Bring patience. Takes time until the order is taken and food arrives. The rest is brilliant, food is really good, nice deco, clean.

We had our Christmas party at the riding school today. A wonderful buffet with various appetizers, duck on buttered bread, tender sirloin cooked to perfection, and truffled potato gratin. Delicious apple crumble; unfortunately, one zabaglione thickened in the warming dish. The wine service could use some improvement, as more wine ended up on the table and clothes than in the glass. Overall, a successful buffet.

I was hired to perform with Mariachi Express at a wedding at Café Reitschule Munich, and the service was wonderful. Afterwards, I decided to stay for lunch and was impressed by the professionalism of the staff and the quality of the food.

I went there yesterday to celebrate Halloween, and unfortunately, the unfriendly staff outside ruined my whole evening. The way they treated guests was truly disappointing; you felt more like a nuisance than a welcome guest. It's a shame, because I was really looking forward to the evening. Anyone working in the hospitality industry should enjoy interacting with people, but that clearly wasn't the case here.

Singles party... Apparently, they think singles have too much money here. 12 euros!!!!! A glass of wine. Unbelievable. And the 15 euro entry fee was 16 euros too much for the DJ.

The service was quite slow, food is OK. Prices are high but its a central area so OK.

Avoid. We waited 30 minutes or more because they forgot our table order? Or lost it? How does that work? One drink would be fine, but the WHOLE order?

Guests dining alone are obviously not welcome there. You're ignored, not even asked if you'd like another coffee. And as if that weren't obvious enough, the empty chair at the table is demonstratively removed without asking – a subtle but unmistakable way of making you feel out of place.

We booked brunch on Sunday and were absolutely thrilled. The selection was very large, plentiful, and delicious. There was even an oyster station. Any missing dishes were immediately replenished and served again, and the table service was always on hand and very friendly. The service was very courteous and friendly. Highly recommended!

Wonderful, the terrace overlooking the English Garden is great.

Brunch on Sunday, September 21, 2025. We were very surprised by the quality and quantity of dishes. There's absolutely nothing to complain about. I've never had oysters at a brunch before. They were very good, and the hot dishes were also very good. All drinks are included, and a bottle of sparkling wine is already chilled at the table. The service is very fast and very friendly. We'll definitely be back, this time with more people. The value for money is still very good for Munich. We'd go back anytime.

When we visited this restaurant, we were initially very rudely turned away on the grounds that there were no tables available. However, it soon became clear that tables were available. A friendlier and more honest approach to seating allocation is urgently needed here.

No more horses, but a rugby hall

Arrogant idiots cheekily assign you a table and chairs – even though their oh-so-great restaurant was completely empty. I left. I hope many more do the same and the place goes bankrupt! Here's to reading in the tabloids soon: "Cult restaurant closes" – because of the internet, minimum wage, and other nonsense – LOL

Let's get down to business. I've been working in the restaurant industry for 42 years myself - I've seen and experienced a lot, but the fact that they charge €9.00 for an iced coffee (one scoop of vanilla ice cream, coffee, and a bit of whipped cream) (iced coffee is only available temporarily without a price tag) is pretty shocking. The value of the goods is around €0.50-€0.60. If I add in the incidentals, I get a maximum of €2.80-€3.00. Mountain lover - that's what I call abysmal!

Unfortunately, I have to give it 2 stars because smoking is allowed anywhere on the terrace. Unfortunately, as a non-smoker you end up sitting surrounded by smoke.

The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant. The espresso tastes good, but could be a bit more aromatic and served in a smaller espresso cup. The shakshuka was delicious, even if not quite the traditional version. Just one small remark: One member of staff looked at me a bit strangely because I was wearing sportswear—otherwise, the service was really nice. Overall, a lovely restaurant that I'd happily recommend, even if the prices are a bit high.

Fine dining, at least judging by the prices. The food was okay, but lacked the wow factor. The staff was very friendly and attentive! You can enjoy a glass of wine on the terrace. It really needs cleaning; chewing gum and broken glass under your shoes aren't so nice.

