Very tasty, vegan Asian food. Service was quick and friendly. We didn't have a reservation, but three of us still managed to get a seat on a Saturday evening. Cash only.

Kind of a small heaven on earth

Super cute restaurant, a bit small but with a lovely atmosphere. Very authentic and delicious, especially the tofu with peanut sauce, and the appetizer platter is highly recommended. I'm also very happy that the restaurant is pet-friendly 🤗 I'd love to go there again.

One of my favorite vegan restaurants. The food is delicious, the staff is very friendly, and there's usually a cute dog there too. It's become a tradition to go here for birthday dinners. 🌱💚

I have eaten here many times and the food is tasty. The vegan duck is really similar to real duck. However, last time, I was seriously disappointed at their lunch service: I arrived and took the first table inside, near the door (it was raining on the day). The waiter asked if I was alone and proceeded to sit me on a tiny, uncomfortable table with jackets hanging on the wall above my shoulder. I felt unnecessarily uncomfortable given that there were at least 3 other free tables in the restaurant where I could have sit. If I had known, I’d have ordered food and remained comfortable in my house. But the worst part was when a lady with a hurt foot arrived, using crutches, and they did the same with her trying to sit her at the end of the restaurant (in which was an obviously challenging path with the crutches). She ended up sitting outside where the tables were wet. That was simply heartless.

We ordered two dishes and were unfortunately disappointed overall. 1. Peanut Curry with Tofu and Rice: We ordered peanut curry, but what we received was a regular curry without peanuts, which is unacceptable at that price. Furthermore, the ratio was completely unbalanced: 80% rice and 20% a small portion of curry. The vegan duck was soft and not crispy, which can happen on delivery, but the actual main course wasn't what we ordered and therefore wasn't right. 2. Second Dish (Rice + Curry in One Box): In this case, the rice and sauce were packed directly together in one box. The rice was soggy because it had already absorbed all the liquid. Particularly annoying: Apparently, there are boxes where you can deliver rice and curry separately (like with the first dish). So why not do the same here to keep the portion even smaller? That would be fine, and it's cheaper, but then please find a different packaging solution. 3. Value for money: For €15.40, you can expect a normal portion with a balanced ratio of curry to rice. In a normal restaurant, you'd get a full meal for that amount, but here, unfortunately, it was mostly rice, and not the curry I ordered. Conclusion: Unfortunately disappointing. The taste was okay, but the portion size and packaging were unsatisfactory, and the delivery was incorrect. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it for the price.

Wow! I have no other words. A simply exceptional restaurant. Unparalleled flavors, a cozy place, impeccable service, I have rarely eaten so well. Everything is delicious, even the cocktail had a special taste. I recommend it with my eyes closed. We had a great evening, and at a more than affordable price.

Bao bun and mango lassi are a must have!

Highly recommended. We arrived just before closing time and each got an extra delicious portion of vegan duck and water without asking. We were able to linger at the lovely tables outside in the soft lighting and wave our napkins to the crew as they went home. ☺️✨ Perfect refreshment after dancing 💃

They make fantastic food and have good springrolls

It tasted very good. Although I'm not usually a vegetarian, everything was still very tasty and well-seasoned. I can only recommend it.

We hadn't planned to eat here, but I was pleasantly surprised. First of all, the waitress was delightful. Neither she nor we spoke English very well, but it didn't matter since we understood each other very well in our own way. Secondly, the food was delivered super fast and was delicious. I tried four dishes from their menu (which was actually quite extensive) and their peanut butter dish was the one I absolutely loved. They also didn't skimp on size, offering you a very large plate.

Yesterday, I ordered food from this restaurant for the first time. I was plagued by severe stomach pains during the night and vomited several times. If I run a restaurant, cleanliness should be my top priority. You deliver and serve food. Unfortunately, uncleanliness is not acceptable. So, I can only advise against this restaurant.

Wow! Rather inconspicuous, we happened by chance and were completely amazed.

