In my opinion Chok Dee is the best authentic Thai restaurant in Cologne! And I'm originally from Thailand. Very tasty food and good value for money. Highly recommended 👍🏼

I've tried it often enough but nothing comes close to Thai iced tea, whether pure, with lemon or with milk! Ps. Food is great too!

Food is excellent. You cant pay with card under 20e and if you give them more than the amount owed they don't give you the change back. It ruins a bit the experience

Quality has decreased significantly. Tom kha gai didn't taste like anything. With Pad Thai the chicken was completely dry. I won't get anything here anymore

Hallo an das Serviceteam und an den Koch wir waren gestern den 13.08.24 an unserem Hochzeitstag da gewesen und fanden es sehr schön dort und auch das Essen einfach fabelhaft. Grosses Kompliment von uns haben schon oft thailändisch gegessen aber das ist wirklich einfach original Thai . War sehr voll gewesen aber das spricht ja für sich weiterhin gutes Geschäft wir können euch nur weiter empfehlen.

I have really authentic Thai food here. Very spicy and very delicious. The dishes arrived a little slowly as the restaurant was very busy but the service was very accommodating. Unfortunately we didn't have time for photos.

Probably the worst service I have ever experienced! Ordered at 8:30 p.m. and asked 3 times when the food would come. They always say that it will be finished soon. At around 9:30 p.m. a waiter came and brought us papaya salad and asked us again what we ordered... hmm... He then said that Thod Man Gung didn't have them anymore. So you could also tell us earlier! The food arrived at 9:40 p.m., but we had already lost our appetite!!! I have never not given a tip! This store is the first!!!

DO NOT COME ON WEEKENDS. Service is abysmal as soon as more than two tables are filled. Waiters straight up ignored me and my partner. They told my partner to get out of the way and were very rude. After saying that outside everything is reserved and when we asked for tables inside they said go check ourselves. After sitting for a while the waiters still ignored us so we left again. Very disappointed as the last time we were there the food was decent. But it was less crowded. Even on the phone they are very rude and stressed.

Before sitting, I repeated 10 times that the food wait was very long. In conclusion, you shouldn't go out to eat on Sunday because the employees are very stressed. and bad manners towards customers Very rude, no service mindset at all.

This is my bad experience when I go to the store I heard one of my friends say that the food here was delicious so we went in to try it when we found a place I was very dissatisfied with the behavior of the staff because we ordered water and food but they worked very slowly. sehr leckeres rotes Thai-Curry mit Kokosmilch, freundliche Bedienung, kurze Wartezeiten trotz 12 Uhr mittags. Mein Kollege hat günes Curry vegetarisch, er war auch sehr zufrieden. Tip Mangosaft (kostet so viel wie eine Cola) mal was Anderes! Bei schönem Wetter kann man auch gut draussen sitzen...

The food actually quite good but the staff especially the old guy so unbelievably rude and unmotivated!in general the service also very slow..From ordering until settling the payments..terrible!

Waren mal wieder in Köln, Essen gehen. In uns bekannten Chok Dee. Wir waren sehr enttäuschend. Essen extrem Teuer, Essen mangelhaft und unaufmerksammes Personal. Ist dort ein anderes Kuchenpersonal? Lange Wartezeit auf das komplette Essen. Werde mir ein anderes Thai Restaurant suchen.

One star is way too many! Unfortunately we discovered that the food was inedible. Contrary to what was stated in the menu, the food was extremely spicy!!!! We were guests with 7 people. The time between the first and the last of us 7 guests to receive their food was 1 hour. Completely unacceptable! There was also chicken floating in the shrimp soup. Simply disgusting! The staff was completely overloaded and unmotivated. There's no way we're going there again!!!

Where can tomatoes, carrots, lychees as well as grapes and crispy fried duck be served more deliciously than in a Thai restaurant. And this worked particularly well in Chok Dee. The display of the level of spiciness for the individual dishes was good. My dish was easy to enjoy with two chili peppers (medium hot). My girlfriend and I sat outside. Thanks to several large umbrellas we were independent of the weather. The service was very good.

The food is great. Ambience is perfect in summer especially outdoor sitting! Staff is friendly and welcoming. Over weekends they have different prices, looks to me bit pricy for the quality you get. Overall the experience is okay! I don’t say it wonderful. But same prices you get better Asian food :)

Pad Thai was good but not great ☺️ Lots of bean sprouts...

Just ate today with the family. Previously we had good times there, so we decided to eat there again. Too bad, this time the service was so so so bad, the waitress made 2 mistakes, first we order appetizers the fried wantan, but she gave fried spring roll. The second time we ordered pad siew, and she served fried egg noodles… as I complained, rather being sorry for the mistake, she raised the voice to me. So RUDE…! As the dish came, it was tasteless 😭. My recommendation, DO NOT EAT THERE AT WEEKENDS. The staffs look stressful and could not serve properly.

