The service staff was very friendly and accommodating this Saturday lunchtime!

We were there on Sunday afternoon. It was very busy, but the service staff tried hard and were friendly despite the stress. I ate a cheeseburger with fries. That was ok. The fries are very cross and tasty. The location right on the Bigge is great. In summer you can sit outside, directly at the dam.

Very nice chain restaurant, located directly at the reservoir. Here you can eat delicious food with a beautiful view of the water. The service is nice, fast and attentive. The food, in my case a schnitzel, was well made and the price/performance ratio was good. I'd love to stop by here in the summer when you can sit outside... 😊

Have been here many times for the breakfast buffet and have never been disappointed. Everything is delicious and beautifully prepared. We are constantly checking to see if everything is still there. The selection is more than enough and there is something for everyone. Last week we were served by Julian and he was very nice, accommodating and attentive. Kudos to him and the whole team!

First the good: The service was completely fine and good. The food: was just disgusting! Greasy, dead-fried schnitzel and the salad was ancient and wilted. You don't really want to do that to a guest. Here they did it. Our daughter now has stomach cramps and diarrhea. Thank you very much.

We had made our reservation online and also stated that we would come with a dog for the Saturday breakfast. Unfortunately the place wasn't ideally located, including the dog. But in the end it was okay. The food was ok. What was special was the Shakshuka, which I didn't expect and tasted good. Unfortunately, it was difficult to get service staff to the table for additional drinks etc.

I invited my neighbors down the street, including the children, to brunch at the Extrablatt on Saturday. We had the entire upstairs area to ourselves. Many of my neighbors have never been in the extra paper. Everyone praised the really diverse buffet. Everyone will find some favorite foods there, from children to adults. And the food is not just there, but also very tasty. Egg with salmon in muffin form, a great selection of cheese, warm, delicious rolls (where can you find them), pancakes, donuts and more for the little ones, free sweets, etc. A dream. We also had a great waitress who had everything ready for us, from iced tea to champagne. It was a great experience in the extra paper and there are probably a few more visitors now (our neighbors) who hadn't been there before. Well done! Thank you very much!

Frightening. About 1-2 years ago I gave it 5 stars. Today at most 1. Unclean, there are dead animals on the floor everywhere. Leftover food that could never have come from one morning. Spider webs with dead wasps and flies. Waited 15 minutes for the coffee. Which of course was cold...

We were sitting upstairs and it urgently needed to be cleaned, dead animals everywhere on the floor and animals hanging in spider webs on the ceiling. Coffee lukewarm. Not again.

Was there on Saturday, September 28th, 2024 around 12:00 p.m. We had a cashier without a name tag. Super friendly, great mood, was a cool experience! When I'm on shift, I'll be happy to come back

Beautiful place, great food, but not many people to take orders. I loved that there was cutlery for children, it was super cool and welcoming.

So location is great. Drink very expensive. It's cheaper in Bonn and Cologne. I don't know what milkshake it was like, after 45 minutes we didn't feel like waiting anymore. Totally overwhelmed all together. Too bad... OTon, then I'll just pay for the shakes myself. Why does the staff have to do this? Either a blatant lie, or a cheap excuse to make you feel guilty.

The food was delicious, the service depends on the personal touch. One waitress didn't feel like it, which was noticeable, but I think the shift manager noticed and continued to serve us. All in all a good evening!

I was pleasantly surprised after a long absence from visiting

We wanted to have breakfast, we were overwhelmed by the huge offer on the breakfast buffet, the price for the buffet is unbeatable for such an offer, drinks not included except orange juice, which is also available at the buffet, TOP👍

Very nicely located directly on the Bigge and with a great view of the water. The outdoor area is a dream, especially in summer. Service is friendly and quick. 👍 Not unusual for an extra sheet - high / increasing noise towards the evening. Well, the food. Taste is always one thing / different. The pizza was absolutely OK and would be my choice next time too. However, I was disappointed with the crust. In terms of taste, it was OK (but nothing more) and what surprised me the most was the “clear plate”. At least a few more fries could have visibly improved the whole thing. It's a shame that so many savings were made here. I wasn't alone in our group with this impression. The price/performance ratio was also not justified. Parking: I thought it was great that you were actively asked whether you had parked in the parking lot and whether you should validate your parking card. 👍 Conclusion: Very nice location with a great view of the water. Great for a coffee/drink. 👍 Eat as described above. Not bad, but not great either.

One star deducted from the service because a meal was forgotten. Perhaps this can be excused because of the large number of guests.

I come from nearby and have been there at all times of the day. I was there on Saturday. It was a terrible experience. It was super loud again, the coffee came when we had finished breakfast and the buffet was almost empty. I've been there twice before for breakfast and each time I left super stressed. There's far too much noise there, you don't have any peace and quiet at all. The staff takes far too long to take orders. But it's the same at lunchtime and in the evening... What a shame...

