The location itself was beautiful, especially the view inside of the riding arena. But that's about it for the positive. One waitress was very unfriendly and ignored explicit placement requests despite asking, the other waitress could hardly remember anything. The waiting times (even for drinks) were really long and the food was unfortunately below average and completely overpriced. No recommendation from me...

Food great, service unfortunately subpar The food was really flawless, wonderfully tasty, big compliments to the kitchen! There was nothing to criticize, whether meat or vegetarian, the selection was very good and everything tasted great. Unfortunately, the service makes the experience look bad again. The staff was only semi-motivated (if you walk up to them to ask for the toilet, the staff turns away). Used, dirty dishes and empty bottles were repeatedly not covered (despite requests!), and unfortunately the order was taken incorrectly (well, mistakes happen, but correcting the order was also slow). When drinks were empty, we had to draw the attention of guests to us, and when we left the restaurant we didn't say goodbye, even though we walked right past the waiter who was checking the cash register. Unfortunately, there is a huge lack of appropriate training for staff here! And given the prices, you would expect at least a little higher quality service...

Vanaf de straat een gezellig terras, de mooie parasols, dat sprak ons aan. Maar de verrassing zit achter de voordeur! Wat een geweldig terras aan de achterkant en zeer sfeervol café/restaurant, met uitzicht op de binnenbak. Het was tijd voor koffie mit Torte. Wat een assortiment en allemaal heerlijk van smaak. Dit restaurant is de moeite waard!

Immaculate environment, impeccable service, not very elaborate food

The service is absolutely substandard and untrained. Very unfriendly too. The visit was an absolute disappointment for the prestige of the location. The food was ok but cold.

It’s nice to sit on the terrace and they have lots of choice for breakfast/brunch, meanwhile it’s a good place for afternoon tea and cake too. Was so excited and forget to take many photos. Perhaps next time 😅

Brunch - waste of money in my opinion. It resembled 3 star hotel breakfast. Poor food quality! Highly disappointed and would not recommend! For that price you can get better brunch but somewhere else!

The place and food are great, however, the service is absolutely horrible! We were “welcomed” by a woman that was extremely impolite and had this look of disgust that she has to sit us down. They did not have a table ready for us despite us having a reservation made in advance. The person that served us was chewing gum annoyingly and made faces whenever we wanted to order something. Overall I do not recommend it or would visit it again.

Despite the restaurants not being particularly full, the staff gave the impression that they were being personally insulted by their own presence. Unfortunately, annoyed reactions and snappy answers to questions ruin the experience, even though the food itself is excellent. Especially in this price range, next time it's better to go to a store where you don't feel so unwelcome.

The food in the cafe was completely overrated and disappointing. We came for brunch - the egg benedict was undercooked, the egg white was translucent. The sauce in the egg benedict tasted bland. The baked beans in the English breakfast was dry, it seemed like it was sitting out on a warm pot for hours. Service was partially good in the beginning but partially poor at the end when we gave feedback about the food. We were told off that translucent, watery egg whites are the way Egg Benedict should be done. The other dishes we ordered (pancake and the scrambled eggs) were average. It was a pity as the atmosphere of the cafe was nice.

Could be a nice location if it weren't for the extremely loud and annoying village disco music. We quickly lost our appetite.

This venue is generally very good and we book here via our company a lot. This time the waiter never brought our second beverage order, and the chicken on the Caesar Salad was basically cold, so offering one star less. Next time will surely be excellent again!

Once again completely overpriced for mediocre food. The atmosphere is nice and the service was very good, but that doesn't justify the very high prices. What a shame, I definitely won't go there again.

The terrace is very nice. The service nice. Unfortunately there was no drinking straw at the ice cream cafe and the Bellini for €19.50 was served rather carelessly. A pity.

Eigentlich eine sehr schöne Location mit toller Terrasse im Grünen. Allerdings wird der Eindruck doch sehr getrübt von einem selbst für Münchner Verhältnisse schwachen Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Kleine Portionen zu gesalzenen Preisen, Qualität ok aber mehr auch nicht. Und für dieses Preisniveau bekam man früher mal ausgebildetes Personal. Sehr schade!

Food was so-so but service was absolutely terrible! We were there as a large group for my birthday and the waiter treated us absolutely rudely from the start. Being yelled at, forgetting orders even after asking multiple times, etc. Given the horrendous prices for average food, I at least expect to be treated politely! It's very, very rare for me to not tip, but this was definitely one of those times. Very unfortunate.

