Hotpot is a fun experience which I definitely recommend. The food was delicious and the waiter were super fast and lovely.

A true delight of Chinese cuisine! My lunch at City Garden was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and far exceeded my expectations. The wonton soup was a promising start – a clear, flavorful broth with tender, filled dumplings. The absolute highlight, however, was the Kung Bao Duck. The tender, roasted duck meat practically melted in the mouth and harmonized perfectly with the delicious, perfectly balanced Kung Bao sauce. The fresh, crisp, steamed vegetables provided a wonderful contrast. This dish was absolutely harmonious and delighted my palate. A huge compliment to the chef for this masterful creation! The second dish, the chicken with peanut sauce, was also a hit. It delighted with its flavors and the quality of the ingredients. This delicious lunch was rounded off by the attentive and friendly service of the waitress. Their helpfulness contributed significantly to the pleasant atmosphere. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to the City Garden restaurant. Authentic, high-quality Chinese cuisine, prepared with attention to detail, awaits you. I'll definitely be back!

I went there multiple times. Sometimes with reservation sometimes without. But, it is always safe to have a reservation. Very friendly, kind and nice staff. The location is nearby Frankenberger viertel, it is a little bit far from city center but who cares. Because, foods are amazing. Especially, hot pots is great. I always bought 3 different taste for hot pot. You pay only once and try all kind of vegetables, meat etc from the main hall. The ambience is simple, cozy and welcoming. I strongly suggest the City Garden to the the people who wants to try Chinese food.

You can do that once in a while.

First, a brief note on the ambiance. It's clean, and it's a great place to eat and sit with lots of people. There's also a variety that's grown over the years. But the restaurant doesn't look "Chinese" at all. It's not important, but it's worth mentioning. What definitely needs updating, however, are the menus inside and the large menu outside the window. Apart from that, the large buffet makes it particularly suitable for students who are very hungry.

The broths were delicious. A bit watery, but still tasty. The sauce bar was unfortunately very disgusting; there were little flies everywhere, even in the sauces and garlic. Overall, the place didn't look very hygienic to me. The staff was very friendly.

Anyone looking for authentic Eastern Chinese food will find it here. It's easy to tell that the food here is predominantly Chinese. The restaurant is known for hot pot (火锅 huo guo, hot pot) - Chinese fondue. You can pick ingredients from the buffet to cook in the hot pot. For example, beef or lamb, vegetable or chicken balls, tofu, or vegetables. The fondue pot can be divided into two parts upon request, allowing you to cook in the spicy or mild broth. I find it incredibly delicious. The spicy broth is also suitable for Europeans. Soft drinks are included in the hot pot package for €27. These are unpretentiously placed on the table in bottles and glasses. The camping stoves placed on the tables are equally practical. Huoguo is almost impossible to eat without making a few small spills. I think it's part of the Chinese idea of comfort that the table gets dirty while eating. So you shouldn’t wear clothes that are too delicate.

First, the meat rolls were cut too thickly. Second, the sauces didn't taste authentic. Hopefully the owner will take these suggestions seriously!! :)

The dishes are varied and the ingredients are very fresh. I had the buffet hot pot and was not disappointed. It cost 29.9 euros per person and 27.9 euros for two people. The beef rolls and lamb rolls were not of poor quality. I will come again next time.

Amazing food for a great price!

We went there for the first time today. Unfortunately, we were the only guests there for lunch, which initially made us a little uneasy, but you learn from it: "The better to try, the better." We had hot pot with three different broths and a generous buffet with various vegetables, noodles, fish, and various sauces, etc. Everything was delicious; we could have spent a relaxing two hours there. The service was very attentive, constantly bringing out new beef and explaining things to us. For dessert, ice cream and fruit were included in the buffet price. We went as a family, and even our daughter loved it. We'll definitely be back.

The price for an all-you-can-eat meal is okay. Meats like beef, lamb, and pork belly as hotpot were decent. A variety of buffet dishes were available, although they often ran out quickly and were only refilled after repeated requests.

Incredibly authentic cuisine (nothing Western), generous portions, dishes can be very spicy (graduation from 1 to 5 chilies), very courteous staff! The prices are very reasonable and cleanliness seems to be a must! Highly recommended for an experience that will immerse you in the food customs and traditions of China. 4 minutes walk from the sublime Suermondt-Ludwig-Museum (which allows you to go out for lunch free of charge)...