Extremely good vegan food; we come here on every trip to Berlin. My recommendation: the vegan duck with yellow curry sauce and a mango/orange lemonade. Nice staff, but cash only.

The food is really very tasty. Very fast and friendly service. I deducted one star because the food was delivered unnecessarily in plastic and/or Styrofoam packaging. It's a shame and doesn't fit with the vegan idea. There are now such good cardboard packaging (or reusable ones).

We have been eating there regularly for many years. It's always super tasty and fresh. The people who work there are always very accommodating. This is our favorite Asian cuisine restaurant.

The filling inside the fried wontons was sad. Ordering wontons and being served deep-fried pastry with speckles of filling is pretty unacceptable. My noodles were also pretty bland. Glad I came here with a discoeat discount.

It's difficult to choose a quality Asian restaurant in Berlin, we found many 100% vegan ones with excellent reviews. We arrive at Chay Umi for dinner and to welcome us there is a place without too many frills, cozy and with a nice big dog lying down to doze. The dishes are different, from the wok to the soups, we had fried wanton (with a very tasty sauce), soup and sautéed udon. The prevailing taste is umami and savory, with attention to the choice of vegetables. We'll be back to try the rest!

I love this vegan place it’s affordable and so yummy only thing is that you can only pay with cash and it’s a little small but I will definitely go again!!!!

My companion had the Bao Bun, number 12. She liked it, unfortunately I wasn't so lucky. I had Tofu Sa Ot, number 45. The rice was well prepared, the tofu well fried, the salad crisp, but the sauce, which covered a lot of the food, got in the way physically and taste-wise. The "homemade soy lime sauce" didn't taste like lime, but it tasted very strongly like glutamate and unfortunately everything was too salty. Only when I had finished eating did a waitress come by and ask if everything was OK. Plus points for the big, cute dog who slept at the table with us.

We went here for a cozy, purely plant-based dinner. The staff was very friendly, the place was very clean and well maintained. The selected dishes were super tasty and also very plentiful. We were very excited and would love to come back. In my opinion, an absolute must for fans of vegan, Asian cuisine.

I am NOT a vegan and never will be. But I can still recommend this restaurant. The service is extremely nice and friendly, the food is served quickly and hot and yes, I didn't know that duck crispy on (whatever was in it) vegan base really tastes good. I can also recommend the soups.

Worst store of the year. Service is terrible. With only 2(!) other guests, we were ignored for 20 minutes at 2:30 p.m. and didn't get a card. Even when asked, the response was reluctant. Was the stroller to blame? Doesn't matter. You don't want to be treated like that. Unfortunately there are no 0 stars…

Food was very tasty, nice shop. Unfortunately, one of the service staff basically took her cigarette break in my meal. Pretty annoying as a non-smoker. Otherwise the store is highly recommended. Apparently you just have to have good timing and not be there during the breaks.

We happened to walk past the little shop on a Sunday evening and since we wanted to watch the England game against Slovakia, we decided to stop here. There was a television on which the game was shown without sound. The menu looked very good and all the dishes in the restaurant are vegan, which was very important to us. We had two starters and two main courses. To drink we had a pot of lemongrass tea. The food was wonderful and the service was quick and very friendly. The atmosphere is also very inviting and one would like to spend time here. In addition to the size of the portions, the prices were also absolutely fair. We would love to come back here!

Chay Umi offers some of the best simple vegan food in Prenzlauer Berg. Special tip from the current menu: vegan duck. Has bite, has structure, has taste and is even crispy! Everything is fresh and tastes well balanced. Combinations with Saitan and tofu. There has been a lot of discussion here about the friendliness of the service at Chay Umi. Personally, I can't complain. The waiter took my order quickly and my food arrived in less than 10 minutes! In terms of taste, the dishes at Chay Umi are some of the best vegan Asian food I know in Berlin. The vegetables have a bite and taste “real”, just like the rice. I like the dishes because they are not so spicy. The mango lassi also tastes naturally fruity. The drinks menu itself is rather narrow, and the desserts on the menu are probably not always available.

