A really great American diner vibe, and the service and food were really good too!

Tonight, the four of us dined here. Luckily, we found a parking spot almost right outside. Our mozzarella sticks as a starter arrived very quickly. We tried the homemade lemonades. They were delicious! The service was super friendly and quite efficient. Mom and daughter each had half a cheeseburger with hash browns. My son had the fried egg burger, and I had the burger plate without a bun. The meat was a bit overcooked for my taste. Nevertheless, everything was nice and juicy, so it was okay. I suppose most people like it that way... The sweet fries and country potatoes were also excellent. The portions were so generous that we wouldn't have been able to manage dessert. What was being served at the next table certainly looked delicious. Overall, the restaurant gave a clean impression, as did the restrooms. Keep it up, we'll be back!!!

best burger i ever had...great service!!!

We ordered four burgers. Unfortunately, the bun on all four was rock hard (probably old), the meat was very dry, and two were very burnt. The fries weren't exactly great either. For around €18 per burger, it was inedible. After complaining that it wasn't edible, we could have returned it or gotten free drinks. Unfortunately, we opted for two. We didn't want to throw the food away. We should have.

We wanted to eat burgers again after a long time. Chong's Diner seemed like a good place, as I had been there a long time ago and had fond memories. Ambience: It's a bit dated, as you can see from some of the chairs and their peeling faux leather. The pennants and sandal garlands on the ceiling are completely inappropriate. It looks like a carnival rather than a diner. The interior seemed quite dark, despite the sun shining. The menus were two laminated A4 pages: one for the food and one for the drinks. They were, however, very worn and felt "dirty." For a Friday evening, it was surprisingly quiet. A reservation was unnecessary. Food: We ordered a cheeseburger and a Sue Ellen burger. Along with a beer and a "homemade lemonade." I don't understand how a soda can be "homemade" if you just mix two syrups with water. I would retract this criticism if the syrup was actually homemade. But since the fries seemed to be convenience food, and so was the coleslaw, I doubt it. The burger buns reminded me a bit of those from the bread shop, so they weren't homemade either. The burgers tasted okay. The soda was unfortunately a bit too "spicy." My biggest criticism is the mayo squeeze bottle, which was placed on the table next to a mustard squeeze bottle and an original Heinz ketchup bottle. Ketchup and mustard aside... I do find the indefinable period of time the mayo was out of refrigeration worrying. Conclusion: The price-performance ratio was okay. The food was okay, but not outstanding. Before I go back to Chong's Diner, I'll try out other establishments first.

For me, these are still the best burgers for miles around. Fresh meat from the butcher, not frozen patties. Freshly prepared, great variety, and great taste. Very friendly service. Crispy fries and delicious coleslaw. We've also tried the lunch special several times – fantastic value for money and the same perfect service and taste as in the evening.

Amazing burgers, especially Hermann's Monster Burger cooked medium-rare, a burger fit for the gods with a pink center. The fries are amazing, the iced tea is delicious, the Zirndorf beer is great, and the Rothbiser beer is amazing.

Alex really delivered a top performance, was friendly, and cashed everything quickly. And Marcel's cocktails were absolutely top-notch too 👏

Unfortunately, I have to say that the burgers and chicken wings didn't live up to my expectations. I've lived in the US and Asia before, so I was really looking forward to the Buffalo wings and the burger. The Buffalo wings: technically flawless, well-fried, but the Buffalo sauce was a standard BBQ sauce, nothing like the Buffalo sauce I've encountered in the US and even in Dubai. A complete disappointment. The burger, Joshua's BBQ Burger medium, also came medium, but completely tasteless. A monotonous dish. The Double Stackhouse at Burger King is better and more flavorful. Even the fries were bland. It's a shame, really, because the service was very friendly. Even the freshly poured Zirndofer beer was gone. It's a real shame. I don't usually write reviews, but it was important to me to share my opinion. I didn't finish the burger because I simply didn't like it.

I had a cheeseburger with fries. The price/performance ratio just wasn't right. The bun was bone dry, cheap, from a bag. The meat was also of poor quality. The sauce didn't help matters. Went here spontaneously on a Saturday evening. Burgers are served with fries and coleslaw, and the mixed salad with turkey, sun-dried tomatoes, bacon, and Parmesan dressing was delicious. Good value for money. However, we were a bit confused by the €9.50 price tag for a liter of table water, as it's just table water.

I have to revise my review from 6 years ago. Good fries, but the burger... unfortunately it was a non-starter... how can you cook a meat patty so badly... and in a burger shop. When I was told that it wasn't anything, the only answer was "I'll pass it on..." no wonder there was so little going on... completely different picture than 6 years ago... unbelievable.

