We went there for Sunday brunch. The food was delicious as always. The service was friendly and attentive. 5***** stars. PS: It's become too expensive these days, and the menu is smaller.

A very nice restaurant with delicious food. However, it takes a relatively long time for a server to arrive, as the restaurant is very large and has many tables. Depending on the occupancy, the wait may be longer.

Very tasty food, nice ambiance, and easy to reach. It's also a great place to go with children. The portions are just right, or rather, enough to fit dessert in. :-) Update: The staff and kitchen have apparently changed. The sauces tasted overcooked, the special burger had minimal toppings, and the side salad was no bigger than four forks. We didn't like it at all this time. Only the fries and the kids' meals were good. It wasn't busy, but we rarely saw anyone waiting, and the six of us shared three menus.

I've always enjoyed going there, but since I haven't been able to reserve a table for the second time due to a lack of staff (walk-ins are also no longer possible), I won't be going again. Staff shortages can happen, but here it's unfortunately become a permanent condition, and I don't support that. Addendum: I went there again and wasn't turned away, but was served in a friendly and attentive manner. Apparently, the staffing shortage is over.

We recently went there with my girls. The ambiance, the decor, the food, the cocktails—everything was fantastic :) The service was also very friendly, we felt very comfortable, and I wondered why I had never been here before. It's definitely worth a visit!

I've been coming to this place for many years. But now they serve 100% convenience products, no matter what you order. That's a real shame. They used to make pizza and tarte flambée from fresh dough, prepared in front of the customers, and baked in the large black oven directly to the left of the entrance door. It had a handle and was incredibly delicious. Now they've switched to frozen pinsa pastries, which are then baked and topped. The schnitzels, too, were also ready-made, but now the size and quality have dropped again. However, the price has gone up. This is evident throughout the entire menu. The drink prices are unrealistic, almost outrageous. Charging €7.40 for a 0.75L bottle of Gerolsteiner mineral water and €8.10 for Pellegrino is something you only find here. I'll only visit here if I'm meeting up with friends; I'll eat at home beforehand. It's cheaper and, above all, better. My motto is: when I go out, don't eat worse than at home. Everyone can decide for themselves.

I used to go there often for cheap alcoholic cocktails and lovely evenings. I have to say, it used to be much better. But I was there twice recently and I highly recommend the friendly atmosphere. My favorite schnitzel (Schnitzel del Sol) used to be much bigger and cheaper, but here the price-performance ratio isn't right. The taste is still great, though. I'm giving you full marks because I want to commend you. But please improve and offer customers decent value for money.

Unfortunately, the food is mostly convenience food and mass-produced. Tables for weekend brunch are reserved twice in different slots, which isn't really brunch anymore, but simply a money-grab, and you feel completely rushed while eating... Drinks are also overpriced, and at the price of brunch, a drink would be welcome, if it's included.

The food tasted like it had been reheated; it was lukewarm. The mushrooms in the Funghi Rigatoni were from a can!

Hello, we only had breakfast, but the breakfast selection and variety, given the price, were more than satisfactory. It would be nice if they also offered a flat rate for coffee.

Today, while eating at Café del Sol in Hanau, we unfortunately had a very negative experience, even though the number of guests was very limited. There were a few tables inside, but the outside was busy. Now for the problem. First, two meals were completely forgotten. Microwaved pasta was used. The tomato sauce was a warmed-up salsa. Dried-out cucumbers were used on the burger. The salad was simply missing the dressing. One meal was ordered without tomatoes but arrived with them. The service was very, very friendly and very attentive, which I didn't want to let go unnoticed. So, my conclusion from today's visit: For these prices, you naturally expect quality, freshness, and the order to be delivered as ordered. Things can always go wrong, but this was just terrible. Unfortunately. Sorry :-(

We always enjoy coming here. Especially in summer, with the outdoor terrace, it really does have a holiday feel. Unfortunately, it can be quite noisy inside at times. But the service definitely makes up for it. Great advice and always friendly, with a smile on their face.

Typical Café del Sol, very friendly staff

Unfortunately, Café del Sol isn't what it used to be. Four orders were served incorrectly for four people. Portions are getting smaller, and prices are rising. The quality of the dishes resembles frozen food. The staff also seems understaffed. Something urgently needs to be done.

