Die Wartezeit auf die Bestellung und das Essen war etwas länger als üblich, aber das Essen war sensationell. Alles frisch und super lecker.

Sehr ruhig dort. Getränke waren kühl und gut. Essen schien auch zu laufen. Montage ist viel zu in Hahnenklee.

Ein gelungenes Abschlussessen unseres Urlaubs. Den Chef Burger kann ich sehr empfehlen. Da die Bedienung alleine war hat das Aufnehmen der Bestellung etwas gedauert. Dafür sehr freundlich, Getränke und Essen kamen dafür bereits nach kurzer Zeit und es wurde sich erkundigt ob es uns schmeckt. Klare Empfehlung wenn man das Preisniveau von Lokalen im restlichen Dorf vergleicht

Von den 3 Tagwn hier im Hahnenklee waren wir 2 mal Essen bei Steffens.. Super lecker.Und die Bedienung ein grosses Lob.. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Heute das Restaurant besucht.Service ist nicht mehr so gut wie vor 5 Jahren!Das Essen, liebloser Salat mit Matjessoße.Jägerschnitzel ,Formschnitzel 4 mm Fleisch, Panade.,Einzig die Pilzsoße war schmackhaft,!! Ich kann das Lokal nicht mehr empfehlen.Schade vor Jahren war diese Lokal ein gutes Speiselokal.

Habe dort nur was gegessen. Essen war gut soweit. Nur die Dame im Service war mega unfreundlich und genervt.

Wir waren am Himmelfahrtstag hier. Eine unglückliche Wahl, denn der Ort und die wenigen Restaurants waren alle sehr gut besucht. Die 3 routinierten Damen blieben sehr ruhig und freundlich. Die Getränke kamen schnell und fas Essen war sehr lecker.

Sehr freundliches Personal. Meine Spargelsuppe wurde vergessen dafür habe ich eine Berliner Weiße als Entschuldigung bekommen. Sowas findet man heut zu Tage eher selten.

Wir wurden leider sehr enttäuscht. Absolut keine Empfehlung. Der Kontakt am Telefon war sehr nett, aber über 1,5h auf das Essen zu warten und dann noch etwas falsches zu bekommen, hat den Vogel abgeschossen. Außerdem waren es sehr kleine Portionen für viel Geld. Schade…

Wir haben heute richtig lecker zu Mittag gegessen, Cordon Bleu und Veggie Burger mit Pommes. Das Cordon Bleu und der Burger sowie Pommes, Dip etc waren mit Liebe selbst gemacht. Hier passte alles Service, Essen, Ambiente.

Wir wollten dort eine Kleinigkeit essen und trinken. Haben 20 Minuten auf die Bedienung gewartet, diese hat zwar den Nebentisch abgeräumt, uns aber gänzlich ignoriert. Sind dann kommentarlos gegangen. Service ne glatte 0!

Leider war die Bedienung unfassbar unfähig. Hat Geschirr hinter mir runtergeschmissen, was 20 Minuten später dort noch immer lag. Man musste, wenn man zum WC wollte, drüber steigen! Zwischenzeitlich war weibliche Bedienung da, die mir meinen Teller wegnehmen wollte, obwohl das Besteck ganz klar signalisiert hat, dass ich noch nicht „fertig“ bin…musste sie mehrfach bitten, meinen Teller in Ruhe zu lassen. Der Windbeutel war aber ok! Zimmer konnt ich nicht bewerten, daher „blind“ 3 Sterne vergeben

Ick sitze hier seit zwei Stunden und das ist mein Essen . Zum Glück bin ick etwas mehr und falle nicht gleich um. Wir sind mit 12 Leuten hier und die Hälfte hat schon aufgegessen und ist fertig . Ich könnte kotzen wenn ich was im Magen hätte 😡😡😡

Komme seit Jahren nach Hahnenklee. War diverse Male bei CAFE Steffens unter dem alten Betreiber. Was diesmal geboten worden ist würde den Alten Hr. Steffens den Magen umdrehen. Service schlecht und dann das Essen. 2 mal Currywurst Pommes die Soße was auch immer das war wässerig, Wurst geschmacklich wabbelig kein Currypulver drauf. Hacksteak mit Champions, Hacksteak aufgewärmte Fertigfrikadelle und zu guter Letzt Bratkartoffeln mit Spiegelei. Kartoffeln max 150 gr. angedunstet mit Zwiebeln weder Speck noch Krosch gebraten. 2 Minispiegeleier und das ganze für 11.90euro. War bestimmt 15 mal früher dort essen. Jetzt leider zum letzten Mal. Schade um das so tolle Haus was es früher mal war. Ich komme nicht wieder.

