Coffee with vision Today I found this rustic restaurant on my hike. It is not far from the city of Goslar and is easy to find. And 😀 of course back. The employees are very friendly and open-minded. I really liked that. I decided on coffee and cake as a small snack. These were exactly the right thing for me today. But the hearty dishes are also very well received. (...satisfied faces everywhere I look...) And of course not to forget: Probably the fabulous view of Harz, Goslar and into the distance. A little bit of Ischgl in the Harz National Park. All in all, a successful mix! Thank you very much for your hospitality 🍀

A fantastic place with an extraordinary view of Goslar! Located on Rammelsberg. We were there as part of the mining history workshop and were served the traditional Tscherp meal in the old mining area. It tasted great, there was plenty of food and it was lovingly arranged. The perfect place for such a large group! Parking spaces are plentiful. Well signposted. Highly recommended!

A wonderful place to look out over Goslar and enjoy the terrace. The food is ok - currywurst is always good, baked potatoes are ok. We didn't like the cake. The service is ok. Overall, things were somehow more consistent a few years ago.

A very pretty to rustic restaurant/restaurant. The interior design invites you to take a look at the different rooms and terraces. The outdoor terrace is particularly a highlight. Located high above Goslar, there is an impressive view of the medieval city. The driveway over the narrow and z. Partly unpaved forest road is something for experienced drivers when there is oncoming traffic. The food was very good, nothing was missing. It was a buffet. The service was very committed, attentive and friendly. All in all, if the weather is nice, we would like to have coffee ☕ and cake 🥧 from the terrace and enjoy the good view of Goslar. Thanks again to the boss of HOFFMEISTER from Lamspringe. 👍

If a dish bears the name of the restaurant (here "Maltermeister plate") It's supposed to represent something. And “Platte” suggests that you should get enough of it In this case there were three small pieces of meat, a few beans and a handful of fried potatoes. It was barely a plate, let alone a platter. The taste was good, except for the fried potatoes. They looked like they were straight out of a bag and warmed up. Unfortunately, it's like that everywhere - where the guests alone, for example. When you come for the view, the kitchen doesn't make any more effort. The Maltermeister Tower is no exception.

Food was OK. Service too. The atmosphere on the terrace is simply great because from there you have a great view of Goslar and parts of the Vor-Harz. The only drawback is the very bad road to the restaurant itself.

We met a closed group and were still able to find a place to sit outside in the sun. The meal, schnitzel with chanterelles and croquettes, came quickly and was really delicious. Price performance completely okay A view to melt away

The Maltermeister record is good. The potato soup, however, didn't taste good at all. The view from the terrace is great. Unfortunately, not all of the benches were equipped with seat cushions and there was a plague of wasps.

Really great. We sat on the terrace with a wonderful view over Goslar. The venison leg with apple red cabbage and croquettes is highly recommended. It's definitely worth the money.

The most beautiful location with the most beautiful view over Goslar. Great for hikers, or just for lunch... we've even celebrated our wonderful weddings there.

We went there today because the restaurant had been on our menu for a while. The view from outside was really nice. The selection of food was solid (especially for vegetarians). However, the cutlery drawer wasn't really clean - I would have liked it to be cleaned regularly. The price of the food is more in the medium-high price segment - which would be fine, but unfortunately you only pay for the ambience or the tourist stop. I had ordered beetroot gnocchi - but there were only 4-7 beetroot gnocchi on my plate out of maybe 25 gnocchi. The rest were normal. But here too, some of the gnocchi were very dry - so they were ready-made gnocchi that had to be softened, which they didn't manage to do. For just under €15, I just don't think that's right, especially since the portion wasn't exactly large, which could have made up for it. My partner had pasta in garlic oil, and unfortunately the pasta neither smelled nor tasted like garlic. The service was nice, yes, but that doesn't do me any good if the work is bad. After all, I don't want to become friends with them. When we asked for an ashtray, we were kindly told that it would be there shortly. Well, we're home now and still waiting for it... ... but we would have waited just as long for the bill if we hadn't gone in after 40(!) minutes and asked for it. There was no apology, but a clumsy reply with “57”. But I also find the selection of drinks very outdated and not rosy. For example, shandy is not on the menu and there are no cocktails at all. But the toilets were very clean! I wouldn't judge the whole thing so harshly if the prices weren't above the average establishment, because unfortunately it's nothing else.

A historical place in Goslar. Very nicely rustic furnished. Especially in summer you have a really good view from the outside terrace. This place is very popular and sometimes the tables are full. The food was very tasty. Update 2024: Very cool!

Best fries I've had in a long time, really crispy. The view from the terrace over Goslar is simply beautiful.

The food is okay, but it doesn't blow you away either. There were different opinions in the service as to which tables you could sit at. We had to change tables again when we were already seated. We were asked to do this very snippily and condescendingly. There were two of us there and we practically ate as a rehearsal as we had a larger event coming up. This will now take place somewhere else.

Wir haben im Juli 24 im Maltermeister Turm unsere Hochzeit gefeiert. Die Absprachen im Vorfeld waren unkompliziert, es wurde immer zuverlässig reagiert und alles später so umgesetzt wie besprochen. Das Essen am Tag der Feier hat uns und den Gästen sehr gut geschmeckt. Das tolle an der Location ist die große Tanzfläche, der getrennte Buffett Bereich und definitiv die private Terrasse direkt am Saal mit tollem Ausblick. So können alle die mal frische Luft brauchen oder rauchen direkt raus gehen, bleiben aber auf der Feier anwesend, da Saal und Terrasse mit einer riesigen Fensterfront verbunden sind. Wir sind super glücklich auch noch im nach hinein, dass wir uns für den Maltermeister Turm entschieden haben.

