Gut & Günstig, wenn es voll ist sollte man Geduld mitbringen

Im besten Fall mittelmäßig. Das Chicken Madras war leider nicht scharf, sondern sehr wässrig – dem Gericht hätte etwas mehr Liebe gutgetan. Im Grunde ist es ein billiges Essen, für das es sich nicht lohnt, wiederzukommen.

Kleiner süßer Laden, sieht authentisch aus und die Küche läßt vermuten, hier könnte es schmecken, wenn man einfach nur ein leckeres Tellergericht, typisch indisch und unkompliziert erwartet. Serviert wird einem dann ein Klecks des bestellten Currys mit einem Schöpfer Reis neben einem Mini Deko-Krautsalat, alles auf einer Blechplatte angerichtet und wirklich ohne Lächeln. Die Bedienung war noch sehr jung, daher hoffte ich wenigstens auf eine geschmackliche Entlohnung, während andere quirlige Gäste nur so schwärmten von dieser Adresse. (Muss ja gut sein, wenn sie selbst dort essen 😁) Ich war tatsächlich schon lange nicht mehr so enttäuscht in einer food location. Null Schärfe, trotz Warnung auf der Karte, null Raffinesse. Keine Kreativität. Das Raita schmeckte fast ungeniessbar, Joghurt kurz vorm Ableben, kein Hauch von Gurke, Lamm Vindaloo auf dem Niveau eines erwärmten Fertiggerichts, welches möglichst durchschnittlich schmecken sollte um niemanden zu überfordern. Das King Fisher aus der Flasche schmeckte gut. Mit etwas mehr Authentizität in der Küche, Empathie im Service und „Standing“ falls es mal einer „Karen“ und ihrem Gott-Kind nicht europäisch genug schmeckt, könnte es noch was werden. Viel Erfolg! 🫶🏻

Ich gehe hier schon seit vielen Jahren regelmäßig hin, oder bestelle etwas und hole es ab für zu Hause. Immer gute indische Küche und typisches Ambiente. Immer zu empfehlen.

Ich habe mir am Sonntag einen Biriyani Vegetarisch bestellt und beim bezahlen mich gewundert das Die Dame mir 9,90 Euro abkassiert hat. Sie hat meine Verwunderung gemerkt. Am nächsten Tag hab ich im Internet mir das Menü angeschaut weil es mir keine Ruhe gelassen hat und da steht 7,90 Eiuro … !!! Trinkgeld gebe ich gerne selber und lass mich ungern übern Tisch ziehen..

Großartiges indisches Essen, Shahi Paneer und Palak Paneer sind meine Lieblingsgerichte, gute vegetarische Auswahl, freundliches Personal, schöne Einrichtung, tolles Mango-Lassi. Ich habe hier schon viele gute Besuche gehabt, aber ich wohne schon mein ganzes Leben in diesem Haus und habe festgestellt, dass die Preise etwas gestiegen und das Essen etwas schlechter geworden ist.

Ich schreibe diese Bewertung etwas enttäuscht, da meine früheren Besuche hier wirklich unvergesslich waren. Vor etwa vier Jahren war dieses Restaurant einer unserer Lieblingsorte. Als Studienfreunde kamen wir oft direkt nach der Uni hierher, weil wir Lust auf herzhafte Gerichte wie Dosa, Hühnchen und Paneer hatten. Das Essen war damals immer köstlich und sättigend. Bei meinen letzten Besuchen hat sich das leider geändert. Wir waren zweimal dort, in der Hoffnung, der erste Besuch wäre eine Ausnahme gewesen, aber beide Male entsprach die Qualität nicht unseren Erwartungen. Das Essen wurde kalt serviert, auch der Sambar, was das Gesamterlebnis deutlich beeinträchtigte. Der Salat roch unangenehm, und das Chutney war viel zu wässrig und geschmacklos. Bei einem Besuch bestellten wir Dosa, beim anderen Butter Chicken und Paneer mit Butter Naan. Leider waren die Hauptgerichte ziemlich fad, und das servierte Naan war kalt und schmeckte eher wie normales Naan als wie das bestellte Butter Naan. Selbst das Lassi war viel zu süß, was das Essen zusätzlich verdorben hat. Als Gruppe von fünf Personen teilten wir alle dieselben Bedenken, es handelte sich also nicht um eine Einzelmeinung. Wir waren auf unserer Reise direkt dort gewesen und hatten ein gemütliches Essen erwartet, waren aber insgesamt enttäuscht. Ich hoffe sehr, dass das Restaurant dieses Feedback konstruktiv aufnimmt und an der Verbesserung der Speisenqualität und -konsistenz arbeitet, denn es war früher ein Ort, den wir sehr gerne besucht haben.

