We were there today....Everything was delicious...clean...and a nice atmosphere..Thank you...also for the friendly service

The restaurant "Em Höttchen" lived up to our expectations: we enjoyed good, home-style food, and special requests were easily accommodated. Since Trappist beers aren't available everywhere, "La Trappe" was a special way to round off the evening.

We discovered the restaurant quite by chance and were immediately impressed. Upon entering, we were struck by how tidy and clean everything was; we immediately felt at home. The welcome was very warm, and the staff incredibly friendly, attentive, and accommodating. They even took time for a pleasant chat, which we found very pleasant. The menu was just right—not overwhelming, but with a nice selection that truly offers something for everyone. The food was outstanding and tasted just right. You can tell the love that goes into the cooking here. We also really enjoyed the drinks. The value for money was absolutely right for us. We were completely satisfied and would have loved to eat more if we weren't already so full! A great end to our short vacation—a cozy atmosphere, great service, and excellent food. Highly recommended!

The service was very friendly and attentive. The seating areas at the front of the shop look attractive and comfortable... Unfortunately, we were assigned a seat in the courtyard, which could definitely be improved. The food was so-so... the fries were tasty and crispy, but I've had much better schnitzel. In my opinion, it was a pre-made schnitzel that was fried in a pan. For the price and in a restaurant, I expect quality.

We would have liked to have been guests today. The attempt to move from the blazing sun to a seat in the restaurant was thwarted by a very unfriendly "employee". We also failed to get a high chair for our 1 1/2 year old son. Update after the owner's response Apparently the case needs to be described in more detail because with such unfriendly and rude service you no longer remember the alienated customers. When we asked for a children's chair, the host replied very briskly that there was only one. This one was available. We and our son wouldn't care whether it was made of wood or plastic. After asking where we should sit, a table inside was offered. When we laboriously brought the heavy real wood children's chair to the table offered, we were once again told in the lowest tone that the table was reserved. No evidence suggested this. Then the so-called host discovered that there was no space available inside. We should sit outside. There were less than two dozen guests in the house. Most of them sat in the shady side courtyard as it was almost unbearable in the blazing sun in front of the restaurant. In my opinion, the owner's response only confirms the review.

Two of us visited the outdoor area on May 1st. We ate a salad with chicken breast strips and a schnitzel with onions. The food was delicious, but we were surprised that the mustard and the slice of bread with the salad were charged extra. At some point it felt like we were on the show: Understand fun. We ordered wine and the waitress asked if she could pour it into the used glass that was already there and still had some left in it. My husband was still eating with good appetite when the waitress came back, uncalled, and asked if they could pack up the rest so my husband could continue eating it at home. We had to laugh even though it wasn't a laugh. Something like this shouldn't happen to the staff and you certainly don't need any special training. That wasn't enough, we were told the amount to pay, we asked for the bill and lo and behold, it just so happened that it was 4 euros less than the amount we had been told. Even if there was no space in other restaurants, I wouldn't go there again for the reasons mentioned.

We discovered the restaurant today by chance. After looking at the menu, we decided to eat there. The restaurant was incredibly neat and very clean. You immediately felt comfortable. The nice lady (probably the owner) and the nice gentleman behind the counter were very friendly and accommodating. There was also time for a nice conversation. We thought the food selection was great. Not too much and not too little, so there was something for everyone. The wine tasted wonderful. The food (Cordonbleu with fries and side salad and the pepper schnitzel) were OUTSTANDING. PRAISE TO THE KITCHEN!!! It was really, really tasty. If we hadn't been so full, we would have eaten another portion :D Unfortunately, we live 1 1/2 hours away, otherwise we would eat here more often. We will eat there again on our next visit to Bad Münstereifel. Kind regards to the nice owners :)

There were three of us who ate here and all I can say is it was simply great! The food was cooked and served with a lot of love, the service was super friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere was rustic and cozy. A little tip: Be sure to reserve in advance as it is always very crowded!

Service is ok - unfortunately a bit taciturn and the candle wasn't turned on upon arrival - sometimes it's the little things. Unfortunately, we only eat things that are quick - schnitzel, currywurst, a fish dish and tarte flambée. Schnitzel was very tasty, but I was just expecting a winter menu in December, as it said an excerpt from the menu on the homepage, but then it was the whole menu. Ambiance - very dark, a few gnomes and mini trees didn't conjure up a Christmassy ambience. Next time I'd rather go back to the restaurant opposite (Erftblick), as it has a better selection, Christmas dishes and better service.

My husband and I stopped here for lunch yesterday. We were warmly welcomed by a quaint, friendly innkeeper and very friendly service. We ordered the best Altbier ever. Bolten Altbier. My husband ate onion schnitzel, very 😋. I chose natural herring with fried potatoes. Everything was good! Except that the goulash soup was very spicy for our taste and vinegar was cooked with the onions champions, which unfortunately didn't taste good. But that's taste. The schnitzel was great!!

Don’t come here to eat, my wife asked if we could sit at a table the waitress said yes then a grumpy old man told here to get up and sit at the table next to it. After we ordered another table of 2 people came and got the table that my wife had chosen and the waitress agreed to. That is unacceptable since the guests did it gave a reservation either, the greedy grumpy old man just did it to see if he could get a larger group of people and when he saw it didn’t work sat down the other 2 guests this was in less than 15 min time. Don’t leave your money here if on holiday.

We were here today relatively by chance and decided on a pepper cream schnitzel and a currywurst special, both with fries. Both dishes were served very quickly and were prepared and decorated with a lot of love and attention to detail. Both ladies who served us were very friendly. However, the thought that it looked completely different there three years ago left a bad aftertaste. But one can say that this city and its restaurants, at least from the outside, have recovered. It remains to be hoped that something like this doesn't happen again to this extent. The address is saved and we would love to come back!

Nice, quiet place, but we were there on a weekday. We ordered two schnitzels, Wiener and paprika, plus beer. Everything was delicious. On the downside, there was no menu in English, apparently the clientele was mostly local.

Right in the heart of Bad Münstereifel and after severe damage caused by the flood, this traditional family business has returned to its former strength. There is a legendary currywurst but also tarte flambée, brawn, crusty goulash and other delicious dishes. There are also sumptuous healthy salads. We have always received very friendly service and have been 100% satisfied. The Trappist beer is also highly recommended.

The food - we ate a mixed salad plate with sheep's cheese, a mushroom cream schnitzel and a cordon bleu - was of exceptionally good quality. We have rarely been able to enjoy such a tasty and consistently fresh salad. All in all, thank you very much for the wonderful time you gave us! A beautiful restaurant with a small terrace in the restored old town of Bad Münstereifel, right on the Erft. Because it's asparagus season, I ordered asparagus with cooked ham, triplets and holandaise sauce and drank a Bitburger Pils with it. It took a while for the food to arrive; The reason was that the dish was freshly prepared - and as we all know, that takes time. It tasted excellent. This restaurant is absolutely recommended, especially since the prices are quite “civilian” and have not been raised due to the season (asparagus season!), as is currently the case. often found.
