Einfach köstlich! Ich komme aus dem Südwesten der USA und das hier ist authentisches mexikanisches Essen. Wir waren übers Wochenende in Trier zu Besuch und haben dieses Restaurant entdeckt! Wir haben uns riesig gefreut, endlich wieder mexikanisch essen zu können, und wurden nicht enttäuscht! Leider gibt es keine Fotos vom Essen, weil wir es so schnell aufgegessen haben. Die Margaritas und Biere waren perfekt und die Bedienung war wunderbar. Reservieren Sie am besten vorher, da es dort oft voll wird. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Die besten Burritos weit und breit. Immer freundliches Personal. Da das Lokal sehr klein ist, ist es manchmal schwer, einen Tisch zu bekommen. Also besser früh hingehen.

Ein nettes, kleines Restaurant mit gemütlichem Ambiente. Wir hatten einen vegetarischen und einen veganen Burrito, die uns geschmacklich vollkommen überzeugt haben, zum Nachtisch gab es eine kleine Portion Churros. Der Service ist sehr freundlich. Wir würden wiederkommen. Gut zu wissen: Kartenzahlung ist nicht möglich.

Sehr leckeres und vor allem authentisches Essen. Der Surf-&-Turf-Burrito sowie die Cauliflower Bowl sind meine Highlights, aber es geht NICHTS über die Kuchen! Die Kuchen – Halleluja – sind wirklich nicht von dieser Welt. Vor allem der Peanut Butter Pie sowie der Carrot Cake sind einfach anders gut.

Wir sind extra aus Spanien 🇪🇸 angereist, um endlich mal richtig gutes mexikanisches Essen zu probieren. Und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht! Leider gibt es keine Fotos vom Essen, weil wir es so schnell verputzt haben. Meine Kinder waren begeistert. Die Getränke waren super. Tolle Atmosphäre. Ich freue mich schon auf den nächsten Besuch!

During my business trip to Trier, I was craving Mexican food, specifically tacos. After a quick search, I found the Chicano restaurant. I really enjoyed the tacos, but I missed the salsa (Chipotle), etc. The staff was very friendly. I was shocked when I wanted to pay because they only accepted cash. Since it was a business lunch, I couldn't pay with my business card. A complete no-go. Too bad, because the next day I wanted to bring my colleagues and have dinner. We found another place where there were no problems with payment.

The food was so small, you could literally eat it five times, even though I don't eat much anymore. It was really, really, really expensive, really overpriced for the amount. The taste was okay, but for that price, it would never happen. And then I waited 40 minutes for the food. In the end, I even had to run to the bank because they didn't accept card payments. Wow!

We went to CHICANO for Taco Tuesday on a Tuesday – without a reservation. The restaurant is small and cozy, with limited seating, so it's definitely worth arriving early or making a reservation in advance. The menu offers a manageable but very authentic selection of Mexican dishes such as burritos, tacos, and accompanying side dishes. Everything is freshly prepared, the quality is top-notch, and the taste is absolutely convincing – you almost feel like you're in Southern California. I would especially like to highlight the tacos, which were simply delicious. The desserts are also a highlight – we tried the churros and were delighted. The service is extremely friendly and attentive; you can immediately tell that the well-being of the guests is important here. In conclusion: An all-around successful concept with authentic, fresh food and warm service. Highly recommended – we'd be happy to come back! To achieve a fully satisfactory rating, the ambiance could offer even more of a Mexican feel – unfortunately, that's not the case. Unfortunately, the limited space means you sit very close together, which can be quite uncomfortable depending on who you're sitting next to, as strangers can stare directly at your plate.🌮🇲🇽

A very nice little shop. We've already been to Southern California and to Mexico City. We really enjoyed it. The beef tacos are highly recommended; they can definitely compete with some places in California. The service was also very friendly and attentive. Our highlight in Trier. We think the price-performance ratio is justifiable. If we're ever back in Trier, we'll eat here again.

I recommend getting a reservation if you don’t want to be outside. I wish they had music playing while we ate outside. The food was good. One of the best spots for Mexican food I have found in Germany.

