We're currently sitting down for lunch and are delighted by the friendly service and the exceptionally delicious lunch dishes. In our case: barbecue chicken wings and aljo olio with shrimp. The very diverse cuisine is striking. We've already returned today after yesterday's sumptuous and delicious breakfast. Very spacious and relaxing location. Cafe del 🔆 Göttingen

Despite its fine appearance, the spices are somehow lacking here. No comparison to the mild yellow curry or tiger chicken of yesteryear.

Overall, I'm always very satisfied when I visit Café del Sol in Göttingen. The food is delicious, as are the drinks – there's something for everyone here. The atmosphere is friendly and lively. One small downside: the tables are quite close together, which somewhat detracts from the coziness. A little more spacing or more comfortable seating – such as padded benches or a more relaxed interior design – would make the experience even more pleasant. Nevertheless, I always enjoy coming back – a lovely place for a relaxed meal with friends or family!

Very poor service, a very rude male with long blond hair at the bar. Drinks weren't filled properly; when I asked for a drink, it was overfilled, so everything overflowed and stuck to the sides. It would be nice to have friendly service again.

I was disappointed with the new summer drink, the Passion Fruit Spritz. It's a small glass and only half full...it looks puny despite the decorations. Tip: Large glass, lots of ice, and price it a bit more for me...

The food was delicious and everything came quickly, but you could really adjust the pasta portion size. It was just a handful, which was very little, and it didn't fill you up. The portion sizes for pizza/currywurst/burgers, etc., are perfect, but why are you cutting back so much on pasta? I won't be ordering pasta again. For 14.90, just a handful of pasta is just unacceptable.

Yes, I know CdS from Kassel and wasn't disappointed in Göttingen either. A hearty breakfast and delicious coffee.

A great place to stop for lunch on the long drive

We go to Cafe Del Sol with our family at least twice a year out of tradition. We've never had a bad experience there. I've always left full and satisfied.

The service and location are good, the food is regular, i think is a place more for a couple of drinks instead of eating

Hello reviews seekers, I was traveling from Hamburg to Frankfurt. So had a chance to visit Cafe Del Sol. The ambiance was super good and the food was tasty and I have to appreciate Mr. Akshay who was working there. And he was super helpful and gave a good seat ( as I was alone) And helped me with menu. The food came quickly and was generally OK, but for the price, you'd expect more for a waffle, for example! The café's interior is showing its age; dirty carpets and armchairs! The sinks in the restrooms are only partially functional! They could use some investment.

I would have loved to review the food here, but after being ignored by the wait staff for over 15 minutes while the tables around me already had drinks and some of them had their food, I left. Shit happens!

We were there for breakfast on Saturday and sat on the lovely terrace. We had a very friendly and attentive server. The value for money was excellent; we'll definitely be back!

We ate here with our children. Unfortunately, we were informed that this was still a restaurant and that crawling was to be avoided. I don't understand why they offer a changing table here but don't provide space for children in diapers. It would be new to me that children of such a young age can sit still at a table. Mothers with their children are thus completely excluded here. Our server was very friendly to us and the children; he didn't even look like he might trip. The restaurant was also very empty, and it was 12:00 noon. What a shame! We won't be back!

Ambience nice. Like all Café del Sol. Service very attentive and friendly. The food was standard good to very good. Only the burger was nothing this time. The beef patty and the bacon are extremely al dente. Felt like you wanted to bite off 4mm thick cardboard. Tasty in taste. No salt, nothing. The bowl and the spare ribs, however, were very good.

I absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant. In April we visited the café and chose a place on the terrace - unfortunately we were very disappointed. The waitress who served our table pointedly leaned toward my partner, attempted to flirt, and made inappropriate comments about his car - apparently assuming I didn't understand her. Such behavior is disrespectful to guests. It was particularly sad to see so little solidarity and respect from one woman towards another woman. We definitely won't be returning.

Repeatedly disappointed. The food is just not good for the price. Some of it tastes good, but it's just too expensive for the quality. Unfortunately, compared to other restaurateurs, I can't make a recommendation. The dining room is like a hall, it echoes and is loud. It's definitely better outside, but the evening inside was really tiring. We were there with several people and it wasn't possible to talk to everyone at the table. The waitresses tried hard and were friendly, but due to the large number of tables they had no chance of offering very good service.

After a few years I was back at Café del Sol in Göttingen. I was very happy, but was disappointed with the food. The curry was always my highlight, but it seemed bland and looked completely different than before. The breading of the schnitzel was quite greasy, which could be done much better. The service was quick and friendly.

