Cafe Del Sol Hamm in Hamm

On April 22, 2025, at around 5 p.m., we went there for dinner for my birthday. I was really looking forward to a veggie burger that day, which I was already familiar with and had enjoyed until then. When the burger was served, I immediately noticed that it looked different than usual. When I asked, the waiter confirmed that it was the veggie burger. I took a bite and immediately noticed that the taste was also noticeably different. After a brief discussion with the waiter, he finally admitted that the patty had changed—although this was not indicated on the menu. I pointed out to him that I didn't like it and asked to speak to the manager. He initially claimed to be the manager himself and continued to argue with me instead of offering a solution. Finally, he called a supposed supervisor, a woman named AYO ? AVO ?, on his personal cell phone. On the phone, she told me the burger was indeed new. I explained that I was disappointed – especially since it was my birthday that day, I'm pregnant, and I wanted to eat there especially. Unfortunately, the lady on the phone didn't offer me a accommodating solution. Instead of a replacement burger, I was only offered a coffee or dessert – neither of which was helpful to me, as I was hungry and had come specifically for the burger. I told her she would lose us as customers. Her response was, "I wouldn't have a problem with that." I will never eat there again. I think it's a real shame that changes to menu items aren't handled openly and transparently, and that as a guest with a legitimate concern, you're treated like that – especially on a special day for me.

Today we had Easter brunch with several people. Unfortunately there wasn't even juice for children at the buffet, which is to be expected for €20. We had my grandmother with us, who suffers from dementia and only ate a roll and we were asked to pay the full price of €20. Which we found outrageous because we had previously been told on the phone that you didn't have to pay the full price for it. After a long discussion with the shift manager, we paid for a children's buffet. The service was very friendly.

It was a nice breakfast, with everything you could want. Nothing was missing. The rolls were exceptionally good. Gladly again.

We went to Cafe Del Sol for the first time today and were very satisfied. We ordered a breakfast platter for 2 people, which included 2 croissants, 2 dark and 2 light rolls and all the cold cuts, which we took a photo of. We have a zsm with our child. Had breakfast and it was more than enough for us. We ordered three drinks, a latte macchiato with syrup, a coffee and a warm cocoa. In total we paid around €35 ​​for 3 people. The price-performance ratio was more than great and the staff was also very friendly and kept asking whether everything was OK and whether there was anything else that could be done.

The ambiance is inviting at first glance, but the seating arrangement was based on the motto "as many tables as possible." I felt like I was sitting shoulder to shoulder with another guy. I ordered a regular burger, and let's be honest, if I wanted to eat hard rubber, I could have just bitten into my car's tire. Service was good.

I ordered an ice chocolate and an ice cream café, in the end I got an ice cream café which was hot and I was told that they don't have a café, and in my ice chocolate there was no chocolate but only milk!

We ate there after we were at the zoo in Hamm. Got a sunny spot on the terrace. Waitress was friendly and considerate. However, she was solely responsible for the terrace, but was still friendly and a guest can be expected to be patient these days if she does what she can. Because the circumstance is least her fault; on the contrary, she suffers the most from it of all those involved. We'll definitely come back.

Blocks access to the parking lot or makes you pay when you come to lunch... Lamentable.

Unfriendly and slow employees. Sometimes they don't understand your language. Accordingly, you don't get served what you ordered or it's missing entirely. Questions are answered harshly and condescendingly. Shift manager (little lady) was equally unfriendly and overwhelmed even though the store wasn't fully staffed. No accomodation, no apology, even though there was a table of 10 people and since not everyone received the food they ordered, the mood was over. Never again from Sol Hamm. There are definitely better branches in the area!

I have often visited Café del Sol in Hamm in the past, but unfortunately my visit today disappointed me. My companion and I each ordered a Belgian waffle for 8.50 euros, expecting to receive a freshly made waffle. Instead, we received a sugar wafer, which you can buy in the supermarket for 2.50 euros for 10 pieces. When the friendly waitress asked about our satisfaction, I brought up both the price and the quality of the product served. Her explanation that purchasing the product was expensive did not alleviate my disappointment, especially when she pointed out that the quality of the waffles was supposedly better than those in the supermarket. Unfortunately, we couldn't find any difference in quality and therefore found the price to be unreasonable and excessive. I understand that staff, rent and food costs have increased, but this experience was still unsatisfactory. I would have liked a more professional exchange in terms of value for money and the handling of criticism. In the future I will visit other restaurants first, what a shame!