Wir sind wegen der angepriesenen Windbeutel von Lautenthal aus zu Steffens gefahren und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Diese haben den Namen Riesenwindbeutel wirklich verdient. Update ein Jahr später, 15.04.2026: Wir waren mittlerweile vier mal hier und haben es bis jetzt nicht bereut und werden auch weiterhin hier zum Windbeutel essen hin gehen. Aufgrund der Rezensionen habe ich mir auch mal die Situation auf der Herrentoilette angeguckt und war positiv überrascht. Alles sauber und duftet gut.

Käsespätzle waren 80 cent Spätzle die mit höchstwahrscheinlich 1-2 Scheiben Gouda oder Butterkäse überbacken wurden, das Beste am Gericht waren die Röstizwiebeln. Leider sehr enttäuschend und auch alles sehr lieblos angerichtet.

Wer viel Wartezeit für durchschnittliches Essen mitbringt kann hier zufrieden sein. Wir waren es jedenfalls nicht. 1 1/2 Stunden vom Betreten des Restaurants bis wir das Essen am Tisch hatten. Wenn es wenigstens noch geschmeckt hätte, wäre es ja vielleicht noch vertretbar, aber es war ein lieblos zusammengewürfeltes Essen und schmeckte nicht besonders. Zum Bezahlen sind wir dann direkt an die Kasse, um nicht weitere Zeit mit endlosen warten zu verbringen. Die Bedienung war zwar freundlich, aber wenn man uns gleich darauf hingewiesen hätte, dass man mit mindestens 60 Minuten Wartezeit rechnen müsse, hätten wir uns entschieden nicht dort zu Essen. Wir gehen jedenfalls nicht wieder dorthin.

Das Essen war sehr gut und lecker. Man hat das bekommen was man für den Preis erwartet. Es ist schön ruhig und entspannend. Ganz ehrlich ein super Restaurant 👍.

Essen war nicht gut. Wir haben uns für den Burger entschieden. Mit einer kleinen Hand voll Pommes. War keine Gute Idee. Wenn man 19€ dafür zahlen muss kann man erwarten das man kein Hackbällchen Toskana in einem Burgerbrötchen bekommt. Schon mal was von Burgerpresse gehört? Pommes extrem Salzig.

Dieses Restaurant haben wir genau 2 x besucht, das erste und das letzte Mal. Wir hatten uns auf die "Spezialität des Hauses" gefreut (Rinderroulade). Uns wurde an diesem Donnerstag gesagt, die Rouladen seien ausverkauft. Von Montag bis Mittwoch war das Restaurant aber geschlossen. Wir haben zwar trotzdem dann dort gegessen, können wir aber nicht empfehlen. Das Fleisch war richtig durch statt medium, unser Sohn hatte nach einer halben Stunde Magenschmerzen und Durchfall. Meine Currywurst (mit komischer brauner Sauce und ohne Currypulver, kein Salz auf den Pommes) kann ich ebenfalls nicht empfehlen. Nie wieder!

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und das Essen hat hervorragend geschmeckt.

