Caspari in Hamburg

Quaint restaurant, pleasant atmosphere, delicious food 😀

Unfortunately we didn't like the food. We were there with a large group and pretty much everyone had something to complain about (which isn't because we're particularly picky). I had to look for the mushrooms in my mushroom pan. It was actually a potato casserole. The pancake was drowned in fat and served with thawed, mushy and inedible frozen raspberries. The espresso was lukewarm. The rhubarb spritzer was completely watered down. That was just my meal. Don't even get me started on the other people's. It was also extremely drafty. I wasn't the only one at our table who was cold. The three stars are only for the really charming service and because you are allowed to bring dogs.

We ordered a fish plate, a grilled caspari plate, fish & chips, onion rings, the food is just terrible, I don’t recommend it at all, the men’s room looks like after the apocalypse, all covered in graffiti and dirty. The service was nice. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

The good thing first: I found the interior design tasteful (rustic but not too much), and the service was really very friendly and on point. But a look at the huge menu didn't suggest anything good: if you offer everything from pasta and pizza to steak and schnitzel to burgers, fish, salads and grilled dishes, then... ...well, then the only way to do that is to do a lot of things with convenience products. And that's how it was. We had tortellini carbonara and schnitzel, and as soon as the plates were on the table there was that typical ready-made sauce smell. The tortellini tasted cheap, the sauce was like a bag and the schnitzel was definitely fried frozen food. I (and everyone else) could have done this better at home with little effort, you don't have to go out to eat and pay for it. So, despite the nice atmosphere and great staff, we probably won't go here again, there are better alternatives in Harburg. Oh, by the way, the pizza looked delicious and was homemade by pizza makers. I can well imagine that they are the best choice for this restaurant.

The only downer is that you can only pay in cash or by debit card. This is simply not up to date and can no longer be tolerated in 2025. If globally recognized payment methods are accepted, 5/5 The food was excellent. The service was also very friendly. Gladly again! :)

"Terrific" You can already call my family and I regular customers. I haven't even seen the staff in a bad mood without seeing it as a necessity. Any extra request will be gladly accommodated. The food is consistently delicious and the price-performance ratio is just right. Always happy again, see you next month

Mixture between pub and bistro in Harburg's gastronomy street. I walked past the very poorly lit entrance twice. Very loud ambience spiced up by music (acoustic pollution!). Unfortunately I had a rather dry farmer's breakfast...edible but not particularly tasty. Nice and very attentive but somewhat overwhelmed service. Another visit possible but not planned.

Spontaneously decided on the restaurant on a Friday evening and still managed to get a seat. But I would advise reserving a table. The waitresses were all very nice and friendly, which created a very familiar atmosphere. The drinks and appetizers came very quickly, despite the fact that the shop was very busy during the Christmas season. The burgers came at the right intervals and were great. Sweet potato fries were very tasty and crispy. I also got my money's worth from the vegan burger. Highly recommended.

We were visiting our son in Hamburg again and were very happy to get a table at Caspari. The food was again very tasty and the service was attentive and very friendly. We would love to come back

It was very nice again at Caspari. Unfortunately there were very loud guests at the next table.😞 And unfortunately the quieter side area was very cold. I'm someone who sweats rather than freezes. But the food and service was great!!

Were there for the first time today. Service very nice and attentive. Food 1A. Steak on point. Pizza highly recommended, as well as the burgers. Service always checks whether everything is good and whether you need anything. Very nice, not intrusive. Homemade lemonade highly recommended! Therefore the food is great. Drinks top. Service top. Won't be our last time there. Price performance great.

A nice restaurant with a good selection. The pizza is good but there's something else going on, I wish they weren't put in the oven in sheet pans. So they seem a little fried and greasy. The service is always very friendly and helpful but sometimes seems to be understaffed. Sometimes you have to wait longer. The ambience is great, very cozy and inviting. Despite the small points of criticism, it is a store that you should check out. Prices are reasonable.

After many years we ate here again. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our food. The cheese nachos were not fresh and sticky and were briefly gratinated with bagged cheese. The bruschetta was delicious. We had 1x farmer's schnitzel and cheese maccaroni schnitzel. Both were from the frying pan, far too hard, dry and partly black. We couldn't eat either and had to return it. Our daughter had a chicken burger, also frozen and from the fryer. She didn't want to eat either. The really, really nice waitress Mareike took one meal off our bill, which of course should have been the case but couldn't save the evening. P.S. The reception in the form of a male person in a black T-shirt and pants, visibly fully tattooed, who constantly looked at our daughter is more than inappropriate.

So the atmosphere is old and cozy. There is a lot of choice but not too much food and it is very delicious. Service was very, very friendly, all in all you couldn't expect more.

I've been to Caspari several times now and have always been very satisfied. The food - in addition to pizza and pasta, there are burgers, steaks etc - is very tasty, the service is (child-)friendly and the rustic ambience in the Lämmertwiete is nice. We would love to come back.

Not that much choice. Lots of fatty dishes. Too little salad side dish or none. You should probably get pizza.

