Café Reitschule in München

We always enjoy coming here. Excellent food in an upscale setting, yet still in a relaxed atmosphere, with wonderful service from friendly, cheerful people (I'm referring to the staff, of course, but I wanted to emphasize that this is a place where people meet people).

Lots of sun, service zero We got one thing above all else here: sun. Service, on the other hand? None. Despite the manageable number of guests, we were consistently ignored by the waitresses. After more than 30 minutes in the 'waiting and hoping' category, we decided on a cafe with service. At least the weather was great - but the cafe can't do anything about that.

Food & service bad, atmosphere good. Café Reitschule is really cozy. But I've never had such bad Egg Benedict, the sauce was very watery and the mini portion was small. Similar with Shakshuka. It's a real shame, the staff isn't very attentive either.

I actually like it a lot. It’s an institution in Munich.

White festival in the riding school. A classic in the Max Emanuel Brewery in the past but well taken over, great music on 2 levels, food and drink at fair Munich prices. All in all a great evening and 5 stars

For breakfast on Sunday. Upscale clientele, quite expensive... Price-performance isn't quite right...

After an eternity, we went back to the riding school for an aperitif before continuing on to dinner. The ambience has its own, almost timeless, charm. Used the champagne happy hour and ordered something small to snack on (olives). Friendly staff and nice service rounded off the good impression. Gladly again sometime.

Café Reitschule is such a great spot! The atmosphere is really nice and cozy, perfect for catching up with friends or just enjoying a good meal. They have a big variety of food and drinks, so there’s definitely something for everyone. Plus, the service was super friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely a place I’d recommend and would love to visit again.

I love the location very much and the food is also completely OK. The arrogance the “head waiter” displays every time he visits is unbelievable. Act like he owns the place. Bro, you're employed here. Relax yourself. Falls into the category: Saleswoman in a luxury store checks you out, but can't shop in the store herself. To the owners: take care.

Die Reservierung wurde im à la carte Bereich platziert, da es anscheinend niemanden klar war das wir, wenn wir Brunch Buffet reservieren auch dort sitzen möchte, geschweigeden Brunch Buffet haben wollen. Das wir das Brunch Buffet reservieren wurde in drei Telefonaten nach der online Reservierung besprochen und es wurde detalierte information zu Unverträglichkeiten hinterlegt. ( Diese machen im à la carte absolut keinen Sinn, hinterlegt zu werden) Aufgrund des wirklich langen Weges war wir nur zweimal am Buffet um uns etwas zu essen zu holen. Die anderen male war das gewünschte essen jedesmal leer... Bis es aufgefüllt wurde hat es zu lange gedauert und bis wir wieder da waren war es bereits wieder leer. Uns wurde zu fünft zwar nur 4 mal das Buffet berechnet... jedoch ist das in relation zu dem was wir essen konnten sehr spärlich - selbst für ein Buffet...

great cafe near the english gardens. the outdoor seating was perfect for a summer evening, the menu had great variety, the choices we made were solid, and the service was perfect.

Cesar Salad und Service ausgezeichnet. Die Atmosphäre ist ruhig und gediegen und eignet sich für gute und fokussierte Gespräche.

Es wurde mit Austern beworben, allerdings gab es schon um 11 Uhr keine mehr. Ansonsten ist das Buffet eher durchschnittlich und nicht das Geld wert. Der Raum war extrem mit Tuschen zugestellt und es war sehr laut.

An excellent spot for coffee, tea, and a slice of cake. Conveniently located near the English Garden.

The ambience and decor are nice the food and service can't compete. Inappropriate price-performance ratio. Confusion about the placement even though we had reserved, beer poured well below the calibration mark, a €2 piece of egg shell in the food, instead of crispy bacon there was limp ham. In the end we were charged €10 too much, unfortunately we only discovered this when we got home. The toilets smell unpleasant and have cobwebs on the ceilings, and the dimmed lights also hide the dirt. We're not coming anymore. 1 star for the hungover waiter.

Insgesamt alles top. Leider hatten wir ein Vitello Tonnato bestellt, das so den Namen nicht verdient hat. Es war ein Haufen Schinken ohne etwas dazu 🙈

Wir waren schon öfter hier zum Brunchen und finden das Preis-Leistungsangebot - in der Regel - sehr gut (alkoholische Getränke und Speisen für 59€), allerdings waren wir sehr enttäuscht darüber, dass es an einem Festtagsbrunch weder Lachs noch Austern gab, da mit diesen geworden wird und dies einer der Gründe ist, warum wir hier zum Brunchen kommen. Das restliche Essen vom Buffet war gut aber auch nichts besonderes, solche Speisen hätten wir auch günstiger wo anders bekommen können. Werbt bitte nicht mit Austern, wenn sie nicht zur Verfügung stehen - hierüber waren nicht nur wir enttäuscht, sowie wie wir mitbekommen haben.