Ich bin immer noch sprachlos..... Ich habe vorher auch hier Bewertungen gelesen..( einige sind schon sehr negativ) Dennoch sind wir zum Essen hierher gegangen. Das Ambiente und die freundliche Bedienung waren sehr angenehm.. Bis dann die Chefin kam und fragte uns nachdem wir gegessen haben, ob es geschmeckt hat.... Und ich bin keiner der " Hinter dem Rücken " negative Bewertung schreibt. Ich sagte dann , daß das Schnitzel nicht in Ordnung war. Darauf sagte sie dann, ich wäre der 1. Der das sagen würde und ging dann weg. Und im weggehen kam dann noch, " dann ist das so"... Sorry , das ist hier ein gant klares " No go"... Wenn der Gast hier abgespeist wird..... Untere Schublade... Fam. Grummich

Wir sind einfach nur sprachlos, wie unglaublich KÖSTLICH dieses Essen war! Wir hatten u.a. das Pfefferschnizel, Cordon Bleu und Jägerschnitzel. Dazu gab es selbstgemachte Bratkartoffeln, ein super frischer Salat mit leckerem Dressing und Hollondaise. Noch dazu stimmt der Preis absolut. Wir kommen gerne wieder,wenn wir mal wieder im Harz sind! Vielen Dank, es war großartig!

Sry, das war wirklich schlecht. Man hätte davon absehen können wenn die bestellten Käsespätzle ein Wochengericht wären. Laut Rezension aber schon vor 4 Monaten auf der Karte. Käsespätzle waren 50 Cent Nudeln mit anscheinend 1-2 Scheiben Gouda unten angebraten und Röstzwiebeln oben drauf. Dafür 12€ bezahlt. Einfach absolut ohne Geschmack. Wahrscheinlich das schlechteste Essen in den letzten 10 Jahren Urlaub

Ich kann für dieses "Restaurant", sofern man es überhaupt so nennen kann, nicht mal 1 Stern vergeben. Wir waren vor 1 Woche mit 6 Personen, darunter 2 minderjährige Kinder, dort essen.Wir wollten u.a. ein ganz einfaches Hamburger Schnitzel. Wir bekamen zur Antwort, dass dies nicht möglich ist, da es keine Eier gäbe.Da fragten wir nach,wie denn die Schnitzel paniert werden....So dann wurden Salate zu den Fleischgerichten serviert. 1 Salat wurde komplett über die Hose meines Partners geschüttet,die Soße verteilte sich unterm Tisch u an den Tischbeinen.Es wurde sich weder entschuldigt, noch wurde ein Lappen gebracht,geschweige denn der Tisch gereinigt.Erst auf Nachfrage, durften wir uns an einen anderen Tisch setzen,sollten dann aber wieder an unseren eigentlichen Tisch zurück, nachdem dieser mehr als nur oberflächlich gereinigt wurde.Als wir dies verneinten u darauf hinweisen, dass weder eine Entschuldigung erfolgte,für den verkippten Salat noch ein ein Lappen gebracht wurde,wurden wir verbal von dem Kellner angegriffen.Als dann endlich mal die Chefin kam,hörte sie sich nicht mal den ganzen Vorfall an, schickte d Kellner, der in diesem Augenblick mit unseren ersten Essen kam,wieder zurück in die Küche und sagte zu uns,dass "das Essen heute sehr lange dauere".Wir zogen uns dann an u wollten das Lokal verlassen,wurden dann noch fast körperlich von dem verursachenden Kellner angegriffen. Zu guter letzt sagte die Chefin zu uns: "dass man genau höre,wo wir herkommen". Sowas haben wir in unserem ganzen Leben noch nicht erlebt. Dieses Lokal könnte in Hahnenklee das letzte sein, in welchem man etwas zu Essen bekommt.....Wir würden lieber hungern, als jemals dort wieder einen Fuß hinein zu setzen!!!!!!

Delicious food, diverse menu, very friendly staff and owners.

We've eaten at Steffens for dinner several times and have always been satisfied. For New Year's Eve, we were lucky and managed to reserve a table the day before. We had to choose a dish in advance, which didn't bother us at all. It did take quite a while for our food to arrive, but the restaurant was packed. The service could have been a bit more attentive with the drinks (it was busy and certainly stressful), but the friendliness of all the staff more than made up for it. Our meal was delicious (venison roast and schnitzel), and the dessert was fantastic (chocolate soufflé). The only downside to the meal was the red cabbage, which had a rather odd texture. We'll definitely be back. :-) Unfortunately, I can't comment on the hotel or the rooms.