Gut. Nett. Günstig. Schneller, freundlicher Service, sie sprechen Englisch und haben immer geöffnet. Was soll ich sagen? Ihr müsst es unbedingt probieren! Wir hatten Butter Chicken und Käse-Naan.

Vermutlich nicht die beste Wahl für ein indisches Restaurant in Berlin.

Authentisch und stilecht, schon seit 30 Jahren laut Restaurant mit sehr vertretbar-erschwinglichen Preisen und einer sehr guten Auswahl an Speisen. Empfiehlt sich, wenn die indische Küche einfach sein muss.

Leckwees und preisgünstiges indisches Restaurant. Aus meiner Sicht empfehelnswert. Auch die Parkplatzsituation ist.in der Umgebung in Ordnung.

Durchschnittliche Qualität, ich habe schon bessere Butter Chicken in meinem Leben gegessen, war relativ flüssig.

Wir bestellten Chicken Tikka Masala, aber es war alles andere als ein Chicken Tikka Masala. Das Essen war lieblos, erbärmlich und geschmacklos. Ich fühle mich, als wäre ich um 40 Euro betrogen worden, und dieser Laden hat kein Recht, sich indisches Restaurant zu nennen. Das Essen war überhaupt nicht authentisch und hatte nichts mit indischem Essen zu tun. Es war kaum Hühnchen drin, dafür jede Menge Paprika (ich weiß nicht warum) und es war definitiv kein Chicken Tikka. Sie verwenden für alle Gerichte dieselbe geschmacklose Basissoße, was extrem enttäuschend war. Ich möchte mein Geld zurück, aber ich werde dieses Restaurant nie wieder betreten. Wenn ich Minuspunkte vergeben könnte, würde ich es tun.

Hohe Decke und Straßenlaterne hat mich überzeugt, Spaß beiseite, das Essen war sehr authentisch! 🫶❤️

Ich mag das Restaurant. Das Personal ist super freundlich und das Essen ist günstig und sehr gut. Die Inneneinrichtung ist vielleicht nicht gerade Berlin-Fancy sondern eher old school, aber das hat einen besonderen Charme. Im Sommer ist vor allem draußen sitzen richtig schön, weil die Straße sehr schön an der Immanuel Kirche gelegen ist.

Eines der schlechtesten indischen Restaurants in Berlin, und ich weiß nicht, ob die Bewertungen hier stimmen. Ich bestellte Chicken Tikka Masala, ein Gericht, das ich schon unzählige Male in anderen Berliner Restaurants gegessen habe. Aber noch nie wurde mir Hühnchen mit Pilzen und Paprika auf einer heißen Platte serviert, dazu Reis mit Unmengen von Tomatenketchup. Ich habe immer noch keine Ahnung, was das sein sollte. Da war kein Tikka, kein Masala, einfach nur irgendwelches gebratenes Hühnchen.

Hier bekommt man wirklich authentische indische Küche, und man merkt, dass das Restaurant familiengeführt ist. Es ist kein Schicki-Micki-Laden, aber die Gerichte mit Auberginen sind einfach unglaublich!

Cute place with nice Indian music, a selection of dishes for every palate. The meat and chicken were tough for me, maybe it's the way it was cooked? Overall it was delicious and the price was just right. For a mango lassi, two chai, 2 soups and 2 main courses it cost me 36 euros, I left 40.

