Café Paulo in München

Very nice café with good coffee and excellent cakes, it's worth getting the Italian lemon cake ;)

One of the top places in Maxvorstadt to sip on a top notch espresso. The vibe and the location are both 10/10 and you should definitely come if you consider yourself an above average espresso enjoyer :)

A place for true espresso enjoyers. Top-notch service at this cozy and chill place at the intersection of two streets in downtown Maxvorstadt.

The "homemade" ginger lemonade costs €4.80 and is made from mineral water and syrup. It was way too expensive, tasted absolutely nothing, and to top it off, the ice cubes were poured into my cup piece by piece with my hands (which had just been used to pay for the purchase). Sorry, but that's not acceptable.

Outrageously unfriendly and hostile to children. I wanted to go into the empty café in the rain and left the stroller outside the door to see if I could get in safely. I was immediately and very rudely kicked out again. I was told I wasn't welcome with a stroller and had pushed it straight into the café without asking. When I pointed out that the stroller was still parked outside the café to see if there was space, I was accused of blocking the entrance. Apparently, I'm not the first person to have had such an experience. Absolutely never again!

The food is mediocre/okay, but the service is terrible. You almost feel like you're disturbing someone. But I was shocked to see a mother with a baby being accosted when she came in to ask for a seat (there were only two other people there, and it was pouring with rain outside). The waiter yelled at the woman and chased her away. The place was simply unspeakable and embarrassing. In retrospect, it's understandable that the place was almost empty.

We had very friendly service, who, despite the busyness, was there right away and brought our drinks promptly. I thought the prices were quite reasonable for Munich. There's plenty of seating inside and outside, but almost all of it was taken. I'd be happy to go back.

The service was very friendly, the coffee was very good, but don't speak to the man at the coffee machine. It's generally annoying.

If you dont have cash you dont come here. I drank one capp. But they dont accept to pay me cash. I need to buy anıther thing. No need to buy here there are alot of caffee

Went in here because we needed to use the bathroom, went out with the best vegan hot chocolate ever! Definitely coming back to this place!

Apart from the cafe and croissant, and the panini are very good but the other aspects such as service and atmosphere are unfortunately lackluster even in this lively district. It's quiet too and the music is cool but maybe a smile now and then?

Die hervorzuhebenden positiven Punkte sind sowohl die Lage mitten im pulsierenden Studentenviertel, als auch die Möglichkeit, bei schönem Wetter draussen sitzen zu können. Cappucino und Co. sind von durchschnittlicher Qualität, ebenso wie der Service.

Very unfriendly and hostile to children! I wanted to come in with a stroller with a baby, but even though the entire restaurant was empty, I wasn't allowed to take the stroller with me to the table (that's actually never a problem). I then drove it to the stairs to see if I could put the baby somewhere there and was immediately hit badly. I shouldn't have driven the car that far in and they had told me that. Incredibly unfriendly and in an empty shop. No wonder with the bad staff, I think it will stay that way. Good luck...

Quite nice. After a Sunday visit to the museum and a walk through Maxvorstadt, we ended up in Cafe Paulo, where we were immediately given a free table by the very friendly waitress. We ordered two croissants, one "plain" and one with vanilla, and two cappuccini - which tasted very good, but the milk foam collapsed as soon as it was served. On the other hand, we found both croissants excellent: finely slivered and with an airy structure. The furnishings seem a bit sober and outdated, chairs and benches don't necessarily invite you to linger for a long time... All in all, a bit ambivalent, but it's still enough for just under four stars.

First sat at the bar. An employee behind the bar (presumably the owner) obviously overheard us and commented harshly on our conversation... very strange. Our plates had already been cleared away and we had barely finished eating. (The fork with the last piece of cake had not yet reached his mouth). Also a bit unusual. Coffee and cake were expensive but tasty.

It's understandable that you shouldn't spend hours working on your laptop, but I find it confusing that games are also included.

Great coffee, condition nice. What I don't understand is that neither dice games nor card games are allowed to be played. What a shame!

Wenn ich in München geschäftlich Termine habe, endet das meistens in der Türkenstraße in irgendeinem der Restaurants hier. Meistens komme ich noch kurz ins "Paulo" und es ist einfach entspannend. Die kleine Außenbewirtung ist bei Wind und Wetter geöffnet, ich sitze gerne draußen, das Publikum ist nett, die Bedienung ist freundlich ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Ich suche mir drinnen in der Vitrine einen der appetitlichen Kuchensorten raus, meistens wird´s der Bananenkuchen oder Zitronenkuchen, wird dann draußen serviert mit dem Kaffee, ich nehme meistens den kleinen Americano. Die Preise sind ok für die Lage, bin ansonsten in Strasbourg, Besançon, Ingolstadt und Augsburg unterwegs und erlebe dort etwa dasselbe, eigentlich moderate Preisniveau. Schönes kleines stilvolles Café an der Straßenecke, sehr zu empfehlen.

Boss who insults customers - NOT recommended. In a polite and objective conversation with the boss, he suddenly said to me “don't look so stupid” and insulted me because of my look and appearance. I stayed calm and didn't allow myself to be provoked or stoop to his insulting level. As he left the café, he told me “that I won’t get anywhere in life” and called me “idiot.” I recommend that anyone who values ​​treating each other with respect and being treated with respect NOT visit this café. Unfriendly staff. Learning wasn't allowed, even though everything was free and we were the only ones in there. We were then 'thrown out' after we had ordered something else. Sexist behavior from the owner. As a woman, I was generally not talked to or looked at (only my male companion was insulted).

The coffee and cake (vegan) were great!!! but the waiter took my coffee right when I drank the last sip. He wanted to take the cake too but I didn't finish it. Not sure what's the rush.

