A nice restaurant and accommodation with still quite reasonable prices. The rooms are a bit dated, but I find that charming and fitting for the surroundings. The restaurant and accommodation are beautiful and, above all, quiet. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful. There's also a great selection of cakes. The meals are also good and plentiful. The restaurant is busy in the evenings, so reservations are recommended. However, the service is very practical and sometimes takes some getting used to. All in all, though, it's recommended. 👍

70 people registered will certainly throw the staff into disarray. Waiting times, unfriendliness, and poor service are to be expected.

I stayed at the Angermaier for 5 days and was very satisfied! The room was very nice, new, and clean. I felt more than comfortable there and in the beautiful surroundings. Countless hiking and biking trails await right outside the door. The food there was varied, delicious, and regionally inspired. The staff was very friendly, and the value for money was excellent! I'd love to come back!

A dream vacation in the mountains! We spent five days with the whole family in a beautifully renovated, wonderfully clean, and very cozy apartment with a fantastic view from the balcony. The whole family felt completely at home. Everyone was super nice to us, especially to the children. The food was always delicious, both for breakfast and dinner. The children's menu even offers healthy and child-friendly dishes; the kids didn't want to eat anywhere else. We're already looking forward to our next vacation in this wonderful part of the world and will definitely stay and eat at the Angermaier again because of the excellent value for money. Thank you very much!

Yes, we've been coming here for many years and have always been satisfied. The last time was in August 2025. Four people had coffee and cake. All the cakes were good to very good. There's plenty of parking and, in the summer, shady spots under old trees. We sat in the garden, and there's plenty of space between us and our neighbors.

We've enjoyed coming here for dinner and lingering for years. The very friendly service and the truly delicious food make us eager to drive down into the valley. And the view at sunset from the beer garden... that's vacation.

We were warmly welcomed with two dogs. Be sure to order the Kaiserschmarrn in advance (by 1:45 PM at the latest, 1:30 PM is better)! Good food, fantastic selection of cakes. Wonderful location!

Cafe Restaurant Angermaier is a beautiful spot to while away a lazy afternoon. Its location in Rottach is perfect to escape the many tourists and offers at the same time a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. On many occasions, one can see hang gliders land in short proximity of this restaurant. The food and service is typically Bavarian, which provides for a relaxed atmosphere. I really like this place and surely recommend it to others.

From the salad to the steak to the cake for dessert, everything was perfect. Very friendly service, great food. In any case a recommendation.

Service was ok, not super warm and not very child-friendly, but a fantastic location and very tasty Kaiserschmarrn!

I have eaten here several times and can absolutely recommend the restaurant. The menu is classic Bavarian with one or two creative touches. Mostly regional ingredients are used, so on the first page of the menu it says where each ingredient comes from, which I think is great. Service was always friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant, especially on the terrace in the evening. In my opinion, the Cordon Bleu and the two spreads as starters are particularly recommended.

Nice location, good cake, very rude, really very rude service. I've been coming here every now and then for decades, usually for coffee, sometimes in the evening. Again and again (not always) you experience snotty, inflexible and extremely rude female waitresses. So rude that it really stands out. It can happen once, but again and again... I know it's hard to get good staff these days, but that's bad for business. It's a shame because the food and location are good.

Schöne Location, guter Kuchen, sehr unhöfliche, wirklich sehr unhöfliche Bedienungen. Ich komme schon seit Jahrzenten immer mal wieder hierher, meist zum Kaffee, manchmal abends. Immer wieder (nicht immer) erlebt man hier pampige, unflexible und äußerst unhöfliche weibliche Bedienungen. So unhöflich, dass es wirklich auffällt. Kann ja einmal vorkommen, aber immer wieder… Ich weiß, dass es heutzutage schwer ist, gutes Personal zu bekommen, aber das ist schon geschäftsschädigend. Schade drum, weil Essen und Location sind gut.

My husband and I are very angry!! We drove out of Munich specifically to eat your excellent Kaiserschmarren. At 1 a.m., without looking at the menu, we immediately ordered the Kaiserschmarren and the drinks, which came soon. After an hour I asked and found that your waitress had forgotten to order it. It wasn't that full, she should have seen that we didn't have anything yet!!! At least she didn't make us pay for the drinks. We would have preferred the Kaiserschmarren!!!

Great pitch for campers. Approximately 6 parking spaces available. Cost: 15€/night. The restaurant's toilets can be used from 7:15 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Bread service available. Very nice staff. Quiet location.

Dichter Nebel am Tegernsee - um so schöner das gemütliche Vertrautsein im Angermaier . Fürs Mittagessen war’s zeitlich zu spät , wobei die Küche immer lockt und super schmeckt . Haferl Kaffee und gleich 2 Stücke vom großen Kuchenbüffet , kleinen Plausch mit der Chefin , gutgelaunte Mitgäste und der Sonntagnachmittag war perfekt .

