Pros: Service was good. She was very polite and kind. Didn't take long to get my food. Prices were fair Cons: The food was OK. The sauce was great but the chicken was disappointing. Not the Korean chicken i was expecting. Sadly, not an experience I would repeat.

Don't come to this restaurant, you will not miss anything. The color of the fried chicken was damn dark, apparently, the fried chicken was cooked a few days ago before they were put on your table. The owner of the restaurant should have already been changed, not the original one anymore, which is why there are still some good reviews that should be given to the former owner instead of the current one running the restaurant.

Excerpt from the Hessen Consumer Information Center: General operation: Due to serious hygiene deficiencies, including pest infestations (mice, rats, and houseflies), the preparation and distribution of food was prohibited. Counter: The room was not in good hygienic condition overall, requiring a thorough cleaning of all equipment and surfaces. Contaminated areas included the wheels of the clearing cart, the interior of the beverage cooler, and the door catches of the beverage coolers. In addition, several electrical installations, such as light switches, outlets, cables, and wires, were affected. The ceiling fan, the door edges of the glasswasher, and the base of the double sink were also contaminated. Furthermore, the location of the ice scoop was unsuitable, so contamination of the scoop and thus the ice could not be completely ruled out. Additionally, a rodent infestation was detected, including rodent droppings in the sink cabinet, which exposed the food being produced, processed, and marketed to a risk of contamination. A significant infestation of houseflies was also observed, further increasing the risk of food contamination.

Violations of food regulations—no wonder rats scurried past my girlfriend's and my feet. When this was pointed out, there was nothing but astonishment. Afterward, the store was avoided. Whether the kitchen looks better now, I can only wish everyone who visits the store the best. It's outrageous.

the tablet attached to every table is really nice and efficient for ordering. i ordered tteokbokki and the sauce was good but it felt like the ratio of rice cakes to sauce wasn’t quite right. the staff were super friendly, though.

Not even close to real Korean chicken, very disappointing I was excited to try this place since they claim to serve “Korean chicken,” but honestly, it’s nowhere near Korean fired chicken . The chicken was extremely tough and lacked the flavor and texture you’d expect from real Korean fried chicken. If you’ve ever had proper Korean chicken before, you’ll notice right away that this is just an imitation. Looking back, I should’ve noticed that there wasn’t a single review from an actual Korean customer — that probably says a lot. It feels like they already knew it wasn’t the real deal.

The food arrived quickly, but the chicken we ordered with cheese turned out to be dusty. The other chicken we ordered wasn't very spicy, even though we asked for extra spicy, but we still liked it. Update: We got food poisoning this evening. Don't come!!

I went here last Friday and can't believe that this place has an average 4.3 rating. It's likely because most people who have given good ratings don't know what good Korean fried chicken tastes like. First of all, starting with the chicken. We ordered 4 different types. 3 out of the 4 were pretty much the same, dry chicken with the sauce sitting at the bottom. In other words, it was not coated at all. When I mentioned this to two waiters, they simply said that's how it is. For anyone who knows how flavourful Korean fried chicken is, you would know that the chicken is always well-coated and does not sit at the bottom. There is a reason there are no Koreans who go here because once they try, they wouldn't come back. At this stage, this restaurant doesn't even have the right to say they are a korean restaurant. They also don't even serve 치킨무, which is a basic side dish you eat with any fried chicken. A place to avoid.

The restaurant was busy in the evening. The decor is minimalist, and there's both indoor and outdoor seating. The seating is very plain – not much has been done with it. I ordered the Yangnyum Chicken without peanuts. The chicken was okay, well marinated. However, the food arrived almost cold – it was only lukewarm, if at all, which was a shame, as it would have definitely tasted better fresh and warm. The coleslaw on the side was delicious. What bothered me was that after leaving the restaurant, there was a strong smell of grease and chicken. The smell really got into your clothes – there's not much you can do about it, of course, but it's still not pleasant.

Wow amazing Korean food! Their speciality fried chicken is out of this world. Portions are huge, so a medium portion is plenty enough for one person, even two people. Would go again.

For me, Chiking City is a good place for fried chicken. The food was very tasty, and the spicy yang nyum sauce is quite spicy, and it's not just a by-the-book thing. However, this sauce doesn't have the most delicious aftertaste for me; I would prefer a gochujang base.

