Wir hatten Salat, einen Smashburger und Filetsteak. Der Salat war wirklich gut, frisch, knackig und lecker. Das Fleisch im Smashburger war köstlich. Es lag vorne auf dem Burger, nicht wie in anderen Burgerläden, wo so viele Soßen draufgeklatscht werden. Der Burger von Cengos war aber wirklich lecker. Das Steak war auch super. Wir hatten es medium-well bestellt und es war auch medium-well. Mein einziger Verbesserungsvorschlag wäre, die Soße und Beilage kostenlos zur Auswahl anzubieten, ohne extra zu berechnen. Aber insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden.

​Wir waren gestern zu zweit im Cengos Steakhouse und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Da wir beide selbst aus der Gastronomie kommen (Küchenleitung und Serviceleitung), haben wir einen geschulten Blick für Qualität – und die hat hier absolut überzeugt! ​Was uns besonders gefallen hat: ​Das Fleisch: Wir hatten das Dry Aged 380g Rib-Eye , das geschmacklich wirklich hervorragend und von sehr guter Qualität war. ​Die Beilagen: Alles war sehr lecker und fein abgeschmeckt. ​Service: Ein großes Lob an das Team – sehr aufmerksam, flink und zuvorzukommend. ​Präsentation: Die Idee, die hausgemachten Limonaden in schicken Karaffen zu servieren, fanden wir extrem cool und kreativ. ​Ein fachlicher Hinweis zur Perfektion: Bei der Garstufe hätte das Fleisch vielleicht zwei Minuten weniger Hitze vertragen können. Wenn man so hochwertiges Fleisch hat, sollte man ihm nach dem Braten noch kurz die Zeit zum Ruhen gönnen, damit der Fleischsaft perfekt gebunden bleibt. ​Fazit: Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist absolut stimmig. Der Außenbereich ist zwar klein, aber gemütlich. Es war ein tolles Erlebnis und wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Burger-Fans sollten unbedingt den Double Smash Burger probieren – er ist einfach köstlich! Die Atmosphäre ist gemütlich und entspannt, perfekt, um sich zurückzulehnen und das Essen zu genießen. An Wochenenden kann es recht voll werden, daher empfehle ich, vorsichtshalber zu reservieren.

Das Essen war gut und lecker, daran gibt es nichts auszusetzen. Was jedoch absolut nicht in Ordnung war, ist der Vorfall am Ende unseres Besuchs. Die Kellnerin hat uns ernsthaft beschuldigt, ihr Portemonnaie genommen zu haben. Wir haben sofort klargestellt, dass das nicht stimmt. Trotzdem hielt sie zunächst an dieser Unterstellung fest. Erst ihre Kollegin stellte fest, dass sich das Portemonnaie hinten an der Theke befand. Was danach gefehlt hat, war eine Entschuldigung. Kein „Es tut mir leid“, keine Klarstellung, nichts, sie ist einfach kommentarlos weggegangen. Währenddessen hat das ganze Restaurant zu uns geschaut. Eine solche Situation ist unangenehm und rufschädigend. Dieses Verhalten ist nicht serviceorientiert und nicht kundenfreundlich. Nach einer unbegründeten Anschuldigung wäre eine aufrichtige Entschuldigung das Mindeste gewesen!!!! So etwas werde ich in meinem Umfeld definitiv weitererzählen.

Gutes Essen, Fleisch war schon sehr gut, Beilagen etwas mager und doch schon sehr teuer. Ich hatte das Chateaubriand | Rinderfilet 600g, ist sogar noch 10,00 Euro teurer geworden gegenüber meines letzten Besuches, satte 109,00 Euro. Wir waren zu 4, hatten also für ca. 480 Euro gegessen, für diesen Preis haben wir an einem viel zu kleinen Tisch gesessen und wie auch beim ersten Besuch war es wirklich frisch in dem Laden. Highclass Preise aber kein Highclass Laden. Was noch negativ auffiel war die Bedienung mit ihrem Regenbogen Armband, ich habe nicht wirklich was gegen die Bewegung aber im Service finde ich, gehört deine persönliche Einstellung nicht unbedingt den gästen präsentiert.