Nice little Vietnamese restaurant on the edge of Schönhauser Allee with a tasteful ambience and excellent food that is usually prepared very quickly. If you're in a hurry and want to eat quickly, well, healthily and at reasonable prices, this is the right place for you! :)

One of the favorites for years for a delicious meal in a rustic, cozy atmosphere. Even though it's very busy, you can usually still find a place. The dining area offers good seating both inside and in front of the restaurant. The menu offers a wide selection. Among other things, bowls, salads, rice and pasta dishes, appetizers and desserts. The preparation and serving take place without long waiting times. On all previous visits, the dishes were tasty and varied. The staff is quick and attentive. However, payment is only possible in cash. Card payments are not yet offered. All in all a good location. Both thumps up ;)

We were here recently and had a really nice experience. Although the store was very full (reservation is recommended), they were able to seat us (with the warning that only a short time window was possible). Inside you have a very pleasant and cozy atmosphere. Even though the time slot was slightly overdue, we were not pressured to leave by the friendly service. The house specialty, the vegan duck, tasted excellent and the salad was also very tasty, fresh and mild in taste. For dessert we had the sesame balls filled with refried beans, which were equally phenomenal. While the whole thing wasn't the cheapest restaurant in terms of price, the portion sizes here still didn't disappoint. The price-performance ratio is consistent. During our visit you could only pay in cash. I will definitely visit the store again on my next stay in Berlin.

The food was okay, but didn't blow your mind. I enjoy eating vegan-Asian food and think there is a lot of potential here. I didn't find the service very attentive, even though there were few customers. We waited longer for someone to take our order but ultimately had to draw our attention. They didn't even ask if everything was okay. They could have played some background music for the ambience, but otherwise the restaurant was very nicely decorated.

I had a Pho Seitan and it was amazing. The service was fast, the restaurant was cozy and quiet, and there were also tables to sit outside. The only negative thing is that they only accept cash.

Chic little loka with cozy facilities, we didn't have to wait long for our food and it was also very inexpensive and tasty, all vegan 😊

In anderen Ländern kann ich alles mit Karte zahlen, bei vielen asiatischen Restaurants hier zu Lande nur mit Bargeld - warum das so ist kann sich jeder selbst seine Gedanken machen. We stumbled upon this place when we were cold and hungry. It was a real lucky find. We had a lovely time, the people were super nice and the food was delicious. It was a bit annoying that you had to pay with cash, but there is an ATM right next to the entrance to the restaurant so that was lucky as well.

I got the crispy vegan duck and it was the nicest vegan duck I have ever tasted! It was quiet so the food came out very fast. Staff were friendly and the interior was so lovely, a nice cosy feeling to it. We also got the coconut ice coffees which were so delicious. Would definitely recommend!

Vegane Ente ist wirklich wunderbar und es finden sich auch ausgefallenere Speisen wie Bun Cha La Lot in dem Menü. Servicepersonal war ein absoluter Traum - absolut zuvorkommend, flexibel und die ganze Zeit auf uns bedacht.

Seit ich das 1. Mal hier essen war, bin ich sehr regelmäßig hier. Das Essen ist sehr aromatisch. Sehr große Geschmackserlebnisse. Sehr schnelle und freundliche Bedienung. Auch wenn man nicht reserviert hat, findet das Personal im eine Lücke bzw. Lösung, dass man bleiben kann. Einfach großartig. Mein Lieblings-Vietnamese in der Nähe. Tipp: Nur Barzahlung möglich

Anfangs war ich ja kritisch, aber ich muss sagen, dass diese vegane Ente mich tatsächlich umgehauen hat! Das Personal war sehr freundlich, es gab eine vielfältige Speisekarte und die Portionen waren reichhaltig. Werde nächstes Mal wieder herkommen, wenn ich in Berlin bin.

Bin hier Stammgast, weil das Essen meistens gut ist. Einziger Kritikpunkt: Oft ist (viel) zu viel Zucker im Essen. Dann schmeckt das Reisgericht süß wie ein Nachtisch. Muss nicht umbendingt sein.
