Choclet in Ulm

The ambiance is great, but when you're not even greeted as a guest, or are ignored, the mood unfortunately deteriorates. You expect a bit of professionalism, especially from the front of house staff. A hello/goodbye is perfectly sufficient. It's a shame.

We spontaneously went there for dinner. It was open seating, and at 5:30 p.m. it was still relatively empty. The service was very friendly. The restaurant is very clean and beautifully decorated. The food arrived within 15 minutes. I had the Chocolate Burger and my companion had the Crunchy Chicken Burger. It was really delicious. The sauces on it were amazing. The dips also went very well with the side dishes. All in all, a really good value for money.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A thoroughly successful evening at Choclet Ulm! We were at Choclet in Ulm last night and were absolutely thrilled. The burgers were fresh, juicy, and perfectly prepared, the fries were crispy, and the side salad was colorful, crisp, and delicious. My cheese spaetzle was creamy, cheesy, and just the way you want it, with fried onions on top, simply a dream. The cocktails were also delicious and perfectly mixed. The service was friendly, attentive, and created a relaxed atmosphere. Drinks and food arrived quickly, and the portions were more than generous. A fantastic evening with delicious food, great drinks, and a cozy atmosphere—we'll definitely be back!

Very friendly staff, nice place to sit, highly recommended!

I was there for brunch with my girlfriend today. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. The egg smelled bad when it was served, and the sausage didn't seem fresh either. After the meal, I felt very unwell. Our latte macchiato with ice cubes was served without ice cubes, even though we had specifically requested it and it was clearly explained. The place wasn't busy, but the service was inattentive and slow. Overall, unfortunately, it wasn't a positive experience. For breakfast, I'd recommend Mery's in Ulm or Café Einstein.

Of course, it can happen that the food in a restaurant isn't good, but unfortunately, nothing was perfect here. We'd barely ordered when the food arrived, and unfortunately, it tasted exactly like that: unloving, disappointing in quality, and simply not good in taste. While it wasn't our first visit, it was certainly our last.

The Limoncello Spritz was simply water with ice cubes. Not even tinted yellow. As colorful as water.

We had a wonderful meal on the terrace; it was a really lovely atmosphere right on the Danube. The service took a long time and was slightly unmotivated. I find the fancy dishes, which are labeled "0.0," much worse; they're definitely not for allergy sufferers. For example, the herbs and seeds in the burger bun.

Great food, great drinks, great service, great terrace. Probably will go back again tomorrow. Much better option than other places we saw and with lots of vegetarian options, which was huge for our daughter.

Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The staff is barely present, and you wait forever before you're even noticed—both when ordering and paying. The service seems disorganized and overwhelmed, which unfortunately makes the visit very unpleasant. It's a shame, because the concept and the products actually have potential.

If ambiance were awarded 6 stars, it would apply here as well. Very nice view of the Danube, delicious food, by the way. Also a very tasty breakfast.

I've probably never eaten such a delicious Niçoise salad before. The smoothie and chocolate cake were also delicious. Our waitress was very attentive and super friendly from start to finish. It was extremely hot in Ulm on Saturday, and her first attention after greeting us was our dog, who she immediately offered a bowl of water. If we're ever in your area again, we'll definitely come back. :)

My husband and I arrived 20 minutes before 10:00 PM (you can order food until 10:00 PM). No one served us for 20 minutes. At exactly 10:00 PM, someone came. I would understand if it was busy, but there was no one inside; only the terrace was full.

Cool location. I had a Rhodes salad. Absolutely delicious. Great staff. A bit chaotic at first glance. But organized and focused on the guests.

It's outrageous. They tell us to wait for a seat. Others just sit down. And then they tell us they have to go and find it themselves. Unacceptable! I wouldn't recommend it! What a shame...

Great spot in the city centre. We were here for a breakfast and I can understand if the place is full, there will be some delays and we waited for the food for cca 25 minutes. However the service in general was rather slow, even when there were fewer people. But the food was great, portion was big, brezel was warm and soft, weisswurst great. Also the beverages were nice and stylish. Would definitely come back for the food and drinks, the service should be faster.

One of the favorite breakfast places in Ulm. They have a beautiful terrace where you can eat your breakfast while viewing the Donau. For breakfast they have plenty of choices for everyone to choose. From English style menus to Swabian ones. I can also recommend this place for dinners etc. A cozy place to come enjoy some food.

Food was good but the service was terrible. Waited 20 minutes for you to pay. I was told 4 times you wanted to pay. I kept walking past and as a service manager, I paid a little more attention to the guests and didn't walk past the guests without asking

Been there several times. The food and ambience are good, but the food is not served at the same time. Two people got their burgers 15 minutes before the other two.

In the morning we sat outside almost at the city wall with a view of the Danube. Because we were so early we were able to enjoy the sun and the delicious breakfast in peace.

