I cycled to Cafe del Sol for lunch. It wasn't that busy, despite the good weather, and there was a nice spot on the terrace. The service was very friendly and took our order. Drinks arrived very quickly, and the food didn't take long either. I had the pulled turkey burger, which was also delicious. It's a bit of a shame, though, that the meat was only lukewarm. The fries, on the other hand, were very good. The raspberry lemon soda tasted good. But didn't they use to put a sprig of rosemary in it? And wasn't there more than one berry? That might not be so important for the taste, but it's a treat for the eyes. Someone needs to give the washrooms a good clean. There's a lot of dust under the doors and walls. At first glance, everything else here was clean.

I was back at Café del Sol after what felt like 20 years. Barely anything has changed inside. Nice outdoor area, good service, and the prices are reasonable by today's standards.

Always happy to come back :-) I'm a regular guest, often after a hike or bike ride, and I've never been disappointed. The schnitzel with mushrooms, the baked mini potatoes, and the pinsa caprese are my favorites 😋 Today I had the BBQ pulled turkey burger with fries and raspberry lemon lemonade. Delicious! The burger was nice and juicy, and the fries were hot and crispy, just as they should be. The burger was unfortunately cold, but maybe that was because of the coleslaw? I'd still recommend it! The service here has always been friendly and courteous 😊 I'm already looking forward to the next time.

Conditionally. 3 visits in 2 weeks. Generally long wait times (drinks about 20 minutes), food over 30. Once I received a dirty beer glass, the other time it was cracked at the top and had sharp edges (SEE picture). The temperature of the food was so-so, definitely not hot. Considerable noise even when half the tables were occupied, both inside and out. And blaming it all on the influx of customers, which I didn't realize (original quote: It's very busy today), is a bit of an excuse. The staff were 4 out of 5 friendly.

The concept could use some updating. The seemingly unorganized staff allocation is also confusing. First, no one arrives, then within five minutes, three arrive. It would be better to have dedicated areas with dedicated staff that people can turn to.

Excellent breakfast and lunch brunch. There was something for every taste. Great service and good value for money.

A solid franchise restaurant. The food is appropriate. It's not Michelin-starred, but more than run-of-the-mill fast food. Very good value for money. For our – admittedly very large – group, some small items like sauces were forgotten, which meant we had to wait a long time for them. We like going there; the food is excellent all around. Personally, I find the music too loud, but that's subjective. I always have to speak louder than usual during conversations, which isn't very relaxing, but oh well. Otherwise, it's a lovely restaurant with a good selection of delicious, varied dishes, and a place to linger for a while, both inside and outside on the terrace.

Generally, I really like Café del Sol and enjoy eating the Schnitzel del Sol, also known as sambal schnitzel. The food is still of good quality, but the ambiance is less inviting and has also become a bit run-down. Otherwise, I was very satisfied.

Unfortunately, a completely disappointing visit. The café wasn't particularly busy, so it wasn't busy or hectic – yet we still had to wait a full 35 minutes before anyone even came to our table. During that time, the tables around us weren't wiped down, which didn't look particularly inviting. When someone finally arrived, the waiter took our order but apparently didn't book it. The result: After waiting over an hour, we still had no food or drinks. Even asking again didn't really improve things. We've now been here for over 1.5 hours and we're still waiting. It's clear that with service like this, hardly any of us will be coming back. It's a real shame – the café itself actually seems quite nice, but the organization and service are currently a disaster. Addendum: We were absolutely NOT invited for a drink and appetizer (as claimed in the reply). And they forgot some of the food we ordered, but we didn't order it again because we weren't in the mood to eat it. The waitress that day couldn't do anything about it, and we tipped her too; that's a matter of organization.

Our visit to Café del Sol in Hildesheim a few days ago was exceptional. The food (the new dishes on the summer menu) was brought to our table very quickly by a very friendly waiter who, when we asked if we could have some more ketchup, quickly rushed to the kitchen and returned to our table with a very positive attitude. Our cocktails were perfectly paired and arrived very quickly. The service staff in general seemed very friendly and attentive. All in all, a very successful "short break" at Café del Sol. We would love to come back!