I simply can't praise this place enough! The portions are quite generous—I actually thought they were going to give us small plates... but that wasn't the case. Unfortunately, the food was so delicious, I didn't take any pictures. Nutritionally speaking: very suitable for those days when you've had a lot to do—trade fairs, museum visits, etc. Or simply when you've been drinking a lot and could use another soju 😁 Taste-wise: authentically Korean—you don't really need to know anything more; go there and try the food for yourself. And the soju, of course. Totally worth it.

I had yangnyeom chicken here for lunch But the crispy coating was really really hard, was hard to chew actually. And i thought they fried chicken earlier, and fried again before serving. Because they served the chicken in 5-7mins after got ordering! This doesn't make sense. As you can see the coating looks dark. I don't recommend here for chicken. I'd rather pay and go other authentic chicken places.

The fried chicken is quite big and the chicken is fried well. It is not as delicious as expected but it is worth the price. You don't need to go here specially to eat it, but if you live nearby, it is worth it for a quick meal.

New owners — inedible. This used to be the best place to grab chicken in Frankfurt. Their chicken tastes like their hygiene inspection, it fell short of all standards. The report you can find at “VerbraucherFenster Hessen”, it was so devastating that the officials forced the ‘restaurant’ to shut down temporarily.

The service is super friendly and the food is delicious. We got a small coleslaw on the house and ordered two medium portions of chicken. I especially recommend the one with peanuts! It was more than enough for two people! We didn't take everything and had the rest packed for us; I think a large portion is enough. With a coleslaw, a coleslaw, and two Cokes, we ended up paying €41.90, which I think is very fair.

Nowadays, people eat almost exclusively breading and crust, and very little chicken. Things were different in the past. We checked this the last few times and were disappointed.

It was tasty, and you get a decent amount. Medium-spicy, but it's still a little spicy, and I can handle a lot. Choose carefully. The sides were inexpensive and good. We had 2 chicken dishes, 2 rice dishes, 1 fries dish, and a drink for €40 in total. It's good value for money.

I don’t live in Germany, but it’s my go to place whenever I visit Frankfurt. The staff are super friendly and Jackie is so sweet. The food is my ultimate favorite. A must visit!

We tried all the chickens on the menu, our favorite was the one with green onion and soy sauce 👌😋 the one with peanuts and hot sauce was also delicious.

It's not a place run by Koreans, and it's a far cry from other branches.

Came here on recommendation from a friend. If it weren’t for that, I would have left as soon as I entered. The entire floor was slick from cooking grease; it was a legitimate safety hazard. Some of the tables were also covered in a film of grease. This wouldn’t be the case if professional cleaning chemicals are used on a regular basis. I couldn’t help but glance at the kitchen from my seat. The cook had a slovenly appearance. He was touching his face, his phone and I assume also the food. I really wanted to leave at this point. The music was obnoxiously loud. It seemed the cook was also the DJ. Many German restaurants seem to have no control over the music that is played. It’s one employee who plays what he wants to hear, with no concern for the majority of guests. The chicken came very fast, and the table service was kind and professional. We were a big group, ordered #1-3. The spicy was everyone’s favorite. Alas, later that evening I had explosive diarrhea. I eat spicy food all the time. Something else was wrong with this chicken. Never again.

ATTENTION MICE!!! Live mice crawl around the feet of guests while they eat! The sight of them made me sick! When I pointed this out to the staff, there was neither understanding nor an apology. The short, blond waiter simply said, "Shut up! You still have to pay for the food." A SHAME FOR EVERY RESTAURANT!!

Food is, of course, a matter of taste. But from a "craftsmanship" perspective, the breading isn't good – my jaw hurts from eating it. 2. I feel like I only ate breading and very little meat. 3. If you want really good Korean chicken, go to Malamania. They have decent sauces. The sauces here are either just oil or water – you can do better. And please stop hyping things up unnecessarily, thank you.

Worst chicken shop I've ever been to. You can clearly see and taste that it's frozen, and the meat was still cold inside. Our complaint wasn't taken seriously, and I paid €35 for it!

It was difficult to find because they've moved, but the food there is definitely a 10/10!! This is our new favorite fried chicken restaurant!!! I have to admit, though, that it's a bit more expensive than expected.

The food was super delicious and there was plenty of it. We took some home with us. Unfortunately, the blond employee poured the sauces into the boxes. Not a problem for the sweet & spicy sauce. Unfortunately, the chicken with soy sauce spilled so much that it all ran out of the cardboard box into the bag. It was only a matter of time before it started dripping out. Maybe next time, don't pour in all the sauce.