Staff and ambience don't make up for a bad breakfast. We had breakfast for two. It was nicely prepared, but if the fruit, vegetables, sausage and cheese have edges or are dry... that has nothing to do with fresh. The latte only tasted like a water/milk mixture... ...so actually not even 1 star for the food.

The food is plentiful, there's a lot of different things on offer depending on the day, the taste is average, only the location and the terrace are a plus, the staff is nice but not particularly competent, the place is absolutely avoidable if you don't get a table with a view of the Danube. But drinking coffee is definitely possible.

I actually come to eat regularly, but after this time I'm really disappointed. The service was terrible. The waiter with slightly longer hair and glasses should not be employed in service. Not only was he super rude and ignorant, but also very hectic and impatient on a busy day. You would normally expect more from such a central and well-known restaurant.

Best breakfast ever! Lovingly prepared, great quality and varied. The menu includes a drink, which more than justifies the price. Service was very friendly and accommodating. What was striking was the great management, everything was stylish and clean. You can change ingredients on the menu, it's easy to accommodate, and great service! Our small dog was also welcome, but with larger ones it might be a bit tight as the tables are already cramped. Reservation would be good!

Nichtsdestotrotz setzten wir uns und bestellten beide Kaffee, der war auch soweit in Ordnung. In der ganzen Zeit kam kein Kellner mehr an unseren Tisch. Wirklich schlecht fand ich den Service dann als folgende Situation sich abspielte: Ein (anderer) Kellner kommt an unseren Tisch und fragt: „Darf ich euch schon abkassieren?" Ich wollte eigentlich nochmal etwas bestellen und meine Freundin hatte ihren Kaffee noch nicht ausgetrunken. Mir wurde im Service beigebracht dass man zuerst fragt ob die Gäste noch etwas möchten... anscheinend hier nicht so. Jedenfalls sagte ich ihm dass ich eigentlich noch etwas bestellen wollte aber wir gern direkt zahlen. It all started when we entered the café and my friend met one of the waiters (friendly!!). asked "Do you still have a table for the two of us?" his answer was "Only if you please say!" I didn't think that was appropriate. I have experience in gastronomy myself and have never had a guest ask me “Do you have another table please?” ', I found her question to be friendly and quite normal. Nevertheless, we sat down and both ordered coffee, which was fine. During the entire time, no waiter came to our table. I found the service really bad when the following situation occurred: A (different) waiter comes to our table and asks: "Can I cash in on you already?" I actually wanted to order something again and my friend hadn't finished her coffee yet. I was taught in service that you first ask if the guests would like anything else... apparently not the case here. Anyway, I told him that I actually wanted to order something but we would like to pay directly. He replied, "Oh man, such bad service." - I paid and we moved on to another café with friendlier service and just as good coffee :)

Very cool restaurant with friendly service and delicious food. We ate burgers which are definitely recommended.

We go here regularly now. The food, especially their Burgers, always taste delicious and it's always the same. The service is always friendly and the vibe is very chilled. They also have set menus for each season to change up their selection as well as days were drinks or their burgers are on special. We are happy with the service and food and will keep on going back.

Great service, even when it's stressful!

After waiting half an hour, none of the service staff came to our table. We just wanted to get up and leave and complained, no apology, nothing, there is the door, they just said..!!! I'll never set foot in there again. The staff should be trained in hospitality and especially the lady who was there at lunchtime today....!!!!!!!! Not recommended, it used to be better, there are better cafes in ULM.. It's a shame the staff can ruin everything!!!!

Order still not taken after almost 40 minutes. Asked twice if we could order. Then we got up and wanted to leave. Instead of the waitress apologizing and trying to make amends, she just said: why should I apologize? If you don't like it, there's the door! Hospitality is probably not very important here! Service staff only serve their own people! Please train staff urgently. Too bad!

Very tasty and can only be recommended

Sitting comfortably together, having a good breakfast, you can definitely do that here. Everything was super tasty. What I thought was really nice was that the birthday guest got a muffin with a candle and Happy Birthday came out of the loudspeaker. That was so very sweet.

Today only two Chocolet Black and an espresso, but what is served at the tables left and right looks very tasty without exception! Very fast, friendly service. We'll definitely be back.

A good insider tip there you can drink very good coffee and other specialties, very good food, a great schnitzel and also the turkey steaks in herb butter, simply delicious, good drinks and much more. In the summer there would be an evening on the terrace with a view of the Danube, a wine and a delicious baguette Certainly a delicious change to enjoy the evening. But as I said, everything was super nice during the day, the staff was clean, the toilets were nice, the atmosphere was nice and the prices were still moderate. I would highly recommend it.