A truly wonderful place to linger. We went to the Reitschule for brunch today, and it was a fantastic experience from the very beginning. Very friendly and attentive waiters. The food selection was very varied and delicious. We enjoyed the glorious weather on the terrace with a touch of South Sea flair! The head waiter, Niko, who took our check at the end, is a truly friendly, humorous, and hardworking young man who you can tell was made for the job. All in all, a successful Sunday that we'll repeat as soon as possible. Thanks to everyone involved! 😉

The Sunday brunch was good, but for €59 per person, it wasn't anything special. I expected much more in terms of both the food and the service quality!

A bit overpriced, but a very nice place to sit. More classy than cozy. Everyone has to decide for themselves, though; we prefer beer gardens and less fancy places.

We went to Café Reitschule for breakfast and, to be honest, had hoped for a bit more. Unfortunately, the breakfast was rather basic and, in our opinion, didn't really live up to the price... It tasted okay, but it wasn't exactly a highlight. The service was friendly, but unfortunately a bit inattentive. We had to get our own menus, and even a bowl of water for our dog required our own intervention. They were trying hard, but somehow not entirely focused, even though the place wasn't even full. Overall: Nice location, but both the service and the breakfast could have used more attention to detail, especially given the price.

Prompt, attentive, and very friendly service, fine food, and even a bread basket with butter as a snack. Unfortunately, the interior is a bit dated, and everything seems a bit dingy. Instead of the horse ring, the view today is of a tennis court.

We made reservations for brunch. Everything was a bit chaotic. I don't think the staff was trained; they seemed like students or something similar. The food itself was nicely presented, and the selection was good. The desserts were extremely sweet (especially the Bircher muesli and the chocolate mousse). The hot food that was served later wasn't particularly tasty. The fish was extremely dry, the pasta was overcooked and tasted of almost nothing. However, I would have preferred a slightly smaller selection with better flavor.

A huge thank you to the waiters and the manager for their patience and understanding. I had accidentally ordered a pinsa with meat and the waiter thought I was vegan and replaced it with a vegan pinsa. When I asked for the Burrata pinsa instead, they were kind enough to then take back the vegan pinsa and offer my preferred one. Nor did they charge me extra. And they did all of this without getting irritated or impatient. I was impressed with their eagerness to take care of their customers. Lovely people.

The best restaurant in Munich! The food is excellent. Many different dishes, each professionally prepared and always to the same standard. The risotto was the most delicious thing I've ever eaten! The service is wonderful. The waiters recognize you every time and are friendly. Very sociable – but not intrusive. The atmosphere is great during the week, except that it gets a bit busy on weekends, but that's normal. In short: 10 out of 10 points and see you next time!

Very good food (with the exception of the vegan burger). The service (by a "new" young lady) was unfortunately abysmal this time. All of her colleagues noticed this, and they tried to compensate as best they could. Unfortunately, it was almost impossible to compensate for the sheer chaos and lack of friendliness, so the afternoon remained a disappointment nonetheless. Instead of an apologetic gesture (they could have at least offered a free drink or something similar, as befits an establishment of this price range), there was a more than outrageous demand at the end as to where the tip was. Despite all the leniency and goodwill, this was at the very latest when a line had been crossed, even for us otherwise very patient guests. Needless to say, we also missed our next appointment, as we waited almost 30 minutes for the opportunity to pay. We look forward to visiting the riding school again as soon as the service standards have returned to at least a mediocre level.

