We actually wanted to eat something, but even though we were given a seat! There was no service! 15 minutes long! Then we left again! Better to chat and neglect guests!

All in all, nice brunch. Good selection, but I would have liked other types of bread. But there is still something for everyone. Slight deduction: our table was under the stairs next to the children's play area, it wasn't nice, it was cramped and loud. Nice staff.

We went there for breakfast yesterday with friends from further away and they raved about it highly. Well... the initial enthusiasm quickly turned into a sad reality. I come from the bakery myself, the food that was served there was the cheapest of the cheapest, some of it wasn't properly chilled (fish) and also presented in a way that was more than carelessly prepared. We paid €20 per person for the buffet excluding drinks and we got old, baked rubber rolls and a scrambled egg that came from a tetra pack and was over-salted. We also had shredded pressed mozzarella and warm salmon. The only positive thing was the warm croissants, unfortunately they didn't rip it off. Half or 2/3 of the glass of our large latte macchiato went back, and the children's cocoa was also very unpleasantly sweet and half consisted of whipped cream. In total we spent 120€ for 4 people there, so you could have had a much better and cheaper breakfast somewhere else. We probably won't come back and won't recommend the buffet to others.

Bedienung war sehr freundlich und schnell aber das war es dann auch schon an positiven Dingen! Wir waren um 9:30Uhr dort also nur 30min nach Beginn. Ich kenne ALEX bereits aus anderen Städten und bei uns ist er immer ausgebucht! Aber das ALEX in Solingen war schon traurig! Das Buffet direkt an der Treppe sodass man mit den Schuhen eigentlich das Essen garnieren konnte. Es war unübersichtlich! Der Lachs hatte Farbe verloren und war ungekühlt. Auch die Butter war ungekühlt und ziemlich demoliert. Die Brötchen waren einfach alle auf einen Haufen, warme auf kalte gekippt. Sie hatten deutliche Frostschäden! Das Rühr-Ei war einfach eine Masse zum Scheiben abschneiden. Der Latte macchatio war einfach ungenießbar bitter trotz 3 x Zucker aus Verzweiflung! Der bacon war trockener als die Brötchen. Der Mozzarella war schon ne Weile draußen und hatte schon begonnen auszutrocknen. Mir war der Hunger deutlich vergangen und das für soviel Geld!

So, it was a nice stay and it was seriously furnished. The food was extravagant but I have one thing to complain about: my soft drink didn't have an average-sized lemon in it like others did, but a smaller-than-average lemon. (See photo) That's it from me for now Kind regards Mr_Salat

I haven't eaten so well in a long time! The food was very good. The waitresses were very friendly and overall there was a friendly atmosphere outside. Were very satisfied! Gladly again 😊

We had breakfast, the drink came quickly, that was it, we didn't even ask if we wanted any more drinks. Although our table was walked past several times and we made our presence known. The charge for water (0.25) was 3.80 euros, which I think is a bit exaggerated.

My bowl was very tasty, but for the price of 16.90 euros it was definitely very manageable. It was like a children's portion. You have to think about that.

The food is great there, but the service and hygiene in the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. Ordering and delivering the food is very quick, but as soon as you want to pay you literally have to beg to give them your money. We had to point out several times that we wanted to pay and sat at the table for over 30 minutes without anyone coming to settle the bill. It was only when we threatened to leave now that we had an appointment that someone came within a minute. There were still dead insects lying around under our table and those of a few others.

I ordered the falafel bowl from Alex. The plate was attractively presented and the portion was good. The ingredients were fresh and the bowl tasted delicious. It wasn't a culinary highlight, but it was definitely a solid and satisfying meal.

I went for brunch and overall it was very good. I would have found a few things nice, such as: lactose-free dairy products and it was a shame that the mirrors were already cold. Overall, you can't complain, it was a great morning.

The only drawback: the music is too loud. Staff very friendly. Delicious selection of healthy food and drinks. Even vegan dishes.