The food doesn't have quality, It's not even like Chinese food, The prices are not fair and portions of the foods are lower that other restaurants. Also the service staffs are all the time looking at you and check how much you eat and make you anxious. At all you have better experience in other asian restaurants of the city

We had dinner there with 4 people. Very cozy and the food is very tasty. The prices are okay, affordable for every man. And therefore the staff is very nice. I can only recommend it!

The menu and the food don't match, the dishes are served with the same vegetable base, topped with the respective meat and then "refined" with sauce from the bag. Service was nice but only two stars because we asked several times "no garlic in the food" unfortunately to no avail.

It is so hard to find a real hotpot restaurant in Germany. City Garden delivers with spades. Nothing is Westernised and the Szechuan soup is genuine ma/la. And lamb! That's almost unheard of in a country where pork rules. Looking around I felt like sitting in Beijing or Singapore. Too bad the weather doesnt cooperate.

We really loved the all-inclusive hotpot experience at City Garden Aachen. The spicy flavor had a perfect amount of spice, and the two other soup flavors were also good. There were lots of ingredients to choose from. I believe we haven't tried them all. There was even a buffet with prepared food already ready to eat as well. All that for a good price, awesome! We will definitely come back here.

Authentic Chinese restaurant. A la carte is great and not the westernized meals you can get at the standard Chinese on the corner. Hotpot is definitely recommended. Lots of choice, unlimited meat, unlimited soft drinks and also ready-made dishes. Don't expect a star restaurant in terms of decor. Just a nice restaurant where you can really eat Chinese food for a good price!

Very, very good, 26.9 is a good deal (30+ for any purchase at Ochama). Babies who like soy products can try the fried bean bubbles, ring rolls, dried bean curd, and dried tofu skin. Is there any sour taste? The tofu my classmates ate at Fuchun Garden was sour. 😅The fruits are very fresh and sweeter than those in the supermarket, especially pineapple, watermelon and cherries. An absolutely fantastic restaurant! The selection is huge, authentic and incredibly delicious! Especially for fans of authentic Chinese cuisine, but generally there is something for everyone! The price is really unbeatable. We will definitely come back. Already one of our new favorites in Aachen.

If you want to be reborn, hurry up and eat at City Garden. The hot pot buffet is 26 euros per person. After finishing the meal, you must run away. I arrived at the store at 7:30 in the evening. I wanted thousand-layer tripe but not thousand-layer tripe, shrimp but not shrimp. I wanted to eat mutton rolls. One plate of mutton rolls only has a few slices of meat, and it was finished in one minute. It took ten minutes to get another plate. Are your mutton rolls freshly cut? We were there to eat HotPot and I have to say we were very skeptical at first because the inside of the shop really wasn't that nice. BUT the broths were very good and the HotPot buffet looked fresh. It took a long time for everything to happen, but it was within limits.

I went here for dinner with a group of friends. The restaurant offers an all-you-can-eat hot pot menu, so you have to cook your own food in this large broth-filled pot. You can choose between spicy or mild broth. I have to say that I didn't like many of the dishes. Firstly, all the food is frozen, you have to take it from a fridge and then cook it, that's not a flaw but an interesting concept, but the quality was the biggest problem here. I didn't like the meatballs at all, the pork cold cuts were a little better, but the rest wasn't as good. I thought surimi and noodles were ok. You can also help yourself from a buffet of pre-prepared dishes, soy sauce for pork and chicken tasted ok but the meat was rubbery and the sauce was way too drooling. The chicken wings were undercooked. Overall the quality was low, comparable to a canteen. In total I paid €25.90 (including ice cream!), I would say too much for the quality of the food. I definitely won't be back, but I recommend a visit for those who have never tried this type of food.

Da wir einfach wieder einmal chinesisch essen wollten, sind wir spontan zum ersten Mal zum City Garden um die Ecke gegangen. Wir hatten Standardessen erwartet und waren dann doch erstaunt, was man alles essen kann. Von Schweinefüßen, über Schweineohren, bis hin zur gebackenen Kröte konnte man sich auf der Karte auswählen. Zuerst wollten wir dann doch nur ein Getränk nehmen und wurden aber von der netten Bedienung überzeugt etwas zu essen. Wir entschieden uns dann für traditionelle Gerichte, die dann aber wirklich sehr lecker waren und ungewöhnlich schmeckten. Wer also authentische chinesische Küche sucht, dem können wir den City Garden empfehlen. Schon eine Woche später waren wir wieder da… Wir haben einen Stern abgezogen, da das Ambiente nicht überzeugt.

Visited this place last year while taking a walk through the streets of Aachen. There are many Asian restaurants in Aachen, most of them serve great food but you don't get the Asian vibe from the place & staff. However, this wasn't the case here - this place is super authentic in its cuisine, staff and ambience. I tried the basic noodles with chicken and it was delicious. The prices are very budget friendly this I would recommend this place for everyone. Great taste at good price.

