Topp Service! Wir wurden freundlich empfangen und prompt bedient. Die Speisekarte ist umfangreich und die Preise durchaus vertretbar. Die Bestellung kam sehr schnell und mein Salat war richtig lecker. Hübsch präsentiert und gut abgeschmeckt. Kind hatte Apfelstrudel und war zufrieden. Ganz besonders zu empfehlen ist die hausgemachte Limonade.

Super Location! Mitten in der Innenstadt. Gemütlich eingerichtet, super Service und gutes Essen! Preise sind ebenfalls absolut akzeptabel!

Super stimmiges Ambiente. Der Service war echt nett. Und das Essen war richtig lecker, von der Wochenkarte das Paprikaschnitzel mit Pommes und einem Salat, als Nachtisch einen Crepes Apfel. Alles frisch zubereitet und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis war auch mehr als nur fair. Mein Tip für Marburg.

Der einzige Ort auf der Welt, der eine Lasagne komplett ruinieren kann. Ehrlich, sie schmeckte nur nach Zimt und Kokosmilch. Es ist eine Lasagne, keine Weihnachtserinnerung! Wir bestellten außerdem den Marburger Auflauf. Der war sehr scharf. Hinweis: Ich bin allergisch gegen Zimt und hatte nach dem Verzehr der Lasagne eine allergische Reaktion.

Café Barfuß in Marburg Bei unserem Marburg Besuch haben wir das Cafe Barfuss gleich mehrfach aufgesucht. Jedes Mal - beim Frühstück wie auch beim Abendessen - waren wir sowohl von der ausgezeichneten Qualität der Speisen wie auch vom überaus freundlichen Service der durchweg jungen Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter beeindruckt. Und dies alles bei einem tollen Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis Wir werden sicherlich sehr gerne wiederkommen.

Leider war der Auflauf total versalzen, was sehr schade war... tolles Ambiente und sehr nette Bedienung. Als Wiedergutmachung gab es ein Getränk umsonst.

Ich war mit meinem Kumpel zusammen das erste mal in Marburg - sind nach Empfehlung hier gelandet. Drinnen war‘s voll, aber draußen gab es noch Plätze mit Heizstrahlern. Das Café Barfuß in der Marburger Oberstadt ist so ein Ort, an dem man eigentlich nur „kurz auf ein Getränk“ vorbeischauen will – und plötzlich ist der Abend verschwunden. Schuld daran? Ganz klar das frisch gezapfte „Helle“: angenehm kühl, herrlich süffig und gefährlich einladend. Eins bestellt man aus Neugier, das zweite aus Überzeugung – und ab da wird nicht mehr gezählt. Dazu kommt die entspannte, leicht wuselige Atmosphäre, die irgendwo zwischen Wohnzimmer und lebendigem Treffpunkt pendelt. Man sitzt, lacht, schaut dem Treiben zu – und merkt gar nicht, wie gut es einem gerade geht. Kurz gesagt: Wer hier einkehrt, sollte Zeit mitbringen. Und vielleicht einen Plan, wie man nach dem „letzten“ Hellen doch noch nach Hause kommt.

Super zum Frühstücken. Unbedingt reservieren! Selten geht mal in der Hektik bei vollem Laden etwas unter, einfach nachfragen, dann wird es gebracht. Nette Bedienung.

Das ist ein super Ort zum Auflaufen. Wir haben zwei Gerichte bestellt, Garnelen und Barfuß, und sie waren so lecker, dass ich unbedingt wiederkommen möchte. Die Bedienung kam regelmäßig vorbei und fragte, ob wir etwas bräuchten oder ob es uns geschmeckt habe – das war wirklich nett. Die Atmosphäre ist auch fantastisch, wie in einer richtigen Bar. Ihr solltet unbedingt mal vorbeikommen! Es gibt viele Sitzplätze.

Hier ist es wirklich richtig urig, sehr gutes Essen und nette Bedienung. Leider immer sehr voll und gut besucht. Man sollte reservieren.

Ich kenne das Cafe Barfuß seit 40 Jahren, und es hat sich nicht ganz so viel verändert. War früher schon eine schöne Studentenkneipe, mit alten Kaffeesäcken als Deko an der Wand. Die haben an der linken Seite sogar bis heute überlebt, der Rest wurde natürlich stilgerecht renoviert. Die Auswahl an Speisen wurde angepasst, obwohl es auch vor 40 Jahren dort schon viele vegetarische Gerichte gab. Immer wieder schön, dort mal nach langer Zeit hinzukommen und an seine Studienzeit erinnert zu werden.

