Centro Cultural Gallego in Frankfurt am Main

A friend of mine really wanted to eat here. She raves about the restaurant. I haven't had paella in a long time, and I was very happy. We ate there last Saturday, and the food was extremely disappointing. The paella was okay. The rice was completely overcooked. I've had better fried calamari before at the fish shop on Grüneburgweg, and the flan was absolutely tasteless. The first flan was served with tons of unnecessary whipped cream. I've never been served a flan and a crème caramel with so much whipped cream. So I ordered a second one without cream, but that one didn't taste like anything either. We spent €85 there altogether. So, it was absolutely not to my taste. The restaurant is like a bar. The noise was sometimes so unbearable that my friend wanted to get out of the place as quickly as possible.

We had a reservation for 13 people, but actually, no more than 10 people could have sat there... Unfortunately, it wasn't ideal. We wanted the fish soup first, followed by the tapas... Unfortunately, that didn't work out. Instead, they brought calamari instead of grilled baby calamari... The waitress insisted that it was ordered that way - with one order, I clearly heard that they had ordered baby calamari... These were only brought very quickly after being asked for... The other person then resigned himself and ate the calamari... The tapas were okay, but having to order and pay for the bread separately is a real no-go.... The main courses arrived quite late... But they were all very good. The service was quick and very friendly.... It's always full, and that speaks for itself, but some things should be reconsidered.... Only accept reservations if the people can sit comfortably, bread for €2.... How are some of the tapas supposed to be eaten without bread, e.g. B. The appetizer plate with salami, cheese and ham?

Best Spanish food I eat so far in Frankfurt

This has nothing to do with Spanish flair at all. We sat on the first floor, the service wasn't very friendly, all 3 girls were of Eastern European descent (nothing against being Eastern European but you could be a little friendlier), not a word of Spanish, totally overwhelmed. Music nothing Spanish, just boom, boom, boom. Paella tasted like frozen food. The first two times I was there it was good but this time, no. I'm very disappointed.

Great tapas (esp. crockets). Sangria was too sweet for me, but not bad. The service was not good unfortunately. We don't speak german so we pointed and named our orders but despite that the waitress said she can't get our orders if we speak english.. which we actually didn't really speak english since we could point at the names. So that was not nice but I believe they are understaffed so that might be the reason for the attitude. In any case, the food was really delicious. I recommend going once for the tapas. They accept cards as well.

The food was really delicious and the service was really great. The store was completely full and yet everything worked wonderfully. Absolutely recommended. In the upper part you could bring in more of a Spanish feeling with a little decoration. We'll definitely be back.

Have been a guest here 11 times in the last 10 years. Never disappointed. The Centro Cultural Gallego is located on a desolate street with the pompous name "An der Staufenmauer" (the remains of the old city wall are really not far from it). Only parking spaces, but the “Konstabler Wache” parking garage (at least on the shortest route) is only 160 m away. For 30 years with almost unchanged staff You feel like you are in a Galician tavern It's because of the authentic food and drinks, but above all because of the furnishings, slot machines and volume level... like in Spain in the 80s. Except for a short period in the early afternoon, always well attended; often also on the rather uncomfortable two upper floors). On the ground floor you can sit close together at the few tables, but you can also sit directly at the bar. Unfortunately, the contract with the Spanish Cerveza San Miguel no longer exists, but there is delicious Benedictine wheat beer, the sangria (€17.50 a liter) is quickly gobbled up and the wines (still from Carlos/Poalva) are all recommendable. Paella should be ordered in advance and mussels are only available in the cooler seasons.

Centro Cultural Gallego is a must-visit for authentic Spanish flavors! We've been here three times already, and our favorite spot is the bar. Reservations are a must, as it gets busy for a reason! The quality is just like in Spain—whether in Madrid or Barcelona, the flavors are spot on. So far, we’ve tried the Padrón peppers, garlic shrimp, fried calamari, patatas bravas, and sardines, and everything was absolutely delicious. Their house wine is fantastic, and they also have a great selection of Riojas for wine lovers. Definitely a must-go! 🍷🇪🇸

Wir haben Tapas für über 100 Euro bestellt 3 Personen (Spanier) waren mega Hungrig…aber wir wurden maßlos enttäuscht von der schlechten Qualität der Zutaten und Zubereitung. Dafür waren sin in unter 10 Minuten so gut wie zeitgleich auf dem Tisch was unsere Theorie von aufgewärmten fertig Produkten bestätigen würde. Leider keine weiter Empfehlung…die guten Bewertungen sind mir Rätselhaft .