We came here on a recommendation; we wanted a small snack and then went to the movies. The waitress was very friendly, which was the only positive aspect of our experience. Unfortunately, the food was nothing, with one exception. The tacos were the only dish that was really good. The burrito was 80% fries, so you had to hunt for the meat and other ingredients. Aside from that, I personally don't understand what fries are doing in a burrito; it wasn't a French taco, but the dish wasn't good simply because it consisted of fries. The bowl with steak strips, however, was pretty much the most ridiculous value-for-money I've eaten in a long time. The steak strips weighed less than 100g, the ingredients themselves were tasty, but so few that they could have been an appetizer salad. The rice in the bowl was just mush; overcooked doesn't even come close. All in all, we absolutely do not recommend it.

A small, fine restaurant with very, very tasty food at an upscale price, which is no problem when the taste and quality are right. I could have used a second helping, though; the portion wasn't quite filling enough – hence one star deduction. We'd still happily come back anytime because it tasted so good.

My friends kept raving about this authentic Mexican spot, but I was skeptical, and figured it was just another place with more hype than substance. But when I finally stopped by during their open hours, I was genuinely impressed. Right away, I was greeted warmly by the owner and staff, which set a welcoming tone. The ambiance had a relaxed, heartfelt vibe, and the music was perfectly curated to match. Then came the real surprise, the Surf and Turf burrito. One bite in, and I was speechless; my taste buds were in heaven 🌯🤤. I also tried a drink called Jamaica, which was incredibly refreshing, especially on a hot summer evening. Safe to say, I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

A Mexican place whose flavors remind me of my trip to Mexico. Delicious tacos, delicious homemade drinks. Service is very friendly. The interior ambiance is 5 stars, the exterior is a little less than ideal, it could be better shielded from the street. But that doesn't change the fact that the food is very good, simply fantastic. Highly recommended.

Beloved place, our go to choice when we want to eat out. The food quality is top notch, feels like you’re consuming only the best ingredients and as fresh as they can be! Always a delight to eat there! And the best margaritas I’ve ever had ( I don’t even like tequila but the margarita you guys make there, i am always craving it!) The staff is very friendly and kind, always a warm smile, last time i forgot my sunglasses on the table outside and one of them followed us with his bicycle to give them back to me!!!!God bless you, I was beyond grateful for that gesture 🥹 I can only recommend this place, again and again and again🤗

Nice food nice and friendly staff

The food was delicious. Unfortunately, our order was forgotten. Our reservation was at 7 p.m., and at 8:20 p.m. we noticed that we still hadn't eaten. Friends of ours who came after us and ordered after us left the restaurant before we got our food. When we asked, they said they would look into it, but even then we received no apology and no information about where our food was. When the food arrived, it was cold. All three of us work in the restaurant industry and have the greatest understanding for forgotten orders or stress in a store. Because of this, we also know how hungry, waiting customers should be treated, especially when the fault clearly lies with the service staff. We received no compensation, nothing! Unfortunately, extremely disappointing!

Pretty good Mexican food. I do wish they could make a change to the chips and salsa. You pay for them and the portion you get is pretty small for the price. The salsa was good, just wish to have more. The rest of our food was delicious.

I have never been much of a surf and turf guy, but I attached a picture to describe my emotions, anytime I get to eat one of those burritos! The service is utterly friendly! Drinks and dessert are sooooomething else and I can honestly recommend the whole menu 😍 I would eat there 3-6 times a week, if I could! 💌

Best Mexican food in all of Europe hands down! Ariel, the owner and chef, knows what's up. Super friendly, welcoming, absolutely delicious, freshly made Tortilla Chips and Horchata, which I wasn't able to find in Europe since leaving Arizona 😍 We are so blessed to have Ariel in Trier! Highly, highly recommend.

Nice little restaurant with authentic cuisine. The homemade nachos are phenomenal. Nothing comes out of the bag here. The carrot 🥕 cake is a poem. The salsa was very tasty and the guacamole was great. We'd love to come back.

