Very fast processing, food delicious.

Despite the late hour, the staff was very attentive and friendly. We had a wonderful evening here with friends.

Unfortunately, it was like a train station waiting room. The food was good, though.

I went to Café del Sol in Hildesheim for lunch today and ordered the schnitzel with fries. The prices for food and drinks are fair and, in my opinion, reflect the quality offered. The service is very friendly, the location is appealing, and everything is clean and tidy. Overall, a pleasant atmosphere – ideal for a relaxing lunch break, whether alone or in a group.

A nice restaurant with some food. How come they don't even have a pot to properly heat soup? Microwaving isn't even acceptable at home. So why go to a "restaurant"? At McDonald's, they heat the food naturally. It's just a cold soup – offering something like that as "warm soup" from a can in a restaurant is ridiculous! The quality of the cheap coffee, with its excessive bitterness, leaves much to be desired. The restaurant is usually very loud, crowded, and far too hot. If you want to go outside during a nice time of year, like in summer, to get some fresh air or simply sit outside, you're out of luck as a non-smoker because everyone is smoking. Why can't they simply divide the outdoor area into smoking and non-smoking sections so that non-smokers can also enjoy the fresh air and the ambiance? This kind of restaurant culture is unacceptable and impossible for children, as children especially need to be protected from such harmful substances. It's a real shame and could be easily remedied since there's plenty of space. Perhaps this could be a suggestion that will be addressed openly with the restaurant management; we would be pleased if it were.

Fantastic service! We hadn't reserved a table, but were given one for nine. Since there were only three of us and a group of seven also needed a table, we were asked to wait briefly until one became available. They didn't charge us for the drinks we had already ordered. Where else do you find service like that? Amazing!

Delicious schnitzel served by very friendly staff. Only the homemade lemon-raspberry lemonade was a bit too sweet.

I've been going to Café del Sol more often lately, and I really enjoy it here. The food is excellent, and the service is very pleasant and friendly. I love going there, and even if I haven't made a reservation, they always try to find me a table. I appreciate that. Keep up the good work!

The food and service were very good. The decor is nice, but it's quite echoey; conversation is only possible with the person next to you.

The food is actually quite tasty; I especially love the schnitzel, but the service is rather rude. If you order a schnitzel even though you already have one, you usually have to wait half an hour for a small one. And special orders like salad without dressing are ignored; they just add dressing anyway.

We were there and were allowed to bring our dog inside too, 10/10 service, very friendly and attentive. 10/10 food we had the lasagna, burger, salad and everything was amazing.

The menu is poor ( The food is normal, there are cobwebs on the flowerpots. They can't even give a piece of cake to the birthday boy - greed and inability to go to a meeting, maneuver in terms of service! Disappointed!

Three weeks ago, there was no pork schnitzel at 7 p.m., and today, at 7 p.m., there was no pinsa. Perhaps they should plan a little better to keep their customers full (or perhaps even happy?). Addendum: This was the alternative: lukewarm pasta on the side (I could have complained, but then everything would have taken even longer, as it already does) with Parmesan cheese on 7 pastas.

Addendum after our second visit: As always, we had our two small dogs with us. After 45 minutes, we were asked to take the dog down, which was wrapped in our jacket and lying on the wipe-clean chair (he hadn't even touched the chair), because the manager was in the building. Next door, children were romping about on the sofa, and there were leftover food and cutlery under the tables. What's worse? A dog wrapped in its own jacket/blanket on a chair, the mess and dirt around the tables, or children running around on the furniture? We've never experienced anything like that in any restaurant or bar. Nice café, very friendly staff. Unfortunately, the portion was a bit small for the price. Otherwise, highly recommended.

The breakfast was delicious, and the buffet was also well-stocked. However, I find it a real shame when drinks are ordered for breakfast and they don't arrive for 30 minutes, after you've already eaten two plates. Reordering drinks also took too long.

Bad service, waitress was condescending and arrogant. I ordered a schnitzel from the Schnitzel Holiday promotion, my daughter (6) a plate of pasta. Unfortunately the portion was so small that she was still hungry afterwards. It took ages until I could reorder because there was no service. In the meantime, my daughter was allowed to eat the fries from my plate because she was hungry. When I was finally able to reorder, I was reprimanded and told that I was not allowed to share the fries with anyone else at the table 🤨 (Schnitzel Holiday promotion per person). The waitress turned around (she didn't have time for me) and wanted to ask her shift manager. When she came back, I was finally able to order the second portion of pasta for my daughter and a second schnitzel for myself. It then took another 25 minutes for the food to arrive at the table. We had no appetite after being treated like that. I've been coming to the Sol Café regularly since 2003. Prices are rising, the quality of the food is declining, and so is (sometimes) the level of service provided by the staff.