Used to be great! There is still potential today, but unfortunately it is no longer used at all. Service: The service is always super nice and helpful. Also usually quick and really hard. That's the only convincing thing here. Eat: The quality has decreased. The food now varies greatly. Sometimes it's ok, but sometimes it's really bland and not recommended, almost even “disgusting”. Unfortunately, since the prices were raised, the price-performance ratio here is no longer right. Ambiance: It used to be very comfortable, but is now showing its age. Almost even run down. The toilets are a disaster, the smell of urine sometimes even penetrates into the guest room and therefore certainly into the adjacent open kitchen.

Edit: Unfortunately the Caspari has deteriorated significantly. The atmosphere is very cozy and the staff are always friendly and great! However, the prices are no longer justified for what you get. The food today, starter and main course, were tasteless to the point of "disgusting", so we were happy to forego dessert. Shame about the money. Second point are the toilets... everything is smeared, broken, dirty and poorly repaired. The smell of urine is so strong that it extends into the restaurant. I had significantly better sanitary facilities at rest areas.

The food is good, the prices correspond to the quality, unfortunately the cleanliness is at the level of one... The toilet is filthy... where is the German hygiene 🫣

If you expect a **kitchen, you can only sit on designer furniture, and for that would be happy to pay at least three times as much, you shouldn't come here. But if you like to order your food from the huge selection at surprisingly low prices from the very friendly service staff, you have done everything right. We would definitely like to come back.

Well, it rocked quite nicely from the outside down to the inside. Food quite good, nothing special. Sticker for card payment on the door...Visa doesn't work. Employees pointed this out...it was rude. Rather not.

After years we went back to Caspari, but unfortunately I wasn't impressed. Nothing has changed there for years, on the contrary it has completely lost its charm. If you look closely, you can find something everywhere that is past its prime. We were given a very awkward spot, very close to the toilet. When the door opened, the smell came through the restaurant. The wall looked terrible, there were dowels sticking out everywhere. The food was edible, but the chef can't fry fried eggs, so I would have been embarrassed to serve something like that to paying people. The rest was so-so, rather average.

Very good home-made menus with no frills, very attentive and prompt service at absolutely correct prices. The small ambience extractor is located on the edge of a pedestrian zone with corresponding traffic noise...

Nice nightlife spot in Harburg's cultural center. Cocktails and food good and tasty. Prices fair. Service attentive. Atmosphere very good. But: Sanitary facilities are unreasonable and in a dilapidated condition, urgently in need of renovation. The Caspari is great if you want to go out in the evening in Harburg, mixed crowd and good atmosphere. Also suitable for larger groups.

Organized class reunions here after 25 years. Diverse menu for every taste and budget. Everyone really liked it!

So where do I start... the people who served me made racist comments. I generally felt very uncomfortable even though I really enjoyed what I got. I am very conflicted because on the one hand I was able to spend a very pleasant time with my friends but it was spoiled by the strange service. The frozen daiquiri is incredibly recommended. You can't go wrong at happy hour.

The place wasn't for me at all, the two meals we had tasted like ravioli from a can.

We recommend! Nice restaurant in a rustic, historical atmosphere, very courteous staff, very good price/performance ratio. We ate there almost every evening during our stay in Hamburg, and it was the best thing we could do. Once I heard an older gentleman at the next table say: "I've rarely had such good pizza before," and I can only confirm that. But the other dishes on offer are also very tasty and varied at an acceptable price. If we come near Hamburg again, our path will definitely take us there again! ADDENDUM: Very unfortunate that there was a fire there on July 11, 2024. I really hope that the owners don't have any major problems with the relevant insurance companies before the damage restoration work begins!

We are very happy to have found a great restaurant for ourselves. We regularly find space there and are always greeted in a very friendly manner. We tried hedgehog dishes and there was always a special flavor to be found. Not run of the mill but always seasoned a little differently. Simply delicious. After the fire last night, we are eagerly hoping for the reopening and wish all employees the best.

Great pub with delicious food and super friendly service staff. Prices are absolutely okay and there is something for everyone. Even if you're a vegetarian, it's fun to eat there.

I was actually always happy with CASPARI, especially with the fitness plate. This time it would be disappointing: few vegetables and almost cold.

Very nice to sit outside in the Lämmertwiete in summer weather, inside there is a rustic atmosphere. The mozzarella/tomato pizza was okay, tortellini with a lot of sauce was very disappointing - unfortunately... drinks and service were great.

Great shop, great fresh food. Super nice service and if you want to watch football across the street you can even order your food here!! More is not possible.

Wir gehen schon seit vielen Jahren, in regelmäßigen Abständen, ins Caspari, aber der letzte Besuch , nach doch längerer Zeit, gab mir sehr zu Denken. Die Einrichtung im Gastraum ist ziehmlich heruntergekommen, dazu war es unerträglich laut im Gastraum und von den Toiletten wollen wir gar nicht erst reden.Man mochte nichts mit den Händen berühren. Die Angestellten waren wie immer sehr nett . Das Essen war auch gut aber nicht , wie sonst, sehr gut. Unter'm Strich: Das Niveau ist ganz schön abgestiegen. Schade. Aber das betrifft leider viele Restaurants in der letzten Zeit.