It remains by far the best steak (and lava cake) in and around Konstanz, but always with a certain disappointment. Why is it that every time I walk in, I'm immediately informed that my table will be used again in two hours? A no-go for me in an upscale restaurant. Why are there tables with and without tablecloths? The two of us had a bill of €190, which, for the restaurant, wasn't worth a tablecloth :) And unfortunately, the clearing away of the empty plates and glasses absolutely didn't work. Then, very quickly, you get a feeling of discomfort, and you leave (perhaps intentionally). And after paying, the service is over. If you think you'll get a "goodbye" even though the waiter walks past you a few times as you leave, and you even say goodbye quite loudly, you're mistaken. PS: Please bring a side dish like your previous potato gratin back to the menu. The current ones don't do justice to the damn good meat. Corn on the cob is available at the cheap, wannabe steakhouse.

I highly recommend Cengos. Even though we had to postpone our reservation by an hour on a busy Friday evening and then showed up early, another table was quickly made available for us. We definitely didn't take it for granted and it was very accommodating. We then had a very pleasant evening in a very pleasant atmosphere with very comfortable chairs. For dinner, we had burgers and steaks from across the menu, and everything was delicious and of good quality. The tiramisu and cheesecake for dessert were also very, very delicious and highly recommended. We are very impressed with our first visit to Cengos and will definitely be back.

Two of us were there on a Saturday evening and had reserved a table in advance. Very nice ambiance, and we received a very friendly welcome. For starters, we shared the prawns in oil. They were served with a bread basket beforehand. The prawns in oil were exceptionally delicious. For the main course, I had the rib-eye with a side dish of corn on the cob. I've never eaten such good meat! It practically melted in your mouth. The desired degree of doneness (medium-rare) was perfectly cooked. The meat was perfectly seasoned in my opinion. The service was extremely attentive and friendly. My Lillet Peach was also delicious! A great meal and a wonderful evening thanks to the team! Thank you very much, we'll be back.

The meat was cooked to perfection – tender, juicy, and flavorful, making every bite a delight. The side dishes also impressed with their freshness, loving preparation, and appealing presentation, pleasing both the eye and the palate. We would especially like to highlight the service, which was exemplary in its friendliness, restraint, and professionalism. Every single member of staff was attentive without ever being intrusive, and it was clearly noticeable that they were genuinely passionate about their work. We were equally impressed by the quiet and discreet communication among the team, always careful not to disturb guests, as well as the tangible effort everyone put into providing each visitor with an unforgettable experience. The stylishly furnished ambiance, offering a successful blend of modern elegance and cozy comfort, perfectly rounded off the evening and made us feel from the very first moment that we weren't just guests, but welcomed friends. And although our journey from Pforzheim always involves a bit of a journey, every single kilometer is worth it, because what awaits us here is far more than just dinner—it's a combination of enjoyment, hospitality, and atmosphere that is second to none. 🌟 Solid steak with room for improvement – Cengos Steakhouse Konstanz As a South American barbecue and meat lover, I'm constantly looking for that certain something. After a few disappointments in Konstanz's steak scene (RIP Heuboden, Hexenküche unfortunately also lost out), I gave Cengos a chance. 🕒 The first impression was unfortunately not very inviting – according to the website, it opens at 3:00 PM, but actually only at 5:00 PM. A two-hour wait at a nearby restaurant wasn't the ideal start. 🎵 The dining room is a pleasant surprise: stylish, modern, and inviting. The music could be a bit more subdued. The young service team is friendly, but seems more like student interns – charming, but still inexperienced. 🥩 Ribeye: wonderfully tender and full of flavor. Flap meat: also good, but I've had better elsewhere. The side dishes are solid, nothing special – skin-on fries are just fries, and the baked potato is cooked properly. 🌬️ Unfortunately, as the number of guests increased, we noticed that grill smoke from the kitchen was unpleasantly spreading throughout the dining room. A detail that somewhat spoiled the overall experience. 💸 Price-wise, it's at the upper end of Konstanz – quality-wise, it's still a long way from Zurich's Butchers Table, although the latter is also in a different price league. ✅ Conclusion: If you love steaks, you should try Cengos. It's not perfect, but definitely recommended – I'll be back.