We actually came for breakfast and ended up sitting until the afternoon. No hello, no good morning, just a "what the heck" from the visibly unmotivated waitress. We waited an hour for drinks because it wasn't busy, and while ordering, the waitress made silly comments. We had plenty of time to observe the situation... many were disappointed with their food. Others didn't get their side salad, and still others didn't get their lunch at the same time. English should also play a role in the service, but unfortunately, no one was fluent enough to serve two other people. They waited over an hour for two iced teas... which gave many people the reason to simply shake their heads and accept the process. You also had to allow a lot of time to pay; despite calling attention to yourself, you were simply ignored. Some of the outdoor furniture should be refurbished or replaced; they're falling apart (chair legs). So, for the money you spend, it's not worth it. Too expensive for such poor service.

Stopped in this afternoon for a coffee. The place looks nice. Since there's nothing else nearby, but I had to wait for another appointment nearby, I thought I'd go in despite the mixed reviews. A coffee should be enough... I went to the bar inside and pointedly told a friendly employee that I'd be sitting outside in front of the main entrance at one of the seats (wooden chairs). She confirmed this. Conclusion: After 20 minutes, no one came to take my order. I went back to the same employee at the bar and pointed out that I was actually there to order something and that I found the wait a bit unusual. The initially friendly employee then reacted quite reservedly and asked what I wanted to order. Not a word about the wait. No professional "sorry" or similar comments. Sorry, I haven't experienced that in years. I then left and forfeited my order. The store wasn't crowded, and several employees seemed very relaxed. Therefore, I was completely confused. A very bad first and definitely last impression. Sometimes the reviews aren't misleading.

I was a frequent customer at Café del Sol in Lübeck or Hamburg. The difference in quality is cosmic. Some dishes were inedible. The staff wanders around aimlessly. It's a disaster, and I wouldn't recommend this Café del Sol. The ones in Lübeck and Hamburg are. Send these people to some training or something.

I visited Café del Sol for the first time in a long time. I loved the food, and the service was also very friendly. I'll definitely be back.

I'm sorry, that was a complete disaster....food (burgers and schnitzel) fried to death, lukewarm and too salty...complaint was ignored with a shrug...dirty tables and cutlery, service staff apparently not trained, all running around in a wild mess, complete chaos...and not exactly cheap...once and never again, what a pity, we were looking forward to a nice evening

We were there on Saturday late afternoon and evening and really enjoyed it. It was pleasantly quiet and not very busy. The service was attentive and friendly. We were asked several times if we wanted anything else, but it wasn't intrusive. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the quality was impressive. The prices are on the higher side. What we noticed: The interior is a bit dated, and the restrooms need a renovation. Some doors don't lock properly anymore. Overall, we had a nice visit and would come back.

Cafe del Sol is a restaurant and café chain with a wide selection of food and drinks. Driving past, we spontaneously decided to stop in. We were thrilled by the ambiance (at least at first glance). Only after we were seated did we look at the (fairly poor) reviews, hoping to get a better impression of this restaurant than many previous guests. We still had a glimmer of hope, as all negative reviews were always answered very warmly and promised improvements. Unfortunately, our visit wasn't particularly pleasant. The service was clearly not adequately trained from the very first contact. Our first drinks were brought to the wrong table, and we waited in vain for the second drink order (the drink was later added to the bill). For mineral water for €3.40, I'd expect it to be poured at the table. The non-alcoholic wheat beer for €5.60 also comes as a bottle with an empty glass. Unfortunately, the food was also disappointing. The Caesar salad was drowned in a bland, mayonnaise-flavored sauce and wasn't at all visually appealing and tasted bland. The croutons were unfortunately not crispy either. And the currywurst with sweet potato fries didn't impress us either. At €13.10, you simply expect better quality. A second glance put our initial, very good impression of the ambiance into perspective. The sofa at the next table was already falling apart and didn't look very pleasant. A beautiful location alone isn't enough for us to come back. It would be nice if the owners would actually take the bad reviews as an opportunity to improve the service and cuisine. Constantly promising improvements isn't enough...

We stopped there after a hike, and it was truly amazing. The food was top-notch, the service was excellent, and the value for money was also good.

