Beautiful, wonderful food, and a great view. We'd love to come back!😊

We went there for coffee. I had a cherry cake. Unfortunately, the cake consisted of nothing but sponge cake and crumbles, and only had five cherries. The whipped cream was from a spray can. It's a shame they don't make more of an effort. After paying, I also realized I'd been overcharged by €1.80. Prices are exorbitant these days, just like everywhere else.

We've been coming back for almost 20 years. It's our favorite place. Our (now grown-up) children learned to surf there (shoutout to Tobi), and the view and peace are a joy. The rooms are great, and so is the breakfast. See you next year!

Very nice atmosphere on the Achterwasser. We sat outside on a boat and ate country cake. Delicious! Apricot cheese with cream.

Amazing scenery! An absolute dream, and if you're there at the right time, you can enjoy your dinner with a spectacular sunset! And I recommend staying until the last red glow disappears from the sky; it's worth it! And a Knatter crumble for dessert, highly recommended! The zander fillet was also absolutely fantastic. And the best part was the hotel's own cat, who sat by the water at the perfect time to watch the sunset—a dream of a picture. This evening was breathtaking!

Completely overrated. The outdoor area is nice, as is the coffee itself. But the staff is sometimes very arrogant. The food looks good, but it should be renamed. For example, "Salad Plate with Matjes" (Herring). There's more salad on it than what should be on it.

The food and the location were definitely worthy of 5 stars. Only the wait between the starter and the main course was a bit too long. This in no way detracted from the quality of the food. The dishes were freshly prepared and perfectly cooked. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Absolutely, good food and a great place to unwind.

We stopped by for coffee despite the bad weather. Delicious coffee and a good selection of cakes and desserts. We tried a cheesecake with apricot and, from the ice cream menu, vanilla ice cream with pumpkin seed oil and seeds, both very delicious. If we were on the way, we would stop by again. Fair value and very friendly service.

A popular tourist destination, the ambiance and location are very good. I can't comment on the rooms; I haven't had to stay yet. A visit is always good.

We've only ever been to Café Knatter on weekends. The staff is very friendly, especially the breakfast queen "Knatter-Heike," such a lovely person ❤️. She puts so much effort into the buffet, it's simply fantastic. Best wishes from Berlin Thomas and Babett

Our visit to the restaurant today was disappointing, and the dishes were completely overpriced. The fish soup was thin and flavorless. The tarte flambée was as thin as a shoe sole and had been in the oven for far too long. The food was only lukewarm overall, and the chanterelles were cold. We won't be visiting the restaurant again. The staff weren't exactly friendly either. A shame.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed! The food was thoroughly unsatisfying. The chanterelle mushrooms were cold, the fish soup lacked flavor, and the tarte flambée was simply terrible! The dough resembled a sheet of parchment paper with very little topping. The prices are completely unjustified!!!!!

This is a must-visit! We stopped off on a lovely 🚲 tour from Ahlbeck to Ückeritz and had a great meal there! The staff was very friendly, and we had a great time with the gentleman who accompanied us so accommodatingly! The location on the Achterwasser is perfect, and the beautiful view completes everything! Keep it up 👍🏻...we'd love to come back!

We spontaneously went there for coffee two days ago around 4 p.m. and were assigned a table by the waiter. The view of the Achterwasser is stunning and gigantic, and the loungers are sure to be occupied in good weather. Unfortunately, the cake selection was very limited, with two different slices of leftover cake, even though it was still coffee time. The cake's price-performance ratio (a very small slice) is, in my opinion, not justified compared to other cafés on the island. The service was unfortunately not very attentive. It's a shame, really, because the location is unbeatably great. It's also worth mentioning that there's an additional parking fee, even if you visit the café. Perhaps a few changes to the service and, according to other reviews, a few other small things are needed to improve guest satisfaction again.