We were invited for brunch and were there for the first time. Great location and very friendly staff. The selection is more than enough and plentiful. For 57€ all inclusive with all drinks etc. it was really fair. I'd love to come back.😉👍

Last weekend we went to Café Reitschule for coffee and cake. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The staff seemed overwhelmed and was unfortunately very unfriendly. After asking four times to get the bill, we waited a total of 45 minutes and were ignored again and again. Finally, we went straight to the cash register in the restaurant to pay. When we politely asked to finally pay, we were dismissed with the words: 'You see what's going on today' and 'then look for another café next time'. We have never experienced anything like this - absolute disgrace and certainly not a recommendation!

Die Weinkarte ist sehr umfangreich und hat viel zu bieten. Der Service ist sehr aufmerksam und zuvorkommend, aber die Qualität des Essens steht überhaupt nicht im Verhältnis zum Preis. Würde es nicht weiterempfehlen und keinen weiteren Besuch abstatten. Im Großen und Ganzen leider enttäuschend. Das Ambiente ist auch nicht wirklich einladend eher lieblos eingerichtet.

Ein Klassiker seit meiner Jugend, ich verknüpfe immer schöne Erinnerungen mit der Reitschule.

Der für uns (5 Pers.) reservierte runde Tisch war richtig vorbereitet und o.k., ein wenig mehr am Rande hätten wir bevorzugt. Der Kellner war flink und zuvorkommend, dass er einem Gast einen neben ihm stehenden abgegessenen Teller quasi "unter der Nase" wegzog, empfand ich allerdings als unprofessionell. Das Essen wurde von den anderen Vieren überwiegend als gut beurteilt, meine Ravioli mit Pilzen waren geschmacklich und konstitutionell ein arger Fehlschlag; mein Grauburgunder war o.k. Sehr nett empfanden wir das kleine Nachtischsfeuerwerk zum angekündigten 18. Geburtstag meiner Enkelin. Insgesamt habe ich mich in der Reitschule schon mal besser ausgehoben gefühlt

The Caesar salad is extremely mediocre. Too much mayonnaise, wilted greens, overcooked bacon, and bland for €16. If you want to add chicken or anything else, the salad ends up costing more than €20. Plus, water for €8—quite an odd approach for a restaurant. It’s mainly targeted for brunch and breakfast, but I think something needs to change, guys.

We were able to have our wedding lunch at the riding school and were absolutely thrilled. The service was particularly noteworthy here. This is how high-quality gastronomy works. As a bride and groom, we were served attentively but never intrusively. Wishes were literally read from our lips. The food was just as special as the rest of the visit. The salmon tartare was particularly impressive. We look forward to your next visit!

BODENLOS - I wanted to celebrate my birthday here and made reservations long in advance. Since I visited the brunch buffet a few months ago and was very impressed, I was really happy. When we arrived we were seated in the restaurant upstairs. I was already surprised and asked about the brunch buffet. Then we were informed that we had made the wrong reservation. However, it clearly stated on our reservation that we had reserved for brunch. Well, we then paid for the coffee and left. During our stay we noticed this happening with other guests. Just bold! You look forward to a beautiful day for 2 months and then everything is ruined by the incompetence of a store!

Wir hatten Brunch gebucht. Es war jedoch nur noch ein Tisch im Durchgang verfügbar, dass wir ca. 10 Gästen und dem Servicepersonal den Weg versperrt hätten, bzw wir jeweils für diese hätten aufstehen müssen. Daraufhin bekamen wir einen Tisch im à la carte-Bereich und konnten aber somit nicht brunchen, sondern nur frühstücken. Zudem waren die Austern aus. Freundlicherweise bekamen wir einen Sekt aufs Haus, was allerdings die Enttäuschung nicht ausglich.

Sehr schöne Ambiente aber leider sehr schwaches Essensangebot. Schlechtes Brot ( nur 4 kleine harte Brötchen pro Frühstück), keine anderen Alternativen. Falsch zubereitete Schakschuka , sehr unprofessionell, insgesamt sehr kleines und liebloses Frühstück. Schade bei so einer tollen Location, leider kein niveau.

We were there today for brunch to celebrate a birthday in a small group (10 people). Food was quite good, service was also good. What's totally borderline is how close the tables are. Some of the service staff don't come to the tables without some people having to get up. You sit squashed together, unfortunately you have to constantly disturb each other because the seating is way too tight.