We went to Café Reitschule for breakfast on Saturday morning. We were handed the menus, ordered and ate. So far so good. When we went to pay we were charged higher prices than what was on the menu we received. We were then told that these were the “old” prices and that they had a new menu. We took a photo of the menu as a souvenir and showed it to the restaurant manager. However, he saw the mistake on our part and argued that we would show him an old photo... Such an allegation, even though the photo on the iPhone was demonstrably less than an hour old, in a restaurant like this is a real shame. Boris, the restaurant manager, didn't know how to deal with the situation either and acted annoyed, with no emotional intelligence and any lack of customer service - more than unprofessional and very sad for what was actually a very nice location.

The restaurant is listed as “barrier-free” by “Falstaff” among restaurants in Munich. Unfortunately, the "barrier-free" toilet is used as a storage room. This room could only be used after removing a ladder and other things. It probably doesn't get cleaned regularly! Very unhygienic.

After the registry office, we had a delicious lunch with our loved ones on the terrace. Everyone enjoyed it very much and the ambience and service were also excellent. Thank you!!!

Schnitzel, Pasta und Oktopus waren gut. Der Caesar Salat mit einem stolzen Preis von 16,50 € für Grünsalat, Kirschtomaten, Parmesanhobel - ohne Hähnchen - sollte dann zumindest mit perfektem Dressing serviert werden, der Salat damit durchgemischt sein. In unserem Fall wurden zwei Salate lediglich mit dünnen Dressing-Spritzern bedacht. Wir orderten Dressing nach, das war dann in Ordnung. Der Kartoffel-Gratin erreichte uns noch in leicht rohem Zustand, kann mal passieren. Wenn ein Glas Wein (0,2) allerdings um die 12 Euro kostet, erwarte ich einen besonderen Tropfen - das war nicht der Fall. Zu loben ist der männliche Service, der für unser Wohl gesorgt hat. Auch die Desserts - Crème Brulée und Cheescake - hinterließen pures Glück auf der Zunge .

A big disappointment. The staff is very unfriendly and doesn't even want to help with the menu.

We came here for something refreshing to drink after our visit to the English Garden. Accordingly, our order was very simple, was delivered quickly and served its purpose. Staff was cheerful and friendly. The ambience was also very nice on the sunny terrace. Gladly again!

Really very nice café with a beautiful view from the summer terrace. However, prices are really expensive, even by Munich standards for small portions and small coffee cups etc.

The four of us decided at short notice to meet for brunch at Café Reitschule and it was a real hit... from the service to the food, I have to give it a clear A, really recommended.

Zunächst das Positive zur Rechtfertigung der 2 Sterne .. das Ambiente im Außenbereich ist wirklich seh nett. Wir hatten einen Veggieburger für 25,50 Euro der qualitativ nichtmal mit einem Veggieburger aus Fastfoodrestaurants mithalten kann. Auch die Bedienung war lieblos und eher arrogant. Wie empfehler Alternativen wie z.B. Dallmayr.

I always love going to brunch on Sundays. When the sun shines, you can enjoy a great view from the terrace. Prices acceptable. A large selection of cakes and my recommendation is Spicy Bowl. A little tip: ask for Ben at the service desk. He is super nice and always has the best tips up his sleeve when you can't decide what you want to eat.

This is truly a wonderful find for a delightful brunch in Munich. This is one of our go to places on our visits to Munich. We were sat in the patio area this time and it was absolutely beautiful. Service was attentive and very welcoming. Menu has so many options including Vegan which is perfect for our daughter. If you are looking for a great Sunday brunch- we highly recommend Cafe Reitschule!

The terrace is unbeatable, but unfortunately the food is very disappointing.

We booked a table for brunch. We waited 45 minutes to order. Unfortunately the food did not make up for the waiting time. The eggs Benedict looked more like a bad sandwich with spinach and rucola and the eggs were not poached but a slimy mess. In the omelets we ordered the avocado was fried along with the ham and eggs. Too expensive as well for the bad quality of food..The waiters were also very stressed due to lack of people in service...In general not recommended at least brunch..

Excellent service, the food is reasonable priced, well presented and of good quality.

We went here for a late morning brunch. The environment is very welcoming, sophisticated and quite elegant. The external part is really pleasant, with wooden seats and tables with benches and comfortable cushions. The choice on the menu is wide, both in terms of food and drinks (the coffee and cappuccino are very good). The French toast and the dishes with avocado are excellent, the yoghurts with granola are also good. Service a little cold. High prices, normal for the area/neighborhood in which it is located, after all we are still in Munich.