Burrito was okay, unfortunately lukewarm and relatively "dry". Price performance rather modest (Corona 0% 5.20.-) Service very friendly and attentive.

A really great restaurant! It's not easy to find good Mexican food in Germany, but everything was perfect here! The margaritas are the first highlight of the evening, unmistakably delicious. All dishes are well prepared, with good seasoning and you can taste every ingredient. The churros are the perfect finishing touch, along with a chocolate flavored rum :) The service is friendly, warm and accommodating. We felt very comfortable and would be happy to come back at any time! 100% recommended!

This place has a great variety of tasty dishes. Veggie and vegan options as well. We tried some burritos, tacos, and loaded fries which were all amazing! The prices were decent too. However, upon arrival we saw a sign that said 'cash only', which we didn't know as we didn't see that information anywhere in advance. Luckily, we had just the right amount with us although we usually don't carry cash.

A hidden gem of Trier! Authentic California Mexican food in a small and cozy shop. Definitely make a reservation and order the Carne Asana Fries! The cauliflower tacos were surprisingly my favorite.

Der Chef akzeptiert die Gutscheine, die er selber ausgestellt hat, nicht mehr. Grund dafür sei die Neugründung der Betreiberfirma und weil er ja dann nur Verlust mache. Der Chef ist aber nach wie vor derselbe. Steuerlich mag das stimmen und sein Recht sein, im Kundenkontakt und auch menschlich ist das wirklich schwach. Über den Ablauf der Gutscheine wäre über Social Media informiert worden, davon ist aber nichts zu sehen. Auf dem Abschiedspost der "alten Firma" ist keine Rede davon. Zudem war zwischen Kauf des Gutscheines und der Umfirmierung ein sehr kurzer Zeitraum, man hätte also auch beim Kauf darauf hinweisen sollen. Viel schlimmer wiegt aber der Umgang mit uns danach, er wurde aufgrund meines Unverständnisses und Nachfrage frech und tätigte mehrere dreiste Aussagen. (u.A. er käme ja auch nicht in meinen Job und würde seine Probleme zu meinen machen) Leider war auch kein Entgegenkommen oder ein Kompromiss seinerseits gewollt, der Wert des Gutscheines waren immerhin 50€ sodass ich mich nun sehr ärgere und trotz mehrfacher vorheriger Besuche diesen Laden mit Sicherheit meiden werde.

Came back today after almost a year. The place is not the same. California Burrito and Veggie Burritos were 80-85% fries. Tacos were okay!

It was our first time here and we really liked it. We had to wait a bit, but that wasn't a problem because we were provided with drinks. There is a large selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. We'd love to come back. 😋🤗

Food is nice but staff should revise their approach towards waiting clients. We were first on the waiting list and in the meantime 2 tables were allocated to people who came after us. It wasn’t our first time here, so it’s really disappointing.

The food is very tasty, the decor is stylish, the service is very friendly, but the shop is quite small and you can't make a reservation, so it's not sure whether you'll even get a seat. The opening times aren't ideal either.

An authentic taste of So Cal in Trier! Delicious, authentic Mexican food with excellent VEGAN options (wow!). Very friendly staff, relaxing outdoor patio and hip interior. We were fortunate enough to meet the chef/owner, and what a really kind and interesting guy. We hope to be back in Trier again and if so, this will be our go-to spot. A great experience.

Food was ok, the Jamaica hibiscus iced tea was very tasty, the side salad was a dream, the burritos and quesadillas were okay (I'm too spoiled for that). The service was very friendly, but it was only when we were paying that we were told that card payments were not possible and that cash would have to be collected from the nearest savings bank machine. That was not nice. A notice beforehand could have prevented this. Unfortunately, sitting outside on the busy street doesn't create a good atmosphere either...