We go to this restaurant quite often and have always been satisfied. Unfortunately, today there was a particular waiter who doesn't greet us when we arrive or leave, doesn't say "hello," "thank you," or "goodbye" – let alone "please." Politeness seems to be a foreign concept to him. We paid, and without asking for change, the waiter simply pocketed the money and left, as if it were a given that we didn't want change. Only when we asked again did he say he had "heard" that the rest was correct. But that was definitely not the case. Even after that, there was no apology or even a polite farewell. Of course, there are bad days, but this was very strange for us as understanding guests. It's a shame, because we really like the restaurant itself. But this disrespectful behavior unfortunately significantly spoils the experience.

Two days ago, I was at the Café del Sol Hanau with a friend for a very long stay. As usual, the ambiance on the veranda was very nice. When we arrived, it was very busy, but someone came quickly to take our order, and the wait was absolutely fine. The same goes for the food order (the food was very tasty, by the way). Even in between, someone came by every now and then to ask if everything was okay. All of this justifies the average of three stars. Because what you should definitely avoid—at least as a woman—is using the restroom. The smell was absolutely awful upon entering; there was toilet paper all over the floor, the toilet brush holder was smeared with feces, and one of the two sinks was half-submerged (probably clogged?!?). You just don't dare touch ANYTHING. Absolutely terrible! This needs urgent improvement!

The atmosphere is cool thanks to its very open layout. The couches are pretty worn, though. The veggie burgers are a decent size. The service is friendly.

Very, very, very expensive. We went there for brunch with two adults and two children, and even though one of the children paid half price, it still came to €40 per person. That can't be justified with "joie de vivre"... It's outrageous. This will be the last time for us.

The freshly squeezed orange juice on the menu is way overpriced, you also get ordinary juice from a tetrapak, not real squeezed orange juice as it says on the menu. The garden is has a nice view. Would not recommend.

I always enjoy coming here! Even if the service sometimes takes a bit of a while, the food is always delicious. I miss the vegan yogurt at the breakfast buffet, but otherwise, the vegan à la carte selection is really good.

The food is frozen and sometimes tastes awful. And while I don't go there often, every time I do, the staff drops dishes or glasses. Mistakes happen, of course, but it borders on incompetence when you hear them bang five times per visit. The manager should probably take action... it ruins the nice atmosphere.

Super delicious food, beautiful surroundings, great service

The food was delicious. Our waitress, Dannii, was very unfriendly. After several requests for drinks or to pay, she didn't respond for almost 45 minutes. We were treated condescendingly in every conversation. As nice as everything is, we won't come here anymore for these reasons.

The Classic Hamburger isn't recommended. The meat isn't particularly good and tastes worse than homemade. The price/performance ratio isn't right at all. I'd rather have the Special Burger. It's a bit better value for money. The fries were very good and the atmosphere was nice. The service could be a bit more attentive.

Ich bewerte hier 2 Besuche. 1. Besuch mit 7 Personen. Ambiente OK. Service nicht in Ordnung. . Pommes und Saucen wurden in falscher Anzahl serviert und doppelt berechnet. Trotzdem gaben wir dem Restaurant noch eine Chance. 2. Besuch mit zwei Personen in der der Mittagszeit am 11.06.25 Getränkebestellung nach langer Wartezeit. Bei der Bestellung des Essens wurden wir ignoriert. Nach 30 min haben wir aufgegeben , nach einiger Anstrengung konnten wir bezahlen und das Restaurant hungrig verlassen. Wir werden nicht mehr wiederkommen und auch keine Empfehlung aussprechen.

The actual focus still has room for improvement, but is almost compensated for by the truly dedicated service and the American-inspired flair. The breakfast selection is overall too meager considering the price! Bread roll selection is unfortunately quite poor, and we also missed a small herb bar with parsley, chives, etc. The service deserves special mention; we once had a very courteous, friendly young lady (brown hair) on the late shift, and a very helpful and kind young lady (blonde) in the morning. Both were also very child-friendly, even the children noticed this positively. We also liked the music selection in the morning (chilling Jack Johnson guitar sounds, etc.). Overall, a very relaxed atmosphere, and the clientele fits well with that. If the food and menu are improved a bit, this would be a completely well-rounded concept :)

Terrible. The pinsa was cold and rock-hard. It looked like a pizza from the cafeteria. The Belgian waffle was also cold and was a ready-made product, not freshly made, which was very disappointing. After we asked for the bill, the waiter made us wait 10 minutes and never showed up again. I wouldn't recommend it.

Since I suffer from lactose intolerance and could barely eat anything at brunch, they quickly prepared me scrambled eggs without milk. The service was super friendly, especially from the nice lady who took care of my scrambled eggs. It was simply worth its weight in gold. Kudos!

