The food was pretty bland. Instead of guacamole, there was a tasteless green foam - they're saving money here. The food wasn't very impressive. On the way to the bathroom, you pass quite a mess and things piled up everywhere.

The food was good, but there was no draft beer. I wouldn't recommend the cocktails.

The restaurant has a very nice, relaxed, and authentic atmosphere – with a certain coolness factor. You feel welcome from the start, and the atmosphere is well-suited to a trendy bar. Unfortunately, the overall experience was not convincing. When we arrived at 6 p.m., it was very cold inside. The hot soup was a good start, but the rest of the meal wasn't particularly impressive. Many dishes were heavily salted and lacked freshness and refinement. One had the impression that there was much more potential here. Later in the evening, it became very loud – which fits the atmosphere of a trendy bar, but less so for a relaxed restaurant visit. The drink selection was also somewhat disappointing: no non-alcoholic beer and overall limited options. Conclusion: A cool place for a relaxed evening in a trendy atmosphere, but unfortunately not a culinary highlight.

We were 2 persons and didn't have a good experience. The food (Tacos and as a starter Totopos with cheese and guacamole) took both over an hour and was not authentic Mexican at all (no lime, parsley instead of coriander, no salsas, the Totopos were anything but made of corn, the guacamole was some kind of green, liquid sauce). For what it was, I found it quite pricy.

Be prepared for a wait.......one and a half hours after ordering i got my starter which was actually quite pathetic. About 8 tortilla chips with a bit of cheese and some black beans. The restaurant slightly redeemed itself with my decent main courses of the devil's stew but by that time I would have eaten anything. Frustrating as the restaurant seemed to be frequented by many Latin Americans and there was some great entertainment from a singer. Perhaps I caught them on an off night?

Food was not bad though it was not the best. They took more than one hour to give us the food, so this was the main problem. Plus, the limonade is just sugar + one limon juice, it does not taste like anything so never ask for it

The food is ok. The service was bad, they were really disorganized. It took more than an hour to get the food. Their excuse is that they only have one cook and they prepare things when you order it. Sorry to say, but that's the case in all restaurants, whenever you order, they have to prepare that dish... The Mexican beverages (lemonade, horchata, etc) are not tasty at all. Cocktails are ok.

We ordered totopos with guacamole, suadero tacos and cochinita pibil tacos. I understand that we went on a special day to celebrate September 15th (Mexican Independence Day) and there were more people than usual but they had to prepare for more people than usual. It took them 1 hour and 12 minutes to bring us our food!!! we asked for an appetizer “the totopos con guacamole” and they brought it along with the food. The starter was totopos with guacamole, it wasn't even guacamole, it was some kind of diluted green sauce because it looked like water. The tacos were brought without lime, the cochinita pibil tacos without curtidas cebollitas or habanero sauce, only with parsley and green sauce, which is not the case with this type of tacos. They don't accept credit cards either... The truth is that I would not return to this place but I wish them the best and that they improve.

I have been there 2-3 years back and had got great food, but recently I took another friends there and the food was so oily. The grill platter had a layer of oil that could reflect our faces even! There was something about the lighting that was too djm. Other than that we were not told on the entrance that they accept only cash. Nor were we informed about the unavailability of chicken on that day, which was not very bothersome. I used to like the chill vibe of the place but not any more. I would like to give some points for the people serving there who were kind and made all this bearable.

Very tasty, freshly prepared food, but a very long wait. Ingredients for certain cocktails were missing and therefore couldn't be prepared. Our table hadn't been wiped down and was sticky, and the ambiance also seemed rather shabby and dirty in places (decorations and cabinets were dusty).

We (8 people) recently visited the restaurant, recommended by friends, and the promising reviews made us look forward to a good meal. The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and inviting. The staff was friendly and helpful, but as the restaurant filled up, they were overwhelmed. There was no chicken that evening—that can happen, but a Mexican restaurant that's out of avocados is a no-go. The dishes we chose were served so slowly that the first people to arrive finished their meals before the last one arrived. Furthermore, the food was greasy, bland in flavor, lacking in heat and typical Mexican spices. A piece of glass was even found in one dish! The wine wasn't chilled, which didn't make things any better. I wouldn't recommend it!

Super delicious Mexican food, the margaritas are simply fantastic, the ambiance is artistically and creatively decorated, and the staff is very friendly! I keep coming back and recommend it.