Unfortunately, we waited almost 1.5 hours for our food. The food tasted okay. *Edited after your reply*: The restaurant wasn't really busy, so you can't really call it peak time. I don't really want to complain, but rather point out. It can always happen, it was just a shame. I'd also like to mention that we were offered a free dessert as compensation, which was very accommodating!

No matter where you sit, you'll hear loudspeakers blaring all around you. My recommendation would be a couple of corners where you can eat in peace. It's very difficult to have a private conversation unless you're talking loudly. A break to relax is a good idea, since the chain is always at the roundabout. Not really for resting. A first date... not romantic either. Logically, enjoying a meal in peace isn't either. The food is okay, and the frequently changing waiters are always friendly. Criticism or suggestions for improvement are unwelcome.

The restaurant must have had a terrible day for us. Absolutely nothing was right, and it almost ruined a wonderful family day. We waited almost 1.5 hours for our food. Even after repeated inquiries, we were only given a reprimand and no food. The tables next to us, who arrived later, received their food earlier than us. When our food finally arrived, 50% of the 6 meals were incomplete. The best was the "Chicken Bowl," where the chicken was forgotten. The service was also abysmal. We weren't really noticed. If we wanted to reorder a drink, we had to wait until someone came by and responded to us. The table wasn't even cleared. At some point, we decided to move all the dishes from the appetizer and the empty glasses to a neighboring table so we had more space. But even with the new drinks, the old items weren't cleared away. The only positive thing I can mention here is that when we complained to the restaurant manager that nothing was working, they finally registered our reservation, and we received a decent discount on the bill. But even what we paid was still too much. It's a shame for the people who work there. Three of our family members are in the restaurant industry, and we're always very understanding, especially with service staff, and we usually tip a lot. Unfortunately, that really wasn't good for us. But the food wasn't bad at all. It probably would have been better warm. I don't think we'll be going to Café de Sol again. I hope it was just bad luck for us.

I went there last night, and it was a really good experience. It was not too loud; it was rather calm. The staff were really nice and helpful. I got a mango yogurt cake with a strawberry cocktail, and both were great, but the strawberry drink was a little too sweet for my taste. Overall, I recommend Cafe del Sol to everyone.

We were there around lunchtime on a holiday. They offered a buffet – unfortunately, it was very cramped and squashed. But worse was a brazen group of people, around 17 to 20, who blocked the main entrance for over an hour, making themselves comfortable there, and their e-cigarettes constantly produced so much smoke that it looked as if half the place was on fire. Sometimes you couldn't even look out of the window - all you could see were thick clouds of smoke or the gang with their obligatory belt bags... some people found it a bit annoying and strange - when they asked the young service lady, all they said was "they're just normal people, nothing can be done about it". Plus, they start walking around the building at some point - which was probably true - you just wonder why and what they're doing there... you only see clients like that from shisha bars at the main station, in ghetto city corners, etc. For us and some of the guests, it doesn't really fit with the chain's concept - but it will certainly successfully scare away some guests in the future. That's how it goes. Sad.

If you miss subpar American food and microwaved chicken, this is your place. The service was great though.

A decent selection, with brunch starting at 9 a.m. and hot dishes that change from week to week, featuring delicious, high-quality products. A cozy atmosphere, service always friendly and promptly clearing away used cutlery and place settings. Our favorite brunch spot for years.

Café Del Sol in Hildesheim offers a very pleasant atmosphere with a stylish ambiance and plenty of space. The menu is diverse – from breakfast to cocktails, there's something for everyone. I particularly liked the friendly and quick service. A small point deduction because it can get quite crowded and a bit noisy during peak times. Nevertheless, it's a lovely place to relax and enjoy yourself – I'd happily return!

Unfortunately, not all meals were delivered at the same time, the salad was forgotten and the small glass of water that I asked for to take the pills was forgotten. Tl;dr: Food was still good, service wasn't convincing today.

