Everything was perfect. The evening was perfect.

The food and wine...very good, as always. Every time we're in Hamburg, we come here at least once. We're always impressed! Keep it up.

The food is very good. The only downside is that the tables are very close together. Sometimes it's difficult to walk between them. However, I can guess the reason, and it's justified. I definitely recommend this place. Great service and great food.

The staff speaks several languages. The atmosphere is pleasant and Italian. The food is simply amazing, and I salute you. The fish was incredibly tender, and it came with potatoes and salad. Italian house wine was also included. Everything reminds me of Italy. The dessert is also worth trying, and of course, the coffee macchiato, which only Italians make like that ❤️. You can't get in without a reservation. The restaurant is well located, a little away from the center, without the crowds of tourists. I recommend it.

Original Italian with great, affordable lunch offers

Small, fine Italian restaurant with delicious pizzas and pasta dishes. The dining room is a bit small and cramped, but the food is delicious. We got a table for 8 people on the spur of the moment, having reserved for lunch that same day.

The service was lackluster; I would have liked to have taken another break. The risotto with porcini mushrooms was tasteless, very oily, and not creamy; the tagliatelle with chanterelle mushrooms was also barely seasoned. A shame! The restaurant was visually appealing, but nothing more.

I rarely write reviews—only when absolutely necessary. This is one such case: For anyone who appreciates trattoria charm: very nice, very cozy, and above all, very tasty. I had beef carpaccio and mussels. Fresh as can be! Everyone wants an "Italian restaurant around the corner" like this.

Top-notch service, Margarita is an institution and always charming! La Locanda represents typical Italian cuisine in Germany: unpretentious, honest, and consistently good.

We ordered pizza (half of the salami pizza was burnt and the other half was still raw). The lasagna wasn't seasoned and was swimming in greasy instant tomato sauce. The shrimp was okay but very salty. When we pointed this out to the waitress, she snapped and replied, "You ate some of it, so it must have been okay," and we had to pay the full price. It's unacceptable to sell such products at such high prices and then be rude on top of it. Absolutely a no-go. The ambiance is nice and the atmosphere is very Italian. Just not the food...

For me they have the best spaghetti with king prawns

We visited La Locanda for the first time this weekend. It was so incredibly good that we immediately made a reservation for Saturday. The service was very attentive and friendly—exactly what you'd expect. The ambiance was perfect, just as you'd expect from an Italian restaurant—a truly comfortable place. The food was fantastic; we're still surprised by the value for money. I don't know when I've ever eaten such a good starter platter before, with as much fresh bread as you like. We had pasta both days, and we were blown away. The pasta was perfect, and my husband said he'd never had better pasta with king prawns before. He's still wondering how that delicious sauce came about. I ate the pasta from the Parmesan cheese shell, which can also be served with beef fillet tips upon request. I had it with fresh truffle, and it was a dream. So for us, every visit to Hamburg also means a visit to La Locanda! A huge recommendation for this fantastic team, and all the best! Very disappointing – never again! I've rarely experienced anything so bad. The spaghetti Bolognese was neither edible in appearance nor in taste – simply unappetizing. The waiter was rude and threw his spoon directly into the pasta instead of placing it properly next to it. The service and food were equally abysmal. As someone who comes from a restaurant industry myself, I'm stunned that a business can still afford to do something like this. Absolutely not recommended! Greetings from Berlin.

The staff is friendly and the food is solid. Personally, I find it very uncomfortable inside. The chairs don't invite you to linger for long, and you sit very close to the next table.

Generally, I can recommend this restaurant, although there are much better Italian restaurants, especially considering the service. I didn't find the service as disastrous as some others have rated it, but it's still far from good. The food, however, was delicious and the portion sizes were good. The ample outdoor seating is, of course, very pleasant, especially in the summer. But I can't think of a reason why I would eat here again. However, if you live or work nearby, it's a good place to go. Prices are also reasonable. Pizza between €14-18, Alster lake, and beer around €5.

After seeing the musical, we were looking for something to eat late into the evening – and luckily, we stumbled upon this Italian restaurant. We received a warm welcome and were seated right away. The pizza and pasta were delicious! The ambiance, with its white and red checked tablecloths and the small, cozy dining room, gave us a taste of Italy in the heart of Hamburg. A definite recommendation for anyone who enjoys good Italian food!

Pizza’s not really anything to write about, waiters just walking around and not paying attention that among others, our table was not setup with candles (like all the others), and no olive oil or salt/pepper present either. You shouldn’t need to ask for those things. No thanks, we would never go there again…

Pizza, pasta, or salads – the value for money is excellent, and although it's often a bit hectic, the service is friendly and manageable. The interior is relatively small and often very lively, but weather permitting, there's also an outdoor seating area. Always happy to come back!

