Unfortunately, it's very disorganized. The food is good.

Definitely recommended, great food, and most importantly, dogs are welcome there too! And unfortunately, that's not a given everywhere.

There were four of us there and we initially wanted to sit outside. Since some wasps had this idea, we were kindly offered a table inside. The food was delicious, the service friendly, and the atmosphere cozy. We'll definitely be back.

A long-established, quaint Bergisches Land restaurant with a beautiful tree-lined beer garden, delicious regional and typical Bergisches Land dishes, homemade waffles and cakes, and very friendly service. Takeaway delivery is also available. During the current coronavirus pandemic, coffee to go, etc., is available at any time.

Nestled in a beautiful landscape, with a lovely beer garden, lies Haus Rüden. The menu is homely and traditional. Everything was delicious. The prices were absolutely reasonable. The drive there was also a visual experience.

We were there today as part of a bike tour. It was busy, the terrace was full, and the two of us spontaneously got a table, which we pushed 2 meters out of the blazing sun. The waitress immediately complained that we'd moved the table, and our order was split because one colleague only took one order and the other the other. They're not all dressed the same, so you never know who's going to do what. One of them forgot to order. In any case, the ordering process was slow, and the service wasn't very engaging or particularly attentive. We only received cutlery upon request, after the food was already on the table, and ordering drinks was also very slow. This was then topped off by the information that paying by card was best done inside. The waitress then sent us out again, only to take our money inside instead. I hadn't tipped in a long time. But the service was simply terrible. The food was good, the beer was tasty, but they need people who have experience in the restaurant industry, not these young guns.

On Saturday we went to Haus Rüden again. I had reserved a table, but it didn't work out. Okay, so I took another table. I have to say it was pretty busy. But I thought it took about 20 minutes for the waiter to bring the menu. Drinks came quickly. Then the food came too, but unfortunately only 3 of the 4. The 4th dish was somehow forgotten. Unfortunately, I have to say that as soon as the food was served you could see that the motto was "get out no matter what." We've always been very satisfied at Haus Rüden, but not this time. I think that needs to be said.

Beautiful location, but the restaurant is overrated. Four of us were there for coffee. The service was very slow, albeit friendly and helpful. It was relatively busy. The coffee in the Dröppelminna (drinking mint) wasn't warm, and the amount of bread and rusks was rather limited. The waffles were fresh and delicious. Overall, a meager price for €19.50 per person. It's a good starting point for a stroll along the Wupper, though. We wouldn't come back for coffee. Parking is difficult to poor. Not a problem by bike...

The restaurant is highly recommended. A cozy atmosphere both inside and out. We were there for the Bergisch coffee table. The staff was young, very friendly, and helpful. Sometimes things were forgotten, but they were immediately brought back with an apology.

The best thing about this restaurant is the walk home. We were here today for the first and last time. Service only comes when you call, the food is bland, very mediocre for the price, and doesn't match what you'd expect from the menu. The salad was only brought after two requests. Unfortunately, it wasn't particularly tasty. The service staff is inattentive and unqualified. The ambiance is mediocre. All in all, any average chip shop could do better. Waste of money.

Favorite beer garden with very good cuisine

It was our first time there. The service was very friendly, despite us repeatedly sending the food back to the kitchen to have the meat cooked again. We had asked for the meat to be cooked well, rather than rare. Perhaps the stovetop was faulty. The meat on the burger wasn't cooked all the way through, either.

It's actually a zero-star rating. But since that wouldn't be fair to the kitchen team, I'm giving it the stars above. If you want to experience truly bad, unfriendly, and sometimes rude service, go to Haus Rüden. The wait times are incredibly long before you're even noticed, and after ordering, you have to ask several times when your request (e.g., napkins and missing cutlery) will be met. You'll initially get a rude response. There's no connection with the guests, and no sign of the staff showing any interest in being friendly or even attentive. The beer garden is decorated with absolutely no love, no ambiance at all, and some of the furnishings are broken. The problem in such restaurants (this word, by the way, contains the words "guest" and "place," meaning a place where a guest should feel comfortable—that would be a topic suggestion for the next team meeting), especially here, is that there is so much passing trade in the form of day-trippers, hikers, and tourists that those in charge seem to care less about the external impact on the customers. New, unsuspecting guests arrive every day, so it's not a problem. Now my final conclusion—the food was okay, everything else was not. I've had my experience here and say—once and never again, and in my opinion, definitely not recommended.

Very tasty food, warm drinks (beer and water), dirty glasses with lipstick etc., dirty cutlery, disgusting toilets and bad service.

