No wonder this location is located in a part of town where it doesn't stand out! Dirty, smelly, small and uncomfortable... Full of alleged art and disorder. But it's a wonder how the authorities haven't closed the shop yet! Staff can NOT: German, English, finger language, sign language, distinguish orders from bills, remember their own prices, serve at the tables, clean up, COUNT.

First of all I am Mexican, from Guadalajara. I was surprised to find a 100% Mexican restaurant, if you miss the food of Mexico or want to try something authentic and not something Texmex. Come to this highly recommended place!!! I tried some red enchiladas and they were delicious.

Getting the wrong food. No exchange after request. Caipi was terribly bad. Had to wait 1.5 hours for fried tortillas. Never again

The Cantina Revolucion has been my favorite location in Dresden for years. Perfect for speaking Spanish, eating tacos, dancing and forgetting that you're in cold Germany for a few hours... here you really almost feel like you're in Latin America :) And the food is really authentic and delicious, just like in Mexico!

Simply an original, viva la Mexico

The food is very delicious, you can feel the flavor of Mexico. The pozole was delicious and so was the gringa de sudadero. Plus the atmosphere is great, you always have a good time here.

Absolute bankruptcy, this restaurant! I booked a table for dinner at the beginning of March for my birthday on May 9th and went specifically to order to see how my order would be recorded. On the birthday evening, my guests who had come from far away stood in front of the closed door. I called and the boss told me on his cell phone that it was closed. He also lied about there being nothing in the order book. The birthday evening was over, there wasn't even an apology over the phone. I strongly advise all potential customers not to visit this highly unreliable inn and its lying innkeeper.

We eat out at restaurants in Dresden every week and this is one of our favorites. The ambience is great and the food is amazing! I have a pretty fast metabolism and eat a lot more than most people and I always leave here completely full and satisfied. And full really means a lot to me! The price-quantity ratio here is incredibly good and the two owners are super nice. In addition to the extensive alcohol menu, there is also a wide selection of non-alcoholic cocktails for non-drinkers like me. We actually go to a different restaurant every week, but this was the third time we've been here. And will come back more often

You won't find a more authentic Mexican restaurant in Dresden! It is down-to-earth and incredibly tasty, just like the country is. I think you have to get involved with the rustic ambience to some extent, but the reward is that you can immediately "think away" it. Privately run, great menu and great service. Many Spanish-speaking guests, which underlines the quality twice as much.

First things first!! The food 🌮 is really the best and original Mexican food here in the Dresden/Chemnitz region and here the cuisine is just as Mexican as the chef. The restaurant is a bit hidden, but I think that's quite normal for an insider tip. The ambience is a bit chaotic, rustic & alternative, which is typical for a revolution and cantina ;-) The conditions are super friendly and the costs for this Mexican-Yucatec cuisine are also very affordable. It is and remains an insider tip. Viva the Cantina Revolution!

Completely irresponsible staff. My friend is severely allergic to peanuts and specifically asked the waiter if the mole dish had peanuts in, she literally even asked in Spanish so the waiter 100% understood and he replied that it definitely did not have peanuts in. The dish did actually have peanut in and so she suffered an allergic reaction, we told the waiter and he took the plate back. Both him and the cook should have come out immediately and apologised and offered to order a taxi or ambulance for us. Instead the waiter just brought other people's food out before even coming back over to us. He didn't even take it seriously, asking if she wanted any other food which was obviously a completely stupid question. We obviously had to leave and go to find a doctor's late in the evening and she suffered a severe reaction. We are very upset by how blazé and unseriously they took it, you cannot tell a client something doesn't have peanuts unless you are completely sure !!!!!! I expect a reply to this and I hope you ask for our contact and offer a written apology and outline the steps you will take to prevent this from happening to someone else. The menu should have allergens listed, and if not then the waiters should receive immediate notice if a recipe changes and has a new ingredient in it.