Wir haben zwei Aufläufe gegessen und die beiden haben uns sehr geschmeckt. Empfehlenswert!

Ich bin total begeistert von diesem Restaurant. Alles war einfach köstlich, vom Hugo's und dem Tee bis hin zur Karottensuppe und den Aufläufen. Die Bedienung war trotz des großen Andrangs zur Mittagszeit überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Immer wenn ich am Vorabend Raue Mengen bier konsumierte, pflegte ich diesen Ort zu besuchen. Nach Anleitern und Aufschärfen ist dies ein Ort der besinnlichen Glückseligkeit.

Ein tolles, gemütliches Café. Ideal für eine Kaffeepause oder ein Mittagessen. Das Café ist perfekt gestaltet und eingerichtet und fängt die Atmosphäre einer Bar aus dem 19. Jahrhundert perfekt ein.

Also, das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis im Barfuß ist schon super. Ich glaube, es gibt wenig Kneipen in Marburg, wo man so günstig und gut essen kann. Die Hühnersuppe z.b. ist eine absolute Sensation. Die ist so frisch, da hört man das Huhn noch gackern. Sehr gut auch der Auflauf im Barfuß, den es in verschiedenen Variationen gibt. Das Café Barfuß ist eine Studentenkneipe und das spürst du sofort. Einrichtung ist stimmig, Atmosphäre hat was spezielles. Der Service ist freundlich und ohne Allüren und Etepetete. Immer wieder gerne geh ich da hin...

Mein Crêpe und der Glühwein waren köstlich; einige Freunde bestellten Pasta, die nicht ganz so gut war, aber der Service und die Atmosphäre waren trotzdem sehr schön.

85. Auflauf = Gratin: Lots of spinach and a cream sauce base. For those who can't stand rich food, a cola is a must🥤 55. Baguette: Fluffy bread. The veal feels like it's separate from the bread. Maybe because I went for lunch, I was eating more breakfast items than Auflauf.

The café is very cozy. The service is polite and friendly. The waitress came to us immediately, took our order, and brought it within 5-7 minutes. Very quick and delicious 😋 We also had a deep-fried apple dessert 🍎 with a nut filling, but I forgot to take a picture of it. Interesting presentation, tasty filling. I highly recommend this café.

I've been there many times with my girlfriend, and practically every trip we make to Marburg ends at Café Barfuß. Sometimes the portions are a bit small for my taste, but that's just my personal preference, of course. However, I'm happy to accept that for the quality of the food. The ambiance is very nice, and there's always pleasant music playing. The staff is also very attentive and friendly. Highly recommended.

The service was very friendly, but in my opinion, the food was pre-made (Wiener Schnitzel & Tarte Flambée dough). The taste wasn't particularly good. The price was reasonable, but too expensive for a pre-made product. We expected more, but unfortunately, we were disappointed.

My father said he had the best lasagna of his life. My cheese spaetzle was also delicious. The service was also top-notch!

We got the last table at 7 p.m. Friday evening. The three waitresses were very friendly, attentive, and efficient. The two casseroles were very tasty and plentiful. It was truly worth it, and we'll definitely be back next time we visit Marburg.

The food was ordered quickly and arrived quite promptly. Unfortunately, my partner received the wrong side dish, which she had actually reordered. They offered to bring the requested side dish immediately, but we declined, as otherwise the incorrectly delivered side dish would have been thrown away. The taste and quantity of everything was excellent. Surprise at the end: we weren't charged for the drinks because the side dish had been delivered incorrectly.

We stopped by for a spontaneous meal today with colleagues (7 people). I've known Café Barfuß for over 30 years. But today was the last time. Horrible! The service was nice, but very unfocused. First, my food was swapped, so I had to wait a bit for lasagna and could eat it later. The (cheap) salmon lasagna was really bad, though. Because of the swap, it was prepared so quickly that it was still cold in the middle. In my experience, you can't eat lasagna right away because it's very hot when you take it out of the oven. Then my second drink was swapped again, with sparkling water instead of still water. Then came apple strudel with ice cream. No spoons on the table... All in all, we won't be coming back. Poor!