Expensive and long wait times. The food was very tasty, but the portion sizes weren't particularly large for the price. We were asked immediately after the drinks were brought if we wanted to order, but we weren't ready. It took 20 minutes for someone to come back, and the first few drinks were already empty, but no one came to check. The wait for the food was okay, but afterward, no one came because of the obviously empty drinks, dessert, or bill. We then went up to the front to pay. Our neighbor's table had the same problem. It's been an absolutely beautiful location with a Florida flair for years. I find it a great place to eat and socialize, both during the day and in the evening. The cocktails leave a lot to be desired, but everything else is great there.

The schnitzels were quite small, the sauce was very spicy, and the salad was past its best. The sweet potato fries were tasty, but nothing particularly warm. Creme brulee was okay, but the sugar was much too dark, making it bitter. Service? It was almost nonexistent. The staff preferred to eat ice cream and take selfies at the counter. We waited at least 30-40 minutes between schnitzel and dessert before anyone even came. They also didn't ask if everything was okay or anything like that, as you'd expect. Instead, the staff chatted very animatedly and loudly among themselves. Once and never again.

I've been to several branches, but this one was the worst. The schnitzel was okay at lunch. Some of it looked like it was yesterday 🤨 Service was friendly, but the wait times were very, very long, even though it was quiet. After the schnitzel, we had to wait about 45 minutes until we called someone for dessert. Then we had to wait another 30 minutes after that, and no one came to ask if everything was okay or if we could get anything else. People sat at the counter, spooned ice cream, and chatted with colleagues instead of serving the customers, and one waitress was left to do everything by herself! After having to call another waitress to pay, we had to wait another 20 minutes. So, service is very low here... we won't be coming back! The only positive thing is the ambiance; it's nicely decorated and has plenty of space for lots of guests.

The service was good and the facilities are very good with a large terrace where it is quiet and without the hassle of noise at night and many people around the facilities. The only drawback is that about 15 people gathered on the terrace and they did not allow us to be there, inviting us to go inside or sit somewhere else on the terrace, arguing that the floor was at risk of collapsing due to the weight concentrated in one place. From my point of view it means that these facilities are safe and that we will not be able to go there at the next family gatherings.

Nice restaurant with an inviting outdoor area, but the burgers we ordered were really subpar. The burgers, obviously inspired by a GDR Griletta, were brought without the additional toppings ordered, no lettuce or onions on the burger and the patty, which was obviously purchased as a convenience product, was more than fried and hard. The other toppings (cucumber and tomatoes) were cut much too thick at >1cm. The homemade iced tea was delicious and the service staff tried to save the order. My tip: fresh burger patties or the correct cooking level and even if it's just for the eye, a little lettuce on the burger as standard!

I almost had to cry when I saw this sad shape of a burger placed on my table. The only thing I can highlight positively was the sun and the nice service who tried to save the disaster. This was by far one of the strangest “burgers” I have ever eaten. I don't want to experience something like that again. Bye.

What a nice cafe, you can sit outside, but the covered terrace makes it independent of the weather. The map is clear but attractive. Whether you're hungry or big, everyone will find something. And when you're with Lara, you feel really important and taken seriously as a customer. Very friendly and thoughtful. Definitely going there again. Mega.

Lots of places inside and outside. Unfortunately, several employees walked past us. Apparently certain people are assigned to certain tasks. We had an appointment and didn't have much time. Otherwise there shouldn't be any problems here. With pizza and salad you can also order half for half the price, which I thought was great! Here I drank the first sweet red wine in my life. Not mine! But it's also on the map. But I expected something different from sweet. The food was all good but not spectacular. The meat dishes are probably better. Otherwise the atmosphere is very nice. Enough parking spaces behind the building.

The Cafe del Sol in Hanau offers a great culinary experience with a very good selection of dishes. The food was really great and really suited my taste. I would particularly like to highlight the waitress Aci, who made the visit even more pleasant with her dessert recommendations. She was friendly, attentive and went out of her way to ensure we had a good time. The atmosphere in the cafe is relaxed and inviting. Overall, I can highly recommend Cafe del Sol in Hanau, especially for anyone who appreciates good food and friendly service. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

I recently went to Cafe del Sol in Hanau and absolutely loved it! The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting - perfect for spending a nice evening with friends or simply escaping everyday life. A very special thank you goes to Aci, our server that evening. Not only was she super friendly and attentive, but she also had a real knack for desserts! Her recommendations were a hit - especially the dessert she recommended to us was simply heavenly. You can immediately tell that she is passionate about what she does and enjoys her job. Thanks to Aci, our visit was a completely successful experience. We will definitely be back – and are already looking forward to the next dessert recommendation!