Sometimes you're lucky and get a table, sometimes you don't even though there are tables available. You are turned away at the door with no explanation other than “it’s getting too crowded!” hmm… The waiter asks for the customer’s Instagram name. I've never experienced anything like this before. Paying is also becoming more and more difficult because people don't pay attention to you or a waitress says "I'm coming soon!" and then there's no trace of this or that person for 10 minutes. I don't enjoy coming here as much as I used to, it's a shame.

The service person probably didn't feel like working today and was very rude and anything but attentive. We would have to pay attention three times. I was recently at the restaurant and, as always, was impressed by the cozy atmosphere and the well-prepared drinks. Unfortunately, the enjoyment was marred by a massive fruit fly problem. There were little flies buzzing around everywhere, which even found themselves in the food - in the burger, on the salad and potatoes, even in the drinks. When we asked the staff about it, we were offered to replace the food, but we declined because the problem existed everywhere in the restaurant and nothing had changed. Even the toilets were affected. Unfortunately, the beautiful ambience couldn't save the evening.

Were there a few days ago, service was quick and we were treated really well. The food didn't take long and tasted good too. Prices are okay, justified. The selection is also great. Unfortunately, we quickly noticed how many fruit flies were buzzing around there. We were told that someone had forgotten their fruit there. It definitely bothered us a lot because they ended up in the food and drinks. But otherwise, a good restaurant.

Very unfriendly service employee and the blonde who used to be there often but currently the new staff are very unfriendly... in this case I would terminate the staff immediately. The owner loses even more customers. Never come again.

Hello , Last night I had dinner at Choclet. Everything tasted great. But the waitress (I think her name was Danay) was very rude. She can't handle customers. I mean, the girl didn't feel like working, it was obvious that it made me feel very uncomfortable as a customer. Otherwise I found everything very pleasant. Maybe a little more brightness in the restaurant but otherwise everything was great.

Delicious breakfast options also for vegans. You can also put together many smaller snacks individually, which makes things even easier. I can't say anything about the vegan options at lunch/dinner time. The service was very courteous and helpful.

hab heute mit etwas kleingeld gezahlt&nicht so viel trinkgeld dagelassen. daraufhin hat der kellner mehrmals gefragt, ob das denn mein ernst sei & dass er sich davon nicht mal ein eis kaufen könne. als ich dann meinte er sei undankbar und solle mir doch das trinkgeld zurückgeben, wenn er es ja nicht haben möchte, meinte er plötzlich dass es doch nur ein witz gewesen sei. das glaube ich kaum! und wenn, sollte man in dem erwachsenenalter doch noch witze von respektlosigkeit unterscheiden können! ich hoffe du liest das

Cozy and chic furnishings, friendly staff, would be happy to come back

It was a lot o wasps, I have eaten Choclet burger, meat and bun was dry, generaly bad. Side potatos was good. Friedn had eaten fried chicken steak, at first it was completely raw, but net waiter, was give her new.

We ordered the tomato soup twice (not for the first time), it was inedible today - it didn't taste like tomatoes and was cold. When we then complained about this and when we asked if we couldn't help the guest with the bill, they said: it's our problem if we don't like the food. After I made it clear to the waitress with the pink hair that it has nothing to do with personal taste when you get a smoky, cold soup, she tried it herself and found it bad. End of story: we still had to pay the entire bill and received €1.5 per person as “compensation”. Poor performance if you describe the food as bad and then make the guest pay anyway.

Lugar aconchegante com comida gostosa e ótimo atendimento. Cardápio variado. Tem mesas fora que tem uma vista legal. Vale a pena a visita.

A pure disaster.! I have never experienced such poor service in my life. We wanted to order something and didn't know or couldn't pronounce the names of the food exactly and the waiter, even though he actually understood us, made fun of us and acted as if he didn't understand. We then wanted ashtrays, which didn't arrive until after we said it 3/4 times, and then I wanted to order a vrap without tomatoes, he said it was fine, a few minutes later he came and said you can't take the tomatoes out, which I don't understand at all is the vrap then a finished dish? Very unfriendly, talk very listlessly and you can just tell that they don't want to work, never come here again, just rubbish. The table will be cleared very later.

Eating is not recommended. Most of it is ready-made from wholesalers, which would be okay if you prepared it correctly. Turkey schnitzel is probably prepared half thawed, which is why both schnitzels were still raw in the middle.

This has become our favorite restaurant in Ulm during our few days on vacation. Nice terrace, friendly but unobtrusive service. Good, fresh and beautifully served food. Price reasonable (neither cheap nor expensive)

If you go to Ulm, brunch is highly recommended.

As a regular guest at Choclet, I can say with full confidence that Antonio, the service manager, is the heart and soul of the restaurant. From the moment you walk through the door, you can feel his passion for superior service and his dedication to providing each guest with an unforgettable experience.