Two of us ate at Cengos Steakhouse. Unfortunately, the visit was rather disappointing. Although the restaurant was fairly empty, we had to wait an unusually long time for our food. I had ordered a porterhouse steak, which is traditionally served on a large self-serve plate—which is why they usually bring extra plates. A server brought two warm plates with the note, "These are for the porterhouse." This seemed reasonable at first, but I was the only one who had ordered the porterhouse—my wife had her own rib-eye steak. Shortly afterward, another server arrived with the rib-eye and appeared confused as to why my wife already had a plate. She then set it aside. Overall, the process seemed somewhat disorganized. Unfortunately, neither dish impressed us in terms of flavor. The rib-eye was barely seasoned, lacked any salt—and there was no salt or pepper on the table, which is something you'd expect in a steakhouse. Both the rib-eye and my porterhouse were very oily, and the meat quality in both dishes didn't live up to what you'd expect from a specialized steakhouse—especially not in this price range. Conclusion: While the ambiance and presentation were generally fine, the food unfortunately fell short of our expectations. The meat quality, seasoning, and preparation of both dishes left a lot to be desired. For a steakhouse priced at the higher end, it lacked depth of flavor and precision craftsmanship. A return visit is therefore out of the question for us.

The food (in my case, a burger) tasted delicious, but not what I expected for €18. There was no lettuce, no tomatoes, no onions on the burger – basically just two small patties (together about 120g), two slices of cheese, and a brioche bun (bought in, not homemade). So, for a maximum of €8-10 including fries, it would have been okay, but €18 for this burger is pretty cheeky in my opinion. They also have the deluxe burger, which includes salad and other items – it's also really unusual to add deluxe lettuce, tomatoes, and onions and an extra mayo. We're now moving on, hungry, and will see if we can get something else to eat. By the way, the restaurant is quite empty during prime time, and in my opinion, the waiters take too long to serve us. There's a sense of humor, but you should be careful whether the person you're serving understands it.

We recently went to Cengos Steakhouse, and it was truly delicious 😋. We had the sirloin steak with fries, asparagus, and vegetables twice – everything was perfectly prepared, beautifully presented, and tasted absolutely delicious 🥩🍟🥦. To finish off, we had the cheesecake – also delicious and highly recommended. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. They even asked about the doneness, and everything was explained in detail and served exactly as we wanted it. One small downside: It would have been nice to have some high-quality salt at the table so we could add a little extra seasoning ourselves – sometimes a little something like that makes all the difference. For the price, it would also be nice if an additional side dish was included. But otherwise, everything was really great 🙌. Very good food, great service – we'd love to come back! 💯

The following concerns a visit on December 24 (better late than never?). Food: Quite good. I'm no expert, but they seem to know what they're doing with meat here. One drawback: The side dishes (fried potatoes and grilled vegetables) were overly fatty. This unfortunately detracted from the enjoyment of the meal, especially since the meat cuts were already substantial enough. One or five tablespoons less oil, and it would have been perfect. Atmosphere: Cengos is busy, which is also reflected in the tight time slots. As a greedy eater, I prefer something more relaxed. However, we knew about the 1.5-hour time slots when booking online and wanted to try Cengos, so this was fine for us. What wasn't okay was that so much time passed between the quick order taking and the receipt of our food that we effectively only had 35 minutes to wolf down our food. The two of us had the aforementioned side dishes, a piece of Wagyu, and a plateful of meat each. This was the absolute opposite of enjoyable. Service: Nevertheless, I asked our server if our time slot could be adjusted under these suboptimal circumstances. The lady then called over a bearded colleague (shift manager? Boss?): Unfortunately, he couldn't extend our table, as the next booking for that follows directly after ours. But would it be okay if we were moved to another table that would become available afterwards? Yes, that would be fine. The next guests, however, showed up a few minutes early – including a Karen, who acted unnecessarily aggressively to claim his table. So we interrupted our dinner for half a dozen minutes and sat at the bar (eating at the bar would have been a bit too uncomfortable) before the guy got even louder with the staff... and before our alternative table became available. For the inconvenience, we received profuse apologies and dessert on the house. My point is: Things should have gone differently, clearly. But the staff (especially the bearded gentleman and the young man at the bar, who, given my ruined appetite, encouraged me to replace my apology dessert with an apology wine) were consistently understanding and solution-oriented. Shit happens. How you deal with matters. I really hope the time slots can be staggered in the future: I think 2.5 hours would be necessary to properly appreciate the steaks. I recommend Cengos to meat lovers based on the attitude I encountered there. Ask for the side dishes if "lower fat" is now standard. And if not, ask if you can get it lower fat. Try the dessert, too—I stole a spoonful or five from my companion, and it was very good ;)