Absolutely cute restaurant with a great atmosphere! The cocktails were delicious, and the food was beautifully presented and authentic. I would recommend making a reservation in advance.

Food was solid, although I figured a wet burrito would have more sauce...also, the plate was very small and that made it hard to eat. My friend's drink hat Styrofoam in it... Service really tried but was quite disorganized. Didn't know what they were out of, made us change seats, didn't know the prices, and change was under the bar on the floor. Chairs could have used cushions that actually work with the furniture. Although the food was solid, I won't be back due to the other reasons.

I went 3 weeks ago when I was passing through Dresden, the food is nothing out of this world, I ordered some chicken enchiladas and the chicken is tasteless, it seems like it's just boiled with salt and that's it, my companion had large peppercorns in his food, super unpleasant, the starter was some nachos that seemed to be from a bag with a supermarket white cream and supermarket cheese too, at least they serve something that I can't make myself at home cheaper and better, it's quite expensive compared to other options in the surrounding area and the portions are small. The atmosphere of the place is normal, it has potential but everything looks very messy and neglected, everything looks old and downstairs it is worse. The service seemed terrible to me, there was a man (the owner?) yelling at the employees at the bar, I felt embarrassed. It's not the worst place I've been to, but I wouldn't go back nor recommend it to eat, maybe just to have a couple of drinks. If you are going there is no card payment, only cash.

Cantina Revolution is one of our absolute favorite bars in Dresden! There is always a great atmosphere here, there is great music, delicious food and an atmosphere that is simply unique. It feels like a cozy living room where you immediately feel at home - surrounded by open-minded and warm people. An absolute insider tip and a little pearl in the Neustadt. If you are looking for a special bar with charm and character, you have come to the right place!

I felt like it's a little piece of Mexico in Germany, it's not easy to find authentic Mexican food outside of Mexico, but this place does it. From the first bite, you can tell that they use quality ingredients and that they know what they are doing in the kitchen. I ordered some cochinita tacos and wow, they were delicious and spectacular, with the meat well marinated and the tortillas as they should be. I also tried a michelada, and it was perfect. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service is very good and, best of all, you feel that homemade touch that makes the difference. If you like real Mexican food, this place does not disappoint. I will definitely return!

The cantina is a real highlight for Mexican food in Dresden. The dishes are super tasty and authentic (which is rarely the case with Mexican food here in Dresden). When there's a lot going on, it can sometimes take a while - but it's definitely worth the wait!!

We discovered this formidable corner in a picturesque place in Dresden, it was very comforting to feel at home, the atmosphere very cozy and pleasant, the food very good and with the touch that is missed when one is away from home. It was very pleasant to find this cantina bar, whose Mexican owner is very friendly and is also the chef. You have to understand that everything is cooked to order so it is worth the wait. Highly recommended. Thank you!

Was there a few months ago and was more than satisfied with the food, service and ambience. Yesterday I was there for the second time and received very bland dishes where the cheese wasn't melted properly and the food was only lukewarm. Even the nachos, usually baked with cheese and warm, came cold with a dollop of sour cream & tube cheese like from the movies. There was no music either, but you could regularly hear the microwave in the background. I really hope that the restaurant recovers.

So the ambience at first glance is great. We had a sticky table, menus not presentable. Service had no overview. The starter and main course were served together. The service spoke little German and English. Food was very tasty but portion was small. So for now it was okay. But wouldn't come back.

No wonder this location is located in a part of town where it doesn't stand out! Dirty, smelly, small and uncomfortable... Full of alleged art and disorder. But it's a wonder how the authorities haven't closed the shop yet! Staff can NOT: German, English, finger language, sign language, distinguish orders from bills, remember their own prices, serve at the tables, clean up, COUNT.

First of all I am Mexican, from Guadalajara. I was surprised to find a 100% Mexican restaurant, if you miss the food of Mexico or want to try something authentic and not something Texmex. Come to this highly recommended place!!! I tried some red enchiladas and they were delicious.

The Cantina Revolucion has been my favorite location in Dresden for years. Perfect for speaking Spanish, eating tacos, dancing and forgetting that you're in cold Germany for a few hours... here you really almost feel like you're in Latin America :) And the food is really authentic and delicious, just like in Mexico!