We ate there and were very satisfied. The service was super friendly and the food was excellent.

Not recommended. We stopped there for dinner on a Saturday afternoon, too far away to wait. We waited for a server, but no one came. So we found a table and waited. We were ignored for a full 30 minutes; even guests who arrived after us were served before us. After we were finally acknowledged, the only question asked was whether we wanted to order... As if we were sitting there for fun?! Afterward, we received our drinks fairly quickly. On top of that, a "Reserved" sign and cutlery for the next guests were placed on the table without a word, even though we were still waiting for our own food. Simply rude and unwelcoming! The food was only lukewarm and, at best, average in taste. If we hadn't gone to the counter to pay, we could have waited there for ages. We were thoroughly disappointed by such a waste of time and will certainly not be returning.

We came in for a coffee and were served a coffee with spoiled milk. After we mentioned this to the waiter she even didn’t say sorry. Food also wasn’t really tasty, but prices are high. Overall atmosphere wasn’t great and it smelled as an old oil.

A hectic restaurant with rather average quality. The Cordon Bleu was probably frozen, at least it tasted like it. My wife's venison meatballs were tasteless and dry. That was it for us.

A super friendly team, very attentive. The food is absolutely delicious. The breakfast is fantastic, always fresh, and they make sure everything is always replenished. A wonderful, friendly atmosphere in this house; you feel very comfortable there. Highly recommended, we will definitely be back. Thank you so much for everything, dear Steffens team!

The salad was brown and wilted, the cucumber shriveled, and the canned corn was already brown. At that point, I'd already lost my appetite for the main course. But I wanted to give them a chance. The main course took a quarter of an hour from ordering to being served. Good food doesn't come that fast. The Jägerschnitzel was unseasoned, with canned mushrooms and frozen croquettes. I actually wanted dumplings, but the dumpling dough wasn't available. So you either have to order the dumplings from the menu or make them yourself. Absolutely not recommended!!!

The single room was okay, but the shower needed improvement. The breakfasts for guests were very good. Very good and large cream puffs. Unfortunately, the soup was just water... but other than that, the food in the restaurant was good. The service was very friendly.

Food was good, only the Burger Paddy was a meatball, ambience was okay, stuffy air, sticky tables, etc. But staff were friendly and open-minded

I spontaneously stopped by for dinner. The burger was very good. The venison goulash was good, but I wasn't 100% impressed; the sauce was missing a little kick. The minced steak was more like a thick meat patty, which was surprising, but not bad. Everyone really enjoyed the red cabbage. The ambiance was a bit dark. We would come back, though.

We had dinner at the restaurant on Saturday evening with seven people. The atmosphere was great, the staff was very friendly. The menu was very extensive, and everyone found something delicious. We felt very well looked after and cared for. We would love to come back. And we are very grateful that we were able to get a table at short notice, as our long-term reservation at the Italian restaurant on Friday completely backfired. Keep up the good work, a very cozy restaurant. 🥰

We visited several times. The coffee, hot chocolate, and cake were delicious. The steak with chanterelle mushrooms was excellent, as was the hunter's schnitzel. We also ordered a salad to go; the wait was about 15 minutes. The salad was truly delicious and highly recommended.

There were eight of us dining, and we were all satisfied. We were warned when we made our reservations that there would be a wait. We simply packed a few games and ordered an extra glass of wine 😉👍 Everyone's food was delicious. One star deducted for the "stale" atmosphere and the fact that it wasn't noticeable when the drinks were empty. (But that could also have been due to the high volume of visitors.) Nevertheless, we would come again and can recommend it.

None of this was particularly tasty: The venison roast wasn't prepared in the traditional way (seasoned only with pepper and salt?) and the typical game spices were missing! The red cabbage was almost cooked to a pulp, also poorly seasoned, but thickly thickened. This was already criticized on our vacation 3 years ago. The hunter's sauce for the schnitzel was also tasteless (cream, thickener, mushrooms), and the side salad, with lots of iceberg lettuce, filled the plate 🥴 The absolute highlight was the so-called cream puff: an absolutely tough, dessert-plate-sized dough ball that tasted as if it had been sitting open in the kitchen all day, absorbing all the cooking flavors!! Well, enjoy! The 2 stars are only because you can still tell that the basic ingredients are good; but the execution is disastrous!!!