Over a year ago, it was still very good... today, it's very disappointing. The burgers were bad, brioche from Aldi, that's what they tasted like, and the sauce was greasy. The fries were okay, but I almost had to use a magnifying glass to find the extra sauce for the fries, €2.50. Steaks are great. Both the quality of the meat and the preparation were absolutely spot on. Side dishes fall off a bit (hence a star deduction). Unfortunately, the service was sometimes subpar. For example, we had ordered several flat wines (> €100 per bottle), had to ask for refills several times and our request to decant the second and third bottles was only accepted under protest and the wine was decanted behind the counter (absolute no-go ). There was also no refill or any other question as to whether you would like anything else. The very young service staff seemed disinterested and even annoyed. The absolute disappointment was that in the end it wasn't possible to call us a taxi (despite a very good tip). In this price category, not only the food but also the service should be good. Alternatives that are comparable in price, such as Friedrichs, show how it works.

As soon as you enter the restaurant it becomes clear: quality comes first here. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the staff warm and extremely competent - and the menu will make any steak lover's heart beat faster. I had the pleasure of sampling some of the menu's highlights and each dish was in a class of its own. The Wagyu steak was a real treat: tender like butter, with a marbling that made every bite a pure pleasure. It literally melts in your mouth and is wonderfully complemented by the perfectly coordinated side dishes. The tomahawk steak was also a masterpiece: juicy, intensely flavored and cooked to perfection. The impressive presentation at the table made the experience even more special. And for anyone looking for the perfect balance between tender and savory, the Chateaubriand was a revelation. The fine texture and the elegant spice completely impressed me.

It was a nice evening in the restaurant, nice staff, delicious starters and drinks, but the meat tasted miserable after a small note to the waiter, the statement was quickly swept under the table and the topic of dessert was brought up to distract from the topic. I found it very unfortunate. The Rip Eye was dry aged so the classic but unfortunately it had nothing to do with a classic, it was too hard to dry and simply not dry aged!

Die 3 Sterne ergeben sich einigermassen aus Anstand. Wir waren zu 5 und haben von Burger bis hin zu Steak, welches gemäss Menükarte 650 Gramm wiegen sollte, bestellt, und bekommen haben wir mindestens 300 gramm Knochen und noch etwa 100 Gramm Fette - sprich vielleicht 200 Gramm Fleisch. Bei den Burgerpattys waren wir geschmacklich nicht überzeugt, es schmeckte irgendwie nach Schaf. Für 225 Euro in Konstanz haben wir zumindest erwartet, dass wir alle satt werden, was nicht der Fall war. Werden es auf jeden Fall nicht widerholen. Immerhin war der Service aufgestellt und freundlich.

There were seven of us and we were allowed to sit at the large table in the separate back part. The service was very courteous and friendly, we felt warmly welcome from the first moment. There is nothing to criticize about the menu. We chose Chateau Briand and flapmeat steak, with fries, vegetables and various sauces. We don't regret our choice. The wait for our main courses was long but what was served was worth the wait! The desserts were also delicious and rounded off the evening well. I will definitely eat here again next time in Konstanz.