It was simply too loud; you felt like you had to shout at the people there to be heard. But the rest of the place was great. There was plenty of food to choose from, and table service was quick, too.

The ambiance is nice. The service is also okay. The food, however, is rubbish. Sad! We ordered burgers and schnitzel. The aioli was awful. The burgers and schnitzel tasted like cardboard. It used to be better. You can't eat there anymore. It's a waste. No wonder they're currently looking for kitchen staff, a head chef, etc.

Highly recommended. The wait was an hour, though, so it loses a star, and it's a bit noisy... but the staff is super friendly and the interior is chic.

The food and service are truly excellent. Unfortunately, the music is always so loud that it's almost impossible to have a conversation.

The quality didn't match the price. Completely overpriced. Another visit is out of the question for now, because I'm always getting annoyed about something.

When the weather's nice, it's best to sit outside. A good menu with something for every taste.

We went to brunch today with 10 people. The breakfast offerings were okay. When we wanted something warm (roast pork with mashed potatoes) from the buffet at 12:15, there was only a small pile of mush, which was already cold. When we asked, we were told, "Yes, there's more coming..." Some time later, at 12:46, 14 minutes before the end of brunch, someone came with fried minced meat rolls that didn't look particularly appetizing. None of my guests wanted any of them. When it came to the check, I had agreed with the waitress that they would only charge for breakfast, but she didn't and deducted €20.90 for brunch. For me, brunch is when I also eat something warm, so all 10 of my guests only had breakfast. Any attempt to change this to the breakfast price was rejected. WE WILL NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE AGAIN.

Everything tasted delicious and was served quickly and hot. The ambiance was very nice, and it wasn't overly crowded. The service was very friendly; we felt very comfortable and would gladly come back again.

The turkey schnitzel has deteriorated immensely. I have no idea if Del Sol has changed suppliers, but the last three (!) times I've had repeated problems with the quality of the meat (very gristly). The last time it was so inedible that I had to return it! Unfortunately, never again, what a shame...

They were initially forgotten, and after asking, they were given an absolutely unfriendly waitress. Located on a busy street, it's difficult to have a conversation. Ordered a matcha latte with strawberries and was disappointed. Even fast food places like Dunkin' Donuts use more and fresher strawberry puree...

A few days ago, I happened to be back at the cafe. The ambiance and the food completely won me over again. The service, as well as the consistently friendly and courteous service, are highly recommended.

I had problems paying recently... Today, when I placed a new order, there were no more packaging available... What a shame... I tried it today and ordered something to pick up in the parking lot around 7:30 p.m. After 15 minutes, I went back into the restaurant. The order was ready, but there were no more cold bags left, and the pasta mushrooms were missing cheese... It's a shame, but at that price, it's not worth it for cold pasta and schnitzel.

This was our first time there. We both come from the restaurant industry, but something like this? The service was friendly, but one of the drinks wasn't available—it can happen. When the food arrived promptly, it was clearly FRIED, which is a shame. The regular schnitzel, as well as the turkey schnitzel, came from the forgotten fryer. It was very crispy, and the salad was a mini bowl with a very sour dressing. All in all, with a 10% tip for poorly fried food, we paid €58. Why the tip? The young lady was very friendly.

Friendly staff, delicious food, plenty of space

I found some of the employees unfriendly. I ordered a drink that I unfortunately couldn't drink because it contained alcohol. When I asked if I could exchange it for a new one (I didn't drink the alcoholic drink), they said no, even though another employee suggested it was possible. I found it downright disrespectful.

Long waits for food and drinks. Even when it's busy, waiting 20 minutes for drinks and almost 1.5 hours for food is too long for me personally, especially since this isn't super elaborate "haute cuisine." The taste is okay. Special requests (no tomatoes on the burger, extra bacon) weren't carried out. The service staff is very attentive and very friendly, but unfortunately, they can't be everywhere, so you should allow some time for paying. The location has a very nice ambiance.

It's delicious, but if you want more sauce, you have to order it at an extra cost. I have the feeling they used to have more sauce, especially mayo with the fries.

Great. I was there again after 2020 and had an excellent meal. I immediately recreated one of the dishes at home.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The portions were very small (and we're not even big eaters), the children's portions with 3 mini nuggets were a joke, and the sauces tasted exactly like good ready-made food. The Coke consisted mostly of ice cubes. The service, however, was good, and I felt really sorry for having to tell the waitress, when I asked, that we weren't satisfied. The ambiance, too, is absolutely first-class at first glance. Unfortunately, this impression is dashed in the men's restroom (I can't comment on the women's), with its broken doors and limescale-covered faucets. At least the hand dryer was so hot that it probably burned off some germs that hadn't been washed away with the few drops still coming out of the tap.

