When I was in Lindau, Germany, I had lunch at Da Capo Italian Restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing, the spaghetti was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, and the pizza was truly delicious. The restaurant itself is very comfortable, clean, and has a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Lindau

A very nice man at the reception desk said a colleague would be right away. A colleague arrived and was unfortunately very unfriendly. We wanted something to drink and just wait until the food was ready. So they sat here, or there, or there. He didn't care at all; he was unfriendly. Then, thank God, we went upstairs where we met Daniele. He joked with us. Super nice. We felt completely at home with him, attentive and friendly. The food was great; we're not big eaters. We've never been here before, even though we've been to Lindau countless times. But if Daniele stays, we'll be back next year.

Luckily, we managed to get a seat for two. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed, typically Italian. The menu is a bit overwhelming, with so many delicious dishes on it. We opted for Spaghetti Frutti Di Mare and were delighted. It came with extra Parmesan, garlic oil, and chili oil. Sooooo tasty and a huge portion. The service was also very attentive: Daniele è FANTASTICO 👏👏 We'll definitely be back for more delicious food. Best, Daniela and La Mama

I've been there twice now, and it will probably be my last time. First of all: our service was extremely friendly and prompt (hence the 5*), but the overall organization leaves a lot to be improved. Some employees seem to be playing a supporting role, or are just moving to the rhythm of the earth's rotation. You also have to bring your time. It was, of course, busy, and there are many tables to serve. When my pizza arrived, it was only lukewarm. It had definitely been sitting on the counter too long. It was no different on my first visit. Sitting outside is practically in Lindau's pedestrian zone, and that's pure Stachus.

The staff was very polite and friendly. We sat outside, and it was very nice and clean. The food was the perfect portion. There was a wide selection, and it came very quickly and tasted absolutely delicious.

Pizza was good service too but I ordered a water and got 5 glasses in the end it was 15,90€ for pizza 4 cheese and 1l water which I got in 5 glasses 25€

We've been going to Ristorante Café Da Capo for years and have never been disappointed. The wood-fired pizza and spaghetti frutti di mare were again excellent. The espresso and tiramisu rounded off the evening. The staff is very friendly. We highly recommend it and will be back soon.

We are very disappointed 😞 The food was very good, but the service is terrible. They wander around aimlessly with food and drinks 🫣. After asking several times, I was able to pay, even though there were several tables. They also included a three-euro tip for good measure 😡 I didn't actually get the bill I asked for, even though I asked several times. The waiter kept cursing in Italian. When I got fed up, we left.

We waited a long time to be served. It seemed like the rude waiter was doing it on purpose. The meal was satisfactory, but when it came to paying, the wait was the same, and to top it all off, he charged us more than expected, just as he had tried to do 15 minutes earlier at another table. After paying by credit card and then demanding what was due, he apologized, ashamed, and refunded me in cash. The waiter wasn't very honest.

The ice cream was truly delicious and beautifully presented. I've rarely had such good ice cream. The portions were more than adequate. The service was fast and attentive.

Disastrous experience – Never again! Our visit to this restaurant was a complete disappointment. The atmosphere was terrible, the food abysmal, and the service was absolutely disgraceful. The problems started right when we ordered: The waiters spoke only Italian and refused to serve us in German. They constantly whispered in Italian and gave us meaningful looks. Our drinks were forgotten, and my pizza only arrived after an unreasonably long wait. The waiters were unfriendly, inattentive, and seemed more concerned with their private conversations than with the customers. This restaurant is a disgrace and absolutely not recommended.

Very average! If you don't have too many demands, it's reasonable. But that's where it really ends.

Centrally located in the city center. We only ordered a snack for the kids – the pasta was okay, but definitely nothing special. The service was quite unfriendly; there was no Parmesan cheese with the pasta, and the staff insisted on tips. Prices were high, typical for Lindau. We had to ask for payment three times and then wait what felt like an eternity.

We waited 25 minutes for the wrong bruschetta... more than 30 minutes for the main course... the service was bad and not friendly at all... 1 star is too many!!!!!!!!!

We were getting to know the city, we wanted to go because of the good reviews, but it's 9:30 p.m. and they refuse us service and on the website it says they close at 11 p.m. Also, in a rude manner.

I didn't take many photos because I was too hungry, but the first fish dish I had was truly delicious. The flavors were well-balanced, expertly blended, with no one overpowering the other. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this experience!

The food was delicious 😋, some of the waiters were very friendly and polite, ordering food took a while, but ordering drinks was very quick. Except for one evening when something went wrong, but I didn't mind. Everything else was very, very friendly. I would go back anytime.

The Bianco Tartufo pizza is delicious. The service is friendly and everything is very quick. The ambiance is harmonious.