I don't know what happened, but the Bergisches Land flair has definitely disappeared. I had made a reservation for a Bergisches Land coffee table. I expected a reserved seat...with the words "look where you can find a seat," we were able to snag a spot outside in the shade after the tables were rearranged. "Bergisches Land coffee table" in the sun, hmm...I don't know. I wonder why I made a reservation. The order was also very slow, and the coffee table was very unloving...I've had much better. The products themselves were okay. There was clearly a lack of staff, and we only got cutlery after everything was on the table and the waffles had been brought. They were delicious, though. To finish off, there was a liqueur (also delicious), but does the waiter have to drink one with us...I don't know. We didn't invite or request him to do it. A lot needs to improve so that it goes back to what I was used to. With the Bergisches Land friendliness and service. It's a shame, we always enjoyed stopping here after a hike. Fingers crossed that things will improve. That's what my review was intended for.

I hosted the luncheon after my nephew's funeral on July 4, 2025. I had reserved for 18 people, but 28 showed up. The owner of Haus Rüden responded immediately and arranged for all the funeral guests to be seated at one table, as I had requested. All my guests were able to order à la carte. The food was served promptly. Despite the large number of guests, the service was attentive, friendly, and polite, and even accommodated special requests. The warm and courteous manner made this difficult day easier for me. My meal and that of the guests sitting around me was excellent. Everyone around me expressed their satisfaction and that the food was delicious. In retrospect, I am saddened to hear about a negative review from my group of guests, posted that same evening. As an elderly person without internet access, I had to ask one of my friends to show me how to do it. I was stunned by what I was doing. As a hostess and grieving aunt, this hit me hard. Personally, I often enjoy visiting Haus Rüden with friends and acquaintances, and I've always been extremely satisfied with the service and the quality of the food and drinks. Soon, I'll be back to enjoy the great service in the beautiful Bergisches Land setting with my best friend over coffee and my favorite dish, blueberry pancakes. Food was great, service miserable

We were there for dinner today. The food was of good quality and tasted good. Unfortunately, the waiter wasn't particularly polite. Rude manner and snarky replies. If we treated customers like that, we'd quickly go bankrupt. Either he wasn't in the mood for his job or he was having a bad day.

Haus Rüden is a restaurant near the Wupper along a popular hiking and cycling path. Accordingly, it is often very crowded as many people come there for a break. The blueberry pancakes and Bergisch waffles are real hits and are no longer an insider tip. The sauerbraten is also excellent. The beer garden is really big and yet it is difficult to get a table there when the weather is right. Because there were so many people, it was a bit difficult to get the waitress' attention, so the visit took a long time due to delayed ordering, eating and late payment. But the wait was rewarded with excellent food. However, I have to criticize one thing very much: Kölsch in a 0.4l glass?! It is well known that outdoor areas are served in 0.3l glasses, I know that, and I don't think it's good either, but 0.4l is really absurd. Even if the brewery offers these glasses, it is still a sin to use them. The fact that Kölsch is originally served in 0.2l sticks makes sense. At 20-30°C, the Kölsch goes stale faster than you can blink.

I'm thrilled! You sit comfortably in a relatively small but nice dining room and get a very good menu with many mountain delicacies. There is also a lot of home cooking on offer there What I particularly liked and tasted about the drinks was the 1 liter. Carafe with water from the Solingen dam, with lemon and herbs. Worth a recommendation. The food was great (liver cheese with fried egg and onions. The fried potatoes were tasty and crunchy. I would also like to mention the very, very friendly waiter. Haus Rüden really deserves my 5 stars and I will come back.

Six of us ordered the Bergisches Kaffeetafel (Bergisch Coffee Table). It wasn't great. We've had better coffee tables. It was uninspiring and fragrant. Not again.

I'm from Bonn and enjoyed a birthday with a Bergisch coffee table. I highly recommend everything from waffles, cinnamon rice, cherries, whipped cream, small cakes, and apple fritters. Savory dishes, cheese, ham, and more, as well as a bread basket with some of the typical Bergisch food. Haus Rüden is highly recommended!

The only good thing about it was just the point of view. The surroundings are really beautiful. However, the rest wouldn't have been worth a star. The service was miles away from friendliness, we had rarely experienced such a bad mood. Long waiting times despite a low number of guests and the order was not as requested. Although something specific was stated on the card, something completely different was brought. It's a shame, but for us it was the first and last time.

Enjoyed a sunny Friday afternoon very tasty and attractively decorated at reasonable prices. Now at the start of the season, investments are also being made in the outdoor facilities. It's perfect sitting outside, so you want to stop in and chat with a friend about God and the world.

Today on January 19th, 2025 we set off in the early afternoon to have a coffee at Haus Rüden and have dinner in the evening. Open according to the homepage! When they arrive at the Rüden, several people stand in front of a closed restaurant, including guests from out of town. People were generally pleased when it was stated in the display case that the company was closed until January 31, 2025. If you already have a homepage, you should update it too. This way you can save yourself a long journey to Rüden!!!