As an American who loves Mexican food and Tex-Mex, I was very excited to try this. The quesadillas were very delicious. They tasted exactly like Taco Bell and I mean that as a compliment. I love the Bell! But an extra 3€ for “all the salsas…” 🤣 I expected little bowls of salsas to come but it was about 1 small teaspoon of each sauce served on the tips of the quesadilla slices. The Gringo Burrito was really good but about 50% rice. It was also way overpriced considering the very small amount of meat. 12,20 for a mostly-rice burrito with zero sides leaves me speechless. We ordered the Carne Asada Fries as well which, again, were good, but for the small amount of toppings, it, too, was overpriced. The small salad was the only thing with a reasonable price. It was lovingly made with apples, mangoes, strawberries, and more! A perfect salad which was actually quite large for a side salad and only 6€. Reasonable when you consider all the toppings. This is really good fast food, but just too expensive. I wanted to order another drink and a couple tacos to try but we went a very long time without seeing another waiter so I gave up. When he finally came, we found out they only take cash (good that I hadn’t ordered more!). We went through our wallets and pockets and finally scrounged up enough to pay, but they should really put up a sign in the outdoor area or inform customers before ordering. Who has cash anymore since corona? Just tell your customers upon arrival so you don’t have any problems. Also, please understand that my 3-star review is only in regard to the price. The food was quite good, but they can’t survive with those prices. They should at least include beans or rice as a side like Mexican restaurants in the States do. Or maybe even serve the burrito on a bed of lettuce with sour cream. Anything to make the customer feel like they’re not being gouged. Beans and rice or shredded iceberg with a dollop of sour cream is dirt cheap. It wouldn’t hurt their bottom dollar much to offer actual plates of food rather than one item. They might even get by with raising the prices by 1€ each if they added just a bit more to the plate.

As a Mexican myself 🙂, this is probably the only restaurant in my region that makes actually good Mexican food and authentic items. The chef is Mexican himself so that’s more of a reason to come and support this restaurant! The vibe is really nice and the staff is super friendly and always down to talk to you and make you feel welcome. I feel like these other reviews people just write them because they either haven’t been or just want to harm the business which isn’t okay because you’re harming a restaurant that’s actually great service and quality. Oh and the salsa is actually good salsa, not the nasty sweet stuff other “Mexican” restaurants have here.

Wow, I had pretty much given up on authentic Mexican food, here in Germany. When I walked into Chicano, I was immediately greeted and was amazed by the friendly atmosphere. Everyone spoke perfect English, and Debby was absolutely the best waitress. I was surprised how she remembered our names and made small talk throughout our time there. Debby told me the owner/cook was from the San Diego area, which in my opinion has some of the best Mexican food on the planet. I was shocked to see a “California burrito” on the menu, and even more shocked when I saw the correct ingredients listed on their amazing menu. The food was absolutely superb, the service amazing, and the peanut butter pie was to die for. The price is very fair for the amount and quality of food you get & the facility is very clean. COVID standards are adhered too. Lastly, while paying my bill I was greeted by the owner. He’s a great guy who reminded me of home & we had a great conversation. If you want to experience the most authentic Mexican food in Geemany, this is the place to go.... HANDS DOWN! Look no further, this is the spot!

Ausgezeichnet! Geschmacksexplosion...einfach fantastisch! Wir essen bei Ariel und seiner Frau, seit sie mit dem Foodtruck an der Shell Tankstelle standen. Was soll ich sagen, es hat sich nichts geändert...es schmeckt immernoch alles wunderbar und hat gleichbleibende Qualität.

Best Mexican in the area and I haven't had a better one yet! The quality is right and you can tell that there is some knowledge behind it. The tacos also taste like real corn tacos and not a copy! The map is perfectly small - you just don't need anything more. Very very tasty. The service (I've only been there on Sundays) is very friendly and personable! Unfortunately you can't make a reservation, but that's completely ok. We were always on time and got a table. The store is very small, so be quick.

Came in and got lucky to get a seat quickly. Space is very limited and they don’t take reservations. The guy at the front (didn’t catch the name) was super helpful and friendly, and a bit overworked, as it’s a popular spot. Regardless to the above the food came pretty quick and was out of this world! Will come again for sure!