Sensationeller Brunch. Geschmacklich 1A und sehr frisch. Gemütlich auf der Terrasse. Tolles Ambiente. Sehr nette und aufmerksame Bedienung.

Very nice, large, chic and cozy cafe near the English Garden. The ambience is really chic, the toilets are great, really delicious tarts and cakes. The cappuccino tasted excellent. Also a large selection of vegan alternatives for food, cakes and drinks. Recommendation!

This store is timelessly beautiful and is divided into a restaurant area in the front and a lounge area in the back. There are also some seats at the bar and a nice terrace. There is a large selection of delicious cakes and tarts and a small menu with various dishes. The service was very friendly and attentive. And the price level is absolutely ok for the location and the ambience and in no way excessive.

The food itself is really very good. The staff was a complete disaster. You have the feeling that you would be a nuisance as a guest. Cheeky answers to questions, eye rolling included!!

Wir haben nur etwas Kuchen gegessen. Kaffee und Mineralwasser getrunken. Trotz verlockender Tageskarte. Sehr bedauerlich, daß die Reithalle nicht mehr in Betrieb ist ... Haben uns trotzdem wohl gefühlt. Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert.

Die Reitschule am Englischen Garten ist eine Institution in München. Das Ambiente ist sehr schön, bei guter Witterung kann man auch draußen auf der Terrasse sitzen. Der Gartensaal eignet sich gut für Bankette.

Ordered a meal that was labeled gluten free on the menue because I am celiac. After starting to eat I got suspicious because there was something that looked like bread crumb coating on some seafood. I asked the waiter about the issue, he didn't even know what I meant by gluten free, neither that the dish was labeled as such and he also didn't get the severity. He had to ask the kitchen. Yes it's panade in there, yes it's gluten. Already parts of the gluten meal was eaten - damage done. Meal was changed then, but with attitude. Half an hour after leaving the restaurant I had to get into a pharmacy for anti vomiting drugs so at least I don't throw up during the next meeting, after which I just had to head home, feeling sick. I am so tired of how irresponsible and unprofessional some restaurants are. Obviously you don't know what damage you do and how painful this is for people with celiac decease.

gute Lage, gute Essqualität und Personal war aufmerksam. Das buffet war reichvoll mit Fleisch und Fischgerichte. Käse und Wurstplatten auch mit guter Qualität. Zum Wiederholen.

Last day of summer for brunch at the riding school, €60 per head and everything your heart desires is available... Fresh fruits, spreads, sausage and cheese, egg dishes upon request and oysters😉 Friendly staff and you can really have a good time on the beautiful outdoor terrace So it was a perfect program for a Sunday

Abendesen mit Frau und zwei Gästen aus Stuttgart auf der schönen Terrasse. Aus der Wochenkarte war meine Tomatensuppe geradezu eine Offenbarung; schlicht grandios! Meine Pinza Tonno aus der Hauptkarte schmeckte herausragend, war aber für mich (91) viel zu groß (musste die Hälfte leider liegenlassen). Das Angebot an Fruchtsäften ist sehr groß, die Qualität des Mangosaftes war naturnah und sehr lecker. Die übrigen am Tisch aßen Fischgerichte oder Ofenkartoffel, dazu köstlicher Grauburgunder oder Bier, alle waren höchst zufrieden. Der Service ist beispielhaft, auch noch - oder gerade - als heftiger Regen aufkam und wir ein wenig Schutz suchen mussten. Alles in allem ein wunderschöner Sommerabend.

The location itself was beautiful, especially the view inside of the riding arena. But that's about it for the positive. One waitress was very unfriendly and ignored explicit placement requests despite asking, the other waitress could hardly remember anything. The waiting times (even for drinks) were really long and the food was unfortunately below average and completely overpriced. No recommendation from me...

Food great, service unfortunately subpar The food was really flawless, wonderfully tasty, big compliments to the kitchen! There was nothing to criticize, whether meat or vegetarian, the selection was very good and everything tasted great. Unfortunately, the service makes the experience look bad again. The staff was only semi-motivated (if you walk up to them to ask for the toilet, the staff turns away). Used, dirty dishes and empty bottles were repeatedly not covered (despite requests!), and unfortunately the order was taken incorrectly (well, mistakes happen, but correcting the order was also slow). When drinks were empty, we had to draw the attention of guests to us, and when we left the restaurant we didn't say goodbye, even though we walked right past the waiter who was checking the cash register. Unfortunately, there is a huge lack of appropriate training for staff here! And given the prices, you would expect at least a little higher quality service...

Vanaf de straat een gezellig terras, de mooie parasols, dat sprak ons aan. Maar de verrassing zit achter de voordeur! Wat een geweldig terras aan de achterkant en zeer sfeervol café/restaurant, met uitzicht op de binnenbak. Het was tijd voor koffie mit Torte. Wat een assortiment en allemaal heerlijk van smaak. Dit restaurant is de moeite waard!