Really disappointing. I used to come here a lot and appreciated the good food at a good price. I went recently and they changed the price- raised everything 2-3 euros. This could be understandable, but on top of that, they changed the ingredients they used, and they were not as delicious, and they used very cheap cuts of chicken. I will not be returning. The cost and quality do not make sense.

The food was very disappointing. Being from India, I can say when the food does not taste authentic and unfortunately this was one of those times. I ordered Kashmiri Biryani but got something like fried rice, served with tomato sauce instead of raita. The dosa was a bit burnt and undercooked. Sambar just tasted like plain daal. Even if it’s cheaper than others nearby Indian restaurants that doesn’t excuse such poor food.

The best Indian food in Berlin, period. Unbeatable price and home-cooked style - you are not getting anything better than this. Full every time I pass by it, you can imagine why :)

Very good—I've been there 10 times. The chili chicken is highly recommended. The prices are fair. The staff is friendly. When it's very busy, it can take up to 40 minutes to get your food.

The food is top-notch, and the prices are too. But: it's extremely slow for lunchtime. The place isn't crowded, but between 12 and 2 p.m., you still have to wait about 30 minutes, sometimes longer. So it's not really a place for lunch right now :(

Without a doubt my favorite restaurant in Prenzlauer Berg. Excellent service, and I went here twice during a short five-day stay! The butter chicken with cheese naan was delicious.

While I lived close this was my favourite. Not only the cheapest food un the region but very good und usually quick and very nice people and open till late. Towards the evening the sun can hit the tables on the side walk. Its beautiful and simple inside as well. Youhou!

The hot food was served to my child's hands, and the waiter didn't even look at the plate or where it landed. The result: scalding hot sauce landed on my child's leg. He was taken to the emergency room and suffered a second-degree burn. We didn't really get any help at the restaurant either.

First of all, the food prices are very low. The drink prices are also low. The service is okay. You get full, and if that were the only thing that mattered, I'd give it 5 stars. However, if you specifically want Indian food, you should go somewhere else. I was a bit disappointed because I was so prepared for sauces, spices, and so on. Nothing like that. The food comes on a plate, like it would from a German canteen. It's just lukewarm, nothing that excites my palate in any way. It's just clearly customized, and presumably that's exactly how most people want it, unfortunately. But I wasn't prepared for that.

The price is already reasonable. After ordering the tandoori chicken, I had to wait longer than expected, but after eating it, I was convinced. I wish they would never cut the time. Everything I ate felt carefully made.

The food is quite edible, but somehow without a spark. They serve it like in a factory canteen - just put it on a plate. The portion was clearly not enough for me, but maybe I’m such a glutton. The service is the same, they brought it and took it away. For a long time. Atmospheric? Exactly the same. On the other hand, the price tag is affordable, if they were faster, it would be a normal place to have a quick lunch. This is the most boring Indian restaurant I've ever eaten at.

The taste of the food is okay (I had chicken tikka masala). The naan bread, however, was wonderful! The portion sizes are rather small (so overall the price/performance is not convincing). The service is extremely slow and rather unfriendly. The ambience is good though.

One of my favorite places to have lunch. It is one of the most affordable restaurants in the area, but the quality of the food is better than most.

We've been eating here once a week for years. The prices are still like they were in the 1990s. Let's see how long it stays like that. The food is good. We only eat vegetarian or vegan and that's all I can say. There are authentic Indian dishes like dal and dosa. The shop is an integral part of the neighborhood and is always full.

It's amazing how you can be rated so well when you serve such subterranean food from bored employees in a loveless atmosphere. The starters come a minute before the main course and the side dishes come when you have finished eating. Plus Mango Lassi is sweeter than Cola, everything else tastes and looks indefinably bland and is anything but plentiful. The service has more to do with itself than with the guests, people seem to be a nuisance here. You can't even say it was cheap. Because afterwards you wonder for a long time whether it was at least harmless to your health. A good example that you shouldn't trust Google reviews.