Nachmittags ist der Angermaier sowieso eine Institution, aber diesmal waren wir zu spät dran, also auf zum Abendessen! Das Tartar war top, hübsch angerichtet und gut und reichlich! Danach der Kaiserschmarren war eine Offenbarung. So gut! Habe ich schon seit Jahren nicht mehr so fein gegessen! Krass dagegen der Espresso, schmeckte wie der3. Aufguss. Da stimmt was nicht an der Einstellung der Maschine. Personal sehr freundlich und schnell, aber der scharfe Blick der Chefin ist auch spürbar…

Very unfriendly service, you couldn't get any Kaiserschmarrn 20 minutes before 2 p.m.: the kitchen closes at 2 p.m.! After all, you could have pre-ordered online. And in a very harsh and unfriendly tone! A smooth "six"

Der Kuchen war sehr lecker, die Servicekraft war allerdings so unfreundlich und schlecht gelaunt, dass sie mir die Zeit auf der Terrasse und den Appetit auf den Kuchen vermiest hat. Für mich unbegreiflich wie man sich als Servicekraft so aufführen kann. Ich habe es aber nicht persönlich genommen, sie war zu allen Gästen herablassend und unfreundlich. Schade.

A very beautifully located inn a little away from Lake Tegernsee with very tasty specialties that are served in a friendly and quick manner. The only drawback is the snack menu, which means that main courses can only be served from 6 p.m.

Wonderful end to a bike tour. Sitting nicely with a view with coffee and cake, do you need more? N/a! And the weather stone on the tree confirmed the beautiful weather 😂

Were there twice this summer. Nice garden, great view. Service tried hard, unfortunately not convincingly friendly, rather stilted. You have to pay an extra 2 euros for the plate, which is a bit cheeky. White sausages in a beer mug also take some getting used to. Conclusion: It's actually better to be there without guests who just want to eat or drink a little something. You can feel this.

Very nice restaurant and very, very nice beer garden!! Food was very very good!! The dishes are original Bavarian, modern and vegetarians also have a good selection.

The starters and main courses were excellent. The service was very minimal and necessary from a guest point of view, colleagues for decorative things were a bit more important than the guests. You should be there for your guests a little more and not just do your duty dryly.

Nice Bavarian restaurant with very good food and a great view and garden. Unfortunately the staff is quite unfriendly, inattentive, slow and not at all fond of children. We waited over an hour for food without any apology.

Update summer 2024: I was here for the second time now. And I felt very comfortable again. This time too we had a very comfortable, clean room. As always, the host, Ms. Zacherl, was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was, like last year, excellent! Info for hikers without a car: from the town of Rottach-Egern you can walk comfortably for about 40 minutes to the inn, always along the small river. Pleasant to walk after a long train journey (if you carry a backpack). Summer 2023: Very pleasant. We stayed here before and after our hut tour. Very uncomplicated. Cozy rooms, very traditional, like the entire inn. Very good breakfast buffet. We were allowed to leave our car on the premises during our hut tour. Good menu in the restaurant, great value for money, but I've eaten Kaiserschmarren much better elsewhere.

A really beautifully located restaurant away from the hustle and bustle of Lake Tegernsee. Excellent cakes are served in front of a beautiful mountain panorama. But what has kept us coming back for years is Josef's first-class service. A man of expertise. Hats off 👍🏻

Classic restaurant in the region. Prices are rather high for the food. Asparagus was very firm to the bite and the very small Maibock medallion was unfortunately not a highlight. But that may be a matter of taste. Otherwise we were very happy with the food and service.

We are currently having a wonderful time in this restaurant and the holiday apartment. Even though we arrived very close, we can still order to our heart's content. The food is fantastic, every dish is a delight! The ambience is great and the view in the middle of nature is an absolute dream. The apartment is also first class: super clean, plenty of towels and everything you need. We came with three children, two of them adults, for a hiking trip and plan to stay here for two nights. The first impression is simply bombastic! We can only recommend this wonderful experience and give it a full five stars!

Mein Besuch im Restaurant Angermaier war ein Genuss für die Sinne! Die Roulade mit Gemüse und Kartoffelstampf war perfekt zubereitet und unglaublich schmackhaft. Der Kaiserschmarren danach war himmlisch und die ideale süße Note zum Abschluss des Mahls. Die Flasche Lugana war eine ausgezeichnete Begleitung und rundete das kulinarische Erlebnis ab. Der Service war freundlich und aufmerksam, und die Atmosphäre im Restaurant war gemütlich und einladend. Ich kann das Restaurant Angermaier uneingeschränkt empfehlen und freue mich bereits auf meinen nächsten Besuch!