As a local, I'm ignoring the view at this point. About the culinary: The schnitzel with chanterelles and bacon that we ordered had to be returned because the schnitzel and the plate were dripping with grease. No crispy breading. Apart from that, the food was completely tasteless and unseasoned. A salad was offered as a replacement and it was explained that the schnitzels were fried in butter. The service suddenly had kitchen expertise. At least the food wasn't charged. Overall, the worst schnitzel of my life and the first meal I have returned in 10 years. I'm actually tough on it. The kitchen should google again how to prepare schnitzel and discover the benefits of salt and pepper. For over 20 euros this can hardly be serious. The love of oil and the lack of taste also applies to the pasta dishes with chanterelles, which were also ordered.

Das Wetter war nicht ganz so gut, deshalb saßen wir nach mehreren früheren Kurzbesuchen das erste Mal drinnen. Wir hatten einen schönen Tisch und einen netten jungen Mann als Bedienung und bestellten die Maltermeister Platte (Schweinefiletstücke mit Bratkartoffeln, Bohnen und Pilzsoße) und die geschmorte Hirschkeule mit Rotkohl, Kroketten, Preißelbeeren und Pilzen zu 21,50 Euro bzw. zu 24,90 Euro. Die Getränke und das Essen kamen sehr zügig. Bis dahin also nichts auszusetzen. Leider war das Essen nicht so ganz nach unserem Geschmack. Pilzsoße bei der Platte und Pilze beim Hirsch waren nahezu identisch, zu wenig und geschmacklos. Dem etwas nelkenlastigen Rotkohl fehlte die typisch süß-saure Würze, den Preißelbeeren fehlte es an Menge (viel zu wenig). Bohnen und Fleisch fehlte auch die Würze. Die Bratkartoffeln und Kroketten waren ok. Bezahlt haben wir mit Karte. Eine Rechnung haben wir nicht bekommen (und auch nicht eingesehen). Wir haben sie allerdings auch nicht verlangt, das werden wir das nächste mal in jedem Fall machen. Allerdings haben wir den Beleg für die Kartenzahlung erhalten. Da wir hier erst jetzt die Kritik einiger Vorredner am jeweils bezahlten Betrag gelesen haben, haben wir den Gesamtbetrag noch mal anhand der internet-Speisekarte überprüft: Bei uns war alles völlig korrekt. Die Bewertung "Befriedigend" bezieht sich bei uns also ausschließlich auf das nicht schlechte aber auch nicht so richtig leckere Essen, war eben "befriedigend.

Nice restaurant with a great view over Goslar and the Vorharz, especially from the outside terrace. It doesn't seem so comfortable inside, but that's a matter of taste. The food is decent, the selection of dishes is sufficient and the portions are appropriate for the prices. You get full. The service is quick and friendly. Only the road to the restaurant has suffered a lot over time, but I don't think you can blame the operators for that. If you can and want to, you can incorporate the master painter's tower into your hike.

Excursion restaurant with a great view over Goslar. The chanterelles advertised on the chalkboard were not available again. My suggestion to change the board was commented on with cheeky words from the waitress. Thank you - never again!

Wir sind auf einer Wanderung dort eingekehrt und haben auf der Terasse gesessen. Sehr schöner Ausblick und netter Service. Capucchino und Kuchen waren gut. Allersdings war der Rechnungsbetrag gefühlt falsch mit 18 Euro und wir haben wohl einen anderen Tisch bezahlt. Nach den Bewertungen hier scheint es nicht das erste Mal gewesen zu sein.

We stopped there on a hike and sat on the terrace. Very nice view and nice service. Capuccino and cake were good. However, it felt like the bill amount was wrong at 18 euros and we probably paid for a different table. From the reviews here it seems it wasn't the first time.

If you sit on the terrace you have the best view of Goslar, simply beautiful. A must. And easy to reach on foot. It's just two kilometers from the Goslar market square.

Lovely view! Come here to see the view, not for the food (and most certainly not for the service). We had ordered an apfelstrudel and an ice cream - first, we were told the apfelstrudel was to be replaced, then we got an apfelstrudel anyway. We never got our ice cream.

The food came really super quickly. And with it the disappointment. "Jägerschnitzel" the two small schnitzels were extremely oily (we had some of that for a long time...) and very tasteless, the fries were good, I found the sauce so bad that I scraped it off the schnitzel and the fries in the I left the sauce on the plate. And unfortunately the sauce had nothing to do with “cream” or “mushrooms”. The whole thing for 20€. So it was the first and last visit for us

The asparagus buffet was excellent! Above all, the regional asparagus is “a poem”! The staff were friendly and moved quickly, which is a challenge with a large group. The Malermeister Tower is probably the restaurant with the most beautiful view in Goslar. Even though we were there with a larger group (30 people), the food was perfect and the staff was super friendly. There is no “unfortunately that doesn’t work” here, they make everything possible! Incredibly good views, delicious food, friendly staff, the checkout can take a long time when it's busy

The food is ok. However, the portions are really puny for the price. Schnitzel Jäger style, two mini small and mega thin schnitzels and some sauce with exactly 5 small mushrooms and a small handful of fries almost 19 euros...that's brazen in contrast to other restaurants. You're happy to pay if you don't have to go to McDonald's after eating because you weren't full.