Cool American dinner. We had chili and burgers. The burgers were tasty, large and the fries were plentiful. The fries were particularly excellent. In my opinion, the chili was too tomato-heavy, but that's a matter of taste. The ambience is great.

Top tier in Nuremberg. The breakfast is the best, and the burgers are also good. Milkshakes have too much milk and not enough ice cream. What really sets it above the rest is the decoration and the fact there is no other comparable American breakfast around.

Jetzt ist es so, dass mir persönlich die Menge passt, aber es schmeckt nicht mehr. Zu wenig Soße, Gurke und Tomate. Der Speck ist zu dick und jemand muss dem Koch sagen, dass es so etwas wie Gewürze gibt. Selten sowas ohne Geschmack gegessen. Mein Kumpel hat sich genau so beschwert. Außerdem war ein Haar auf meinem Burger. Ein verdammt langes Haar. Ich habe zum Service gesagt, dass der Koch ein Haarnetz tragen soll und anstatt sich zu entschuldigen und gut ist, hat er gesagt, dass er sich nicht vorstellen kann, woher das lange Haar kommt, keiner von denen hat so lange Haare. Während er das sagt, kommt der zweite Kellner mit einer langen, wallenden Mähne vorbei. Alles in allem nicht mehr zu empfehlen. Wir werden es Ende des Jahres noch einmal versuchen. Wenn es wieder passt, werde ich diese Kritik natürlich ändern.

A true institution. Nuremberg is a great city with many different restaurants, but Chong’s Diner is a real MUST! Not only the ambience, but also the food is authentic. The portions are large, everything is prepared with love and it tastes incredibly delicious. A great menu with something for every taste and yet not too over-the-top. Delicious shakes, burgers and starters, the salads are also great and there's breakfast too! I'm definitely looking forward to the next visit and can only recommend everyone to visit Chong's Diner more often.

I've been going to Chongs for many years and I'm still of the opinion that they have the best burgers in Germany. The meat is really juicy and not fried to death like in other restaurants. The toppings on the burgers are great and the burgers are a good size. We will definitely come by again.

I used to go to Chongs Diner often. Also for breakfast and every visit was great. This time the service was terrible. So really bad. We would be escorted to the table and shortly afterwards the menu would be brought and that was it. After about 15 - 20 minutes I went to the bar and asked if we could order something. The service was not motivated at all... Took our order. Drinks and food came relatively quickly! We put our plates aside when we were finished. And waited... We then went out for some fresh air and when we came in the plates were still there. After 30 minutes we went to the bar to pay. Service has zero interest in the guests... But the Oberhammer, maybe you should have read it... But honestly? €5.50 extra charge for sweet potato fries INSTEAD of normal fries? Extremely exaggerated!!! I would understand if there was an extra charge... But so extreme...? That makes you feel really fooled! For the price I took the extra... But not €19 for the regular burger with fries and then another €5.50 for a different type of fries... Food is great. Kudos to the kitchen.!! Service terrible...

Chong's is its own entity. Constantly full, but the service is good. Food is amazing, and the drinks are refreshing.

I've been eating at Chong's off and on for 29 years. That probably means I'm happy. On my last visit on December 29, 2024, the hut was full and 2 people were responsible for the service and drinks. Of course, everything took a very long time. I was served my burger after 60 minutes, lukewarm, as were fries. I don't think it's normal to run a large restaurant business with so few staff and the paying customer is the main one. There is no doubt about the quality of the food, everything is right. What is the reason for the lack of staff?

This was the best American style burger I have ever had anywhere! This is far better than anywhere in America I have eaten and the quality, portion, and flavor was outstanding! The food is really plentiful and tasty, but the prices are sometimes outrageous. If you want sweet potato fries or onion rings INSTEAD of fries, you have to pay an extra charge of €4.90. I would understand that if there was an extra portion, but as an additional charge it is more than exaggerated. An extra charge of €2 would be ok, but I preferred to stick with the fries.

Great American diner with a huge selection. There are burgers (also veggie), spare ribs, many starters (like onion rings, mozzarella sticks, etc...) and desserts. The atmosphere is very nice and the waitresses are always there and very friendly. A burger comes with a load of fries and cole slaw. Since the burgers are already very powerful, you are really full after one portion. I would love to come here again!

A nice American diner, we each had a bourger that included fries and a coleslaw salad, as well as a Dr.Pepper Cola and a Pepsi. Including tip €48. The service was very nice, the toilets were very clean, the music was also very great American. Me and my wife had a very pleasant experience and will definitely come back when we feel like burgers. The portion was large and we were very full, and at a great price.

