Casa di Roma in Hamburg

Went to see a play in Hamburg and this was one of the restaurants that was open late. The baby calamari, veal liver with mashed potatoes and the pasta were very tasty, perfectly balanced in taste. The way the dishes were presented was also very nice to see. The staff was super friendly and often came to ask if everything was okay. The atmosphere was very quiet and the two of you could have a nice conversation. I can only recommend it to everyone for a meal for two or more.

Really a great restaurant, great food and an excellent wine selection

Sorry, the carbonara was a disappointment - egg was cooked way too hot & no guanciale to be seen. Everything else was okay. But the prices don't say "our food is just okay". And this is one of the places where you have to be VERY careful when ordering fish main courses because you might be surprised when the bill arrives. Didn't happen to me but to my colleague. First time last time - sorry again. But the ambiance is quite nice for such a huge place.

Terrible Service – Reservation Ignored, Rude Staff We booked a table for two at Casa di Roma two days in advance for February 14th from 18:00 to 20:00, and our reservation was confirmed. Today, I decided to double-check, only to be met with an incredibly rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful receptionist. He interrupted, spoke rudely, and made it clear that he did not care about the situation, dismissing us with a blunt “No. I can’t help you. Do whatever you want.” We were polite the entire time, yet he refused to check other booking records and simply told us to wait for the boss at 17:00, which was almost the start of our planned dinner. No customer service whatsoever. If he cannot assist guests, perhaps he should work elsewhere. We are beyond disappointed – our Valentine’s dinner was ruined. Sharing our experience so others can be aware.

Very classy Italian restaurant with a good selection of high-quality dishes from beef carpaccio to entrecot to truffle pasta. Exclusive wine list. The waiters are very attentive and give good recommendations. In terms of price, you have to expect at least €80 per person for the starter, main course and dessert. But it's worth it!

Great atmosphere and delicious food

My absolute favorite restaurant. Cozy atmosphere, fine cuisine, delicious wine and very friendly service. You are always greeted very friendly by the owners and given your table straight away. The service goes to great lengths to fulfill every wish and the food is simply excellent. I always enjoy coming here!! Only recommended

We ate here with the family, made a reservation and got a large table in the back of the restaurant for ourselves. The table was beautifully set and the seating was very comfortable. The children were warmly welcomed and were first given their children's meal without much chichi, which was wonderful. We had a really excellent meal in peace and quiet, were served very well and can only recommend this restaurant.

Is just in a class by itself! They have class without being snobby and love the food and the wine and very friendly and competent service. An experience!

The best mascarpone dessert ever...service great, taste great, the beef fillet was just too bloody

We were here for a 4-course menu in a larger group and it was simply amazing in terms of taste and quality. The food came for everyone almost at the same time, so the waiting time was a maximum of 2 minutes until everyone had their food. The service is very attentive, friendly and unobtrusive. Wine was refilled throughout if requested. The atmosphere is great and harmonious. We were therefore completely satisfied and will definitely come back again.

St Georg is alive and quivering in terms of taste. I used to live around the corner myself. The origin of the taste quake is the real Casa di Roma. We then consciously made it into the “original”. I was here a long time ago and a lot has happened. In the back area there are now very comfortable areas for larger groups, where you can sit between wine equipment and Louis XIII bottles. Space, but not too big. Crazy atmosphere. The service is very friendly and competent, special requests were made possible despite the Christmas stress. Gracie mille. The daily menus are very varied, the truffle pasta intermediate course is absolutely delicious. The main courses fillet, scampi or tuna tartar were very, very good. Visually and taste-wise. The Sicilian white wine was able to guide us well through the starters. For the main course we chose The Dead Arm (McLaren Vale) and a Sancerre from the Loire. Don't worry, there are tons of good Italian wines, but having such a wide, great wine list is just tempting... the dessert was on point, my sorbet wasn't too heavy. And of course, the espresso macchiato here is world class. St George, my pearl. Keep it going. See you soon again in the real “Casa di Roma”

I was eating there yesterday and the tartare was horrible! My waitress brought me the wrong food and drank my coffee. The €100 each wasn't worth it!

Nice restaurant with a good atmosphere - however, there was a bit of a draft in the restaurant where we sat because the outer door was never closed. Good menu and tasty dishes, definitely worth a visit

We had steinbeisser fillet, truffle pasta, saltimbocca, carpaccio, fennel salad with orange fillets and walnuts. Risotto with smoked salmon. All good, not excellent.

Nice atmosphere, friendly but sometimes inattentive staff. We even had to ask for a napkin and spoons with the pasta. There were 4 waitresses standing around and fooling around. Vitello and pasta with mushrooms were very good. But almost €30 for a simple pasta dish with a few porcini mushrooms is absolutely not justified.

We had a very nice dinner in Casa di Roma, veal fillet was extremely soft and cooked perfectly, chicken schnitzel was good too. Mashed potatoes are highly recommended as a side, super tasty! The restaurant is also dog friendly, waiters were very nice to move the tables to make more space for our dog🐶

Excellent italian food is a bit expensive but it's worth since it's high quality.

Highly priced... But also simply good. The meat has flavor... The tomato sauce is light on the stomach... The recommended wine tastes like what was asked for. The only thing I (a frequent oyster eater) think is the oyster prices are wrong. I always enjoy being here.