We had reserved a table for the evening rush hour, which is highly recommended. Due to the impressive view of the sunset on the western shore of the Achterwasser, the restaurant is particularly busy at this time. Despite the comment from the "reception manager" Marco that the food might take a little longer due to the influx of visitors, everything went very smoothly and very professionally. The entire, extremely friendly service staff was very efficient. Our orders were taken promptly, the drinks arrived quickly, and the delicious food was not long in coming. A large part of this was certainly due to the 110% "chief organizer" Marco, who quickly took the orders after reception, but then repeatedly visited each table to check that everything was in order, and occasionally assisted the colleagues in the service team with the drinks delivery.

We usually have a good time here. Great food. Friendly service, and a fantastic view. But this time we waited an hour and a half for our food. The first apology didn't come until an hour later.

We spent our vacation here. - Rooms spread over two floors with a great view; it's a bit warmer upstairs when the sun shines every day. - Rooms aren't cleaned daily, but if you're staying multiple nights, an intermediate cleaning is available. - Breakfast has everything you need. - The surf school is next door, so it was busy. - You should always reserve a table in the restaurant several days in advance, whether for coffee or dinner, even as a hotel guest. - Sitting in a lounge chair and taking in the view/panorama over the Achterwasser is a relaxing experience. - Praise and thanks to the service staff in the restaurant and the chef. Everything was always perfect for us. Delicious food, quick service, and of course, the beautiful sunsets. It can get quite crowded at sunset.

We were just there for a break on our bike ride. It's not really worth the detour. There are some lovely crickets to pet.

Very nice ambiance – but the value for money isn't right at all. Very expensive – very, very small portions. €7 for four pieces of chicken as an extra charge – outrageous, even for this place.

I don't know why waiters/owners cannot be pleasant when they advise you there is no room. Arrived at 1815 for dinner with a party of 5, and I counted 14 free tables, but was rudely advised "there is no room". But I guess that is the way to ensure the customer never returns even if there is room one day. Bye bye....

Completely overrated. We went there for dinner, and it was way overpriced. With a fish platter, I expect different types of fish, not three of the same kind. What a pity.

A lovely restaurant right on the Achterwasser lake. The view is really good. Unfortunately, the service wasn't very friendly. There were food scraps in my ice cream that definitely didn't belong there. Instead of a friendly "sorry," we were simply told that we shouldn't take it too seriously when people are working there. The problem was resolved in a businesslike manner, but if you insist on being humane, you should also act humanely. In my opinion, cleanliness is paramount in the restaurant industry. It's a real shame.

We were unfortunately very disappointed. We had to wait an extremely long time for our food. When it finally arrived, it wasn't really warm anymore. Hunger drove it down. To top it all off, there was a long black hair in the food and unidentifiable things in the goulash. After repeatedly informing the waiter, we were only offered dessert as compensation. A brief apology came later. We had expected more. It was truly disappointing, as we weren't used to it last year.

We had an ice cream sundae there. The view of the Achterwasser was magnificent. Highly recommended.

Beautiful location, but a disappointing overall experience. Our first visit to Café Knatter was also our last! The location is truly great, the ambiance pleasant – but – you need a lot of time, and in our opinion, the value for money isn't right. We were there for dinner. Ordering drinks took about 30 minutes, and we waited over 1 hour and 20 minutes for the food – for a simple schnitzel! The food tasted okay, but given the prices (overall package), you'd expect significantly more. Conclusion: Unfortunately disappointing. There are many other restaurants on Usedom with better service and better value for money.

Our first visit to CK, and it was about time we visited this island institution. We didn't try the dishes, but the cake was very good. The service was very friendly; the view of the Achterwasser speaks for itself. We'd love to come back 🤞

Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it. We reserved a table for two at 7 p.m. earlier this week. We were seated straight away, but unfortunately we had to wait 20 minutes for the menu. When we ordered, the drinks didn't arrive for another 20 minutes, and the food for 1.5 hours. The food was okay, but I thought the price was too high. The service was only partially friendly. Unfortunately, there is one major criticism: the soap in the bathroom was empty, and even though several people approached the waiter, nothing was done during our two-hour stay. From a hygiene perspective, this is unacceptable for the guests. I personally ate here a few years ago when it was a top-notch restaurant, but unfortunately not now. I was very annoyed to have paid so much money for such poor service.