Sunday morning in Munich. What better way to kick off the day than with a good breakfast? That was the plan – and we ended up here, ordering one classic and one Bavarian breakfast. Alongside came a small coffee and a large bottle of water. Let’s start with the Bavarian plate: it was… meh. The white sausages were surprisingly bland – lacking that savory punch you’d expect in a city like Munich. They could’ve used a touch more salt and a whole lot more depth. Even the pretzel felt like it had either been reheated too early in the morning or forgotten from the night before. No crunch, no soul. The classic breakfast platter had a decent selection of cold cuts, but nothing that made you want to grab your phone for a pic. Honestly, in Munich I’d expect a few slices of cold 'Leberkäse' to round it out. And for the first time ever, we didn’t finish the Obatzda. It leaned way too heavy on the cheese side and lacked that signature balance of paprika and spice. Also – is it too much to ask for a slice of cucumber or tomato? A couple red onion rings on the Obatzda wouldn’t hurt either. Service? Let’s say it didn’t exactly rise with the sun. Asking for a second bread basket turned into a patience exercise. And when you drop 50 euros (yes, including a rather humble tip) on breakfast and feel like the experience didn’t even scratch your expectations – you start to wonder. Bonus heartbreak: discovering that the 'Reithalle' (riding hall) has now been replaced by some trendy sport concept. The soul of the place? Definitely missing in action. Maybe start with coaching the staff – when the two blonde ladies at the front desk are chilling on the lobby sofa instead of keeping things running smoothly, something’s clearly off. Plenty of room for improvement.

Café Reitschule is an absolute must-do in Munich and highly recommended – not only as a café but also as a top restaurant in Munich. Whether for brunch, lunch, or dinner, it's the perfect place to go.

The breakfast's price-performance ratio is abysmal. The bland acai bowl, for a hefty €19, contains a few fruits with yogurt and desiccated coconut and is comparable to a child's portion. The Eggs Benedict burger is like dry brioche, lacking in flavor. A full 0.75 liters of water costs €8.90! Three waiters can't keep up with six occupied tables in the forecourt and only respond after repeated requests.

We've been there a few times now for the all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch. The food is really good. There's a wide selection, and the drinks are also well-stocked. However, the service is rather mediocre. Some of the dishes weren't clean, and the waiters, while very friendly, weren't particularly attentive. What bothered me most was that the outdoor seating is very nice in the shade, but on the sand. And the sand is littered with trash (cigarette butts, bills, etc.).

The food sounds tempting and looks good, but the taste is mediocre at best. If you sit on the terrace in the summer, you'll be bombarded with smoke from all sides. It's not so bad, though, because the food tastes bland anyway.

The dessert platter we ordered was disappointing—portions were very small, and the taste wasn’t great. It felt like pre-made or store-bought items, lacking in both freshness and quality. While the staff were polite overall, we felt some pressure to order a main course, which made the experience a bit uncomfortable. In my opinion, the pricing doesn't match the quality or quantity of what’s served. I found the dessert offering underwhelming and overpriced

We went there for Sunday brunch and it was really good. Despite the amount of food, the quality was excellent and they were constantly refilling it. Plus, the drinks included in the price was amazing! I highly recommend it! Our waitress was also super attentive and friendly! The only criticism I could have is that it was incredibly busy, but it was Pentecost, and that's nice for the owners.

A very nice location, especially in good weather. Unfortunately, the service was very poor, especially for such an upscale restaurant. Even simple things like providing cutlery or enough water glasses were lacking. The food was rather average, good but nothing special.

I was just there with some friends for a birthday brunch. We each ordered food and drinks and we had a small cake from home ( a size of 2 cupcakes) and asked for extra plates to share the cake and the chef wanted to charge 1.50€ for each additional plate coz the cake is not theirs.. So many years in Germany i never experience this so never again.

Reitschule is an elite athlete who is past their prime age. There was a time I went with friends to Reitschule for dinner cocktails and fun. It’s now turned into a quiet ghost of itself…the quality of the kitchen is embarrassing. And the kind staff can only apologize. Sad. Much like a lame horse, perhaps it’s time to retire the horse…it just does run anymore.

The restaurant is beautiful, the service is great, but unfortunately I had the worst shakshuka ever. They basically just put two hard-boiled eggs in tomato sauce and the plain sauce tasted like nothing. I couldn’t give a feedback on the same moment, because I was celebrating Mother’s Day with the family and I didn’t want to make a big thing out of it!!! But maybe they shouldn't offer shakshuka on the menu if they don't know how to make it.