Wie lecker kann Essen bitte sein! Wir haben uns quer durch die Tapas gegessen und was sollen wir sagen ALLES aber wirklich ALLES war richtig, richtig lecker!!! Wenn man auf richtige Spanier steht vom Essen bis zum Ambiente dann seid ihr hier richtig! Großartig!

Great restaurant with great and very tasty food. If you like garlic, you've come to the right place. A bit noisy guest room.

We were guests there today as a large group. The atmosphere is quite cozy, even though we sat directly at the entrance to the stairwell. The service was very friendly and took the drink order quickly. There are many cold and warm tapas, mixed salads, soups, paellas and some main courses. The fish dishes are very diverse and it is difficult to decide. The Piementos de Padron is a large portion - but with blackheads all around me I managed the portion well. Luckily I was able to try some other tapas too. The grilled salmon with fries made me very happy - it was top quality! Overall, we were all very satisfied with the food and were very full at the end. The cortado was great, but unfortunately there was no room for dessert. But from reports from those sitting next to me, the desserts were also great. We were there at lunchtime and didn't have to wait long for the food. Only the main courses took a while to arrive - but that's understandable with such a large group. A great tapas restaurant in the middle of Frankfurt.

I was there with work colleagues on Friday, for the first time. Highly recommended. Food was great. Location is very Spanish, which I like a lot and the service is really top. Wir haben im 1. Stock einen Tisch mit 6 Personen gehabt. Alle , wirklich alle Tappas waren sehr gut. Natürlich ist es laut, wir waren es ja auch, aber das macht das Flair hier eben aus. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und super freundlich . Danke, wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend hier im Centro gehabt.

Die angeblich gegrillte würzlose Stück Schweinefleisch kam wohl eher aus der Schwenkpfanne und bestand zu 1/4 aus Fett. Das Lammkotelett war hingegen schwarz. Die Pommes aus der Tüte. Der große Salat war ohne Dressing (kein Olivenöl, Essig auf dem Tisch) Gambas und Fischsuppe sollten angeblich gut gewesen sein.

Als Frankfurterin kenne ich das Centro seit Jahrzehnten. Zu meinem Geburtstag hatte ich dort vorgestern 4 Plätze reserviert. Wir durften nicht hinein, weil ich meinen Hund dabei hatte (ein mittelgroßer 12 Jahre alter ruhiger Hund). Auf der Homepage des Centro wird kein Hundeverbot erwähnt. Ich bin sehr verärgert, werde allen Freunden und Bekannten davon berichten und dieses Lokal nie mehr betreten.

I wanted to tell you about the last dinner we had at the Centro Cultural Galliego Restaurant in downtown Frankfurt. There were 9 of us at work and the restaurant is really easy to reach by subway and S-Bahn. Our boss invited us and reserved the restaurant. The food was really very tasty and delicious! We all enjoyed what was served to us. However, there was one service employee who mostly served us. She was a bit temperamental and often seemed unfriendly and rude, which dampened the mood a bit at times. Still, it was a nice evening.

Our dining experience was a bit of a mixed bag. The service was very friendly and fast, and the atmosphere and decor felt like an average bar in Spain, so there’s no lack of authenticity. We tried a selection of tapas, which were perfectly sized allowing us to sample a variety of dishes. The food itself is okay, but nothing to get excited about. The cold cuts- chorizo, jamón, salchichón, and cheese - were of average grocery store quality. The croquettes we shared, sadly were underwhelming. The bottle of wine we had with the meal was nice, but again, nothing special. You can find this wine in any Galician supermarket. One thing I found particularly noteworthy was the total absence of vermouth on the menu, given its importance in Spanish bar culture. Unfortunately the presentation of the food was lackluster. Apart from the items cooked and served in earthenware, everything else was plated with little attention to detail Overall, it was a fairly average dining experience.

It's pretty good, the seafood is very fresh, the squid rings are surprisingly tender, and the sangria they make is very delicious.

It's the 3rd time eating there. All our visits were very good experiences. The food was very good , the atmosphere : was crowded .Lots of people are having fun. I had the grilled salmon. Was really tasty.