When ordering our drinks, we said we needed a few seconds for our food. After more than half an hour of ignorance, we decided to leave. It's busy or I'm alone at my station, which I don't accept, since people who came after us already had their food. A huge disappointment! It was a total disgrace that a waiter kept grinning during the complaint. I have no idea how the good reviews came from.

Friendly service, short wait, but below-average food. Perhaps it's worth considering that, according to its name, this is a café and not a restaurant. Lured by the homemade tarte flambée on offer, we wanted to round off our vacation with dinner. We found a seat outside and ordered tarte flambée and veal schnitzel with fried potatoes. The food arrived quickly. The round tarte flambée was served on a wooden board and looked as if it could have used another minute in the oven. When we cut into it, we noticed that there was a round piece of non-stick cardboard between the board and the tarte flambée. It reminded us very much of convenience food. We also ordered Wiener schnitzel with fried potatoes. It came with a small bowl of salad. In short: the veal schnitzel was okay, the fried potatoes were only very lightly browned and soft. Perhaps this is typical regionally, but we've seen many variations. The salad bowl was dressed with corn, bell peppers, cucumber, arugula, and a bit of dressing and looked somewhat carelessly presented. The two Alster beers were well-mixed and had a high beer content. We gave the friendly waitress a generous glass of wine despite the rather poor food. I wouldn't recommend this place for dinner.

Unfortunately, after a long wait, the waiter only arrived after we informed the café that we would like to sit outside and order. Drinks arrived promptly, and the food arrived within a reasonable time. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the reviews. I had a fetizza with spinach and feta cheese. It tasted good, but the fetizza was unfortunately cold. The cheese had melted but had solidified again. If it had been cold, it would have been okay. It would have definitely tasted better warm. The salad was good. We also had a lasagna with spinach and salmon. This also tasted okay; the baked cheese was very tasty, but unfortunately, the salmon was very salty and the sauce was very fatty and looked a bit congealed. We had hoped for a bit more based on the reviews. It wasn't inedible, but it could have been better. The service was very friendly.

Great vegan breakfast with lots of fruit and vegetables and free coffee refills (which also include oat milk). We've been coming here for many years and have always been served with super friendly and courteous service, no matter how busy the staff was. You just sit a bit... cozy... with the other guests 😅

Very friendly staff, our dog was offered water and a treat, so we all felt immediately welcome. :) Perhaps we came with too high expectations, as Café Barfuß is already an institution in Marburg. In any case, both the food and the general atmosphere weren't particularly spectacular. The prices have apparently increased quite a bit in recent months – almost €15 for a casserole isn't exactly cheap. On top of that, the casserole was pretty drowned in béchamel/cream, which gave the whole thing an unnecessary heaviness. We were full, though! The plates on the neighboring table also looked very well filled and attractively presented. If you stick to the daily specials, you can definitely get good food for a fair price, but for the standard dishes that are permanently on the menu, you'll find better restaurants in Marburg in terms of value for money.

NO! Not recommended. The worst restaurant we have visited in 2 years. Attractive from the outside. Quite noisy inside. The restaurant was well staffed. The service was nice, quick and friendly. BUT!!! The food!!! Is a disaster. My steak was actually inedible. I could hardly cut it with a knife, the fries were tasteless and on top were slimy onions with no bite at all. The salad was not crispy at all but extremely soft and limp. My wife had a tarte flambée. The same. No taste, not crispy, just terrible. We tipped anyway and said goodbye politely, but never again. No idea how these reviews come about. Bought???

We spontaneously stopped by for breakfast and felt very comfortable. The restaurant was quite busy, yet we received prompt and friendly service. The breakfast was lovingly prepared and delicious. Coffee and tea are included at no extra charge. If we're ever in the country again, we'd love to come back.

It has really good portions and taste is good but could be improved.

This place would be even better if advance reservations were actually accepted. Despite booking in advance (at the request of the restaurant due to the size of the group), we had to wait for 40 minutes (eight times the same thing); my mother's request for plain bread couldn't be fulfilled within three days. Upon request (!), they provided toast. Afterwards, we would have liked to have had more drinks... The stern Karl Marx above the door probably put a stop to unbridled capitalism.

Despite the restaurant being quite busy, six of us managed to get a table outside. Service took a while, but the servers were very friendly. Unfortunately, one of the six dishes was very late, and we would have liked to eat together. Nevertheless, the portions were generous, the food was freshly prepared, and the food was delicious! We'd be happy to go back.