Today my wife and I had lunch at Alex with our little daughter. We ordered 1 x Coca Cola and 1 x blueberry shorle, 2 x fish with sweet patato and once grilled vegetables as a side dish. First of all, the drinks were very warm despite being iced. Then the food came. My wife discovered that the fish was half raw, but that was bad enough. Then I also noticed that my fish was raw and the sweet potatoes weren't well done either. The Mediterranean vegetables we also ordered were just roasted onions in a 150g bowl... when we asked, we got the answer, "yes, that's correct, we're sorry." At the end, when it came to the bill, we told the employee what we didn't like. His answer, "Yes, I noticed from the delivery that something was wrong with the food." I'll see if we can do something about it. He then came back and offered us a cappuccino or espresso as compensation at almost 30°C. So, with all my love, the food was a disaster for €13.90 per person and the vegetables at €4.50 are intolerable. That was the last time from our side.

Heute waren meine Frau und ich mit unserer kleinen Tochter im Alex zu Mittag . Wie haben 1 X Coca Cola und 1 X Heidelbeershorle 2 X Fisch mit Sweet Patato bestellt und einmal Gegrilltes Gemüse als beilage. Zu aller erst , waren die Getränke trotz Eis sehr warm. Dann kam auch das Essen. Meine Frau musste feststellen das der Fisch halb roh war naja war ja schon schlimm genug . Dann bemerkte ich ebenfalls das mein Fisch roh war und die Süßkartoffeln waren auch nicht gut durch . Das ebenfalls bestellte mediterrane Gemüse waren nur geröstete Zwiebeln so ein 150g Schälchen.. nun auf Nachfrage bekamen wir die Antwort ,, ja das ist korrekt so tut uns leid ''. Am Ende wo es zur Rechnung kam sagten wir dem MA was und nicht gefallen hat . Seine Antwort ,, Ja ich habe es schon an der Ausgabe gemerkt das was mit dem Essen nicht stimmt '' ich schaue mal ob wir da was machen können. Er kam dann wieder und bat uns als entschädigung bei fast 30 c° ein Cappuccino oder Espresso an . Also bei aller Liebe das Essen war eine Katastrophe für 13.90 € p.P und das Gemüse mit 4,50 € ist das nicht zu tolerieren. Das war von unserer Seite das letzte mal .

Great spot. Great place. The food LOOKED nice but we had a major lack of service so we don't know how it tastes. Would definitely not go there again. We booked a table, planned the day way in advance, looking forward to it for weeks and only managed to order drinks. That's where it ended. After that we were ignored for over an hour and had to try and flag down the waitress numerous times for any further service. Ultimately just gave up, went to pay and left. 🤷 Also saw other people that left before us.

After my companion and I were seated, the first assistant arrived within about 45 seconds and asked us what we would like to order, even though there is only one ticket per table for several people. After we both ordered an iced tea and an absolutely disgusting coffee, we realized that we would like to order food after we had orientated ourselves on the shared menu. The drinks then came after 2 more minutes. Of course, instead of lemon tea, peach ice tea came. After about 40 minutes of being ignored that we wanted to order food, an assistant came and took the order. 11 minutes later the ordered burger and salad arrived. The salad seemed to be okay, the burger was just ready to eat in a chip shop and the fries were still frozen on the inside. We weren't asked to order another drink until we had finished eating for about 10 minutes. Paid €54 and left…sorry Alex Solingen…that was different And I really hope that there isn't a copy and paste answer below like in the other reviews.

We discovered Alex in Solingen more by chance. But it turned out to be the perfect breakfast location! There is a very large buffet that really fulfills all breakfast wishes and a great atmosphere. I can only thoroughly recommend Alex Solingen.

We were there before a comedy event. The atmosphere is great, the service is very friendly and accommodating. And the food and drinks were very good. Great shop.