We had dinner here with my husband last week. It takes a while for them to take our order and give our order, but waiting was worth it! The soup was perfect, the food was good and everything was good. Not a fan of the place, but the food was amazing! We left the restaurant thinking i want to come back and eat there again. Also the person who took and gave our order was friendly. 😊

Great service, extremely accommodating. Delicious food, even simple dishes like the soups, pinsa, and cheese spaetzle are highly recommended.

I stayed here for two nights in a single room with a terrace. It was very good value for money in terms of size, bathroom, and mattress. The breakfast buffet left nothing to be desired, and I received friendly service in the restaurant, and the food was delicious. I was able to park my motorcycle in a private parking lot right next to the hotel.

I ate there this evening, or rather, tried to. I ordered a steak with chanterelle mushrooms for €35. It was supposed to be medium. I got a shoe sole that was so cooked through that it squeaked when I cut it. I sent it back and asked for a repair. I got back equally tough, overcooked meat, which was even chewed by other guests. Disgusting!!! The "oriental" "cook" said: "If you don't want this, get out of here!!!" The absolute worst!!! I would not recommend it at all. This kind of business shouldn't even be operating in the restaurant industry!!!

Disgusting! Had a Schöfferhofer grapefruit where the best-before date had been accidentally removed (unfortunately, noticed too late). Service was not only unfriendly but also slow and disinterested. They felt like we were disturbing their midday peace... but then they wouldn't leave the shop open! And the long-awaited Kaiserschmarn, a disgrace!!! Half-finished, the consistency was like it was yesterday, and a portion that wasn't even big enough for a child's plate. The apple sauce was the best, but it probably came from a jar and tasted bland. And then there were €11.90 for that. Absolutely not, never not recommended... As a fan of "Schmarn" (smothered pancakes), I was totally disappointed, especially with the best-before date removed and the indifference with which it was reacted...

We have been here 3 times already and it is great, dog friendly and spacious with a mini kitchen. Price/performance ratio is top, very tasty scrambled eggs for breakfast and the place is very nice with a nice children's playground in the park and customer friendly, we will definitely be back ❤️ the Liebesbankweg is so beautiful and on the Bocksberg there are lots of activities for children too 🙏 best wishes Sabine and Heiko and our ridgeback dog Lotte💐

We've been going to Hahnenklee for 40 years and have known this place for a long time. It used to be a homely and well-run restaurant. This time, it was truly creepy. Everything seemed very neglected and unloved... there were little dead flies all over the windowsill. We stopped in in the afternoon and ordered a snack. The classic currywurst with fries. I got a supermarket sausage, smoked and reddish, and from the deep fryer... I left it after one bite... My wife had a waffle. You'd think you couldn't go wrong with that. Far from it... the whole thing was covered in burnt pieces, like soot... which was probably due to poor care of the waffle iron. I know how difficult it is to run a restaurant. You have to demonstrate quality every day. But you shouldn't do it so half-heartedly and so poorly...

We spent our vacation in Hanenklee and visited Cafe Steffens several times. This restaurant is highly recommended, as it offers a wide and delicious selection. We would especially like to emphasize the friendly service!

We ordered three dinners (burgers, brizza, and cheese spaetzle) around 8:30 p.m. and had to wait 50 minutes for our food, even though the restaurant was barely busy. Since we were there with our 8-year-old son, we politely asked how long the food would take and received a rather rude reply that we had just ordered relatively late...not very customer-friendly. There was also a family with a toddler there who was constantly screaming so loudly that we and other guests were completely annoyed. There was no reaction from the waitress. When the food finally arrived, the brizza and burgers tasted good. The cheese spaetzle were a complete disaster: dry spaetzle with dried-on cheese and a few fried onions. So, we cannot recommend the restaurant.