The employees are friendly and pay attention to Corona rules. I ordered a tea with mint leaves in it, which cost over €5. I think the idea is good, but it's a few euros too expensive. Update: The owner's answers here are so unfriendly. You can only advise against a visit.

Nice little café in the Max-Vorstadt with very tasty coffee and hot chocolate. Unfortunately, working or studying with a laptop or tablet is undesirable here - even if the café is completely empty.

We wanted to come in with a stroller, we should have parked it in an aisle somewhere - not an option with two 3-month-old babies. We were then asked to leave in a very rude manner - absolutely family unfriendly. One waitress even apologized for the behavior of her colleague (owner?!) - so there are probably nice staff after all. We would have liked to have had several coffees and cakes here.

Very unfriendly .The order came wrong and I wanted to ask for it maybe I ordered wrong but then the employee very rudely put the coffee in front of me.

The music was good, and even though I couldn't understand the language, they were friendly and helped me order in an easy-to-understand way, which made me feel good :)

Was there for the second time because I liked it so much the first time. Unfortunately today was a disappointment. Service staff was totally overwhelmed. The waiter went to every table and asked if I had ordered a sandwich (he probably didn't know where it belonged) When I then said which cakes they had, I was told to look at the counter (don't the service staff know their own types of cakes?) Unfortunately the music was also much too loud. Unfortunately, the cake also tasted like the fridge and was completely dry so I had to leave half of it standing.

Hoch spannend wenn man die letzten Kommentare betrachtet.. ich habe die ähnliche Erfahrung gemacht Es gibt so viele tolle Cafés in der Türkenstraße - da muss man wirklich nicht dieses wählen. Café schmeckt gut aber wird schon lauwarm serviert und ist verhältnismäßig teuer. Was sehr lästig ist: man kann nur in bar zahlen und muss zum Bezahlen immer rein an die Theke. Der Besitzer ist fast immer da und wirkt unfreundlich und mürrisch. Habe durch Zufall eine Situation miterlebt, dass einem Stammgast wegen einer Lappalie Hausverbot erteilt wurde. Ich persönlich empfand das maßlos überzogen und respektlos gegebüber dem Gast. Der Platz an der Ecke ist wirklich toll, aber wegen der genannten Umstände ist das Café leider nicht zu empfehlen!

Got banana bread and two ginger limos and somehow paid 14 EUR, which is way overpriced. The banana bread was also not very good at all, pretty tasteless. Don’t think I would go here again.

Wir hatten sehr guten Flat White mit Hafermilch. Der Zitronenkuchen war etwas trocken, der Service war aber wirklich freundlich. Das Café ist nett eingerichtet, es ist aber recht eng und laut.

Also zeitig im Café Paulo war gehe ich sehr oft weil Qualität sehr gut ist Cappuccino senzi antonell Personal sensionell freundlich kann ich nur weiterempfehlen fünf Sterne vom Vangelis

Der Laden machte einen netten Eindruck - unfreundliche Kellner bei mäßigen Getränken zu hohen Preisen und ein schroffer Umgang überzeugten mich leider vom Gegenteil.

Ich kenne das Cafe von früher (lesen, Kaffee trinken etc) und habe es immer weiterempfohlen. Es war so super gemütlich und freundlich. Heute war ich mal wieder da und leider fühle ich mich überhaupt nicht willkommen, man wird nicht freundlich begrüßt und hat eher das Gefühl, dass man stört und das Personal lieber seine Ruhe hätte. Überall hängen Laptop Verbot Schilder. Ich kann verstehen, dass man nicht will, dass es zum Home Office, aber sowas geht anders. Vor allem in München! Es wirkt mir als ist der Plan, dass die Leute nur Getränke abholen und schnell wieder gehen sollen. Schade, das krieg ich am Bahnhof auch. Kaffee ist trotzdem sehr lecker.

Schnell schnell! Bezahlen, kalten Café trinken und bloß gleich wieder den Platz frei machen...

Ich fand den Karottenkuchen sehr lecker!! Auch die selbstgemachte Limo war sehr gut!

Kuchen lecker, Chai-Latte gut, Service sympathisch. Preise stolz. Die Crostata hat wirklich sehr gut geschmeckt, die kann ich empfehlen. Der Chai-Latte war okay, es hätte dezent mehr sein können. Der Kuchen war mit 3,80 € das Stück, wobei das Stück jetzt eher klein ausfiel, angeboten. Der Chai-Latte, der locker in einen coffee-to-go-Becher gepasst hätte, ist mit um die 4 € für eine Café an der Uni auch eher unstudentisch bepreist. Der Service war freundlich und bemüht, im Außenbereich gilt aber Selbstbedienung. Das Ambiente ist renovierungsbedürftig, draußen erschummelt man sich mit orangenen Folien vor den Lampen, die dann vielleicht aber auch nur zufällig aussehen wie Heizstrahler an den Sitzplätzen, fröstelnde Kundschaft. Immerhin gab's ein paar dünne Decken. Hier habe ich den Eindruck gewonnen, dass man wirklich um gute Qualität bemüht ist, aber die vielleicht hohe Miete an den Kunden stärker durchreichen muss.

Eine robuste 2. Nicht überfüllt, Bezahlung gleich bei Bestellung an der Theke. Keine Laptopnutzung. Kaffe nicht übermäßig gut, aber okay. Alles in allem gut. Ruhig... Man sitzt auch gut draußen...

War mit Freunden im Paulo,es hat uns sehr gefallen super freundliches Personal und der Kaffee/Espresso war der Hammer:))))/ Kuchen auch Mega lecker immer wieder gerne.....;)))