I didn't have a good experience. I ordered the tiramisu cup. Warning: It has nothing to do with tiramisu and is massively overpriced at €15.90 for 3 scoops of ice cream, 3 ladyfingers, and a shot of alcohol. It all started with the order. The menu says: "Let yourself be surprised + with eggnog & amaretto." When ordering, I told the waiter that if the cup contains vanilla ice cream, please order it with hazelnut ice cream, and instead of eggnog and amaretto, I only ordered eggnog. The waiter was slightly annoyed by me and said, "I'll make you a good offer. Tell me which flavors of ice cream you'd like, and we'll make you the cup that way." I then told him chocolate, hazelnut ice cream, and stracciatella ice cream, including just eggnog. I ate the whole thing because I didn't think anything of it. In the end, I asked my mom what was justified about the price, since an eggnog cup only cost €12. We approached the waiter and asked him what was special about the tiramisu cup, since it already stood out from the other cups in terms of price. He said he didn't set the prices and became rude. He didn't even want the 30-cent tip in the end. PS: It only included amaretto, and in terms of quantity and presentation, it looked the same as a chocolate cup for almost €10.

The customer service was impeccable and very patient with our table, where almost no one else could answer their questions about their drinks or food. I apologize to the poor waitress. The place was very nice, but there was no ventilation, not even a fan, and it was quite hot inside. As for the food: modest portions for the price, compared to other pizzerias like L'Osteria. Good quality and fairly average flavor. I tried the four-cheese pizza, and it left a little to be desired, but it was good.

Been here twice and I'm pretty sure I ordered the same thing mostly because i try out lasagne for the fun of it😊. But this place I can highly recommend. Friendly staff and excellent service. I also enjoyed the meal and would still choose the place if I'm ever to dine on the Island again.

The pizza was very good, one of the best I've ever had. Unfortunately, the waiter was a bit of a handful; he was absent-minded, didn't speak much English, and, even more surprisingly, he struggled with German. Apart from the service, everything else was great, which is why the rating is an average 3.

According to the sign, ice cream to go is only available for cash, which was very convenient for me, as I was traveling with young people for work and my employer had only given me cash. When I asked for a receipt, I was told they wouldn't give one, only if you paid by card. I replied that a receipt was mandatory if you asked for one. The waitress at the counter reacted very snippy and rudely and refused to give me one. For better or for worse, I had to pay privately with my personal card and now have to settle this with my employer. I'm wondering if, and if so, how much is being collected outside of tax, and what the tax office will say about it. The ice cream was rather mediocre and I really can't recommend it. I'm used to much better ice cream parlors. If I ever come back to Lindau, I won't visit this ice cream parlor a second time.

Rude, if you take up the table and there are not 4 of you they won't let you sit!

I've been there several times in the last few years. The seating is relatively pleasant, but the service and, above all, the value for money have deteriorated significantly. A mini salad at an Italian restaurant at a high price simply means you can dress it yourself. Instead, it was already dressed with a cheap, store-bought sauce. This Italian restaurant used to also serve oil with its pizza. It's probably become too expensive now. Never again...

Not recommended for breakfast. We waited 55 minutes until everyone finally got their breakfast, even though the restaurant was almost empty when we arrived. The omelets were extremely greasy, and the avocado toast was okay, but also somewhat disappointing.

We went there for ice cream. When we looked at the menu, we were shocked by the prices, but didn't think much of it. I found it pretty harsh that I only got two scoops with a little whipped cream for almost €15. The real blow came when I was paying, however, when the waiter got completely offended when my girlfriend didn't leave a tip.

1 star – Never again! What a disappointing experience. When we arrived, we said we’d like to have something to eat. We were told that food could only be served outside – even though the indoor area was empty and the weather was terrible. So much for hospitality. The waiter who took our order seemed extremely stressed. Before he even approached us, he first went around adjusting chairs at other tables — as if that was more important than acknowledging us. When we finally got to order, we had to give our drink order first. Not a big deal in itself, but his annoyed sighs in response to our polite requests were completely inappropriate. Then our food came before the drinks – that pretty much says it all. Two drinks were completely forgotten, and only after asking twice did we get them — just as we were finishing our meals. Pointless. The overall atmosphere? Rushed and unfriendly, even though only the terrace was open and it wasn’t even busy. There was no sense of care or customer service at all. To top it all off: when paying, the waiter asked if we wanted to leave a tip. When we politely said no, he reacted angrily — totally unprofessional. In short: poor service, rude staff, and a complete lack of hospitality. Once is more than enough.

Our experience on June 28th – unfortunately disappointing We visited the restaurant with my mother on June 28th. Since the restaurant wasn't very busy at the time, we sat down at a free table for four. Shortly afterward, an employee approached us and asked us to move to a table for two. When we politely pointed out that there were still plenty of free seats and we would like to stay there, the conversation was ended without further explanation. The employee said goodbye with "Have a nice evening" and left – he didn't serve us. Our visit was unfortunately disappointing overall. We would have preferred a more respectful and hospitable atmosphere.

Excellent pasta and meat dishes, and the cheese fondue is excellent. The downside was the wait to be served because they forgot about us 😁 Otherwise, the welcome was very pleasant, and to compensate us, they offered us free drinks.