I went here yesterday with a colleague for Korean food – unfortunately, we weren't impressed. We had the fried chicken, which unfortunately wasn't warm enough or tasted fresh. The chicken had a slightly strange taste, almost as if it had been reheated. For a dish that's usually served crispy and hot, that was quite disappointing. The service was okay, but the food unfortunately didn't make the visit worthwhile.

DON'T GO!!!!!!! After eating there, I felt completely nauseous that evening. That same night, I vomited over 10 times. I almost ended up in the hospital. The worst case of food poisoning I've ever had in my life. The health department should definitely keep an eye on this.

Awesome place! - BBQ chicken out of this world.

ChiKing offers a wide selection of Korean fried chicken. We tried the garlic soy chicken and the yangnyum chicken. Both tasted okay, but unfortunately, they couldn't compare to authentic Korean fried chicken. The pickled radish deserves special mention. It was really good! The tteokbokki, on the other hand, were rather mediocre. The prices are generally a bit high, so if you're looking to save money, you might want to opt for the lunch special. The ambiance is simple and more reminiscent of a classic fast-food joint. The service was fast, but the language skills were a bit limited at times.

It's a below average fried chicken. Only their special item is near to good. Too much saucy flavour.

The food was tasty and good. They deli ered it quite fast given the number of guests sitting at that time. Chicken was halal certified as posted also on their wall.

I always came here to eat very well and I also recommend friends to eat here. I was very disappointed the last few times. Maybe it was because they fried the chicken for too long or they re-fried the leftovers. The fried chicken was very hard and tasted bad. It's a pity. I hope it can return to its original taste.

Absolutely none of the food was fresh... We were there as a group at lunch and were totally disappointed. Firstly, our glasses weren't clean... You could still see lipstick residue from the previous customer. Among other things, everything was served lukewarm. However, nothing topped the chicken. It literally tasted rotten; I think we were served old, bad chicken. We won't be coming back here.

I visited this place with my friends because we all enjoy fried chicken, but unfortunately, it didn’t meet our expectations. The service and atmosphere were decent, but the food was disappointing. The chicken was a bit dry and had an oily aftertaste, and the fries were also overly greasy. Overall, I didn’t enjoy the food, but thanks to the good service and pleasant atmosphere, I’d rate it 4 out of 5.

The chicken was small and dry. The frozen fries and coleslaw from Aldi were completely unseasoned. The salad was unwashed and gritty with bad dressing. Soju is cheaper than at any other store, and this place is definitely a good place to drink. But eating out has become increasingly expensive everywhere anyway, so it's unfair to sell 70% of Aldi frozen food that's poorly prepared. There are much better alternatives for chicken in Frankfurt.

Don't be fooled by the pictures, the food was not only tasteless, but also the garbage part of the chicken. I can confidently say that KFC is 10x better in taste and quality.

Insanely delicious Korean fried chicken! The best I've ever eaten.

I've had diarrhea since eating there (two days ago), and it's not just me. The other people I ate with have the same problem. Furthermore, the service lacks the competence to provide simple service or communicate with customers. I will never eat there again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The food is delicious and we ordered a bit more, but I noticed that the chicken was spoiled. I ate a few pieces and, when I took a bite of a larger piece, I noticed that it was black with a slight green tinge. When we asked the waiter why it was black, he ultimately just said that the kitchen didn't know why the chicken looked that way. I opened several pieces and saw it in several of them. So I wouldn't recommend this place anymore, especially because many people come here with their children and then they get spoiled meat that was simply fried so it wasn't noticeable. It's a disgrace that they act like they have no idea why it's black and then make us pay full price. If you want clean, fresh food where you won't get food poisoning, don't go here.

I haven't eaten this well in a long time! Drinks came after a minute, then we thought, "Okay, let's just wait 10 minutes for our food until everything is ready," because there were three of us. Our food was ready after two minutes. The server was super nice, it was very, very tasty (one large pan fed three people), and the price was completely reasonable. Even if I weren't from Bielefeld, I'd come back again in a heartbeat. I got a little emotional while eating it, it was so good.

Unfortunately, we fell for the TikTok hype. The fried chicken consists of at least 70% breading and 30% meat, and there's no meat in any of the bites. This is, of course, also a way to cut costs. The smallest size, "Medium," is WAY too big; there should definitely be smaller sizes so you can try other varieties... The coleslaw is quite sweet and sour, but that was a good thing considering all the breadcrumbs on the chicken. The service and ambiance are also just "not bad," nothing more. Unfortunately, a disappointment; I don't recommend it. PS: Our entire meal was ready in under 3 minutes. It looked good at first glance, but very worrying at second glance.