Your Latin site in Dresden. I had a great time this Saturday having some beers. The owner has decorated the restaurant with his paintings.

Good food... prices maybe a tad high

The restaurant itself is decorated in a very rustic style. The service was very friendly and the food was delicious. In my opinion the prices were reasonable. Unfortunately the toilet was a bit dirty. Attention: Only cash payment is possible.

Estuvimos buscando un restaurante mexicano y los encontramos, su decoración tiene toques muy mexicanos, su carta es variada desde tacos al pastor, de cochinita, enchiladas rojas, verdes, mole, flautas, fajitas, burritos, guacamole. Buena atención, muy amables. De bebidas: agua de horchata, Jamaica y Limón, margaritas, cervezas, etc. Recomendable !!!

Wir sind zum wiederholten Male als deutsch-mexikanische Familie an diesem gastlichen Ort. Nona und David sind nicht nur gute Köche, sondern auch warmherzige Gastgeber. Nos sentimos muy a gusto aqui.

Essen war an sich sehr lecker, jedoch stand auf der Karte nicht dabei, wie scharf das jeweilige Gericht war. Das führte dazu, dass man bei einigen Gerichten eher mit dem Brennen des Mundes zu kämpfen hatte, als das man tatsächlich das Essen genießen konnte. Etwas ungewöhnlich war die Bezahlung: entweder bar oder per PayPal, mit Karte kommt man hier nicht weit. Preise sind vollkommen in Ordnung, mit einem Getränk und einem Gericht pro Person kommt man selten über 20€. Die Einrichtung war super für einen Mexikaner: Möbel, Deko und Musik passten perfekt und erzeugten eine schöne Stimmung

If I started a revolution of tacos it would definitely be one with a lot of lime wedges and salsas, not the total lack of them. To me it is borderline criminal to offer tacos without these basic ingredients. They could have saved so much. Now the experience was average in a dull way. Dry and easily breaking tortillas, achiote taste missing from cochinita pibil, and instead of salsas we had some random avocado-zucchini sauce. On the plus side they made micheladas on demand, outside of the menu, which lacked spice and lime, but on my second one when requesting extra lime I got an actual ton of it, half of which could have been on the tacos though. Thanks for the attempt, but a step up of the game is needed!

Der wohl authentischste Mexikaner den ich je erlebt habe. Speisen und Getränke top, Service etwas chaotisch aber deswegen umso besser :) Tolles Ambiente, es hätte mich nicht gewundert wenn ich beim Verlassen der Cantina Revolucion auf den Straßen von Tijuana gelandet wäre ;) Nur Barzahlung (oder etwas kreativ mit PayPal)

This place is the best and most authentic place in Dresden. As soon as you walk in you get that Cantina feeling. People complaining about the place is because they've never been to a real cantina in Mexico. The food is amazing. Had the chicken mole and let me tell you that it was delicious. The spice was right on point to make my nose runny. Also had the flautas and they were delas well. Also, the service was amazing. People complaining about this place could be because they have never been to a real cantina and/or are not used to the authentic Mexican food. A

Außergewöhnlich leckere und authentische mexikanische Küche in gemütlichem Ambiente. Man fühlt sich sofort willkommen und das Essen ist wirklich toll! Alleine für die guacamole sollte manhier unbedingt mal her kommen. Und gute Gespräche gibt es obendrein. Vielen Dank!

The staff was lovely, the place itself cozy and the food absolutely delicious.

Very, very delicious and authentic Mexican food. My girlfriend traveled through Mexico for 3 weeks and felt like back in Mexico. No comparison to the usual TexMex places in Germany. The service was also very friendly and helpful. If we visit Dresden again some time, we will surely head there again!

It isn't that good as much of the rating. It was, however, everage. I wasn't able to understand the menu, so I showed the review image of one of the dish, I was surprised that the manager said these are 'Internet' photo. So they don't have the taco that I wanted, as per the photo in Google review. So they made me order something 'similar'. My colleague came with me, he too didn't like the food. How to improve? Photo menu, or have an online menu with photos. Food taste fine, but I had my expectation on a different dish. So, 3 star for me.