We had a lovely dinner at Chandni Restaurant recently and were very pleased with the overall experience. We ordered the Mix Pakoras, Dosa, and a Veg Thali. The staff was very accommodating—they happily accepted our request to make a plain dosa with the masala served separately and to swap the rice on the thali for Bhatura. All the dishes were delicious, with authentic flavors and well-balanced spices. The portion sizes were generous, especially considering the price, which we really appreciated. The only suggestion I have is to improve the Sambhar that came with the dosa, as I found it a bit bland. Otherwise, everything was great, and we would definitely recommend Chandni Restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Indian cuisine.

After that rude handling this was my last visit at the restaurant "Chandi". Here is why: I feel shocked and disappointed how me and my friend were treated at our dinner and basically thrown away from our table by the waitress that night. The restaurant doesn't offer reservation. We had to wait to find place where we wanted. As soon as we finished our meals we were asked by the waitress to order more (or if we do not spend more money on the menu) to pay that bill and leave the table EMIDETLY, she said. Because people are waiting... she emphasized. It was very rude communicated. There were other tables getting free at the moment and the restaurant had plenty free tables inside! Though she threw us away with her harsch and disrespectful way to manage the situation. Me and my friend shall never come back again and recomend this place. 0 🌟 because of the missing social/human skills, empathy and emotional intelligence are the core skills if one wants to work with clients and food. People are not numbers and 🤑🤑🤑🤑!

It’s located in a very nice neighborhood, the service was fast and nice. Only downside was the grill plate, the meat selection wasn’t the best. The other dish we got was pretty good.

If you are after punjabi home cooked style food this is the place . Loved the food and I'm a vegetarian. My friends had meat dishes and loved it. Service is great and prices are good . You can't go wrong

this place not only is cheap and delicious, is also quite big and really clean. we ordered vegetarian options ( they also have some vegan options) and honestly they were so good. he drinks are also completely accessible. if you are around and craving some Indian food, I really recommend this place.

All dishes excellent and deliciously prepared. Decent portions, larger portions are also available for a few euros if you're really hungry. There are nicer restaurants, but the atmosphere is still very cozy and relaxed. Prices have hardly changed in recent years. Therefore (almost) always a full restaurant.

I've been eating here regularly since around 1995 when I'm in Berlin. Cheap, tasty, friendly. Lovingly prepared dishes.

Dieses Restaurant ist wirklich authentisch. Wie in Neu-Delhi nicht der teure Luxusinder, sondern tolle Gerichte mit herausragendem Geschmack. Einige meiner VorrednerInnen Monieren die sehr simpel TellerSprache und wünschen sich mehr Dekor im Gericht, aber was zählt, ist die hervorragende Küche. Diesen Laden gibt es seit 25 Jahren und das aus guten Grund. Es ist einfach nur absolut lecker. Meine Empfehlung: Bananencurry, die wunderbaren Samosas und die wirklich abgefahrenen Lammgerichte. Wer Lust auf Schnörkellose Neu-Delhi Küche hat, wird hier auf seine Kosten kommen aber erwartet keine luxuriöse Tellersprache aber die bezahlt ihr bei den günstigen Preisen auch nicht mit😏

Disappointing Germanized "indian" food served in white plates. Avoid.

Die meisten Gaststätten in diesem "Szeneviertel" haben meist einen Bistrocharakter, man favorisiert die Straßenküche. Doch in der kalten Jahreszeit ist ein bequem bestuhltes wärmeres Innenambiente vorzuziehen, hier findet man es. Die Bestellung wird noch an einer Bedienung aufgegeben, doch bezahlt wird selbst am Tresen. So verlässt man das Lokal mit einem noch nicht abgeräumten Tisch. Der Service ist nicht optimal, so kam es auch vor, dass der Hauptgang serviert wurde ehe die Vorspeise gegessen war, beides stand gleichzeitig auf dem Tisch. Die Gerichte sind wie man es bei einem "Inder" erwartet, nur fällt auf, dass die Optik und Präsentation mehr einem einfachen "Tagesgericht" entspricht. Um den günstigen Preis zu halten, muss wohl jetzt auch das Material auf dem Teller optimiert werden. Es ist kein großartiges Menü, doch es schmeckte trotzdem. Nur das Bathura Brot war leider schon, als es auf dem Tisch kam, zusammengefallen und von pappiger Konsistenz, da ist viel Luft nach oben. Alles in Allem , man kann hier preiswert essen, nur sollt man eine durchschnittliche Küche und Service erwarten.