Wir waren als Gruppe angemeldet. Es dauerte eine halbe Stunde, bis wenigstens Mineralwasser auf dem Tisch stand. Die Aperitifs ließen nochmals eine halbe Stunde auf sich warten - und nein, der Laden war noch nicht voll um die Zeit. Dass es bei einer Gruppe eine Weile dauert, bis die à la carte-Bestellung auf dem Tisch landet, ist mir klar. Aber wir warteten wieder überdurchschnittlich lange. Um die Weinkarte musste ich mehrfach bitten. Getränke und Vorspeisen wurden erst auf mehrfache Bitte abgeräumt. Das Essen hat niemanden vom Hocker gehauen. Das Rindercarpaccio schmeckte nur dank der knapp bemessenen Trüffelmayonnaise nach etwas, der Blumenkohl (18€ für ein paar Röschen und 4 kleine Falafel - Frechheit) war auch eher fade. Die Hauptspeisen sehr überschaubar, aber geschmacklich unter dem was man erwarten darf. Alles in allem eine sehr enttäuschende Erfahrung. Danke, aber nein Danke.

Very disappointing brunch – far too expensive for the quality The 2 stars only go to the nice girl who served us. She was very nice to us despite the very chaotic conditions. But: For 59 euros I expect a lot more. The food wasn't worth the price. The staff was far too short, even though the place was full, so we had to wait forever for our drink orders, sometimes over an hour. In other words, the included drinks make no sense. When paying at the checkout (not at the waitress) people almost intrusively asked for a tip, which was extremely unpleasant. And as if all that wasn't enough, you have to pay extra to use the toilet. Overall, a disappointing experience that we will not repeat.

Beautiful, decadent Schwabinger Café by the English Garden in a neoclassical building from the 1920s. The prices are reasonable. We were served very friendly.

I was recently at Café Reitschule and felt completely at home. The terrace with a view of the English Garden is simply great, the atmosphere is relaxed and stylish. My cappuccino was excellent and the staff was friendly and attentive. A good place to escape from everyday life and enjoy a little time out - I'd love to come back!

Tische im Innenraum waren als lange Tafeln eingedeckt, wie für eine Hochzeit, schon mal sehr fragwürdig... Terrasse war schön, konnten auch draußen sitzen, wer zuerst kommt mahlt zuerst. Das kalte Buffett war eigentlich sehr gut, schöne gute Auswahl, mit Graved Lachs, verschiedene kleine Salate, Käse. Wurst, alles da. Brot und Gebäckauswahl war auf der Terrasse aufgebaut, sowie Kuchen, Sahnetortenstücke, Tiramisu, allerdings ungekühlt im freien, Ostersonntag war es sehr warm.... Als das warme "Mittagessen" kam, wurden alle anderen Sachen nicht mehr nachgefüllt, Kuchen, Sahnetorten blieb alles ungekühlt weiterhin stehen. Das warme Essen wurde in den typischen Wannen angerichtet, die aber allerdings ohne Deckel stundenlang dastanden, in der Sonne!!!! Dementsprechend sah das Essen dann auch aus, eklig, angetrocknet, einfach unappetitlich... Zum Service, es gab auf der Terrasse 2 junge, wohl ungelernte Mädels, die zwar sehr bemüht waren aber hoffnungslos überfordert . Kaffee und kalte Getränke wurden serviert, hat seeeehr lange gedauert. Alles in allem eine absolute Nullnummer, für 59.- € pro Nase kann man wirklich viel mehr erwarten. Absolute Enttäuschung und absolut NICHT zu empfehlen!

