,,. I told her that we were there with five other people and would like to eat something more, but she didn't care. Many other guests noticed this and couldn't begin to understand this kind of unfriendliness and lack of understanding.

It was my first time there. The meal took a while, but it tasted delicious. The music was pleasant. The drinks were very enjoyable especially Ariel drink. The service could be more entertaining and quicker. Instead of giving customers time, they invested more time in chatting, laughing and talking loudly with their colleagues. The space is a bit tight and there is a lot going on. Reservations in advance are recommended.

We were able to sit outside in the sunshine, very idyllic, Delicious tarte flambée, great cocktails, great service and good value for money again at any time