Unfortunately we had to turn the 5 stars into 3 stars 😞! After a year's break, we booked and visited Cengos again with great anticipation based on our visit two years ago. Cengos is actually a premium steakhouse with corresponding pricing. We were welcomed in a friendly and pleasant manner. The ambience was a bit surprising for us, 2-3 tables were set with tablecloths including glasses for water and wine. as you can expect for a premium restaurant or as we did from our visit at the time. We were given a bare table without anything except the cutlery for 2 people. Accordingly, the desire for the full program disappeared right at the beginning, as originally planned. Unfortunately, to my chagrin, my wife was in a good mood until then. The drink order was on the table quickly! Unfortunately, the service did not present any recommendations from the kitchen, as was the case with guests who arrived a little later. Accordingly, we ordered the food that the menu provided: - Chicken burgers -Double burgers - each with fries The food came after just a few minutes! - On a plastic cafeteria tray - The burgers in an open paper bag - The fries are nice in a small sideboard We couldn't believe it all and felt like we were at Burger King or McDonald's. Unfortunately, our empty glasses were ignored by the service and we didn't feel like lingering any longer. The net visit would actually only have lasted from 5:45 p.m. to 6:10 p.m., but by fighting for a cappuccino and an espresso, we extended the visit to 6:25 p.m. We are actually used to staying longer in the upscale catering sector, drinking/eating extensively and then having to make new plans for the evening. 2 years ago we all got the finest here and spent the evening comfortably. Unfortunately there was nothing left of it today!!! The quality of the food was absolutely excellent, but the presentation was a disaster. We would have expected at least plates! Maybe the operator has changed or it is a new concept. If it is a new concept, then we are no longer in the upscale gastronomy sector, but in the upscale fast food sector. Conclusion: We personally were very disappointed with Cengos and the service this evening. The only thing we would like to single out in terms of service is the only young lady who was in service from 6 p.m. She had only embodied and shown attention. In our experience, a premium restaurant also has appropriate service and, above all, an appropriate ambience, including setting the tables. Unfortunately, none of that was available here today! So far, the visit to Cengos has been a fixed date every year, we'll have to think about it! We would like to make it clear once again that the quality of the food is top and high quality!!!! ------------------------------------------------ Sensational! We were guests last night and it was a perfect evening. Very pleasant service who gave us a great table inside. Then the culinary journey began in perfection. Appetizer: Caprese salad with buffalo mozzarella And Beef Lokum (sensationally to the point) Main course: Buffalo platter for 2 (2 buffalo steaks at least 180g each, pasta, shrimp, vegetables and buffalo mozzarella). Everything served perfectly to the point. Dessert: NY cheesecake on salted caramel Everything was top class! The ambience is also very nice and rustic. Nice and service that is attentive without being intrusive. We often visit the fine European gastronomy and can say with conviction that Cengos can compete with upscale gastronomy with these dishes. Price-performance ratio is very, very good. The next visit is planned! P.s. In picture 2 you can only see part of the buffalo plate on the plate. We were really looking forward to some delicious meat, but but. We ordered the Chateaubriand for 2,600 grams, 104 euros. Have never ever experienced that a Chateaubriand of 600 grams consists of 7 end pieces. When we told the waiter about this, he had no understanding at all, went off to talk to the chef and came back with a long explanation about everything and wanted to give something or other. We politely declined this and of course paid for what we had not received. Namely, a real piece of Chateaubriand. It should be said that we both have butcher training, so we know what we are talking about. We will never come again, such a high price for 7 end pieces Chateubriand, it's just not right. We thank you many times for your reply. But you still haven't gotten the message. Finally we get to have a 1.2kg Tomahawk without any judgement 😆 (Yup, when we tried to order a 1.2kg tomahawk in Bangkok we usually get a comment like it's too big for just the two of us 😝) . The meat is of good quality, tender and juicy. We ordered a medium rare. The price is fair, the wine is good, although the sparkling wine could have been more chilled/cold (I blame the weather 😝). Bread and butter are good. The staffs are friendly. Too bad it's a bit too hot inside and also super hot outside. If there is a small fan inside, it would have been perfect. But I guess that's a part of summer. We will definitely come back again 😋 #mmwhattoeatingermany