Besser geht's nicht!!! (Bin spontan hin, da ich in der Nähe war) Habe bestellt ohne vorher auf die Karte zugucken. Wusste was ich wollte = Prawn Butter Masala, Madras hotness ( dazu Indische Schärfe, nicht deutsche) Haben ohne Problen die Bestellung angenommen 🤗 Stellte sich heraus, daß es garnicht auf der Karte war. (Solche Restaurants sind eh die Besten). Das Gericht war sehr frisch, lecker und die Schärfe bombastisch! Dachte zuerst es sah etwas "dünn/wässrig" aus aber das war garnicht der Fall! Flavour explosion (fast zu scharf, but that's the way I like it und in 3 Jahren trying various Indian restaurants in D'land hat das noch keiner geschafft. This is a compliment) Totally reminded me of real Indian street food. Top score! 👍👍👍 Also added a poppadom, mint chutney & chilli pakora. Everthing 100% spot on.

Fast, cheap and tasty with comfortable seats and a good atmosphere

Teller die traurig machen Mir wurde es empfohlen hier mal zu essen. Nach dem ersten Besuch ist mir vollkommen unklar warum?! Das Gericht war einfach ernüchternd. Einen so langweiligen und auch lauwarmen Reis hatte ich selten. Dazu ein äußerst knapp bemessenes Kabbab Tikka ohne wirkliche Eigenschaften. Dass alles wird durch eine Darbietung gekrönt, die einen traurig werden lässt. Mich lockt es nicht nochmal hierher. Und das Ordnungsamt Pankow stuft zudem das Lokal als ausreichend ein. Also zweimal ausreichend.

Liebe dieses Restaurant seit meiner Kindheit. Sehr nette Mitarbeiter die sich sehr viel mühe geben. Sitze gerne drinn oder draußen. Ich esse hier gerne schnell und günstig mein Mittagessen. Ich empfehle jedem einen Besuch!❤️

Bestes Restaurant aller Zeiten. Ich gehe dort schon seit langem essen und seitdem wurde ich nur sehr selten enttäuscht. Es kann sein, dass, wenn man dort nur einmal essen geht, man einen schlechten Tag erwischt, wo der Reis zum Beispiel nicht so gut gewürzt ist. Wenn es einmal nicht so gut geschmeckt hat, dann sollte man ein andermal wiederkommen und es nochmal probieren. Ansonsten bestes Essen, sehr zu empfehlen.

Essen finde ich, super lecker. Die Wartezeit ist aber extrem lang, was mit Kindern echt nicht zu empfehlen ist. Bei der Bestellung wurde trotz mehrfacher erinnerung, mehrfach etwas vergessen. Der Service war wirklich mal besser.. Schade!

Weird smell in all food items, dosa was under cooked, not at all recommended. A great joke is their Thali which consists of only two curries, no rice, no chapati nothing.

Das war das erste mal, dass ich indisches Essen gegessen habe und ich wurde absolut positiv überrascht. Ich hatte butter chicken und naan, das Hähnchen war so zart, dass es im Mund zergangen ist, das naan war fantastisch und das Preis-leistungsverhältnis ist perfekt. Die Kellnerin die uns bedient hat, war total lieb, empfehle zu 100% weiter

Bester Inder im Prenzlauer Berg. Leckers Essen, freundliche Bedienung, normalerweise sehr schnelle Zubereitung. Sehr faires Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis. Einrichtung nicht mein Fall, aber das muss jeder selbs wissen und ich gehe dort wegen des sehr guten und immer zufriedenstellenden Essens hin.

Nice and cozy indian Restaurant in prenzlauerberg. It's probably one of the cheapest indian restaurants in Berlin but the food is definitely not bad. Malai kofta and matar paneer are super good. And I always like their rotis.