1 star I don't understand how this place is even run. We were just there - the food was an absolute disappointment and not worth a cent. The hamburger was rock hard and hard to chew, and the fries were also way too hard. The lasagna was cold and completely tasteless. The only bright spot: the soft drinks were okay. But: never again! I can really only advise against eating there - otherwise your money will be lost.

We actually go to Cafe del Sol quite often. It's a lovely location; the food is good and the service is quite friendly. We always avoid long waits for the food to arrive. This time too it took over 40 minutes. On Saturday afternoon there were few guests, but some service employees. The lack of attention from the service is annoying. Other than ordering and food delivery, there was no attention. We sat in front of empty first glasses and were unable to order a second drink as we were ignored. The dishes were left on our table for 15 minutes after dinner. We actually wanted dessert, but we decided not to. Afterwards we had to go to the counter to point out that we wanted to pay. Even then we had to wait another 10 minutes before we could pay. In the end, such behavior destroys the mood. Too bad

Basically nice location. Breakfast buffet varied and delicious. However, the service is not available. Despite asking, we sat in front of a stack of empty plates until the end. Further orders were not asked at the table either. The floor at the egg station was very dirty. Nobody felt responsible for this either. The women's toilet smelled strongly of urine.

I think it's great here, whether for eating, drinking, a business lunch or a romantic date.

When I reordered the schnitzel (schnitzel vacation) I waited another hour. This is really a bad joke

The service is catastrophic. People rarely look after you and it only clears up after half an hour, even though there wasn't even a lot of customers. The blonde waitress with the tattooed eyebrows is extremely unfriendly, sighs as she takes our order and speaks with an annoyed, passive aggressive tone. Unfortunately we didn't feel welcome and will leave it at the first visit. Really a shame!

Location looks cool, but that's about it on the positive side. There was no staff, long waiting times. On the subject of food, if you want to have diarrhea for 2 days you have to test the lasagna. It really cleans out the intestinal tract.

The breakfast buffet is highly recommended, varied selection, super fresh and beautifully presented. Unfortunately the service is not good, you wait forever until you can order your drinks. They charge 70 cents for the oat drink in coffee, which I no longer think is appropriate these days. Should be standard that you can choose 🙂‍↕️

We were there for lunch. We still got drinks, but you have to really work hard to order food. After ordering 5 meals we had to wait over 1 hour. I could see very clearly that the food was under the heat lamp and had not been picked up. Getting more drinks also required further effort. How this restaurant still has customers is a mystery to me.

Unfortunately, our visit to this restaurant was disappointing. A schnitzel without breading was not available - probably because of the use of ready-made products. The waiting time for the food was around an hour, while guests who arrived later were served much earlier. The currywurst was hardly recognizable as such as only minimal curry was used. Improvements were only made upon request. The staff was partly friendly, but with a less customer-oriented undertone. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait 15 minutes for a free table. Overall, an unsatisfactory visit - a repeat is out of the question.

I went there spontaneously on a weekend to have breakfast. We had briefly looked at the menu online beforehand, but didn't want to order brunch, but rather a la carte. We were told on site that we could only have brunch (€23 - quite expensive, especially without drinks, of course), so a la carte wasn't an option. Although this was a small sentence in the menu, it wasn't clearly formulated, so you would think that there was a choice of brunch or a la carte on the weekend. Maybe with better communication that would be possible, so we left again - without breakfast.

This weekend we were with a small group in the Cafe del Sol, which was very full at the time, and unfortunately we had to wait a long time for our food. The waitress Patricia was very friendly and accommodating with her service and had the situation well under control with her humor. Explained the reason for the delay and at least brought us starters. At the end she persuaded us to order dessert.

Nice restaurant. We were there with a larger group. The cappuccino came very quickly, but because the cup was small, it was already finished before breakfast arrived. There are only four choices for breakfast – a wider selection, perhaps including muesli, yogurt, and fruit salad, is unfortunately lacking. The service was very good.