I can only recommend the burgers 😉 really big, really tasty, really full 🤙🏻

Went there for breakfast with four people. Despite it being very busy, I can't fault the service. We had the buffet three times and the express breakfast once. Drinks and the two filled halves, very generously topped, were served quickly. Moving outside wasn't a problem either. Here too the service was friendly. For once an extra thank you to Joy………

Nice stay! Update: The road to the cafe is almost completely finished. However, my navigation system doesn't know the street. The waitresses are very friendly. Update: The road to the cafe is ready and can be found in the navigation system. Anyone who takes out a ticket upon entry can have it validated at the cash desk in the cafe before exiting. Next door is the brewery, which is also very nice. Update: Always a busy house with treats for everyone!

Very nice place located on the Biggesee. Both inside and out. Cozy outside. The breakfast is super varied so that vegetarians and others can also find something to eat.

The ambience is great. The extra sheet is right on the Bigge. We ordered 2 iced coffees (vanilla ice cream with coffee, that's what it says on the menu), so I expected vanilla ice cream too. Unfortunately the iced coffees came without ice. The answer to the comment that the vanilla ice cream was missing was that it had already melted... ah yes... complained again. After some discussion: “We can make new iced coffees, but then they won’t be any different!” OK. Then the waitress brought another iced coffee, this time obviously with vanilla ice cream. Why such a discussion...?!? Unfortunately, this iced coffee wasn't as tasty as expected... It's not a nice stay if you don't get what you order and then have to argue about it!

Mega location and also great service, food and staff

Food is very good, service is usually good, sometimes you have to wait longer even when it's not that busy. The outside area is great, but the inside is very loud when there is a lot of activity.

Was there yesterday after a walk, unfortunately I can only agree with the bad reviews here. The service is really a disaster!!! The order was only partially taken and things were brought that were not ordered. Despite a complaint, this was not corrected. Well, that was it for me, unfortunately I can't recommend the Olpe extra sheet.

I am a permanent guest at the Extrablatt Olpe and am always more than satisfied with the service... (of course I also have my favorite waitresses like Joy and Gina, for example). The ambience by the water is really nice and I like it when the lights are dimmed and you don't have a spotlight on you, it's more comfortable. The food (breakfast) is SUPER tasty, fresh and varied. I think it's great that dogs are allowed in and the staff are always very helpful. It's a very nice place to stay and I like being there. Just the third time that we sit at the table for almost 30 minutes and are simply ignored and not served. The waitress prefers to fiddle with her cell phone instead of taking an order. And there really wasn't much going on... The view is great, but that's the only plus point. It was probably our last attempt...

Unfortunately we had very bad experiences at Café Extrablatt today. It started with ordering the drinks. The café was not full and we were only served when we asked. After the drinks were there, there was a dead wasp in one of the drinks. When we asked a waitress about it, she said it had just flown into it (actually everyone knows that a wasp is not immediately dead when it falls into a drink). The drink was reluctantly exchanged. Afterwards the food came with pasta that had been ordered without parmesan and with parmesan (ok we collected the parmesan from the pasta without saying anything because we had already let the drink go back). When we were finally able to eat, we saw that the chicken including the bacon on our burgers was completely burnt and the fries were hard. Now we had enough and got a response from the waiter: "Yes, I can see that your food is burnt." Ok food was almost completely returned as thanks for all the mistakes there was a burger from 2 burnt ones and one wrong order for free without an apology or anything. At the end they wished us a nice day, which was meant rather ironically and added a cheeky sentence afterwards. The staff should urgently be better trained. This is not how you treat your customers when the fault is obviously the café's fault and you should also know how to deal with customers. Thank you very much, we will learn from the disappointment.

I think it's gotten worse and worse over the last few years. Unfortunately, the only thing that is good these days are the drinks. Sometimes the service (not all) passes you by with tunnel vision and seems absolutely overwhelmed (we waited over 20 minutes before we could even order anything). The food used to be better too. I used to be here much more often and preferred it. If anything, the bright spot is the breakfast buffet, although that has also become very overpriced.

Friendly service, seating inside and outside

We went here for breakfast with friends today and it was ok. We made a special reservation because we expected it to be a little more crowded. Reservations are only made inside, not outside. It would have been far too crowded and loud inside for us and since there was enough space outside we went outside. The buffet was already relatively empty at around 10:40 a.m., many containers were relatively empty. Of course, there are also refills here, but the first impression was quite sobering. The selection is extensive but could also offer more depending on the price. You also have to book drinks separately. Unfortunately it took a good 15 minutes until the first service was at our table and another 15 minutes until the drinks were there. In general, the service was friendly but not attentive and there were simply not enough staff! After the first drinks, we weren't asked again if we wanted to drink anything else. Only at the end when we wanted to pay. The food was overall very tasty. Paying by card was not possible! We already knew from other reviews here that credit cards haven't been working for weeks, but 4 other cards (not credit cards) also didn't work. For such a large company, something like this should work smoothly, or if errors occur they should be fixed. The view of the Bigge is very beautiful and probably the main reason why we would come back again.

Sunday morning. Entrance area totally overcrowded. Anyone who comes in stands directly in line in front of the buffet, which is very uncomfortable for the guests sitting there. Eternal queuing, even if you just want to catch up on something. Price far too high for the things on offer. Coffee is also available extra. Service is OK. I wonder if the owner has ever taken a picture of it. So that was definitely our last visit.