The two of us had dinner here – the food was good, albeit poorly presented. The ambiance was not pleasant – jumbled and dusty decorations, plastic plants with price tags on them, and loud, blaring radio music. Furthermore, we weren't informed in advance that card payments weren't possible due to a technical problem; we weren't informed until we checked out.

We had a flammkuchen (flannel cake) on the terrace, and it was delicious. We only had to wait 50 minutes for it, even though it wasn't very busy. The prices are reasonable, and the staff was friendly.

This was our first time at the restaurant and we had to wait over an hour for our food. That's unacceptable, and the cleanliness wasn't great either, with cobwebs in the corners, etc. The food was OK.

The service was very friendly, the cheese spaetzle and salad were delicious. The visit was worthwhile.

We were there for the first time today! Everything was great!

The food was a disaster. Whoever cooks here is in the wrong profession.

We stayed here for five days last week and stayed in the two single rooms. It was very nice and very good value for money! The mattresses are very comfortable. The rooms are a decent size. The furnishings and bathroom are very practical, and everything was perfect. We will definitely come back!

We were on a moped holiday in the Harz Mountains. The price/performance ratio was absolutely fine. The rooms were good, and the beds were also OK. Breakfast had a sufficient selection. For that price, you can't complain. We'll definitely check there first next time.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend it. The food was a complete disaster. Long wait, no sauce for the schnitzel, and unfortunately, when I asked, they couldn't bring me any sauce either.

Disappointing. Waited 1:15 hours for the food even though it wasn't that busy. One slice of roast venison. Apple and red cabbage completely overcooked. Prices were outrageous. Staff were quite nice, hence 2 stars.

I wanted to eat a knuckle of pork for my 50th birthday; when it arrived, I was almost stunned. The knuckle was completely flabby. They tried to recook it, but to no avail. A knuckle of pork should have crispy skin and the meat should fall off the bone. I also pointed out to the waitress that there were guests sitting at two tables away who weren't even being noticed. And to top it all off, the waitress didn't even respond in a friendly manner. And that just goes to show that as a guest passing through, you're apparently not a bother.

Clean, good, and cozy accommodations. Small kitchenette, comfortable beds. Quiet. We felt very comfortable and would gladly return. Good value for money. Decent breakfast. Very friendly service staff. We only ate broth once, which was very good. Our hiking companions always enjoyed the food. Anyone who finds fault with the outdated ambience should instead be happy about every hotelier and restaurateur who hasn't given up during the coronavirus pandemic and is still dedicated to this demanding task. Running a hotel and restaurant business is no easy feat. Many thanks to the owners and staff for the pleasant stay.

Very quiet restaurant with very good food at reasonable prices.

We only stopped here for a quick bite, as apparently you can't have lunch in this town until after 2:30 p.m. But coincidences are always good. We ate a classic schnitzel here. It was accompanied by a salad starter. The schnitzel was served carelessly with fries. But it tasted amazing. My wife had a burger. It looked world-class and tasted it, too. The service was super friendly and accommodating.

We've been here twice a year, and it was always lovely and the food was delicious. Unfortunately, this was our last visit here, after waiting well over two hours for our food and then two meals were forgotten. We'll have to say goodbye. Unbelievable.

We waited two hours for a schnitzel with fries. Even when the restaurant is full, it's too long. The menu is simply too extensive. It needs to be optimized. The two stars are for the very friendly service.

Das Essen war 5/5, unsere Bedienung war 5/5 aber das Ambiente war leider gar nix. Was wirklich schade ist weil der Rest so unfassbar gut war. Aber für mich gehört ein gutes Ambiente einfach dazu. Vielleicht kann man hier noch einige Euros investieren sodass der erste Eindruck nicht so sehr abschreckt. Die Portionen sahen zuerst klein aus, doch wir sind beide davon mehr als satt geworden.