Nice brunch and got some small attentions to people having their birthday

Saßen 30 min ohne Getränke obwohl wir direkt am Anfang bestellt haben. Alle Kaffees wurden falsch zubereitet und wir haben über eine Stunde auf das essen gewartet. Essen war super lecker! 20€ für ein Bellini aber 8€ für ein mimosa wo genau gleich viel drin war??? Wir haben keine Getränke Karte bekommen sonst hätten wir die nicht bestellt.

Wir hatten leider fast 30 min Wartezeit auf unseren reservierten Tisch und das Frühstück war solala. Nicht von schlechter Qualität aber geschmacklich auch keine Offenbarung und dafür am Ende zu teuer. Gerne wieder für Café und Kuchen mach einen Spaziergang im Englischen Garten aber nicht mehr zum Frühstück. Der Service war freundlich und schnell, trotz einem riesen Andrang am Sonntagmittag.

Unfreundliches platzieren an den Tisch. Nach über 25 Minuten warten wurden uns immer noch keine Karten gebracht oder gefragt ob wir was bestellen möchten. Auf Nachfrage bei einem Kellner wurde mir nur gesagt, das wäre nicht meine Station. Wir sind nach dieser Aussage gegangen. PS: Es war nicht voll.

Leider gibt es den Reitstall nicht mehr. Auch das Frühstück ist nicht mehr das was es einmal war. Schlecht aufgebackene Brezeln, überkochte Spiegeleier… alles etwas lieblos. Das Personal gibt sich Mühe, aber…

It’s nice to sit on the terrace and they have lots of choice for breakfast/brunch, meanwhile it’s a good place for afternoon tea and cake too. Was so excited and forget to take many photos. Perhaps next time 😅

Brunch - waste of money in my opinion. It resembled 3 star hotel breakfast. Poor food quality! Highly disappointed and would not recommend! For that price you can get better brunch but somewhere else!

El lugar y la comida son geniales, sin embargo, el servicio es absolutamente horrible! Fuimos “bienvenidos” por una mujer que era extremadamente descortés y tenía esta mirada de disgusto que tiene que sentarnos. No tenían una mesa lista para nosotros a pesar de que tenemos una reserva hecha con antelación. La persona que nos servía estaba mascando chicle molestamente y ponía caras cada vez que queríamos pedir algo. En general no lo recomiendo o lo volvería a visitar.

Habe ganz kurzfristig für 4P reserviert - haben schönen Tisch auf der Terrasse bekommen. Service supernett und effizient. Geschmeckt hat‘s uns auch allen - was will man mehr? (Preise sind aber schon recht gehoben - sicher auch der Top Lage geschuldet)

Company party, unfortunately the wheat beer ran out after a few hours.

Despite the restaurants not being particularly full, the staff gave the impression that they were being personally insulted by their own presence. Unfortunately, annoyed reactions and snappy answers to questions ruin the experience, even though the food itself is excellent. Especially in this price range, next time it's better to go to a store where you don't feel so unwelcome.

The food in the cafe was completely overrated and disappointing. We came for brunch - the egg benedict was undercooked, the egg white was translucent. The sauce in the egg benedict tasted bland. The baked beans in the English breakfast was dry, it seemed like it was sitting out on a warm pot for hours. Service was partially good in the beginning but partially poor at the end when we gave feedback about the food. We were told off that translucent, watery egg whites are the way Egg Benedict should be done. The other dishes we ordered (pancake and the scrambled eggs) were average. It was a pity as the atmosphere of the cafe was nice.

Could be a nice location if it weren't for the extremely loud and annoying village disco music. We quickly lost our appetite.

This venue is generally very good and we book here via our company a lot. This time the waiter never brought our second beverage order, and the chicken on the Caesar Salad was basically cold, so offering one star less. Next time will surely be excellent again!

Once again completely overpriced for mediocre food. The atmosphere is nice and the service was very good, but that doesn't justify the very high prices. What a shame, I definitely won't go there again.

The terrace is very nice. The service nice. Unfortunately there was no drinking straw at the ice cream cafe and the Bellini for €19.50 was served rather carelessly. A pity.

Eigentlich eine sehr schöne Location mit toller Terrasse im Grünen. Allerdings wird der Eindruck doch sehr getrübt von einem selbst für Münchner Verhältnisse schwachen Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Kleine Portionen zu gesalzenen Preisen, Qualität ok aber mehr auch nicht. Und für dieses Preisniveau bekam man früher mal ausgebildetes Personal. Sehr schade!