It was an absolute disappointment. Weeks in advance we had made reservations over the phone for the €59 brunch on the holiday for 10 people. I specifically asked on the phone whether brunch was taking place. This was confirmed to me several times. By the way, the website also says that the brunch takes place on public holidays. When we arrived, we had to wait at least 30 minutes for staff and after we said we had reserved for brunch there was no apology but rather a “you can complain”. After that, things continued just as disastrously. Service was very unfriendly, an order was forgotten. There was no apology there either.

Wir waren,zum Jahrestag dort. Hatten Wochen,vorher reserviert,und dann leider trotzdem 20 Minuten warten. Unser Service war tadellose, jedoch war ein Ober sichtlich überfordert, da er laufend den passenden Tisch für seine Bestellung suchte. Ausserdem hatten wir zwei gleiche Klassik Bestellungen aufgegeben, jedoch unterschiedliche Waren auf dem Teller gehabt. Wir haben uns trotzdem sehr wohl und gut bedient gefühlt

Brunch gebucht. Organisation an Getränken wird als mangelhaft bewertet. Auf Kaffee eine Dreiviertelstunde gewartet. Fehlende Gläser für Wasser und Wein - erst auf Nachfrage erhalten. Frühstück sehr zu empfehlen, Nachtisch/Desserts große Auswahl. Mittag sehr übersichtlich. Essen war lauwarm bis kalt.

I have been several times at Café Reitschule. The location is really nice but food is only average. The prices are too expensive for what you get.

After almost an hour we were asked to pay and leave, the food was simply bad and extremely overpriced, various requests were ignored/forgotten. Definitely not again.

The best part was the location, things went downhill from there. Within a few years, a very good restaurant has become a place for bachelor parties, avocado toast influencers and tourist rip-offs. Unfortunately, the quality of the food is really bad and the prices are very high. Eggs Benedict simply omits the ham, which you can then graciously add for 3 euros. Despite a “normal” reservation for breakfast, we were initially directed to the basement because we were told that we had booked a brunch (Robinson Club atmosphere) for €60 per person, which was definitely not true. After a long discussion we got our reserved table, after 55 minutes we were asked to pay and leave. Afterwards we went home for breakfast with an almost empty stomach. Also beautiful.

The waiter forgot half of our order, and we needed to ask several times to bring items that we ordered in the first place. The food was not tasty and it was overpriced.

An all time Munich classic. Great seating and in season all bouncing horses in front of you when indoor seated. Excellent service, choice and quality. VERY attentive waiters, chapeau !

Nice cafe, very good dessert and coffee. I would recommend dark ganash dessert with strawberry. The only thing I did not like was that we could sit only at the small tables in the center (without reservation), where from both sides all the time people and waiters were walking. I saw on some tables reservation plates, but also there were empty tables without any sign of reservation, but we still could not occupy them to drink coffee. And the empty tables remained empty all the 40 minutes we were there.

This was a lucky fine when walking near English Garden. They were able to take our party of 6 without a reservation. Service was excellent. Menu offered varied choices. Food came in reasonable time AND was excellent. Well worth a stop. I would recommend highly.

Had a great company event there. Beautiful ambience. Service, not the fastest, but the greeting at the entrance was also nice. For everyone who likes it a little more exclusive.

Great location right next to the English Garden. Unusual: inside you can watch riding lessons through the window. People who belong to the Schwabing district have been meeting here for decades. One of the most unusual cafes in Munich. The cake selection is fantastic. Unfortunately, the apricot tart tasted old and was dry.

We reserved a table for 15 people at the brunch for a celebration. Despite paying a deposit (credit card), everything was overbooked and we couldn't sit inside. Service staff complete disaster, they tried to save the situation but yes. Luckily the weather cooperated that day and we were able to sit outside. The fact that the restaurant makes itself so unnecessarily important and bloated and that you even reserve with a credit card on file and don't get your actual seat is an absolute no-go. The brunch itself is delicious, and especially with the consumption of wine - Prosecco, it's definitely worth it.

The location is simply great and the food is great too. The owner seems to me to be a bit notoriously annoyed and generally the mood of the staff is rather low. A pity.

Service was a disaster, except for the initial order, they were completely ignored for 3 hours and orders were forgotten. Then set off myself. They don't seem to need to sell drinks and food. The staff should be involved in the personal sales, maybe it works better that way... However, the coffee and cake were good.