Unfortunately I can't judge the food and I don't want to give any false information. But the prices there seem to be thrown randomly. I ordered food to pick up over the phone for a price of €11, which is what it was offered on the menu, but when I wanted to pick up the food I was asked for a much higher price without entering it into the cash register, which was by far outrageous is for the court.

Didn't taste good at all and was salty. Very disappointing and the service was spot on. No again

The service is pleasantly reserved - but always very attentive and friendly. We felt very comfortable. Restaurant has an (unheated) roof terrace - a bit small and stuffy inside, but overall clean. The toilets were perfect. The prices were reasonable. Parking garage is 3 minutes walk away. It was a great evening.

And at the end there is a lousy excuse about being understaffed... even though the tables were served after us. Drink price for Thai tea is also completely excessive for 0.3L €5... So if you don't want to spend the rest of the day annoyed, you should avoid this place.

Update. Discovered 2 human hairs in the food today. There have been complete changes in the team and menu since the beginning of the year. What happened to the cleanliness and hygiene? Two stars only because of the delicious dishes from 2021-2023 and the funny team at the time.

We were welcomed very friendly. Even though it was full and we didn't have a reservation, we weren't turned away. After about 10 minutes we were given the next free table. The food was fresh and delicious. It's small and cozy. When the weather is nice you can sit outside. Price/performance really top.

We were just visiting Cologne and had dinner here. Small restaurant, very busy. Service staff friendly. Food outstanding. The best sweet and sour duck I've eaten in ages. The family's food was also of a similarly high standard. Be careful: Spicy also means spicy here. ^^ It's unfortunate that Cologne is so far away...

Wenn das Essen gut geschmeckt hätte garkein Problem, doch dafür so viel Geld zu verlangen ist frech. Sehr fettig, kaum Gemüse, lieblos, da gibt es Dutzende leckerere und günstigere Angebote in Köln! Die Reaktion auf das Feedback war leider sehr Bescheiden, ein Entschuldigung ist zu viel für viele Leute. War definitiv das letzte mal, so eine Geldverschwendung!!!

Unfortunately the beef was fried in sweet and sour sauce (around 15 euros) or something like that. At least it tasted like old frying fat and was unfortunately no longer edible. Half of the serving plate was occupied by a rose carved from beetroot, so there wasn't actually much space left for the actual food. The service was a bit very laissez fair and quite uninterested. The ambience is towards a restaurant - but feels more like a snack bar - the tables at the entrance door are not recommended in the cooler season, as the door is often left open and the kitchen staff often go out to smoke - and of course guests come and go. This makes it quite drafty and quickly becomes uncomfortable.

Best Thai restaurant in Cologne

The two of us spontaneously went to this restaurant because we were nearby. Even though it was very full, we managed to get a table. We had a starter plate for two people and two main courses. We both enjoyed it and would eat there again anytime we were in the area.

Unfortunately nothing was spicy. I meant please original like Thai. In addition, there was spicy paste that wasn't really spicy. Only 5 pieces of shrimp were seen. Rice wasn't that tasty either. Thais came who were probably there regularly and therefore settled there. Rosé was nothing special. I know far better restaurants there. A pity. But on the positive side, they were very nice, a little problematic with communication, but nice.

I had a really bad first experience here last night. Nothing in the food suited my taste. Food and service in Düsseldorf are very different. And I think the staff intentionally gave me a different dish when I didn't order it. And when I finally paid, the staff deliberately didn't give me my money back. I don't want to argue, so it will be the first and last time I come. Never coming back 🙃

The food is very good, that's why we still go here. But the bill is often too high! Today I didn't notice and paid €31 instead of €25.50. A surcharge of 20%(!). The same thing has happened many times with my husband.

Normally I never leave negative reviews, but in this case I find it absolutely necessary. The price-performance ratio is not right at all. The food is mediocre. In my opinion, the rest is not worthy of a visit: bad atmosphere (tables crowded together, loud and uncomfortable) and the entire staff was unfriendly and characterized by unprofessionalism from start to finish! The food is literally slammed onto the table somewhere and there is no exchange with the guests. I have experienced many restaurants (even not so good ones). But you can't beat this bad experience!

Gutes thailändisches Restaurant, sehr zentral gelegen. Äußerst reichhaltige Speisekarte. Das Essen schmeckt uns immer. Die Preise sind mehr als fair. Das Ambiente stimmt ebenfalls. Besonders schön ist es an warmen Tagen draußen im Biergarten. Ich kann das Restaurant bedenkenlos weiterempfehlen.

Ein wirklich tolles authentisches Thai Restaurant mit fabelhaftem Essen. Die Bedienung war schnell, Aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Das Essen hat genau unseren Gaumen getroffen. Ich empfehle die Rindfleischsuppe oder den Papaya Salat als Vorspeise.

Am Sonntag war ich im Restaurant und sie gaben mir eine blütenförmige Rote Bete auf meinen Teller. Diese Blume hat gestunken, sie war in einem schlechten Zustand und als ich ihnen davon erzählte, sagten sie nur OK. Zumindest eine Entschuldigung.