I was there years ago and the food and drink was delicious

We were here on a Monday at 6 p.m. for a “schnitzel vacation” and were very disappointed this time, even though we have been guests before. Even the start was bumpy: we had to wait 35 minutes for our drinks, and the food took a whole hour to arrive. When we finally wanted to order a second round, we were initially turned away - on the grounds that the boss didn't want it and we would have to wait a little longer. The second portion came after another 40 minutes - and to our disappointment we were only served a very small schnitzel. After that we honestly didn't feel like staying any longer. Also a shame: the lemonade, which was previously served fresh and lovingly with fruit, is now only available with soda and syrup - but continuing to charge almost €7 for it is really not justified. Overall, this visit was unfortunately very disappointing.

Was there with the family (2 adults, 2 children), placed the order after 20 minutes, after 45 minutes the food unfortunately came out of 4, 2 were wrong, so we couldn't eat together, and at the end we were charged for a schnitzel more than we consumed. So this time it was a failure...

It is important to us that we are also welcome with dogs. In addition, very friendly service, fast service and delicious food.

We would like to thank you for this great meal and would love to come back! —————————— Visit on April 15, 2025 We (6 people) went to Café del Sol for a schnitzel holiday at 6 p.m. today. Unfortunately it was a complete disappointment. At the beginning we had to wait over half an hour for a drink and couldn't order our food until around 6:30 p.m. We had to wait over 45 minutes for the first round of our schnitzels, so we were able to eat around 7:20 p.m. (it should be noted that the shop was busy but not fully booked or overcrowded). Furthermore, a dish was forgotten so we had to wait for it again (approx. 10 minutes). We couldn't reorder until around 8 p.m. and had to wait about an hour for the second round. By then we had long since lost our desire for the next schnitzel. The service was friendly but not attentive so we had to ask several times when the drinks or food would arrive. In our opinion, it would have been appropriate to accommodate the bill (due to the long waiting times and the forgotten dish). Unfortunately, this was not offered by the restaurant. All in all, a very disappointing and poorly remembered visit. Too bad!

Today I was in Hildesheim with my sister, in the very tastefully and comfortably furnished restaurant "Cafe Del Sol", which is located on Frankenstrasse. We ate a "Pinsa Serano", it consisted of a very crispy dough, which is why we were thankfully given pizza scissors. The topping consisted of tomato sauce, mozzarella, Gouda, Serano ham, the Italian hard cheese Grana Pandano, oregano, basil oil and coarse pepper. We really enjoyed the “Pinsa Serano”. The waitress was very friendly and served us well. However, the Cafe Del Sol in Hildesheim is not a fast food restaurant, you have to bring some time with you, the dishes are freshly prepared, then you will also like it in the "Cafe Del Sol". 💕💕💕🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

In the afternoon at 5 p.m. Nothing going on. Employees are running around clearing tables. After 20 minutes still no order was taken. Eye contact was consistently avoided. Ok, you can do it 🤷‍♀️. We left. There are other locations too.

We would be seated at a table where there were leftovers from the previous visitor. Which isn't actually a bad thing if it was cleared away straight away. But we would have to wait several minutes for that and not everything was taken at once, although that was possible. The table would not be wiped at all. Really not nice. But the food was great.

Unfortunately, parking is a bit difficult here. While the parking lot is large, it's also used by people who aren't staying at the restaurant. Therefore, it gets very crowded, and you may have to wait or use other parking spaces. The ambiance is amazing in all the restaurants in this chain. It's clean and tidy. The service was friendly and attentive. Since I only had a hot chocolate, I can't comment on the food, but the hot chocolate was very tasty. The prices are reasonable.

Last Thursday my wife and I had dinner at Café del Sol in Hildesheim. She ate a burger and I ordered the “holiday” schnitzel. The restaurant was moderately full; it was 5:10 p.m. The wait for the drinks was 20 minutes. The wait for the first dish was 45 minutes. Ordering another schnitzel took another 40 minutes (the schnitzel was only a quarter the size of the first one). After we decided not to order another schnitzel due to the long wait, we wanted the bill. We also had to wait 20 minutes for that. It is absolutely outrageous to make such an offer and then not be able to keep it. The entire staff was completely overwhelmed. The overall quality was poor.

We've always enjoyed coming here, but now you have to wait almost an hour for the food, and it's cold too :(. If that happens when you're stressed, that would be understandable, but it's happened several times now. There was no response to my complaints. It's a real shame.