The best burger in town. We have been coming here for 11 years and the large burgers always taste very good and delicious. The service is always friendly and accommodating. The great furnishings make you feel like you're in 1950s America. Please keep it up.

A first! As die-hard Nurembergers, we spontaneously came to the restaurant, which in the past was always full, hoping to get a table and were surprised that there was hardly anyone there. Despite the large staff, it took 20 minutes until we were asked for our order. Since the menu wasn't what it used to be, we decided to drink 2 light drinks and snack on a portion of onion rings. 10 minutes later the onion rings were on the table but there was no trace of the drinks. When I asked, the waitress assured me that they would take care of it. Another 10 minutes later the onion rings were cold too. We decide to leave. Congratulations on going again, no one has ever done THAT!!! Sad when you think of the Chongs from before.

1. Food: The buns are not homemade, but bought. With the slightest pressure they fall apart, making it unnecessarily complicated to eat the burger. Furthermore, they are dry. Otherwise the burger is OK. Not bad but not sensational either, especially considering the price. Which brings us to topic 2. 2nd prize: Unfortunately, €16.90 for a cheeseburger that falls apart almost immediately due to the bun and tastes mediocre at best is unfortunately too much. A 0.5 liter beer costs just €5, 1 liter of table water (i.e. tap water) costs €11.50. San Pellegrino 0.75 liters costs €8.90. Honestly, I can be kidding myself and at some point this rip-off will end. Inflation or not. The pricing policy at Chong's is outrageous. 3. Service: Nice staff, attentive and quick 4. Great food, great service, great place. We found it by chance and we received a warm welcome from the owner. The food was excellent, one of the best burgers I have ever tried. The homemade soft drinks were also fantastic. The place itself is pure wander, it feels like being in an authentic diner in the states. Just a brilliant experience, I would definitely recommend it!

We were return to this restaurant after 10 years and I could confirm that quality is the same as previously. The portions were big (the kids menu available) and tasty. There is possible to modify the ingredients due the customer preferences. The salad is serve in separate small bowl. Take away packaging option available.

Yesterday I was in the area and parked the car next to the restaurant. I saw the waitress bring a burger to someone's table. I told my wife we ​​should try it too and we left. VERY tasty and good, huge portion and very friendly staff. The price is ok for such a portion. We will definitely come back.

Nice American diner with a large selection of burgers that leaves nothing to be desired. There were also really delicious fries that were prepared in fresh fat. The portions will satisfy even hungry mouths. What was great was that, even though some of the chicken in the chicken salad we ordered was not yet cooked through, the meat was fried without any problems. The service was friendly and quick, the toilets were clean. Gladly again!

Once again on the safe side! At Chong's you know what you're getting: attentive, friendly and fast service, the best burgers in town, great side dishes and salads, and even American breakfast on weekends until 3 p.m. Everyone in the family will find what they are looking for here. Always happy for over 20 years.

We ordered something to pick up, so no information about the service. The two burgers were very bland and unstable. The buns were disproportionately large for the patty, not toasted and not that tasty. The cheeseburger had mushy lettuce on it and the cheese could only be tasted on a quarter of the burger due to the strange structure of the burger. The chicken burger had half a chicken breast, which didn't taste too fresh. However, you get a very large portion of fries with it. ColeSlaw was more of a German coleslaw. All in all rather disappointing when you get two burgers and fries for €36.

The portions are very large. Very large plate with a mountain of salad. I'll eat it tomorrow too, I had it packed up. Facilities beautifully decorated and staff extremely friendly and attentive.

I think I've eaten here 4 times so far. The food, especially the burgers and the garlic sauce, are to die for. Homemade delicious lemonades and a great ambience. The staff was super nice and competent 👍 Bringing children is no problem, whether with a baby (there is room for a stroller here) or a toddler, high chairs and a changing facility are available 👍 I'm happy to take a 1½ hour drive 😊 and will definitely come back!

I like the atmosphere here and the variety of sauces. The fried anything is also classic (onion rings, French fries etc). They offer plenty of choices of burgers which are normally good. Service team is friendly.

I really enjoy being a guest here. Classic American style diner. In summer you can also sit on the terrace here, the location is relatively quiet on the edge of the old town. The employees are always very friendly and accommodating. The food is always fresh and tasty and very plentiful. We also like to come on weekends for a late breakfast, which is served here until 2 p.m.

The restaurant is still simply great in American style. The service was good, the food was tasty and arrived quickly. The prices for the kids burgers are ok, even if they only serve cheeseburgers. In my opinion, almost 19 euros for a burger with a few more ingredients is way too much and woe betide you if you have a special request, then you pay a lot more (at least that's what it says in the menu, I decided not to try it) . Therefore only 3 stars even if everything else was really good.