A very nice, stylish café right on the Achterwasser with a magnificent view. The food was extremely delicious, although the portions could have been larger. ;) The aperitifs were very well-mixed. All in all, we spent a wonderful few hours on the lovely terrace, and we did so completely spontaneously, without a reservation.

Five of us arrived at the restaurant at 7:20 p.m. The starter was served at 8:30 p.m. The main course, after we inquired, was served at 9:30 p.m. It's a shame, the ambiance is nice, but you shouldn't go to this restaurant if you're hungry. Unfortunately, we weren't informed before ordering that it would take longer.

I've never had such a relaxed meal, with a fantastic view, and was very appreciated by the staff. 😄 The price was great too!

We arrived by car at 5:30, enjoyed the great spot, then went to the restaurant, and upon returning, we found a parking ticket. We then discovered that the area, which from the outside looks like a cross between a lawn and a sandpit, actually has a parking fee. Regardless of the fact that the signage is inconvenient, we expect the restaurant to cover these costs or at least provide a notice. If we, as a family, leave there with €120, free parking is a given. Things like that stick in your mind and prevent you from returning.

On Saturday, we were sent away at 8:30 p.m. with a request for food, on the grounds that the kitchen closes at 8:30 p.m. When we asked about the opening and closing times, they confirmed these for the other days. On Wednesday, we returned before 8:00 a.m. and again received no food, saying they were full. Being sent away twice without any leniency and, above all, without being reminded that a reservation is absolutely necessary if you want to eat, which was pointed out to us today, completely undermines any sense of service. What a shame!

Otherwise, everything was great. The cocktails weren't the ones listed on the menu. A very nice restaurant on the water with a beautiful view directly onto the water. Friendly staff and excellent service. The menu is concise but perfectly adequate—there's something for everyone. Our meals have always been delicious. We've been coming here once a year for the past three years.

We were at a restaurant and had to wait quite a while for our food. The zander was good, but too small. The beans were unfortunately mushy, and the breadcrumbs weren't crispy. At the end, I was asked to decide whether I wanted to tip 8% or more when paying by card. There was no "no tip" button at all. I felt completely taken aback. Tipping should always be voluntary. For this price level, I would have expected better food and better service. One of the guests at the next table didn't get any food and had to watch his family eat while he waited another 15 minutes for his food....

We've heard a lot of good things about Café Knatter from friends, but somehow we've never managed to visit. Yesterday, we finally did. We highly recommend the online table reservation. Fast, easy, and reliable. I doubt you'll always get a table without a reservation during peak season. The restaurant is located right on the Achterwasser lake, with a stunning view, especially the sunsets...the food and service are perfect. We'll be happy to come back, thanks to the team.

Anyone on holiday on Usedom and not coming here is really missing out! It's not just an absolute dream spot for kitesurfers, but also for those who enjoy peace and quiet. Watching others learn to kitesurf from a surf instructor and try their hand at it for the first time is always interesting and sometimes even funny. The view over the shallow water is fantastic, the sunsets are legendary, and the restaurant serves really good food. The staff are friendly and quick, and the prices are in line with the island and location.

A great location for breakfast too! We've been to Knatter several times by booking in advance for the breakfast buffet. A beautiful table or board was always prepared for us, fitting the occasion. Great location and great ambiance, but that's about it, unfortunately. The food wasn't really well-balanced. There were four of us, and we received lukewarm dishes, and one meal arrived almost 20 minutes late (but only after we asked). The menu was overpriced and very limited. The value for money here is absolutely not right. My Gin Cocktail, Knatter Spezial, had a whopping two blueberries and one raspberry. We won't be coming back and can't recommend it. P.S.: We came as restaurant guests.