One of the best place in Göttingen. Wonderful ambience, great service and delicious food. We got to know about this place in January 2025 and since then we are the regular visitors.

We were there last weekend, a large group of women. At the beginning the service was “ok” then it stopped being available. The food at Sol has gotten worse! What was not right for all the ladies, including me, was the sanitary facilities! Disastrous, I also told the service when I collected it: at least €260.

Unfortunately service wasn't that great. We were a larger group. Some of us got food and the others got food as the first part was already finished. Mistakes with the drinks, which for God's sake isn't a problem, but then getting soggy and snappy is really humbling. The food was very good and the prices were absolutely top.

We had dinner here this evening and had often heard good things about Café Del Sol. It was very loud inside, but more pleasant outside. The drinks were very tasty. You have to wait quite a long time for the food, but it's not a problem at all. However, one of the two dishes (burger with fries) arrived completely cold. When asked, the entire dish was taken back and prepared again. Long wait again. And the second burger was only lukewarm, but at least not cold. The table behind us also had their dish returned. Very unfortunate. However, the service was always very friendly and should be praised :) However, due to the circumstances, we will not be coming back despite the long wait.

The breakfast brunch on Sunday was alright but absolutely not worth the money (20,90€). Drinks weren‘t included and the offer was not that high quality as it is with comparable places. Also, they didn’t have any veggie alternatives and the staff barely understood the question and rather smirked at the request. Would not recommend. A shame to have wasted our money.

For my birthday we reserved a table for 3 people. After a long wait, our order was taken by a somewhat listless waitress, and after another long wait, drinks and therefore the food arrived - but only for 2 people. While our food was being served, our third person was told that lasagna was out and that she had to choose something new. While two people ate, one person had to choose a new dish and wait again. Food was okay, potatoes came relatively quickly, but it was still stupid for a group birthday dinner. After paying (everything together with a card) my girlfriend was suspicious because we had paid quite a lot. We weren't offered a bill or EC receipt at all and the waitress quickly disappeared. When we asked that we would like the bill, she didn't bring it to us until we asked again. There we noticed that we had also paid for the lasagna, she came back and only reimbursed us €10 and only when we were informed that lasagne cost €12.50 did we get the full price refunded. Overall she was rather unfriendly and there was no apology. For a birthday dinner the evening was rather disappointing.

Good coffee, pleasant atmosphere and service

Visit on March 29th, Saturday evening. Unfortunately it was very full and there was no free seat at the beginning. So far so good. We were offered a seat at the bar and were quickly asked for our order. We quickly order food and drinks. The drinking came very quickly. Unfortunately, the waiting time for the food was not at all reasonable because we waited almost an hour for the food. Even after asking, when they said it would only take three minutes, it was almost a 15 minute wait again. Yes, it was busy, but for a system restaurant, this waiting time is simply not appropriate. What was also annoying was that at the beginning we were given no indication that ordering food might take longer. If we had known this beforehand, we wouldn't have stayed at all. It also happened that the wrong things were delivered to us while we were waiting and this also happened to those sitting next to us. The negative highlight came at the end when we decided not to tip because of this long waiting time, when the waiter very intrusively asked why we were “only” paying the prices without a tip. He is a trainee and depends on it. First of all: Tipping is a voluntary service and we are not responsible for the employees' salaries. If everything had been ok, we would have been happy to give a tip. But not like that. The statement was therefore extremely unprofessional and outrageous. We won't be coming back!

We had breakfast there and it was very tasty, and the coffee was also very good. There are also food and children's chairs, pictures and pens for small children. We will definitely come back. In the evening you should make a reservation 😉

Highly recommended... you should make a reservation on Saturday evening. Service very nice. Also crayons for children 👍 Food was very good. It was just a shame that our 8-year-old daughter got her Kidsschnitzel last, while I had my Pinsa in front of me for 10 minutes. Children's meals should always go out first 😉

As soon as I ordered the drink I knew it wasn't going to be a good evening. One drink came completely wrong and my wheat glass was so dirty that I had to return it. Furthermore, I later found a piece of plastic in my mayonnaise, which can be seen in the picture. When I pointed out that there was plastic in my food, they responded very hesitantly and offered me a new mayonnaise. When paying, there was no apology or other waiver of a price. What was even more cheeky was that the wrong drink was charged, even though it was more expensive than the one we ordered. I strongly advise against visiting this restaurant as the guest is literally trampled on.