Simply an original, viva la Mexico

The food is very delicious, you can feel the flavor of Mexico. The pozole was delicious and so was the gringa de sudadero. Plus the atmosphere is great, you always have a good time here.

Absolute bankruptcy, this restaurant! I booked a table for dinner at the beginning of March for my birthday on May 9th and went specifically to order to see how my order would be recorded. On the birthday evening, my guests who had come from far away stood in front of the closed door. I called and the boss told me on his cell phone that it was closed. He also lied about there being nothing in the order book. The birthday evening was over, there wasn't even an apology over the phone. I strongly advise all potential customers not to visit this highly unreliable inn and its lying innkeeper.

We eat out at restaurants in Dresden every week and this is one of our favorites. The ambience is great and the food is amazing! I have a pretty fast metabolism and eat a lot more than most people and I always leave here completely full and satisfied. And full really means a lot to me! The price-quantity ratio here is incredibly good and the two owners are super nice. In addition to the extensive alcohol menu, there is also a wide selection of non-alcoholic cocktails for non-drinkers like me. We actually go to a different restaurant every week, but this was the third time we've been here. And will come back more often

You won't find a more authentic Mexican restaurant in Dresden! It is down-to-earth and incredibly tasty, just like the country is. I think you have to get involved with the rustic ambience to some extent, but the reward is that you can immediately "think away" it. Privately run, great menu and great service. Many Spanish-speaking guests, which underlines the quality twice as much.

First things first!! The food 🌮 is really the best and original Mexican food here in the Dresden/Chemnitz region and here the cuisine is just as Mexican as the chef. The restaurant is a bit hidden, but I think that's quite normal for an insider tip. The ambience is a bit chaotic, rustic & alternative, which is typical for a revolution and cantina ;-) The conditions are super friendly and the costs for this Mexican-Yucatec cuisine are also very affordable. It is and remains an insider tip. Viva the Cantina Revolution!

Completely irresponsible staff. My friend is severely allergic to peanuts and specifically asked the waiter if the mole dish had peanuts in, she literally even asked in Spanish so the waiter 100% understood and he replied that it definitely did not have peanuts in. The dish did actually have peanut in and so she suffered an allergic reaction, we told the waiter and he took the plate back. Both him and the cook should have come out immediately and apologised and offered to order a taxi or ambulance for us. Instead the waiter just brought other people's food out before even coming back over to us. He didn't even take it seriously, asking if she wanted any other food which was obviously a completely stupid question. We obviously had to leave and go to find a doctor's late in the evening and she suffered a severe reaction. We are very upset by how blazé and unseriously they took it, you cannot tell a client something doesn't have peanuts unless you are completely sure !!!!!! I expect a reply to this and I hope you ask for our contact and offer a written apology and outline the steps you will take to prevent this from happening to someone else. The menu should have allergens listed, and if not then the waiters should receive immediate notice if a recipe changes and has a new ingredient in it.

Your Latin site in Dresden. I had a great time this Saturday having some beers. The owner has decorated the restaurant with his paintings.

The restaurant itself is decorated in a very rustic style. The service was very friendly and the food was delicious. In my opinion the prices were reasonable. Unfortunately the toilet was a bit dirty. Attention: Only cash payment is possible.

Estuvimos buscando un restaurante mexicano y los encontramos, su decoración tiene toques muy mexicanos, su carta es variada desde tacos al pastor, de cochinita, enchiladas rojas, verdes, mole, flautas, fajitas, burritos, guacamole. Buena atención, muy amables. De bebidas: agua de horchata, Jamaica y Limón, margaritas, cervezas, etc. Recomendable !!!

Essen war an sich sehr lecker, jedoch stand auf der Karte nicht dabei, wie scharf das jeweilige Gericht war. Das führte dazu, dass man bei einigen Gerichten eher mit dem Brennen des Mundes zu kämpfen hatte, als das man tatsächlich das Essen genießen konnte. Etwas ungewöhnlich war die Bezahlung: entweder bar oder per PayPal, mit Karte kommt man hier nicht weit. Preise sind vollkommen in Ordnung, mit einem Getränk und einem Gericht pro Person kommt man selten über 20€. Die Einrichtung war super für einen Mexikaner: Möbel, Deko und Musik passten perfekt und erzeugten eine schöne Stimmung
