A place to feel good. I've been coming here for years and always enjoy it. Very friendly staff, great wines that the owner imports himself, so you can find some really good wines there that you wouldn't normally expect (I was thrilled), and really delicious food. A delightful evening in a charming restaurant. The snails and the tarte flambée were excellent, as were the coq au vin and the beef bourgogne. The chocolate mousse and the crème brûlée made for a delicious finale. The wine was superb, the service very friendly and pleasantly unobtrusive, and the atmosphere enchanting. Excellent value for money. We will definitely return.

Last Saturday, I (I'm a regular there) went back to Chez Maurice. I was accompanied by an old friend from Hamburg, a true gourmet. In short: He now shares my enthusiasm for this wonderful restaurant. My boyfriend had coq au vin and I had beef bourguignon. Both dishes were excellent. He accompanied them with a delicious Chardonnay. I don't know of any other restaurant in Prenzelberg or Mitte with such a wonderful atmosphere. The service is extremely friendly. This French restaurant is a must-visit. I'm already looking forward to my next visit there!

We've been going to Chez Maurice for many years and have never been disappointed. Excellent French food, a large wine selection, and a special atmosphere. The coq au vin is especially recommended.

Late afternoon. Autumnal. Of course, Maurice is fully booked. But we get a table until 8 p.m. Excellent cheese platter. Wonderful Sauvignon Blanc and Côtes du Rhône. Delightful. A real recommendation for connoisseurs!

A very cozy, small restaurant with many lovely details. A wonderful French ambiance. My escargots and coq au vin were wonderfully seasoned with fresh produce and herbs. The sea bream is also highly recommended. Added to that is the friendly service, which recommended a fresh, light wine that was affordable. Overall, we felt very comfortable and had a lovely evening. It's perhaps the most touching French spot in all of Berlin. Whether it's birthdays, lovely evenings with friends, or simply a glass of wine after a long day – we celebrate many special moments here. The atmosphere is warm and designed with great attention to detail. Everything is reminiscent of a small bistro in Provence – authentic, charming, genuine. The menu is a homage to classic French cuisine – without compromise, without kitsch. And the wine selection? Surprisingly extensive, with an impressive focus on French wines that you won't find everywhere in Berlin. Thank you!

Disappointing and inhumane – never again I'm truly stunned. I was near the restaurant when I urgently needed to use the restroom. I went in, politely explained the situation, and asked if I could use the restroom for a moment – even for a fee. I only had my card with me, no cash. The answer was a cold no. No consideration, no understanding, not a shred of humanity. I understand that a restaurant isn't a public place – but a minimum level of compassion should be a given in the restaurant industry. This wasn't about an extended break or anything inappropriate, but about a basic human need. Instead, I was simply sent away. That's not how you treat people. Anyone who shows so little heart has definitely lost my trust as a potential customer. I won't be visiting this restaurant – and unfortunately, I can't recommend it to anyone.

I've been there four, maybe five times this year. The food was really good. It's a shame that the menu never changes and there are no special plats de jour. If you go there often and are always presented with the same menu, which isn't particularly large, it gets boring.

I've been wanting to visit this restaurant for a long time, as it looked very cozy and inviting as I cycled or walked past. I finally went there with a friend in mid-April. The food was delicious, and the service and advice were pretty good! The same goes, of course, especially for the wine advice. We'll be back when we get the chance! The ambiance is also very nice, as Arnswalderplatz is right nearby, and traffic is sparse and slower due to the road conditions. I would recommend making a reservation.

Was there yesterday. The tarte flambée was partly cold and also really soggy == it had been sitting around for a long time and was either only warmed up very briefly or simply not baked for long enough. It was really bad. The portion of olives was 9 olives for 6.90 😂 . That was really funny. Later on the waiter swapped a special request (because of an intolerance) for a dish. So they left out an ingredient in a dish DIFFERENT from the one requested. But the waiter didn't care at all, they were really clueless people there. The person with the intolerance was pleased!!! The rest was okay, but nothing more. Don't go there, people, they obviously can't do it anymore.

It's really hard for me to rate it – the ambiance is great and the food itself is quite reasonable. But unfortunately, in our opinion, the food isn't anything special. It's a bit too expensive for that. And the service, while fast, is unfortunately not particularly friendly. All in all, it's a good place to go, but I would be disappointed if I were celebrating something and expected something special there...

A small, cozy restaurant in Berlin's Friedrichshain district. Typical French cuisine of a high standard and at reasonable prices. A diverse wine selection and expert advice from the owner made our birthday dinner a culinary experience. Thank you very much, we'll be back.

My meat was tough and almost cold, but the other four at the table were satisfied. The service was cold and lacked attention to us.

Terrible place which refused to give a glass of tap water to take a pill

Got a steak which was SLICED, not a whole piece of meat. Very average meat quality btw. Tea low quality too, vine (chardonay) did not finished. Goat cheese salate was ok. 100 euro for very average stake, starter, 2 vine glasses and desert looks too much. Service is slow.

The care and sophistication of the dishes that made a visit special have unfortunately been lost at Chez Maurice. Whether due to the shortage of skilled workers and/or cost pressure, it is simply a shame that guests can no longer expect a special quality restaurant visit. Review 2023: Very tasty French food, good portions. Despite the somewhat small dining room, it was a quiet and cozy evening with good service. Gladly again!

Unfortunately we were refused a simple junior Bolognese for a party of 9. There's not much more to say. Food itself looks good, tastes so-so

Wir waren zum zweiten Mal innerhalb eines Jahres hier. Nach dem Winterbesuch (drinnen) saßen wir gestern zu dritt draußen und hatten einen schönen Abend mit sehr gutem Essen. Wir hatten unterschiedliche Gerichte und mehrere Gänge: alles sehr gut und mit jeweils abwechslungsreichen Beilagen. Das Fleisch (1 x Maishähnchen, 1 x Lamm, 1 x Rumpsteak) war perfekt gegart bzw. wunschgemäß gebraten. Zwar waren der ausgewählte Wein sowie ein Dessert nicht da, aber die angebotene Alternative passte auch gut. An dem früher oft negativ bewerteten Service hatten wir rein gar nichts zu mäkeln (vielleicht hat sich das auch geändert). Man könnte ihn neutral nennen - wir fanden ihn höflich, unaufdringlich und dabei aufmerksam, also insgesamt sehr angenehm. Die Atmosphäre draußen auf dem Gehweg in einer beschaulichen Straße im Bätzow-Kiez macht Spaß, aber auch die rustikale Bistro-Atmosphäre im Innern des kleinen Lokals hat uns gefallen. Wir kommen wieder :- )