A disappointing Easter experience - never again Cafe Reitschule We had already made a reservation for the Easter brunch on Easter Sunday for five people in February - with great anticipation and a lot of planning in advance. My family traveled specifically from the Bavarian Forest, around 300 km away, to spend this special day together at the Café Reitschule. The shock was even greater when we arrived on time on Easter Sunday and were told out of the blue by reception that there was no reservation for us. Unfortunately, what followed was not a professional way of dealing with an obvious internal error, but rather a prime example of arrogant and customer-distant communication: the employee at reception was condescending and unfriendly from the start. Despite my clear email confirmation, which clearly documented our brunch reservation for five people, we were told in an arrogant tone that we probably didn't understand what the email said. We were made to feel as if we couldn't read or think logically. Such derogatory behavior towards guests who were looking forward to a special day is absolutely unacceptable. Not a hint of insight, no regret, no attempt to accommodate us in any way - no alternative table, no solution, not even an apology. Instead we were simply sent away. One gets the impression that people were simply overbooked here and that the mistake was being made on the backs of the guests - as quietly as possible and with as little effort as possible. The result: We were left without a place on Easter Sunday, when everything was of course fully booked. The disappointment was huge. A day that should have been nice turned into an example of how you should never treat paying guests. Conclusion: The arrogance and unprofessionalism of the staff in the Cafe Reitschule that day was shocking. Mistakes can happen - but how you deal with them is crucial. Not only was the mistake not acknowledged, but we were even blamed. One thing is certain for us: never again.

Obwohl nicht viel los war ( Ostern) und Samstag sonniger nachmittag . Waren die Kellner gestresst und genervt. Wir wollten bestellen , ich konnte noch nicht mal zu Ende sprechen, da sagte man mir ich soll schneller überlegen da er noch andere Gäste zu bedienen hat . Fand ich total unverschämt. Kaffe hatte ich ehrlich gesagt auch bessere . Für Münchner Verhältnisse ist es hier wirklich überteuert. Lohnt sich meiner Meinung nach nicht. Lieber in der Biergarten am Chinesischen Turm . Hier werden wir bestimmt nicht mal hingehen . Schade .

We had brunch for the first time today and we were very satisfied. The brunch selection was very appropriate for our different taste buds and the service with Nico was simply wonderful. Very nice and competent contact person for a great leisure experience. Thank you Café Reitschule. 10 points for Nico, feel free to ask about him.

Cappuccino €5.80 of which €0.70 for oat milk. It makes me wonder whether the coffee or the oat milk is gold-plated. We sat on the terrace. The service is underground. We sat there for probably an hour with empty drinks because no one came. Neither for clearing away nor for a new order. If you have such prices on your menu, I expect corresponding service. Unfortunately it is not available here. The same thing on the desserts, there were empty plates/glasses everywhere. It's a shame because the location itself is actually quite nice.

Staff was definitely working at maximum level! It was a beautiful sunny day the terrace was full. As soon as we were able to order the food was delivered quickly! We were so hungry that I forgot to take a picture 🙃 presentation and flavor 10/10

The restaurant offers very good food and a good selection. The service is a bit sleepy; we always had to actively get in touch to get a card, order and pay. It was btw. only 50% attended. The ambience is great, the prices correspond to the high Munich standard, but the locations are worth it.

If you don't know the riding school, you should go. As much a part of studying as the lecture hall.

Die Zeiten, in denen man mitten in München bei einem Kaffee den Reitbetrieb beobachten konnte, sind wohl endgültig passé. Das Ambiente ist aber ansonsten unverändert, insbesondere im Sommer von der Terrasse auf den Englischen Garten schauen zu können, hat seinen besonderen Charme. Cappuccino und Kuchen sind von hervorragender Qualität, bieten aber aufgrund des mittlerweile ambitionierten Preisniveaus keine angemessene Preis-/Leistungsrelation mehr, auch wenn der Service aufmerksam und freundlich ist.

We always enjoy coming here. Excellent food in an upscale ambience in a relaxed atmosphere with wonderful care from friendly, cheerful people (I mean the staff, of course, but I wanted to emphasize that people meet people here.)

