Can VaRa in Bad Münstereifel

We had the great pleasure of spontaneously visiting the Can VaRa restaurant in Bad Münstereifel last night. It was an experience we won't soon forget. Despite not having a reservation, we were seated at a cozy table near a wonderful bush basil plant, which smelled so wonderful and immediately made us feel like we'd been transported to the heart of the Mediterranean. The menu offered a fantastic selection of Mediterranean dishes and tapas, freshly prepared and bursting with flavor. The combination of high-quality ingredients, attention to detail, and the masterful skill of chef Ralf made for an unparalleled culinary experience. I would especially like to highlight Vanessa's fantastic wine selection, which perfectly complemented my meal. The two of them were incredibly welcoming from the very beginning and made us feel welcome and appreciated throughout our entire stay. All in all, our visit to Can VaRa was an exceptional experience. The combination of delicious food, a warm atmosphere, and first-class service makes it a place we would recommend to anyone without hesitation. We're very much looking forward to visiting the restaurant again in the near future! UPDATE from October 17, 2025 Last Friday, we celebrated our 5th anniversary at Can VaRa in Bad Münstereifel – and it was once again a wonderful evening. We both chose the menu, and just like our first visit, everything was simply perfect: finely balanced flavors, lovingly presented plates, and that very special Mediterranean atmosphere that makes Can VaRa so unique. Ralf and Vanessa once again managed to delight us both culinary and personal. The food was perfectly prepared, the wine was excellently selected, and their warmth made the evening truly special. After five years of shared memories, it was the perfect place to celebrate this special day – with enjoyment, warmth, and a touch of vacation feeling in the heart of the Eifel region. Thank you for this wonderful evening – we'll definitely be back! 💛

A place to be!! In Bad Münstereifel!! A cozy restaurant with a wide selection of wines, cavas, and champagne. The menu is perfectly balanced with a variety of tapas and main courses prepared with fresh and flavorful ingredients. The hosts complement the perfect symbiosis of this brilliant Mediterranean gastronomy. The apartment where we stayed is in the same building, overlooking the river and the village fountain. Relaxing, romantic, and quaint. We will definitely return!

Ein schönes Lokal, mit sehr freundlichen Inhabern. Die bestellten Tapas waren super lecker und wir hatten einen schönen Abend. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und werden wieder kommen.

Wie eigentlich immer im Can Vara ein Abend mit kulinarischem Verwöhnprogramm. Wir haben das Tapas-Menü für 2 Personen gewählt und uns vom Küchenchef überrschen lassen. Eine gute Wahl mit verschiedensten Geschmackseindrücken der mediterranen und spanischen Küche. Dazu ein hervorragender Rotwein und wie immer aufmerksame Umsorgung durch Vanessa. Das Can Vara hebt sich mit seinen Speisen und dem Service wohltuend von einigen anderen Restaurants in Bad Münstereifel ab und ist immer einen Besuch wert.

We went to Can VaRa for the first time today and were thrilled. We were served very friendly and courteously and the food was simply excellent! We had delicious tapas as a starter and a lamb shank and sea bream as a main course. Both were absolutely recommended! We will definitely come back.

We were there for two evenings with friends and also once in 2020, so we are repeat offenders, so to speak. We can recommend the restaurant without any reservations. Food, drinks, service and ambience are excellent. We will definitely and happily come back and recommend that everyone who wants to stop there definitely make a reservation in advance.

Hatte eigentlich wenig Hunger, da aber Tapas nur zu 4 Portionen bestellbar waren dachte ich, ich muss ja nicht alles aufessen. Als dann die 4 Tapas kamen und ich dann angefangen habe dachte ich l'appetit vient en mangéant. und ruckzuck war alles verputzt:-).. Alles top, danke.

Die frisch zubereiteten Speisen waren sehr, sehr lecker. Die Bedienung und der Koch waren sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Man merkt ihnen an, dass es ihnen Freude macht, ihre Gäste zu verwöhnen. Wir kommen gerne wieder(❁´◡`❁)

What was particularly pleasant for us was the well-timed “provision” of the various tapas. We were completely satisfied and can recommend a visit to fans of Spanish cuisine. So, wie auch in den Jahren zuvor, haben wir einen sehr schönen Abend in einem gemütlichen Ambiente bei sehr ambitionierten und kompetenten Gastgebern verbracht. Vielen Dank dafür.

nettes Ambiente und tolle Gastgeber. Da die Anzahl der Tische nicht allzu groß ist genießt man stets, hohe Aufmerksamkeit der Gastgeber. etwas höheres Preissegment aber für die Qualität der Speisen und Getränke durchaus angemessen. Immer wieder ein schöner Besuch.

From the special wine recommendation by Vanessa (sommelier) to the outstanding culinary delight of Ralf's Spanish cuisine, a visit here is always an experience. We visited the restaurant with two friends and had reserved a table for the evening in advance. The selection of drinks is very good thanks to an extensive wine list and Estrella on tap. In addition to the small menu, there was also a menu with either 3 or 4 courses. We ordered this three times, along with a steak and starters. The menu included two starters and a main course, plus a dessert. Everything tasted absolutely excellent and the quality of the ingredients was very high. The steak was also perfectly fried and very tasty. There aren't many tables and all the food is prepared absolutely fresh, so you should allow a little extra time. But it's absolutely worth it. On a nice evening with friends, you're not in a hurry in such a nice atmosphere. Absolutely clear recommendation!

We visited Can VaRa on Saturday evening. A small and very fine restaurant with a stylish ambience. The menu offers a good selection of Mediterranean dishes and tapas. All dishes are freshly prepared. We chose 6 different tapas, it was delicious. For dessert we had a wonderful Creme Catalana. The service was excellent. We would love to come back.