I wanted to test one of my colleague's schnitzels because I'm unsure about turkey meat. I don't eat pork and I'm not interested in vegan. And I think turkey rarely tastes good. The lady said I wasn't allowed because there had been certain incidents in the past. My idea was to leave it standing so I could test a small piece. If I had liked it, I would order it straight away. But it wasn't allowed either. If my colleague had offered me a small piece and I got caught, I would have to pay for it in full. Then ordered something else, but oh well. Never go to Cafe del Sol again.

Highly recommended! The food was delicious, the service was excellent and everything was super clean.

The restaurant is currently being renovated/rebuilt, so the terrace is open but in progress. The brunch buffet was very extensive and very appetizing. We had to wait a little longer for the drinks but it was also pretty full and the waitresses had to keep running out... Otherwise everything was great. (Despite the renovation work, the terrace was heated!)

Always worth a visit, friendly, competent staff, delicious food and good portions, cozy atmosphere, great value for money 👌OK.

Very tasty, friendly service. Good portions, but fries like McDonald's... Update. Casa del Sol wrote to me and wanted to know why I wasn't 100% satisfied. I thought it was clear, but here again - fries like McDonald's. That doesn't mean I was dissatisfied, but you can get fries like this at every McD or Burger King. Honestly, I've eaten better fries at any fast food joint.

The food was very tasty. The service was thoughtful and friendly. I didn't think the atmosphere was that great. The seats/tables weren't really comfortable/nicely decorated. Overall it wasn't a feel-good atmosphere. But otherwise everything is good.

Well, the four of us were only there for 5 minutes because we were assigned a table, but unfortunately we couldn't sit there because the tables were way too narrow and we couldn't pull the chair away enough to sit. It means a table is assigned. "You see the table there by the window, it would be free" then she turned around and was gone. So just squeeze in as many people as possible. And if the other people were still gossiping, we were a mixed bag. Doesn't work at all. Continue to the R Cafe, where the service, sitting, eating and drinks were great.

Visited as a couple on New Year's Eve. Reservations were required for the occasion, there were some daily specials, including cocktails for €5. The speed at which drinks and food were served was exceptionally fast. The cocktails were good, the burgers were also very tasty. We were only confused with the next table when paying. The interior is nice, the music is not too loud. The distance to the next table could have been larger. We'd love to come back.

We were there with the family for breakfast/brunch on December 29th. It was just extremely delicious! Very welcoming atmosphere. Very friendly staff. The service was simply great! Every now and then we come here after visiting the zoo. The food is absolutely fine, you know what you're getting, but the service needs a lot of improvement. We arrive, not particularly crowded, a waitress tells us we can choose a seat. Then for 20 minutes...nothing happens. Nobody comes, nobody pays attention to us. Only after hectic waving does a waiter come and ask in surprise what else we would like, well, ordering would generally be nice. The food and drinks arrive, but then no one comes again. We had something to drink, but unfortunately we couldn't order anything because we were skillfully ignored again. The waiters prefer to stand in groups of three behind the counter and talk. At some point I managed to speak to a waitress and say that I wanted to pay, “yes, I’ll come straight away”. She goes to 3 more tables to settle the accounts and then goes back towards the counter and has obviously successfully pushed us away again. Another 10 minutes later our eyes accidentally meet again and she apparently remembers my request. Sorry guys but the service is really subpar and prevents you from making more sales.

Unfortunately, we are there far too rarely. I think the atmosphere is really nice and it has something of a holiday in the south about it.

We like coming here, even if the ambient noise in the restaurant is quite loud. The Schnitzel del Sol with Sambalhollandaise is really great. The service is quick and very friendly.

We were with you yesterday and ordered a currywurst with fries and a pinsa. Unfortunately that was nothing at all! The currywurst was burnt and was just as cold as the pinsa. Okay, we only got to your place at 9 p.m., but the food should still be okay.

We had a very nice evening here, nice ambience, nice service and delicious food. On top of that there are two very nice swing benches in front of the entrance. We went home happy😊

The food was quite good. Despite inflation and restaurant prices, the drinks are far too expensive. Most of the service was friendly. But some don't. And the order went pretty haywire. Someone at the table had long since finished eating by the time it was the turn of the others. Then a dish was delivered incorrectly and a dip was forgotten. The guest also cannot know that the colleague who serves you is not the same one who collects the money. If you then ask a second time whether you can pay, you don't have to be snippy straight away. All in all, pretty average. Unfortunately, the prices do not reflect this.

We waited 2 hours for our food. Still wasn't that good either. Price-performance is a disaster. It was a Friday evening. We had to wait another half hour after asking about the bill. Laden has definitely had better times.