I recently went to Chicking in Frankfurt with a large group and I'm absolutely thrilled! The food was amazing – the meat was juicy and arrived perfectly warm. The sauces were also delicious, and there was a wide selection. Everything worked out wonderfully, even with a larger group. The staff had everything under control. And even though it was quite busy, we hardly had to wait, as everything arrived very quickly. The prices are also absolutely reasonable, which makes it even better. I can wholeheartedly recommend Chicking in Frankfurt and will definitely be back!

The food is super delicious. It's good value for money, and the portions are definitely filling. The surroundings in front of the restaurant take some getting used to, as there are a lot of junkies and beggars. Unfortunately, the owner has no control over this; the city of Frankfurt needs to do something about it.

As a lover of good Chicken, I do have to say that ChiKing City has become one of my go to places to drop in any time and have some delicious chicken😋 It's just no fuss, well-made, great food and well worth a visit. Funny enough my first visit was all the way back in 2023, and just as I enjoyed it then, I have been enjoying it until now.⭐ My favorites on the menu are the Green Onion Soy, Snow Cheese and Yangnyum Chicken. My go to dishes everytime I visit! With regards to service, the speed of service is always quite impressive. I don't think there has ever been a time where I have waited for more than 25 minutes for the food to come. The staff are very welcoming and accommodating so there has never been any issues there. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, so there is no need to think about dress code or anything as you can go as you are. It's a great spot to just sit down with company, chat and eat. There is both indoor and outdoor seating and it can get pretty busy at times, but for the most part, I've always found a place to sit. I have also never needed to book in advance, so that's also been a plus. All in all, a clear recommendation and a spot to try at least once for everyone who likes / is interested in Korean fried chicken.  🍗😋

It was very disappointing! Each dish was at least 70% breading and very little chicken. The flavor was basically nonexistent. The sauce just floated to the bottom, but the chicken pieces weren't coated in it beforehand or anything like that. Accordingly, none of it touched the chicken. The chicken pieces felt like they had been deep-fried at least 10 times. So, a complete waste of money.

Delicious food, but a bit pricey. Chicken with a completely different twist. I had a long drive, and it wasn't really worth it.

Food is good. The place may get over crowded during peak hours. The experience we didn’t like is: they kept coleslaw at our table along with plates and cutleries and then added that it to our bill which we never ordered.

Two years ago, I ate here with a couple of friends and we absolutely loved the fried chicken here. It had that authentic, crispy bite and rich flavor that reminded us of the Korean fried chicken we used to enjoy back in Asia. But when I revisited the place again with my sister yesterday, we were so disappointed to see that the quality has changed. The sauce, the meat, the crust—everything tasted different. Maybe they switched up their ingredients or had a change in management—not sure—and unfortunately, it shows. Such a shame, though, because we really liked the fried chicken here and used to rave about it all the time. Food was still served promptly despite the full house.

Unfortunately it wasn't good, I had high hopes and often heard good things but unfortunately it wasn't. The food is ok but not something that I would go there again. The service was terrible they were very unfriendly and not welcome at all. You couldn't wash your hands in the toilets and had the decency to offer something like water to wash your hands. They were asked to eat with unwashed hands, which was really blatant and they didn't care about the customers' wishes at all and behaved as if they were just annoying and bothering them, which is absolutely not appropriate in a renowned restaurant. The atmosphere is like that of a kebab shop. Nothing bad but nothing special either. Overall, I would say that I cannot recommend this place and I would rather just recommend eating kebab or pizza.

Warning to everyone – an absolute failure at Chiking City Frankfurt! Our visit to Chiking City was an absolute disaster and I can only strongly advise anyone not to enter this store. We had to wait over an hour and a half for our food - with no apology, no information. The staff was extremely unfriendly, annoyed and completely overwhelmed. When the food finally came, the next shock: everything tasted terrible! The food was dripping with fat and smelled and tasted distinctly of old, rancid frying oil. Just disgusting. It was barely edible and smelled so unpleasant that you lost your appetite. But that's not all: a few hours after eating we had massive stomach cramps and nausea - clear signs of food poisoning. Something like that doesn't work! Hygiene seems to be an absolute foreign word in this store. Conclusion: Unfriendly staff, long waiting times, inedible and probably health-endangering food. I can only hope that the health department inspects this store soon. One thing is certain for us: never again Chiking City!