The food was great, but the service was really bad. I asked where I could sit and was immediately met with a very grumpy response saying, "Hmm, you can sit there." Then I was just left sitting there for 10 minutes without a menu in front of me. When I drew attention to myself, the manager came over and took my order. I ordered a small fruit juice spritzer and a Lillet as well as the pasta with prawns. My food arrived after about 10 minutes and I didn't even have anything to drink! They only arrived a few minutes later. I actually considered having dessert but decided against it when I saw the portion of tiramisu, very small for 7.50. Then I wanted to pay, which also took 20 minutes, if not longer. I approached a member of staff at least four times to say I wanted to pay, but I was always turned away with the words "yes, someone will be right there." After the table next to me noticed that I had been waiting for a while, the manager said something to them. After that, the gentleman with the card machine could take my order. I paid and left. I actually came on the recommendation of a friend who had praised the restaurant highly, but unfortunately, I was bitterly disappointed.

I reserved a table for two on a Tuesday evening. It was a good thing because it was packed. After we were seated, we had to wait 30 minutes before our orders were even taken. It can happen when it's busy... you can mention that the tables are very close together. It didn't bother me, but if you don't like hearing the people at the next table talking, this is definitely not the place for you. The food was okay. The pizza base was very good. There was very little topping. Really very little... almost only tomato sauce on the pizza, cheese only in 3-4 specific places... I had hoped for more given the number of visitors. Conclusion: it's okay, you can give it a try. Personally, I wouldn't go back.

Never been treated so rudely in a restaurant! My friend was a guest here on July 8, 2025. Immediately after paying, she sat at her table for a maximum of five minutes until the waiter called across the crowded restaurant, "Your taxi is here." My friend initially felt he wasn't being addressed, as she hadn't ordered a taxi. She said so. The waiter then repeated twice more that the taxi was here. Then, out of the blue, he yelled at her, "Get out of here, get out of here." Apparently, he needed the table for new guests. (If he had communicated this normally, there would have been no cause for alarm.) When other guests intervened and complained about his behavior, he said something like, this is just his way of doing things, and if anyone didn't like it, they shouldn't come or leave. That's exactly what she did, and of course, she will never come back. Anyone who values being treated like a normal guest should definitely not go there. But if you like being treated like dirt, you'll be in good hands there.

The food (4 different dishes for 4 people, including a starter) was great. The price was reasonable. However... there's no room for another chair. We sat almost in the entrance area with the door open (for outside service). But that's just a matter of personal preference. Based on the food, I highly recommend it.

While looking for a restaurant in Hamburg, we decided on La Locanda because we love Italian food. My family and I, five people, were immediately assigned a free table. We were given our menus and relaxedly chose a dish. I opted for apple spritzer and pasta Bolognese. We then waited in a quiet but cramped atmosphere, as the tables were very close together. After a short wait, we got our dishes and drinks at about the same time and started eating. My pasta Bolognese was still steaming to begin with, which is why I had to wait about five minutes before I started eating, as blowing on it didn't help. Meanwhile, I tried my apple spritzer, which tasted very good. After the wait, I devoured the pasta Bolognese. The Parmesan cheese provided made it unforgettable, so I forgot everything that had happened before. For dessert, I ordered some strawberries with vanilla ice cream. For €7, the portion was definitely too small, but the taste was just right. The ambiance was warm and cozy, with a blend of home and minimalism. After dessert, we left La Locanda with full stomachs!

Spontaner Besuch, herzlicher Empfang, toller Sitzplatz draußen zur blauen Stunde, hatte Pasta all Arrabiata, fantastisch. Meine Frau hatte Gnocci gefüllt mit Ziegenkäse und Trüffel in Sahnesoße, ein Gedicht. Jederzeit ein Besuch wert.

I was here for lunch later and ordered the potato soup with truffles. The starter was delicious giabatta bread, which we dipped in olive oil. It was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The service was unfriendly and inattentive from the start. The second starter was forgotten; When it was mentioned, people only listened in passing. Tables and chairs were constantly moving around us; it was incredibly loud, hectic and uncomfortable. It was also so narrow that you had to sit back to back with the next table. We won't be coming back.

We had a reservation for 8 people at 8:30 p.m. (with grandparents). We got there on time and the store was completely packed. We were always put off with “2 more minutes”, “5 more minutes”. The lady didn't even look at me for a long time because she realized that we didn't want to wait any longer. I think it's absurd if you make a special reservation and then only get a seat 35 minutes later. We would have gone to another local long ago if everything hadn't already been full. We also had people with us who weren't good on foot, so we had to wait. The food was very good, but personally I wouldn't eat there again! It's a shame that it turned out that way and we didn't even get any compensation (drink on the house, etc.)!

So geht’s, nach der Enttäuschung im Tratoria Due um die Ecke am Grossneumarkt geht man einfach ein paar Schritte weiter die Straße runter und - fühlt sich wohl. Einfacher Laden, nette Bedienung und Pasta Pizza und mehr für die Hälfte der Rechnung beim Due! Pizza war top, Pasta war top, Wein war super und der Grappa aufs Haus war die Kirsche obenauf. Immer wieder!