Since I've visited Cengo's Steakhouse very, very often, it's time for a review. Basically, there is only one small thing that I have to complain about, but nonetheless, as I said, it is a small thing, which is why it still gives 5 out of 5 stars in all categories. First of all, I find the atmosphere in the restaurant (very clean, by the way) very suitable and pleasant. Since I've been there many times now, the young waiter seems to know us well and always remembers us - which of course makes us very happy and whatever we can give back. The service is not only attentive, but also quick and competent and is happy to fulfill small "special requests" here and there (extra ice or lemon in the drink, etc.) The food is really more than just very good and as Cengos advertises, it's not just the best steaks in town, but the best steaks I know. However, there are not only steaks, but also good starters and also the best smashed burger, which I always like to have as there is no such thing nearby, although Konstanz has many different burger shops. The desserts are also very tasty and, like the rest of the meal, always hit the spot. Together with the atmosphere and the service, I always enjoy visiting Cengos and am already looking forward to the next time. The only little thing I noticed is the adjusted prices, but that's understandable. Not only do we have higher costs to pay, but so does Cengo's Steakhouse. Of course, a price increase is always annoying, but nevertheless understandable and absolutely justified due to the quality. Maybe I'm still "spoiled" by the prices in the steakhouse 2-3 years ago, but that was a while ago. Cengos Steakhouse gets a very clear recommendation from me and we look forward to eating the Smashed Burger or the Denver Steak again soon!

My girlfriend and I spent an evening together in the restaurant. We each ordered a starter and a main course. Some baguette bread and olives were served beforehand. The Caesar salad was good, the chicken that was ordered with it was very good. The pimientos were at best standard, unfortunately the salt was too economical. The truffle pasta was equally good. But now to the crucial point, which is why I can only give it 2 stars. The Wagyu (supposedly A5) tasted like a normal and average rump steak, which I can get in any mediocre restaurant for €20-25. With all my love, that was just cheeky in terms of price/performance. Please don't get me wrong, the steak was tender and tasted good. For an adequate price I would have given a lot more purely for the taste. For a Wagyu of this category, that was just a disgrace. What I found just as irritating was that we were immediately called names and treated like we were in a student dorm. This also matched the feeling of sitting back to back at a very slanted table outside. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant!

The steakhouse was fully booked today and also very popular, which is understandable given the food. I ate a Waygu rump steak with chimichurri and it was very tasty, I just said to the waiter, “It tastes better than chocolate.” I also ordered a fillet steak with skin-on fries and Café de Paris sauce, I have to say I haven't come across something so delicious very often. Finally there was a Mojito and a Baileys. If I didn't live so far away, I would eat there more often. Thank you for the delicious food and keep it up. Laute patzige Antwort: Habe ich keine. Es ist meine Pause. Wir sind im freien Land. Ich habe andere Mitarbeiterin an der Kasse nach der Vorgesetzten gefragt. Sie kannte das Wort "Vorgesetzte" nicht: Was ist das? Wollen Sie Kaffee? Nun, wenn Suppengrün so ein Verständnis vom "freien Land" und der Kundenfreundlichkeit hat, dann kriegt man die wässrigen lauwarmen Süppchen zum hohen Preis auch woanders in Konstanz. Ein tolles Restaurant! Wir hatten ein wunderbares Familienessen in diesem Restaurant. Der Service: Ein sehr herzlicher Empfang und ein tadelloser Service während des gesamten Essens (aufmerksam, effizient und freundlich). Das Essen: Großzügige Portionen von guter Qualität. Die Speisekarte ist umfangreich (nur auf Deutsch). Das Ambiente: Ein großer, eher schlichter Speisesaal ohne besondere Dekoration. Kurz gesagt: Dieses Restaurant können wir wärmstens empfehlen. Tipp: Reservierung unbedingt erforderlich!

Es gab wohl am 20.1.2025 eine Neueröffnung. Meine erste Erfahrung beim neuen Betreiber war top. Der Laden renoviert und sehr ordentlich, Personal freundlich und der Dönerteller war lecker. Standard Spieß, kein "besonderes" Fleisch aber schmackhaft und sehr gut gegrillt, knackige Zutaten, sehr gutes Brot dazu und alle Wünsche berücksichtigt. Für die große Portion war der Preis fair, ich komme wieder :) Danke!