We had a Bergisch coffee table. As usual, this had sweet and savory components. The service is ok. We were there on a Saturday in December and we were the only guests for a while. Therefore the staff was attentive but also a little bored. Which was perhaps due to the fact that there was simply little to do. The location is very remote and can only be reached via narrow streets. You have the feeling that you are driving to the end of civilization.

It was recommended to us and we were already seated when we arrived. A young man in jeans and a T-shirt came and asked me, have you reserved a table? I said yes, for 5 people. The table offered was first cleared away. The food itself left a lot to be desired. The only positive thing was that they didn't charge my son for his food because he only ate a bite.

Unfortunately the food & drinks were really bad. My salad was brown/mushy in places and therefore anything but fresh and tasty. Of 5 fried feta balls, 2 were without feta filling. And this salad costs a whopping €17.90! The Radler was also disastrously tapped and im There were unidentifiable residues floating in the beer. The service was very nice but also extremely slow. Unfortunately, the group didn't feel too well after the meal. There are also no vegan options there! Unfortunately not recommended.

Sehr schöner , versteckter Biergarten in Unterrüden. Wir waren nach Jahren mal wieder dort. Der Betreiber scheint gewechselt zu haben. Inzwischen ist alles sauber mit Platten ausgelegt, schöne Terrassenschirme sind als Sonnenschutz aufgestellt worden. Die Bedienung war fix und freundlich. Auf der Speisekarte ist für jeden etwas dabei, auch vegetarisch. Wir hatten beide Schnitzel mit Beilagen in unterschiedlicher Ausführung, die in einer angemessenen Zeitspanne serviert wurden. Die Portionen waren angemessen, schön wäre etwas mehr Deko und Sättigungsbeilage. ZU den Pommes wurden Ketchup und Mayo gereicht. Die Getränke kühl, die Gläser sauber. Es wäre schön gewesen ein Platzset unter dem Teller zu haben. Parken ist auf dem eigenen Parkplatz vor dem Restaurant möglich. Wir kommen gerne nochmals wieder- wegen dem Pfannkuchen der am Nebentisch serviert wurde !!!

Nachdem wir längere Zeit nicht mehr im Haus Rüden waren, haben wir 14.08.2024 den Außenbereich besucht. Schon bei unserer Ankunft stellten wir fest, das dieser einen ungepflegten Eindruck machte. Neben Blättern lagen in den angrenzenden Hecken, Servietten Zigarettenstummel etc. Trotzdem bestellten wir 1 Landbier, dieses war kaum gekühlt, 1 Glas Grauburgunder wurde mit Eisstücken im Glas serviert. Die Kartoffelsuppe hatte nicht die uns bekannte Qualität, der Pfeffer-Schweinebraten mit Salat war nach Aussehen und Geschmack ein Fertiggericht aus der Dose. Die fehlenden Gewürze Salz und Pfeffer, hätte man verlangen müssen, das Esseen wäre sicher bei deren Benutzung, nicht besser geworden. Neben der bemängelten Sauberkeit des gesamten Außenbereichs, waren auch Tische und Sitzgelegenheiten teilweise in mangelhaften Zustand. Wir haben alles dies bei der Bezahlung dem Kellner mitgeteilt und darauf hingewiesen, das wir zukünftig auf weitere Besuche, verzichten würden.

After a Sunday excursion, we stopped for dinner at the “Haus Rüden” café-restaurant in Solingen. The staff was friendly and accommodating. In addition to the Bergisches Landbier, we had matjes with beans and fried potatoes with bacon, crepe with salmon and salad and a huge blueberry pancake for the little one. It was really tasty and the perfect end to our trip.

A nice shady place in the heat under parasols and plane trees. The food was excellent. Very good price-performance ratio. We had to be a little patient with the service. We would have had a few more drinks. But all in all it was a very nice evening on the idyllic Wupper.

We enjoyed a Bergische coffee table there with our old classmates on the occasion of our Gold Abitur, it couldn't have been better! We sat at a table in the garden, it was wonderfully pleasant there in the shade on this beautiful early summer day. The waffles were super tasty and so was everything else, everything was fresh and of high quality. The waitresses were all friendly, more than that, always up for a little joke... We felt very comfortable there! We can only recommend this restaurant as a destination!

We were there on a rather rainy day with a group of 9 people, so we sat inside. The interiors were cramped and gloomy. Too many tables in too little space, too little daylight and "shimmer lighting". The person sitting next to us constantly had to get up when one of our tables had to go to the toilet. The service staff was very friendly and really quick to process the order. We ate waffles with various side dishes and a pancake. Everything was very tasty and attractively prepared. My grandma had difficulty getting through the short distances with the walker because everything was very cluttered.