The food was impeccable and what you would expect in the restaurant. Even though we were there early in the evening and not all tables were occupied, we had to wait quite a long time to eat. With small children, it was a test of patience, but the staff was otherwise very attentive, pens and painting materials were provided for the children. The food was quite OK. However, the service was a total disaster - the employees at the counter just looked you in the face without serving. We had to wait almost 35 minutes until we could place our order and we had to wait a long time to be robbed until we then went to the counter ourselves to pay. Thanks but never again.

Today I visited Café Del Sol in Hamm. After about 5 minutes someone came to the table and took the order. After about 10 minutes I had my food. I ate the BBQ burger. I personally liked this and the portion was appropriate. Paying also took little time. The store was almost half full (inside). The toilets are clean. The ambience was good. The staff was friendly and accommodating. There are not many parking spaces directly in front of the store compared to the capacity of the tables. However, there are sufficient parking spaces next door. If the path takes me to Hamm again, I could imagine visiting again.

The food is really very good. However, this is the only reason why I come. At least 20 minutes wait until a waiter comes and pays attention to you. After the food was finally there, I finally got my drink after reminding me several times. We had to go in to pay because two waiters “passed on” our payment request. This is the 2nd time after more than 3 months that it has happened like this. Next time it's better to take the food away or not at all. Very unfortunate.

Good location, lots of parking spaces. The service for us was really good and very quick. Due to the high ceilings, the acoustics are louder the more guests there are. You can find really good breakfast or brunch options there on Sundays.

Another schnitzel holiday. Food is delicious, there are a few deductions for the service. Yes, it was well attended, but between ordering the drinks and having them delivered, it took just under half an hour, well. Paying the bill was a game of patience.

It started with us having to wait over 15 minutes until a waiter happened to walk past our table and we could order our drinks. After almost 20 minutes, the oh-so-complicated 2 sprites were brought, the remaining 4 drinks took another 10 minutes. After our food order and another 30 minutes, this was also brought and tasted quite okay. Further service was only possible if a waiter happened to show up once every half hour and you had to wave at him. The remaining waiters spent their working hours at the counter with guests and food. When we wanted to pay we had to go to the front of the counter several times because we wanted to go slowly. Each time we were sent back to our table with the information that a waiter would come to pay in 2 minutes. 2 minutes quickly turned into 20. When we got fed up, we were told that the waiter with the cash register or whatever wasn't available at the moment. Such chaos. On a Wednesday evening. In a relatively empty restaurant. When salvation came, the waitress answered the tip question on the device with a “no”, for her own safety?:) Disappointing

Hello, I don't really know where to start. First of all, we were made to wait for 15 minutes until a waiter decided to serve us. We were then made to wait 30 minutes for our drinks. Then we had to wait until someone showed up again so that our order for the food could be taken, but since only the new ones were sent to clear away, we had to wait again for someone who could take the order. And again, waited almost 40 minutes. Waited for a meal that was just slapped on the table, the salad tasted like pure vinegar and I could have made the potatoes myself. Our whole table was shocked and disappointed with the food, they really expected more. When we wanted to pay, we had to wait at least 15 minutes because once again no one was there to serve us professionally. Maybe this was all because they only sent the new ones who couldn't even take an order. Or the fact that the blonde waitress prefers to sit with her boyfriend all her working hours and talk to him. Continuously. Until she had a break, made something to eat, and then they sat together again. She walked through the store once or twice, she's supposed to look like she's working, but 99% of the time we were there she was hanging with him. The shop was empty, no waiters to be seen, apart from the new ones who cleared the table every now and then. What kind of professional working relationship is that supposed to be? With a “restaurant” like this, I can also go to an all-you-can-eat store if I have to take care of everything myself anyway. The service was a complete disaster! Never again.

Hey guys, I found the cafe very cozy and bright and friendly. The food was great and the waitress was very friendly and attentive. It's easy to reach. The parking spaces are large and easy to access.

Unfortunately, the quality and quantity have decreased. I came very often back then and you still got something for your money. Now you pay €10 for fries with chicken and get an extremely small portion. After asking the waiter, the portions will be weighed. Apparently the amount received back then was reduced. Too bad...

Solid food. Furniture a bit worn. Rhubarb spritzer is not recommended, it has hardly any taste and hardly any carbonation.

Saturday 7:00 p.m. - it wasn't overly busy, it took a while to take the order. The chili as a starter came before the drinks - minus for the service. The burger was warm, but not really hot - minus for the food area.

Cocktails and drinks were great, food was more like a canteen. Ready-made breaded schnitzel and hollandaise sauce from the bag, unfortunately you can taste it :( If it's well filled, you can only sit outside, unfortunately it's far too loud inside.

Absolutely top for breakfast/brunch and a 100% recommendation. The dinner is delicious, but far too expensive for the portions that are far too small. For the price you can expect a portion twice as large. You definitely won't get full with just one.