Unfortunately, the service is now similar to a self-service restaurant, food is delivered without having cutlery at the table. You can observe how customers approach the service staff instead of being served in the traditional way. The food we ordered first had the wrong side dish, but on the second attempt the second side dish was still missing. So it's not fun to eat there

After sitting there for 40 minutes, someone from service actually came to take our order. Unfortunately not voluntarily, but only after repeated, encouraging eye contact. The restaurant wasn't even full, so I can't understand this fact. But the service staff can pretend to be busy and gather three people at one of the monitors to have a conversation instead of taking care of the guests and orders. At least the food we ordered came after about 10 minutes. But the drinks took longer and only came after I had to ask for them at the bar after 20 minutes. Unfortunately there was only one spoon at the table with which the schnitzels we ordered couldn't be eaten, so we had to look for someone again. Then exactly 2 forks and knives were placed there. Luckily we didn't order any soup or dessert. Otherwise I would have had to look for someone again for cutlery. At least the schnitzels tasted good, but the menu shows a salad. We received a small bowl in which there were 3 leaves of lettuce and a slice of a cocktail tomato in dressing. When you praise salad as a dish on the menu, you actually assume that it has more than just decoration. Especially since the dish costs almost 20 euros! Best of all, a full teaspoon of mayo was added to the fries. This will be charged extra at €0.50. Congratulations to whoever does the calculation. “We value selected ingredients” will definitely be the answer to this again. Even if it was homemade (which it wasn't), that's a waste of money for a small teaspoon full of mayo. Or what's in there? Condo eggs and hand-pressed oil from a small farm in Italy, where the farmer personally delivers the oil to Hildesheim by bike? Conclusion: too expensive for what is on offer, staff friendly but listless or overwhelmed, food is OK but not enough snack bar level. You can certainly understand that there was no tip.

Noisy dining hall and the brunch buffet is no longer as lavish and extensive. Salmon is not refilled even after asking twice. It seems as if time is stretched. Edit: Got 2nd chance and after 30 minutes without drinks we left. That's it for the store. If you can't accommodate that many people, you should provide fewer tables. Disgraceful and completely overloaded.

At the moment there are schnitzel dishes again. It takes a while until the ordered schnitzel is served, but it tastes very good. The service is friendly and attentive. The only thing that's a shame is that the flames are no longer on, so Café Del Sol's own sign is no longer lit. The best thing about sitting outside was the flames and the heat mushrooms.

Everyone should know the de Sol and have their own opinion about it. Perfect concept, perfect entrepreneurial performance. This goes hand in hand with convenience cuisine and excessive prices. Great for meeting and talking. Eat something while you're at it, just like that...

So I don't like your self-promoting pricing policy at all! Why do you have to order the side dishes separately for the main courses and of course pay extra? What is presented here as an additional, customer-friendly choice is in reality just a hidden price increase! I also find it exaggerated that when describing the main course (for example the burgers) every insignificant lettuce leaf and every small slice of cucumber is listed individually. Should things that are taken for granted be presented as something special? And if we really take it seriously, instead of the specified tomato, of course only a slice of tomato is served. I ordered chili cheese fries as a side dish. In the end, these were a few regular fries swimming in a mess of sauce! There was no trace of the chili con carne listed! The meals should have been larger and cheaper. Conclusion: Price-performance ratio is absolutely inadequate!

I used to really love this place, but now the quality has deteriorated significantly. The food is getting worse every time and the prices have been increased several times and by unreasonable amounts in the last two years. Our last visit during the “schnitzel vacation” was particularly disappointing. The idea may be good, but it doesn't work in practice - it takes FOREVER before you can order a new schnitzel because the staff simply can't keep up. With many years of experience in the catering industry, I have particularly noticed many deficiencies: • The waiters seem overwhelmed, running back and forth hectically and almost colliding with guests. • For us, the food even came before the drinks + no cutlery – an absolute no-go! • The waiters had no idea about portion sizes and therefore couldn't give us proper advice. • Someone wanted to clear our table even though we were still eating. • Anyone who doesn't tip will be greeted with an annoyed eye roll. I know from my own experience how demanding working in the catering industry is. I feel all the more sorry for the employees who are obviously poorly trained and then make numerous mistakes under stress. My point of criticism is therefore not directed at the staff themselves, but at the management, which is clearly failing here. In summary, I can unfortunately say: This restaurant used to be really great, but now it's just disappointing. I won't come back again.