A small but fine restaurant that clearly stands out from the gastronomic landscape in Bad Münstereifel! Quality and standards are above average. We felt very comfortable with so much hospitality. There is love in the details and it shows. Even on the second evening, when the restaurant was completely booked (tapas evening), we were able to knock on the door and get a fantastic white sangria for our spontaneous “wall/bridge evening”. It's something you remember. We would like to come again! ❤️

A wonderful evening and a break in Spain! The evening starts with entry into an almost family atmosphere. Small and very fine with a stylish ambience and a very friendly reception and service. The menu offers selected tapas, a menu and, if ordered in advance, paella. The sangria is highly recommended! We chose tapas and Crema Katalana for dessert. Everything is very tasty. We will come back !!!

Ate there for the first time today as a group of three. Enjoyed tapas variations. Rheingau sparkling wine as an aperitif, rosé wine as an accompaniment. Food, drinks, ambience and service excellent! Reserved again straight away, absolute recommendation!

Excellent fresh, Mediterranean cuisine from the Hürten couple. You can't get any better tapas even in Spain. Nowadays, chefs rarely master their craft like the trained chef Ralf, who also carries out his job with heart and passion. Just like his wife Vanessa, a certified certified sommelier. She unobtrusively recommends wines to guests that go perfectly with Mediterranean cuisine. And if you would like to drink a Spanish beer with your meal, it is also freshly tapped. Tolle Atmosphäre. Aufmerksame und kompetente Bedienung/Inhaberin. Fantastisches Essen und außergewöhnliche Getränke. Eine Wohlfühloase ohne Hektik. Ankommen, und sich verwöhnen lassen. So etwas findet man nicht oft. Gerne wieder.

Fans der spanischen Küche kommen hier zu 100 % auf ihre Kosten. Die Speisen werden liebevoll, stets frisch zubereitet, während man in der offenen Küche dabei zusehen kann. Keine Sorge, die Abluft funktioniert perfekt! Den Service, im gemütlichen Gastraum, übernimmt die Chefin selbst und man merkt, dass hier jemand vom Fach ist. Die schöne Speisekarte wird perfekt durch Weinempfehlungen ergänzt. Eine Reservierung ist unbedingt erforderlich, da hier nur begrenzt Tische zur Verfügung stehen und man auf Klasse statt auf Masse setzt. An jedem der aufgestellten Tische wird die Privatsphäre gewahrt und man fühlt sich rundum wohl und versorgt. Unbedingt ausprobieren, ist mein Fazit!!!

Auf Empfehlung haben wir das Can VaRa besucht und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Alles war ein Traum. Die Getränke, das vorzügliche Essen, der sehr aufmerksame und freundliche Service. Wir hatten einen traumhaft schönen Abend. Uneingeschränkte Weiterempfehlung.

Die Tappas sind hervorragend aber das Hauptgericht war für diesen Preis wirklich enttäuschend. Netter Service und man sitzt im Somner draußen ganz nett. Vielleicht ist es bei einem 2. Besuch ja besser.

Tolles Ambiente, rustikal gemütlich mit Liebe zum Detail. Und ein kulinarisches Highlight! Der beste Spanier bei dem wir je waren. Wir haben "nur" Tapas aber dafür 7 verschiedene gegessen. Alles unfassbar lecker und gute Menge. Der Service inkl. Empfehlungen wirklich außerordentlich gut. Ein außergewöhnliches Erlebnis.

Sehr schönes Restaurant mit familiärem Charakter. Top spanische Gerichte mit qualitativ hochwertigen Produkten. Zuvorkommender Service und auch der Koch kommt persönlich an den Tisch. Etwas hochpreisig aber Preis-Leistung stimmen. Ambiente etwas verbesserungswürdig. Ein kleiner Topf mit Kräutern in der Mitte würde schon ein etwas besseres mediterranes Klima schaffen. Alles in allem sehr zu empfehlen.

Ein sehr schönes Lokal inmitten der schönen Stadt Bad Münstereifel. Man wird direkt von der Chefin sehr freundlich empfangen und zum Tisch gebracht. Es handelt sich um ein kleines aber feines Restaurant. Der Eindruck wurde durch die hervorragenden Speisen mehr als bestätigt. Alles war sehr lecker, sehr frisch und sehr schön serviert. Sicherlich nicht ganz günstig, aber definitiv jeden Cent wert. Wir werden nicht das letzte Mal dort gewesen sein.

Exzellentes Essen in entspannter Atmosphäre, sehr guter und aufmerksamer Service. Wer Fragen zu den Speisen hat, der bekommt von Ralf (Koch) eine fachkundige Erklärung, Fragen zum Wein werden ausführlich von Vanessa (Service) beantwortet. Es gibt dort mediterrane Speisen, eine gute Auswahl an feinen Vorspeisen, Fleisch, Fisch, vegetarisch. Wir hatten verschiedene Tapas, Doradenfilet, Iberico Schwein und ein Desert. Alles war geschmacklich ein Genuss und die Portionen sind genau richtig. Eine Tischreservierung ist hier sehr angeraten.

Leuk, knus en gezellig restaurant. Ze hebben er heerlijke gerechten en het is er gezellig zitten. Het is er niet groot maar daarom ook zo knus. De gerechten waren heerlijk en de kok kwam ook even aan tafel om te vragen hoe het smaakte. Als voorgerecht had ik gehaktballetjes in pittige tomatensalsa en als hoofdgerecht zwijn met gegratineerde aardappels en groenten. Als toetje vanille-ijs met hazelnoot. Alle gerechten om je vingers bij af te likken 😋 Ik vermoed dat dit restaurant door een echtpaar wordt gerund en dat doen ze heel goed. De bediening was goed en aardig. Dit is een aanrader 👍🏼