We were there without a reservation and were able to bridge the waiting time at the counter. Everything was fine except that a meal was forgotten. When we asked about it, we responded quickly. But since the whole restaurant was full, it wasn't a big deal if something like that happened. It was still very nice. Keep it up 👍🏻

I was there with my girlfriend in the evening during the week. Well attended, but we still managed to get a spot. The service was great and checked on us regularly. The size of the schnitzel is debatable. It might actually be a little bigger than the palm of your hand, but taste wise I thought it was delicious, sauce was great and so were the sweet potato fries. The cocktails were also very tasty. All in all, our evening was very nice and we will be back!

“Schnitzel del Sol” and a “burger dish”: It hasn't been a bad 08/15 meal for a long time. The side salad was either of poor quality or from the day before, the schnitzel was ready-made, ... "We were very concerned about the meal afterwards." In addition, the service was superficial, but it specifically pointed out the tip button when paying by card. The place wasn't overly crowded but it was very loud. Old cobwebs on the ceiling are probably part of the decoration? From our point of view, no recommendation.

We had a little something to eat there today with small children, our children explored the restaurant, we were then asked by the service staff that we should please stop the children from doing this, otherwise the waiter could walk around them. We understand the security aspect behind it. However, it is not the case that children are not given a lobby; they are neither given preferential treatment when they order fries (the waiting time was a good 45 minutes) nor is there any opportunity to play. Hello I have to make a complaint. I had breakfast with you in Göttingen today with my wife. It really wasn't anything else you can say. 2x breakfast and scrambled eggs. The scrambled eggs were totally soggy and we asked the service to please fry them again. It was defiantly brought into the kitchen and 2 minutes later it was back. The same consistency just completely picked apart. It looked like it had been handled with a fork but not fried so I just brought it back to the table. The service had seen that we hadn't touched the scrambled eggs anymore, but just to ask if everything was OK, they simply walked past us a few times without even looking at us. Of course, when I paid, the scrambled eggs were still there and again no demand. We paid for the scrambled eggs even though they weren't edible for us. Even the criticism that it was nothing was simply dismissed and said that the chef had been there for years and that it was always like that. We had to contradict that because we go there often but this time was definitely the last time. I just can't accept something so unfriendly and you won't see me there for breakfast again. I can't recommend it either, it's a shame how it went and totally incomprehensible how you can treat guests like that. I'm extremely annoyed that I actually paid for it.

First of all, there is an unpleasant smell in the anteroom. The toilet seats are damaged and some of them are no longer firmly attached to the toilet. The toilet brushes really did the rest for me. They urgently need to be replaced 🙊 I have no idea how long they've been there, but definitely too long. Regardless, the location needs a thorough renovation. But the toilet brushes and glasses could now also be replaced. 👍 I hope that these things were exchanged on the next visit. Until then, all the best to you and see you next time ✌️

We were there on December 23rd. for breakfast a la carte with two small children there. We waited almost an hour for our food, even though it was very busy. Furthermore, we hardly received any service. The food was very little and not particularly tasty. Price/performance was not appropriate. In my opinion, the evening meals and lunches have declined in recent years, but the breakfast was subpar and I will avoid it in the future.

Rarely have we experienced something so bad! We had dinner with 5 people. Order taken...the first meal was ok, 15 minutes later the 2nd, 3rd and 4th! The reason why the 5th meal wasn't included was that there was no more room on the tray! After a while someone had to get up to ask where the food was!!!!!!! Oops...forgot! But this happened about 10 minutes later! The service was awfully bad but the food didn't make up for it! Fries cold, salad already completely brown! Schnitzel from the deep fryer! The prices for something like this are completely exaggerated. Never again...just cruel

Total disaster. Champion sauce gives my son diarrhea, I didn't have it, just cartilage in the meat, the fries 🍟 were inedible, raw and not properly fried. NOT EDIBLE THIS food, not worth a cent, I paid 49.00 for the bin. Greetings, they got lost there.

Tequila Sunrise for €9.20 tastes like pure orange juice. When asked if you could have a little more tequila, you were told only if you paid extra. If you want to drink overpriced juice, this is the place for you.

The food was super tasty, I had the chili cheese burger with fries. Good taste, right portion size. The staff were all attentive and very friendly. The only downside is the train station hall feeling; since the ceilings are so high, it gets very loud in this building.

We had booked a table for brunch. We were warmly welcomed and shown to the table. The buffet offers something for everyone, salad, sausage, cheese, fish, eggs in different variations, in the warm area, schnitzel, fish, poultry... If you don't find anything there, you won't find anything anywhere. Drinks were delivered quickly, all in all a nice Sunday meal

Jägerschnitzel for €18.90 I don't actually have a problem with it, but two small pressed meat schnitzels, that's where it gets a little absurd again. Then at least take smaller plates, then they won't look so lost. Service good and very friendly