I've been to Cafe Del Sol several times now and unfortunately I see that the quality has deteriorated significantly. Prices have risen so much in recent years and quality has declined sharply. THE FOOD AND DRINKS: We ate schnitzel. What drew me to the store in the past was the consistent quality and people were willing to pay a certain price for that. The meat is no longer of the same quality as it used to be and unfortunately is more similar to what you get today at other fast food chains such as McDonald's, Burger King, etc. The food was also served much nicer. What bothers me personally is the composition of the food and sauce, as I usually have the feeling that the sauce is skimped on and the food appears too dry. The drinks have received another significant price increase. If you know anything about the catering industry, you know that the companies make their profit from the drinks. Combined with the fact that the food is sometimes borderline dry, I sometimes get the feeling that maybe it's intentionally dry so that you can sell the customer even more drinks. The drinks themselves are very tasty, but very expensive. THE SERVICE: It often happens that you have to wait a long time for a waiter to be served. The service staff often appear very stressed. It seems as if the waiters were not properly trained. Rolling your eyes in annoyance when you don't tip isn't necessarily polite either. There are guests who didn't enjoy their stay and that's completely okay. Getting your food before your drink is another negative aspect and shouldn't actually happen. However, this is not a problem with the service staff but with the general organization. Overall, I don't want to tackle the employees either, because it seems to me that this seems to be more of a management problem. THE AMBIENCE: Of course, many personal preferences come into play when it comes to the ambience. For me it feels like you're sitting in a train station when the store is full because it's extremely loud. I think it's also due to the high ceilings, which are not good if you want to minimize sound. CONCLUSION: Overall, I find a concept like Cafe Del Sol appealing IF it's done right. The prices, the quality, the service and the ambience are now too high for me personally. Therefore, this was our last visit to Cafe Del Sol today. I really hope that someone would take some time and rework the concept.

The schnitzel is breaded and delivered frozen. So don't bread it yourself on site. That's how it tastes too. And for almost 19 euros. Never again. Terrible. You are a system catering company. Personal tip: At the Landgasthaus Willke in Borsum you can get a delicious and freshly breaded schnitzel for the same price. The way to Borsum is worth it :) I really like eating schnitzel there :)

For me, the Café Del Sol chain is a pleasant place to go for a good breakfast buffet. It is very large, so you have a good chance of getting an unreserved seat. You can sit inside or outside. The service is very nice. I always enjoy coming back here.

The food was delicious, highly recommended. It was my first time here and I had a BBQ bacon burger that tasted really good. I was also very positively surprised by the ordering process, as you can also do this at the table using a QR code and save yourself the annoying social contact if you don't want to. Really great!

Very good place and food is unique Staff very friendly

On Christmas Eve there was only brunch for dinner. The extensive menus are long on the table. If brunch was too much for you, you couldn't get anything else. Even a small soup was not served. That's not possible, you should at least point it out. I never enter the store again, especially since I only ordered a tea and took a small snack out of my bag to eat with it. It felt like the entire staff was watching me and I was immediately told not to eat!

The location was great, the food was also very tasty. However, we had the impression that we were constantly forgotten because we always had to ask where the drinks were and after waiting for over an hour we also had to ask about the food. Even though the food was very tasty, it only arrived lukewarm. That was a shame because the rest of it was really great. Nevertheless, the staff was friendly.

Average food, nothing special. Unfortunately, the food was only lukewarm, not really hot. All around good for a small bag. Unfortunately, the drinks are watery and the apple spritzer still needs some work. Parking works well.

The food, service and ambience are very good. We'll definitely come back. It's been a while since I wrote this review and unfortunately I had a completely different experience a few days ago. Noodles were served cold, not a word of apology but words like...yes, we're stressed right now, something like that just doesn't work. Pasta was heated in the microwave and stuck together and that's not possible. I'm super horrified...an absolute no-go