I've heard a lot about the Central Cultural Gallego and was really curious about my first visit. Unfortunately, I was rather disappointed with my experience there. The three of us ate there and tried a few cold and warm tapas and shared a grill plate. The latter was truly underground; fried pieces of meat with fries. The tapas were okay but really nothing special. Bacon-wrapped dates, Manchego, chorizo, Serrano ham, fried sardines and patatas bravas. For me, the dishes had a rather bland taste and everything was served carelessly. No dish really convinced me! The service was good and attentive. We were able to express our wishes and the dishes all arrived that way. The atomic sphere looked authentic and quaint. Just like I would imagine in a tapas bar. It's just very loud in the restaurant. It is therefore not suitable for longer and pleasant conversations. All in all, there is potential for improvement.

meine freunde und ich haben tapas gegessen und wein/bier/schnapps getrunken. die "roma" kellnerin mit der spange war extrem unhöflich und arrogant, mit einem falschen lächeln. wir haben sie gefragt, wer die besten kunden sind. sie sagte, dass diejenigen, die trinkgueld geben, die besten sind, und dass die marokkaner die schlimmsten sind, weil sie schreien und schmutzig sind. sie war unhöflich zu einigen kunden und zu ihren kollegen. essen und getränke waren ok, aber der service war schrecklich. null sterne.

Great food, brought to the table quickly, can really be recommended. When we ordered, one menu didn't come, but another one was too much, but that can happen at this company. You have to take it easy in Spanish. The seating is a bit cramped, so you can't be shy when the waiter runs into you 10 times. Priced homogeneously.

The typical Spanish restaurant Centro Cultural Gallego in Frankfurt am Main is a particularly hot tip if you like urban Spanish tapas cuisine. The various tapas are very tasty and of very good quality. I especially want the meatballs in 🍅 Tomato sauce, as well as the delicious croquettes with cod, really very 😋 delicious. The Rioja is tasty but could be a little better tempered. The waitresses have a natural Spanish warmth and are very good hosts and hostesses. The bar is also rustic with bar stools and fresh, cool San Miguel beer. A really good address for delicious Spanish cuisine.

Seafood dishes are delicious. However, with all the doors wide open, the staff member smoked outside the door. All the smoke came in and it was difficult to breathe and it was unpleasant.

A real piece of Spain in the middle of the city, with a great atmosphere. The decor is a bit rustic, but it makes the whole thing cozy. There are typical Galician tapas at a fair price and football games with Spanish participation are broadcast. Highly Recommended.

Perfect for a little bit of real Spain feeling. And by this I mean the casual family atmosphere where you can watch football with delicious snacks and laugh louder without the whole crowd looking at you in horror. Love it!

Food was ok. Prices are really steep these days, we ate for 80 for two and didn't feel particularly full. Without a reservation you won't be able to get very far here, even during the week.

Agregué esta puntuación hace un año en opiniones de google y resulta que al darles una estrella estoy infringiendo las normas, vi que esto le pasó también a otra persona de los comentarios, así no me extraña que tengan tan buen puntaje. Pues aquí vuelvo a dar mi opinión: la comida no me gustó en absoluto, la tortilla de patata estaba super seca y todos los otros platos (calamares y croquetas), estaban grasosos y salados. No recomiendo el restaurante para nada y espero que este comentario no lo borren.

Bad service...the arrogant waitress and the dishes with very small portions...they serve less and less food....This restaurant has lost its good service and its generosity...the worst thing about Frankfurt, do not go here because you lose your money ..there are better places with better service...I do not recommend this place....

I visited this place in June and put a negative review because of my bad experience there. Today I receive an email from Google telling me that my review must be proven since it negatively affects the business, and that they have sent a complaint asking for it to be removed since they consider that the review is false and can go to the Federal Court of Justice . Well, I'm writing a review again and this time I'm attaching the geolocated photographs I took that day of the dishes I ordered and rated in my previous review. A salad that looked like soup, and some anchovies that, despite asking them to please fry them again because they were soft, did not improve either. I don't think they even bothered to drain the oil before serving them.

I got tired of sausages and meat, so I wanted to eat seafood, so I googled it. It seems to be a popular restaurant and was already full by 6:30, so we were allowed in until 8:00. Every menu that comes out is delicious. A valuable restaurant in Frankfurt, where there is little delicious seafood. It was about €70 for two people. It was my first time in Germany, and even though I can't speak much, I managed to do it, so I hope everyone has the courage to enjoy it.