Sehr enttäuschender Café Reitschule-Besuch ... die Angabe "Geburtstag" bei der Reservierung hat niemanden interessiert, na gut, aber dafür war ein Tisch in der hintersten Ecke reserviert :( Das Essen kam sehr schnell, schneller als die Getränke, allerdings war sowohl die Zusammenstellung (Frühstück) als auch die Qualität wirklich sehr enttäuschend und für den Preis inakzeptabel. Die Bedienung war schnell und freundlich, deswegen auch zwei statt nur einem Punkt.

A beautiful restaurant with a nostalgic view of the old riding school, memories of youth. The meal at 1 p.m., a bland, sticky risotto with a small piece of tough cod on it, without the announced parmesan, for €25 was miserable, unloving and overpriced. Likewise the mushroom salad, some bland mushrooms with a bunch of lamb's lettuce on top, that's it. Bottle of mineral water included: over €50. That's cheeky and mean. My tip: eat somewhere else and sit down to chat.

The food was very good. Unfortunately, we had to wait a long time for service and first had to ask the table to be cleaned of the previous person's contamination. Otherwise friendly. Nice atmosphere.

Als Homie immer wieder hier, wird seit Jahrzehnten leider kontinuierlich schlechter. Kellner ungelernt und extrem unfreundlich. Speisen zu teuer und belanglos, genauso Kuchen. Getränke ok, aber auch preislich unangemessen. Einrichtung ansprechend und gemütlich, Blick auf die Reitschule sehr nett. Ambiente durch das Personal beeinträchtigt,

Eine Flasche Wasser kostet 8€. Finger weg davon wenn der Kellner das vorschlägt. Der Rest ist ok.

Unfortunately the service was a complete disaster. We sat outside on the terrace and waited a long time for a waiter. After we said what we wanted to order, he was surprised and asked what we wanted and where it was. He didn't even know the menu and spoke to us in a very bored manner. After we asked why it was taking so long, we said that all the employees worked late yesterday and were very exhausted. Very weak for a store like this. When a family at the next table paid and left, the waiter said loudly: I hope no one else comes. Unfortunately very disappointed with this cafe/restaurant!

Nice atmosphere and excellent options for breakfast

The Café Reitschule used to be one of my favorite cafés, but the last few visits were a misery. When we waited at the marked spot to ask for a seat, the entire staff ignored us, didn't even notice us or look at us. When we looked for a place ourselves after 10 minutes, we were shouted at as to why we couldn't wait. The waiter's second sentence was that he had so much to do and was all alone. We were then ignored again, so we just left speechless again yesterday. Another time, 15 minutes before closing time, our plates were snatched away while we were eating. I was really ashamed to take guests there. An extra €5 tip was also typed into the card machine, the mood in the café was miserable. I honestly find it sad that such a beautiful and iconic café is ruined by poor service. I won't come anymore.

Das Personal schien komplett überfordert zu sein! So kenne ich das Café Reitschule nicht. Ich bin seit über 30 Jahren immer wieder Gast…

At first we were put in a corner, but when our friends came, we were given a brighter place. The food is not cheap, but my kiwi avocado bowl is very good. The service was a bit inattentive at times, but overall a good breakfast restaurant with a mixed crowd.

Terrasse war ansprechend. Leider war der Service komplett überfordert. Allein um die Karte zu bekommen haben wir eine halbe Stunde gewartet, bei der Bestellung selbst gab es auch Verwechslungen. Am Ende wurde uns wortlos die Rechnung hingelegt mit dem Kommentar dass jetzt nicht mehr bedient wird. Als wir dann getrennt zahlen wollten hat das zu großem Unmut geführt. Ein Danke fürs Trinkgeld (was nicht ansatzweise gerechtfertigt war) gab‘s auch nicht. Ich mag das Café grundsätzlich sehr gerne. Das Interieur Ambiente und das Essen sind wirklich toll aber bei den Preisen erwarte ich einen guten Service und das war definitiv nicht der Fall. Sehr schade.

The quality of the food does not justify the very high prices: the rolls (presumably frozen goods) were tiny and not (all) fresh. At most, half a tomato was used in the vegan scrambled eggs, for an additional charge of €3.50. The bread basket came with butter, even though it was supposed to be margarine. And no great effort was made to prepare the food; the €20 Benedict burger was on a few bland rocket leaves.