Great restaurant and great location directly on the Achterwasser

We were looking for a place with vegan coffee. At the entrance, we were told that they did have vegan options. However, the menu listed two lunch/dinner dishes (at least!) that could be veganized. Vegan cake and oat milk, however, were nowhere to be found. We were then served cow's milk and honey with our coffee and sea buckthorn juice... A complete fail from a vegan perspective. Great location! But next time, I'd rather go to the cocktail bar at the surf rental shop next door.

Good food – but the parking trap ruins the visit We visited Kaffee Knatter for the second time. The goulash was delicious, as were the strawberry punch and the beer. Unfortunately, the portions were extremely small – simply not worth it for €26.50. The price-performance ratio isn't right here. What completely ruined our stay: After dinner, we found a €45 parking ticket on our car. There is a sign at the entrance, but with the sun low in the sky, it was simply unreadable. There was no indication of parking management in the restaurant itself. That the property has since been leased to a private parking service provider isn't something we find out until it's too late. It's a shame – given the prices and the standards of the place, we expect hospitality instead of parking rip-offs. It's hard to come back. A shame!

The location was uniquely beautiful. Service was unfriendly. We wanted to sit by the window, but apparently it wasn't possible. Tables were reserved, but they were free for 1.5 hours while we were there. Also, you can't reserve a specific table when you book online, so that was a lie. The food, relative to the price, was so-so...it was standard but not commensurate with the price. We've had different experiences there before. I hope it was an exception.

A visit to the island is always a must, of course, to Café Knatter. The food was, as always, very good. The service was friendly, polite, and attentive, even when the place was full. A DJ accompanied the sunset. Keep up the good work. 👍👍👍

We visited Café Knatter during our Usedom vacation after seeing it on a TV show and choosing it as our destination for our e-bike ride. We were absolutely not disappointed. Everything was perfect, from the weather to the friendly service, good cakes, and delicious drinks. We were even recommended an evening visit with a great view of the sunset over the Achterwasser. We might become repeat offenders.

A great place! Unfortunately, the food and drinks are completely overpriced and the portions are small. However, the service and view are fantastic.

The restaurant was a fantastic discovery! Parking directly at the hotel. Great ambiance in the winter garden on the tranquil Achterwasser with a magnificent view, detailed and quaintly decorated. Unobtrusive, groovy background music. The food was top-notch! Even the simplest "side dishes," such as the sauce on the cucumber salad, tasted exceptionally refined. (Just order a bowl of cucumber salad with everything you usually eat... you won't regret it!). Familiar dishes were transformed into something special - here, someone knows how to balance the flavors so that nothing is run-of-the-mill! We had excellent, juicy steaks cooked to perfection, delicate fish with creamy herb purée, homemade gnocchi with a highly aromatic sauce, and for dessert, crumble and wild berry tiramisu - every single dish was an extraordinary taste experience. The wait staff were attentive and cheerful - EVERYTHING was just right here. We really enjoyed the evening and would happily recommend the restaurant!

Probably one of the most beautiful views over the Achterwasser, right at sunset! The staff is prompt and friendly, and the entire decor is decorated with great attention to detail. The vegetarian food was very good, although the goulash was a bit tough. The kids' menu sometimes comes with mashed potatoes instead of fries and a salad, which I really liked. Overall, our meal was good, if not outstanding, but the great location justifies the slightly higher prices.

Absolutely unbeatable location. The menu is concise, but the cuisine is authentic and of high quality. It's not exactly cheap, but it's worth every cent. The service was friendly, warm, and humorous. We felt truly at home. The only drawback was the additional parking fee. All in all, a full recommendation.

We held our wedding reception there. From the consultation and advice from service managers to the execution of the ceremony, everything was perfect. The restaurant manager is simply fantastic, very nice and helpful. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The decor is very modern, but also has a vintage charm. The location is, of course, hard to beat, especially when the weather is good. All in all, a clear 10/10.