Food & service bad, atmosphere good. Café Reitschule is really cozy. But I've never had such bad Egg Benedict, the sauce was very watery and the mini portion was small. Similar with Shakshuka. It's a real shame, the staff isn't very attentive either.

Lots of sun, service zero We got one thing above all else here: sun. Service, on the other hand? None. Despite the manageable number of guests, we were consistently ignored by the waitresses. After more than 30 minutes in the 'waiting and hoping' category, we decided on a cafe with service. At least the weather was great - but the cafe can't do anything about that.

White festival in the riding school. A classic in the Max Emanuel Brewery in the past but well taken over, great music on 2 levels, food and drink at fair Munich prices. All in all a great evening and 5 stars

After an eternity, we went back to the riding school for an aperitif before continuing on to dinner. The ambience has its own, almost timeless, charm. Used the champagne happy hour and ordered something small to snack on (olives). Friendly staff and nice service rounded off the good impression. Gladly again sometime.

Café Reitschule is such a great spot! The atmosphere is really nice and cozy, perfect for catching up with friends or just enjoying a good meal. They have a big variety of food and drinks, so there’s definitely something for everyone. Plus, the service was super friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely a place I’d recommend and would love to visit again.

Relax yourself. Falls into the category: Saleswoman in a luxury store checks you out, but can't shop in the store herself. To the owners: take care.

Very good food after a stressful appointment.

Die Reservierung wurde im à la carte Bereich platziert, da es anscheinend niemanden klar war das wir, wenn wir Brunch Buffet reservieren auch dort sitzen möchte, geschweigeden Brunch Buffet haben wollen. Das wir das Brunch Buffet reservieren wurde in drei Telefonaten nach der online Reservierung besprochen und es wurde detalierte information zu Unverträglichkeiten hinterlegt. ( Diese machen im à la carte absolut keinen Sinn, hinterlegt zu werden) Aufgrund des wirklich langen Weges war wir nur zweimal am Buffet um uns etwas zu essen zu holen. Die anderen male war das gewünschte essen jedesmal leer... Bis es aufgefüllt wurde hat es zu lange gedauert und bis wir wieder da waren war es bereits wieder leer. Uns wurde zu fünft zwar nur 4 mal das Buffet berechnet... jedoch ist das in relation zu dem was wir essen konnten sehr spärlich - selbst für ein Buffet...

Es wurde mit Austern beworben, allerdings gab es schon um 11 Uhr keine mehr. Ansonsten ist das Buffet eher durchschnittlich und nicht das Geld wert. Der Raum war extrem mit Tuschen zugestellt und es war sehr laut.

Confusion about the placement even though we had reserved, beer poured well below the calibration mark, a €2 piece of egg shell in the food, instead of crispy bacon there was limp ham. In the end we were charged €10 too much, unfortunately we only discovered this when we got home. The toilets smell unpleasant and have cobwebs on the ceilings, and the dimmed lights also hide the dirt. We're not coming anymore. 1 star for the hungover waiter.

Insgesamt alles top. Leider hatten wir ein Vitello Tonnato bestellt, das so den Namen nicht verdient hat. Es war ein Haufen Schinken ohne etwas dazu 🙈

Wir waren schon öfter hier zum Brunchen und finden das Preis-Leistungsangebot - in der Regel - sehr gut (alkoholische Getränke und Speisen für 59€), allerdings waren wir sehr enttäuscht darüber, dass es an einem Festtagsbrunch weder Lachs noch Austern gab, da mit diesen geworden wird und dies einer der Gründe ist, warum wir hier zum Brunchen kommen. Das restliche Essen vom Buffet war gut aber auch nichts besonderes, solche Speisen hätten wir auch günstiger wo anders bekommen können. Werbt bitte nicht mit Austern, wenn sie nicht zur Verfügung stehen - hierüber waren nicht nur wir enttäuscht, sowie wie wir mitbekommen haben.

Good service. The waiter was friendly and polite, which we appreciated. The salmon was tasty, and the place has a nice atmosphere. Overall, a pleasant experience.