You can't complain about the selection, as there is a lot of food and drink on the menu. We ordered chicken schnitzel with mushrooms, fries and salad, as well as chicken schnitzel with wok vegetables and rice. Both dishes were OK, but unfortunately not anymore. The vegetables I mainly had were onions, some carrots and peppers. I completely missed the fresh coriander. The schnitzel and rice were OK, but left a layer of fat on the plate. It looked similar with the champion version. I would have expected better quality overall.

Die Fleisch - und Fischportionen bei den Bowls waren mit Max. 50 gr sehr überschaubar. Der Lachs wurde so zerpflückt , dass es nach mehr aussah. Die Portion war gerade mal so annehmbar.

We were at Alex yesterday with a group of 10 and were very disappointed. We reserved a table for 6 p.m. and immediately ordered drinks and food. Then it took over an hour until we had our dishes, one of which was a pasta fennel dish which was no longer there It was hot and the noodle was floating in an oily soup. The waiting staff didn't respond to our complaint. Unfortunately, we had to wait in vain for more drinks during the time we were there. What was particularly frustrating was that several neighboring tables who came after us had their dishes beforehand but we ordered the same thing...

Went there with family for brunch on a holiday. The food (buffet) was mediocre, the O juice was by far the worst I drank. Tasted like colored water. The food was always replenished, but for the price you can expect better quality.

It is a good restaurant, good cakes and good schnitzel, which unfortunately cannot be found on the children's menu. But good and friendly staff. The atmosphere is also good and I can only recommend the restaurant.

I'm excited. It was a spontaneous idea to go for brunch and we ended up there. Price performance more than top. Food was fresh and the selection was large. The staff was friendly and open-minded. Always my pleasure!

I am a bit disappointed. I went there for the first time 2 years ago and was thrilled. This afternoon we ate schnitzel, but unfortunately the schnitzel with the egg was just too dry. There was hardly any water coming out of the tap in the men's sanitary facilities.

Unfortunately, the male waiters are only interested in serving the young women. Sometimes I have to ask the waiter 5 times before the order is taken in an annoyed voice. Sometimes the waiters in question need between 30 to 40 minutes to bring me a bottled beer. The food and drink selection is OK to good, but you have a better chance of service if you ask the female waiter.

Hello, I used to enjoy going to Alex for brunch. In our country, many things are becoming more expensive, but unfortunately the quality is getting worse. Same in Alex. So that was our last visit. The offer was simply bad for the price. Fortunately, there are still alternatives. Still a shame.

Also wir waren am Samstag morgen noch einmal im Alex, und es hat sich wieder keiner um eine Bestellung aufzunehmen nach draußen bemüht 🤨. Mein Freund saß wieder mit unseren Hunden 20 Minuten draußen und hat gewartet. Die Dame am anderen Tisch war auch sehr unzufrieden und ist auch gegangen. Also wenn ihr keine Zeit für die Gäste habt oder euch der Weg nach draußen zu weit ist,sollte man draußen keine Sitzgelegenheiten aufstellen. Wir waren Stammgäste aber nun haben wir uns entschieden unser Geld wo anders auszugeben, wo wir auch bedient werden und willkommen sind. Schade dass man so mit den Gästen umgeht.

Als wir gefragt wurden was wir denn gerne essen wollen haben wir gesagt,dass wir noch etwas überlegen möchten.In der nächsten halben Stunde kam niemand mehr und wir wurden einfach ignoriert von allen Kellnern.Als wir dann soweit waren und bestellt haben wurde in einem sehr aggressiven Ton mit uns geredet.Als wir noch einen Wunsch hatten ist die Bedienung einfach weggegangen ohne uns nochmal zuzuhören.

The cup of café au lait is dirty! Of course I asked the staff about it and they offered me a new coffee, which I declined. My companion had a burger where you have to buy fries as an extra. €4.70 for just a handful of fries! I found that very outrageous. Price performance as well as the offer have decreased extremely. I think that's a real shame!!!! I wouldn't eat here again. To linger and have a drink, gladly again. Ambiance is very cozy!