My visit to the Angermaier Restaurant was a pleasure for the senses! The roulade with vegetables and mashed potatoes was perfectly prepared and incredibly tasty. The Kaiserschmarren afterwards was heavenly and the ideal sweet note to end the meal. The bottle of Lugana was an excellent accompaniment and rounded off the culinary experience. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy and inviting. I can fully recommend the Angermaier restaurant and am already looking forward to my next visit!

Great location in the middle of meadows. Restaurant offers above-average cuisine with not only traditional Bavarian-style dishes. There are also a number of cake delicacies at coffee time. The service here is attentive and the prices for food here And drinks are fair. A trip here is worth it, either for hiking or for a stop

We had two dishes. Once the straw pig and once the roebuck with asparagus. The pork was really tasty. The taste of the Bock was also very tasty, but the portion was a joke. When we asked, we were told that the price for the Bock was very high and therefore the price for the main course was reasonable. But since I'm a hunter myself, I can't imagine this. If you couldn't have put two pieces on the plate, it was like a piece of sirloin, nothing more. Then I'd rather take it off the menu! The service is top as is the cuisine, only the game thing is a joke!!!! Well, everyone should make up their own minds. Definitely come back.

We went here to eat some delicious cake after our hike. The service, the ambience and the view are simply fantastic. We would be happy to come back next time we visit Tegernsee.

Views of mountains are a dream, cake too. I've known this for 30 years. Stays and is great.

No matter what time of year you come to Angermaier, it is always beautiful, no matter in winter at -10 degrees wrapped in blankets or whenever. It fits at any time. The food is very, very tasty and the cake is great. My personal favorite is the apricot cake. I can sit in.

Very good Bavarian cuisine. The roast pork had a crispy crust and tender meat and the dumplings were also very tasty. The poppy seed cake afterwards was juicy and one of the best I've had.

Seit Jahrzehnten einfach immer konstant gut - zu jeder Jahreszeit und Uhrzeit. Kinder gerne gesehen. Küche top! Kuchenbuffet sensationell.

Schöne Location. Grosse "Terrasse"/Biergarten mit Blick auf den Wallberg. Durchaus freundliches Personal. Grosses, leckeres Kuchenangebot. Warme Speisen (Kalbsbraten, Lamm-Pulled-Burger und Fleischpflanzerl) waren leider geschmacklich ungewohnt unterdurchschnittlich. Wiener Schnitzel perfekt, aber das ist keine Kunst.

Immer, wenn wir in Rottach-Egern Urlaub machen, gehört das Restaurant Angermeier zu unserem Lieblingsrestaurant. Hier gibt's hervorragendes Essen, sehr freundliches Service und ein wunderschönes,gemütliches Ambiente. Dieses Haus ist sehr empfehlenswert.

Ruhige Lage mit schöner sonniger Aussicht Terrasse, super Kuchen, und restliche Essen auch gut bayrisch.

Sehr pampige Bedienung! Sie kam nach 20 Min. an unseren Tisch und fragte was wir wollen. Ich antwortete, wir wissen ja noch gar nicht was es gibt. Da rollte Sie mit den Augen und antwortete extrem genervt "ja was schon, Kaffee, Kuchen und Brotzeit. Uns verschlug es echt die Sprache. Blöd nur, dass wir geblieben sind. Ihre Laune wurde nich besser. Unserer Nachbarin ging es ebenso, die verließ sofort die Lacation. Daumen nach unten... Nie wieder ! Die sollte den Beruf wechseln.

Hatte dort Kaffe Abendessen und Übernachtung. Super freundlicher Service. Mein Koffer wurde mir aufs Zimmer getragen. Ruhiges Einzelzimmer, sehr ansprechende Einrichtung.

Super schöner Biergarten, hervorragender Service! Die Küche bietet vor allem regionale Spezialitäten, und zwar auf einem qualitativ sehr hohem Niveau!

Unser Besuch in diesem Restaurant war eher durchwachsen. Wir waren mit der ganzen Familie dort. Lage Top. Die Bedienungen waren Fix und sehr freundlich. Das Essen bis auf das Schnitzel (völlig versalzen) gut. Das kann passieren und wäre nicht der Rede wert. Leider hat unser Sohn eine billige Gartenlampe kaputt gemacht. Höchstwahrscheinlich hätte man diese auch Reparieren können. Die Chefin kam darauf hin und meinte wir müssen diese bezahlen. Der Ton, naja. Der Preis wäre angebliche 20€! Haben wir dann auch bezahlt. Die Art der Kommunikation nicht ok. Die Lampe ist auch dort geblieben. Somit Win für das Restaurant.

Service und Essen waren sehr gut. Gerne wieder.