My wife and I were at Restaurant Steffens three days ago. The reception of an older Mr. M. was, I would call it, “some getting used to”. My wife ordered a chicken schnitzel with fries, I ordered a pepper schnitzel with the request to replace the side dish of fries with dumplings. Mr. M. replied, in my opinion angrily, that this was possible with an additional charge of €3. I explained to him that three days ago we were able to change the side dish at no extra charge. He replied snidely that that was probably three years ago. Then the schnitzels came that my wife was the size of a small fried egg. Instead of the pepper schnitzel, I was served a champingnong schnitzel, with 8 small morsels of dumplings. Mr. M. explained to me that we have now sorted things out that way. That means, for an additional charge of €3, the fries will not be credited. I replied that it wouldn't fill me up and ordered another portion Dumplings. There were again 8 small pieces of dumplings. You have to imagine it as if you were cutting the smallest Pfanni dumplings into four parts. When the bill came, I had to pay €6 to replace the insert. When asked that we didn't have any fries as a side dish, Mr. M. explained that that was just the way it was and left. You just feel ripped off. We won't be visiting this place again in the near future. Gone were the pleasant times when Ms. Steffens was still present. The friendliness and the price-performance ratio were there for years. It's a shame actually.

In the middle of Hahnenklee is the Steffens restaurant, which we visited with four people. The food was very tasty and freshly prepared, the atmosphere is cozy and the service was courteous and very nice. The price-performance ratio was good. Thank you, we will be happy to come again.

We were here for dinner. A very nice and attentive woman served us. The best thing first: the beef roulade was really very good, cooked like grandma did. There's nothing wrong with that. Unfortunately, the chicken burger had a bit too much sweet chilli sauce on it, but it was still delicious. Unfortunately the children's meal, pasta with Bolognese, was nothing. Neither our child nor the dad, who had to eat it, liked it. But he liked the dumplings, red cabbage and sauce from the beef roulades so much that we swapped them. The fruit spritzers are a bit overpriced and not very tasty, unfortunately. The whole restaurant is getting quite old. Because you can still have a good meal here.

On the occasion of our vacation, we were guests here for dinner. We were guests with 4 people and had 2x schnitzel (asparagus & pepper), cheese spaetzle and children's bolo. Schnitzel asparagus highly recommended. As with the pepper schnitzel, the schnitzel could have been larger for the price. But the taste is okay. The cheese spaetzle was a 6 out of 10. The ambience and service are completely okay. Nice people there. I would like larger portions here. Otherwise it's nice here.

Super nice service. I had the crispy chicken burger and it was delicious.

I can only rate the restaurant I was in on 3 evenings in a row. Solid with 70s charm but very clean and tidy. Very friendly staff and very good food, everything freshly prepared and at reasonable prices! I'll be back!

Unfortunately I'm giving it a bad rating today. 2 pork medallions with 5-6 sticks of asparagus, sauce H. and potatoes for 37 euros!! I ordered and received 2 small, thin, dry, pickled 'steaks'...! I'm in tears at this poor price/performance ratio. 2 stars for the nice service.

Very nice waiter, an older gentleman. The prices are reasonable. We enjoyed the food. The cake was also very tasty. We would come again. There are a few games and art supplies for children.

Hotel Café Steffens was one of the best restaurants where we ate on our vacation! I have never eaten or drunk so well! The hotel looks very inviting and is very quiet! When you enter you are kindly shown to a free table, everything is very clean and since we were on vacation there at Christmas time, everything was very decorated for Christmas! The food was very, very tasty and the wine was recommended to us with the meal! The manager of the house was very nice, even though we were too early, we were allowed to order! Thank you very much for a great Christmas evening with good food and delicious wine ❤️ 🍷 on our own behalf ; I can't understand many of the negative reviews that have been written here and find it a complete impudence to drag such a beautiful restaurant into the dirt! But the person who is trashing this restaurant here is writing badly about everyone...

We ate here twice during our stay in Hahnenklee and were very satisfied both times. Service was always very friendly and communicative, the food was quite simple but always good.

The three of us (including 2 dogs) spontaneously went there for dinner this evening. We didn't have a reservation and were still warmly welcomed. The service was very friendly and accommodating. The price/performance ratio is also right here. Food was very tasty. The burgers and meat dishes are highly recommended. Not a long wait even though the restaurant was busy. We'd love to come back.