Let's start sweetly. The blueberry iced tea is probably one of the best drinks that pleased my palate. The balsamic dressing makes the manageable side salad look forward to more, but what's coming?! Steak and Fries was my order of choice, but despite low expectations, I can now say that the salad was not the side dish or appetizer, but the highlight. The fries were pleasant and served as a good antidote to the steak, which is less of a main course and more of the main topic of this review. Medium rare? A foreign word, steak knife? Defective goods, seasoning? The herb butter has to save it... Fortunately, the fact that burgers are served with ready-made patties is not kept a secret, but others have certainly already reported on this. You can condescend to drink there, but don't expect food that's worth the price.

We reserved a table at Alex in Solingen today and ate there. The brunch buffet was very nicely prepared and plentiful. In my opinion, the offering was better than in Düsseldorf, but the atmosphere was a bit older and "old-fashioned". The service was very attentive and courteous. All in all, a nice morning with good food and good service. We'd love to come back.

Da ich laktoseintolerant bin,gehe ich gerne hier ins Alex,denn ich kann risikofrei meinen Capuccino genießen. Außerdem finde ich es immer lustig,meinen Namen überall zu lesen. 🙈 Einzig die Preise für einen Kaffee und einen Cappuccino ( annähernd 9€ zsm. ) sind ziemlich hoch. Finde ich auch nicht gerechtfertigt,denn es sind weder große Tassen noch etwas absolut Außergewöhnliches. Man kann schön sitzen,keine Frage,das Personal ist auch sehr nett. Die Toiletten stinken leider immer bis in den Sitzbereich in der oberen Etage. Habe das auch schon dort angeregt,dass man mal nachschaut. Könnten mal renoviert werden. Dennoch: Für Ab und Zu gerne mal ins ALEX😊

Sehr zum empfehlen. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist sehr lecker mit viel Auswahl auch der Preis stimmt.

Alex (in Solingen) halt. Es dauerte zwar wie immer etwas und man bringt besser etwas Zeit mit. Jedoch die gewählten Speisen waren alle frisch und lecker. Das Service Personal war wie immer sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.

Umfangreiches Frühstücksbuffet, mit guter Auswahl. Sehr freundliche Bedienung und Kinderfreundlich.

Das Damen WC hat auch schon bessere Zeiten gesehen! Dreckiger Boden, WC Brillen eklig, sehr unangenehmer Geruch, der schon im oberen Gastraum auffällt (Jauche Grube!).

Gehe immer gerne hin. Klare Empfehlung.

Im ALEX wurden alle Erwartungen erfüllt, dass Essen hat geschmeckt und alles war frisch und lecker zubereitet. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich und das Ambiente stimmig.

Wir hatten heute unsere Weihnachtsfeier im Alex. Der Service war wirklich sehr freundlich, leider war unser Tisch nicht besonders sauber, es lagen noch Krümel von den Gästen vor uns auf dem Tisch. Das Essen war ok, allerdings stimmt das Preisleistungsverhältnis nicht unbedingt, und die Geräuschkulisse war einfach zu laut. Der Service war hervorragend, sehr freundliches Personal.

Wenn mann 20 Minuten bei der Kälte draußen wartet und dann rein geht und bescheid sagt das mann schon 20 minuten wartet und dann zu hören bekommt vom Kellner ja schön ist das eine Frechheit. 6 Bedingungen und drin nicht viel los. Aber wenn die Kellner sich lieber an der Theke unterhalten gehen wir ab jetzt wo anders hin. Wo wir auch bedient werden.

Das Frühstück heute Morgen hatte gute Hotel Qualität. War bis gestern in einem Haus der best Western Plus Gruppe. Der Kaffee, im übrigen hochpreisig, war mit so viel Bitterstoffen angereichert, dass er an eine Körperverletzung reichte. Meine Ehefrau und auch meine Tochter haben ihn nicht austrinken können. Das ganze mag ich nicht wiederholen .