Rich breakfast buffet, nice service, nice location. The only thing that didn't work was validating the parking ticket. Our group was there with 4 cars, with 3 of them the ticket was validated and we had to pay.

Very hostile towards customers.. Apparently they do not accept Visa, mastercard, maestro, american express and mastercard debitcard.. I had 4-5 different cards to pay with but they only accept gira(?) and cash. I explained very calmly I would get cash and they could have my name and phone nr and hotel room nr. However they insisted they wanted my ID card or a photo of my ID card which I refused and calmly explained I just wanted to leave my details and get cash from the bank. The manager clearly wanted to impress the other staff and she called the police, that made her look ridiculous. I explained I wanted to pay and remained calm. When she felt I was not impressed she suddenly was ok with me leaving the personal info and getting cash and called off the police. Do not go here, very offensive approach to customers. I feel for the staff as you really cannot take this manager serious.

I was traveling by bike. I had already planned a little break here 😉 Once I sat down at a table, it really didn't take long for someone to take my order. However, at first it all looked a little unsorted or not agreed upon among the staff. But that happened because someone (think boss or something) helped a little. The rest was great. Latte macchiato and cake really perfect. 👍😀 Service was absolutely super nice. I also thought it was okay for the price. You have to consider the great location. That alone makes a visit worth it. I'm excited to see what my next visit will be like 😉 Edit! Well, unfortunately not so much this time. 🙄 Drink came super quickly. After that, no one cared about you anymore. No food! Even though I had previously asked for the card separately. So, we drove again without eating. Which might be better considering the prices! They're amazing now 😳 around €6 for an alcohol-free Hefeweizen. 😳 It's getting worse everywhere! Unfortunately 😔 And seriously! 5 to 6 € for fries? Something's wrong!

The quantity of the breakfast buffet is definitely sufficient, but unfortunately there is a bit of a lack of vegan selection. The coffee isn't quite to my taste but that's a thing with flavors :) Why does the service now have 3 stars? Very simple. Unfortunately, there is also a lack of manpower here. It could have just been a snapshot. The service person who served us was very calm and friendly, we didn't get the impression that she was overwhelmed, but there was a bit of a lack of willingness here and there. This was simply because two people couldn't handle all the guests. Otherwise everything is cool and worthwhile. Price/performance = top. 👍🏼

The food takes ages to arrive! We waited for the food from 12:00 to 12:55, the tables next to us came and went because they had buffet food! The same game then continued with the bill! After another 30 minutes we were able to leave again (we had to run after the waitress)! I think there is no second chance even though the food was delicious! Really a shame

We would love to come to the Olpe extra paper. Service and food were great, but it was noisy at brunch because it was very crowded. But with the huge selection I have nothing to complain about!

The Cafe Extrablatt was very well attended both inside and outside. You could wait a little longer for service and it was the same when paying. The cake was okay but nothing special. The ambience was great!

So I can't understand the previous negative reports. I had just eaten there, the drinks arrived after 5 minutes. When the glass was empty, I immediately asked if I wanted anything else… Great. Robin “my” waiter brought me my food and the fries weren’t entirely fresh. When I asked him to try one, he immediately swapped them for fresh ones without hesitation. What more could you want to do with service? And the store is currently half full. Any time.

Were there for the first time today and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. Compared to the restaurant in Siegen, it is much more pleasant here. Luckily there wasn't much going on and there wasn't a long wait for the food. The price-performance ratio is also simply top! For 16 euros you get a thick burger with fries. These days you rarely see something like that. The service (especially Kevin Abi) is very personable and you feel welcome. Unfortunately I don't live that close to the store otherwise I would come here much more often 👍🏻👍🏻

We cycled to Café Extrablatt on Mother's Day with our bikes. We have to say everything was totally relaxed, and the employees were also very nice. The food was very tasty 😋

If you park in front of it, a disgusting stream of old frying grease shoots at you. The interior is not our taste. The terrace is nice. We didn't eat anything. No appetite.

Nice staff despite the hut being full

We have been regularly featured in the Extrablatt since it opened. Unfortunately, the food is getting worse and the service leaves a lot to be desired. The waiters are trying hard, but not really suitable for the catering industry. The card says: Shaker Time. A mojito comes out of the machine for 10.45 euros and tastes like nothing. So it's better to order a glass of wine. We've been hearing for weeks that the credit card payment device is defective. I'm really wondering whether the transaction fee isn't simply saved here. The service concept really leaves a lot to be desired. Nevertheless, sitting here at the Biggesee is great. You just have to make compromises and not order everything.

I recently had an extremely disturbing experience at the Extrablatt in Olpe. When I ordered an iced chocolate shake, I found pieces of plastic in my drink. This is not only disgusting, but also extremely dangerous. The pieces of plastic were so sharp that I could have choked or suffered internal bleeding. After I pointed this out to the staff, I received a new shake, but I was constantly worried that there might be pieces of plastic in it again. Such lack of care and hygiene is absolutely unacceptable. Such incidents should be reported to the health department. I will definitely avoid this place and cannot recommend it to anyone.
