Casa Palmieri Ristorante in Düsseldorf

A must-visit!!! For my wife and me, this is the best Italian restaurant in the city, and it's also in a fantastic location, right next to the beautiful Hoffgarten, where you can sit outside in the summer and feel like you're in "Little New York" with the skyscrapers :-) The interior is also gorgeous and very tastefully decorated, the service is top-notch, and the food is fantastic. Yesterday, we had the business lunch as a 3-course menu: starter, pasta, and main course for an unbelievable 35 euros. I had octopus pasta with prawns and Kiko chicken breast. They're very flexible, offering great vegetarian options as well. For this quality, it's simply an amazing price. Parking is also no problem, as there's a small parking garage about 150 meters away for 2.60 euros per hour. By the way, we ate lunch there for the first time yesterday, as we were on vacation. We've been to Casa Palmieri several times in the evenings and have never been disappointed!!! Here are a few impressions and pictures from yesterday.

Especially in summer, the terrace in the Hofgarten offers an unbeatable ambiance—you interact with the city while being served and pampered with excellent food. However, the prices are quite reasonable.

Best Italian food in Düsseldorf - top quality!

The service is the perfect blend of attentiveness and discretion. The food was incredibly well-seasoned, and the wines selected by the host were wonderful. There's nothing to criticize!

The food was delicious, but the portions were very small for the price (pasta was just under €30). They constantly opened bottles of water and refilled them without asking, even after repeatedly saying you didn't want any more! After you said you didn't want any more water or dessert, the service wasn't as friendly.

The food was absolutely amazing — true chef’s plates in every sense. Best truffel gnocchi ever ate! Michelangelo is incredibly elegant and brings a refined touch to the whole experience. The waitstaff were very attentive and helpful, always quick to assist. Dining at Hofgarten is truly one of the best culinary experiences in Düsseldorf. It instantly became my favorite restaurant in the city!

Right on the corner of the Hofgarten, very close to the subway (Nordstrasse), is this very special Italian restaurant. No run-of-the-mill menu, but a good selection of lovingly prepared dishes. Plus, a fantastic wine selection. We always love coming here. Many thanks also to the owner.

Unfortunately, not anymore. Overpriced. Tiny portions. The atmosphere in the park isn't great when extended families are lying on the blanket next to your table and you're eating for €180. Questionable. Unfortunately, it can't be compared to the last visit. What a shame.

We come to Düsseldorf three or four times a year and are always thrilled just because of the amazing food at Palmieri. We always try a lot of things, as the menu is always changing. And we've never had a bad meal. Everything is always top-notch! 100% from starter to dessert. I highly recommend it to everyone. My favorite restaurant!

At the beginning of July 2025, we had the opportunity to dine on the terrace of this lovely Italian restaurant where we were very warmly welcomed by Chef Michelangelo. Particularly attentive to his customers: we wanted a pasta dish like in Naples and in no time, he prepared his pasta alla Maradona for us. It was delicious! Not to mention his mackerel, a fresh starter with great finesse of flavor. We highly recommend the place, both for the quality of the dishes and for the warm atmosphere.

Unfortunately, my visit to this restaurant was very disappointing. Just a glance at the menu made it clear that the prices bear no relation to the birth rate. Selling a 0.5-liter bottle of water at such an inflated price is simply outrageous, especially when neither the quality nor the ambiance justify it. The service also left a lot to be desired. The waiter was unfriendly, seemed annoyed, and seemed solely interested in making as much money as possible as quickly as possible. There was no warmth or attentiveness to be found here. Overall, the price-performance ratio is absolutely not right. A shame—a place I definitely cannot recommend.

I happened to be in Dusseldorf for study reasons and with some friends I discovered this little restaurant that boasts a beautiful selection of wines and authentic Italian cuisine accompanied by some French notes, to be discovered, highly recommended!! We will definitely be back!

I had a wonderful evening last night. The terrace is magnificent and the weather was wonderful. We enjoyed simple but delicious dishes! Michel Angelo, the owner, is very friendly and approachable, while maintaining the necessary distance. We can see the work that goes into the terrace, the back and forth to bring the dishes from inside to outside... it's a beautiful job, and we'll be back to enjoy the restaurant's ambiance inside in the fall!

It's also not what it used to be. Service has become very poor, even though the food is still good. Reservations are sometimes no longer binding, and upon arrival, they tell you that the reservation hasn't been confirmed for whatever reason. They also charge outrageously high cancellation fees for reservations, even for small groups – €50 per person.

We had another wonderful evening today on the terrace in the courtyard garden of Casa Palmieri. It's a wonderfully relaxed and lovely place to sit in the summer, and Michelangelo, the host, and his team create a wonderful atmosphere. The food is beautifully presented and incredibly delicious! We'd love to come back more often this summer.

Butterzartes Steak, tolle Trüffel-Tagliatelle. Als Dessert hatte meine Frau sehr leckeres Kakaobohnen-Mousse. Top Qualität und sehr freundlicher, zuvorkommender Service. Ein Gastgeber, der seine Aufgabe noch ernst nimmt. Umwerfende Weinkarte, allerdings sehr hochpreisig. Essen und Getränke allerdings jeden Euro wert. Vielen Dank für einen wunderschönen Abend.

The small, sweet corner restaurant offered enough space for 30 wedding guests to celebrate. The selected meal in several courses was perfect, as were the wines offered with it. The boss and staff were very friendly and attentive and left hardly anything to be desired. I can recommend this restaurant to anyone who is in Düsseldorf.

Super good Italian and really good personal shop. Store is very cozy and beautiful. All dishes are sensational. Wine selection here can't be beat.

I chose the restaurant for pragmatic reasons (proximity to the hotel) and didn't have high expectations. What should I say… the food made me happy. My business partner and I both chose the Mafaldine with truffled veal ragout and it was really excellent. I can hardly do it expect to be back in Düsseldorf. I would like to taste the other things on the menu. I'll be back!

My best friend was visiting from Barcelona and we couldn't make a reservation for another restaurant at short notice. When I called, a table was reserved for me right next to the window, which we found very nice. The service and the culinary experience were by far the best of the evening. When we arrived, Michelangelo and a chef came to our table and wanted to make our choice of food as easy as possible. Everything sounded so good that we couldn't decide. So after the consultation we decided on the lobster pasta, which we wanted to share, and Michelangelo asked that we get a larger portion. And several small appetizers were brought, all of which were delicious and unexpected. Also very thoughtful that we got two desserts at the end, both of which were very tasty. The lobster pasta, truffle pasta and tiramisú were incredibly delicious. I have rarely eaten Italian food so well and my best friend from Barcelona felt the same way. The restaurant looks like fine dining, very romantic, with music at the perfect volume. But the portions are significantly larger than at fine dining and the quality is really indescribably good! I love eating truffle pasta and these truffles were really special in terms of taste. Here too the truffles were not skimped on, so again great service! The tiramisú was to die for! Personally, I thought I wasn't a big tiramisú fan, but that's really changed now. I'm really very happy that we chose Casa Palmieri that evening. Great atmosphere, great service especially from Michelangelo, who was very attentive, and also really great food at a good price for the quality! I immediately decided to come again with my family and immediately told all my friends about it. For me, Casa Palmieri is now one of my 4 favorite restaurants in Düsseldorf! Gezellig ingericht restaurant, open keuken en vriendelijke bediening. Eten is lekker, maar aan de dure kant. Vlees en visgerechten bijna allemaal tussen de 50 en 70€, dat zijn Michelin sterren prijzen. Voor de wijnen geldt hetzelfde. Maar al met een al een gezellige avond en zeker niet slecht gegeten.