Simply brilliant and super tasty

We had ordered a table for 4 people and were able to sit outside. Very nice and courteous service. For starters we chose aijoli with garlic bread. She gave the tip only 2 port. gain weight. (One portion would have been enough) 😀 the main course was delicious and filling. Nobody finished their portion. All around lovely evening.

Three of us (2 adults and a toddler) had dinner there two days in a row. Service was really top on both evenings (different staff)! Very friendly, fond of children and implemented all requests for changes perfectly. The food was very tasty (pizza and burgers) and the extra children's menu was also sufficient and the dishes were very good on both evenings. We can only recommend this restaurant to everyone and we felt very comfortable there!

Quaint shop in the old town area over two floors. It was good 20 years ago. Good selection of dishes. Prices still OK. It's better to reserve a table on the weekend. Still well attended until late.

Friendly staff, food was pretty good for the price and there was lots of choice. The rissoles were something new for me but pretty nice. Beer is cheap and plentiful, it was warm and comfy. Very cosy vibe.

Unfortunately, the portion was very sparse for the price and all in all, this visit was absolutely nothing special and unfortunately not recommended.

The atmosphere is very cozy, the girl who served us was very friendly. The pizza does not look attractive at all, but it was very delicious, they improve the presentation and it is perfect, the pasta is very very delicious, I recommend it, it comes with perfectly cooked shrimp. The drinks are just as delicious. I recommend it, I would surely return to the place.

I've known Caspari for almost 20 years now. I never had any reason to complain about anything. You can always go to Caspari. Morning, noon, evening, alone, as a couple, as a group. Everyone can find something, the prices are good, the food is impeccable. A reservation may be recommended towards the evening.

I would like to promote the catering industry with my visit and feedback: First of all, I'm happy when a restaurant has been around for a long time. This should continue like this. It is a popular pub with food. This isn't my personal case, but it doesn't necessarily have to be that way. Positive: lunch (food without extras about 9 euros), served quickly. Tips for improvement: There is a range between appearing rustic and well-kept. With a little more attention to care, a lot could be achieved without requiring higher investments. For example, wipe the standee on the table clean. Don't keep sauces and dishes so greasy. Nicer greeting of guests. Positive at the end: a good portion at lunch at a relatively low price. Suitable for many.

We were in Hamburg Harburg for 4 days as part of a business trip and visited the Caspari every evening. The price-performance ratio is absolutely right here, and the service does an outstanding job! Although the Caspari was full every evening, both drinks and food came to the table quickly and in great quality, and the service was always attentive and friendly throughout the evening. The pizzas and cocktails are particularly recommended!

Eating here since 2015.. the place never disappoints. Great Pizzas, Mediterranean Teller, Schnitzel and desserts. Beer is good too 🍺🍻

We had an appointment there for dinner on Tuesday. The atmosphere was very cozy and the food we had was great, compliments to the kitchen!! The service (with all the tattoos) was very friendly and on the ball, unfortunately she got off work around 8:30 p.m. - 9 p.m., which of course was nice for her. The service afterwards left something to be desired, although people kept walking past our table with empty glasses, no one felt it necessary to ask if we would like something to drink (there wasn't much going on) After what felt like 20 minutes of making ourselves known, we ordered another drink and then left. We would certainly have stayed longer and left our money there if the service hadn't been so slow.

Discovered the restaurant by chance. Were passing through and wow, we will always stop here now. The restaurant is located in a beautiful old alley. The house really has history. It is very cozy inside and out. The waitress was very nice and quickly showed us to the table, which she also grabbed for us since we hadn't made a reservation and it's very busy there on a Saturday evening. The prices were fair. It was delicious. The drawback was the toilets, which could use an update. Otherwise just great.

Das Essen ist sehr gut, die Bedienung freundlich, aber die Toiletten sind kaputter und dreckiger als die öffentlichen am Hauptbahnhof. Immer Dreckig, alles Kaputt, beim Fenster wurde sicher seit 10 Jahren nicht gewischt, man sieht den Rahmen nicht mal mehr vor Dreck.

Sehr schönes Lokal. Mega gemütlich und zeitgemäß! Tolle Bedienung. Super freundlich, lustig und aufmerksam. Das,Esse ar lecker, der Wein war semi, jedoch haben wir uns diesen selbst zuzuschreiben. Es gab leider keinen Frizzantino ....kennt kaum noch jemand. Der billigste "Wein" auf Erden, aber ich mag ihn nunmal 🙂 Wir waren nicht das letzte Mal da.

Essen ist gut. Service ist zwar nett, kommt aber darauf an wo man sitzt. An manchen Stellen im Restaurant, kommt da nur alle 1 Std. jemand und fragt ob man noch einen Wunsch hat oder das Geschirr abgeräumt wird.