Obwohl es Samstag Mittag sehr voll war, wurden wir sehr freundlich begrüßt und super bedient. Die Speisekarte ist sehr schön gestaltet und für jeden Geschmack ist etwas dabei. Von Eis bis Cocktails. Vegetarisch und vegan sind gekennzeichnet. Super fanden wir, dass Beilagen dazu gewählt werden können, so dass man je nach Hunger über die Größe selbst entscheiden kann. Es war sehr sehr lecker, der Salat knackig und die Rösti nicht in Fett gebadet. Der Burger super. Krönung war die selbstgemachte Limo mit Zitrone und Ingwer. Alleine dafür lohnt sich ein Besuch. Da wir nur eine bestellt hatten, bekamen wir sogar 2 Strohhalme😍. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

War heute vormittag zum Frühstück dort und wurde sehr gut und zuvorkommend bedient. Gerne komme ich wieder dorthin

Der Brunch ist einfach nur zu empfehlen. Auch die anderen Gerichte und Getränke sind immer wieder lecker...wobei man dort jetzt kein Sterneessen erwarten sollte. Der Service hat sich in den letzten Jahren sehr positiv entwickelt...man wird in der Regel schnell und sehr freundlich bedient. Die Außenplätze sind zum Teil auch bei schlechtem/kalten Wetter zu nutzen, da überdacht, Heizpilze und Decken vorhanden sind.

Solingen Zentrum ist nicht gerade mit aufregender Gastronomie gesegnet, davon profitiert ALEX. Gemütlich sieht anders aus, alles eher laut und hektisch Aber der Service ist Superflotte, und das Essen (Burger etc.) von guter Qualität und super lecker. Wir waren sonntags zum brunchen da, leider einen Platz am Fenster bekommen wo der Tisch direkt vor einer Wand stand und es sehr ungemütlich war. Noch mehr ungemütlich würde es als es voller würde und man neben unserem Tisch noch einen weiteren Tisch hinstellen, so das man kaum noch zwischen unseren und dem andern Tisch durch kam. Ansonsten war alles bestens. Das Essen war anständig, sauber und ordentlich drapiert

Ich kann die negativen Rezensionen nicht nachvollziehen. Die Bedienung ist einfach immer TOP. Klar dauert es bei hohem Besuch etwas länger aber dafür sind die Mädels und Jungs immer super freundlich! Die neue Karte und vor allem warme Speisen gefallen mir persönlich ebenfalls super. Daher 5 Sterne!

Getränke und Essen sind in Ordnung. Service ist unter aller sau. Man bestellt, bekommt seine Getränke und wird dann Konsequent ignoriert. Wartezeit zwischen 20-40min sind halt schon abartig

Beim betreten wollte der Kellner uns schon unten in eine Ecke platzieren. Wir wollten aber oben sitzen und haben uns dann durchgesetzt. Der Flammkuchen war nicht so gut. Bei dem ohne Speck fehlte der Rest und sonderlich gut war der andere auch nicht. War nicht heiß genug und sehr dünn. Haben es gesagt und einen espresso bekommen. Ausserdem war die akustik auch nicht besonders gut, sehr laut war es. Die Kellnerin war aber nett und freundlich.

Beim Frühstücksbuffet war ständig nix da. Es wurde immer wieder was nachgefüllt, aber leider viel zu langsam.

Der Laden ist leider viel zu laut, was eine Unterhaltung unmöglich macht. Die Preise für Getränke und Essen sind für die kleinen Mengen zu hoch. Man hat das Gefühl, dass der Kellner ganz normal Bestellungen aufnimmt und das Essen zubereitet, während man für praktisch nichts sehr lange warten muss. All im allen nicht zu empfehlen.