Guter Laden und ein netter Besitzer

Zu siebt unterwegs. Alle gut gelaunt. Alle Hunger. Um einer Ecke finden wir das Restaurant Catina Revolucion. Der äußere Eindruck überzeugt. Eine angnehme Athmospähre im inneren. Schönheit kommt von innen, so findet auch diese Lebensweisheit im Catina Revolucion seine Wahrheit. Getäuscht von gedämpften Licht und bunter Deko fanden wir ein Platz in der Mitte des Ladens. Bestellen konnten wir jedoch erst nach 30min, essen war auf den Tisch nach 100min, leider aber nur sechs von sieben Gerichten... Die Catina Revolucion kämpft nicht nur mit strukturellen Problemen sondern auch mit fehlender Professionalität. Der Koch war sogleich unser Kellner und unser Kellner war sogleich unser Koch. Mit einem vollen Laden ein zu erwarten großes Chaos. Zu unser Verabredung nach dem Essen kamen wir nartürlich 2h zu spät... Außerdem, 2/7 verbrachten den späten Abend mit Magenkrämpfen auf der Schüssel. Danke für nichts und bis nie wieder! Keine Empfehlung!

Sehr freundliche Bedienung, aber leider war das Essen unglaublich lieblos angerichtet und auch nicht gerade überragend lecker, dafür aber wirklich teuer. Das wird definitiv der einzige Besuch geblieben sein. Schade.

Wir haben dort Silvester gefeiert und es war klasse. Eine super authentische Bar und man trifft auch nette Leute. Die Preise sind top und die beiden Inhaber einfach freundlich. Uns hat es viel Spaß gemacht und wir werden sicher wieder da hin gehen.

Angenehme Atmosphäre im Stil einer originell inszenierten Sperrmüllsammlung. In der Königsdisziplin der mexikanischen Küche, der Salsas und Miles, gibt es allerdings noch viel Luft nach oben.

Super sympathische und freundliche Gastgeber! Atmosphäre und Flair (s. Fotos) etwas spezieller, etwas einfacher, dafür fühlt man sich aber sonst sehr wohl. Die Gerichte werden bei Bedarf auch erklärt ;) leckere Auswahl und zum Satt werden! Preis-Leistung hat für uns gepasst. Mal was anderes.

Food tastes very good, although I takes for ever. A little bowl of nachos took 50min, although they were hand made and deep fried just before. Got offered a burrito within 1 to 1.5 hour which I had to decline. Staff is very friendly, except the owner who is cocky. Seriously unorganized, they run out of glasses so they couldn't sell any craft beer.

Facts about this restaurant: 1) they serve some food without the ingredients mentioned in the menu. When you ask about the missing ingredients, they avoid any responsibility saying that they're running out of them and it's not their fault. So, whose fault is it? Correct way to do things: to come to the costumer and mention that such ingredients are not available and ask the costumer if they want to have the dish even though the ingredients are not complete. 2) costumers that arrive later receive their order first. Instead of excusing themself for that, they avoid any responsibility, again! 3) when receiving feedback about things that can be improved, they complain and avoid any responsibility, again. Lesson: feedback are made for you to improve your business, that's why this kind of things are done. Do not delete negative comments, they are honest and help costumers to decide what experiences to live.

La verdad tuve una súper mala experiencia. La comida se demoro más de una hora y cuando llego hacían falta ingredientes. Preguntamos al cocinero y dijo: no es mi culpa no tenemos ingredientes!!!!! y entonces es mi culpa? 5 min después la mesa al lado de nosotros recibió su comida con esos ingredientes que según el cocinero se habían acabado. Al momento de pagar me cobraron full price por una comida que no tenía todos los ingredientes. Inaceptable!