Proper authentic Chinese food and Hot pot. When you walk in, you immediately get that really good Chinese food smell,literally just like in many good restaurants in China. The staff are very friendly and ask upon seating if you would like the buffet or order from the menu. There are 3 soups to choose from,chicken,tomato and spicy. We got all 3. There is a fair number of things to choose from for the Hotpot, and the waiters will bring you either Lamb or beef slices- which they can top up when you ask. In the cold fridge theres a nice variety of seafood,tofu and also more exotic ingredients like duck blood and beef tripe,all good quality,which I haven't seen in many places. In addition to the hot pot ingredient buffet, there are hot and cold dish stations; all the dishes I tried were good,especially the cold spicy noodles. I also had a look at the actual menu, which was massive and the portions were rather large,so definitely for sharing. Will definitely be coming back!

Hot pot is fantastic, also the Chinese Menu is well recommended. Interior isn't necessarily beautiful, but it's clean and also somewhat cozy.

Update Juli 2023 Nach nunmehr 10 Jahren hat es noch kein asiatisches Restaurant geschafft, uns mehr zu überzeugen als der City Garden. Egal ob Tellergerichte oder Hot Pot, wir gehen jedes Mal glücklich nach Hause! Hier kommen wir super gern vorbei und genießen die abwechslungsreiche, feurige chinesische Küche. Das Restaurant wird viel von asiatischen Gästen besucht und belegt damit, dass das Essen doch recht authentisch ist. Am besten bestellt man von der chinesischen Karte oder nimmt den Hot Pot. Dazu sollte man sich ein wenig mit den etwas ungewöhnlichen Zutaten auskennen oder experimentierfreudig sein. Das Personal ist überaus freundlich, spricht aber nicht immer so gut deutsch. Das stört jedoch nicht wirklich, man findet schon gemeinsam einen Weg zur Verständigung. Das Ambiente ist sehr bunt für das deutsche Auge, aber wohl durchaus so, wie man es auch im asiatischen Raum vorfinden würde. Wir sind jedenfalls sehr gern hier und können das Essen nur weiterempfehlen.

We hadden nog nooit hotpot gegeten en bij de serveerster waren we in goede handen: ze koos voor ons de ideale hotpotsituatie. Het buffet was veel lekkerder dan in Belgische Chinese restaurants. Veel gedurfder. Eendenbloedblokken waren niet aan mij besteed, maar het zwarte sesamijs des te meer. Volgens mij is dit het leukste wat je qua eten kan doen als je in Aachen bent.

A happy place in Aachen! The food is incredibly tasty, the service is amazing (they always have a smile on:)), and.. wait for it! The ice cream is out of this world and included is you get hotpot, same for soft drinks. Bonus points they also have several types of exotic fruits and nice interior design, 100/10.

If you come in the evening, the buffet stir-fry menu will be a little more extensive, and the quality of the food matches the price. The ice cream buffet only has one flavor left.

Wir waren mit 4 Leuten zum Mittag Hot Pot essen. Das Buffet und die Auswahl war groß und vielseitig und hat gut geschmeckt. Der Service war super, sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Es gibt sogar eine Treuekarte die man hier definitiv voll kriegen wird 😄

Vorneweg: Wir wussten absolut nicht worauf wir uns bei dem Restaurant einlassen, wir wollten einfach nur asiatisch essen. Vor Ort wurden wir sehr herzlich empfangen und das Buffetprinzip „Hot Pot“ wurde uns super erklärt. Das Buffet war übersichtlich und die Speisen authentisch asiatisch. Das Ambiente war gewöhnungsbedürftig und recht laut, die Einrichtung einfach und das Buffet übersichtlich. Wir wurden super bedient, weder sammelte sich Geschirr, noch warteten wir lange auf Getränke oder Fleisch. Man sollte wissen, dass das Essen hier nicht viel mit dem zu tun hat, was man üblicherweise beim „Chinesen“ bekommt. Ist sicher nicht für jeden etwas. Leider ließ die Sauberkeit im Bereich der Toiletten und auf dem Flur dorthin zu wünschen übrig. Alles in allem ist das Restaurant in Ordnung und wird Leute, die authentische asiatische Küche möchte glücklich machen.

Sehr sehr leckeres autentisches chinesisches Essen. Es hat mich an meine China Reise erinnert. Typische Chinesische Zutaten wie Szechuanpfeffer und Lotuswurzel.