It was a wonderful breakfast with my loved ones on site.

Brunch, delicious-not exactly cheap

A nice place in itself. Unfortunately, it was quite loud (due, of course, to the nearby traffic). We sat outside; the place was quite quiet at the time, but the background noise was still high. Some tables around us weren't cleaned or cleared for a long time, even though there seemed to be plenty of staff on site. We kept seeing different faces, and apparently no one felt responsible. We also noticed other tables being ignored for a while regarding orders or bills. We were asked twice what we wanted, even though we had already ordered. Someone else brought the food, and the bill was also paid by someone else. Apparently, there are still some issues with the organization, or we just had a bad day. The food was very tasty. Especially the fries! Unfortunately, the schnitzel was very thin, it felt like more breading than meat. I would give it an average rating for value for money. Portions were good and generous but basically nothing special (1xBurger + 1xSchnitzel, small Sprite + small Fanta) we paid just under 44€

The coffee was okay, but €4.30 for a super small cup of cappuccino with oat milk was overpriced. The service wasn't attentive. And it wasn't busy.

After not having been to Café del Sol for a while, and my husband wanting to try it out, we went there for dinner this weekend. My bowl wasn't really a bowl, but rice with a Thai curry. It tasted okay, but I could have gotten an equivalent product for significantly less money and heated it up in the microwave. With a bowl, I expect a base of fresh ingredients. My husband's lasagna was also okay, but here, too, one could have expected more quality, even for a chain restaurant. The service was friendly and did a good job. The atmosphere is pleasant. However, we both had stomach aches after eating at Café del Sol, and the rest of the evening wasn't so enjoyable for us. Conclusion: The value for money wasn't good, and we'll prefer to eat at other restaurants.

Mondays and Tuesdays are pinsa days. Any large pinsa costs €9.90...! It was definitely worth the visit. Everything was beautifully presented, fresh ingredients, and well-filled. This is exactly what pinsa should taste like. Unfortunately, it was a bit cooler this evening, so we decided to sit inside. The atmosphere isn't quite as pleasant, but it's certainly bearable for several hours. The service is friendly and has the relaxed attitude necessary for their profession. The prices are no more expensive or cheaper than at other restaurants.

I cycled to Cafe del Sol for lunch. It wasn't that busy, despite the good weather, and there was a nice spot on the terrace. The service was very friendly and took our order. Drinks arrived very quickly, and the food didn't take long either. I had the pulled turkey burger, which was also delicious. It's a bit of a shame, though, that the meat was only lukewarm. The fries, on the other hand, were very good. The raspberry lemon soda tasted good. But didn't they use to put a sprig of rosemary in it? And wasn't there more than one berry? That might not be so important for the taste, but it's a treat for the eyes. Someone needs to give the washrooms a good clean. There's a lot of dust under the doors and walls. At first glance, everything else here was clean.

I was back at Café del Sol after what felt like 20 years. Barely anything has changed inside. Nice outdoor area, good service, and the prices are reasonable by today's standards.

Yes. It has a great atmosphere. A mix of American (porch with rocking chair) and brewery! Very pleasant. Even 5 minutes before the kitchen closes, you can get delicious food 👍👍👍. Not a given, I'm from Berlin! Attentive and friendly service. See you soon.

Always happy to come back :-) I'm a regular guest, often after a hike or bike ride, and I've never been disappointed. The schnitzel with mushrooms, the baked mini potatoes, and the pinsa caprese are my favorites 😋 Today I had the BBQ pulled turkey burger with fries and raspberry lemon lemonade. Delicious! The burger was nice and juicy, and the fries were hot and crispy, just as they should be. The burger was unfortunately cold, but maybe that was because of the coleslaw? I'd still recommend it! The service here has always been friendly and courteous 😊 I'm already looking forward to the next time.

Conditionally. 3 visits in 2 weeks. Generally long wait times (drinks about 20 minutes), food over 30. Once I received a dirty beer glass, the other time it was cracked at the top and had sharp edges (SEE picture). The temperature of the food was so-so, definitely not hot. Considerable noise even when half the tables were occupied, both inside and out. And blaming it all on the influx of customers, which I didn't realize (original quote: It's very busy today), is a bit of an excuse. The staff were 4 out of 5 friendly.

The concept could use some updating. The seemingly unorganized staff allocation is also confusing. First, no one arrives, then within five minutes, three arrive. It would be better to have dedicated areas with dedicated staff that people can turn to.

A solid franchise restaurant. The food is appropriate. It's not Michelin-starred, but more than run-of-the-mill fast food. Very good value for money. We like going there; the food is excellent all around. Personally, I find the music too loud, but that's subjective. I always have to speak louder than usual during conversations, which isn't very relaxing, but oh well. Otherwise, it's a lovely restaurant with a good selection of delicious, varied dishes, and a place to linger for a while, both inside and outside on the terrace.