We ended up at this restaurant rather spontaneously, as our first choice was already closed – unfortunately, a mistake. The food was bland, dry, and seemed carelessly prepared. Salt and pepper would have helped a lot. The service was also disappointing: A second order never arrived, the bill took a long time to arrive, and at the end, we were reminded quite bluntly about the tip – despite the service being very good. For that money, I would have been better off shopping at the market and cooking myself – it would have been tastier and more worthwhile. All in all, the visit was simply disappointing. I was honestly glad when we could leave. Once and never again.

Lovely restaurant, friendly staff and very good Italian food. The restaurant is in a lovely location on the main street in Lindau Island. Our waiter was from Italy and was very helpful and friendly. We had fresh pasta main courses, all of which were excellent. We will definitely return there again on our next visit to Lindau.

Each person received three scoops of ice cream at €2.80 per scoop. Half of the ice cream was liquid when it was brought to the table. The waitress's response: It's very warm today.

We placed a pickup order over the phone. Less than half an hour later, we were standing at the door—having driven in all the way from the lake—only to be told, quite dryly, "The kitchen's already closed." No information, no call, no "Sorry." Instead, just a shrug. What kind of service is that? Anyone who takes orders should also make sure they're prepared. But it didn't stop at a lack of a smile or a polite word: Over the course of our visit, we were repeatedly confronted with rude, cheeky replies and rude comments from the staff. Such behavior is absolutely unacceptable, especially when dealing with families and paying guests. You felt like you were being a nuisance and unwelcome – and that continued throughout your entire stay. The food tasted okay, but the portions were extremely small. Considering the high prices, the value for money is a complete disappointment. A visit to a restaurant should be a pleasant experience – unfortunately, this was the opposite. We definitely won't be back and cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Very nice mushroom risotto and Apfelstrudel, but more importantly the guy serving me seemed genuinely happy and excited to be working there, it made everything much nicer. They were all speaking Italian to each other and my server commented (happily!) on my Valentino Rossi cap, so it also seems authentic which isn't super common so that's good. Very enjoyable, I was only in Lindau for the night but if I ever go back I'll go there again.

Unfortunately, we can't give 0 stars. Extremely unfriendly staff, I've rarely experienced anything like that, and our ice cream had frozen water in it. Real Italian ice cream is something you'd expect to be delicious. This was far from it.

We were absolutely thrilled with this restaurant! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the staff is extremely friendly and attentive. The dishes were a dream – freshly prepared and delicious! We finished off our meal with an incredibly delicious strudel and a delicious coffee – simply perfect!

It's the end 🥹 We came here in October 2024 by chance and ordered a tagliata di Manzo. The best. Here we are back today, 7 months later, and it's still just as sublime. The best tagliata, period. Hats off to the chef and his team, always so cheerful.

We spontaneously stopped by for pizza while the weather was great. We'd happily return. It was delicious, and the staff accommodated our special requests. Excellent value for money. I got chatting to the manager and was spontaneously treated to an espresso, and my kids were treated to a scoop of ice cream. Wow, really nice, thank you very much.

We had reserved a table for 9 people and received a very friendly welcome. The waiters were very attentive and we didn't lack for anything. The food was very delicious. The pizza was delicious! We'll be back!

I've been a regular at Antonio's for years and am always impressed by the value for money. In the evening, after dinner, I enjoy a glass of wine at sunset and admire the old town. :)

We've been coming to da Capo for a long time and have always been satisfied. However, we were disappointed on our last visit: _ a completely disinterested waiter. _ our order took a long time to be taken, even though it was relatively quiet. _ the food wasn't served properly until the third attempt. _ we waited 30 minutes for a second Radler, but then we didn't want any more. _ the food was okay, the risotto wasn't up to Italian standards. The pasta was okay. _ unfriendly service. Too bad. I won't recommend it again.

We were at dacapo lindau for the first time today. The atmosphere is very nice and the service is very friendly. We really enjoyed the Tonno pizza, as did the delicious ice cream afterwards. We'd love to come back. Claudia (birthday) and Detlef.

No, no, no. The rudest service, hair in the food, wrong bill, wrong order and being told to leave while we were still eating - very low level of service.

The worst pizzeria I've ever been to. We ate spaghetti - it was children's portions. We weren't full. The service was subpar, you get the feeling that you are just a nuisance as a guest and that it is best to leave quickly. The worst thing was the toilets. Women's toilets on the 1st floor were closed, women should please go to the basement. There were two toilets there - one was completely dirty and the other was almost impossible to get into because the door was almost out of the frame. While washing my hands I discovered this fat cockroach 🪳. We complained to the bar and showed the photo, but there was no response.

We settled into here out of many options around, they were very kind and the food was fine. The salad was acceptable, the pizza was not good, the chicken was good. Nothing here blew us away. The ice creme stand attached to this place was truly the hit for many people and they enjoyed their sweets. I would think about seeing about other options for a sit down meal tho if you wanted too. Enjoy~

Unfortunately, I didn't have a good experience at this place. The service is terrible. We weren't greeted to choose a table, and we had to chase down a server several times. They didn't offer us a menu; we had to get our own. Some people who arrived after us were served first. The women's restroom door is broken, and a woman walked in without noticing me, which made me feel uncomfortable. Unfortunately, I don't recommend this place and wouldn't return, especially if you're hungry and have a child with you (which I was).