Unfortunately, the greeting as a non-regular guest was very disappointing and briefly said “two people there!” the tables are much too narrow. On average, the food is not really tasty. The restaurant and toilets could use a new coat of paint. Everything is very outdated. There really are better and more authentic Italian restaurants in Hamburg!

War alleine in der Mittagspause und wollte im Restaurant etwas essen. Da es voll war, wurde ich ganz normal gebeten kurz an der Bar zu warten bis ein Tisch frei ist. Nach 5 Minuten wurde ein Tisch fast direkt neben der Bar frei, den der Chef dann 2 Personen gegeben hat, die gerade zur Tür hereingekommen sind. Da ich irritiert war, weil ich direkt neben ihm Stand als er die 2 anderen Gäste zu sich gewunken hat, habe ich ihm den Hinweis gegeben, dass er mich eben an die Bar bzw. den Tresen gebeten hat, um zu warten. Zudem erinnerte ich ihn, dass ich ja vor den anderen da war. Darauf bezogen entgegnete er nur, dass er das ‘nicht wusste‘. Es kann natürlich sein, dass man sowas innerhalb von kurzer Zeit vergisst, was aber ungewöhnlich wäre. Viel mehr liegt der Verdacht nahe, dass 2 Kunden hier also wichtiger sind als einer, da mehr Umsatz gemacht werden kann. Selbst das ist zwar unschön, wäre aber legitim, wenn man das vorher mitteilen würde. So hat man das Gefühl als Einzelkunde nicht die gewünschte Zielgruppe zu sein. Wichtig: Das Essen kann hier also nicht bewertet werden. Der Service - zumindest für Einzelkunden - ist aber leider nicht zeitgemäß.

When we asked for recommendations or clarification about the menu, his responses were curt, bordering on rude. This alone would have been frustrating, but things escalated when he outright cursed in our language—a blatant and offensive act that left us stunned. When confronted, he tried to deny it, claiming that he didn’t understand the language. This excuse was both insulting and disingenuous, as it was clear he knew exactly what he was saying. To make matters worse, he refused to share his name when we asked to escalate the issue. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable in any setting, let alone in a restaurant that presumably prides itself on its hospitality. The management, if they were aware of this incident, did absolutely nothing to intervene or address it, which only added to the disappointment. It’s unfortunate that such an establishment would allow someone so ill-suited for customer service to remain on their team. Dining out is about more than just food; it’s about the overall experience—being treated with respect, feeling welcomed, and enjoying a pleasant atmosphere. La Locanda failed spectacularly on all these counts. I left not only dissatisfied but also deeply offended by how we were treated. To anyone considering this restaurant, I urge you to think twice. There are plenty of wonderful places to eat in Hamburg where both the food and the service are worth your time and money. Sadly, La Locanda is not one of them.

Despite everyone having reserved tables, we were offered the table for a limited time, which was completely sufficient to eat in a relaxed manner. The food was fresh from the oven, drinks and fresh bread were top notch. The service was very pleasant and cordial. Prices are reasonable. What I noticed was that the hall was in need of renovation and there was an unpleasant smell. In my opinion, I would either replace the candles or candle holders. But that will definitely be done during renovation.

We were there for lunch today. Had a pasta and a salami pizza, with a glass of wine, everything was really good, I can highly recommend it. While we were sitting there, we suddenly heard a roar from inside. Immediately everything outside was quiet. Inside, the boss (?) yelled at one of his waitresses outside because she apparently wasn't fast enough for him. (I can't confirm that, the two waiters served a good 60-70 people outside and the time was absolutely reasonable) In any case, it was pretty unpleasant to have to listen to. As an employee, I wouldn't let my boss treat me like that, to be honest. I know that sometimes there is a rough tone in the kitchen, but if you notice that as a guest, then something is wrong. I would like your employees to be treated with respect, then I would be happy to come here again.

Hyggeligt udefra og fin betjening. Desværre går det meget hurtigt med maden - 5 minutter så var spaghetti bolognese, bruschetta og tomatsalaten på bordet. Bolegnesen var ikke varm. Brødet til bruchettaen mindede om et stykke franskbrød og var så gennemvædet af saft fra tomaterne - skulle spises med en ske. Så det virkede som om, at alt med bare skal ud af køkkenet og skidt med kvaliteten.

Unfortunately, the food wasn't tasty, you could have cooked better yourself. Had lasagna, Bolognese and the salmon noodle, sauces were very watery as if everything was just warmed up with water, unfortunately the lasagna wasn't really warm in the middle. The menu is very small and personally there wasn't enough choice for me. A small children's menu was also missing. But service was nice and so was the ambience. But the money was too good for the food.

Very tasty dishes. Lush pizzas and large portions of pasta. Price/performance is really right here. The service is on point and tries very hard. The Italian beer has the best drinking temperature. The ambience inside is harmonious - outside it could be even cozier. We enjoyed it and we'll be back.