So I recently ate an encontre or whatever it's called, it's ok. The food tasted like normal meat from the pan. I would have liked it better if they had grilled it, so it tasted pretty normal. Would I eat here more often? No, would I eat here with customers? Yes.

I had the lamb fillet and was served very warmly at 10 p.m. I will definitely be a guest again and have immediately recommended the restaurant to friends!

Guys, I'm at a loss for words. It's very rare to get such great service. Food was great. Priced at 120 per person for 4 courses. Nice quiet atmosphere

It was our first time here and tried pizza. The price was ok, the first impression was quite good. Strangely, the dough was reminiscent of American pizza base, rather thick and soft. The smell was positive because of what appeared to be a fresh mixture of spices. We also forgave the waitress to be openly treated as "second choice" guests because we don't value the submissive demeanor of the service staff anyway. In retrospect, the pizza was a bit upset because it was extremely salty, it gave me heartburn, and my wife drank so much water that she became sick. So overall it's very mixed, you can go there, but you can also get quality food in many stores at a cheaper price and with less aloof staff. Given the wine consumption of the obvious regulars, 2 bottles for every three people at lunch, the food becomes a minor matter anyway ;). So this place definitely doesn't belong in the top twenty Italian restaurants in Hamburg. Too bad

We arrived late, but we were still served delicious spaghetti. Attentive service, delicious wine. Because we sat outside we can't judge the interior, but it looked good from the outside.

This restaurant was very quaint but the decor was really nice. It was quiet when we went for a late lunch. The staff was very friendly and explained the menu to us well as we spoke English and we were having Italian food in Germany! The starters were yummy, and the entrees were also very tasty and quite large portions.

A menudo es difícil encontrar una mesa para 5 , especialmente en una noche sensual en hamburguesa. ¡Pero lo encontramos! Dos de nuestra fiesta habían comido previamente en este restaurante el año anterior, así que estábamos contentos con la elección. No pudimos conseguir una mesa fuera, pero el interior y el aire acondicionado nos atrajo. Puesto de los cinco de nosotros, dos eligieron el plato a un precio más razonable en el menú - Raviolis. Pero esto no era ningún ravioli ordinario - esto era ravioli de verano vegetariano (ninguno de nosotros es vegetariano) y era absolutamente delicioso, y lleno! ¡Qué rico! La señora de Yorkshire era divertido y nos mantuvo vigilados 5 muchachos (hombres adultos mucho mayores tbh) . . Algunos tenían desierto, uno tenía una antigua - pero todos acordamos que la elección era correcta! ¿Regresaríamos? ¡Un rotundo SI!

Nur für Menschen, die Spezialfleischgerichte wie vergoldete Seehundbabys oder so verspeisen wollen... Teuer, nicht wirklich freundlich, keine Auswahl an vegetarischen Speisen, anders als von einem Italiener erwartet, kaum Pasta und Pizza.

A top Italian with top service and great dishes and wine selection. Due to the proximity to the main train station, if you sit outside you will sometimes experience a bizarre performance by "people" who, if you are sensitive and want to have peace and quiet while eating, distract you from these culinary dreams. That's why only 3 stars for the ambience, as I can imagine that this would bother some guests. We really enjoyed it here with everything that went with it... we'd love to come back.

Food was OK, nothing special, extremely overpriced in any case. However, the worst part, by far, was the service. The gentleman serving us had an obvious fake politeness, which we had all noticed throughout the evening. But what confirmed our impression was that, when paying, he did not accept our tip (suggesting that it was too little) and told us off for offering so little. I suppose that one gets what one deserves.

3 types of tuna and the homemade ravioli filled with porcini mushrooms are delicious!! The pizza was also great!

The food was amazing and the staff was engaging, friendly and helpful. It was pricy- for a three course meal, we spend 140€. But definitely worth it, if you “like food”!

If you set outdoor, you missed the ambience of the place . Food has no taste at all , as if you are eating plastic . Prices are high relative to the quality of food . Very clear it is a tourist trap .

Apart from the salad, the food was not good. The linguini with chanterelle mushrooms were missing something and hence lacked taste and were dry. The grilled gambas's olive oil bases sauce lacked - perhaps missing the garlic, the spice, etc. The service was varied though the people running the place were awesome. We sat outside which was uncomfortable and basic. The inside seating looked really nice but we didnt get a place there.

Been very satisfied twice with courteous service and very good food. The staff is also very helpful to people with disabilities and we felt completely comfortable and welcome.

Pasta for 29 is too expensive for me and it is still one of the cheapest dishes. The food is good, but sitting outside can be annoying, the Long Row is loud and has a lot of car traffic.

Although this was our first visit, we were greeted and treated by the "hostess" as if we were regulars. The menu was plentiful and diverse, and the wine list likewise. Our waiter went out of his way to cater for us, The food was served (not too) quickly and was heaven to eat, and our wine was delicious. A dessert and a coffee later, we left very satisfied. Granted, the prices are in the high end, but you have to pay for quality!

Sasha took great care of us. We were a large group and the food was brought to everyone at the same time. The selection of wines is large. But the food is really really good. I had the beef tartare with truffles and the tuna steak. Both were simply incredible. Will definitely come back there.