Generally, I really like Café del Sol and enjoy eating the Schnitzel del Sol, also known as sambal schnitzel. The food is still of good quality, but the ambiance is less inviting and has also become a bit run-down. Otherwise, I was very satisfied.

Unfortunately, we waited almost 1.5 hours for our food. The food tasted okay. *Edited after your reply*: The restaurant wasn't really busy, so you can't really call it peak time. I don't really want to complain, but rather point out. It can always happen, it was just a shame. I'd also like to mention that we were offered a free dessert as compensation, which was very accommodating!

Unfortunately, a completely disappointing visit. The café wasn't particularly busy, so it wasn't busy or hectic – yet we still had to wait a full 35 minutes before anyone even came to our table. During that time, the tables around us weren't wiped down, which didn't look particularly inviting. When someone finally arrived, the waiter took our order but apparently didn't book it. The result: After waiting over an hour, we still had no food or drinks. Even asking again didn't really improve things. We've now been here for over 1.5 hours and we're still waiting. It's clear that with service like this, hardly any of us will be coming back. It's a real shame – the café itself actually seems quite nice, but the organization and service are currently a disaster. Addendum: We were absolutely NOT invited for a drink and appetizer (as claimed in the reply). And they forgot some of the food we ordered, but we didn't order it again because we weren't in the mood to eat it. The waitress that day couldn't do anything about it, and we tipped her too; that's a matter of organization.

Our visit to Café del Sol in Hildesheim a few days ago was exceptional. The food (the new dishes on the summer menu) was brought to our table very quickly by a very friendly waiter who, when we asked if we could have some more ketchup, quickly rushed to the kitchen and returned to our table with a very positive attitude. Our cocktails were perfectly paired and arrived very quickly. The service staff in general seemed very friendly and attentive. All in all, a very successful "short break" at Café del Sol. We would love to come back!

No matter where you sit, you'll hear loudspeakers blaring all around you. My recommendation would be a couple of corners where you can eat in peace. It's very difficult to have a private conversation unless you're talking loudly. A break to relax is a good idea, since the chain is always at the roundabout. Not really for resting. A first date... not romantic either. Logically, enjoying a meal in peace isn't either. The food is okay, and the frequently changing waiters are always friendly. Criticism or suggestions for improvement are unwelcome.

The restaurant must have had a terrible day for us. Absolutely nothing was right, and it almost ruined a wonderful family day. We waited almost 1.5 hours for our food. Even after repeated inquiries, we were only given a reprimand and no food. The tables next to us, who arrived later, received their food earlier than us. When our food finally arrived, 50% of the 6 meals were incomplete. The best was the "Chicken Bowl," where the chicken was forgotten. The service was also abysmal. We weren't really noticed. If we wanted to reorder a drink, we had to wait until someone came by and responded to us. The table wasn't even cleared. At some point, we decided to move all the dishes from the appetizer and the empty glasses to a neighboring table so we had more space. But even with the new drinks, the old items weren't cleared away. The only positive thing I can mention here is that when we complained to the restaurant manager that nothing was working, they finally registered our reservation, and we received a decent discount on the bill. But even what we paid was still too much. It's a shame for the people who work there. Three of our family members are in the restaurant industry, and we're always very understanding, especially with service staff, and we usually tip a lot. Unfortunately, that really wasn't good for us. But the food wasn't bad at all. It probably would have been better warm. I don't think we'll be going to Café de Sol again. I hope it was just bad luck for us.

I went there last night, and it was a really good experience. It was not too loud; it was rather calm. The staff were really nice and helpful. I got a mango yogurt cake with a strawberry cocktail, and both were great, but the strawberry drink was a little too sweet for my taste. Overall, I recommend Cafe del Sol to everyone.

We were there around lunchtime on a holiday. They offered a buffet – unfortunately, it was very cramped and squashed. But worse was a brazen group of people, around 17 to 20, who blocked the main entrance for over an hour, making themselves comfortable there, and their e-cigarettes constantly produced so much smoke that it looked as if half the place was on fire. Sometimes you couldn't even look out of the window - all you could see were thick clouds of smoke or the gang with their obligatory belt bags... some people found it a bit annoying and strange - when they asked the young service lady, all they said was "they're just normal people, nothing can be done about it". Plus, they start walking around the building at some point - which was probably true - you just wonder why and what they're doing there... you only see clients like that from shisha bars at the main station, in ghetto city corners, etc. For us and some of the guests, it doesn't really fit with the chain's concept - but it will certainly successfully scare away some guests in the future. That's how it goes. Sad.

If you miss subpar American food and microwaved chicken, this is your place. The service was great though.
